Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm declined to rule out giving funding to companies with "material operations in China" on Wednesday after a lawmaker pressed her on the Department of Energy’s $200 million announced grant to a lithium battery company that operates primarily out of China.

Granholm’s testimony comes a week after she told another Senate committee that her department is still reviewing the pending grant to lithium battery company Microvast, which the department announced with great fanfare a few weeks before the midterm election last fall.

Lawmakers have criticized the grant, noting Microvast’s extensive business in China. While the company’s registered headquarters is in Texas, it disclosed in its financial report last year that it operates primarily in China and that the Chinese government "exerts substantial influence over the manner in which we must conduct our business activities."

Granholm told Sen. Eric Schmitt (R., Mo.) on Wednesday that "no state-owned enterprise" in China would receive funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

"What about companies that have material operations in China?" Schmitt asked.

Granholm declined to answer directly, saying the DOE is "using this [Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States] vetting program to be able to identify exactly where the control is of a particular technology … and we want to make sure that we are the beneficiaries of those acts and not others."

The exchange came after Schmitt pressed Granholm on the proposed grant to Microvast, which was intended to fund a battery separator facility in Tennessee. He told Granholm that the grant was "concerning."

Although the DOE framed that grant and others as a done deal in an announcement last October—even releasing statements from elected officials praising the funding—Granholm said the awards are still "going through vetting process to ensure that there is no money flowing to countries of concern."

"Those vetting processes are going on, not a dollar has gone out the door yet," she told Schmitt.

The DOE has defended the proposed grant, saying that Microvast is an American company headquartered in Texas.

Wednesday on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) warned the United States’ adversarial situation with Mainland China was unique, unlike any other time in U.S. history.

According to the Arkansas Republican, China was a more significant threat than the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany in the last century.

“Now, Senator, everyone thinks that I talk way too much about China,” Ingraham said. “And I have for what, 25 years now. But other than the cultural Marxists on the Left here in the United States, is there any greater threat to our future than with China and what they’re doing today?”

“No, there’s not, Laura. China is the gravest threat to America, and our way of life, and the other threats really don’t even come close, Cotton replied. “China is maybe the most powerful adversary we faced as a nation in part because, for the last 40 years, we’ve helped grow their economy, which in turn has grown their military. We’ve never faced a competitor like China. Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany — these were not countries that had economies anywhere near the size of ours, that therefore could support a military like ours.”

“And as you laid out in your opening monologue, I mean, Joe Biden is continually behind the power curve when it comes to China,” he added. “And the simple fact is, in world politics, either you run the show or the show runs you. And right now, the show is running Joe Biden, and that’s bad for America.”

Cotton: Joe Biden Has Been Using His Public Office for 50 years to Benefit His Family

During an appearance on Thursday’s broadcast of “The Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) expressed his approval of the House Republican investigations in the Biden family business dealings.

Cotton alleged Biden had used his office for financial benefit for 50 years.

“Laura, my main thoughts are I’m very glad that Jim Jordan, my old friend in the House, is the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, so he can get to the bottom of it because I don’t think Dick Durbin on the Senate Judiciary Committee is going to be probing, yes, but they’re very troubling reports that the IRS and the FBI had been thwarted from investigating Hunter Biden’s dealings which as you say, are not about Hunter Biden, a very troubled but private citizen,” he said. “They’re how the Biden family has been trading on Joe Biden’s public office for 50 years.”

“In other investigations, you have Jim Comer and his committee reviewing the suspicious activity reports that the treasury of money transfers involving the Biden family,” Cotton added. “Again, not just Hunter, but other members of the family. More troubling information appears to be coming out there that Joe Biden has been using his public office for 50 years to benefit his family. And he did it when he was a senator. And he did it when he was vice president. Do we really think he wouldn’t do it when he held the highest land in the office?”

Poll: Majority Believe Biden Family Received Millions from Chinese Government-Linked Sources

A majority of registered voters believe President Joe Biden’s family received millions of dollars from Chinese government-linked sources, a Wednesday Harvard Caps/Harris poll found.

On April 17, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) announced that a total of nine Biden family members may have profited from the family’s international business schemes, six more than previously disclosed. Those currently identified on the payroll are Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden — and a fourth unidentified Biden.

Collectively, the identified Biden family members have received $1.3 million from a Biden associate, who was wired $3 million from a Chinese energy company two months after Joe Biden left the vice presidency.

The poll asked respondents, “Do you think the Biden family received millions of dollars from sources related to the Chinese government or is that a false story?”

Overall, 56 percent said the Biden family did receive money from sources linked to the Chinese government, while 44 percent said it did not receive money.

The majority of independent voters (55 percent) believe the Biden family received funds. Forty-five percent said it did not.

Among Democrats, 68 percent said it was a “false story.” Thirty-two percent said the Biden family received funds tied to the Chinese government.

Republicans overwhelmingly (81 percent) believe the Biden family received the funds. Nineteen percent do not believe the story.

On Tuesday, Breitbart News requested a comment on who the nine family members might be who received millions, but a spokesperson for the committee declined to reveal their identities. The committee did not give a time frame for the reveal that it says is coming eventually.

