AND YOU WONDERED WHY THE ONCE GOLDEN STATE OF CA IS IN MELTDOWN?!? - Newsom muscles Temecula school board into accepting his wokester curriculum ... or else

NEWSOM SHOULD BE MORE WORRIED ABOUT THE MEX CARTELS SETTING UP OPERATIONS IN NORTHERN CA, OR MEX GANG MURDERS

That's right about when Joe Biden opened the U.S. border, the homeless-industrial complex ballooned into a surge of homelessness, and Soros district attorneys started running blue cities into the ground by effectively refusing to enforce laws against criminals.

Newsom muscles Temecula school board into accepting his wokester curriculum ... or else

Should elected local school boards decide what kind of education the children of their district should get, or should Gavin Newsom?

Newsom, as he always does, says 'me.'

Here is his latest strongarm of the Temecula Valley Unified School District, as described by Yahoo! News:

Days after Gov. Gavin Newsom threatened to fine a Southern California school district $1.5 million over its rejection of a state-approved social studies curriculum, the school board unanimously voted to adopt a compromise version of the curriculum on Friday.

The Temecula Valley Unified School Board held an emergency meeting to adopt the elementary curriculum, though it will pull one fourth grade unit that discusses the gay rights movement for further review, the Los Angeles Times reported.

In May, the school board voted 3-2 to reject the elementary social studies curriculum that mentions gay rights activist Harvey Milk, and did so again last week. School board President Joseph Komrosky referred to California’s first openly gay elected official as a “pedophile” and questioned why he would be featured, calling it “morally reprehensible,” The Bee reported.

So much for parental rights -- and local control.

This was a naked, political muscling with draconian consequences employed in contradiction to the decision of the community, led by its locally elected leaders, to not teach sex to children under the age of 11. Newsom not only threatened the district with a $1.5 million fine if they didn't play ball with his pre-chosen textbook contractor and its wokester curriculum, which featured a section on the greatness of gay elected leader Harvey Milk, who also had a record of sexual coercion and pedophilia, Newsom also used menacing language in his statement about it, and implied that a "civil rights investigation" he had launched against them would have a rigged, preordained result. Look at how he uses language here:

“Demagogues who whitewash history, censor books, and perpetuate prejudice never succeed. Hate doesn’t belong in our classrooms and because of the board majority’s antics, Temecula has a civil rights investigation to answer for.”

I thought investigations were done with no fear or favor, in order to find something out, and not as an instrument to punish a disfavored political foe.

Does this sound like an investigation to find something out, or to pin something on someone as political retaliation for defying his orders?

We all know what it is.

In doing this, Newsom outs himself as a political thug, with nothing but contempt for local rule.

Temecula is a conservative little city of 110,000 just north of San Diego in the southwestern corner of Riverside County. I've been there many times; as someone who once made frequent 124-mile trips between San Diego and Los Angeles, Temecula was always the perfect little stopover, a cutesy cowboy-Western town full of nice cafes, American flags, street posters featuring military veterans, decent Mexican food, and regalia related to its status as an avocado-growing and honey-producing center as well as the capital of Southern California's wine country. It's always a great place to visit.

The biographies of the three elected school board members he's got a bead on are all pretty impressive, all of them deeply rooted in their community as well as firm advocates of parental rights in education, which is why they got elected:

Here's board president Joseph Komrosky:

Dr. Joseph Komrosky holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Claremont Graduate University and is a tenured college professor teaching logic full-time at Mount San Antonio College. He also teaches critical thinking part-time at the California State University of San Marcos. Before this career, he worked in the field of nuclear medicine – primarily PET/CT – for over 20 years, helping cancer patients, and retired as a radiology supervisor. He also served as a former U.S. Army Airborne Ranger protecting our valuable country and is a disabled veteran. Originally born in Wiesbaden, Germany, where his mom lives, he has lived in many of the 50 states as a military brat. He moved to Temecula in 2019 and loves this community. He is actively engaged in Temecula and is also a board member for the non-profit organization, Neighborhood Drop In, where he works with city officials to advocate for more actions, sports facilities, and better skateparks for this city. He loves spending time with his wife and kids and also coaches youth soccer. His hobbies include skating, surfing, playing adult league soccer, watching Fußball-Bundesliga - Bayern Munchen, playing speed chess, and Frisbee golf. Overall, he loves being a professor, watching students flourish, and feels blessed to be able to contribute back to the Temecula community.

