A number of Democrat-run cities in the United States have seen violent crime jump in 2022 compared to last year, a report has found.

Per data reviewed by Fox News, rates of violent crime – comprised of homicide, rape, robbery, and assault –  in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Baltimore “are all on pace to break their 2021 levels.”

While speaking with Fox News, Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute called the alarming jumps in violent crime the “Ferguson Effect 2.0 or the Minneapolis Effect.”

“George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police in late May was justly condemned — but the event has now spurred an outpouring of contempt against the pillars of law and order that has no precedent in American history,” she explained.

Democrat Mayor Eric Adams’s New York City is enduring the highest uptick in violent crime of any of the cities as there has been a 25.8 percent increase in homicide, rape, robbery, and assault, compared to the same period in 2021, Fox News reports. Moreover, the Big Apple’s crime statistics show the seven major felony categories – including the four violent crimes in conjunction with burglary, grand larceny auto, and grand larceny – have risen an astounding 38 percent through June 19 when referenced to the same time frame last year.

Around 2:35 p.m. officers were heading to a radio call with their lights and sirens on when a car pulled in front of them, stopped suddenly and reversed into the police car. The driver of the car exited, was wearing body armor, and had his right hand concealed behind him. He moved toward the officers who had exited their patrol car. He counted "3, 2, 1" and began to move his arm to the front of his body, at which time there was an officer involved shooting. The man was struck by gunfire and pronounced deceased at scene. Force Investigation Division detectives are on scene conducting interviews and gathering evidence. The man who was shot and killed by the Los Angeles Police Department has been identified as 34-year-old Richard Solitro. Violent crime has also jumped substantially in Mayor Eric Garcetti’s (D) Los Angeles (L.A), jumping 8.6 percent this year compared to last. On the heels of the nationwide protests following George Floyd’s death, the city of Los Angeles moved to ax $150,000,000 from the police department’s budget, as Breitbart News reported. Homicides have increased by 7.3 percent, Fox News noted in a separate report.

Law-abiding citizens in Washington, DC, have borne the brunt of the second-highest violent crime increase of the six cities in 2022, according to Fox News. To this point in the year, the four crimes have soared 12 percent in Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser’s D.C. when referenced with the same period last year. Homicide rates alone have climbed 13.3 percent this year compared to last.

In Atlanta, violent crime has seen a year-over-year jump of 5.5 percent under the leadership of Mayor Andre Dickens (D), with homicide rates skyrocketing 13.3 percent, according to Fox News’s reports. In Mayor Brandon Scott’s (D) Baltimore, violent crime has risen 6.1 percent since last year, and homicides have climbed 7.7 percent. Philadelphia has suffered a comparable increase in violent crime under the direction of Mayor James Kenney (D), climbing an even 7 percent in 2022 compared to the first half of 2021.

While violent crime rates in New York City, L.A., D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, are on the rise, New Orleans, Louisiana “is on pace to become the nation’s murder capital at current trends,” Breitbart News reported Tuesday.

More than 50,000 residents left San Francisco last year, the highest population decrease of any major U.S. city.

Between July 2020 and July 2021, 54,813 people exited the Bay Area—a 6.3 percent decline resulting in San Francisco's smallest population in a decade. High housing costs, rising crime, and rampant public vagrancy likely fueled the exodus, as residents have soured on the Golden City's liberal leadership.

Voters in a June recall election ousted radical prosecutor Chesa Boudin for his soft-on-crime approach. Two-thirds of Asian Americans opposed Boudin, spurred on by his failure to quell attacks against seniors in their communities.

Driven by worries over public safety, a majority of Bay Area voters disapprove of Democratic mayor London Breed, according to a June San Francisco Examiner poll. Breed slashed the city's police budget by $120 million in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death but reversed course 18 months later, making an emergency request to beef up law enforcement funding as crime soared.

The homicide rate in San Francisco has shot up 37 percent in the past two years. A retail theft wave garnered national attention last year, following California’s move to lessen penalties for shoplifting. Seventy percent of San Franciscans think their quality of life has declined, and 88 percent believe homelessness has worsened in recent years.

Rising housing costs are another major factor being cited for the decline. Some blame the zoning policies of the liberal city for inflating the cost of living, exacerbating homelessness.

