Saudis Promote Biden’s Meeting With Crown as a Highlight of His Visit, While White House Downplays It

(CNSNews.com) – The Biden administration is downplaying President Biden’s scheduled interaction in Saudi Arabia with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – in stark contrast to the kingdom, which is characterizing the meeting as a high point of the president’s two-day visit next month.

The difference was evident Tuesday in a statement and comments by administration officials on one hand, and a statement from the royal court in Riyadh on the other.

The official White House announcement on the July 13-16 travel to Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Authority areas did not mention the heir to the Saudi throne, and referred in the context of the Jeddah leg of the trip only to King Salman and to other regional leaders (“the GCC+3”) invited for a summit.

When asked by a reporter about this omission, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre again played down the significance of any meeting between Biden and Mohammed bin Salman.

“The president is going to see over a dozen leaders on this trip, including King Salman and the leadership from our Saudi hosts for the GCC+3 summit,” she said, then added that “we can expect the president to see the crown prince as well.”

Similarly, when a senior administration official briefed reporters on background on the trip, the Mohammed bin Salman meeting was again minimized.

Using virtually the same language as Jean-Pierre, the official said in response to a question about the crown prince, “I would just say he’ll see over a dozen leaders on this trip, and so that includes King Salman and the leadership from our Saudi hosts for the GCC+3 summit. So, yes, we can expect the president to see the crown prince.”

In contrast to “we can expect the president to see the crown prince,” the statement from the royal court placed the Biden-Mohammed bin Salman engagement in a central position on the itinerary, while framing the meeting with the 86-year-old king as essentially a courtesy visit.

After “a meeting between King Salman and President Biden,” it said, Biden will “hold official talks” with the crown prince, focusing on “various areas of bilateral cooperation and joint efforts to address regional and global challenges.”

The royal court statement went on to say Biden and Mohammed bin Salman “will explore cooperation on emerging technologies, economic investment, space, renewable energy, cybersecurity, climate and environmental initiatives, food and energy security, and expanding trade and commercial ties to enable both countries to confront mutual challenges and seize the opportunities of the 21st century.”

‘Very little social redeeming value’

Biden’s trip to Jeddah and his scheduled meeting with the crown prince – who is already the kingdom’s de facto leader – comes at a time when he is under pressure to take action to bring down surging gasoline prices at home. Saudi Arabia is the world’s second largest oil producer.

But Mohammed bin Salman remains a deeply controversial character due to his alleged involvement in the killing of U.S.-based Saudi writer and regime critic Jamal Khashoggi, at the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul in 2018. A U.S. intelligence assessment released early last year concluded that the crown prince approved the operation that resulted in the murder.

Biden’s planned meeting with him comes less than three years after he declared on the campaign trail that he believed the crown prince ordered the killing, that he would sell the Saudis no more weapons but “make them in fact the pariah that they are,” and that there was “very little social redeeming value” to the kingdom’s government.

He also accused the Saudi government of “murdering children” and “murdering innocent people” – presumably in the context of the costly war in Yemen – and said that “they have to be held accountable.”

Administration officials have not answered directly when asked if Biden will raise the Khashoggi murder with the crown prince, instead replying to the effect that “human rights is always part of the conversation” in foreign engagements.

They have also reiterated that when it took office the administration sought to “recalibrate” but not “rupture” relations with a country that has been a strategic partner for almost 80 years.

“In this meeting, will the president confront the crown prince on the Khashoggi murder?” Judy Woodruff of PBS NewsHour asked Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday. “And if not, why not?”

“Well, I’m not going to get ahead of what’s going to happen in Saudi Arabia, but I can say this – and again, the president’s been very clear – human rights will remain at the heart of our agenda, along with the other interests and values that we’re trying to advance,” Blinken said.

“In my own conversations with Saudi counterparts and Saudi officials, I regularly raise human rights, including individual cases and more systemic challenges that continue to be posed in Saudi Arabia,” Blinken added. “I would expect the president to do the same.”

With Mohammed bin Salman – who is also defense minister – at the helm the Saudis in 2015 launched a military campaign against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, in support of Yemen’s internationally-recognized government. The conflict over time resulted in what the U.N. called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

A U.N.-mediated truce has been in place since April.

Yemen will be on the agenda when Biden visits Saudi Arabia, according to the White House announcement, which noted that the truce “has led to the most peaceful period there since war began seven years ago.”

The senior administration official briefing on background cited the truce in Yemen as “a clear example of where our engagement with the Saudis delivered results,” and added that the crown prince had “played a critical role in securing the extension of the truce” last week, for a further two months.

Dem Rep. Connolly: It’s Inconsistent for Biden to ‘Stand Down’ to Work with Saudis to Help Gas Prices, Keep Restrictions on U.S. Oil

2:22

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) argued that President Joe Biden has decided to “stand down” on his position on holding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accountable for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi and part of the reason for this change is the U.S. needing Saudi Arabia to boost oil production to bring down gas prices. Connolly added that if Biden is going to be consistent, he should be willing to also pull back restrictions on refining and drilling for oil in America.

Connolly stated, “I believe President Biden was right when he was candidate Biden about this relationship and holding to account the individual who was complicit in and ordered the brutal murder and dismemberment of my constituent, Jamal Khashoggi, and that is the Crown Prince.”

Connolly added, “I believe that he’s had counsel from some in the State Department, some on the National Security Council that the need to bring MBS, the Crown Prince, to account, to justice for his involvement in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi has to be weighed against other concerns. We’re experiencing a huge inflationary spiral in the price of oil. We need Saudi Arabia to produce more of it if we’re going to bring down the cost of gasoline here in the United States. The Saudis have been reluctant to support sanctions against Russia in the Ukrainian war, and we need their help there. So, I think that he’s getting advice that if you want their cooperation they’ve made it very clear you’ve got to stand down on your original position.”

Host Erin Burnett then added, “I will say for, just a point of consistency, if he thinks it’s worth it to bring down oil prices to — or gas prices to do business with Saudi Arabia, wouldn’t it be consistent, then, to be open to pulling back some of the restrictions on refining in the U.S. or drilling in the U.S. as well?”

Connolly responded, “Presumably. But I think we have to all ask ourselves, all of that’s interesting and fine and important, but at what price? I mean, a man was murdered by the number two official in a foreign government. That can’t be acceptable in terms of U.S. interests or U.S. foreign policy and it ought not to be acceptable to the president of the United States.”

Howard Stern Blasts Phil Mickelson, Others for ‘Selling Out’ to ‘Piece of Sh*t’ Saudis

Radio shock jock Howard Stern tore into golfer Phil Mickelson and others for their participation in the Saudi-backed LIV Tour.

Mickelson reportedly joined the LIV Tour for $200 million, resulting in his suspension from PGA Tour for his participation. Howard Stern asserted that Mickelson and other golfers were sellouts.

“They’re selling out,” Stern said on his SiriusXM show.

Stern further called the Saudi government “real pieces of shit” for essentially using their vast wealth to establish themselves on the world stage.

“They’re real pieces of shit and they got a lot of money so it allows them to be pieces of st on a big level,” Stern said. “Normally, if they didn’t have oil there, you wouldn’t hear from these guys, you’d never know what they believe, they’d be talking to a sheep and a camel.”

“But they, unfortunately, have so much money that they can spread their diseased brain power all over the world and now they wanna start a golf tournament, not a tournament, a league,” he added.

