GAMERY LYING LAWYER JOE BIDEN'S CONTINIED SABOTAGE OF HOMELAND SECURITY - America's Border Remains Open

The federal government is responsible for securing the country's borders.  President Biden has shirked this responsibility.  Biden issued an executive order ending Trump's successful immigration policy.  A few months later, DHS director Mayorkas ended MPP, opening U.S. borders.  Illegal aliens encountered on the southwest border totaled 458,088 in 2020; 1,734,686 in 2021; and 2,766,582 in 2022.  Nobody knows how many aliens have entered the U.S. unencountered.  In 2017, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimated that the cost of illegal immigration to American taxpayers was $116 billion

America's Border Remains Open

President Trump's immigration policy reduced the flow of illegal aliens into the U.S.  This was a significant accomplishment.  One of the most important aspects of Trump's strategy was the "Remain in Mexico" Policy, referred to by DHS as Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).  "The MPP are a U.S. Government action whereby certain foreign individuals entering or seeking admission to the U.S. from Mexico — illegally or without proper documentation — may be returned to Mexico and wait outside of the U.S. for the duration of their immigration proceedings."

President Biden's border policy has been under increasing scrutiny by Democrats.  Gavin NewsomEric AdamsMichael Hancock, and others have complained about his policy publicly.  As a result, Biden announced a new immigration policy on January 5 at the White House.  Biden is expanding a "parole process" put in place for Venezuela "to nationals from Nicaragua, Haiti, and Cuba."  An immigrant with a "qualified sponsor" who is vetted can come to the U.S. and work for two years.  Biden's new policy appears to make it easier for migrants to enter the country legally by streamlining the process and eliminating obstacles.

There are some elements of the policy that could reduce the pressure of illegal immigration.  Illegal aliens will be "increasingly subject to expedited removal to their country of origin and subject to a five-year ban on reentry."  "Individuals who irregularly cross the Panama, Mexico, or U.S. border after the date of this announcement ... will be subject to expulsion to Mexico, which will accept returns of 30,000 individuals per month from these four countries."

Mexico is a country filled with millions of industrious people.  Mexico is polarized.  Hardworking people making an honest living revolve around one pole.  The other pole is dominated by hardworking people making a dishonest living.  The dishonest people are employed by competing cartels that, among other criminal activities, extort tribute from emigrants trying to enter the U.S.

Mexican government authorities are accepting bribes from cartels.  The Guardian interviewed a coyote, Rosario Morales, and reported, "Mexican migration and security forces — including state and local police, the navy, army, and national guard — patrol the highways which Rosales will drive, but the group will not be stopped.  Rosales sends his contacts the travel schedule, and photos of the car and his clients, to guarantee a blind eye.  'Everyone gets paid, so I never have problems,' said Rosales, who claims to spend 70% of what he earns on bribes."  Mexican authorities take bribes from the cartels while accepting U.S. foreign aid to take back 30,000 illegal aliens each month.  Everyone wins except American taxpayers.

Border porosity has made the illegal importation of drugs a deadly problem.  Fentanyl has become the opiate of choice.  It is more powerful than heroin, costs less, is easy to move across the nonexistent border, and kills with increasing frequency.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has apprehended 78 terrorists entering the country illegally.  Nobody knows how many terrorists and criminals have entered the U.S. unencountered.  Criminals rarely check in with authorities when they enter a crime scene.  Mexico and the United States don't control the border between their countries; Mexican cartels do.

Immigration law is covered by USC Title 8.  If a person entering the country illegally has "credible fear of persecution or torture, [he] may seek asylum."  Asylum is the legal loophole that Democrats use to allow the massive influx of illegal aliens.  Biden and Democrats know there may be more terrorists entering the country than people legitimately seeking asylum.  They don't care.  In paragraph (C), Title 8 stipulates, "Any alien who, by fraud or willfully misrepresenting a material fact, seeks ... admission into the United States or other benefit provided under this chapter is inadmissible."  An alien falsely claiming danger or persecution in his homeland to acquire asylum is misrepresenting facts, which makes him inadmissible to the United States.  Federal, state, and local police have authority to arrest aliens in violation of immigration or any other law.

