MSNBC regular and The Nation’s justice correspondent Elie Mystal said Friday on “The ReidOut” that former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter being sentenced to two years for the Daunte Wright’s manslaughter conviction showed that America hates black people.

Addressing host Joy Reid, Mystal said, “Joy, this country hates us. This country hates black people, and we know it. We talk about it. We joke about it. We know what we’re up against. But sometimes that hatred that this country has for us really comes out and just takes your breath away, just grabs you by the neck and takes your breath away.”

He added, “Today, Judge Regina Chu was that hatred, that icy hate around our throat. She was the spit in our face today. To have the unmitigated gall to sit up there in her courtroom and plead, cry out for sympathy for the killer in front of that boy’s mother. I don’t have words to describe how offensive that is, how hurtful that is. How unjust that is almost goes without saying. People are like. ‘Oh, she made a mistake, Potter made a mistake.’ Yeah, we have a sentencing guideline for this mistake. It’s called six to eight years. Why did she get two years? Somebody needs to answer me why she got two years. Of course, we all know why she got two years because she was a crying white woman. That’s why she got two years and not the six to eight years that her crime cried out for.”

BLM and Democrats quickly bail out alleged wannabe-assassin of Jewish mayoral candidate

Finally realizing that doing the same thing again and again but expecting a different result may not be insane as Albert Einstein may or may not have said but sure is stupid, Amazon

kicked Black Lives Matter off its charity platform AmazonSmile on Tuesday as the social justice [sic! —ECF] organization faces intense scrutiny from multiple states over the status of its financial windfall from 2020.

The move deprives BLM of a major revenue source that has provided $306 million to U.S. charities and comes less than two years after Amazon itself donated $10 million to BLM and 11 other social justice groups [sic!] amid the nationwide unrest spurred by George Floyd's killing.

Awwww, why did Amazon do a nasty thing like that?  BLM's co-founder has the answer.

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, who resigned from BLM in May, said last Wednesday that the unaccounted millions her group received in 2020 came from "white corporation guilt."

Oh.  Hmm, so Amazon doesn't believe that its "white corporation guilt"  trumps BLM's "unaccounted millions."  How white of them.  Or something.

Meanwhile,  Cullors didn't display much BLM black nonprofit guilt or anguish when 

[t]he Louisville Community Bail Fund, an affiliate of the city's Black Lives Matter chapter, posted $100,000 bail on Wednesday to spring Quintez Brown from jail following his arrest on charges of trying to assassinate Jewish Democratic mayoral hopeful Craig Greenberg. 

Oooooh!  The victim, Craig Greenberg, is white!  He's Jewish!  He is a he/him/male!  Craig Greenberg, who wants to be mayor of Louisville, Kentucky is a Jewish white male.  Oh, yeah — now it is understandable why the local BLM chapter decided to spring an alleged murderer and so easily proffered this high (to some) amount.  

The group's ability to quickly procure such a hefty sum comes thanks to its support from prominent Democratic organizations.

The bail fund, for example, has an active page on ActBlue, the political fundraising platform used universally by Democratic candidates across the country. Justice Democrats—a far-left PAC that supports Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) and Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.)—also actively fundraises for the bail group on the platform. Contributions sent to the Louisville Community Bail Fund through ActBlue are routed through the Tides Center, a liberal dark money behemoth that has received millions of dollars from Soros. Tides gave nearly $740,000 to the bail fund in 2020, tax filings show.

ActBlue, Justice Democrats, (sic! ECF) and the Tides Center did not return requests for comment.

And just who is the alleged assassin that Louisville's BLM sprung?

A prominent Louisville activist, Brown accused police of working to "maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death" in a 2021 Louisville Courier Journal column. 

And the victim,

Greenberg, meanwhile, is an unabashed supporter of police — his campaign is centered on a plan to root out violent crime by hiring more law enforcement officers.

