even that miserable amount (later Congress rescinded Bush’s presidential
directive).

On Monday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and
Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina held a joint press conference in Playas
de Catazaja, Mexico, to officially announce an agreement to make it easier for
those making the illegal journey to the United States from Central America, to
cross into Mexico.
The Southern Border
Program to Improve Passage, will provide for more border checkpoints along
Mexico's border with Guatemala, and offer more protection and even emergency
medical care to those making their way north. The illegal aliens will receive a
so-called Regional Visitor's Card, according to El Universal.
Officially, the program will grant the cards to only illegal
aliens from Guatemala and Belize, allowing them to remain in Mexico's southern
states for 72 hours (more than enough time to reach the U.S./Mexican border by
train). While, those two countries share a border with Mexico, the program will
undoubtedly benefit anyone who makes it to the border, which would explain why
our Border Patrol stations are currently overflowing with illegal aliens from
El Salvador and Honduras as well.
The program will also
give special protection and even financial assistance to unaccompanied minors
now pouring across our border. Of course, these efforts, chiefly by the Mexican
government, will only increase the number of illegal aliens coming to this
country by the thousands, now on a daily basis.
The official announcement only confirms what many of us have
known all along...the current chaos on the border which the Obama
administration has sympathetically (and dishonestly) characterized as a
"humanitarian crisis," only exists due to collusion between the
governments of Mexico, Guatemala and likely the United States.
You see, unlike the United States,
Mexico actually defends their southern border...
In September 2010, the
head administrator of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul
Diaz, told the Inter-Press Sevice (IPS) that his government was building a wall
in the state of Chiapas, along the Mexican/Guatemalan border. The official
reason given was to stop contraband from coming into Mexico, but as Diaz
readily admitted: "It could also prevent the free passage of illegal
immigrants."
Furthermore, Article 33 of the Mexican Constitution states:
“The President of the Republic
shall have the power to expel from national territory any foreigner, according
to the law and after a hearing. The law shall establish the administrative
procedure for this purpose, as well as the place where the foreigner should be
detained and the time for that. Foreigners may not in any way participate in
the political affairs of the country.”
Of course, in the U.S.
illegal aliens are not only free to stay without fear of deportation, but they
now protest openly, regularly invading Congressional field offices to demand
amnesty legislation, as well as actually physically blocking the entrances and
exits of the Washington D.C. headquarters of U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement headquarters in 2013.
Obviously, the American
people are under daily assault from foreign invaders, bringing with them crime
and disease, but the bigger threat is from government corruption, both foreign
and domestic...governments that manufacture crises which threaten to
"fundamentally transform" ours into a Third World nation in less than
a generation.

El Salvador Says Three Migrants Abducted in Mexico, 5 Escape

El Salvador (AP)
- Gunmen kidnapped nine migrants in a southern Mexican state where 50
disappeared last week, El Salvador's Foreign Ministry announced Monday.
Five of the
migrants escaped and reported the kidnapping, the ministry said in a statement.
Another was killed as he tried to flee and the other three remain missing.
The survivors
said seven gunmen kidnapped the Central Americans on Dec. 21 from a train near
the Ixtepec, a town in Oaxaca state, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry
said Mexican authorities are investigating and have the five witnesses in
protective custody. Mexican police found the body of the slain migrant,
identified as Salvadoran national Tomas Ferman Pineda, 41, and were arranging
to repatriate his body.
The nationality
of the other migrants was unclear.
Mexican
authorities announced last week that they were investigating the possible Dec.
16 kidnapping of 50 illegal migrants in Oaxaca, after initially saying there
was no evidence of the crime.
El Salvador's
Foreign Ministry was also first to report that kidnapping. Witnesses say those
migrants -- 30 men, 15 women and five children -- were held up by gunmen while
trying to cross the country by train.
Honduran,
Guatemalan and Salvadoran migrants have been interviewed by officials at
Mexico's federal Attorney General's Office about the assault.
But Oaxaca state
authorities said Monday that investigators have no leads despite scouring the
train route in the region.
"We have nothing, there is no evidence of a kidnapping,
and state and federal operations have not produced favorable results,"
said Oaxaca state Attorney General Manuel de Jesus Lopez Lopez.
Mexico is the transit route for thousands of illegal
migrants seeking to reach the United States, with many falling victim to gangs
and organized crime. The government's National Human Rights Commission reported
in 2009 that nearly 10,000 migrants are kidnapped a year by gangs.
In the most horrifying case to date, 72 slain migrants were
found in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas in August, a massacre blamed on
members of the Zetas drug gang, which controls transport routes in that area for
drugs and other contraband.