While the committee has been extremely active behind the scenes, gathering information about the business dealings of the president’s family members, it has not disclosed much of these details yet. Moreover, it remains to be seen if the committee intends to have public hearings with these Biden family members testifying or other public hearings with other witnesses, including the several people the committee says are cooperating from inside the Biden business — or if the committee will release any reports on its findings.

The poll also asked respondents, “Have you recently heard or not heard anything about the banking transactions of the Biden family?”

Fifty-six percent said they have not heard anything about the banking transactions. Forty-four percent said they had heard.

In addition, the poll asked respondents if “Joe Biden participated in his son’s business deals or did Biden does not he never discuss them with his son?”

Fifty-seven percent said Joe Biden did participate, down from 62 percent in February.

The survey sampled 1,845 registered voters from April 18-19. The margin of error was not provided.

Biden Campaign Co-Chair Has Deep China Connections, Met With Xi Jinping

A co-chair for President Joe Biden’s newly announced reelection campaign has connections to the Chinese government. 

Jeffrey Katzenberg, former chairman of Disney and DreamWorks, will be one of the national co-chairs for the president’s 2024 campaign, Biden announced Tuesday. In his years as a corporate CEO, Katzenberg inked deals worth hundreds of millions of dollars with Chinese companies. Katzenberg visited the country every month for years while working out the deals. 

Katzenberg took several meetings with then-vice president of China Xi Jinping, Fox News reported: 

Perhaps most infamously, when Katzenberg was at DreamWorks in 2012, the company announced a multi-billion-dollar deal with the Chinese government to build a production studio in Shanghai.

The deal, which effectively increased the number of U.S. films that could be released in the Chinese market each year, came just days after then-Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with then-President Barack Obama in Washington. 

Xi, now the head of China's ruling Communist Party, traveled after the Obama meeting to Los Angeles, where he met with Katzenberg and both men were featured at a ceremony inking the deal.

Biden also played a central role in pushing Hollywood's entry into Chinese markets during the Obama administration, meeting with Xi multiple times during the Chinese leader's trip to the U.S. in 2012 — with Katzenberg often showing up.

Biden's elevation of Katzenberg to the role comes a month after the administration moved to allow schools with Chinese-funded Confucius Institute chapters to circumvent a ban on receiving federal funds.

The Biden administration is quietly helping American universities that host China's Confucius Institute on their campuses circumvent a ban on receiving federal funds.

The Defense Department in late March announced that it would grant waivers to allow schools to host chapters of the Confucius Institute, a Chinese Communist Party-backed program that Beijing uses to peddle influence and steal intellectual property from American universities. The department’s waiver program is a response to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which barred American colleges and universities from receiving federal dollars if they maintain Confucius Institute chapters.

Lawmakers say the Defense Department is subverting federal law.

"The Chinese Communist Party is subverting U.S. institutions and Joe Biden is sabotaging legislation to stop them," Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), a member of the House Select Committee on China, told the Washington Free Beacon. Banks added that the Biden administration has essentially "greenlit China’s espionage and malign influence operations on college campuses."

The workaround comes amid warnings from the intelligence community that American colleges are a "soft target" for Chinese spies. China has opened at least 100 Confucius Institutes in the United States since 2008, with China pouring more than $158 million into them. The FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies have repeatedly warned that these outposts are "ultimately beholden to the Chinese government" and pose an espionage risk.

But American schools have been hesitant to cut ties with their Confucius Institutes, lest they miss out on the $426 million China has injected into American higher education since 2011. This money funds an array of research projects, with a large portion also coming in the form of gifts to various schools.

Confucius Institutes ostensibly promote cultural exchange and offer language programs. But lawmakers maintain they actually "limit a school’s autonomy by censuring political debate and preventing discussions on certain topics, such as Taiwan and Tibet." These CCP outposts also maintain "contracts with U.S. universities [that] forbid activities that violate Chinese law and require the contract remain confidential, limiting effective oversight."

The NDAA’s bipartisan funding prohibition, which is set to take effect October 1, was meant to force American universities into dropping Confucius Institutes to keep lucrative Pentagon contracts. But the waiver program offers them a lifeline and comes amid parallel efforts by higher education lobbyists to pressure the Biden administration into easing reporting requirements on foreign donations, like those coming from China.

Schools seeking a waiver only need to send the Pentagon a letter affirming that their Confucius Institute supports "academic freedom" and "openness." The schools are also given leeway to self-report to the Defense Department about any changes that may be made to the institution’s relationship with these CCP outposts.

Universities that have active partnerships with the Pentagon also must "demonstrate that it has adequate measures in place to secure information, including information generated by scientific research," according to the guidance. This includes cybersecurity firewalls and prohibitions on Confucius Institute staff gaining access to sensitive research projects.

This could prove difficult for a number of American schools that have been infiltrated by Chinese spies.

Stanford University, for instance, took in $1.9 million from the Defense Department in 2022 to study "multiphase detonation of liquid aeropropulsion fuels," which could apply to advanced military technologies such as hypersonic missiles. The school also employed a Chinese researcher who was acting as a spy for the CCP’s military, according to federal authorities.

The Justice Department has warned at least 60 top colleges that they are susceptible to Chinese espionage operations.

Banks says that his committee is "working overtime" to push back against the waiver program and "win a game of oversight whack-a-mole against a president who is running cover for China."