But it was the BLM's "unaccounted millions" that upset Amazon, not the attempted murder of a Jewish white male mayoral hopeful by an alleged BLM-supporter.  And this didn't matter, either to the Democrat party,  ActBlue, Justice Democrats (sic!), the Tides Center, or George Soros, plus the other usual more than suspects  who will probably blame the victim for being a white Jewish male oppressor who triggered Brown's perfectly reasonable action.  He and his family deserve their pain.

Although sympathetic to Brown's alleged mental health problems, Greenberg himself tweeted about the shooting's effect on him and his family.  

Our criminal justice system is clearly broken. It is nearly impossible to believe that someone can attempt murder on Monday and walk out of jail on Wednesday.  If someone is struggling with a mental illness and is in custody, they should be evaluated and treated in custody. We must work together to fix this system.

Mr. Brown and his family are hurting.  My family and team are hurting.  I pray for everyone involved in this alarming incident.

The Democratic National Committee used ActBlue to rake in nearly $500 million in 2020, the same year Vice President Kamala Harris used the platform to promote a similar bail fund that freed an alleged domestic abuser weeks before he was arrested again for murder.

ActBlue, Justice Democrats, and the Tides Center did not return requests for comment.

On Monday, police charged Brown with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment after he allegedly entered Greenberg's campaign office, pulled a gun, and began shooting. A prominent Louisville activist, Brown accused police of working to "maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death" in a 2021 Louisville Courier Journal column. Greenberg, meanwhile, is an unabashed supporter of police—his campaign is centered on a plan to root out violent crime by hiring more law enforcement officers.

Roughly two days after Brown's arrest, the Louisville Community Bail Fund submitted $100,000 to secure the activist's release. The fund, which was cofounded by Black Lives Matter Louisville organizer Chanelle Helm, has also paid to bail out accused rapists and murderers, including one woman who allegedly beat her boyfriend to death before hiding his remains and another who police said shot a man in the back of the head as he walked away from an argument.

Helm is no stranger to calls for political violence. The activist garnered national attention in 2019 after she led a protest outside of Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell's (R., Ky.) home in Louisville. In a live video, Helm said McConnell—who was recovering from a shoulder injury at the time—"should have broken his little raggedy, wrinkled-ass neck." Helm also told a fellow protester to "just stab the motherfucker in the heart" after the man referenced a McConnell voodoo doll. She refused to apologize for her comments after the protest, telling the Courier Journal that McConnell "doesn't care about people who actually do break their necks."

A veteran Republican strategist called it "wild" that ActBlue would help raise money for "people with a history of politically violent rhetoric."

"The double standard is incredible when it comes to platform access," the strategist told the Washington Free Beacon. "Kyle Rittenhouse couldn't raise money on GoFundMe for his legal defense, but BLM can bail out someone accused of attempted assassination. Anybody who doesn't denounce that is a hypocrite."

Both Brown and Helm have deep ties to Kentucky Democratic Party officials. Brown spoke at the 2019 campaign launch rally for Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Charles Booker, who is running to unseat Republican incumbent Rand Paul in 2022. Helm, meanwhile, was on the Kentucky State Democratic Central Executive Committee's payroll around the time of her infamous McConnell protest—campaign finance records show the group paid her nearly $5,700 from September to November 2019.

In a Thursday morning statement, Greenberg criticized the Louisville Community Bail Fund's decision to secure Brown's release, saying the move "traumatized" him and his family.

"It is nearly impossible to believe that someone can attempt murder on Monday and walk out of jail on Wednesday," the Democrat said. "If someone is struggling with a mental illness and is in custody, they should be evaluated and treated in custody. Sadly, like others who suffer from a broken system, my team and family have been traumatized again by this."

E-commerce giant Amazon has removed the Black Lives Matter organization from its AmazonSmile charity platform as the organization faces increasing financial scrutiny. Amazon previously was a major cheerleader for Black Lives Matter, including making large donations to the group and a notorious incident in which founder Jeff Bezos scolded a customer for saying “All Lives Matter” in an email.