The top golfers participating in LIV have often deflected when questioned about their stance regarding Saudi Arabia’s human rights violations. “I don’t condone human rights violations. I don’t know how I can be any more clear,” Mickelson said when asked, for instance.

Howard Stern said that golfers like Mickelson are willing to “put up with it for $200 million.”

Though top golfer Dustin Johnson initially said he would not participate in the event, his agent said he ultimately felt it was “in his and his family’s best interest.”

“Dustin has been contemplating this opportunity off-and-on for the past couple of years. Ultimately, he decided it was in his and his family’s best interest to pursue it,” said Johnson’s agent. “Dustin has never had any issue with the PGA Tour and is grateful for all it has given him, but in the end felt this was too compelling to pass up.”

When asked about the event during the PGA Championship, Johnson said, “I think golf is in a good spot, and I think what they’re doing … could potentially be good for the game of golf. I’m excited to see what happens here in a few weeks.”

Mickelson also addressed an open letter drafted by the “9/11 Families United’’ asking for the golfers not to participate in the event since 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

“I would say to everyone that has lost loved ones, lost friends on 9/11 that I have deep, deep empathy for them,” Mickelson said. “I can’t emphasize that enough.”

LIV founder Greg Norman sparked controversy last month when he addressed his Saudi Arabia ties by saying the government-sanctioned killing of Jamal Khashoggi was a mere mistake, no different than the many past mistakes committed by the United States.

Biden Going to Saudi Arabia, Looking for Help With Oil Production, But WH Downplays That Angle

(CNSNews.com) - "Well, let me just say this," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday, after taking multiple questions on whether President Biden is or is not planning a trip to Saudi Arabia: "When the president is ready to make that announcement, that’s when we will," she said.

On Tuesday morning, the White House was suddenly ready: "President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will visit the Middle East region from July 13-16 to reinforce the United States’ iron-clad commitment to Israel’s security and prosperity and attend a Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council plus Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan (known as the GCC+3)," the announcement said.

"He will also meet with counterparts from across the region, to advance U.S. security, economic, and diplomatic interests." Those counterparts include Israel, Biden's first stop; then he'll go to the West Bank to "consult with the Palestinian Authority"; then to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which is chairing the GCC, a gathering of nine leaders from the region.

"While in Saudi Arabia, the President will discuss a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues," the announcement said.

"These include support to the UN-mediated truce in Yemen, which has led to the most peaceful period there since war began seven years ago. He will also discuss means for expanding regional economic and security cooperation, including new and promising infrastructure and climate initiatives, as well as deterring threats from Iran, advancing human rights, and ensuring global energy and food security.

"The President looks forward to outlining his affirmative vision for U.S. engagement in the region over the coming months and years."

'Mixed feelings'

The pushback came quickly, given U.S. concerns about Saudi Arabia's human rights record and the regime's murder -- reportedly on orders of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman -- of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist killed, dismembered and disposed of after entering the Saudi consulate in Turkey in 2018.

Appearing on CNN's "New Day," Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said he respects President Biden, and "I know he has a tough job dealing with gasoline prices, trying to find ways to find new sources and supplies to bring down inflation in the energy sector, and Saudi Arabia is a major player, full stop.

"Next point I want to make is that the Saudi Arabia record, particularly when it comes to Khashoggi, is an outrage. It is the type of thing that clearly it was a designed murder, in an effort to dispose of the corpse in a way that it could never be discovered," Durbin said.

"We now know what happened at least to a large extent, and to say that's the ordinary course of business for a government is outrageous. So I have mixed feelings on this, and if the president called me, I'd say, Mr. President, you can't trust these people. Their standards are not our standards, their values are not ours."

"You would tell them not to go?" host John Berman asked:

"I would give them that counsel," Durbin said. "But I understand why he's trying to balance this. America is hopeful he's successful in getting more oil into the pipelines, so we could reduce the price of gasoline and energy."

'National interest' at stake

Next up on "New Day" was John Kirby, the former Defense Department spokesman who now works for Biden's National Security Council:

"He's going over there as part of the GCC+3 to talk about counterterrorism, Iran's destabilizing behavior, certainly energy production as well as trying to end this war in Yemen," Kirby said. "He'll talk with nine heads of state, there'll be lots of bilateral discussions and yes, that will certainly include King Salman and his leadership team, and we would expect that the crown prince will be part of those discussions. We're not shying away from that."

Host Brianna Keilar noted that Biden, while campaigning for president in 2019, said that Khashoggi "was in fact murdered and dismembered, and I believe on the order of the crown prince. And I would make it very clear we were not going to in fact sell more weapons to them. We were going to in fact make them pay the price and make them in fact the pariah that they are. There's very little social redeeming value of the -- in the present government in Saudi Arabia."

So how does Biden "justify this visit?" Keilar asked Kirby:

"Look, Brianna, when the president became president, he made public the intelligence community's report about the Khashoggi killing. He put in place a series of accountability measures. And he said that we needed to recalibrate, reorient our relationship with Saudi Arabia, and we've worked on that. The other thing we need to remember is that Saudi Arabia is a key partner in the region, on things like counterterrorism, on the war in Yemen, on energy production.

"There is a lot of national interest here at stake in this trip, and it's not just about Saudi Arabia, it is not just even about the Gulf Region. It is, as you said in the opening, about Israel and the West Bank and meeting with the Palestinian Authority leaders. I mean, there is a lot of lift here that the president wants to do on behalf of the American people when it comes to our national security."

"Would he be holding official talks with MBS if gas was not at $5 a gallon?" Keilar asked:

"The president will, and he's said this before, he will meet with leaders across the world if it is in the best interest of the American people, if it is in our national security interest, and he believes this trip in its entirety, all the discussions he's going to be having over the course of the three days, fits that bill.

Kirby added that Biden "respects there's different views about this trip. He understands that. But he also understands his responsibilities to the American people. On a range of national security issues, and we've  already talked about several of them. That's what this trip is all about."

Kirby also said the president "of course will be talking about a range of human rights issues, too. We always talk about human rights when we go and we visit counterparts around the world.

"It's a key component of the president's foreign policy -- you can't have an effective foreign policy without it being rooted in values, and the president will obviously represent those values to all counterparts in all meetings."

‘Invisible Jihad’: Report Says Iranian Regime and Its Proxies Driving Exodus of Christians

(CNSNews.com) – The clerical regime in Iran is pursuing a deliberate strategy of coercion against Christians within its sphere of influence across the Middle East, designed to drive them out, according to a new report.

This “invisible jihad,” orchestrated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and regime proxies, is having a severe impact on embattled Christian communities in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, it says.

Released by the Philos Project, an organization dedicated to protecting Christians in the Near East, the report examines the plight of Christian communities in four countries that are largely under Tehran’s sway, where they face a campaign of “demographic reduction through coerced emigration.”

“Iran’s systematic program of invisible jihad has never been recognized, let alone challenged,” Farhad Rezaei, Philos Project senior research fellow and the report’s author, writes in the conclusion, urging action by the U.S. government, United Nations, and others.

The report traces the religious foundations of the anti-Christian drive to the emergence of “Khomenism” in post-Islamic revolution Iran.

In a departure from historical Shia theology, Rezaei writes, “Khomenism called upon the faithful to cleanse Islam and Iran of Judeo-Christian impurity.”

