JOE BIDEN'S AMERICA: ILLEGALS FIRST!!! - Marsha Blackburn Demands Joe Biden Disclose Taxpayer Money Diverted from Veterans to Illegal Aliens

Marsha Blackburn Demands Joe Biden Disclose Taxpayer Money Diverted from Veterans to Illegal Aliens

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is demanding that President Joe Biden’s top agencies disclose how much taxpayer money has been siphoned from American veterans to illegal aliens who have recently arrived in the United States.

For years now, Biden’s top agencies have been accused of diverting Veterans Affairs (VA) services from veterans to provide healthcare services to recently arrived illegal aliens.

In a letter sent to VA Secretary Denis McDonough, Blackburn asked the agency to disclose the amount of taxpayer dollars that have been diverted from veterans to shore up resources for illegal aliens at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“How much funding has the VA allocated specifically for the medical care or veterans’ benefits (including claims processing) for illegal immigrants, including but not limited to those in ICE detention facilities or those who were deported?” Blackburn writes.

Blackburn noted reports that suggested in Fiscal Year 2022, taxpayers paid nearly $95 million in medical expenses for illegal aliens in federal custody that “should have been used to support American veterans who bravely served this nation,” Blackburn asserts:

Additionally, in Fiscal Year 2021, Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) healthcare arm budgeted more than $74 million for the VA’s contractor to assist with outside referrals and medical claims processing. [Emphasis added]

Yet at the same time, veterans and their families are rewarded for their sacrifice with months- and years-long waiting times for their claims to be processed. Currently, 1,048,765 veterans are waiting for staff to process their claims. The VA claims that the average wait time for a claim to be processed is about five months; yet the agency’s own data shows that its backlog has increased and is expected to grow this year. [Emphasis added]

The VA was created to support those who have served and protected this nation, and now senior VA officials have seemingly placed these veterans on a tier below the flood of illegal immigrants that are crossing our porous border. Since President Biden took office, more than 8.5 million illegal immigrants, including 1.7 million known “gotaways” have entered our country. Hundreds of individuals on the terror watchlist have been caught at our border, including 30 since the start of Fiscal Year 2024. This problem will continue to grow as Secretary Mayorkas continues to turn a willfully blind eye towards the crisis at our southern border. [Emphasis added]

It is unacceptable to see the VA redirect its resources away from those who defended this country in favor of those who flout its laws without remorse. As such, I ask that the VA immediately stop allocating its resources to the care and claims of illegal immigrants. [Emphasis added]

Blackburn similarly wants to know if VA officials “received a specific directive from the Biden administration to provide medical care or veterans’ benefits to illegal immigrants” as well as what federal laws and regulations allow for such a transfer of services from veterans to illegal aliens.

Last month, Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced the “No VA Resources for Illegal Aliens Act” to block the VA from using its resources to provide healthcare services to illegal aliens.

Reps. Jack Bergman (R-MI), Scott Franklin (R-FL), and Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) are co-sponsoring the bill in the House, while Blackburn (R-TN) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) are cosponsoring the bill in the Senate.

Chicago Job Fair Offers 400 Jobs for Migrants as Native Black Population Suffers Rising Unemployment

Migrants were treated to a job fair in Chicago where employers were looking to offer about 400 of them jobs. Meanwhile, unemployment for city residents continues to trend upward.

The job fair was held on November 2 at the Chicago area Misericordia Home on the city’s north side where nearly 500 refugees from Venezuela, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Ukraine showed up to be courted for potential employment.

With interpreters provided for them, the migrants met with representatives in fields including health care, manufacturing, hospitality, logistics, and others.

The companies also offered help securing government services, legal papers, and even training and educational opportunities.

One of the organizers of the job fair was a migrant from Afghanistan.

Siam Pasarly, the co-founder of Kaar Poh Staffing Agency, told Chicago’s WGN-TV that he hopes to help immigrants avoid the struggles he went through when he first came to Chicago.

“It is very difficult, it is very tough. Until you experience it, you just don’t know,” he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, even as other sectors in the city have recovered, black unemployment in the Windy City is still bad.

According to Crains Chicago Business, the black unemployment rate is 10.9 percent in Illinois, more than three times higher than white unemployment at 3.4 percent.

In Chicago, it is worse as the “jobless rate rose from 43.7% to 57.4% between 2019 and 2021 for Black people ages 20 to 24 in Chicago. The unemployment rate increase for Black women aged 20-24 was staggering, rising from 32% in 2019 to 60% in 2021,” the business paper noted in June.

