The promise of unlimited free stuff from the government isn't just an unfunded liability. It’s also a magnet for illegal immigration. California already faces a border catastrophe. In the past year, its San Diego and El Centro border sectors have seen respective increases of 611% and 345% in family unit apprehensions. MediCal expansion creates incentives that will make that problem much worse.

What's the matter with California?

California wants to look after its people, so it keeps expanding its social safety net. It also wants to welcome all comers and so embraces illegal immigrants and protects them in sanctuary cities.

Caring for all Californians is made harder by the state importing as many non-Americans as possible.

It's almost incredible, but also entirely characteristic, that California lawmakers have now decided to give healthcare free to nearly 100,000 illegal immigrants aged 19 to 25.

California has covered illegal immigrant children since 2016 under MediCal, the state’s version of Medicaid, at a cost of some $360 million. Now Gov. Gavin Newsom has agreed with state lawmakers to add another $98 million to California's spending by expanding coverage to young adults.

Just as California lacks enough homes to house its inhabitants, so it also lacks enough doctors to care for them. The additional budget bloat on healthcare will worsen that shortage.

If the damage were confined to California, one might be tempted to shrug and suggest that Californians choose themselves a better government. But the problem will spill over to the rest of the country, and to Americans who did not elect the irresponsible Sacramento government.

Border enforcement is mostly a federal responsibility, and we will all have to live with and deal with the consequences of an influx of illegal immigrants and a further strain on detention facilities' ability to cope.

When California raises taxes to pay for foreigners' healthcare, it weighs down on the federal budget because state and local taxes are partly deductible from federal income taxes. The rest of the country must subsidize more than $100 billion of spending by the Utopians in Sacramento.

When the Golden State's finances deteriorate, watch for Sacramento to beg for a bailout. Even before then, the rest of America must foot the bill for California’s overstuffed classrooms, decaying infrastructure, and everything else funded federally.

The California dream of taking care of everyone's needs is undermined by the California dream of open borders. State lawmakers were forced to choose between them, and they chose open borders. One must hope that one day the state's voters choose different lawmakers.

The costs of illegal immigration are being carefully hidden by Democrats.

More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals.

The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S.

Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California.

All four states with the largest foreign-born populations, including California, have extremely high use of welfare by immigrant households. In Texas, for example, nearly 70 percent of households headed by immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare. Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of native-born households in Texas are on welfare.

In New York and Florida, a majority of households headed by immigrants and noncitizens are on welfare. Overall, about 63 percent of immigrant households use welfare while only 35 percent of native-born households use welfare.

President Trump’s administration is looking to soon implement a policy that protects American taxpayers’ dollars from funding the mass importation of welfare-dependent foreign nationals by enforcing a “public charge” rule whereby legal immigrants would be less likely to secure a permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using Obamacare, food stamps, and public housing.

The immigration controls would be a boon for American taxpayers in the form of an annual $57.4 billion tax cut — the amount taxpayers spend every year on paying for the welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the country’s mass importation of 1.5 million new, mostly low-skilled legal immigrants.

As Breitbart News reported, the majority of the more than 1.5 million foreign nationals entering the country every year use about 57 percent more food stamps than the average native-born American household. Overall, immigrant households consume 33 percent more cash welfare than American citizen households and 44 percent more in Medicaid dollars. This straining of public services by a booming 44 million foreign-born population translates to the average immigrant household costing American taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare.

I woke up at 2:30, unable to sleep and overwhelmed by thoughts of the millions of young girls and boys who have been forced into sex-trafficking. My mind was filled with images of these children, alone and afraid, living in terror, drugged, sold, and then raped and abused every moment of their waking lives.

Anyone with a conscience would recognize the horrific evil of human-trafficking and would do what he could to end it, but for decades, our government has done nothing, and the Biden administration has actually facilitated the trade by turning its back on our open southern border.

According to the 2021 Federal Human Trafficking report covering the U.S. — a report initiated by President Trump, not by Obama or Biden — 92% of trafficking victims were engaged in sex-trafficking and 8% in forced labor, and of these totals, 57% were children. (Trump also signed the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act in 2018, the only significant legislation in recent memory.) The most recent report documents how little Biden has done in dealing with an enormous problem — for example, a decline in prosecutions once Biden entered office with a total of only 450 human-trafficking cases brought in 2021.

For whatever reason, and it may be political, statistics for the

None of this accords with statistics from many sources, including the Human Trafficking Institute (HTI), indicating that, globally, between 40 and 50 million persons are victims of trafficking at any one time. With some 5% of the world's population and the wealth to support "demand," it could be assumed that the U.S. represents at least 5% of global trafficking cases, or 2.5 million. Anything like that would be a national disgrace — a disgrace ignored by the U.S. State Department, Homeland Security, the president and vice president, and those progressive media like the Washington Post that support them.