He says the arch-conservative cleric who developed Khomenism, Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi, “understood that the regime could not murder Christians en masse, thus opting for the alternative policy of eliminationism through coercive immigration.”

And it was the IRGC and its foreign operations wing, Qods Force, that helped to institutionalize the policy.

(Mesbah-Yazdi headed Iran’s judiciary from 1989 to 1999 and served on two of the Islamic republic’s top legal-religious institutions, the Council of Guardians and Assembly of Experts. He died in 2021.)

The Philos Project report attributes the shrinkage of Christian communities in the four countries to a deliberate IRGC-led campaign to goad Christians to leave, while acknowledging that other factors have also played a role.

In Lebanon, a Christian population of some 54 percent in the 1950s declined to below 34 percent by 2020.

Rezaei says Hezbollah, the Iranian-created proxy militia, helped to spur Christian emigration by imposing strict dress codes, alcohol prohibitions, and a ban on sexes mixing in public in mixed Christian-Muslim areas under its control; undertaking campaigns to impede conversion; coordinating evictions and expulsions of Christians from property in rural and urban areas; and using its positions in the Lebanese government to benefit Shi’a at the expense of Christians (and Sunnis).

In Iraq, one of the faith’s most ancient communities has dwindled today to around 141,000, from 1.5 million Christians recorded in a 1987 census.

After the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 and over the next 15 years, Iraq Christians suffered greatly at the hands of the Sunni jihadists of al-Qaeda in Iraq and ISIS, and of the Iranian-backed Shi’a militias.

The report concedes that is difficult to apportion blame between those violent groups, but says that since 2017, the Shi’a militias have been “indisputably at the forefront of

Iranian-prescribed jihad against Christians.”

It says Iranian proxies have played a “pivotal” role in preventing Christians from returning to their historical heartland – the Nineveh plains near the Kurdish autonomous region – with reports of evictions, expulsions, confiscations, and forced buyouts.

Other difficulties faced by Iraqi Christians at the hands of Iranian proxies outlined in the report include anti-Christian discrimination in employment and service provision, the burning of crops, vandalism of church properties, and enforced Islamic dress and behavior codes.

When the civil war in Syria began in 2011, Christians accounted for about 10.5 percent of the country’s population. Ten years later it had shrunk by 70 percent.

Although multiple players have been involved in the conflict, the report says that “a careful examination of witness reports indicates that Assad forces and pro-Iranian militias have

killed and kidnapped Christians despite the propaganda portraying the community as allies.”

It attributes the deaths of 118 Syrian Christians, more than 550 arrests, incidents of torture, and 75 acts of violence targeting churches and church property to the Assad regime and its Iranian militia allies.

“Bombing these churches had no tactical value; it was a deliberate policy to scare the Christians into fleeing,” the report states. It cites a 2019 report by the independent Syrian Network for Human Rights that held the regime responsible for 61 percent of attacks against Christian places of worship between 2011-2019.

In Yemen, the report says the Iranian proxy Houthi militia has carried out a campaign of killing and kidnapping Christians, and vandalism and looting of church property, aimed at intimidating the community.

Christians are harassed and denied medical services, Bibles are prohibited and Bible-burning is encouraged, and Houthi-controlled school curriculums and media instill hatred for Christians and other religious minorities. The report says that of a community of numerous denominations once numbering some 40,000, there are now only about “3,000 Christian holdovers.”

The report says action is “urgently needed to stop the emigration trend and encourage, whenever possible, the return of respective Christian populations.”

It calls on the State Department to sanction Iran and its proxies, including specific IRGC commanders for forcing Christian immigration or blocking their return, and says the U.N. should mandate a “special rapporteur” to investigate efforts by Iran to drive Christians from the region.

Christian charities and international bodies should provide financial help to Christian communities struggling to rebuild, the report says.

Muslim Butchers Christian with a Meat Cleaver

Another day, and another slaughter of a Christian in Egypt.

Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.  This article was first published by Coptic Solidarity.

Another day has passed, and another Muslim man has murdered another Coptic Christian in Egypt.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022—the same day Muslims attacked a packed church in Nigeria, massacring more than 50 Christians—Abdullah Hosni, a Muslim man with a long history of harassing Christians, randomly attacked a Copt, Kirollos (Cyril) Megali, with a meat cleaver in a village in Sohag, Upper Egypt.

Kirollos, who was rushed to a hospital “drenched in blood and with multiple stab wounds,” spent three days in an intensive care unit before succumbing to his injuries, including hack wounds to his skull.

According to the deceased’s brother, Abdullah was locally known for harassing Christians. He had relocated to Libya for a time but returned two days before assaulting Kirollos.  The latter himself had been working abroad (in Kuwait) and was visiting family when Abdullah knocked him off his motorbike and started hacking at him.

At first, and as usual, there was talk of trying the murderer as “mentally ill,” including through the use of an apparently forged “medical report” submitted to prosecution by the murderer’s family; but outraged Copts protested (virtually every time a Muslim kills a Christian in Egypt, media and authorities rush to claim the murderer is “mentally ill,” thereby sidestepping punishment to the fullest extent of the law).

Moreover, according to the report, “A state of anger prevailed among the village’s Copts, because the perpetrator, Abdullah Hosni, had previously assaulted and always harassed Copts, but no action was ever taken against him.”

In the midst of chanting Kyrie Eleison (the ancient Greek mantra, “Lord have mercy”), mourning Copts attending Kirollos’ funeral were also heard to cry “With our souls, with our blood, we will redeem you, O Cross.  The rights of Kirollos must be returned—and where is the media?”

This latest murder of a Coptic Christian at the hands of a Muslim in Egypt follows the recent murder of another young Copt by a Muslim man—who later said he was moved to the act due to his “loyalty to Allah”—and the murder of Fr. Arsenius Wadid, who was stabbed to death in broad daylight by another knife wielding Muslim man.

Meanwhile, the UN, the EU, and other large governmental bodies that claim to be zealous over protecting the human rights and religious freedoms of all people continue demonstrating that the only things they are committed to is presenting Muslims as victims and ignoring the worldwide persecution of Christians.

ISIS Plotter in Hipster Brooklyn Proves Yet Again That Immigration Is a National Security Issue

Why, exactly, is the Biden administration bringing jihad terrorists into the country?

Dilkhayot Kasimov lived in Brooklyn, one of the nation’s leading hotspots for trendy young hipsters, but he had much more on his mind than checking out the street art scene in Bushwick or the Fort Greene Flea Market. Kasimov, 34, who was sentenced Friday to fifteen years in prison for aiding the Islamic State (ISIS), was involved in plots to strike within the United States, including possibly even killing Barack Obama. Dilkhayot Kasimov is a citizen of Uzbekistan, and so his case once again raises the question that Biden’s handlers steadfastly ignore: why is the U.S. bringing jihad terrorists into the country?

According to U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue, Kasimov “was part of a conspiracy in which he willingly and eagerly sought to help fund a foreign fighter’s travel and expenses in Syria to wage violent jihad.” When Kasimov was sentenced Friday, Matthew Olsen, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, said: “Kasimov is an ISIS supporter who collected and gave money to another individual to fund his travel to join the terrorist group.” Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, explained: “Kasimov was part of a group of individuals who sought to travel to Syria to join ISIS or to fund others who sought to become foreign fighters for ISIS.” But Kasimov wasn’t interested only in Syria.