'Not Normal': Biden Turns White House Into Housing Option for Extended Family

No president in decades has had as many adult relatives taking up residence in the White House than President Joe Biden, who has reportedly turned the official residence into a free housing option for his extended family.

In addition to his son Hunter Biden, who is rumored to be living at the residence to avoid getting served with legal papers in his messy child custody battle, the president’s granddaughter Naomi and her then-fiance Peter Neal also lived at the White House for "a few months" last fall, the couple told Vogue last year. The New York Times noted in passing in a report about their lavish White House wedding that "Ms. Biden and Mr. Neal live at the White House, according to two people familiar with their situation."

Presidential historian Tevi Troy told the Washington Free Beacon that Biden having adult children and other relatives living at the White House is "not normal," but also "not unheard of" in the modern era.

He noted that former president Barack Obama's mother-in-law stayed at the residence "in large part to help with childcare," while former president Harry Truman "had his mother-in-law live in the White House, mostly for nagging." He said former president Gerald Ford's kids, who were in their 20s when their father left office, "were around the White House a lot" as well.

But Biden's relatives appear to be living at the White House for convenience. Naomi Biden, Hunter Biden's oldest child, told Vogue last year that she and her fiance moved into the White House because their apartment lease ran out, and the magazine described their descent from "their living quarters on the third floor of the White House residence to practice their first dance."

With 16 bedrooms, 35 bathrooms, a full-time chef and a team of staff, the White House is far more extravagant than even the $12,000-per-month Hollywood Hills home that Hunter Biden lived in three years ago while refusing to pay child support.

Naomi Biden and her husband lived in a suite on the third floor of the residence, the same level where former president Zachary Taylor reportedly housed slaves. The floor has been modernized and now features a gym, a billiards room, a solarium, and a room where Hillary Clinton housed her Eleanor Roosevelt memorabilia.

"I try to remind myself it’s the White House, but it also gets normalized over time," Naomi Biden said. She and her husband were also married on the White House's South Lawn, the first time a president's grandchild has used the Executive Mansion as a wedding venue.

These living arrangements could pose a security risk because the extended family members have easy access to the West Wing and White House offices where sensitive business is conducted, according to former White House ethics counsel Richard Painter.

"The problem is that people who stay in the residence with the president have access to the entire building," Painter told the Free Beacon. "There’s nobody sitting at a guard desk keeping you from going from the residence to the West Wing."

Painter said family members living at the house "should be staying out of the West Wing unless they’re accompanied" by the president or authorized staff.

"What you don’t want is family members just drifting on down there on their own or even being invited down there and getting involved in official meetings," he added. "They need to stay away from U.S. government business."

The Bidens are no strangers to housing drama. After Hunter Biden's affair with his late brother's widow Hallie ended badly in Delaware, he fled to California where he said he spent weeks holed up in a luxury Chateau Marmont hotel suite, where he cooked crack on the stove. President Biden's niece, Caroline, turned to her family to help her find housing while serving probation for credit card theft—time she wanted to spend in Los Angeles, the Free Beacon reported. Hunter Biden was tasked by the family to find her an apartment in California, but he failed to do so.

Naomi Biden and her husband have recently moved out of the White House to live in nearby Georgetown, the neighborhood she grew up in as a child, according to a source familiar with the couple.

According to the New York Post, her father Hunter Biden has been repeatedly spotted boarding Marine One for weekend and official trips out of town with his father, fueling a "rumor in Washington, D.C." that he lives at the residence. The Post reported that an "elaborate swing set suitable for a toddler" was also spotted last year at the White House, prompting speculation that Hunter Biden’s three-year-old son and wife Melissa Cohen might be living there as well.

Hunter Biden has been locked in a messy child support dispute with Lunden Alexis Roberts, his former mistress, with whom he has a four-year-old daughter. An Arkansas judge ruled on Tuesday that Hunter Biden will have to attend a court hearing in person in May, and he is currently fighting a request by Roberts to change their daughter’s name to "Biden."

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Harken back to 20 January 2021 when the doddering fool who occupies the Bully Pulpit was inaugurated.  He appointed Nicholas McQuaid, a White House lawyer during the Obama presidency, as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division.

Why should we care?  McQuaid was a colleague of Chris Clark, the lawyer Hunter Biden hired in December 2020 to assist with his federal tax problems.  A month later Joe Biden appointed McQuaid to oversee the agency that began its investigation of Hunter's tax situation in 2018.

Does Joe's timing look suspicious?  Do you think McQuaid influenced the Hunter Biden tax investigation?  Why revisit this issue?

Because it has become current.  As Matt Steib says, "It's Raining Hunter Biden News."  Federal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with a felony count of tax evasion.  That consideration is now causing frustration "within the FBI about the amount of time prosecutors are spending weighing possible criminal charges against first son Hunter Biden for alleged tax evasion."

In addition, an IRS whistleblower, a criminal supervisory special agent who has been overseeing an ongoing case involving Hunter Biden's tax returns, alleges that Hunter Biden got special treatment in the form of "political interference and improper handling of the case by the Biden administration."

The whistleblower is seeking protection so he can publicly testify to Congress.  He says he has proof that Merrick Garland, Biden's AG, lied to Congress while under oath when he insisted the Hunter Biden investigation was free from political interference and that the attorney in charge had full autonomy.

Joe Biden dismissed the allegations that the investigation had been influenced by politics.