WHEN HOUSE Republicans last year sought to make the mere presence of illegal immigrants in the United States a felony punishable by one year in prison, the odious legislation sparked international condemnation. No country was more loudly indignant than Mexico. Then-President Vicente Fox called the legislation "shameful" and its targets "heroes" who make a crucial contribution to the U.S. economy.
Yet Mexico is hardly in a position to criticize. Since 1974, foreign immigrants in Mexico illegally have been subject to prison sentences of two years, plus a fine. Immigrants who are caught reentering Mexico after deportation face 10-year prison sentences, compared to two years here.
That is, until now. Mexican President Felipe Calderon has decided to tackle immigration reform of his own, and he is seeking the repeal of Article 123 of the General Population Law, which makes illegal immigrants the Mexican equivalent of felons.
The vast majority of the 185,000 illegal immigrants caught, detained and deported by Mexican officials each year come from Guatemala and Honduras, and many of them are in transit toward the Rio Grande. Human rights advocates have documented a lengthy list of abuses faced by these migrants — threats, extortion and even violence — stemming in part from their status as felons. In addition to amending Mexico's draconian and hypocritical law, Calderon's government is vowing to improve living conditions and medical services at the 48 detention centers where illegal immigrants are held pending deportation. Proposed upgrades include the addition of hot water and telephone service.
In a recent report, Mexico's National Commission on Human Rights accused immigration agents of numerous violations, citing one instance in which 78 migrants were crammed into four cells, each designed to hold only five people, and denied food and water for more than 24 hours.
These reforms would certainly improve the plight of detained migrants and also Mexico's relationship with its southern neighbors, as well as giving Mexico more moral standing to agitate against laws affecting its citizens in the United States. Those in this country who oppose guest-worker programs and a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants often cite Mexico's own harsher policies as the ones we should adopt, or at least complain about first.
Mexico can declaw that argument by closing the gap between its advocacy for Mexican nationals in the United States and how it treats illegal immigrants within its borders. Mexico is under pressure from the U.S. to block the flow of migrants heading north, and recent crackdowns, in part, have been to that end. Ensuring the human rights of its migrant population, however, is not only the right thing to do, it's good politics.

Pat Buchanan: U.S. Lacks 'Moral Moxie' to 'Defend Our Borders'

(CNSNews.com) - "Why has the government of the United States not got the moral moxie to do its duty and defend our borders?" asked conservative columnist Patrick J. Buchanan.
The problem rests with presidents of both parties, he told Fox News's Sean Hannity Monday night.
"We do need a secure fence, a double or triple-link fence all along the border of the United States with Mexico. We got to tell folks we know how much you want to come, but we decide who comes into our national home."
Buchanan said what's happening on the U.S.-Mexico border is the same thing that's happening in Europe, as people from failed, Third World states are flooding in.
It's no surprise that people want to come to the U.S. "But as Ronald Reagan said, a country that can't or won't control it's borders isn't really a country anymore."
"The truth is, if you do not get control of folks pouring into your country from all over the world, they will alter the character and composition of your country and change it forever without the consent of the American people."
Buchanan noted that in 1992, when he was running against George H.W. Bush, he went to the border in San Diego: "And they were coming across the border at 5,000 every weekend, pouring in, and they all talked about secure the border because illegals are pouring into the United States. And if the government had acted then, we would be dealing not with 12 million or 20 million illegals but with 3 million. Many would have been gone."
He also recalled that in 1953, President Eisenhower sent a U.S. general to Texas, to deal with an influx of illegal aliens. "And they put them on buses and ships and they sent them back into Central Mexico..."

Extrapolating these two examples across the nation paints a frightening picture: Illegal aliens are not only weakening the country financially, but are also often enticed to come here because of governmental social-welfare programs that should not even exist much less be available to illegal residents. The cost to American taxpayers is billions of dollars.