When Kasimov was convicted in September 2019, UPI reported that he “was named in an indictment that charged three other men in a plot to assist the Islamic State.” Kasimov’s accomplices, “Akhror Saidakhmetov, Abdurasul Hasanovich Juraboev and Abror Habibov planned to travel to Turkey and then to Syria to assist the IS.” They also had a Plan B: “If their plan was not successful, they allegedly planned terrorist attacks on the United States. The men were each charged with conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, conspiracy and travel document fraud.” They “came to the attention of law enforcement in August 2014 after they allegedly posted on a Uzbek-language, pro-IS website saying they would kill former President Barack Obama if ordered by the IS. The plans included placing bombs on Coney Island.”

There doesn’t seem to be any published information about the circumstances under which Kasimov was admitted to the country. Nonetheless, his case provides yet more evidence that immigration is a national security issue, and that not only “racists” and “Islamophobes” think otherwise.

There is no word about Kasimov being deported after he completes his prison sentence (or however much of it he ends up having to serve; he isn’t, after all, an “insurrectionist” or a “white supremacist,” so he is unlikely to serve the entire sentence). However, another one of Kasimov’s accomplices, Chicago’s Dilshod Khusanov, 36, according to the DOJ, will be deported after he serves a prison term. And Kisanov and Khusanov aren’t even close to being the only foreign nationals who have become security risks inside the United States. Others include a Somali Muslim migrant who stabbed multiple patrons at a restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian; Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant who set off bombs in New York City and New Jersey; Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant who murdered five people in a mall in Burlington, Wash.; Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, who stabbed mall shoppers in St. Cloud, Minn. while screaming “Allahu akbar”; and Abdul Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, who injured nine people with car and knife attacks at Ohio State University.

Meanwhile, Fox News reported Monday that “A Haitian migrant taking part in what could be the largest ever migrant caravan through Mexico to the U.S. is demanding that President Biden keep his promise to allow them to stay once they reach the border.” The migrant said of Old Joe: “He promised the Haitian community he will help them. He will recall Title 42. He will help us have real asylum.” Fox notes that “the migrant is taking part in a caravan that could become the largest ever to reach the U.S. southern border, with the current number of close to 10,000 migrants, is expected to swell to about 15,000 before it reaches the border.” What could possibly go wrong? Well, could more jihad terrorists such as Dilkhayot Kasimov take advantage of the chaos at the border to enter the United States and begin to plot massacres here? Come on, man! Celebrate diversity!

FUK THE SAUDIS AND ALL THEIR BOUGHT MONEY WHORES!

Joining up with the Saudis (and taking their money) might require jumping through some moral hoops, but Mickelson, ironically, is the only golfer to talk so openly about the Saudi government’s shady history of human-rights abuses. LPGA golfers have played Saudi events and received decidedly less criticism for it. Golf is not the only target here, either. The Saudi Cup has become horse racing’s most lucrative event, and, perhaps not surprisingly, the famously amoral WWE has been working with the Saudi government for years and held its “Crown Jewel” event in the country just days after Khashoggi’s murder. But the Saudi government’s sportswashing experiment has found its biggest success in golf, where it could flash around its insane money to the exact players most amenable to taking it.

Muslims across India on Friday continued protests sparked by comments from a now-suspended spokeswoman for the ruling Hindu-nationalist BJP party that were denounced as insulting to Islam’s Muhammad.

The Times of India (TOI) reported that “vehicles were torched and vandalized, and sporadic incidents of sloganeering and stone-pelting” were reported from several locations.

TOI said a few police officers were injured “while controlling an angry mob near Hanuman Temple in Ranchi,” while former BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma was hanged in effigy near a vegetable market in Belagavi.

According to the Hindustan Timesas of noon on Friday, 11 police officers and 12 protesters had been injured in Ranchi. Six more people were injured in Jharkhand, one of them with a bullet injury. Over 100 arrests were reported in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP members were angered by the mock hanging, denouncing it as a threat of violence against Sharma and demanding the police take it down.

Police described several other protests involving hundreds of Muslims as largely peaceful, including a large demonstration outside the Jama Masjid Islamic school in Delhi. Most of the Jama Masjid demonstrators dispersed after 15 minutes or so, but police said some lingered for hours afterward, waving placards that expressed their anger at Sharma and their devotion to Muhammad.

The situation was more tense in the disputed Jammu-Kashmir region, where police imposed a curfew, blocked the Internet, and shut some areas down to keep protests from getting out of hand.

BJP suspended Sharma and expelled a media director after the May 27 television appearance in which Sharma, in the midst of a heated discussion over a delicate situation involving the discovery of a Hindu sculpture on the grounds of a Muslim mosque, made a disparaging mention of Muhammad’s child bride Aisha.

“You are marrying a six-year-old girl and having sex with her when she turned nine. Who did it? Prophet Muhammad,” Sharma snapped.

Some of the Muslims protesting on Friday demanded Sharma be prosecuted for blasphemy. She was booked in New Delhi on Thursday for “inciting people on divisive lines.” Sharma has requested police protection after claiming she received death threats.

Demonstrations were also held in Pakistan and Bangladesh on Friday. Slogans heard at a thousands-strong protest in Bangladesh included “Boycott all Indian products” and “Hang those who insult our prophet.”

Some Bangladeshi Muslims are annoyed that their government values its relationship with India too highly to lodge a formal protest. In Pakistan, protesters burned Indian flags and called on all Muslim nations to break off diplomatic relations with India.

On Wednesday, a letter purportedly written by international terrorist organization al-Qaeda threatened to conduct suicide bombings against Indian targets to “defend the honor” of Muhammad. The Indian government said it was investigating the letter and has ordered police to break up any public gatherings that might be targeted by al-Qaeda bombers.

PGA Suspends 17 Golfers Playing in Saudi-Backed LIV League

The PGA Tour has suspended all 17 pro golfers who signed on to play in the new Saudi Arabia-backed LIV golf league, according to the letter released on Thursday.

The PGA Tour maintains that all 17 players who announced participation in the new league being promoted by golf great Greg Norman will be ineligible to play in any PGA tournament or the President’s Cup.

“These players have made their choice for their own financial-based reasons,” the PGA Tour states in its notice of suspension dated June 9.

“But they can’t demand the same PGA TOUR membership benefits, considerations, opportunities and platform as you. That expectation disrespects you, our fans and our partners,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan continued in the letter. “You have made a different choice, which is to abide by the Tournament Regulations you agreed to when you accomplished the dream of earning a PGA TOUR card and — more importantly — to compete as part of the preeminent organization in the world of professional golf.”

The letter also notes that any future golfer who jumps to the LIV league will face a similar suspension from the PGA.

Monahan also accused the fleeing pros of fatiguing fans with “all this talk of money, money and more money.”

“You are the PGA TOUR, and this moment is about what we stand for: the PGA TOUR membership as a whole, Monahan added. “It’s about lifting up those who choose to not only benefit from the TOUR, but who also play an integral role in building it. I know you are with us, and vice versa. Our partners are with us, too. The fact that your former TOUR colleagues can’t say the same should be telling.”

In a statement, LIV Golf called the PGA Tour’s actions “vindictive” and said it “deepens the divide between the Tour and its members,” ESPN reported.”