Biden referred to asylum in his policy statement on January 5.  "There are laws to get here legally.  That includes another legal way for someone to come to America by seeking asylum because they're fleeing persecution."  In the same statement, he said, "People come to America for a whole lot of different reasons.  To seek new opportunity in what is the strongest economy in the world.  Can't blame them wanting to do it."  If an alien enters the country illegally to obtain a better job using asylum as a guise, the alien is violating immigration law and is not admissible to the United States.  Biden legitimizes any reason for alien entry.  He still ignores the law.  The border is still open.

There is no coherent policy informing the public why Biden encourages calamity at the border.  Insecure borders invite chaos, suffering, and death for many illegal aliens.  It allows easy entry to cheap and plentiful opiates.  It assures job loss and lower wages for American workers.  Illegal immigration requires an increased consumption of government resources at taxpayer expense.  Why would Democrats implement such a destructive policy?

Democrats want a new immigration bill.  Biden alluded to this in his policy statement: "On my first day in office ... I sent Congress a comprehensive piece of legislation that would completely overhaul what has been a broken immigration system."  Democrats demand a new law that will allow anyone in the country illegally to become a citizen in three years if he meets minimum requirements.  They believe that these new citizens will support Democrat candidates in elections.

Importing new voters dedicated to the success of the Democrat party is now the immigration policy of the United States.  If Biden won't enforce current immigration law, why would he enforce a new law?  Democrats will obtain the goals they seek with the new law and continue to ignore the sections that don't benefit them.

Some Democrats contend that Trump's policies were cruel, forcing people to live in the countries where they were born.  Americans have no obligation to allow unfettered immigration.  The government has no authority to ignore its own laws to open U.S. borders.  The purpose of American government is to ensure the security of its people.  Allowing an amalgam of aliens to take jobs, reduce wages, and absorb resources is not government of, by, and for the people.  It is government of, by, and for the Democrat party.

Democrats will ignore the rule of law so long as they control the mechanisms of government.  They use the government to damage the people they were elected to protect.  They import new voters in a cynical strategy to obtain and retain power.  This is not conjecture.  The evidence strolls across the country's open border every hour.

Joe Biden's El Paso Potemkin Village is buckling before he even gets there

It was all supposed to be so well-scripted and harmonious.

Joe Biden would visit the border at the politically safe, Democrat-led El Paso entry point, make a speech about how well he's doing on his migrant surge crisis, and off camera, someone would clean up the migrant mess in the vicinity to give Joe the backdrop to spin to the public that all was quiet and under control at the border.

Ummm... but in that much chaos, it's really not working out the way he thought it would work out.

It's bad.

Start with the street cleanup effort, which has led to before-and-after tweets making the rounds on the Internet here.

The cleanup included detentions or arrests of migrant squatters.

Now let's get to the reaction from the federally funded illegal alien advocacy NGOs, who suddenly see those arrests as a threat to their rice bowls.

From Telemundo (translation to follow):

Google Translate:

A week before President Joe Biden's visit to El Paso, Texas, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents and El Paso police were caught on video detaining migrants. that they were sleeping in the streets, outside a church and a bus station.

Recordings obtained by our sister network NBC News show border agents patrolling the streets where migrants are staying the night, driving their trucks between silent tents with their sirens flashing.

Immigrant rights advocates allege that arrests outside the church may be in violation of Department of Homeland Security policies.

Telemundo reports that migrant rights advocates are screaming that Joe Biden is violating his own policies by detaining or arresting some 150 migrants, who apparently have a "right" to camp where they please in addition to a "right" to invade and live in the country they please. The policy's open-borders, after all, so you can see why they're upset about it. But what they didn't 'get' was that with Joe Biden, it's open-borders for thee, but not for he, just as the Martha's Vineyard denizens asserted.

It gets worse. The migrants themselves are making a stink.

They're shouting about entering America illegally as "the struggle." Against America? For not letting them march in no questions asked?

They've just gotten here and already they're forming a political movement, making themselves a special interest group, protesting the badness of our country and demanding political spoils as compensation. How's that for chutzpah in a foreign country?

Some are saying Joe Biden is one of them.

They're even organizing been protests against those darn law-abiding Americans for not letting them -- I don't know what -- in? Some say it's a call to "open the border," but the border is open and they certainly are being allowed to live here without fear of deportation -- but all the same, they are protesting that. They always want more.

