Through April 30, Border Patrol agents rescued more than 10,500 migrants along the southwest border with Mexico. This compared to 12,833 for the entire FY21. During FY20 and FY19, agents rescued 5,071 and 4,920 respectively.

Katko: Biden Administration Can’t Account for 44 People on Terror Watch List Who Crossed the Southern Border

(CNSNews.com) – The Biden administration cannot account for 44 people on the terror watch list who crossed the southern border, and it took two weeks for them to apprehend one who traveled to Florida, Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.) told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday.

This comes as the FBI uncovered a plot involving an Iraqi man with ties to ISIS, who entered the U.S. on a tourist visa during the final months of the Trump administration and plotted to sneak other ISIS members across the southern border to kill former President George W. Bush.

Katko, who serves as ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, said the plot was “quite involved.”

“I know that there was substantial amount of chatter that was intercepted on Whatsapp and other internet chains and Part of the plot included like you noted trying to get people to come across the southern border. What’s really important about that is the bad guys know the southern border is open and they're figuring out ways to exploit it,” the congressman said.

“It took us a year to get the statistics from the Department of Homeland Security about the number of people on terror watch list that were seized at the border last year. There’s up to 35 now. So those are the ones we seized. It stands to reason that others have gotten through and it also now been confirmed that bad guys are trying to use the southern border to get bad people into this country,” he said.

Katko said that the fact that the ISIS terrorist was thinking of exploiting the southern border in such a way is his “worst fear” about the Biden administration’s border policy.

“That's like my worst fear about this administration's misplaced border policy or lack of a border policy is that they're looking at the southern border as wide open, and if bad guys are coming across, it’s a matter of time before something like this was going to happen, God forbid, and thank God the agents did a great job of interrupting the plot, but make no mistake about it, there’s probably others bubbling up too, and we’ve got to be vigilant,” he said.

“I don't know what it’s going to take for this administration to wake up and realize that their border policy is a mistake and it’s making our country much less safe,” the congressman said.

Host Bill Hemmer said he was told up until yesterday there were 44 people on the terror watch list who crossed into the country from the southern border.

When asked whether the U.S. can account for those 44 people, the congressman said, “No.

“There’s one example. Someone crossed -- came across, and they realized after he came across that he was on a terror watch list, and it took them two weeks for some unexplained reason for them to go and arrest him when he they found him in Florida. So it just goes to show you that they do not have operational control,” Katko said.

“They do not have a handle on the people coming across, and they’re really flirting with fire, and God forbid something bad happens. That’s too late then to say, I told you so. We want to say I told you so now, and stop this nonsense, and I just hope the administration will come to its senses, but they seem hell bent on wanting to keep an open border, and they’re really putting the American people in danger as a result,” he said.

Joe Biden’s DHS Removes Title 42 Barrier Piece-by-Piece

Technically, the Title 42 legal barrier on the border is still up — but pro-migration judges and agency officials are quietly cutting numerous loopholes for an unlimited number of wage-cutting migrants to enter ordinary Americans’ job markets.

On Monday, for example, President Joe Biden’s progressive deputies told border officers to welcome family groups as they cross the border, even though many are seeking to join their illegal-migrant husbands and fathers already working U.S. jobs.

NBC reported on May 24:

The new guidance issued to Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement went into effect at 12:01 a.m. Monday, according to documents obtained by NBC News. It states that if CBP officers notice at least one member of the family showing a verbal or nonverbal “manifestation of fear” of being expelled, they should either be released into the U.S. with a court date or sent to an asylum officer who can “determine whether the noncitizen is more likely than not to be persecuted or tortured in the country to which they would be expelled.”

A Department of Homeland Security official speaking on condition of anonymity told NBC News that while there is still some confusion among border agents and officials over the conflicting orders, the new ruling protecting migrant families is “the first nail in the coffin of Title 42.”

The new loophole was opened three days after a federal judge ordered officials to preserve the Title 42 barrier, which allows officials to exclude migrants during an epidemic. However, the judge did not curb officials’ ability to cut loopholes in the barrier.

Officials have already been allowing many family groups to enter under the claim that Mexico’s regional government cannot support the migrants in the huge cities butting up against the U.S. border.