“It’s troubling that the Tour, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for golfers to play the game, is the entity blocking golfers from playing,” LIV Golf added. “This certainly is not the last word on this topic. The era of free agency is beginning as we are proud to have a full field of players joining us in London, and beyond.”

Notably, the PGA Tour recently canceled former President Trump’s annual tournament at Trump Doral, as well as the PGA Championship event that was to be held at Trump Bedminster. Also, while bemoaning their players’ involvement in a league backed by Saudi Arabia, a nation with a terrible human rights record, the PGA maintains a business partnership with communist China.

A country equally plagued by human rights violations.

LIV Golf is funded by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which is controlled by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

On Wednesday, Phil Mickelson faced stern questions from members of the liberal sports media accusing him of not caring about human rights for involving himself with the Saudis, especially in light of the 2018 death and disappearance of left-wing activist and sometimes Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Reporters accused Mickelson of “sportswashing” Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, the New York Post reported.

But the hypocrisy is thick with these “journalists” since not one of them has ever questioned the PGA Tour for its multi-million-dollar tour in China, one of the worst human rights abusers in the world.

China has one of the worst human rights abuse records in the world. From its brutal suppression of the democracy movements in its territories of Tibet and Hong Kong to its oppression of Christians and members of the Falun Gong, to its enslavement and genocide perpetrated against its minority Muslim Uyghur population, China has faced more scrutiny than ever for its record of massive human rights abuses even as the PGA Tour and the sports media ignore it all.

Ultimately, the PGA Tour suspended seven players, including Talor Gooch, Matt Jones, Phil Mickelson, Andy Ogletree, Ian Poulter, Hudson Swafford, and Peter Uihlein.

Ten others were suspended after they had informed the PGA Tour that they had officially resigned their memberships, including, Sergio Garcia, Branden Grace, Dustin Johnson, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell, Kevin Na, Louis Oosthuizen, Turk Pettit, Charl Schwartzel, and Lee Westwood.

Al-Qaeda Threatens India with Child Suicide Bombers for ‘Blasphemy’ (Mentioning Muhammad’s 9-y/o Wife)

In a statement published Tuesday, the al-Qaeda terrorist organization threatened to unleash a string of child suicide bombings across India in response to an ongoing controversy surrounding remarks about Muhammad made by a now-former spokeswoman for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During a cable news debate last week, former spokeswoman Nupur Sharma – discussing widespread mockery by Muslims of Hindu gods following the debated discovery of a sacred Hindu relic in a mosque – suggested that Hindus should mock the Islamic hadith, or holy writing, stating that Muhammad married a girl named Aisha when she was six years old. Sharma also mentioned several other Quranic statements she considered potential fodder for jokes.

“Should I start mocking claims of flying horses or the flat-earth theory as mentioned in your Quran? You are marrying a 6-year-old girl and having sex with her when she turned 9. Who did it? Prophet Muhammad,” Sharma reportedly said on the cable news network Times Now. “Should I start saying all these things that are mentioned in your scriptures?”

The Aisha hadith has been the subject of centuries of controversy, as the scripture indicates Muhammad was in his 50s when the marriage occurred. As the hadith are not part of the Quran, their validity often prompts debate. Some Muslim scholars suggest other evidence outside of that particular hadith indicates that Aisha was at least an adolescent at the time of marriage.

Sharma’s comments resulted in her suspension from the BJP for six years and riots featuring thousands of people across the country demanding her arrest for “blasphemy.” Insulting religions generally is a crime in the Indian penal code.

In addition to the riots, Sharma’s comments have become a diplomatic crisis for India as much of the Muslim world responded by demanding further condemnation of the remarks. Multiple foreign ministries – including those of neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan (run by the Taliban) – and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have vocally condemned India’s government and demanded more punishment for the alleged blasphemy.

Sharma herself has received many death threats, prompting the government to offer her and her family special police detail.

Al-Qaeda joined the chorus of outrage on Tuesday by vowing that its terrorists would “fight for the dignity of our prophet.”

“Saffron terrorists should now await their end in Delhi and Bombay [Mumbai] and in UP [Uttar Pradesh] and Gujarat,”  the al-Qaeda statement, published through its online communications networks, read in part, according to India’s NDTV. “Saffron terrorists” is a reference to Hindus, later referred to as “Hindutva terrorists occupying India;” the listed locations are regions of India.

“They shall find refuge neither in their homes nor in their fortified army cantonments. May our mothers be bereaved of us if we do not avenge our beloved Prophet,” the statement continued. “We shall kill those who affront our Prophet and we shall bind explosives with our bodies and the bodies of our children to blow away the ranks of those who dare to dishonor our Prophet.”

“We shall fight for the dignity of our Prophet, we shall urge others to fight and die for the honour of our Prophet,” the statement reportedly concluded.

The Indian outlet the Print further translated part of the statement claiming that “an apocalyptic war on India that will precede the Yawm al-Qiyamah, or God’s final day of judgment” would soon arrive.

“We bring tidings of death and destruction to the rulers of India, of executions and hangings, of imprisonment and being bound with chains,” the statement added, according to the Print.

The Times of India reported that al-Qaeda terrorists also published a video to their Telegram channel “exhorting followers of the terrorist group to vow revenge.” The Hindustan Times claimed that al-Qaeda also threatened to bomb Bangladesh for an unrelated reason: the conviction of several Muslims for killing two people accused of “blasphemy.”

Speaking to the Print, an anonymous “senior intelligence official” described the new threats as an escalation, as al-Qaeda had largely focused their attacks on other countries.

“Although India was significant to various local and Pakistani jihadist groups, it never really attracted the attention of the transnational groups like al-Qaeda or the Islamic State,” the officials was quoted as saying. “The danger is that events in India are drawing a great amount of unwelcome attention from the jihadist community.”

The Hindustan Times blamed Pakistan for the al-Qaeda message, citing unspecific “intelligence inputs.”

“The two statements are also indicative of the fact that there is a rise of Al Qaeda in Af-Pak [Afghanistan-Pakistan] region after the Taliban virtually chased out the American troops on August 15, 2021,” the Indian newspaper claimed (in reality, President Joe Biden withdrew the American troops after extending the war past March; the withdrawal announcement for September prompted the Taliban’s arrival in Kabul).

“Intelligence inputs indicate that Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri is based in Afghanistan through [sic] the ruling Taliban denies it and has conveyed to India that the global terrorist has taken shelter in neighbouring Iran,” the Times continued. “According to national security planners, the AQIS statements against both India and Bangladesh seem to have been orchestrated by the Pakistani deep state with the sole objective of making New Delhi and Dhaka targets of Islamists on charges of blasphemy.”

The Hindustan Times did not offer on-the-record evidence for its accusation against Pakistan.

The Taliban terrorists were among the many Muslim governments condemning India in the aftermath of Sharma’s comments.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns the use of derogatory words against the Prophet of Islam (Peace be upon him) by an official of the ruling party in India,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote in a statement on Twitter on Monday, referring to the Taliban by its preferred name for itself. “We urge the Indian government not to allow such fanatics to insult the holy religion of Islam and provoke the feelings of Muslims.”

Following the OIC condemnation this week, the Indian government issued a statement criticizing Muslim countries’ “unwarranted and narrow-minded comments” against India.

“The offensive tweets and comments denigrating a religious personality were made by certain individuals. They do not, in any manner, reflect the views of the Government of India,” a spokesman for the Indian External Affairs Ministry said. “Strong action has already been taken against these individuals by relevant bodies.”