But they aren't exactly loyal to America. Note the high numbers of Venezuelan flags being waved in this organized protest by the illegal migrants. It's the old wave the flag of the country you are desperate not to be sent back to schtick, pioneered by the Mexicans, picked up by the Central Americans and now a carried flag of the Venezuelans.

Joe Biden has repeatedly told the American people that these migrants are families with needs.

But notice the composition of the groups in El Paso -- military aged single young men.

And apparently they menace U.S. citizens here, much as many must have done as a lifestyle in Caracas, the crime capital of the Americas.

And they glom around the church for refuge, citing Jesus, which is a little hypocritical, given that it's all but certain they never went to church in Venezuela. I've been to masses in Venezuela and the one thing that stuck out about the attendance in these masses was that males there were few and far between, around 5 percent of attendance.

What a string of hypocrisies this amounts to.

The Biden visit is not only all about hypocrisy but based on the scale of the news they are trying to control, it has some amazing potential for, shall we say, uncontrolled outcomes, as Joe Biden makes his campaign stop at the border and announces his plan to issue 360,000 work permits to migrants from the socialist hellholes of the region, calling it a solution and a wrap.

This reporter notes that none of the migrants has plans to take Joe up on his offer for a legal pathway into the U.S. through his vaunted app.

They may know they don't qualify for entry based on their inabilities to pass a basic background check, their criminal records, or their lack of family members in the states already, while their prospects without legal status remain good, what with all the sanctuary cities and states to choose from. Or, they may be wise to the scale of Biden's solution, given that the 360,000 work permit slots should fill up the first day the app is available. Or they may simply have contempt.

They aren't bothering with Joe, and no, they aren't doing his app because they are already here and are ready to get what they want.

Others are openly telling the press about all the great opportunities Joe's opened for them. Here's a selection of quotes with media links from the Washington Examiner:

Just months after Biden was sworn in, after he ended the "Remain in Mexico" policy on Day One and ended Title 42 for families with children, Javier Gomez, his wife, Maria Gomez, and his daughter crossed the border illegally into the U.S. from Mexico. “We sold our house, everything to come,” Javier Gomez told reporters. “In Venezuela, there is no food, no electricity, no medicine, no work,” Maria Gomez added. “We are blessed to have made it.”

Rodrigo Neto, who sold his shop and car to pay for his journey from Brazil, told a similar story. “What we’re hearing back home is that the new president is facilitating entry and there is demand for labor,” Neto told reporters. “I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”

Which should pretty well tell us that these aren't asylum seekers as Joe claims, they are economic migrants, and this trip won't be the smooth scripted narrative affair Joe Biden thinks it will be. Just the male-only migrant protests and the howls of leftist lawyers should keep the reporters busy and their minds off Joe. Already the migrants are gatheirng in numbers at the church cited as Joe's plane has landed:

When you set chaos in motion, the smoothest of plans have a way of running into unforeseen outcomes. Joe doesn't know that, but with the level of chaos he's created at the border, the rest of us do.

Report: Democrat-Run Border City Clears Out Migrant Encampments Ahead of Biden Visit

Democrat-run El Paso, Texas, is clearing out large migrant encampments from downtown streets ahead of a scheduled visit on Sunday by President Joe Biden.

Since last week, police have moved hundreds of migrants to less visible areas of the city, as carjackings, stolen property, and drug distribution spiked with the arrival of thousands of illegal immigrants, the Washington Examiner reported. Law enforcement agencies said businesses have struggled with crime as migrants, primarily from Venezuela, have camped out on city streets.

Biden is visiting the border city ahead of meetings next week in Mexico City with Canadian and Mexican leaders. His visit comes as his administration on Thursday unveiled a policy that permits 30,000 people per month from Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua to obtain temporary work in the United States. The new program will allow migrants to travel directly to the United States, bypassing an asylum application at the southern border, after applying on a mobile app.

El Paso saw more immigrant encounters between August and December last year than in any other city along the border. The Biden administration has overseen more than four million illegal border crossings since the beginning of 2021.

Many migrants encamped in El Paso are there unlawfully, the Examiner reported:

The undertaking began last week after authorities discovered several groups of people on the streets were pretending to have been released by Border Patrol but had never been arrested and were considered unlawfully present. …

Border Patrol agents are not responsible for enforcing local or state laws but have been called in by El Paso police to help with immigration concerns, which only federal police can make arrests for.