Here's another current Biden item.  Recall, if you will, the infamous 'Russian Disinformation' letter, the one signed by fifty-one former intelligence types.  Joe Biden's presidential campaign prompted former acting CIA Director Mike Morell to 'help Biden' by having fifty colleagues sign a letter falsely claiming that damning e-mails from Hunter Biden's laptop published by The NY Post were 'Russian disinformation.'

We learned, as of last Thursday, about the source of the letter.  Former CIA deputy director Michael Morell (a potential CIA director under Biden), in private sworn testimony, told the House Judiciary Committee that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, when serving as an adviser to papa Joe Biden's 2020 campaign, contacted the CIA after the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop were published in the NY Post on 17 October 2020.  On the laptop was an email suggesting Hunter had introduced his Ukrainian business partner to his father, then-Vice President Biden.  Morell testified that he invented the letter to help Vice President Biden... because I wanted him to win the election.'  Until Blinken's call, Morell said had no intention of writing any letter exonerating Biden. But he acknowledged that the conversation with Blinken 'triggered... that intent.'  The result of Blinken's contact was a letter from former intelligence officials saying the Post story had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Morell gathered signatures from 51 former intelligence officials, including four other former CIA directors, two of whom were John Brennan and Leon Panetta.  He then sent an email to Nick Shapiro (former deputy chief of staff to Brennan) that the Biden campaign desired the letter go to a particular reporter at the Washington Post, and to the Biden campaign as well.  Shapiro subsequently took the letter to Politico, which published it on 19 October under the heading, 'Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former officials say.'

Aside: the Politico people are showing what hypocrites they are.  They remain silent in the face of conclusive evidence they published incorrect information.  Will they ever print a retraction?  I'm not holding my breath.

The letter was used by Joe Biden during the debate with Donald Trump to stave off accusations (which, we have learned, were factual) about his involvement in his family's international influence-peddling schemes, many of which had amassed millions of dollars from China and Ukraine while he was vice president.

Morell testified that after the 22 October debate, Steve Ricchetti, chairman of the Biden campaign, phoned to thank him for writing the letter.  The call was organized by fellow signatory Jeremy Bash (Leon Panetta's former chief of staff, now an MSNBC security analyst appointed by President Biden to a role on his Intelligence Advisory Board), "who I work with at Beacon [Beacon Global Strategies] and who is active politically."

Republicans in both houses were quite annoyed by Morell's disclosure.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), called the letter, "'a political operation' that 'became the basis for suppressing the story and keeping it from the American people just days before the most important election that we have, the election for president of the United States."  He added, "It is apparent that the Biden campaign played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election..."

The State Department has refused to comment about Morell's claim.  Spokesman Vedant Patel said, "That is not a State Department issue."

Again, why should we care about these shenanigans?  Because these are three more episodes in an ever-widening and never-ending pattern of corruption and influence-peddling from Biden, his family, and his administration.

What Biden et al have done and continue to do is unbelievable.  What's next?

Harken back to 20 January 2021 when the doddering fool who occupies the Bully Pulpit was inaugurated.  He appointed Nicholas McQuaid, a White House lawyer during the Obama presidency, as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division.

Why should we care?  McQuaid was a colleague of Chris Clark, the lawyer Hunter Biden hired in December 2020 to assist with his federal tax problems.  A month later Joe Biden appointed McQuaid to oversee the agency that began its investigation of Hunter's tax situation in 2018.

Does Joe's timing look suspicious?  Do you think McQuaid influenced the Hunter Biden tax investigation?  Why revisit this issue?

Because it has become current.  As Matt Steib says, "It's Raining Hunter Biden News."  Federal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with a felony count of tax evasion.  That consideration is now causing frustration "within the FBI about the amount of time prosecutors are spending weighing possible criminal charges against first son Hunter Biden for alleged tax evasion."

In addition, an IRS whistleblower, a criminal supervisory special agent who has been overseeing an ongoing case involving Hunter Biden's tax returns, alleges that Hunter Biden got special treatment in the form of "political interference and improper handling of the case by the Biden administration."

The whistleblower is seeking protection so he can publicly testify to Congress.  He says he has proof that Merrick Garland, Biden's AG, lied to Congress while under oath when he insisted the Hunter Biden investigation was free from political interference and that the attorney in charge had full autonomy.

Joe Biden dismissed the allegations that the investigation had been influenced by politics.

Here's another current Biden item.  Recall, if you will, the infamous 'Russian Disinformation' letter, the one signed by fifty-one former intelligence types.  Joe Biden's presidential campaign prompted former acting CIA Director Mike Morell to 'help Biden' by having fifty colleagues sign a letter falsely claiming that damning e-mails from Hunter Biden's laptop published by The NY Post were 'Russian disinformation.'