Yet U.S. officials have applied no visible pressure to Mexico to get them to accept more of the migrants. Nor have U.S. officials sought to fly the rejected migrants back to their home countries.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump and his deputies strongly pressured Mexico to accept rejected migrants and also flew migrants back to their home countries.

Agency officials are also minimizing network TV coverage of the migration by working with a  nationwide network of pro-migrant groups. The taxpayer-aided groups help to hide the migration by housing and feeding the migrants and by helping to bus and fly them to their desired jobs sites.

The deliberately lax enforcement of the border is imposing huge economic costs on native Americans. For example, the migrant inflow cuts their wages, boosts their housing prices, and sidelines them in their own nation’s politics and culture.

In April, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recorded 244,000 “encounters” with migrants and allowed 137,000 of them to cross the border.

In 2022, while Title 42 was operational, DHS allowed 641,000 migrants to cross the border. In 2021, officials allowed 630,000 migrants to cross. The total inflow is boosted by the perhaps 1 million “got-always” who sneaked across the border, plus the annual inflow of roughly 1 million legal immigrants and one million visa workers.

Overall, the legal and illegal inflow adds up to more than two migrants for every four Americans who turn 18.

The vast legal and illegal inflow cuts wages for ordinary Americans, according to a May analysis by New York’s leading Wall Street firm, Goldman Sachs. The report suggested that 2.5 million foreign workers would cut roughly $100 billion from Americans’ wages, so boosting stock values by roughly $2 trillion.

Biden’s pro-migration, Cuban-born border chief. Alejandro Mayorkas previously exempted children, youths, and young men who claim to be younger than 18 from the border barrier.

Mayorkas’ “Unaccompanied Alien Children” exemption has allowed many young job-seekers to walk through the border and has allowed illegal migrants in the United States to import their children and place them in overcrowded American schools.

Mayorkas has also helped single male migrants sneak across the border. For example, he diverts most border agents from border duties to instead help families get registered and transported to their destinations. Also, migrants who are caught crossing the border are often trucked back to Mexico — instead of being flown home — so they can try again a few days later.

Roughly 60,000 migrants sneak across the border each month.

The migrants are coming to work partly because U.S. jobs pay far more than jobs in their poor, autocratic countries, such as Cuba or Nicaragua.

In May 2021, Reuters described one of Mayorkas’s imported workers, a Guatelaman migrant named Nicolas. Under Mayorkas’ watch, Nicolas tried six times to sneak into the United States and each time was returned by Mayorkas to the five-yard line in Mexico instead of to his home 2,000 miles away. But Nicolas’s desperation guided him over Mayorkas’s obstacle course, according to Reuters:

“I thought, ‘I cannot return to Guatemala. I’m going to fight,” Nicolas said, remembering the promise to provide for his three children and wife. He had used her land as collateral to pay for the trip.

But the migrant brings their poverty with them by allowing U.S. employers to cut wages, ignore heartland communities, minimize technology investments, and boost investors’ wealth.

Also, Mayorkas is refusing to deport migrants caught in the interior unless they have been found guilty of violent crimes.

Mayorkas is also laying the bureaucratic groundwork to bar border agents from chasing coyotes’ cars as they carry illegal migrants north from the border. The Associated Press reported on May 24: “Shaw Drake, an attorney for the ACLU of Texas, said the policy review was “certainly a welcome step in the right direction” but that it was difficult to comment without specifics.”

EXCLUSIVE: Half-Million Migrants Cross Border in Ten Weeks

More than a half-million migrants illegally crossed the southwest border with Mexico during a 10-week period ending on May 15. The record-setting mass migration crisis is overwhelming Border Patrol and NGO resources as they deal with the chaotic level of border crossings.

Between April 1 and May 15 approximately 513,000 migrants illegally crossed the southwest border with Mexico. The number reflects apprehensions cited in the April Southwest Border Migration Report and unofficial numbers obtained from a law enforcement source within CBP.

The source stated that agents apprehended approximately 47,000 migrants just in the past seven days.