"One of the issues is typically Venezuelans who come across illegally can't get shelter from the shelters or [nongovernmental organizations] because they don't have [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] paperwork," said a third federal official.

AND THEIR LIES AND SURRENDER CONTINUE!

The omnibus spending bill, which President Biden signed into law as the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, designates only $60 million to hire 125 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. But it lavishes $410 million towards border security for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman. And it appropriates enough money to hire or contract for 87,000 new IRS agents!

Biden Creates a “Shadow” Immigration System
Washington, D.C. (January 5, 2023) - After ignoring the border crisis for two years, today the Biden administration announced new border policies which includes minor changes to tactics, but no change to long-term strategy.

The administration is expanding its unlawful use of immigration “parole” to admit and give work permits to 30,000 people a month (360,000 a year) from Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua. At the same time, people from these countries who enter between ports of entry will be returned to Mexico, which has agreed to take back up to 30,000 illegal border-crossers a month from those countries. There is no mention of what will happen if the number exceeds 30,000. The Center exposed the development of this program back in November.

CIS Executive Director Mark Krikorian said, “This is merely political damage control. The Biden administration continues to push ‘safe, orderly, and humane processing’ of migrants with no right to enter the U.S., instead of deterring them from trying to come in the first place.”

George Fishman, a Senior Legal Fellow at the Center, said, “President Biden is taking his perversion of the immigration ‘parole’ power to a new low. He is literally pushing the Constitution's separation of powers into the gutter by creating a shadow immigration system totally divorced from the will of Congress and the American people. He plans to proudly parole into the U.S. up to 360,000 otherwise illegal aliens a year with no basis in law, and we know that they will never leave.”

Elizabeth Jacobs, the Center’s director of regulatory affairs and policy, comments, “The Biden administration must close loopholes in the asylum system in order to properly address the border crisis. As long as the administration continues to skirt mandatory detention laws and abuse its parole authority, not much will change.”

Cornyn: Mexico Becoming a ‘Failed State’ on Our Southern Border

1:21

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) said Tuesday on FNC’s “America’s Newsroom” that Mexico is becoming a “failed state” on our southern border.

Anchor Dana Perino asked, “What can our president do to put pressure on the Mexican president to do his job?”

Cornyn said, “We’ve talked a lot about failed states like Afghanistan overseas. We have a failed state, I believe, on our southern border. President López Obrador, there has waved a white flag when it comes to the cartels. As you pointed out, they continue to get rich, smuggling people and drugs into the United States, drugs that took the lives of 108,000 Americans last year alone. I don’t think they’ve been a responsible partner. Basically, President López Obrador said our American agents who were there to try to help them control the flow of people and drugs are no longer welcome in that country. So I’m increasingly concerned is becoming essentially a failed state on our southern border.”

He added, “We need to stop with the current crisis at the border, and then maybe we can have a more rational conversation what comes next. This has been the stumbling point with our Democratic colleagues and White House.”

Joe Biden’s DHS Detains Fewer than 0.2% of All Illegal Aliens Living Across U.S.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is detaining fewer than 0.2 percent of illegal aliens living across the United States, an agency report reveals.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) year-end report shows that DHS is holding just 26,299 illegal aliens in its custody — more than 18,500 of which are recently arrived border crossers arrested by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents, while the remaining 7,780 are illegal aliens who were arrested by ICE agents.

Chart via Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Of those illegal aliens detained by DHS, more than 8,000 have final deportation orders, while 18,250 have not yet been ordered deported from the U.S. by a federal immigration judge.

The tiny population of illegal aliens detained by DHS is less than 0.2 percent of the nation’s entire illegal alien population, which the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates to be roughly 15.5 million as of last year.

If based on Yale University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) 2018 analysis, estimating that there are at least 22 million illegal aliens living in American communities, Biden’s DHS is detaining just 0.1 percent of the overall illegal alien population.

Meanwhile, as Breitbart News reported, there are now more than 1.2 million fugitive illegal aliens — those with final deportation orders — living across the U.S. who have not been located by ICE agents and have refused to self-deport.

The figure suggests that the number of fugitive illegal aliens with final deportation orders living across the U.S. is more than twice the population of Wyoming.

