At Least 70 Shot During Weekend in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago
At least 70 people were shot, 12 of them fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
On Sunday, Breitbart News reported at least 29 people were shot Friday into Saturday night, seven of them fatally.
By Monday morning, ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times noted that the total number of weekend shooting victims was at least 70, and the number of fatalities was at 12.
The Chicago Tribune pointed out the wounded included five who were injured in one incident Sunday morning. The shooting victims were 23-years-0ld to 50-years-old in age, and they were standing in a yard “in the 4800 block of West Race Avenue” when a gunman entered the yard and opened fire.
ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times explained a gunman shot at an off-duty police officer Sunday night as the officer sat in the passenger sit of a vehicle. The incident occurred at “11:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Ainslie Street.” The officer was not injured and the suspect was able to escape.
The Tribune reported Chicago surpassed 2,020 shooting victims this year by July 7. The Windy City surpassed 360 homicides by the same date.
HeyJackass observed that 88 people have been shot and killed in Chicago in July 2021 alone.

Nolte: By 9-to-1 Margin Detroit Citizens Want More Cops on Streets
“By an overwhelming 9-1, [Detroit citizens] would feel safer with more cops on the street, not fewer,” the far-left USA Today reported.
And now we come to my favorite part of this USA Today/Suffolk University/Detroit Free Press Poll; the racial divide, which is in no way surprising.
Read the following carefully:
The poll found a significant racial divide on the question. Black residents ranked crime at the top of their list of concerns: 24% cited public safety, and just 3% named police reform.
But white residents were a bit more concerned about police reform than public safety, 12% compared with 10%. Education was by far the biggest issue on their minds, named by 31%.
What you have here, and again this is in no way surprising, is more white residents wanting police reform than the mere 3 percent of black resident who want police reform.
Let me repeat that: only 3 percent of black residents in Detroit want police reform.
Three percent.
Three!
And which racial group do you think is 1) dealing with the most violent crime and by extension 2) dealing with police the most? Of course it’s blacks Americans, who have always been the disproportionate victims of violent crime. And that victimization rate only goes up when white liberals (the worst people in the world) begin patronizing the black community with ludicrous ideas about emptying prisons, ending bail, and defunding the police.
White liberals (the worst people in the world) never do anything to improve the lives of black Americans. But they enjoy improving the lives of black criminals.
Detroit is as deep blue as a deep blue city gets. In 2020, Biden allegedly won 233,908 votes to Trump’s 12,654. That’s not a typo. The margin in Detroit was 233,908 to 12,654, and yet, only 3 percent of black residents want police reform. But more left-wing whites sure want police reform, but that’s because whites don’t have to live with the same amount of crime. And that’s also because white Democrats have been trying to tell black people what’s best for them for 400 years.
If you’re wondering why His Fraudulency Joe Biden is running so far away from his fellow Defund-the-Police Democrats, running so far away he is lying about them even existing, this is why.
USA Today reports that violent crime is on the upswing in Detroit. Well, of course it is. Democrats have run Detroit exclusively for decades. You get what you vote for, Detroit, and what you’ve got is violence, despair, poverty, and a city that looks like it was hit with a nuke.
Y’all want to live like this, that’s your choice. Godspeed. Hopefully, the Democrats you’ve hired will at least heed your call to put more police on the streets. One group that will never heed that call is the corporate media, who will continue to pretend that every black person in America wants the police eradicated.
Listen, I’ve lived in an American inner-city, Milwaukee, in the mid-80s, when crime was even worse than it is now. The very idea urban voters want the police defunded is flat-out insane and a recipe for disaster. Nevertheless, Democrats and their allies in the media, like CNNLOL, continue to push policies that will only make life for black Americans worse. But that, of course, is part of the plan, so they can blame “systemic racism.”
ABC News Launches Weeklong Special on Crime Waves in Democrat-Run Cities
ABC News is running a weeklong special which examines the crime waves engulfing Democrat-run cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York.
Although the information is presented as national problem, the title is “One Nation Under Fire,” ABC News’ coverage began by mentioning shootings that occurred in Milwaukee during the celebration resulting from the Milwaukee Bucks wining the NBA finals.
Milwaukee is a Democrat-run city as are a host of others that are featured as exemplars requiring new, harsh gun control restrictions.
The evidence suggests otherwise:
ahawkinsABC News noted they “dug” down and discovered “violence occurs disproportionately in poorer, urban areas — from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York City.”
Moreover, in looking at the gun violence that occurred around the nation last week, they noted “Illinois…topped the list for most people wounded from firearms at 124.”
Chicago is located in Illinois, and Breitbart News reported 13 were shot Thursday of last week in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago, and nearly 30 people were shot on Wednesday.
ABC News also noted in Philadelphia, “the gun-related death toll has already surpassed 300 this year.” Philadelphia is another Democrat-run city.
ABC News also covered an accidental shooting “in a dark church parking lot in Utah” on the night of July 17/18. This and similar mentions of isolated incidents allowed them to talk of gun violence without isolating the Democrat-run cities.

Lori Lightfoot Defends Her Racism, Would ‘Absolutely’ Ban White Reporters Again

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) continues to defend her racist policy with reporters. Speaking to “Sway” host Kara Swisher in an interview published in The New York Times on Monday, Lightfoot explained her outrageous decision to only accept interviews from non-White journalists.
“I would absolutely do it again,” Lightfoot told Swisher, who is, ironically, a White journalist. “I’m unapologetic about it because it spurred a very important conversation, a conversation that needed to happen, that should have happened a long time ago.”
Pressed by Swisher to explain further, Lightfoot continued:
“I’m a Black woman mayor. I’m the mayor of the third-largest city in the country. Obviously I have a platform, and it’s important to me to advocate on things that I believe are important…The media is in a time of incredible upheaval and disruption, but our city hall press corps looks like it’s 1950 or 1970.”
The only thing that looks like it is 1950 is the racial segregation that Lightfoot is enforcing within her city hall press corps. Actually, in 1950, Lightfoot’s office would have been occupied by a White person banning the Black city hall reporters. There’s a good reason that no serious politician has advocated for this power structure in decades.
If this whole charade was truly about “sparking a conversation” about racism, Lightfoot would have addressed the lawlessness that plagued Chicago during last summer’s riots. Instead of fueling divisions by turning a blind eye to the violence, she would have supported its true victims, Black business owners like Terrence Moses.
She also would not have demonized President Donald Trump for offering to send in the National Guard to restore order. And Lightfoot might have thought better of giving him the middle finger before floating around the idea of welcoming President Joe Biden’s troops into Chicago to control its massive crime spike — a task clearly above her own pay grade.
Lightfoot’s wokeness is paid for by the dozens of young Black men gunned down by gangs across Chicago each year. As Presidents Trump, Biden, and nearly all members of their respective parties fight this toxic, old-school racism, it’s time that the mayor of America’s third-largest city follow suit.
