Parkland father Andrew Pollack spoke to Breitbart News about Tuesday’s heinous attack on Robb Elementary School in Texas, saying, “We print money and send billions around the world, yet we leave our children unprotected.”

Pollack lost his precious daughter, Meadow, in the February 14, 2018, attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

He responded to the Robb Elementary School shooting by tweeting:

Pollack told Breitbart News, “There is no reason why every school doesn’t have a single point [of entry] with an armed resource officer and teachers who are trained/armed to protect students.”

He added, “It’s 2022 — why would you send your kids to a school that doesn’t have a single point of entry and armed guard?”

Pollack then reflected on the horrible day on which he lost his daughter. “Everyone in the country thinks it can’t happen to them, but if your school isn’t secure, it can.”

Urging parents to get involved, he said, “Parents who do not insist on safety precautions are rolling the dice every day when they drop their kids off at the school.”

Pollack worked with President Trump on school safety and has since launched a campaign to help schools achieve and maintain a safe environment for students. His school safety protocols can be found here.

An active shooter situation in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, left 19 children and two adults dead. A hospital report also states that 14 children and at least one adult are being treated by hospitals in Uvalde and San Antonio. The shooter was killed by responding police, the governor added.

Border Patrol agents, BORTAC special response team, and Texas Highway Patrol troopers are on the scene to assist local first responders. The situation unfolded at approximately 11:50 local time when shots were initially heard in the vicinity of the elementary campus.

UPDATE 10:50 p.m.: The Associated Press reports that the death toll now stands at 19 children killed and two adults.

UPDATE 4:20 p.m.: School district police say the shooter, a U.S. citizen who graduated from the local high school, acted alone in the incident. Robb Elementary School houses students in the second, third, and fourth grades, the police chief stated.

UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: KSAT reports that Uvalde Station Border Patrol agents responded to the shooting and provided immediate medical care to those injured in the school.

UPDATE 4 p.m.: Governor Abbott’s statement on Tuesday afternoon:

Texans across the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless crime and for the community of Uvalde. Cecilia and I mourn this horrific loss and we urge all Texans to come together to show our unwavering support to all who are suffering. We thank the courageous first responders who worked to finally secure Robb Elementary School. I have instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to work with local law enforcement to fully investigate this crime. The Texas Division of Emergency Management is charged with providing local officials all resources necessary to respond to this tragedy as the State of Texas works to ensure the community has what it needs to heal.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: From a press conference on Tuesday Governor Abbott described the circumstances of the shooting:

The shooter was Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old male who resided in Uvalde. It’s believed that he entered into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde with a handgun, and he may have also had a rifle, but that is not confirmed according to my most recent report. He shot and killed, horrifically, incomprehensibly, 14 students and killed a teacher. [the shooter], he himself, is deceased, and it’s believed that responding officers killed him.

Original Story Continues:

By 12:15 local time, an active shooter was still reported on site.

No formal disclosures of victims have been given as of press time.

Uvalde Police noted that at 1:06pm local time, the suspect shooter was in custody.

Victims from the shooting are confirmed to be in local hospital care.

Parents are now clear to report to the reunification site to pick up children. This was delayed to account for all potential victims and survivors, per the school’s Facebook page earlier in the day.

KENS CBS 5 reports that hospital officials say a 66-year-old woman is in critical condition. A child is also being treated, but the child’s condition is not reported at this time. Uvalde Memorial Hospital reported two deaths and 15 injuries. The two deaths are reported to be children who arrived dead at the hospital, KSAT reports.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott identified the shooter as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. The governor added that responding police officers shot and killed the active shooter.

This is a rapidly developing story. Updates will be posted as received.

Multiple news outlets and a Texas state senator are reporting that Robb Elementary School shooting suspect Salvador Ramos purchased two rifles legally.

Yahoo News notes that Texas state Sen. Roland Gutierrez told CNN Ramos “purchased two assault rifles on his 18th birthday.”

Los Angeles Times legal affairs columnist Harry Litman pointed out, “[The] shooter bought the two assault rifles from a FFL on his recent 18th birthday.”

The Houston Chronicle observed that the Robb Elementary School shooting suspect “legally purchased two rifles in the days following his 18th birthday, authorities said.”

The Chronicle added, “Officials said they recovered the two AR-15 style rifles from the scene at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.”

Breitbart News reported that Gov. Greg Abbott (R) gave an early afternoon press conference Tuesday in which he indicated Ramos “entered into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde with a handgun, and he may have also had a rifle.”

A May 16, 2022, column in the New York Times asks the question, “What Do Most Mass Shooters Have in Common?”

The NYT then answers its own question by explaining that the common tie among most mass shooters is that “they bought their guns legally.”