Other liberal-run, large cities grappling with crime and homelessness have seen substantial declines in population as well. The 15 fastest-growing U.S. cities sit in states run by Republican governors. And some San Francisco-based companies are fleeing California for red states.

HOW MANY HOMELESS PEOPLE WOULD THERE BE IN MEXIFORNIA IF THEY DEPORTED 10 MILLION DEM VOTING ILLEGALS???

Shellenberger was less confident that Democrats are committed to removing dangerous homeless camps from California's cities.

"This is how they will destroy America from within.  The leftist billionaires who orchestrate these plans are wealthy. Those tasked with representing us in Congress will never be exposed to the cost of the invasion of millions of migrants.  They have nothing but contempt for those of us who must endure the consequences of our communities being intruded upon by gang members, drug dealers and human traffickers.  These people have no intention of becoming Americans; like the Democrats who welcome them, they have contempt for us." PATRICIA McCARTHY

FOR LAWYER KAMALA HARRIS, THE LAWS SIMPLY DO NOT FACTOR INTO ANYTHING. SHE’S IN IT TO MAKE MONEY.

SO IS HER LAWYER HUSBAND!

https://mexicanoccupation.blogspot.com/2020/11/lawyer-kamala-harris-as-vice-president.html

9. Why did your office decline to investigate the health supplement fraud cases involving companies your husband’s law firm represented? Did you, as California’s attorney general, ever purposefully decline investigating or prosecuting clients of your husband’s law firm?

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and her husband, attorney Douglas Emhoff, gave 1.1% of their income to charity in 2019, tax records show.

Harris reported giving $35,390 to charity, while she and her husband earned $3,095,950 in taxable income.

The best-case scenario is that she’s a progressive who repeatedly violated her own principles so that she could promote her career. In the worst-case scenario, she’s just another corrupt, rotten, regressive prosecutor.

San Francisco

To paraphrase a line inaccurately attributed to Mark Twain: The most unsafe I ever felt in Iran was seven years later on the streets of San Francisco.

Like many of the city's tourists, I'm staying in the Tenderloin district. A local shares some advice: "Watch your back. And your front." My hotel is next to a pot dispensary and across the street from a luxury apartment building where the monthly rent for a 387 sq. ft. studio starts at $3,300. These are among the only going concerns on the entire block, which is teeming with trash and drug-addled vagrants.

As disconcerting as the daylight hours are, the Tenderloin is a dystopian nightmare after dark. The 200-yard walk to Chico's Pizza feels like two miles. The three-minute timeframe suggested by Google Maps does not take into account improvised detours to evade the hordes of frenetic zombies roaming the streets and shouting at no one in particular. Before drifting off to sleep I am jolted awake by an automated voice—the voice of God?—blaring outside my window: "You are trespassing. This area is under video surveillance and you have been recorded." I start to wonder if I'd merely dreamed that U.S. Army recruiting commercial about how the military is a fun club where you get to drink beers and shoot pool with your buddies. (I had not.)

It doesn't feel very safe. Some liberals argue it's morally abhorrent to feel this way, that it is simply an expression of "discomfort with poverty being more visible." In the words of one local columnist, the city's Democratic leaders should stop "pandering" to "affluent city dwellers who freak out any time they see a f—ing homeless person." Even in San Francisco, these attitudes are starting to chafe. Days from now, a diverse coalition of city residents will vote to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin, the Yale-educated son of domestic terrorists and former Hugo Chavez intern whose "arrogant" demeanor and radical approach to criminal justice reform managed to piss off a majority of the city's solidly progressive voters. Asian Americans in particular were eager to fire Boudin given his refusal to crack down on violent offenders as anti-Asian hate crimes surged in 2021.

The writing was on the wall. Boudin had struggled to feign enthusiasm during a last ditch get-out-the-vote rally at an "unapologetically punk" dive bar in the Mission district. I managed to avoid becoming (I assume) the only Trump-Boudin donor in America by pretending to pay the recommended entry fee on my phone, and arrived just in time for the emotional reunion of a recently paroled domestic terrorist (Boudin's father David Gilbert) and Angela Davis, a former Communist Party vice-presidential candidate and winner of the Lenin Peace Prize. The embattled district attorney blamed his plight on "Republican billionaires." Days before the recall vote, he appeared in one of the saddest photos ever taken.