The Washington Examiner reports that Amazon has removed the Black Lives Matter organization from its AmazonSmile charity donation platform as the social justice group faces increased financial scrutiny. AmazonSmile has donated $306 million to U.S. charities throughout its existence, money that BLM will now be cut off from.

Amazon previously donated $10 million to BLM and 11 other social justice groups during nationwide unrest caused by the killing of George Floyd. Multiple other silicon valley tech firms embraced the group amidst riots throughout the country, including Netflix, and Hulu. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also scolded an Amazon customer in an email for saying “All Lives Matter.”

An Amazon representative discussed the removal of BLM from the AmazonSmile platform with the Washington Examiner, stating:

Charitable organizations must meet the requirements outlined in our participation agreement to be eligible for AmazonSmile.

Among other eligibility requirements, organizations are required to be in good standing in their state of incorporation and in the states and territories where they are authorized to do business.

Organizations that don’t meet the requirements listed in the agreement may have its eligibility suspended or revoked. Charities can request to be reinstated once they are back in good standing.

The co-founder of the BLM organization, Patrisse Cullors, who resigned from the group in May said that the unaccounted millions her group received came from “white corporation guilt.” Cullors stated: “People have to know we didn’t go out and solicit the money. This is money that came from white guilt, white corporation guilt, and they just poured money in.”

BLM shut down its online fundraising on February 2nd after California and Washington issued legal threats to the group of failing to report what it did with the millions it received during 2020. The organization published a report in February 2021 which alleged that it ended 2020 with $60 million on hand.

Filings recently reported by the Washington Examiner found that BLM has retained the services of the law firm owned by Democratic lawyer Marc Elias who previously funded the anti-Trump Steele dossier while serving as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign general counsel.

Gary Chambers Jr., an East Baton Rouge activist running for the Senate, appeared on the Elevated Places - "Ask Dr. Ava" podcast of Dr. Ava Muhammad, who is listed as the national spokesperson for Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader who has a long history of antisemitic comments, including calling Jews "wicked" and comparing them to "termites."

The podcast’s co-host Terence Muhammad, who has tweeted several times about his support for Farrakhan and has a profile picture with Farrakhan on his Twitter and Instagram, introduced Chambers by saying Chambers "loves the honorable Louis Farrakhan" and "loves his work."

"So first of all let me say to the Honorable Louis Farrakhan that I have been listening to him since I was a young man with my father," Chambers said. "He used to come on TV here in Baton Rouge and my dad kicked me to the game at about 13 or 14 and I’ve been listening ever since because when a Black man stands up for Black folks it makes a Black man want to stand up." 

"I have been a supporter [of Farrakhan] from the distance forever, so let me say that first," Chambers continued.

Don't expect there to be any consequences. 

Keith X. Ellison spent a whole lot of time in the Nation of Islam, spewed hate, and got ushered up the political elevator. Obama posed with Farrakhan. So did a whole bunch of Congressional Black Caucus members. I doubt that the Democrats will disavow Chambers and the media will do its best to ignore the story.

That doesn't mean that Chambers and those who continue to celebrate him shouldn't be held accountable.

Anti-Police Activist Charged With Unspeakable Act of Political Violence

A radical anti-police activist was charged Monday with the attempted murder of Louisville, Ky., mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg. The activist, Quintez Brown, was apprehended shortly after he allegedly entered Greenberg's campaign headquarters and fired multiple shots with a handgun.

Brown, 21, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment. No one was injured during the attack, but a bullet reportedly grazed the back of Greenberg's sweater. The mayoral candidate, a Democrat, said the suspect walked into his office where he and four other staffers were meeting Monday morning. "When we greeted him, he pulled out a gun, aimed directly at me, and began shooting," Greenberg told reporters. "The individual closest to the door managed to bravely get the door closed, which we barricaded and the shooter fled the scene."

Police said Greenberg, who is Jewish, appeared to have been targeted in the shooting. Authorities did not identify a motive for the crime and said they believe Brown acted alone. The alleged attack occurred two months after Brown announced his candidacy for Louisville Metro Council. Among his stated policy goals were "freedom, reparations," and "full employment."