Here's Jennifer Wiersma:

As a Community Development and Event Specialist, Jen’s dedicated to creating memorable moments for students and their families. Whether writing weekly newsletters, working with ASB, planning field trips, organizing graduation ceremonies, or planning a prom, Jen enjoys collaborating with teachers and administrators within the academic community. Past career specializations include: sales and marketing, organizational management, customer service, and college admissions.

Married for over twenty-five years and a mom to three young adults who have attended TVUSD schools, Jen and her family have lived in the Temecula Valley for 17+ years. As a recovered cancer warrior determined to live life joyfully, she loves hitting the beach, line dancing, serving in her church, and taking a variety of workout classes. Jen’s always up for conversation and a rich cup of Nespresso.

Believing in the goodness of faith, family, and freedom, she’s honored to serve as an advocate for parental rights while prioritizing an excellent education for the future of all TVUSD students.

Here's Danny Gonzalez:

The most important and rewarding job I have is as a father to my 2 elementary school aged kids, both enrolled in public school in TVUSD. I believe our school district has the potential to be an example of excellence in CA, if not for a recent cultural shift to an insular culture of “we know best”.

Over the last few years, parents have been treated like obstacles instead of partners in their child’s education. I believe my experience in creating a successful business and family-oriented culture that hires union employees gives me a unique perspective on how to approach the issues that affect our employees and families. As a strong advocate for parents' rights, I believe we need to immediately improve the communication from our district to include two-way discussions, instead of the current model of disseminating edicts and proclamations without any discussion or input from parents and teachers alike.

I value the diversity in culture and thought that our great city offers. As a proud Hispanic man, I reject the philosophy that we live in a systemically racist country. Prioritizing educational needs based on race, gender, or anything other than the individual need of each student only divides us as a community.

That's right, Newsom went after the disabled war veteran, one of the women, and the Mexican guy on that board. Identity only counts if you're a leftist in Newsom's fevered mind.

The big point of contention and something the school board has not backed down on is the textbook's lionization of Harvey Milk, who was a leader of the San Francisco Democrats, but also had a gamy past as a pedophile and coercer of sexual relations in underage boys. He was hardly an appropriate guy to use for kids on the matter of gay rights in some kind of "Be Like Harvey Milk" school lesson, and in any case, the board said it was all right with teaching gay rights, but just not with Milk as the posterboy.

Newsom denies that the schoolbook he wants to foist on the district has any mention of Harvey Milk.

“But this vote lays bare the true motives of those who opposed this curriculum. This has never been about parents’ rights. It’s not even about Harvey Milk – who appears nowhere in the textbook students receive. This is about extremists’ desire to control information and censor the materials used to teach our children. ..."

Which seems to be a blatant lie if the news reports contradicting that are correct.

The textbook company seems to have scrubbed any reference as to the contents of its books, so it's hard to say who's right but I lean to those who have decribed specifics on the reference over Newsom, who lies constantly.

The Patch reports that the hagiographic bio is there:

At the heart of the trio's initial argument against adoption is a short bio on slain California gay rights leader Harvey Milk in TCI supplemental material for grades 4-5.

Why would Newsom lie like that?

Seems he's a little scared of being called out as a Democrat pol who's against parental rights, and is therefore going the old gaslight route. Maybe that's because he knows what happened in Virginia when local Democrats belittled the concept of parental rights in education. Newsom circles around this several times in his various statements on the matter, here, and here.

Which points to what this is really about -- his quest for the White House. Newsom's attack on the school board with draconian fines and a predatory investigation is him rallying his political base. His gaslighting about it is his bid to fool the broader voting public.