By August, national unemployment was at 3.7 percent, but for black Americans in Chicago it was 14.3 percent, WTTW-TV reported.

This is one of the many problems that is riling the city’s black population against the rapidly growing number of migrants in the Windy City.

The influx of illegal aliens has many activists for Chicago’s black community worried and angry. In September, left-wing Chicago Catholic priest Father Michael Pfleger said that fast-tracking work permits for illegal immigrants would put jobs for his black flock at risk.

“What are we putting in place to make sure that there are no institutions in this city, this state, and country that will fire Black people because they have to pay them $15 or $16 an hour and then hire a migrant and pay them $5 an hour? What are we putting in place?” he asked.

In another case, Chicago activist Zoey Lee, who appeared at a Chicago City Council meeting, voiced a growing sentiment among black Chicagoans, accusing city leaders of trying to start a “race war” between black Americans and Hispanics.

“To come here and continue to see more Hispanics and Latinos get jobs than blacks here is a disrespect,” she added. “It’s a punch in the face.”

WATCH: Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich Calls out KJP over Border Lies

C-SPAN

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has made a habit of lying about the southern U.S. border — and a reporter in the briefing room finally called her out on it.

Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich took Jean-Pierre to task for lying about Republicans voting to cut funding for the Border Patrol — a lie that earned “three Pinocchios” from the Washington Post, and that is transparently false to anyone who understands that border security is the issue lately for Republican politicians in the Trump era.

Heinrich also confronted Jean-Pierre for lying about Texas law enforcement agents supposedly obstructing Border Patrol agents and preventing them from rescuing three migrants from drowning. (In reality, the migrants had already drowned an hour before.)

C-SPAN

As Breitbart News reported Tuesday:

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre delivered an unusually dense slew of lies on Tuesday during an audio-only press briefing, lying about everything from the U.S. (Texas) border to the number of police officers killed on January 6, 2021 (zero).

Jean-Pierre claimed, falsely, that the Texas Military Department interfered with U.S. Border Patrol agents as they attempted to rescue a migrant family from drowning. The story had already been disavowed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the governor of Texas.

White House press secretaries are known to stretch the truth, but Jean-Pierre’s latest performance was unusually disingenuous.

Jean-Pierre tried to claim that she had not lied about either the Republican voting record or about the migrants who drowned. After all, she said, there were still likely migrants — albeit other ones — in the river when the Border Patrol agents had arrrived.

The White House is trying to cast itself as defenders of the Border Patrol after lying about Border Patrol agents “whipping” Haitian migrants, insinuating that they were violent racist. The White House has never apologized for smearing the agents.

Speaker Mike Johnson Doubles Down: No Deal on Border

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) once again rejected a deal to fund Biden’s continued border operations coupled with tens of billions in foreign aid on Wednesday.

Johnson had shot down a deal on Saturday, tweeting “absolutely not” after details emerged of a draft deal crafted by Senate negotiators.

“We’re not playing politics at this,” Johnson said at a Wednesday press conference. “We’re demanding real, transformative policy change, because that’s what the American people need and deserve, and that they’re demanding as well.”

Johnson’s comments came hours before a meeting at the White House with President Joe Biden and other congressional leaders to discuss the supplemental funding deal. Senate negotiators have been working for months to craft a border compromise that could pass muster and allow the foreign aid to continue flowing as well.

The Speaker has advocated H.R. 2, a comprehensive border security package that would reinstate many of President Donald Trump’s policies that Biden ended, leading to the unprecedented migrant crisis.

In December, law enforcement encountered more than 300,000 migrants, a new record.

Johnson is the lone skeptic in congressional leadership of the White House’s strategy for pairing the two issues. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have worked with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the Biden White House to find the right pressure point to force Johnson to action.

Before the White House meeting, Johnson appeared unmoved, insisting H.R. 2 must be the starting point for negotiations.

“House Republicans are standing on that line,” he said. “I will tell the president that today. I’ve been saying that consistently since the moment I was handed this gavel, and that’s never changed.”

For decades, terms such as “comprehensive immigration reform” and “comprehensive border security” have been thrown around by advocates of open border bills that ultimately failed. Johnson pushed back on calls to once again push similar legislation, insisting that the provisions of the House bill are crafted to work together to fix the problem, and that removal of one or more of the major provisions would render the bill ineffective at stopping the flow of migrants.