Brown had been a student at the University of Louisville, where he was an MLK scholar studying philosophy and Pan-Africanism, a controversial ideological movement whose advocates include Malcolm X, Robert Mugabe, and Muammar Gaddafi. His social media bios called for "the total liberation and unification of Africa under scientific socialism."

Brown also served as opinion editor for the student newspaper, the Cardinal, and was a former intern and biweekly columnist for the Louisville Courier Journal, where he wrote extensively about how law enforcement and other "institutions in society work together to maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death."

An active participant in the so-called racial justice protests of 2020, Brown's journalistic output and social media posts reflect a radicalized individual who was skeptical of representative democracy and believed Marxist revolution was the most viable path to achieving racial justice.

Days before the alleged attack, Brown urged his followers to join the Lion of Judah Armed Forces, a black supremacist militia whose ideas are aligned with those of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement. Adherents of the latter group were charged in the 2019 murders of four Jewish people at a kosher supermarket in Jersey City, N.J., which authorities described as a "targeted attack."

Years earlier, Brown was embraced by mainstream journalists and Democratic Party leaders. He appeared alongside Joy Reid during an MSNBC panel in 2018, in which he called for "common-sense gun reform." He posed for photos with Rev. Al Sharpton, a notorious anti-Semite. The Obama Foundation recognized him as a "rising face" as part of the former president's "My Brother's Keeper" program, and he was one of 22 students selected to attend the inaugural MBK Rising! Summit in 2019.

BLM-Linked Bail Fund To Free Louisville Activist Who Shot at Jewish Democrat

A local bail fund linked to Black Lives Matter Louisville plans to post bond for Quintez Brown, the anti-police activist charged with the attempted murder of mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.

On Monday, police charged Brown with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment after he allegedly entered Greenberg's campaign office, pulled a gun, and began shooting. A district judge set Brown's bond at $100,000, which the Louisville Community Bail Fund plans to post. The group was cofounded by Black Lives Matter Louisville organizer Chanelle Helm and has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars freeing heinous criminals arrested for murder, rape, domestic violence, and other violent crimes.

According to police, Greenberg, who is Jewish, appears to have been targeted in the shooting. The mayoral hopeful's positions on public safety and policing are at odds with Brown. Greenberg, a Democrat, has centered his campaign around a plan to root out violent crime—which he called the "city's biggest challenge"—by hiring more police officers. Brown, meanwhile, wrote columns for the Louisville Courier Journal that accused law enforcement and other "institutions in society" of "work[ing] together to maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death."

A Louisville Community Bail Fund member submitted the $100,000 cashier's check to release Brown late Wednesday afternoon, WHAS political reporter Rachel Droze revealed. The group's representative sported a "Free Angela" T-shirt in a reference to Angela Davis, the former Communist Party USA leader and avowed Marxist whose guns were used in a California terrorist attack carried out by the Black Panthers that killed four people.

In addition to posting Brown's bond, the Louisville Community Bail Fund group said it will provide "mental health resources" for the activist upon his release from prison. Brown's allies have called it "disgusting" and "irresponsible" to associate the activist's "connection to Black Lives Matter" with the shooting.

Mainstream journalists and Democratic Party leaders have long embraced Brown. He appeared on a 2018 MSNBC panel with Joy Reid to call for "common-sense gun reform" and participated in the Obama Foundation's "My Brother's Keeper" program, which recognized him as a "rising face." 

Nonprofit groups like the Louisville Community Bail Fund have raised millions of dollars in donations since George Floyd's death in 2020. The significant financial windfall comes thanks in part to top Democratic officials. Vice President Kamala Harris, for example, urged her followers in June 2020 to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund—in September, the group freed an alleged domestic abuser who was arrested for murder just weeks later.