We learned, as of last Thursday, about the source of the letter.  Former CIA deputy director Michael Morell (a potential CIA director under Biden), in private sworn testimony, told the House Judiciary Committee that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, when serving as an adviser to papa Joe Biden's 2020 campaign, contacted the CIA after the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop were published in the NY Post on 17 October 2020.  On the laptop was an email suggesting Hunter had introduced his Ukrainian business partner to his father, then-Vice President Biden.  Morell testified that he invented the letter to help Vice President Biden... because I wanted him to win the election.'  Until Blinken's call, Morell said had no intention of writing any letter exonerating Biden. But he acknowledged that the conversation with Blinken 'triggered... that intent.'  The result of Blinken's contact was a letter from former intelligence officials saying the Post story had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Morell gathered signatures from 51 former intelligence officials, including four other former CIA directors, two of whom were John Brennan and Leon Panetta.  He then sent an email to Nick Shapiro (former deputy chief of staff to Brennan) that the Biden campaign desired the letter go to a particular reporter at the Washington Post, and to the Biden campaign as well.  Shapiro subsequently took the letter to Politico, which published it on 19 October under the heading, 'Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former officials say.'

Aside: the Politico people are showing what hypocrites they are.  They remain silent in the face of conclusive evidence they published incorrect information.  Will they ever print a retraction?  I'm not holding my breath.

The letter was used by Joe Biden during the debate with Donald Trump to stave off accusations (which, we have learned, were factual) about his involvement in his family's international influence-peddling schemes, many of which had amassed millions of dollars from China and Ukraine while he was vice president.

Morell testified that after the 22 October debate, Steve Ricchetti, chairman of the Biden campaign, phoned to thank him for writing the letter.  The call was organized by fellow signatory Jeremy Bash (Leon Panetta's former chief of staff, now an MSNBC security analyst appointed by President Biden to a role on his Intelligence Advisory Board), "who I work with at Beacon [Beacon Global Strategies] and who is active politically."

Republicans in both houses were quite annoyed by Morell's disclosure.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), called the letter, "'a political operation' that 'became the basis for suppressing the story and keeping it from the American people just days before the most important election that we have, the election for president of the United States."  He added, "It is apparent that the Biden campaign played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election..."

The State Department has refused to comment about Morell's claim.  Spokesman Vedant Patel said, "That is not a State Department issue."

Eric Swalwell resorts to profanity during a House Hearing

Democrats are violating almost every norm that was once regarded as sacrosanct, and in doing so, they are dragging one of the world’s largest democracies and only superpower into the muck of petty third world country politics.

Yesterday, Democrat House member Eric Swalwell resorted to expletives during a hearing of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement as he questioned an expert witness.

The vile Swalwell is among the foremost hoaxers in D.C. who earned prominence among Democrats and infamy among some Republicans for being a leading amplifier of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

It was often obvious that Swalwell was engaging in impromptu fabrication.

Swalwell knew he would face no challenge in the echo chambers of D.C. or in the PR agencies of the Democrats that masquerade as news agencies, both of whom were still reeling under the shock of being defeated in a presidential election by Donald J. Trump.

The sustained disinformation campaign pushed by the likes of Swawell eventually led to the Mueller probe. Mueller’s team exclusively consisted of establishment loyalists who were indignant about Trump’s victory.

When challenged for making baseless allegations, Swawell would merely reply “Let the Mueller probe continue”, ergo President Trump was guilty until proven innocent.

In the end, the Mueller probe found no evidence of collusion, but the disgraced attorney maliciously and purposefully worded his report in a manner that left a cloud of doubt hanging over Trump.

The probe lasted for almost two years, cost taxpayers nearly $32 million, and doubtlessly retarded the speed at which Trump implemented an America first agenda.

Ideally, a disgraceful hoaxer such as Swalwell should have been ridiculed and banished from politics.

He was part of an attempted coup to unseat a duly elected president. This was an attack on U.S. democracy — it could be termed an insurrection.

But instead of facing chastisement and punishment Swalwell was promoted by the Democrats and reelected.

This is more evidence of the falling standards in D.C. and the level of indoctrination of the electorate.

Now for the hearing that occurred yesterday….

Swalwell dedicated his question time to interrogating border security advocate Sheena Rodriguez about her presence on the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, 2021.

This was ludicrous, but Swalwell has made a career out of being preposterous so it should come as no surprise.

Swalwell’s grilling was so intolerable and unrelated to the agenda of the hearing that a Republican lawmaker asked him to yield, but the odious Swalwell declined and continued to rant until his time expired.

That’s when Republican Troy Nehls interjected, and per New York Post:

‘I apologize that you had to – you’re here for a hearing on the border, [Democrats] don’t want to talk about a border,’ Nehls told Rodriguez, who was at the hearing to testify about the exploitation of migrant children she claimed to have witnessed during more than three dozen visits to the US-Mexico border.

‘Mr. Swalwell is down there, obviously everyone knows he’s made some comments,’ Nehls continued.

‘He’s got a checkered past. His alleged relationship –’

Swalwell was shown the mirror.

Since November 2016, he has been making baseless allegations against President Trump.

How did he react to a very valid assessment of his purported past upon seeing his reflection?

The sanctimonious always lack self-awareness; in Swawell’s mind he can do no wrong. 

Also reported:

‘I’m sorry, a checkered past?’ Swalwell asked.

‘It’s my time!’ Nehls responded. 

‘Alleged affairs – relationship – with Yum-Yum.’

‘No, no, no, no, no,’ shouted an unhinged Swalwell.

‘You do not get to say that s–t. That’s not true.’

Clearly, profanity is the last resort of the vacuous.

The confrontation continued:

‘He had alleged relationships with Yum-Yum,’ Nehls continued, ‘and now he’s angry.’