CAIR Sex Offender Gives Keynote Speech at Pakistani Annual Boys Party

Ahmad Saleem presented award, allowed into room full of kids.

Usually, when people commit unforgivable crimes dealing with children, the perpetrators of such crimes become ‘persona non grata.’ No one wants to know or be associated with them. That is what appeared to take place with ex-CAIR official Ahmad Saleem – who was arrested for soliciting sex from someone whom he believed to be a twelve-year-old girl – until this author discovered that Saleem had been the keynote speaker at what was billed as a ‘Welcome Party’ for boys, at an educational facility in northeast Pakistan. Was hosting this an honest mistake made by the school’s administrators or did they intentionally ignore his dastardly background?

When it comes to American Islamists, Ahmad Abrar Saleem was a rising star. Indeed, he once referred to himself as such on Facebook. He was President of his university’s Muslim Students Association (MSA) and served in a national MSA position; he was a participant at numerous Islamist conferences and events around the US; in Muslim circles, he was given the honor of being called “Ustad” or Islamic scholar; and finally, he was a leader in the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). All of this vanished, however, when Saleem had become the subject of a police sting operation in central Florida, taking place near his home.

On the night of May 20, 2015, Saleem reportedly was intending to meet and have intercourse with the twelve-year-old girl he had been chatting with online, but instead, he met Sheriff’s deputies waiting to arrest him and 21 others. He was charged with “use of computer to seduce/solicit/entice a child to commit sex act” and “travel to seduce, solicit, lure a child to commit sex act.” In December 2016, Saleem was sentenced to two years in a state prison. Numerous mugshots of his time in custody could be viewed online.

CAIR-Florida went from previously praising Saleem on its website to then-CAIR-Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly referring to Saleem as “wicked.” An article published in The Express Tribune, a Pakistani publication, labeled Saleem a “paedophile” and said he had “tarnished the image of Islam in the US.”

In November 2018, following the completion of his prison sentence, Saleem flew to Pakistan, himself, where both his parents are from. He would relocate to Pakistan. In December 2018, he would change his name on social media to “Ahmad Shaheen.”

Facing Abuse in Community Environments (FACE), an advocacy organization for abused Muslim women, has recently taken notice of Saleem’s activities and published a detailed profile of him on its website, including a slide show. This has not been the only past CAIR official FACE has targeted. In January 2021, the group launched a “formal investigation” of Hassan Shibly, who had just resigned from CAIR after having been accused by his then-wife of committing physical violence against her in front of their children. Ironically, the founder and Executive Director of FACE, Alia Salem, is the former head of CAIR-Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW).

One of the issues discussed in the FACE profile of Saleem was the fact that Saleem actively posts videos on YouTube. The title of Saleem’s YouTube page has gone from ‘Saleem Academy,’ which is the name of Saleem’s former personal organization, to ‘Shaheen Leaders’ to, now, ‘Baraka Corner.’

One of the videos that Saleem posted on his page was of a speech he had given in October 2019. It was a keynote address at a ‘Welcome Party’ for the Boys Wing of the Askaria Education System’s Askaria Schools & Colleges, located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The video introduced him as yet another alias, “Ahmed Minhas.”

Saleem began his speech by mentioning his experience in giving such talks. He stated, “I’ve done many different ceremonies in the US – graduation events, welcoming addresses, university addresses. This is my first big event for students in Pakistan, Mashallah.” The line brought applause from the crowd, which included hundreds of students as well as parents, teachers and administrators. The Chairman of the Askaria Education System, Muhammad Waheed Chaudhary, sat in the front row.

Within his speech, Saleem mentioned how, when he was in high school, while traveling to pick up his sister in his Honda Civic, he had gotten into a serious car accident though was able to escape without injury. He said, following the incident, he would repeatedly think to himself, “How do I make an impact? How do I have a legacy? How do I do something that’s important?” Unfortunately for Saleem, his legacy was solidified, in May 2015, when he drove a different vehicle – a van – to see a different young girl, to allegedly do unspeakable acts to her.

After Saleem spoke, he was presented with a bouquet of flowers and an award.

It is beyond reprehensible that, Saleem, in view of his scandalous background, would be allowed to give the keynote address at such a considerable function, let alone one for children. Given the culture of child marriage in Pakistan, though, it might be that Saleem’s behavior is deemed socially acceptable. It must also be noted that male Askaria students put on skits dressed as women, which makes one wonder if Saleem’s vile proclivities would be considered a stigma at all. Regardless, if the administration was aware of Saleem’s sordid history, the students’ parents should demand that Chairman Choudhary and the administration resign.

Saleem is a convicted child abuser, and although he served his time and his prison sentence is now part of the past, that does not mean that he should be put in a position to occupy the same space as children. Nor does it mean he should be granted any type of award or honor. Indeed, never under any circumstance should children be permitted near Ahmad Saleem, a documented child sex predator, and he should be shunned for the deviant he is.

Nigeria: Mob Burns Man Alive After Arguing with Muslim Cleric

A Nigerian man named Ahmad Usman was assaulted by a mob in the capital city of Abuja and set on fire Saturday, after he was seen arguing with a Muslim cleric. Usman was taken to the hospital by police, but declared dead on arrival.

“The heated argument degenerated into an outbreak of violence that led to the murder and setting ablaze of Ahmad Usman by the enraged mob mobilized by the clergy, numbering about two hundred,” Abuja police spokeswoman Josephine Adeh said.

Adeh described the murder as “jungle justice” and promised “adequate sanctions” would be rendered against those responsible for the “crude and dastardly act.”

The Nigerian Tribune described Usman as a 30-year-old “member of a vigilante group,” and said he was first stoned and then immolated for “allegedly making statements deemed to be blasphemous.”

According to this account, Usman’s unnamed vigilante group was guarding a building in a suburb of Abuja on Saturday when it deemed some local residents to be troublemakers and tried to “arrest” them.

“The residents were said to have begged the vigilance group to free them in the name of Allah, but one of the vigilantes kicked and made comments said to be blasphemous,” the Nigerian Tribune reported.

The Premium Times of Nigeria added more details on Monday, saying trouble began when Usman tried to “arrest” a fried yam vendor because he was in the market area after midnight, breaking a deadline imposed by the community.

A local witness said Usman made “blasphemous comments” after the yam seller, who turned out to also be a Muslim cleric, demanded to be released “in Allah’s name.”

Other members of Usman’s vigilante group said a mob of black-clad men with stones appeared, trashed the group’s office, and then used burning tires to set Usman on fire.

Nigeria’s Emergency Digest reported on Tuesday that the yam-slinging cleric who ordered Usman’s death has been identified as Malam Lawan and taken into custody by police. This report said Usman himself was Muslim, and was “buried on Saturday according to Islamic rights.” The report mentioned that Usman was married earlier this year.

Both Nigerian and international media put Usman’s death in the context of rising tensions after the murder of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a Christian student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education in the state of Sokoto who was beaten, stoned, hanged, and burned by a Muslim mob last month.

Yakubu was killed after sending a WhatsApp message to classmates that was “deemed to be insulting to the Prophet Muhammas,” as Human Rights Watch (HRW) put it. Her killers videotaped themselves celebrating over her dead body.

Muslim students rioted after two suspects were arrested for Yakubu’s murder, and police indicated they would track down the others who appeared on video abusing her corpse. The mob demanded police release all suspects and discontinue their manhunt.