The Louisville Community Bail Fund has also faced criticism over whom it agrees to bail out. In November 2020, the group posted $30,000 to release Andre Clayton, charged in a double shooting, who went on to break his bail terms by posting images on social media with drugs, cash, and guns. The Louisville Community Bail Fund admitted that it did not talk to Clayton or his attorney prior to posting his bond nor did it check his criminal history.

Kentucky Republicans last month introduced a bill that would make charitable bail illegal in the state.

Organizations that don’t meet the requirements listed in the agreement may have its eligibility suspended or revoked. Charities can request to be reinstated once they are back in good standing.

The co-founder of the BLM organization, Patrisse Cullors, who resigned from the group in May said that the unaccounted millions her group received came from “white corporation guilt.” Cullors stated: “People have to know we didn’t go out and solicit the money. This is money that came from white guilt, white corporation guilt, and they just poured money in.”

BLM shut down its online fundraising on February 2nd after California and Washington issued legal threats to the group of failing to report what it did with the millions it received during 2020. The organization published a report in February 2021 which alleged that it ended 2020 with $60 million on hand.

Filings recently reported by the Washington Examiner found that BLM has retained the services of the law firm owned by Democratic lawyer Marc Elias who previously funded the anti-Trump Steele dossier while serving as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign general counsel.

Gary Chambers Jr., an East Baton Rouge activist running for the Senate, appeared on the Elevated Places - "Ask Dr. Ava" podcast of Dr. Ava Muhammad, who is listed as the national spokesperson for Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader who has a long history of antisemitic comments, including calling Jews "wicked" and comparing them to "termites."

The podcast’s co-host Terence Muhammad, who has tweeted several times about his support for Farrakhan and has a profile picture with Farrakhan on his Twitter and Instagram, introduced Chambers by saying Chambers "loves the honorable Louis Farrakhan" and "loves his work."

"So first of all let me say to the Honorable Louis Farrakhan that I have been listening to him since I was a young man with my father," Chambers said. "He used to come on TV here in Baton Rouge and my dad kicked me to the game at about 13 or 14 and I’ve been listening ever since because when a Black man stands up for Black folks it makes a Black man want to stand up." 

"I have been a supporter [of Farrakhan] from the distance forever, so let me say that first," Chambers continued.

Don't expect there to be any consequences. 

Keith X. Ellison spent a whole lot of time in the Nation of Islam, spewed hate, and got ushered up the political elevator. Obama posed with Farrakhan. So did a whole bunch of Congressional Black Caucus members. I doubt that the Democrats will disavow Chambers and the media will do its best to ignore the story.

That doesn't mean that Chambers and those who continue to celebrate him shouldn't be held accountable.

Anti-Police Activist Charged With Unspeakable Act of Political Violence

A radical anti-police activist was charged Monday with the attempted murder of Louisville, Ky., mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg. The activist, Quintez Brown, was apprehended shortly after he allegedly entered Greenberg's campaign headquarters and fired multiple shots with a handgun.

Brown, 21, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment. No one was injured during the attack, but a bullet reportedly grazed the back of Greenberg's sweater. The mayoral candidate, a Democrat, said the suspect walked into his office where he and four other staffers were meeting Monday morning. "When we greeted him, he pulled out a gun, aimed directly at me, and began shooting," Greenberg told reporters. "The individual closest to the door managed to bravely get the door closed, which we barricaded and the shooter fled the scene."

Police said Greenberg, who is Jewish, appeared to have been targeted in the shooting. Authorities did not identify a motive for the crime and said they believe Brown acted alone. The alleged attack occurred two months after Brown announced his candidacy for Louisville Metro Council. Among his stated policy goals were "freedom, reparations," and "full employment."

Brown had been a student at the University of Louisville, where he was an MLK scholar studying philosophy and Pan-Africanism, a controversial ideological movement whose advocates include Malcolm X, Robert Mugabe, and Muammar Gaddafi. His social media bios called for "the total liberation and unification of Africa under scientific socialism."

Brown also served as opinion editor for the student newspaper, the Cardinal, and was a former intern and biweekly columnist for the Louisville Courier Journal, where he wrote extensively about how law enforcement and other "institutions in society work together to maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death."