Alas, firing Boudin won't change the fact that large swaths of San Francisco, a city that hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1960, are s—holes."It's disgusting," says my Uber driver, Amjad, a Tesla-owning accountant who is trying to afford the $30,000 a year it costs to send his son to UC-San Diego. He lives across the bay in Albany, where the schools are decent and the median house costs $1.3 million. Boudin is "a character," he says. "They're going to kick him out."

Parts of the city are, in fact, disgusting. The morning walk from my hotel to city hall is more harrowing than the one last night. Straight through the squalor past the tented allies, discarded syringes, and human droppings. Past the drug dealers hawking fentanyl to the 99.9+ percent of addicts who aren't earning half a million dollars on the board of a Ukrainian energy firm—some passed out on the sidewalk next to broken glass, some fiddling with their government-provided smoking kits, some wearing a ratty Oakland Raiders shirt and urging passersby to "avoid Canada at all costs!" (Fair enough.)

Past a Walgreens with half its entrance boarded up and an armed guard lurking just inside. Everything from pistachios and Slim Jims to mouthwash and Vagisil is already behind lock and key but they aren't taking any chances. Even the Ross Dress for Less has "loss prevention" officers standing guard. Around the corner to Black Box, a virtual reality gym where people pay $199 a month to experience "the future of fitness." Over to United Nations Plaza and the large vacant building at 1128 Market Street—80,000 sq. ft. of otherwise prime real estate that will struggle to find a tenant so long as the surrounding area remains a favored gathering spot for homeless addicts and a staging point for their taxpayer-funded enablers. Plenty of pride flags, though, and two old white ladies demanding climate action on the steps of city hall.

It's just as bad a little further south, past the Quaker Meeting House with the giant "Black Lives Matter" banner and over to the Pacific Gas & Electric Company's mission substation, an emphatically Soviet structure where the sign says "no loitering" but the small army of loitering vagrants says "f— the sign." They are supervised by harm-reduction acolytes from Urban Alchemy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to "transforming the energy in traumatized urban spaces." The CEO is a longtime friend of Mayor London Breed (D.), who has awarded the group a number of no-bid contracts to help clean up the "bullshit that has destroyed our city."

Urban Alchemy has been patrolling the area in their green-striped vests for several months. Most employees are ex-cons like "Huggy," who says he served 22 years on an array of charges and is trying to stay out of trouble. He has just intervened to stop a vagrant from pestering some poor old woman eating lunch near the Twitter headquarters on Market. His duties include "helping people find drugs safely" and "calling the supervisor" whenever someone collapses on the street or goes nuts and pulls a knife. He's ambivalent on Boudin but thinks the city has come a long way since the 1980s under Mayor Dianne Feinstein. "You'd get knocked the f— out."

In addition to the "bullshit" destroying San Francisco, the Democratic machine that runs things around here has other priorities to address. In the days leading up to the recall, for example, Mayor Breed established an official "drag laureate" post to honor the city's "commitment to inclusivity and the arts" and inspire "the next generation of drag performers." San Francisco public schools banned the word "chief" in response to "concerns" about its "connotation with Native Americans."

The city already funds "safe smoking kits," pays people to help addicts find drugs, and puts up billboards urging fentanyl users to "do it with friends." It also spends taxpayer dollars on anti-tobacco propaganda and ads supporting the Biden administration's controversial ban on menthol cigarettes. "Our loss is their profit," reads a poster sponsored by the California Department of Public Health. "Big Tobacco targets Black communities with menthol cigarettes." Damn those evil corporations. Why can't they be more like the scrappy entrepreneurs flooding our streets with meth and fentanyl? Boudin and his fellow Democrats love to blame their problems on others. The problem with San Francisco is there's no one else to blame.

The Surrounding Environs

Parking a Tesla correctly is easier than you'd expect from watching Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) traipse around her posh Washington, D.C., neighborhood in her Model 3. Driving one isn't as fun as you might expect. It's like driving one of Arianna Huffington's nap pods for anxious Millennials. The acceleration is fantastic, but without the satisfying roar of a real engine, more of a dull whine—somewhat irritating like the sound of someone vacuuming down the hall with the door closed.