And it very likely won't work. What we have here is a political strongarming of a small school district from a guy whose only longing is for more power, the power to duplicate his "California Model" onto the rest of the country and stomp out any dissent. That should be a warning to voters that this guy doesn't respect local power or grassroots sentiment -- he prefers the top-down Stalinist model for total control over the country. Just look at his outrageous behavior against tiny Temecula.

Buried News: Bums, illegals, addicts, and criminals double their assaults in hospitals

How's this as a consequence of radical leftist policies that coddle society's troublemakers?

As of Sunday, the San Diego Union-Tribune ran a Page One above-the-fold story by Paul Sisson headlined "Hospitals in County Look for Ways to Cut Attacks on Workers," which is an important story indeed because it points to the consequences to innocent hospital workers of constantly coddling bums, illegals, drug addicts and criminals, all of whom were named as perpetrators in the piece.

For some strange reason, the story not there on the San Diego Union-Tribune's website and I looked and looked. I don't think it's a time delay, as there are other significant Page One stories up on the site -- one about the sleazy world of "Fat Leonard" who is linked to corruption in the Navy, and another on Comic-Con, for example.

But this story is somehow not up there. Maybe it's an innocent overlooking. Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe it's a legal issue. Maybe I am bad at 'search.' Maybe there was something wrong with the story and it was pulled. But it appears well reported in the paper edition, and the correspondent is a veteran health care reporter so I am skeptical it was that. What I am less skeptical about is that in light of its sensitive content to the city's ruling leftists, is that they just don't want this important story getting out there.

Wonder why.

Sisson starts with doozy figures as to what is going on. I'll transcribe:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of intentional injuries against health care workers and technicians has increased from 6.7 to 12.9 per 10,000 workers from 2011 to 2020. A survey of health care workers nationwide conducted in early 2023 found that 40 percent reported that they were directly involved in workplace violence in the previous two years.

That's right about when Joe Biden opened the U.S. border, the homeless-industrial complex ballooned into a surge of homelessness, and Soros district attorneys started running blue cities into the ground by effectively refusing to enforce laws against criminals.

Sisson reports that people are pretty mad about this and have begun to form a health care task force to find some way to make it stop. It must be horrendous for the health care workers, especially if they are working at hospitals in areas with large concentrations of vagrants, based on open air drug dealing along with large numbers of federally-fattened NGOs there to "serve" these clients otherwise. You can bet the figures for them are higher.

In addition, the Border Patrol has been bringing in its caught criminals and illegal border crossers in for treatment and some of them have been reportedly violent and fought doctors, too, the report said.

Places around the Hillcrest area were named by the writer as sites of attacks. Hillcrest, recall, shut down one of the nation's oldest Starbucks stores because they couldn't keep the bums away. Hillcrest and adjacent North Park are where the vagrants are so aggressive and entitled they've been caught eating food off diners' plates in sidewalk cafes, prompting local businesses to install plastic sheetings.

But the task force solutions don't look as though they'll be up to solving the problem.

Start with this picture described by Sisson:

The meeting's minutes detail cases where patients have choked, punched and pulled their caregivers to the ground by their coast, even doing hand-to-hand combat with their officers in the middle of busy emergency rooms.

One emergency room specialist at the meeting said that her facility was handling between 34 and 64 cases of "code green," where a cop has to be called into the hospital -- per month, or one to two police call incidents a day, and have since installed a "Taser protocol" in its emergency departments. They've since had to install metal detectors.

Some, after all, have been caught coming in armed with guns and knives, another testified.

What is this task force talking about?

Increasing communication, said one hospital administrator at one of the hellish hospitals.

Better communication, he said, is especially necessary in common situations such as bringing patients picked up on "5250" holds when incidents in the community cause officers to suspect someone may be a danger to themselves or others or gravely disabled and unable to take care of themselves.

He said he hoped to have a number to call when violent types threaten hospital staff.