There are groups attempting to fight human-trafficking , including the "Underground Railroad," which attempts to step in directly and save persons exploited, and the Human Trafficking Institute, but much more needs to be done. Exodus Cry and International Justice Mission are two groups that focus on human-trafficking. Much of the effort to combat trafficking comes from evangelical Christians, those same persons whom California and other states have done so much to suppress during the COVID epidemic. The ultimate force driving this evil is the demand for young boys and girls among perverted Americans, who purchase sex like a commodity and believe they have the right to violate even young children. These criminals should be punished with the maximum that the law allows, and new laws should be written providing for even greater punishments. Jeffrey Epstein comes to mind, with his underage prostitution operation, in which some of the world's wealthiest and most famous celebrities indulged. Charges against Epstein were repeatedly dropped or reduced to practically nothing. Was this because the rich and famous did not want attention focused on their own culpability?

The Biden administration has made global warming the centerpiece of its domestic and foreign policy, but fighting climate change, a quixotic venture in any case, does nothing to save or shelter a single human being. How much would have been gained if human-trafficking had been made the focus of this administration? How proud would we be as a nation to know that we had saved a hundred thousand or a million children from lives that are cruel, painful, drugged, infested, and brief, and that we had given these children the opportunity to live in safety and with the dignity that every human being deserves? Our Declaration of Independence guarantees "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." None of this is extended to the victims of trafficking.

All the graphic details of sex-trafficking, and the terror that young children experience, is running through my head, but I can't share these online. You must imagine them for yourself, and you must determine to fight this evil with the influence you possess as an American citizen. As an "invisible" issue, human-trafficking will never rank as a political priority. Our representatives must be made aware of its importance.

If we wish to create God's vision of what our lives should be and fulfill our mission of life on Earth, we cannot turn our backs on millions of innocent children who, at this very moment, are being exploited at the hands of those to whom their fragile bodies are simply a carnal attraction.

We possess the resources to end human-trafficking in our country. This effort would involve a combination of severe punishment for those involved in trafficking and control of the border to eliminate the influence of cartels that control the sex and drug trades. With a resolute effort driven by conscience, we could end trafficking, and persons like me could sleep better at night. Most important, though, millions of children could be spared.

Los Angeles County Pays Over a Billion in Welfare to Illegal Aliens Over Two Years.... THAT WAS THEN!

In 2015 and 2016, Los Angeles County paid nearly $1.3 billion in welfare funds to illegal aliens and their families. That figure amounts to 25 percent of the total spent on the county’s entire needy population, according to Fox News.

The state of California is home to more illegal aliens than any other state in the country. Approximately one in five illegal aliens lives in California, Pew reported.

Approximately a quarter of California’s 4 million illegal immigrants (THE NUMBER IS LIKELY DOUBLE THAT) reside in Los Angeles County. The county allows illegal immigrant parents with children born in the United States to seek welfare and food stamp benefits.

The welfare benefits data acquired by Fox News comes from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services and shows welfare and food stamp costs for the county’s entire population were $3.1 billion in 2015, $2.9 billion in 2016.

The data also shows that during the first five months of 2017, more than 60,000 families received a total of $181 million.

Over 58,000 families received a total of $602 million in benefits in 2015 and more than 64,000 families received a total of $675 million in 2016.

Robert Rector, a Heritage Foundation senior fellow who studies poverty and illegal immigration, told Fox the costs represent “the tip of the iceberg.”

“They get $3 in benefits for every $1 they spend,” Rector said. It can cost the government a total of $24,000 per year per family to pay for things like education, police, fire, medical, and subsidized housing.

In February of 2019, the Los Angeles city council signed a resolution making it a sanctuary city. The resolution did not provide any new legal protections to their immigrants, but instead solidified existing policies.

In October 2017, former California governor Jerry Brown signed SB 54 into law. This bill made California, in Brown’s own words, a “sanctuary state.” The Justice Department filed a lawsuit against the State of California over the law. A federal judge dismissed that suit in July. SB 54 took effect on Jan. 1, 2018.

According to Center for Immigration Studies, “The new law does many things: It forbids all localities from cooperating with ICE detainer notices, it bars any law enforcement officer from participating in the popular 287(g) program, and it prevents state and local police from inquiring about individuals’ immigration status.”

Some counties in California have protested its implementation and joined the Trump administration’s lawsuit against the state.

California’s campaign to provide public services to illegal immigrants did not end with the exit of Jerry Brown. His successor, Gavin Newsom, is just as focused as Brown in funding programs for illegal residents at the expense of California taxpayers.

California’s budget earmarks millions of dollars annually to the One California program, which provides free legal assistance to all aliens, including those facing deportation, and makes California’s public universities easier for illegal-alien students to attend.

According to the Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers 2017 report, for the estimated 12.5 million illegal immigrants living in the country, the resulting cost is a $116 billion burden on the national economy and taxpayers each year, after deducting the $19 billion in taxes paid by some of those illegal immigrants.

(Reuters)—The Biden administration issued a directive on Thursday saying that pregnant migrant children should be sheltered in states that allow abortions, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that eliminated the constitutional right to abortion.