In total, the number of illegal aliens living in American communities who have either final deportation orders or pending deportation orders reached nearly 4.8 million in Fiscal Year 2022 under Biden, a nearly 100 percent increase since Fiscal Year 2017.

Illegal Alien Accused of Setting House on Fire, Trying to Burn Six People Alive

An illegal alien has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to burn six people alive by trapping them in a Robertsdale, Alabama, house that was on fire.

Marlon Pineda-Enamorado, a 38-year-old illegal alien, was arrested and charged this week with first-degree arson in Baldwin County.

According to the Robertsdale Police Lt. Paul Overstreet, Pineda-Enamorado “used an accelerant, gasoline, to light several mattresses on fire inside his room and causing the entire home to be filled with smoke” while six others were inside.

From there, police claim Pineda-Enamorado used a bungee cord to tie up the residence’s front door to prevent the six people trapped inside from getting out of the burning house. Despite the alleged attempt to burn the six people alive, they were all able to escape after firefighters arrived on the scene.

One of the six, a 73-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation.

When police arrived on the scene of the burning house, they said they found Pineda-Enamorado outside the residence holding a gas can. He remains in Baldwin County Jail with an immigration detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Prosecutors expect to bring attempted murder charges against Pineda-Enamorado.

DHS Secretary Mayorkas: ‘Our Entire Hemisphere Is Gripped with a Migration Challenge’

0 seconds of 6 minutes, 0Volume 90%

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that “our entire hemisphere was gripped with a migration challenge.”

Partial transcript as follows:

STEPHANOPOULOS: So, you know, the president’s come under fire from some of his closest allies over these new asylum policies. The ACLU. The head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Several Democratic senators, including Bob Menendez, who called it “an inhumane relic of the Trump administration’s racist immigration agenda.” Your response?

MAYORKAS: George, I – you know, there are three core principles here. Number one, we are dealing within a broken immigration system that Congress has failed to repair for decades. And there is unanimity with respect to that reality. Number one. Number two, the world is dealing with the greatest displacement of people since World War II in the Western Hemisphere. Our entire hemisphere is gripped with a migration challenge.

And, three, we, here in the United States, are premising our actions on the following. We want individuals who qualify for relief under our laws to come to the United States in a safe and orderly way. And that is why we are building lawful pathways so people do not have to place their lives and their life savings in the hands of ruthless smugglers. Those are the three core principles underlying our actions. That’s the reality that we are dealing with.

Mexico Arrests FBI Fugitive Behind Alleged Cartel Execution in Dallas Area

Federal Bureau of Investigations

Mexican authorities arrested a drug lord who is listed as one of the FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitives for his alleged role in ordering the murder of a government informant in a Dallas suburb. On Saturday afternoon Mexican authorities arrested Jose Rodolfo “El Gato” Villarreal, in Mexico City, information released by Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) revealed.

FGR agents, Mexican Marines, and detectives with the  Nuevo Leon State Investigations Agency (AEI), a state entity whose intelligence work and years of investigation into El Gato led to his capture, carried out the operation. The drug lord will face an extradition process as he is one of the FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitives.

Detectives with the AEI had been hunting El Gato for years after the elusive drug lord had been linked to numerous high-profile crimes in the Monterrey metropolitan area. Using aliases and a network of hideouts in Nuevo Leon and in Central Mexico, El Gato spent years on the run prior to his capture and pending extradition.

El Gato was a former Mexican federal cop turned regional boss with the Beltran Leyva Cartel. He later broke away and established his own criminal empire in San Pedro, a wealthy suburb of the Monterrey metropolitan area in the border state of Nuevo Leon. El Gato’s organization quietly established a large-scale extortion operation known as “La Oficina,” or the office, focusing on targeting construction builders, Breitbart Texas reported exclusively. Additionally, La Oficina also reportedly managed a large-scale money laundering operation in San Pedro, which is one of the richest cities in Mexico. In Nuevo Leon, El Gato and his men are reportedly linked to numerous kidnappings, extortion, and murders.