“I don’t care what you call it,” Johnson told reporters. “I’m telling you that these elements are important in order to make the change that is necessary. No one should be playing politics at this. There’s too much at stake.”

Approval of Biden’s handling of the border is underwater, with independents and Democrats rejecting his failure to address the issue. Democrat officials across the nation have pleaded with Biden to take action to address the unprecedented numbers of unhoused migrants flooding their cities.

Skeptics of Biden’s border deal say his cynical election year priority is to “hide and house” migrants, providing nothing more than a temporary band-aid on the problem by removing migrants from the streets and perhaps temporarily reducing the crime that accompanies their arrival.

WATCH — Chicago Alderman: “I’m a Democrat,” but Biden “Let the Border Remain Open” and Migrant Surge Is Causing Crime:

Johnson laid out why it is critical for Republicans to use their leverage to provide a real solution that could last beyond an election year.

“Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 49,” he said:

Trafficking is a scourge. The cartels on the border down there are making billions of dollars trafficking humans into the U.S. Sixty to 70 percent of the people that cross at Eagle Pass, which is the main funnel right now, are single adult males between the ages of 18 and 40.

These are not huddled masses of families seeking refuge and asylum. These are people who are coming here probably with ill design.

Johnson also echoed sentiments of the American people in demanding the Biden administration lay out a path to victory before funding Ukraine’s war, which has been at a stalemate for a year, demanding “accountability for the funds.”

“We need to know that Ukraine would not be another Afghanistan, and you see a lot of the American people scratching their heads having real questions about why [American aid] would continue without those appropriate answers. So I’m gonna push for those.” Johnson continued. “But before we even talk about Ukraine, I’m gonna tell the President what I’m telling all of you and we’ve told the American people: border, border, border. We have to take care of our own house. We have to secure our own border before we talk about doing anything else.”

DHS Chief Alejandro Mayorkas Refuses to Appear Before Congress Alongside Angel Moms

EAGLE PASS, TEXAS - JANUARY 08: U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas holds a press conference at a U.S. Border Patrol station on January 08, 2024 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is once again refusing to appear before the House Homeland Security Committee, this time alongside Angel Moms, who have lost their children to illegal alien crime as well as fentanyl poisoning.

On Wednesday, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) revealed that Mayorkas had turned down the chance to appear before the committee at its January 18 hearing.

“The committee has given Secretary Mayorkas chance after chance to appear and explain his actions, decisions, and statements to us and to the American people,” Green said:

Over the past several months, he has tacitly rejected those offers, resorting instead to political games and delay. We would have liked to include his oral testimony in the official record of these historic proceedings. However, this Committee — part of a co-equal branch of government — will not accept indefinite delays. [Emphasis added]

Our request for written testimony from Secretary Mayorkas is his last chance to show some semblance of respect for the people’s representatives and our constitutional oversight duties. The American people are begging for Congress to act, and we will heed that call. Congressional oversight will continue, with or without Secretary Mayorkas’s cooperation. [Emphasis added]

The hearing, titled “Voices for the Victims: The Heartbreaking Reality of the Mayorkas Border Crisis,” will include testimony from Angel Mom Tammy Nobles, whose 20-year-old daughter Kayla Hamilton was murdered and then raped in July 2022, allegedly by an illegal alien MS-13 Gang member who was released into the United States as an unaccompanied alien child (UAC).

“The government could have placed a phone call to authorities in El Salvador and found out that he was a gang member, but they didn’t. If we had stricter border policies, my daughter would still be alive today,” Nobles told the House Judiciary Committee in 2023.

The latest data suggests that President Joe Biden’s DHS has welcomed some five million border crossers and illegal aliens to American communities — a foreign population that exceeds one year of U.S. births — under its expansive Catch and Release operation at the southern border.

Angel Mom Josephine Dunn, whose 26-year-old daughter Ashley Marie Dunn died after being poisoned by fentanyl, will also speak at the hearing. In May 2021, Ashley bought what she believed was oxycodone, but it was a fentanyl tablet.

Ashley died the day after her son Carter’s fifth birthday after having been put on life support.

Fentanyl is manufactured in Mexico and then trafficked by the Mexican drug cartels across the southern border before ending up in American communities and killing tens of thousands of Americans every month.

In 2022, more than 100,000 Americans died of drug overdoses or poisonings — nearly 70 percent of which were due to fentanyl. This figure indicates that fentanyl is killing more Americans annually than car crashes and breast cancer.
