Texas Department of Public Safety troopers charged a Houston man with human smuggling following a high-speed pursuit in Uvalde County. Police later confirmed the man to be a member of the Pyro Bloods gang.

A Texas DPS trooper assigned to the border region under Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border security initiative on the morning of January 22 attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver initially pulled over but then drove back on the highway and sped away.

The DPS trooper pursued the vehicle as the driver reached speeds of up to 115 mph, according to information provided to Breitbart by DPS officials. The pursuit eventually reached the city of Uvalde, Texas, and sped through city commercial and residential streets at speeds of up to 60 mph.

The video shows the driver running stop signs and ignoring traffic lights. At one point, he nearly strikes another vehicle as he pushes his way through traffic.

A Uvalde police officer deployed a tire deflation device taking out the vehicle’s two front tires. The driver then brought the vehicle to a stop.

The DPS trooper carries out a felony traffic stop procedure and safely gets the driver into custody. Other officers then arrest the front-seat passenger.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of three migrants in the rear seat of the sedan. Police officers opened the trunk and found three more migrants in the trunk.

Most of the six migrants wore dark or camouflaged clothing. It is possible the smuggler had picked the migrants up after they marched around an interior immigration checkpoint south of Uvalde.

The trooper arrested the driver, identified as Houston resident Tyler Markel Washington. He faces charges of human smuggling and evading arrest. The DPS Criminal Investigations Division confirmed Washington as a member of the Houston Pyro Bloods gang.

The passenger, Pasadena resident Jamail Williams-Thompson, also faces charges of human smuggling.

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents arrived and took possession of the six migrants who were all determined to be illegally present in the United States. DPS officials did not disclose the migrants’ nationalities.

Two Armed Human Smugglers Arrested in 3 Days near Border in Arizona

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two alleged human smugglers in possession of handguns near the Arizona border with Mexico.

Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin tweeted photos from an incident at the interior immigration checkpoint near Amado, Arizona on Tuesday.

During the immigration inspection, agents found a migrant in the trunk of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the agents found the hidden migrant and a Glock 9 mm pistol.

The agents arrested the driver, a U.S. citizen, and seized the handgun. Modlin did not reveal the nationality of the migrant.

Modlin also tweeted about a second incident that took place two days earlier. A Wilcox Station Border Patrol agent initiated a traffic stop. The agents identified the driver and a passenger as U.S. citizens. The agent also identified a Mexican citizen being smuggled.

The driver became combative during a search of the vehicle, Modlin stated. The search revealed another Glock 9 mm pistol hidden under the driver’s seat.

Both pistols were equipped with rail-mounted targeting lights.

Breitbart Texas has been reporting extensively on the rise of armed human smugglers and the dangers they present to Border Patrol agents and other law enforcement officers.

Three Points Station agents found another armed human smuggler on January 10. The driver had a Smith & Wesson pistol under the seat and was smuggling two migrants from Mexico.

A few days earlier, Texas Rangers began an investigation into the death of an alleged human smuggler. The man died after crashing into the brush following a police pursuit, Breitbart Texas reported. Police found a handgun in the vehicle.

Earlier this month, an armed human smuggler shot an El Paso Sector Border Patrol agent multiple times in the chest, Breitbart Texas reported. The shots struck the agent in the chest multiple times. His body armor saved his life and he was able to return fire, wounding the smuggler.

State and federal law enforcement sources in nearly every sector of the southwest border report increases in armed human smugglers. Officials say this raises concerns for officer safety.

San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke reports a 50 percent increase in the number of firearms seized by agents in his sector. During FY22, which ended on September 30, 2022, San Diego Sector agents seized more than 60 firearms.

“We never know who we’ll encounter as we patrol the border,” Heitke said in a written statement. “Our agents are the first line of defense against smugglers who have become more aggressive and brazen in their attempts to bring people and narcotics into our country.”

Migrants, Bused to NYC, Arrested for Allegedly Stealing $12.5K from Macy’s

Four border crossers, bused from Texas to New York City, were arrested this month after allegedly stealing nearly $12,500 worth of merchandise from a Macy’s department store.

On Monday, the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, New York announced the arrests of 19-year-old Wrallan Cabezas Meza, 30-year-old Jose Garcia Escobar, 21-year-old Miguel Angel Rojas, and 27-year-old Rafael Rojas for allegedly shoplifting at Macy’s.

All of the men are newly arrived border crossers who were bused from Texas to New York City as part of Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) plan to send migrant buses to sanctuary jurisdictions.

In total, nearly $12,500 worth of merchandise was recovered from the four border crossers. Escobar and Rafael Rojas were subsequently released from jail without bail. It is unclear if Meza and Angel Rojas remain in jail on bail.

According to the New York Post, Meza crossed the United States-Mexico border on July 4, 2022 while the others arrived at the border months later in September. All were put on buses by the state of Texas and relocated to New York City.

Angel Rojas and Rafael Rojas, the Post reports, have been living rent-free at the Westin Hotel in Manhattan. A whistleblower recently called out Mayor Eric Adams’ (D) plan that gives lucrative city contracts to a number of hotels willing to house migrants arriving on buses.

According to the whistleblower, border crossers are fighting hotel staff, drinking all day, and having sex in public, among other things.

Last week, Adams pleaded with President Joe Biden to create a federal program that would “fairly distribute” illegal immigration across the U.S. so as to relieve New York City of the burden of accepting tens of thousands of border crossers that have arrived since last spring.