Gas is $7 a gallon. This is the future ruling class liberals want. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told Americans they wouldn't "have to worry about gas prices again" if they bought a fancy electric car like his Ford Mustang Mach-E. Alas, the Mexican-made SUV has since been recalled due to a safety defect that "could cause a crash." Its price tag is equivalent to the median household income ($68,000) in the United States. AOC and other Democratic politicians love to brag about being rich enough to own an electric car, while also claiming to "feel the pain" of the unenlightened masses.

We'll all be driving them soon enough. On the bright side, Elon Musk will get even richer and grow even more insufferable—in a good way since it annoys the hell out of obnoxious online libs. This is the future the Bay Area has wrought: Nerd billionaires in outer space gazing down on fentanyl-ravaged wastelands. Heading south on the 101, my Tesla wheezes past gleaming empty skyscrapers touting companies with names like BitThrashr and Apex.dryft and 1mpacct. Everyone still works from home. San Jose, the 10th largest city in the country with a population of more than a million, calls itself the "Capital of Silicon Valley." Its downtown area has been charitably described as a "ghost town" that has "struggled … to transform itself into a destination."

On the contrary. Downtown San Jose is the ideal destination for those who want the grime and the ubiquitous hot garbage stench of New York City but without the crowds or entertainment. Plenty of homeless addicts, though, and a climbing gym with a massive banner declaring itself "No Place for Hate." There's a five-story mural of Ruth Bader Ginsburg holding up two fingers on which someone has spray-painted the words, "I dissent." She certainly would, if she weren't dead. Delaying retirement until President Hillary Clinton could name her successor was a brilliant idea.

The Adobe headquarters advertises its "sustainable landscape" of "low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants." It overlooks a highway overpass and park trail where the homeless have set up camp. It's a beautiful day. The parks are mostly empty save for some sleeping vagrants and a delightful weirdo wearing a fedora and carrying a briefcase labeled "Top Secret." The majority of the people on the street are construction workers building God knows what for God knows who. Luxury condos for Chinese money launderers? Extra parking for anti-racist mountaineers?

Berkeley is a total "vibe shift." It has people, anyway. Residents of the legendary college town apparently would be horrified if you walked an entire block without being reminded that they "stand united against hate." A lot of Ukrainian flags, too. How do you think Berkeley's hippie forefathers would feel about this? These coddled yuppies openly support a war effort aided and abetted by the military-industrial complex in a country they only care about because of an all-consuming hatred for Donald Trump and his "pee tape," "kompromat," "collusion." Bunch of sellouts.

Sure, the town has its bike lanes and fancy trash cans for "plant debris" and churches celebrating "God's inclusive love." But it's also home to the likes of Robert Reich, the university professor and former Clinton Labor secretary who was very concerned about income inequality until someone tried to build affordable housing units in his neighborhood, which is quite nice. An old man in an N-95 lurches onto Berryman Street to avoid passing within six feet of me. This evening I was planning to attend a "Conscious Cannabis" gathering where participants "journey deeply" via "guided meditation" and "the use of evocative music," an experience hailed as "deeply heart-opening." Canceled at the last minute. Classic stoner move.

I walk to People's Park instead. After a bunch of hippies occupied the site in 1969, Gov. Ronald Reagan sent in the cops to clear them out. He wasn't a fan of Berkeley, which he not unfairly called "a haven for communist sympathizers, protesters, and sex deviants." These days, People's Park is just another dumpy campsite for crackheads whose fathers aren't running for president. It was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Wake up. Head to the airport (SFO), which is nice in the same way airports in China and Qatar are nice. It gives a great first impression and politely invites you to ignore the unsavory bits. You can buy a latte from a robot.

This California City Removes Literal Tons of Garbage and Feces From Homeless Camps Each Month

Berkeley, Calif., has removed more than 75 tons of garbage, human waste, and drug paraphernalia from homeless camps since September, according to the city's latest budget proposal.

The 2023-2024 budget describes the work of Berkeley's Homeless Response Team, which it says "performed at least weekly garbage collection and debris removal from encampments across the City, removing over 151,000 pounds of trash between September 2021 and March 2022."