San Diego's reasonably able anti-Soros district attorney, Summer Stephan, says that another problem is that while she's happy to prosecute, the hospitals often don't report these attacks, often due to (leftist) medical personnel (the dancing COVID nurse types) being anti-police.

Her solution sounds pretty wretched, though: "In my mind, it's important that these incidents are investigated and prosecuted if appropriate because, you know, then you send a clear message that the hospital workforce is something we value and are going to take care of," Stephan said. "But within the justice system, there are different, very humane ways to deal with people with, for example, mental health (issues), through behavioral health court, collaborative courts, mental health diversion."

What kind of nonsense is that? They already have that coddling garbage going on with stone cold criminals and they have the situation they have.

The first emergency room person cited said that having the cops come around on rounds and recommend security measures was their other solution.

I've got a better solution for them: Prison hospitals, where people who commit crimes can get their treatment with appropriate bite masks, handcuffs and leg cuffs. Hospitals should not be treating drug addicts or bums or cartel members rolling over the border illegally and exposing their workers or their patients to this thuggery and violence. The hospitals are there for people to get treated, not for bums to gather around and camp out and city funds to flow to pay for it. If they become as dangerous as the streets of San Francisco, people won't come to get treated, and medical workers will go remote or quit and move to a red state.

These namby-pamby solutions are not going to cut it until they admit there's a problem with bum proliferation, drug proliferation and illegals proliferation and take on those policies at their root causes.

In the meantime, hospitals are becoming battlefields and someone at the Union-Tribune seems to not want this news to get out. The numbers Sisson reported look very big indeed and mandate priority attention. And patients should be warned before they come about the bum risk that isn't being resolved. Let's not count on any solutions soon, based on the tired committee recommendations and what looks like the actual suppression of the news. Just that it seems like a big story out there that's ought to be out.

CA IS A DEMOCRAT PARTY DICTATORSHIP FOR THE BILLIONAIRE CLASS WHO DEMAND OPEN BORDERS TO KEEP WAGES DEPRESSED

California scheming...

If you liked the coronavirus lockdowns, you'll love the coming climate lockdowns.

Leftists sure liked the former, noting that animals reclaimed some urban areas and the skies were clearer and bluer.  Government pandemic policies forced millions of Americans to work from home, and this could become the permanent norm if special carbon taxes are put in place.

Such taxes will almost certainly be imposed on companies and individuals alike in the near future, though certain companies — and individuals — favored by our elite rulers may be exempted from them.

Drive to work in a car?  You are subject to special taxes.  Travel by plane?  Ditto.  Moreover, your children will be impacted by climate lockdowns, too.  For example, schools may frequently impose online-only school days.  In the U.S., California-style rolling blackouts will become the norm across the fruited plain due to failed green energy policies.

With the abolition of "fossil fuels" and nuclear power, consumers will be prevented from purchasing new gasoline-powered cars, lawnmowers, leaf-blowers, and chainsaws.  Nor will many soon be able to obtain or afford gas stoves, water heaters, and air-conditioners.  California will ban the sale of gasoline cars in less than 13 years, because, you know, the internal combustion engine is E-V-I-L.  Despite the fact that it has arguably led to more freedom and prosperity than any other invention in the history of the world.

Thanks to technological innovations, deaths from natural disasters have fallen by two thirds over the past five decades, and fewer people are dying from extreme heat and cold than ever before, yet elites insist that climate change is the "biggest threat modern humans have ever faced."  Arbitrarily — and quickly — abandoning the fuels, methods, ideologies, and economic systems that brought us such prosperity and safety is insane.

But climate lockdowns are very likely coming, whether you and I like it or not.

Predictably, California will likely lead the way in the U.S.  The formerly Golden State has already banned the manufacture and sale of gas furnaces and water heaters by 2030...and gasoline-powered automobiles by 2035.  You can bet climate lockdowns are next.

Welcome to the Hotel California.  You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave (your domicile).

Too late will come the realization: we are all just prisoners here, of our own device.