An active participant in the so-called racial justice protests of 2020, Brown's journalistic output and social media posts reflect a radicalized individual who was skeptical of representative democracy and believed Marxist revolution was the most viable path to achieving racial justice.

Days before the alleged attack, Brown urged his followers to join the Lion of Judah Armed Forces, a black supremacist militia whose ideas are aligned with those of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement. Adherents of the latter group were charged in the 2019 murders of four Jewish people at a kosher supermarket in Jersey City, N.J., which authorities described as a "targeted attack."

Years earlier, Brown was embraced by mainstream journalists and Democratic Party leaders. He appeared alongside Joy Reid during an MSNBC panel in 2018, in which he called for "common-sense gun reform." He posed for photos with Rev. Al Sharpton, a notorious anti-Semite. The Obama Foundation recognized him as a "rising face" as part of the former president's "My Brother's Keeper" program, and he was one of 22 students selected to attend the inaugural MBK Rising! Summit in 2019.

A local bail fund linked to Black Lives Matter Louisville plans to post bond for Quintez Brown, the anti-police activist charged with the attempted murder of mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.

On Monday, police charged Brown with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment after he allegedly entered Greenberg's campaign office, pulled a gun, and began shooting. A district judge set Brown's bond at $100,000, which the Louisville Community Bail Fund plans to post. The group was cofounded by Black Lives Matter Louisville organizer Chanelle Helm and has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars freeing heinous criminals arrested for murder, rape, domestic violence, and other violent crimes.

According to police, Greenberg, who is Jewish, appears to have been targeted in the shooting. The mayoral hopeful's positions on public safety and policing are at odds with Brown. Greenberg, a Democrat, has centered his campaign around a plan to root out violent crime—which he called the "city's biggest challenge"—by hiring more police officers. Brown, meanwhile, wrote columns for the Louisville Courier Journal that accused law enforcement and other "institutions in society" of "work[ing] together to maintain the status quo of the spectacular Black death."

A Louisville Community Bail Fund member submitted the $100,000 cashier's check to release Brown late Wednesday afternoon, WHAS political reporter Rachel Droze revealed. The group's representative sported a "Free Angela" T-shirt in a reference to Angela Davis, the former Communist Party USA leader and avowed Marxist whose guns were used in a California terrorist attack carried out by the Black Panthers that killed four people.

In addition to posting Brown's bond, the Louisville Community Bail Fund group said it will provide "mental health resources" for the activist upon his release from prison. Brown's allies have called it "disgusting" and "irresponsible" to associate the activist's "connection to Black Lives Matter" with the shooting.

Mainstream journalists and Democratic Party leaders have long embraced Brown. He appeared on a 2018 MSNBC panel with Joy Reid to call for "common-sense gun reform" and participated in the Obama Foundation's "My Brother's Keeper" program, which recognized him as a "rising face." 

Nonprofit groups like the Louisville Community Bail Fund have raised millions of dollars in donations since George Floyd's death in 2020. The significant financial windfall comes thanks in part to top Democratic officials. Vice President Kamala Harris, for example, urged her followers in June 2020 to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund—in September, the group freed an alleged domestic abuser who was arrested for murder just weeks later.

The Louisville Community Bail Fund has also faced criticism over whom it agrees to bail out. In November 2020, the group posted $30,000 to release Andre Clayton, charged in a double shooting, who went on to break his bail terms by posting images on social media with drugs, cash, and guns. The Louisville Community Bail Fund admitted that it did not talk to Clayton or his attorney prior to posting his bond nor did it check his criminal history.

Kentucky Republicans last month introduced a bill that would make charitable bail illegal in the state.

Four people were pronounced dead following an attempted traffic stop in Maryland, as a manhunt was underway in the state for two former police officers who were considered armed and dangerous. On Thursday night, police confirmed two of the deceased were the former officers.