The scale of Berkeley's encampment cleanup efforts is indicative of the homelessness crisis facing many California cities, which worsened amid state and local government-imposed lockdowns during the pandemic. Sixty-four percent of Californians say homelessness is a "big problem" in their part of the state, and 63 percent say the number of homeless people in their community has grown.

With an estimated 535 homeless people living in tents or on the street in Berkeley, the city's cleanup efforts amount to nearly 500 pounds of garbage removed per homeless person per year. A spokesman for the city confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that human waste and drug paraphernalia factored into the weight of the trash removed from camps.

Berkeley resident Michael Shellenberger, who this month placed third in California's nonpartisan gubernatorial primary as an independent candidate, faults progressive policies for California's homelessness crisis. He said the tons of waste Berkeley collects from camps serve as proof of the city's rashness in allowing the homeless to shelter outside.

"The data showing that Berkeley's homeless population is producing 500 pounds of garbage per person is yet more evidence that it is unsafe and unsanitary to allow homeless people to sleep outside," Shellenberger told the Free Beacon. "The evidence comes just a few weeks after the release of data showing that homeless people in Los Angeles are three times more likely to die than homeless people in New York because most of the homeless in L.A. are unsheltered. How many more must die before California governor Gavin Newsom and the Democratic mayors of California's cities act?"

Berkeley's Homeless Response Team launched in September after a year and a half in which the city did not clean up encampments because of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, a period in which the "encampment situation … got much worse," according to the city spokesman. The city established the team with the objective of reducing "the impact of encampments on the city … while avoiding citation and arrest."

The Homeless Response Team "performed 16 closures of large and dangerous encampments," according to the budget, "resolving conditions that included raw sewage and human waste, loose and scattered syringes and drug paraphernalia, rodents and other vector hazards, rotting food, and obstruction of sidewalks and vehicular lanes of traffic."

The city boasted in the report that it issued zero criminal citations and made "only one arrest" in the process of clearing dangerous encampments of hazardous waste.

Richie Greenberg, one of the leaders of this month's successful campaign to recall far-left San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin, criticized Berkeley for tolerating open-air encampments, saying the money spent on clearing garbage and human waste should go toward "a permanent solution for the homeless problem."

As part of its efforts to clean up the streets, Berkeley offered shelter to "well over" 200 homeless people, the budget said. Sixty-one percent of those offered housing by the city refused. When asked by the Free Beacon about the low acceptance rate, Berkeley's spokesman said the city is "striving … to eliminate barriers to utilizing our shelters, to make them welcoming and comfortable, and to ensure that they create meaningful pathways to housing."

Berkeley is famous for its far-left policies—it was the first in the country to establish "sanctuary city" laws. Since the pandemic, however, the liberal city has bowed to increasing pressure from residents to take more aggressive action against homelessness. The city has moved to evict homeless RV-dwellers and began clearing out some larger encampments. The spokesman for Berkeley pointed to the city's roughly 5 percent decline in homelessness since 2019, telling the Free Beacon that Berkeley's efforts to fight homelessness are "paying off, even though we have so much more to do."

Shellenberger was less confident that Democrats are committed to removing dangerous homeless camps from California's cities.

"How much more garbage must accumulate before we require people to sleep indoors?" Shellenberger said. "Newsom and Democratic mayors appear intent to use the homeless population to destroy California's once-beautiful cities because they are in the grip of an anti-civilization ideology."

Attorney General Merrick Garland Visits Ukraine as U.S. Cities are ‘Under Siege’ by Criminals

President Joe Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland made a surprise visit to Ukraine as major American cities face skyrocketing murder rates and lawlessness.

On the visit Tuesday, Garland met with Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova near the Ukraine-Poland border.

Meanwhile, back in the United States, major cities are continuing to endure a crime wave that includes sky-high murder rates that show no signs of easing up. Fox News analysis shows five cities, in particular, are on pace to shatter their 2021 murder rates.