The U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in guidance issued to staff also said that girls who are sheltered in states such as Texas that ban abortion and request abortion services should be transferred to states that allow the procedure.

ORR is responsible for sheltering unaccompanied minors who enter the U.S. illegally.

The U.S. Supreme Court in June overturned Roe v. Wade, its landmark 1973 ruling that recognized a constitutional right to have an abortion. At least 20 states now have full or partial abortion bans, although some have been blocked by litigation.

About one-third of the 123,000 unaccompanied migrant children who were taken into U.S. custody in fiscal year 2021 were female, according to ORR data. The data does not identify how many of them were pregnant.

Thursday's guidance builds on a memo ORR issued last year that said pregnant unaccompanied minors should not be sheltered in Texas, after the state passed a restrictive abortion ban. The directive makes the guidance the agency's official policy.

During the Trump administration, ORR prohibited staff from facilitating abortions without permission from the agency's director. In 2019, a U.S. appeals court said that policy was unconstitutional.

Thursday's guidance ensures access to abortion and other reproductive health services for migrants who would otherwise face major hurdles in crossing state lines, according to Brigitte Amiri of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"Abortion is essential health care, and accessing it shouldn't depend on your immigration status, whether you're incarcerated, or which state you're in," Amiri said in a statement.

President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief Alejandro Mayorkas has pushed out his frontline deputy, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus.

The removal was completed Saturday after Magnus initially rejected a resignation demand on Friday morning by his boss, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

“I resigned because I believe this decision provides me with the best path for advancing my commitment to professional, innovative and community-engaged policing,” Magnus said in a statement to media outlets.

Magnus has been commissioner for 11 months, directing the Border Patrol along the border and the customs inspectors at the border gateways, such as highways and airports. His agency has 60,000 employees and an $18 billion budget.

The forced exit comes amid a government-directed inflow of at least three million economic migrants from south of the border. For almost two years, Mayorkas has shown he is willing to release millions of migrants into the U.S. economy, where they help employers and investors by nudging down wages and pushing up housing costs.

Mayorkas’ smuggled inflow is in addition to the annual inflow of one million legal immigrants and at least 500,000 visa workers.

Despite the forced exit of Magnus, there is no evidence that Biden wants to fire border chief Mayorkas for releasing so many migrants into Americans’ communities and workplaces.

Establishment media outlets are portraying Magnus as a distracted, unfocused boss who failed to impose progressive-style workplace rules on the border agents. Politico, for example, reported in October:

“He’s not in the game,” said another one of the administration officials. “Every time there’s a meeting and he’s in it, we’ll get to a conclusion and Magnus will have some sidebar issue that he wants to raise and we’re all like ‘What the fuck is that about?’”

Six of those internal critics, for example, remarked to POLITICO that they had seen Magnus fall asleep during multiple meetings, including one earlier this year on how to handle the current swell of Venezuelans crossing the border.

The New York Times wrote:

Democrats hoped his decades of experience running police departments and changing longstanding law enforcement cultures would bring what many had considered to be much-needed reform to the U.S. Border Patrol, an agency that is part of C.B.P.
The Border Patrol has long been criticized for its white male-dominated work force and persistent problems with discrimination both inside the agency and in its treatment of migrants.

Magnus’ progressive agenda was strongly opposed by the union representing the border patrol officers.

Establishment outlets portray Magnus’ progressive agenda as a hindrance to Mayorkas’ supposedly sincere effort to curb the huge illegal migration, despite the evidence that Mayorkas wants to bring in more migrants.

“Magnus’s ambitions to overhaul CBP put him at odds with Mayorkas and senior CBP leaders struggling to contend with record numbers of migrant arrests along the Mexico border,” according to the Washington Post.

The Associated Press even suggested that Magnus’ exit will help Biden and Mayprkas manage the migration inflow they deliberately encouraged, managed, and hide. The AP reported on November 12:

Magnus’s removal is part of a larger shakeup expected at Homeland Security as it struggles to manage migrants coming from a wider range of countries, including Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua. This comes as Republicans are likely to take control of the House in January and are expected to launch investigations into the border.

But Magnus’ forced exit is helping keep the media focus away from Mayorkas’s plan to open up more legal pathways through the border, into American workplaces, and into citizenship. For example, Breitbart News reported on November 11:

Just a few days after Tuesday’s midterm elections, Biden’s DHS filed an automatic extension in the federal register that will allow more than 305,000 foreign nationals from El Salvador, Honduras, Haiti, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan to remain in the U.S. and hold American jobs. The bulk, about 194,000, are nationals from El Salvador.

Many polls show the public wants to welcome some immigration. But the polls also show deep and broad public opposition to labor migration and to the inflow of temporary contract workers into the jobs needed by the families of blue-collar and white-collar Americans.

This “Third Rail” opposition is growing, anti-establishment, multiracial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based, bipartisan, rational, persistent, and recognizes the solidarity that American citizens owe to one another.