The Biden State Department removed Nigeria from its list of countries that severely violate religious freedom in November 2021.

Islam, the ‘religion of peace,’ strikes again

Google “Islam is a peaceful religion” and a number of sources will come up, declaring that Islam is indeed a religion that teaches peace and tolerance. Still, there have been hundreds of terrorist attacks in the name of Islam for decades. The Taliban is now enforcing the burqa in Afghanistan, even for female journalists. Ilhan Omar, the anti-Semitic representative from Minnesota, still enjoys strong support from the Muslim community despite her characterization of 9/11 as “some people did something.” I don’t pretend to be an expert on Islam but all this seems less than peaceful.

The latest outpouring of “peace” from the Islamic world has been directed at Nupur Sharma, an Indian woman who represented the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Apparently, she said something that angered the Muslim community in India. Sharma was forced to issue an apology, after which she was suspended from the BJP. Not content with ruining Sharma’s career, Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, and Saudi Arabia condemned her remarks. Qatar wants an apology from the country of India. But what exactly did Sharma say?

Image: Nupur Sharma (edited). YouTube screen grab.

I searched in vain on this point. Every news source loftily declared that it would not print what Sharma said because it was so offensive. I finally came across a YouTube video in which the presenter claimed that all Sharma said was that Muhammad married his wife Aisha when she was six years old and that he consummated the marriage when she was nine years old. Traditional sources quote Aisha on these points.

As I said, I am not an expert on Islam. Nor have I read the Koran. However, I would go so far as to say that it should not be considered Islamophobic to mention something from a sacred text that has been accepted for centuries. Nor do I think a woman’s reputation and career should be destroyed by emissaries of “peace” who are not happy with what their sacred book alleges.

“The tentacles of the Islamist hydra have deeply penetrated the world. The Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood poses a clear threat in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood also wages its deadly campaign through its dozens of well-established and functioning branches all over the world.”

When Islam, the very antithesis of peace, is sold to us by Muslims and their useful idiots as being the very definition of peace, and actually gains traction, that would have made Goebbels blush.

Minneapolis Becomes First Large City to Broadcast Islamic Call to Prayer Over Loudspeakers

Celebrate diversity, you bigot! What could possibly go wrong?

Ilhan Omar is thrilled; on Friday, she retweeted a tweet celebrating the fact that the Islamic call to prayer, the adhan, has begun to be broadcast over loudspeakers in Minneapolis. According to the Associated Press, Minneapolis “became the first large city in the United States to allow the Islamic call to prayer, or adhan, to be broadcast publicly by its two dozen mosques.” AP added that “the transforming soundscape is testament to the large and increasingly visible Muslim community, which is greeting the change with both celebration and caution, lest it cause backlash.”

Yes, of course, we have to be worried about “backlash” from all those MAGA-hat-wearing bigots in Minneapolis, ready to go all Jussie Smollett on Muslims if they start praying too loudly, but back in the real world, everyone is happy about this, and full of self-congratulation for celebrating diversity so visibly and noisily. And it’s a shame to spoil the party, but when Minneapolis mosques now broadcast the Islamic call to prayer, do Minneapolis residents know exactly what is being proclaimed?

The adhan, prayed in Arabic, repeats “Allahu akbar” six times, “I testify that there is no god but Allah” three times, and “I testify that Muhammad is Allah’s prophet” twice. Dr. Gavin Ashenden, former chaplain to the British queen, who resigned his position in protest against a Qur’an reading in a Scottish church, observed that “the Muslim call to prayer is a dramatic piece of Islamic triumphalism. It proclaims Islam’s superiority over all other religions, and in so doing casts Jesus in the role of a charlatan and a liar. The Muslim god, Allah, is unknowable and has no son. Jesus was, therefore, a fraud in claiming He and the Father are one.”

Is Minneapolis really wise to broadcast repeatedly a declaration of the superiority of Islam, a faith that directs its adherents to make war against Christians and other non-Muslims and subjugate them as inferiors under the hegemony of believers (cf. Qur’an 9:29)? There are probably a few Christians left here and there in Minneapolis. In Egypt, mosques blare the Islamic call to prayer directly at churches during Christian prayers, in order to harass the Christians and proclaim the supremacy of Islam. Is any Christian in Minneapolis allowed to be concerned about this coming to his or her city, or would that simply be “Islamophobic”?

Is Minneapolis really wise to broadcast the cry “Allahu akbar,” beloved of jihad terrorists the world over? Chief 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta wrote this in his letter to himself before carrying out his jihad mission: “When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.” This is why the Fort Hood jihad killer, Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted it as he shot thirteen Americans in November 2009, and why so many other jihadis have used it essentially as an announcement that non-Muslims are about to die.

Yusuf Abdulle of the Islamic Association of North America said of the prayer over loudspeakers: “It’s a sign that we are here.” In light of the use of so many elements of the adhan by jihad terrorists, however, this kind of reassurance “that we are here” may not be as welcome as it is to the local Muslims among others who may hear it: victims of jihad violence and those who are aware of the aggressive and supremacist nature of the call to prayer.

Meanwhile, Mowlid Ali, the imam at the Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center in south Minneapolis, added: “We hope that through calling the adhan in public, it would actually bring more interest from the neighbors in knowing about the religion of Islam.”

More interest in the religion of Islam would be great, if it were met with honest answers. But in Minneapolis today, such answers would likely be condemned and dismissed as “Islamophobic.” Minneapolis officials are no doubt certain that Muslim communities in the city will be grateful for the permission to broadcast the adhan, and will redouble their efforts to become loyal, productive citizens, marching together with non-Muslims in Minnesota into the glorious multicultural future. That’s the way it will work out. Isn’t it? No Muslims, not a single one, will take seriously the adhan’s declarations of Islamic superiority and heed the Qur’an’s calls to wage war against unbelievers. Right? In multiculti Minneapolis today, the idea that someone might heed the call to jihad is inconceivable!

New York to New Delhi: The Art of Hijacking Public Property For Prayer

Causing disruptions, then smearing infidels.

Hundreds of Muslims gathered in New York City’s Times Square to break the first fast of Ramadan on April 2, 2022. This news made headlines all over the Internet, and similar news pieces continued to surface throughout the month of Ramadan. In many areas, roads known for heavy traffic were filled with Muslims observing the month-long fast. Being tolerant, we may cordially allow this fun and frolic for a particular day or occasion. But would it become a matter for concern if it developed into a standard practice around the globe? What if it became a weekly routine?

Imagine that these gatherings descend on some major roads and sit down to pray. They halt traffic, causing immense inconvenience to others in the process. When the crowd is done controlling the streets, they advance toward public parks and playgrounds. The crowd is allowed to pray for the love of communal harmony. The question is, how healthy will this practice prove for a diverse society? What does the public think about public assets being controlled by one community because they must pray and do it in the open?

In 2021, a group of Muslim children decided to offer their Friday prayers right across one of the busiest roads of the Hazaribagh-Chatra area in the state of Jharkhand, India, bringing the heavy evening traffic to a standstill. A netizen uploaded a picture of this demonstration on the Internet, which instantly went viral, sparking massive controversy. The local police arrested those who shared the picture on social media, instead of acting strongly against the adults under whose tutelage the spectacle was put on by the children.