Fox News reports:

Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Milwaukee, and Atlanta have all seen homicide numbers outpace their mark from 2021 halfway through this year, with Milwaukee seeing the largest spike of the group, according to crime data reviewed by Fox News. Wisconsin’s largest city has recorded 96 homicides as of June 17 compared to 77 at this time a year ago, a 24.7% increase. [Emphasis added]

The numbers continue a trend that has plagued the country since 2020, when homicides in the U.S. increased nearly 30% compared to 2019. That trend continued last year, with the Council on Criminal Justice statistics showing homicides across the county in 2021 increased 5% over 2020. [Emphasis added]

The nation’s capital has been another victim of the trend in 2022, recording 93 homicides as of June 17 compared to 82 at this point a year ago, a 13.4% increase. Atlanta’s increasing rate came in just behind Washington D.C., with homicides as of June 11 coming in at 68 compared to 60 at the same point in 2021, a 13.3% increase. Baltimore (7.7%) and Los Angeles (7.3%) have also seen increased over last year, recording 153 and 162 homicides respectively, an increase over 2021’s year-to-date totals of 142 and 151. [Emphasis added]

In New Orleans, Louisiana, analysis shows the city is on pace to become the nation’s murder capital at current trends. Some have suggested the city is in “crisis mode” even if elected Democrats refuse to acknowledge the rising crime.

New Orleans City Councilman JP Morrell, a Democrat, recently posted in a statement that the city is “under siege, drowning in a culture of lawlessness and despair,” accompanied by footage of gangs taking over city streets.

FOX 8 News reports:

According to data from AH Datalytics, compiled using the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program, New Orleans has a per capita year-to-date homicide rate of 72 per 100,000 residents. The next three U.S. cities behind New Orleans are Birmingham with a per capita homicide rate of 59 per 100,000 residents and Baltimore and St. Louis, each with a per capita homicide rate of 58 per 100,000 residents. [Emphasis added]

New Orleans City Councilman Oliver Thomas, a Democrat, has suggested that the city calls in the U.S. National Guard to help.

“Maybe it’s time to talk about bringing in the National Guard,” Thomas said earlier this month. “If it’s realistic to save lives, to stop these people from coming to shoot up our town … if it’s realistic to stop them from disrespecting our municipal and criminal laws that may be the only realistic thing we can count on.”

KAMALA HARRIS AND BLACK SUPREMACY... you didn't know she's black or when she became black???

https://kamala-harris-sociopath.blogspot.com/2020/10/will-corrupt-lawyer-kamala-harris.html

Kamala Harris tweeted out a link to a group raising bail money for Minnesota rioters. Biden campaign workers contributed themselves. Biden described Antifa as “an idea.” Try to imagine Churchill calling the brown shirts “an idea.”

Senate Democrats like Kamala Harris and Cory Booker worked to prevent the FBI from even having a Black Supremacist category before two terrorist attacks that murdered four people.

Duplicity aside, perhaps the only details of Harris’s speech more cringeworthy than her insincerity was her inability to tell the truth about virtually anything. DAVID KELTZ

Clyburn: If Biden Chooses Not to Run in 2024, VP Harris ‘First on My List’

0 seconds of 2 minutes, 42 secondsVolume 90%
1:49

Monday on CNN’s “New Day,” House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) reacted to a Wall Street Journal report that Democrats were expecting President Joe Biden to run again in 2024 but were not sure if he should.

Host John Berman asked Clyburn to expound on his remarks in the report that he supported Biden first and then Vice President Kamala Harris if not.

The South Carolina Democrat said there was “no question” Biden was “doing exactly what needs to be done” for the United States. He added that if the president didn’t run, the next on his list would be Harris.

“[Y]ou know, there’s no question in my mind that Joe Biden is doing exactly what needs to be done for this great country of ours,” Clyburn replied. “We all know that our democracy is teetering on edge. We need a Joe Biden to get us through this rough patch, and I think he’s doing great with that. We know that his forecast includes Vice President Harris. I support her. And I’m just saying that if he chooses not to run again, first on my list after him would be Kamala Harris.”

Clyburn was asked what should determine whether or not Biden runs in 2024.

“I think a lot depends upon what the issues are after the midterm elections, what kind of impact his policies will have on the outcome of that election, and I think that he will make a decision based upon that,” he explained. “And I think that Democratic voters will be doing that as well. And so, everybody knows that none of us are getting any younger. And we all tend to adjust our activities based upon what time it is at any given juncture. And he’ll do the same.”