The FBI placed El Gato on their most wanted list in 2020 for ordering a cartel assassination in Southlake, a suburb of Dallas, Breitbart Texas reported. In 2013, gunmen working for El Gato shot and killed Jesus Guerrero Chapa, a Gulf Cartel attorney turned informant, as he was leaving a shopping center in Southlake with his wife. Prior to the murder, El Gato’s men spent 6 months tailing Guerrero Chapa and even used GPS trackers and surveillance cameras.

Five Things Biden Won’t See During El Paso Border Trip

President Joe Biden makes his first-ever visit to the Texas-Mexico border on Sunday. However, circumstances in El Paso are vastly different this week compared to the humanitarian disaster just weeks earlier.

The Biden administration’s border and immigration policies left the city of El Paso in a state of disaster during the month of December. Following Mayor Oscar Leeser’s disaster declaration and the deployment of the Texas National Guard, conditions in the region are now much different. Here are five things President Biden won’t see after actions taken by Texans:

1: Massive Numbers of Migrants Crossing the Border from Mexico to El Paso

During the month of December, El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 56,000 migrants — more than 1,800 per day. That brought the total during the past four months alone to nearly 209,000 migrants. At its peak, nearly 7,400 migrants crossed the border into El Paso over a single weekend — nearly 11,000 in a single week.

This prompted a disaster declaration from El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser.

2: A Wide-Open Border in El Paso

During the months leading up to Biden’s first-ever border visit, migrants freely walked across the Rio Grande by the thousands. Following Mayor Leeser’s disaster declaration, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas National Guard to the city of El Paso to close off the wide-open crossing areas.

National Guardsmen immediately began to erect triple-layer razor wire along known border-crossing areas along the Rio Grande. Guardsmen constructed nearly two miles of fencing in a matter of days.

In the following days, the Texas Division of Emergency Management began stacking shipping containers along the border to fill in gaps.

3: Overcrowded Border Patrol Processing Centers and shelters
In December, the El Paso Sector centralized migrant processing center, designed to hold approximately 3,000 migrants, grew to a population of well over 5,600 migrants, according to the El Paso Migrant Crisis Dashboard operated by the City of El Paso.

This forced the release of more than 10,000 migrants to local NGO shelters and onto the city’s streets as a polar vortex approached. During a four-week period, Border Patrol officials were forced to release nearly 31,000 migrants to El Paso, the dashboard reports.

On Sunday, as President Biden visits El Paso, the Border Patrol center is holding only 978 migrants — down from nearly 6,000 in December, according to the dashboard. The release of migrants into El Paso fell from a peak of nearly 1,500 per day to 327 per day.

4: Migrants Sleeping on Streets in Freezing Conditions
The release of migrants onto the streets of El Paso and overcrowded shelters left thousands of migrants sleeping outdoors in freezing conditions over the Christmas weekend.

The City of El Paso struggled to find additional shelter space as the life-threatening polar vortex descended on the region.

Despite the life-threatening weather conditions, the Biden administration blocked many Venezuelan and other “undocumented migrants” from entering federally funded shelters.

5: Roundup of Venezuelan Migrants Sleeping Outside Churches, Shelters, and Bus Stops

In the days leading up to President Biden’s visit to El Paso, local police and Border Patrol agents began to clean up the streets by arresting hundreds of Venezuelan migrants camped out near churches, shelters, and bus stations, the El Paso Times reported.

“Hundreds of Venezuelans, faced with expulsion to Mexico, crossed into El Paso without turning themselves in to border agents,” the local newspaper stated. “Many were camped on city streets, hopeful they’ll be allowed to remain in the country. Border Patrol made dozens of arrests last week.”

El Paso Matters reported: “The sounds of crowds of people talking, crying, laughing and praying around the streets of Downtown El Paso were silenced overnight Wednesday as U.S. Border Patrol agents swept up large crowds of migrants near the Greyhound bus terminal.”

NBC News reported El Paso police officers assisted in the migrant roundup outside a Catholic church shelter and bus station.

Summary:

It is not known what President Biden will see when he visits the border in El Paso on Sunday. The White House did not disclose in advance who the president will meet with and what he plans to visit during the border trip.

The New York Times stated that Biden’s visit to El Paso “is bound to be awkward. Governor Abbott, who’s actions helped slow the migrant crisis in El Paso, has not announced any plans to meet with the president.

What is clear is the El Paso President Biden Visits on January 8 is much different than the El Paso of just two weeks ago.