Of course, “Yum-Yum” is “Fang-Fang” or Christine Fang, an alleged spy for the Chinese Communist Party who accessed American privileges when she came as a college student in 2011. Fang is purported to have spent four years attempting to honeytrap lawmakers, and as Axios noted, “Among the most significant targets of Fang’s efforts was Rep. Eric Swalwell….”

The alleged affair cost Swalwell a seat on the Intelligence Committee, and Speaker Kevin McCarthy rightly observed that Swalwell had “severely undermined [the committee’s] primary national security and oversight missions – ultimately leaving our nation less safe.”

Democrat Pramila Jayapal demanded that Nehls’s comments be expunged, saying “It was a direct slur on a member of this committee that is not acceptable”.

When the hearing resumed, Nehls did what most Republicans do in D.C. — he capitulated. Yet, thankfully Nehls didn’t issue any apology.

Since 2016, the Democrats have been spreading hoax after hoax about President Trump but none has ever issued a retraction or even “rephrased” their baseless allegations.

But here, despite being in a majority, the Republican was forced to walk back his comments that are suspiciously likely to be rooted in fact.

Perhaps Nehls should have added that Swalwell’s liaison with an alleged Chinese Spy needs to be probed, and only when he is proven innocent will he retract his allegation.

Last week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene also highlighted the dubious relationship between Swalwell and Fang when she said of Swalwell, “[he] had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy — and everyone knows it.”

Swalwell’s fellow Democrats — lower Manhattan and brownstone Brooklyn Rep. Daniel Goldman — moved to strike the words from the record.  However, in Greene’s case, Republicans on the committee declined to remove or alter her statement.

So what does one make of all this?

These are nothing more than amateur theatrics on the part of Republicans.

These displays make amusing viewing on YouTube and other social media platforms with catchy captions like “Nehls humiliated Swalwell” or “Marjorie Taylor Greene destroys Swalwell”.

For Republican voters starved for some sort of justice, this is some form of punishment for the likes of Swalwell.

The Republicans know that voters conflate these theatrics with actions and hence they engage in the act before the cameras.

If Swalwell did indeed have a prolonged affair with a Chinese spy and did pass or sell sensitive information to an adverbial foreign power, he instead deserves to be punished, not merely trolled.

Ideally, Swalwell would be forced to step down from Congress until a probe uncovers exactly what happened; if found guilty he will have committed treason, the very crime of which he accused Trump.

Powerful members of Congress must direct their energies to probing and punishing Swalwell if he is guilty; trolling must be left to social media influencers.

Voters must demand higher standards from their representatives.

Joe Biden's hate-speech re-election bid

Here is the NPR headline, April 26, for its Biden-is-seeking-re-election story: "Biden warns of rights under threat from Trump and 'MAGA extremists' in reelect launch."

This headline provides eloquent evidence that our president will try to demagogue his way back into the Oval Office come January 20, 2025.

But more: Please check out this excerpt from the Biden April 25 video announcement, as quoted at Rolling Stone (efforts to unearth the full text of the Biden re-election statement have been unavailing):

"Around the country, MAGA extremists are lining up to take on those bedrock freedoms," he warned as images of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump, and Ron DeSantis quickly flashed across the screen. "Cutting Social Security you've paid for your entire life while cutting taxes for the wealthy. Dictating what health care decisions women can make. Banning books. Telling people who they can love. All while making it more difficult to vote."

This passage amounts to sheer political hate speech, indicating that the incumbent hopes to win another presidential term by throwing demagoguery into a cauldron marked "the politics of hate."  Biden hasn't backed down from his disgraceful assault on former president Trump and MAGA patriots in Philadelphia, September 1: "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic."

Biden is running on this example of hateful demagoguery to fool the American people into giving him another four years — in effect, to force the American people to accept leftist, woke lies as truth — the way, in Orwell's 1984, O'Brien forced Winston Smith to say O'Brien's outstretched four fingers are five fingers.

Indeed, Biden's three-minute statement of candidacy could be seen as a variation on the "Two Minutes Hate" of the Orwell novel.  Look again at the Biden paragraph cited above: "Around the country, MAGA extremists are lining up to take on ... bedrock freedoms[.]"  That is a despicable falsehood from a public official whose entire public life has ranged the lamentable gamut from plagiarism to disinformation — all for the purpose of personal ambition.

Biden would reduce the glorious MAGA aim — Make American Great Again — into RAT reality: Reduce America to Tawdriness.

The announcement of Biden's 2024 bid for re-election ignored two salient developments this week: word that by some bureaucratic sleight-of-hand, mortgages are to vary inversely with the credit rating of the borrower: higher interest rates for good credit and lower rates for bad credit.  This is a program, no doubt, aimed at nationalizing the economy into totalitarian state control.  Consider this policy: if a family has a high credit core, under Bidenomics, that family is to be punished.  Bidenomics — defined as turning a thriving economy into a wasteland.

No less disheartening, this week, was word that defense officials at the Pentagon were not at all reluctant to cheer — anonymously, wouldn't you know? — the ouster of Tucker Carlson at Fox News.  Since when are defense officials supposed to take sides on matters of public import?  House Armed Service Committee chairman Mike Rogers should hold hearings on this stark rejection of military protocol.

In brief, we already have clear indications that Biden's Politics of Hate will lead to economic disaster and a military loyal not to the Constitution, but to Joe Biden.