Three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene in Smithsburg late Thursday afternoon, including a female driver, an adult man and one child, according to Maryland State Police.

Police have released video of two people’s alleged attack on a woman in Brooklyn last week that resulted in her being taken to the hospital unconscious.

 At one point in the video, the BLACK female suspect appeared to stomp on the woman’s head multiple times.

Walgreens Closes Five Bay Area Stores amid BLACK Shoplifting Surge

The ongoing shoplifting surge has forced Walgreens to close five more San Francisco stores as local law enforcement continues to do next to nothing to curtail the problem.

In a statement to SF Gate, Walgreens spokesman Phil Caruso confirmed “organized retail crime” has strangled San Francisco stores.

“Organized retail crime continues to be a challenge facing retailers across San Francisco, and we are not immune to that,” Caruso said. “Retail theft across our San Francisco stores has continued to increase in the past few months to five times our chain average.”

“During this time to help combat this issue, we increased our investments in security measures in stores across the city to 46 times our chain average in an effort to provide a safe environment,” he added.

Asha Safai, San Francisco Board of Supervisor for District 11 admitted to feeling “devastated” over the closure a Walgreens store that has “been a staple for seniors, families and children for decades.”

“I am completely devastated by this news – this Walgreens is less than a mile from seven schools and has been a staple for seniors, families and children for decades. This closure will significantly impact this community,” he tweeted.

 

Safai told SFGate that the shoplifting had crippled the store’s bottom-line and endangered the staff and customers to an unhealthy degree.

“This is a sad day for San Francisco,” Safai said. “We can’t continue to let these anchor institutions close that so many people rely on.”

Shoplifting has skyrocketed in San Francisco recently, likely a result of Proposition 47, which dictates stealing would not be a felony in California if the item stolen did not exceed $950.

The damage has been felt across a range of business outlets.

 

In May of this year, The San Francisco News described the situation as being “out of control,” noting that 17 Walgreens have had to close in the past five years due to rampant shoplifting in the city.

17 Walgreen locations in San Francisco have closed their doors within the last five years according to a report from the SF Chronicle. Ten of these closures transpired from 2019 to this year with the last Walgreens store to close its door as of this writing, back on March 17. The cause of the closures is due to rampant shoplifting and looting that has transpired at Walgreen locations in the city believed to be perpetuated by an organized crime ring.

On Thursday, May 13 a hearing was held by the Board of Supervisors with retailers, the SFPD, the district attorney’s office, and probation departments. Brendan Dugan, director of organized retail crime and corporate investigations, believes that San Francisco is at the center of organized retail crime. He brought up a state bust in the Bay Area from last year in which $8 million in stolen merchandise was confiscated from five suspects. The merchandise came from CVS, Target and Walgreens stores from all across San Francisco.

The lack of enforcement made shoplifters so nonchalant and casual they would often steal in broad daylight while awestruck customers documented the crime on their iPhones, allowing for some viral internet moments.

San Francisco Safeway Cuts Hours Due to Rampant Shoplifting

A prominent Safeway supermarket in the Castro district of San Francisco is limiting its hours due to rampant shoplifting, the latest example of a retail store closing or limiting its operations in the left-liberal city due to out-of-control petty crime.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday:

Shoppers at the Safeway in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood will see a noticeable change to the store: It now closes at 9 p.m. due to what one supervisor described as “out of control” shoplifting.

Once open 24 hours a day, the Safeway store on Market and Church streets now has the earliest closing hours of all the Pleasanton-based supermarket chain’s San Francisco storefronts, most of which stay open until midnight.

[San Francisco Supervisor Rafael] Mandelman said theft at the Safeway at 2020 Market Street has been “out of control” and recently met with Safeway representatives “to better understand the issues at this store.” He said he also planned to meet with the San Francisco Police Department and the office of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin “to see what is currently being done to deter theft at Safeway, and to figure out a plan to do better.”

Earlier this year, Walgreens closed 17 stores in the city due to shoplifting, which skyrocketed after California voters passed Proposition 47, a ballot initiative aimed at criminal justice reform, which reclassified thefts up to $950 as misdemeanors. As a result, such thefts are rarely prosecuted.