Until recently, the Rio Grande Valley and Del Rio Sectors led the nation in migrant apprehensions. However, a recent surge in the El Paso Sector pushed the remote Texas-New Mexico sector into the lead, Breitbart Texas reported. The source told Breitbart that El Paso Sector agents detained nearly 5,000 migrants in area processing center on Monday. Haitian migrants accounted for about 50 percent of this total.

The El Paso Sector currently sits at more than double its standard capacity. The source says in recent days, migrant apprehensions in the sector have exceeded 1,500. Del Rio Sector officials report their processing centers are approximately 40 percent over capacity.

April migration along the southwest border set an all-time record for April apprehensions as agents took more than 201,000 migrants into custody, Breitbart reported. The report surpasses the previous record set during the last year of the Clinton administration.

The record-level apprehension of 201,800 migrants in April marks a dramatic turn around from the record-low April apprehension report from 2020 when agents took a mere 16,182 migrants into custody. This represents an increase of nearly 1,150 percent during the past two years.

In addition to the more than 1.2 million migrants apprehended so far this fiscal year, an additional 364,000 migrants simply got away and made their way successfully into the U.S. interior, Breitbart reported.

“The fact is that our borders are not open, and we will continue to remove those who enter our country unlawfully and have no legal basis to stay,” CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus said in a written statement on Tuesday releasing the April Southwest Land Border Encounters report. “After many months of planning, we are executing a comprehensive strategy to safely, orderly, and humanely manage our borders.”

In reality, the southwest border with Mexico is anything but safe, orderly, and humane as nearly two dozen migrants drowned in the Del Rio Border Patrol in April. Video reports from Eagle Pass and the Rio Grande Valley continue to show migrants crossing at will. Other reports show the inhumane and life-threatening circumstances that take place in human smuggling operations along the border.

Report: ISIS Plotted to Assassinate George W. Bush by Smuggling Terrorists through Biden’s Open Border

An accused Islamic State (ISIS) operative living in Columbus, Ohio, allegedly sought to smuggle terrorists through the United States-Mexico border in a plot to assassinate former President George W. Bush, an unsealed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) search warrant application reveals.

The documents, reviewed by Forbes, seemingly detail widespread fraud across numerous aspects of the nation’s immigration system, from asylum claims to the record-breaking porous southern border under President Joe Biden’s direction.

According to the documents reviewed by Forbes, an accused ISIS operative had been plotting to carry out an assassination of Bush. The operative allegedly traveled to Dallas, Texas, to photograph and shoot video of Bush’s home and the George W. Bush Institute.

Most prominently, the operative wanted to use the nation’s porous southern border to smuggle ISIS terrorists into the U.S. interior, who would then help carry out the assassination plot, Forbes reports:

In November 2021, the suspect revealed to the FBI insider the plot to assassinate Bush and asked the confidential source if he knew how to “obtain replica or fraudulent police and/or FBI identifications and badges” to help carry out the killing, and whether it was possible to smuggle the plotters out of the country the same way they came in after their mission was complete, according to the warrant. The alleged smuggler said he also wanted to find and assassinate a former Iraqi general who helped Americans during the war and whom he believed was living under a fictitious identity in the U.S., investigators said. [Emphasis added]

In one conversation with a confidential FBI source, the suspect said he was planning to get four Iraqi national males located in Iraq, Turkey, Egypt and Denmark into the U.S., according to the warrant. In a later conversation, he claimed that one of the four was “the secretary of an ISIS financial minister,” the FBI said. The alleged smuggler described the men as “former Baath Party members in Iraq who did not agree with the current Iraqi government and were political exiles,” the FBI said. He was planning to charge each $15,000 to be smuggled into America, the FBI said. The Baath Party was the political organization of Hussein, who was deposed in the 2003 U.S. invasion. [Emphasis added]

His plan, according to the warrant, was to get Mexican visitor visas for the ISIS operatives, using passport information he would send to the informant over WhatsApp, before getting them over the border. Meanwhile, he was communicating with a contact in Egypt over a fake Facebook profile, which carried a profile picture of two individual hands each holding a rose, designed to look romantic and “not suspicious,” according to the FBI’s account. In 2021, the FBI got a warrant to search that Facebook account, though it’s unclear what they obtained. [Emphasis added]

The accused ISIS operative has reportedly been living in Columbus since 2020 and has an asylum application pending with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency. Further details of how the operative arrived in the U.S. were not reported by Forbes.