Add to this sorry mix the insight from Julie Kelly, at American Greatness, that the trial of the Proud Boys, in Washington, D.C. did not take place in a level courtroom.

Among the horrors made evident by this case is the inescapable fact that most of these defendants languished before trial, in a Washington jail, for two years — notwithstanding the Sixth Amendment "right to a speedy and public trial."

The American people cannot claim ignorance should Biden be "re-elected" to a second term.  It surely will bring us the hallmarks of totalitarianism: state control of the economy; a military loyal to an individual, not the Constitution; and political show trials.  Oh, yes, and the conviction of Douglass Mackey means that political satire will become a criminal offense with von Bidenburg elected to a second term.

Biden Vows to Veto Bipartisan Plan Reversing His Tariff Waivers for China

President Joe Biden is doubling down on his suspension of United States tariffs on suspected China-made solar panels, vowing to veto a bipartisan plan that would reverse his tariff waivers.

In June 2022, Biden announced a 24-month tariff moratorium on solar panel imports from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Commerce Department officials suspect that the solar panels are actually made in China but have been routed through the four southeast Asian nations to avoid U.S. tariffs on China-made solar panels.

The suspension of tariffs came even as Biden’s Commerce Department found that BYD Hong Kong rerouted its production through Cambodia, Canadian Solar, and Trina through Thailand, and Vina Solar through Vietnam for the sole purpose of avoiding the tariffs.

This month, House Republicans, as well as Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) on the House Ways and Means Committee, voted to pass a resolution that would reverse Biden’s tariffs waivers. The resolution is expected to go to the House floor in the coming weeks.

Biden’s White House, in a statement, told Reuters that it “strongly opposes” the plan, claiming it would “sabotage U.S. energy security.”

“It’s not about slowing things down,” Ali Zaidi, Biden’s climate adviser, told Reuters. “It’s about fundamentally undermining our progress towards increased energy security and having the tools we need to attack the climate crisis.”

Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI) blasted Biden’s statement, telling Reuters that “China has been found to have violated our trade laws, yet the United States has failed to respond, including suspending tariffs and letting their unlawful behavior go unanswered.”

From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy — 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.

Those massive job losses have coincided with a booming U.S.-China trade deficit. In 1985, before China entered the World Trade Organization (WTO), the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled $6 billion. In 2019, the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled more than $345 billion.

While skyrocketing U.S. trade deficits have led to devastation across America’s working- and middle-class communities over the last two decades, tariffs would be a boon for reshoring jobs and boosting wages, studies show.

A study from economists at the Coalition for a Prosperous America finds that tariffs on nearly all foreign imports would create about ten million American jobs while boosting domestic output.

Republicans in both houses were quite annoyed by Morell's disclosure.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), called the letter, "'a political operation' that 'became the basis for suppressing the story and keeping it from the American people just days before the most important election that we have, the election for president of the United States."  He added, "It is apparent that the Biden campaign played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election..."

The State Department has refused to comment about Morell's claim.  Spokesman Vedant Patel said, "That is not a State Department issue."

Here's another bit of current Biden news.  House Oversight Committee Chairman Representative James Comer (R-KY) said last Friday that, "...multiple members of the Biden family were involved in 'shady' overseas dealings and labeled them 'tax cheats.'"  Comer continued, "...let me reiterate this: it's the Biden family.  It's not just Hunter Biden and Joe Biden.  It's multiple members of this family that have been receiving questionable sums of money for reasons that we haven't yet determined.  But I can tell you, it's all pointing back to Joe Biden and as I said on Sean Hannity's show the other day, the walls are closing in on the Biden family.  It's not just the president's son.  It's the entire family, including the President of the United States."

Again, why should we care about these shenanigans?  Because these are three more episodes in an ever-widening and never-ending pattern of corruption and influence-peddling from Biden, his family, and his administration.

What Biden et al have done and continue to do is unbelievable.  What's next?

Cotton: Joe Biden Has Been Using His Public Office for 50 years to Benefit His Family

During an appearance on Thursday’s broadcast of “The Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) expressed his approval of the House Republican investigations in the Biden family business dealings.

Cotton alleged Biden had used his office for financial benefit for 50 years.

“Laura, my main thoughts are I’m very glad that Jim Jordan, my old friend in the House, is the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, so he can get to the bottom of it because I don’t think Dick Durbin on the Senate Judiciary Committee is going to be probing, yes, but they’re very troubling reports that the IRS and the FBI had been thwarted from investigating Hunter Biden’s dealings which as you say, are not about Hunter Biden, a very troubled but private citizen,” he said. “They’re how the Biden family has been trading on Joe Biden’s public office for 50 years.”

“In other investigations, you have Jim Comer and his committee reviewing the suspicious activity reports that the treasury of money transfers involving the Biden family,” Cotton added. “Again, not just Hunter, but other members of the family. More troubling information appears to be coming out there that Joe Biden has been using his public office for 50 years to benefit his family. And he did it when he was a senator. And he did it when he was vice president. Do we really think he wouldn’t do it when he held the highest land in the office?”

American people deserve to know what China was up to with Joe Biden, especially when Beijing had already shelled out millions of dollars to Biden family members — including millions in set-asides for “the big guy.” What else is on that infamous Hunter Biden laptop? Appointment in Chicago -- Democrats and Destiny

We, destiny, and the Democrats have an appointment in Chicago for a presidential convention.