The crime spike began under former district attorney George Gascón, who is now district attorney for Los Angeles County, and has continued under Chesa Boudin, who now faces a likely recall election.

Is Stealing Wrong?

To most readers of this column, the question is absurd. The reason is not because the question is, in fact, absurd; it is because most readers of this column are conservative, and many are religious.

Am I implying that most leftists do not believe stealing is wrong?

Yes, I am.

As incredible as this assertion is to just about all religious people and virtually all conservatives, most leftists do not believe stealing is wrong. Since I always draw a distinction between those on the Left and liberals, let me add that I suspect most liberals think stealing is wrong. But it almost doesn't matter because they vote for people who do not think it is.

One proof is the passage of Proposition 47, a California ballot initiative passed in 2014, under which theft of less than $950 in goods is treated as a nonviolent misdemeanor and rarely prosecuted. As a result, in Democrat-run California cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, retail theft has soared.

Walgreens stores in San Francisco are racking up four times the average amount of theft in Walgreens stores across the country; spending on security guards in San Francisco is 35 times more than the chain's average in other cities. Walgreens has been forced to close 22 stores in the city since 2016.

As reported in the San Francisco Chronicle: "The Safeway located in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood ... was a longstanding, 24-hour fixture in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood. But as of last week, the store's hours have been cut back to 6 a.m. to 9 p.m ... A Safeway spokesperson (said) that the cutbacks are 'due to an increasing amount of theft at the store.'"

Further proof that the Left doesn't consider theft wrong — at least when committed by a person of color — was an interview broadcast on NPR last year with the author of a book titled "In Defense of Looting." The NPR interviewer threw only softball questions to the author.

In the last election, Los Angeles voters elected San Francisco's previous district attorney, George Gascon, as Los Angeles's district attorney. It was Los Angeles's way of declaring that stealing is not wrong. And it is worth noting that it is not only racial minorities and the poor who make these elections possible; it is also prosperous whites. The Los Angeles DA is a wealthy white, and he was supported by a white billionaire, George Soros.

It is hard to believe that millions of Americans do not deem stealing from stores morally wrong, so let's try to explain how this has come about.

Reason No. 1 is moral relativism. For as long as there has been a Left, it has rejected moral absolutes. As the great British historian, Paul Johnson, pointed out a half-century ago in his magnum opus, "Modern Times," the secular world applied the relativism of the natural sciences to morality.

Reason No. 2 is the reason for reason number one: the collapse of the Judeo-Christian value system and the accompanying abandonment of, and often disdain for, biblical ethics. Biblical morality posits moral absolutes — meaning that stealing is wrong for everyone, certainly people of every color. Yes, one can offer a biblical defense of a starving man stealing food for his starving family. But that is hardly what is happening in San Francisco and other American cities.

Reason No. 3 is Marxist morality. From Marx to the present, Marxism has divided the world not between right and wrong, but between economic classes. Therefore, it is morally acceptable for members of the poorer classes to steal from members of the more affluent classes. This notion has made its way into young people's minds for decades. About 30 years ago, I spoke to students from four Cleveland high schools. I asked them to raise their hand if they would steal something they really wanted from a department store if they were certain they would not get caught. Nearly all the students raised their hands. When I asked some of them to justify their reasoning, they all said the same thing: they wouldn't steal from a mom-and-pop store, but they would steal from a department store. It is OK to steal from "the rich."

Reason No. 4 is leftists' view of nonwhites, especially blacks, a view that conservatives have never shared. Leftists truly believe that blacks are intellectually and morally inferior to whites. The evidence? They do not believe blacks should be held to the same intellectual and moral standards to which leftists hold whites. Leftists do not defend whites who steal, and they hold whites to higher intellectual standards. Leftists do not argue for lowering math standards for whites, only for blacks.

The bottom line is the Left is immoral. That is why it defends stealing.