The operative, the documents allege, had previously bragged about smuggling two Hezbollah terrorists into the U.S. for $100,000. Likewise, the operative claimed to have helped murder American citizens in Iraq from 2003 to 2006.

It is not clear whether the operative has been arrested by the FBI, according to Forbes, and no charges have been filed in the case.

The alleged assassination plot is only the latest case under Biden that illustrates severe weaknesses in the administration’s seemingly inability to properly screen, vet, and control immigration at the border and through refugee pipelines.

Following the U.S. Armed Forces’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, Biden opened a refugee and parole pipeline for tens of thousands of Afghans to quickly be flown into American communities without being screened or interviewed in person beforehand.

As Breitbart News reported, a Department of Defense Inspector General report reveals that Biden’s agencies failed to properly vet Afghans arriving in the United States. As of November 2021, the report states that 50 Afghans already in the United States had been flagged for “significant security concerns.”

Most of the unvetted Afghans flagged for possible terrorism ties, the report states, have since disappeared into the nation’s interior. In one instance, the report noted that only three of 31 Afghans flagged months ago for security concerns could be located.

A recent Project Veritas report alleged that the Biden administration had resettled Afghans listed on the federal government’s “Terrorism Watch List” across American communities.

Since Biden took office in January 2021, 42 illegal aliens on the FBI Terrorist Watch List or No-Fly List have been apprehended at the southern border. In April 2021, two illegal aliens from Yemen arrived at the border. Both were on the Terrorism Watch List and the No-Fly List.

Former Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan has questioned, to Breitbart News, about what exactly DHS has done with those accused of terrorism or having terrorism ties after arriving at the border.

“The real question we need to be asking this administration is, what did you do with the 23 people from the Terrorism Screening Database you took custody of?” Morgan said. “Their arrest would have triggered further investigation by the FBI and other law enforcement entities.”

“Did you release some or all?” he asked. “Did you remove some or all?”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, during a congressional hearing in April, could not say definitively that none of those 42 illegal aliens on the FBI Terrorist Watch List or No-Fly List apprehended at the border had been released into the U.S. interior.

Katko: Biden Admin. ‘Wouldn’t Give’ Us Information on Terrorists at Border

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” House Homeland Security Committee Ranking Member Rep. John Katko (R-NY) reacted to news that a man linked to ISIS wanted to smuggle people across the U.S.-Mexico border to help him carry out a plan to assassinate former President George W. Bush by stating that, for about a year, Congress fought the Biden administration “tooth and nail to try and get information about the number of terrorists that were coming across the border on the terror watch list that had been seized. And they wouldn’t give it to us.”

Katko said, “This is precisely the concern that we’ve had with the open border policies of the Biden administration. For the first year or so — last year or so, we were fighting with them tooth and nail to try and get information about the number of terrorists that were coming across the border on the terror watch list that had been seized. And they wouldn’t give it to us. They finally gave it to us. And now we know that there was a plot to assassinate a former president and it was going to be carried out by smuggling people across the southern border. You overlay with that the fact that they had someone seized at the border, let him go, and then it took them two weeks after they realized they were on the terror watch list before they just arrested that person in Florida. So, for them to say that the southern border is not a national security issue is laughable. And this is deeply troubling.”

Report: Biden’s DHS Released Illegal Alien on ‘Terrorism Watch List’ into U.S.

PCSO

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is accused of releasing an illegal alien on the federal government’s “Terrorism Watch List” into the United States and not detaining him for two weeks.

According to an exclusive report from Fox News, 35-year-old illegal alien Isnardo Garcia Amado of Colombia was released into the U.S. interior by DHS officials on April 18. Amado, like tens of thousands of other border crossers each month, was released with a GPS tracking device as part of Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network.

Amado, according to the Fox News report, was subsequently flagged on April 21 as having matched with an individual listed on the government’s Terrorism Watch List. Biden’s DHS did not authorize Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to arrest Amado until more than a week later on May 4.