Leftists trashed moderate Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, blaming the tragedy on their stance against defeating the filibuster.

“We are horrified and heartbroken by the senseless tragedy unfolding at Robb Elementary School in Texas and grateful to the first responders for acting swiftly. No families should ever have to fear violence in their children’s schools,” Sinema tweeted in response to the shooting that killed 19 children.

The trolls were swift and merciless in their responses to her:

Joe Manchin did not fare any better.

Biden Blames the 'Gun Lobby,' Warns Republicans: 'We Need to Let You Know That We Will Not Forget'

(CNSNews.com) - "I am sick and tired of it.  We have to act.  And don’t tell me we can’t have an impact on this carnage," an emotional President Biden said Tuesday night, following a horrific shooting at the elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

An 18-year-old high school student armed with a semi-automatic weapon shot and killed at least 19 children and two teachers.

The president blamed the "gun lobby," the reflexive response of people who believe gun bans are the solution. There was no mention of hardening schools with metal detectors or other serious security measures used to prevent mass shootings at airports, government buildings, even museums.

"As a nation, we have to ask: When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?" Biden asked.

"I spent my career as a senator and as vice president working to pass commonsense gun laws. We can’t and won’t prevent every tragedy. But we know they work and have a positive impact.  When we passed the assault weapons ban, mass shootings went down. When the law expired, mass shootings tripled.

"The idea that an 18-year-old kid can walk into a gun store and buy two assault weapons is just wrong. What in God’s name do you need an assault weapon for except to kill someone? Deer aren’t running through the forest with Kevlar vests on, for God’s sake. It’s just sick.

"And the gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons, which make them the most and largest profit. For God’s sake, we have to have the courage to stand up to the industry."

Biden said the U.S. has far more mass shootings than other countries, but those countries also have people with mental health problems and domestic disputes: "Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen? Where in God’s name is our backbone to have the courage to deal with it and stand up to the lobbies?" Biden asked.

Biden also warned Republicans and others who support the right of law-abiding citizens to own guns:

"For every parent, for every citizen in this country, we have to make it clear to every elected official in this country: It’s time to act. It’s time. For those who obstruct or delay or block the commonsense gun laws, we need to let you know that we will not forget."

'What are our children worth?'

Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow was murdered in the 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting, told Fox News Tuesday night, how the mass murder in Uvalde might have been prevented:

"How hard could it be, to (have) a single point of entry, and one policemen or highly trained teachers at the school? he asked. "Even a single point of entry would prevent it. And it just angers me," he said.

He told parents it’s their responsibility to "check where your kids go to school, you need to go back to the school and see, is there a single point of entry? Do you have guards at the school?

"I got a message tonight, made me feel kind of good, from someone. They told me thanks. They thanked me because they listened to me. And they sent, they took their kid out of public school and put him in a private school. Because a lot of these private schools, they take security way more serious. So, parents, it's your responsibility where you bring your children, and you have to know."

Pollack told Laura Ingraham:

"We have $40 billion to send over to Ukraine to protect their borders, but we can't protect our children in our country. What are our children worth? How much money could that $40 billion -- how far could that have went?

“How many policemen could we have paid with $40 billion to be at schools, or to put in the glass that we need? Or the metal detectors in some of these -- in some areas or bulletproof glass? What could we have done with that $40 billion? So, when you hear politicians...either side, they voted to send $40 billion to Ukraine, and we could use it here in this country.

"Americans are suffering, and look what happened now, at the school. It really angers me, because I don't want to hear that we don't have budget to protect our children. That's not right."

Ingraham made the point that 51 people were shot and killed in Chicago, just in the month of April:

"And that's where a liberal mayor has presided for as long as I can remember. And so far this year, by the way, 218 people have been killed in Chicago. Have you heard Biden give an impassioned address about any of that? He doesn't speak about this. No Democrat really does, not even Lori Lightfoot, not much.

"Now we know why, because those victims, they're able to go nameless and faceless, because the elites kind of find their deaths irrelevant. Because those deaths cannot be used at least they think they can't be used, or they wouldn't be efficient to use them for political benefit.

"But we actually believe those victims' lives matter...So, after all this horrific news, I will still say this: Americans know a phony when they see one. And any politicians, I don't care if you're Republican, Democrat or somewhere in between, and you're seeking to use what happened today to help yourself, you should be ashamed of yourself.

"We have a political process in our country. If you want to change the law, if you want to change the Constitution, go ahead and get the votes and change the law or amend the Constitution. If you can do that, you will find success in whatever your goals are. But if you can't do that, don't come to the nation at a time of tragedy and try to shame the rest of us."