Writer John O’Hara recalled a preordained encounter with the Angel of Death in Appointment in Samarra, but this is different.  The Democrats see impending doom but have chosen to embrace it, not to escape it.

Many polls show most U.S. voters -- even most Democrats -- do not want Joe Biden to lead the United States.  Democrat Party leaders do not seem to care.

Picking America’s crime capital as their venue and reconfirming a corrupt, senile idiot as their leader, the Democrats may next change their name to the Donkey Party or the Jackass Party.

Why the hell not? Joe Biden and Chicago: what could be more appropriate? 

For over 30 years, Joseph R. Biden Jr. was the dumbest and most unoriginal man in the U.S. Senate, focused on what was on his head -- transplanted hair -- rather than what was not in his head -- knowledge or wisdom.

Yet, wondrously, both the outside and the inside of Biden’s head remained largely empty. Transplanted hair somehow refused to grow on top of thoughtless terrain.

Biden famously stole entire speeches from foreign leaders while brazenly claiming a “brilliant” academic record and numerous other personal achievements. He testified about driving an 18-wheeler truck, about emerging straight out of a coal mine, about facing down a sinister gang leader named “Corn Pop.”

“Thou shalt bear false witness, as often as possible, especially if talking about  yourself,” was Biden’s version of the ninth of the Ten Commandments. Clasping his heart, he swore he was a religious man who fondled women, who took showers with his daughter, and who allegedly sexually assaulted a staffer.

The people of Delaware, a former slave state, seemed enslaved to Biden’s “charm,” ignored his little faults. Delaware sent him back to the Senate time and again, and the fawning media covered over his transgressions with an “aw shucks, that’s just Joe being Joe” attitude.

In Washington where “seniority” and “senior moments” go together, Joe Biden became more powerful, a veritable institution. From the youngest senator, Biden rose to be chair of key Senate committees -- judiciary and international affairs. At public hearings, he often displayed ineptitude and downright ignorance, even showing racist views when questioning people like Clarence Thomas or Thomas Sowell.

Along the way, Senator Biden ran for president several times, and people laughed, until he fumbled his way to be Barack Obama’s vice president.  The “experts” in the media -- you know, the chin pullers at NY Times, WaPo, CBS, CNN, NBC and ABC -- all assured us that Biden would be the “gray eminence” or “the mature foreign policy expertise” that would guide the young Obama.  Not really.

President Obama was a complete foreign policy disaster, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who brought destruction everywhere he touched. Obama, encouraged by Biden, had a special message for the Mideast: chaos in Libya, cash and atomic bombs for Iran, Muslim Brothers in Egypt, outright destruction in Syria.

What foreign policy genius:  Obama-Biden undermined America’s role in the Mideast and weakened our best ally Israel while ushering Russia into the region. That Nobel Peace Prize looks like a travesty to end all travesties: Hundreds of thousands of dead and millions of refugees flooding Europe.

But wait, there’s more: Obama-Biden undermined the U.S. in South America and emboldened China in Asia. Obama also encouraged the aggression of Vladimir Putin: we heard him on an open microphone.

To his credit, Obama did not listen to Biden when Joe the Foreign Policy Expert advised against killing Osama Bin-Laden. So give Obama credit for getting one thing right. Obama was also right about one other thing.

“Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f--- things up,” President Obama once privately said.  “You know, Joe, you don’t have to do this (i.e. run for president),” Obama added, but Democrat “elders” grabbed Biden as their choice to prevent the nomination of Vermont’s leftist crypto-communist senator, Bernie Sanders.

So veteran congressman and power broker James Clyburn got Biden a victory in the 2020 South Carolina primary, and the party elders united around Biden, pushing other candidates out of the race. Meanwhile media aided the plan to keep “Good Ole Joe” under wraps at home, supposedly because of Covid-19 virus concerns.

Today, we all know the truth. No amount of censorship or tweaking at Twitter, Facebook, or Google can hide the amazing amount of hard evidence of Biden family corruption and Joe Biden’s personal mental disintegration.

From the computer of Hunter Biden and other sources, we know China and Ukraine have both invested in the Biden family. This cannot be hidden any longer. Similarly, Biden’s own personal decline cannot be hidden. 

Despite the strained efforts of the main media. Biden rarely has a real workday, is unable to take two consecutive office appointments, is almost always on vacation or taking some down-time.

There are two central truths about Biden:

• The man who cannot complete a sentence without lying is now the man who cannot complete a sentence.
• The man who cannot go a day without lying is now someone who cannot go a day without lying down. 

For Joe Biden, the signs of mental decline are clear, even for an idiot. So are the signs of overmedication.

So, full speed ahead, Democrats exult, as they announce they are off on the road to Chicago (with a scheduled pit stop at another South Carolina primary) just as a mass mob marauds downtown, attacking tourists.

So who will Biden and the Democrats meet destiny at their Appointment in Chicago? One thing is sure: those who count on the United States are preordained to a doleful destiny if the U.S. is led by the Donkey Party.

Meanwhile, let’s get the media to play the typical distraction game: “All of you look over here at Donald Trump and his insurrection boys and his porn star girls.”