On May 6, two days after ICE agents were given the go-ahead to arrest Amado, the illegal alien was arrested in Pinellas County, Florida. On May 9, Fox News reports, local law enforcement turned Amado over to ICE agents, and he remains in federal custody pending an immigration hearing.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) told Fox News in a statement that the Biden administration has failed to provide his office with all information pertaining to border crossers and illegal aliens being resettled in the state.

“We demand to know why DHS released a suspected terrorist into the United States and allowed him to live freely in Florida for weeks,” DeSantis told Fox News. “How many more known or suspected terrorists has the Biden administration allowed into our country?”

As Breitbart News has reported, more than 954,000 border crossers have been released into American communities by the Biden administration from February 2021 to April 2022. This is greater than the population of five states, and twice the population of Miami, Florida.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, during a congressional hearing in April, could not say definitively that none of those 42 illegal aliens on the FBI Terrorist Watch List or No-Fly List apprehended at the border had been released into the U.S. interior.

“With respect to the disposition of each one, I do not know the answer to your question,” Mayorkas said of the terrorism cases at the border.

DHS Data: Biden’s ‘Sanctuary Country’ Orders Cut Deportations of Criminal Illegal Aliens

2:55

President Joe Biden’s so-called “sanctuary country” orders are directly responsible for a massive drop in deportations of illegal aliens, newly released federal data shows.

In February 2021, Biden implemented a series of orders protecting most of the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal aliens from arrest and deportation. The most expansive is Biden’s so-called “sanctuary country” orders that prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from arresting and deporting most illegal aliens — even those with criminal convictions.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) obtained ICE data through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, showing Biden’s orders slashed deportations of illegal aliens.

“The ICE records indicate that the drop in enforcement activity in 2021 is directly attributable to the implementation of the Biden enforcement policies,” CIS Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan writes.

The ICE data shows that before Biden’s orders were implemented, from October 1, 2020, to February 2, 2021, agents were deporting about 121 illegal aliens every day from the United States interior including about ten illegal aliens classified as “aggravated felons.”

After Biden’s orders went into effect, from February 18, 2021, to September 30, 2021, deportations from the U.S. interior dropped 46 percent to just 65 deportations a day.

Center for Immigration Studies

Center for Immigration Studies

As Breitbart News previously reported, the ICE data shows the Biden administration is deporting fewer criminal illegal aliens convicted and accused of crimes like murder, kidnapping, and sexual assault.

For instance, deportations for illegal alien convicts dropped 62 percent in Fiscal Year 2021, with less than 40,000 being deported from the United States, compared to Fiscal Year 2020, when nearly 104,000 illegal alien convicts were deported.

That data is consistent with overall deportation levels where from February 2021 to September 2021, just 14,585 illegal aliens living in the U.S. interior were been deported. Compare that figure to the last four months of the Trump administration, when nearly 17,000 illegal aliens were deported from the U.S. interior.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is suing the Biden administration over the orders, arguing that the policy unfairly punts the burden of illegal immigration to states.

1600 Migrants Crossed into West Texas and ‘Got Away’ over Weekend

Large Migrant Groups apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol/Del Rio.Sector

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol officials report that more than 4,700 migrants illegally crossed into Texas over the past weekend and, of those, at least 1,600 “got away” without being apprehended.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted a video in which he reported that his agents apprehended 3,133 migrants over the weekend. An additional 1,614 migrants are classified as “got aways.” Got aways are a term Border Patrol officials utilize to estimate the number of migrants who cross without being apprehended. They include migrants observed on patrol or by surveillance technology but manage to escape or agents are not able to get to because of other assignments — including the processing of large migrant groups.

In addition, Del Rio Sector agents rescued 11 migrants. These include seven migrants rescued by BORSTAR Border Patrol agents early Saturday morning, Breitbart Texas reported.

Through April 30, Border Patrol agents rescued more than 10,500 migrants along the southwest border with Mexico. This compared to 12,833 for the entire FY21. During FY20 and FY19, agents rescued 5,071 and 4,920 respectively.

Not all migrants are as lucky as these seven. Earlier last week, Breitbart Texas reported that Del Rio Sector agents recovered the bodies of three migrants. Two of the migrants drowned and agents found the third on a ranch near Uvalde, Texas.

Chief Owens reported four more deaths over the weekend — two from drowning and two others found dead on interior ranches miles from the border.