Kamala Harris's verbal gaffe during a Juneteenth history lesson

It was an elementary assignment for Vice President Kamala Harris during yesterday’s Juneteenth holiday.

Her mission was to address elementary school children at the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington about the significance of the day. Following her address, she was to exchange pleasantries with the children as well as school and museum staff and pose for photos.

A high school student could accomplish this task effortlessly.

But this is the Biden administration where unchartered territories of colossal ineptitude are breached every day. Harris has been the flagbearer of this incompetence. Just when you thought she touched the abyss, she surprised everybody by going down deeper.

During her Juneteenth talk before the school children, Kamala Harris seemed uncomfortable from the very beginning. There were excessive hand gestures, there was hesitation, repetition, long pauses, ill-timed outbursts of laugher, and the occasional inappropriate colloquialism. Her eyes darted across the room listlessly as if she was desperately looking for approval.

This occurs when a speaker is unprepared and has no command of the subject.

A key excerpt from her speech is as follows:

I think that we all know today is a day to celebrate the principle of freedom. And think about it in terms of the context of history, knowing that black people in America were not free for 400 years of slavery.

Let this be a day that is a day to celebrate the principle of freedom, but to speak about it honestly and accurately, both in the context of history and current application

Any student of elementary history knows that the first African slaves in the American colonies arrived in 1619 in Virginia. They also know slavery was abolished in 1865 when the 13th Amendment was ratified.

1865 – 1619 = 246.

Yet Kamala Harris said it was 400 years of slavery.

Is she poor at math or poor at history or both?

The fact is it has been 157 years since slavery ended in America.

We can rule out the possibility that she purposefully overstated the duration of slavery to push any Democrat narrative. It requires adroitness in addition to malice to invent during an impromptu speech. Kamala struggles to even string a coherent sentence, hence purposeful fabrications seem far-fetched.

We, therefore, have to conclude that she really may be ignorant about the history of slavery in the country where she is the second-highest officer holder.

This is the most recent in a series of ignominious verbal mishaps.

Last month she was at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit when she talked about the importance of working together as a team.

Also last month, Harris committed a catastrophic verbal mess during a meeting with the Jamaican Prime Minister.

In March, at the Munich Security Conference, Harris seemed to be at loss for words as she attempted to explain the crisis in Ukraine.

Also in March, during a joint presser in Warsaw alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda, Harris erupted into laughter when asked about the US’s plans to accept Ukrainian refugees.

Back in January, during an interview on NBC News, when asked Harris about Biden’s failing strategy against Covid-19, Harris rambled incoherently.

Last October, Harris botched an appearance in a pre-recorded NASA video aimed at promoting science among young children.

Last June during a TV interview, Harris struggled to answer why she hasn’t visited the US-Mexico border despite being tasked to ‘resolve the border crisis’

What explains these frequent gaffes?

Harris obviously must have access to the best subject matter experts and speech coaches who would gladly help her prior to her public appearances. She is educated and has decades of experience in politics.

In addition to lacking in talent, Harris appears to be lacking in effort. She also appears apathetic toward her job, her legacy, and her country. This is a disastrous combination in any field, especially for high political office.

Why then did Biden’s handlers choose Kamala Harris as his running mate?

It was for the same reason that Obama chose Biden as his running mate.

Biden’s handlers didn’t want any threat to his Presidency from the Vice President. Somebody among Biden’s handlers knew of the astounding incompetence and inarticulateness of Kamala Harris long before it became common knowledge.

The fact that she is female and has pigment under her skin makes her the perfect ‘diversity’ hire that delights liberals. But beyond the superficial attributes, there is a total hollowness within.

Matters have deteriorated to such an extent that she commits elementary mistakes even while addressing elementary school children. Even Biden’s handlers who choose her for her inability must be surprised as to how fast she collapsed.

Biden's handlers have accomplished what they intended to, the inarticulate and ineffectual Kamala has made senile and bungling Biden unimpeachable.

This may be astute political skullduggery but a vile affront to the United States of America.

Kamala's Threat to American Democracy

Who, exactly, is a vice-president supposed to be?