'You Will Not Bully Us': California School Board Shuts Down State Superintendent

July 21, 2023

California's superintendent was escorted out of a local school board meeting on Thursday in a defeat for state Democratic leaders seeking to quash dissent from their LGBT education agenda.

The superintendent, Tony Thurmond, testified against the Chino Valley school board’s resolution to notify parents if their children begin a gender transition at school but ran over the one-minute speaking limit, causing the board chair Sonja Shaw to shut off his microphone. When Thurmond refused to leave the podium, police ushered him from the building. The board went on to approve the resolution 4-1, marking the first such rejection of guidance from the California Department of Education.

"This is not your meeting," Shaw told Thurmond. "You may have a seat, because if I did that to you in Sacramento you would not accept it. You’re not going to blackmail us. … You will not bully us here in Chino."

Chino is the latest Southern California school board to buck the state's sweeping LGBT mandates and guidelines. California governor Gavin Newsom (D.) and Democratic state lawmakers have responded to the resistance with escalating threats, condemnation, and aggressive new legislation.

"I see a shift happening in the state, and it’s partly because of years of having to deal with an overreaching state government on public education issues—from the COVID-19 shutdowns to vaccine mandates, and mask mandates," said Jonathan Zachreson, the founder of Reopen California Schools, a parent group founded to oppose school closures during COVID-19. "Now we have to deal with a lot of the culture wars Sacramento has brought into school districts. [Parents'] only recourse is to deal with it at the local level."

Just this week, the Temecula Valley school board voted a second time to reject as inappropriate a state-endorsed social studies curriculum for elementary schools. Newsom responded by announcing his administration would force the board to buy LGBT-themed textbooks anyway and would fine the district $1.5 million for its defiance. The Temecula school board president on Thursday criticized Newsom's "unilateral action" and said the board planned to vote Friday on "the right solution for our community" that "meets all state and federal mandates."

Earlier this month, Newsom denounced a protest by Glendale parents against their district’s Pride celebration plans. The governor accused the parents of an "organized campaign of hate" and violence.

At Thursday's Chino school board meeting, Thurmond spoke in defense of the state's guidance that schools should keep students' gender changes secret from parents.

"I ask you to consider this: that the policy you consider tonight may not only fall outside of privacy laws and safety for our students but may put our students at risk," Thurmond said before his mic was cut.

But Shaw said she was done listening to dictates from the state.

"I’m a soccer mom … a fitness trainer. I had no desire to ever be in this seat," she said following Thurmond’s exit from the meeting. "We trust the state. We trust the government. Well, we did until our eyes were opened and we were no longer able to because we noticed that we were sending our kids into danger."

Shaw added that Thurmond had not reached out to her in the four months since she introduced the policy he showed up to oppose. A California Education Department spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment about Shaw's claim.

Thurmond later said on Twitter that he had been "thrown out of a board meeting by extremists." He also expressed support for pending legislation to fine school districts that fail to provide enough LGBT materials for students.

Earlier Thursday, California attorney general Rob Bonta sent the Chino school board a warning letter expressing "serious concern" with its proposed policy.

"As the California Department of Education has instructed, 'Disclosing that a student is transgender without the student’s permission may violate California’s antidiscrimination law by increasing the student’s vulnerability to harassment and may violate the student’s right to privacy,'" Bonta wrote.

Federal courts in California are considering some of the same questions at issue in Chino. Two California middle school teachers in April filed suit against their district's policy of hiding students gender transitions from parents, saying it violated their religious and speech rights. And two California mothers have sued their respective districts for violating their parental rights, saying that teachers secretly manipulated their daughters to believe they were boys.

Meanwhile, in the state legislature, Assemblywoman Mia Bonta, the attorney general's wife, last month proposed a bill to authorize school boards to boot members who object to the state’s "inclusive" education policies. Lawmakers were also considering a Democrat-backed bill to mandate LGBT training for middle and high school teachers. Transgender activist groups including the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the Trevor Project have been tapped to help develop the course materials.