Barry Nussbaum

The arrival of Joe Biden’s decision on a running mate is a true turning point in the history of American politics.

There has never before been a presidential candidate who, prior to entering the White House, has shown such undeniable signs of age-related neurological decay. All political disagreements disregarded, the sight of an elderly person succumbing to the demons of those dreaded cognitive ailments -- which all too often rob us of the older people we love -- is truly excruciating to behold.

The political outcome of Biden's mental state is, if possible, even more unsettling. The role of the president is meant to be powerful. All constitutional checks and balances considered, the sheer power of the chief executive, in that one single person invested with authority to counter-balance the power of the legislative and judicial branches, is truly awesome.

In our situation today, we see a man who is clearly not in full command of his mental faculties, who is allowing himself to be considered for that office of chief executive; an office which, unlike a prime minister in a parliamentary system, is intended to be stable and not prone to regular changes in leadership.

The expectation of a normal four-year presidential tenure on Biden’s part if he is elected must, at the very least, be subjected to serious doubt. If pronouncing basic words -- let alone quoting the most famous phrase of our Declaration of Independence -- is such a confusing  ordeal for him, then it is our urgent duty to question whether this individual is fit to be the man who must accept the ultimate responsibility for this country’s national security and well-being.

These facts squarely cast the Democrat side of the current election as not a presidential election at all, but a vice-presidential election.

Should Biden win, the chances are very probable that his vice president will become the 47th president to finish out his first four-year term. As the vice president automatically succeeds to the Oval Office if the president dies or is rendered permanently incapacitated, the profoundly anti-democratic repercussions of this situation is worsened by whom Biden has actually chosen.

The traditional custom for presidential hopefuls is to either choose the second-highest-polling candidate in a primary race, as Ronald Reagan did with George H. W. Bush in 1980, or to choose a highly capable politician who is well-respected by most of the party, as Donald Trump did with Governor Mike Pence in 2016. In both of those cases, the aforementioned running mates reflected the Republican Party and its voters quite respectably while promoting unity.

It is highly questionable, meanwhile, whether Kamala Harris -- aside from all of the establishment media’s expected giddy cheerleading -- really represents her party all that well. She was polling at 2% nationally by the time she ended her own presidential bid on December 3, 2019. Her more radical positions, such as support for the Obama administration’s Iran deal, prosecuting a journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s collection and sale of aborted babies’ body parts (while receiving campaign donations from them), and defending Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism, may indeed sit well with a great many leftists, but her actions as Attorney General of California may not. While in that position, Harris jailed hundreds on marijuana charges and authorized anti-prostitution sting operations which, according to SF Weekly, disproportionately targeted Latino men (a crucial Democrat demographic). In addition to this -- though she later admitted it was a mistake -- she prosecuted and jailed the parents of truant teens. She even refused to release the names of Catholic priests accused of sexually molesting children, abnegating law enforcement’s most basic and humane duty -- regardless of anyone’s opinion of the Catholic Church.

it is highly debatable if these are positions that a high number of progressives who voted for the Democrat primary runner-up, Bernie Sanders, would approve of. Especially today, being tough on minority and drug crime -- to the exclusion of “white patriarchal” clergy sex abuse -- is not en vogue among the Democratic Party’s truly energized base, which is largely college-educated millennials taught to have contempt for not only aggressive inner city policing, but inner city policing overall.

It also remains a question as to how many black American voters Kamala really represents. Without doubt, she completely failed to gain these voters' support during the primary. Many black Americans responded to Barack and Michelle Obama due to their image as people who empathized authentically with the black experience of living in inner city America. Harris’s flip-flopping on criminal justice issues has clearly deprived her of the Obama touch.

What should highly concern all Americans of whatever political persuasion is the fact that, given Joe Biden’s medical condition, a Democrat victory in 2020 could very likely result in a person for whom only 2% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents supported to become president.

The reasons for Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris as his running mate are as yet not entirely clear. What is very clear, however, is that a new president of the United States in the near future could be a person whom a weak and faltering man chose by fiat, and not someone whom the majority of the country elected by the ballot.

That's a problem.

It's a problem for America -- and it's a serious and profound problem for American democracy.