There was a months-long altercation between Muslims and Hindus over prayers in public places of Gurgaon. The Hindu side demanded that the hijacking of car parks, market areas, and government-owned land for prayers must be stopped. Residents of the city assert that parks are created for their children to play and elderly parents to take a stroll. Understandably, Friday evening is the most relaxed time for most urban families, and they may want to spend some of it at the park. But a public park meant for social enjoyment becoming a religious center for a congregation of a particular faith trying to project their command and show off the changing face of Indian demography does not sit well with the locals. Many see this as a show of the Muslims’ growing power and influence in a town or city. Though it didn’t spiral into a violent riot, the controversy damaged the “harmony” between the two groups.

It’s not unusual to find hundreds of Muslims praying on railway tracks or platforms. A dead railway track, a government property, automatically qualifies as a prayer site these days. After witnessing this and noticing this pattern for decades, the silent majority decided not to stay silenced anymore. They have voiced their concern and, in some cases, vehemently opposed the practice of transforming public assets into Islamic properties.

Recently, Hindu activists in Bangalore staged a protest against the unlawful conversion of the public spaces inside the Krantiveera Sangoli Rayanna railway station into a mosque. They alleged that the mosque was set up by converting a porters’ restroom that members of all communities used before being turned into Masjid-e-Noorani 10 years ago. Reportedly, non-Muslims are now banned from visiting this particular room. To support their claims, activists have also released videos from this mosque on social media.

Illegal mazars mushrooming on railway platforms has become a familiar sight in various parts of the country. Only if a citizen anyone sums up the courage to report such encroachment in the name of faith and prayer is a police notice sent to take down illegal constrictions; otherwise, they are allowed to thrive. The authorities seldom take cognizance of such structures, and turn a blind eye to them.

Religious leaders often complain that mosques are crammed with more devotees than they can contain, and complain that their demands for more land/mosques are being overlooked. But how many mosques would be enough to accommodate the prayers of an ever-expanding population? As per the latest studies, there are over 700,000 mosques in India. The country is home to an estimated 204 million Muslims. That translates to 1 mosque for every 291 Muslims. And yet many Muslims are determined to pray in parks and streets on Friday evening, and this remains a bone of contention between the two dominant communities in India.

We conclude this discussion with the opinion of a Quora user, and we quote: “It’s not about prayer, it’s about display of the imperialist tendencies and the political nature of Islam. The goal is to block roads and cause inconvenience, while calling anyone who opposes it, communal.”

Shakedown in Michigan After Muslim Woman Had to Remove Hijab for Mugshot

CAIR wins a jackpot.

As far as Michigan’s Oakland County Times is concerned, this was all about a Muslim woman being robbed of her dignity and having that dignity restored by means of a monetary settlement (the amount of which remains discreetly undisclosed). So all’s well that ends well, but there is more to this case than just dignity lost and restored: the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has once again demonstrated that it has mastered the art of the shakedown.

The lost-and-found dignity in question was that of Helana Bowe, a hijab-wearing Muslim woman who was pulled over for a routine traffic stop on 8 Mile Road in Ferndale, Mich., in October 2021. According to the Times’ report, she was “subsequently arrested,” although the Times does not bother to explain why. After all, people who are stopped for speeding or running a red light and the like are usually given a ticket and sent on their way. But for some undisclosed reason, Helana Bowe was taken to the station and booked, and that’s where her troubles really began.

At the police station, according to the Times, Bowe “was searched by a male officer and had her hijab (Islamic head scarf) forcibly removed for the booking photo.” This “not only cost Helana Bowe her dignity,” but has now cost the City of Ferndale as well, as it has paid Bowe and CAIR to make the case go away. Nor will this ever happen again: CAIR’s Michigan chapter crowed that “the city of Ferndale and Bowe have reached a full and satisfactory settlement of this matter that involved the city instituting new policies allowing Muslim women to maintain their hijab when a booking photo is taken and prohibiting cross-gender searches in the absence of an emergency as well as a monetary settlement.”

CAIR-MI Staff Attorney Amy V. Doukoure was likewise exultant, saying: “We are pleased to announce this settlement and believe that the policies that Ferndale has put in place will help protect the religious rights of Muslim women who may find themselves in their custody. It is important to remember that the Constitution was written to protect those who are most vulnerable, and many of the rights protected by the Bill of Rights were enacted to safeguard our freedoms, specifically during interactions with law enforcement. Religious freedoms remain intact, even when facing arrest or incarceration.” The Bill of Rights! Religious freedoms! Who could possibly object?

A recent story from Australia illustrates why the celebrations of diversity might be a bit premature. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported on May 5 about a woman named Kailee Mitz, who was doing time in an Australian prison for trying to smuggle meth into the country. One day Mitz was minding her own business at Melbourne’s Dame Phyllis Frost Centre “when she was ambushed by Momena Shoma — a convicted Islamic militant — who tried to kill her with a pair of gardening shears that had been secreted in her headscarf.”

Now that the City of Ferndale is allowing hijabs to be worn in booking photos, who knows what might be hidden in them, and what violent incidents could result. Having people take off their headgear for mugshots is also a simple matter of ensuring accuracy of identification, but security issues have to give way when the multicultural ethos appears to be threatened.

There is some sensitivity training money involved in all this as well. Ferndale Police Community Engagement Officer Jill Mahlmeister said, “Since October, all city departments have undertaken cultural sensitivity trainings facilitated by the Islamic Networks Group (ING). ING, the chosen facilitator was selected by the City’s Racial Equity Action Team. City Manager Joseph Gacioch requested additional educr all city departments following the October incident.” And of course, the city has to pay for all this training.

All this has happened before. Last December in Minnesota, a Muslim woman was awarded $120,000 for having to remove her hijab for a jailhouse mugshot. CAIR indefatigably pushes the notion that Muslims are victims of widespread harassment and discrimination in the United States, and that asking Muslim women to remove their hijabs even for mugshots is an aspect of this harassment. Actual hate crimes against Muslims are so thin on the ground that they have to be manufactured. The removal of Helana Bowe’s hijab was really nothing more than a simple security issue, as well as a matter of precise identification. That should apply to everyone, not just to Muslim women, and is not due to “Islamophobia.” But these lawsuits are a cash cow for Hamas-linked CAIR and its clients.

So the ING, CAIR, and Helana Bowe all enjoy a financial bonanza, and Ferndale, Mich., residents are that much less safe. But diversity is saved. Go back to sleep.

It’s Muslim Roulette. Even the most “moderate” and “peaceful” Muslims can, out of the blue, commit the most obscene acts of violence, but with no prior warning signs. These Muslims may not act outwardly any different than they have before, but internally, they began to take Islam seriously. And the more serious a Muslim takes Islam, the more potentially dangerous he or she is. Here’s what I mean by Muslim Roulette:

A is A. Islam is Islam. There is no such thing as “Good” Islam or “Bad” Islam. Islam is a totalitarian religion, while Muslims are individual human beings who may or may not practice Islam faithfully. There are active Muslims and passive Muslims, the faithful and the unfaithful, the submitted and the un-submitted in Islam, but there is no obvious way to tell the difference between them, which has its benefits for Muslims who are committed to spreading Islam by any means necessary. Mohammad said “War is deceit” and practiced this, and Muslims have followed their leader in using deception against non-Muslims from the first days of Islam to today. When Islam, the very antithesis of peace, is sold to us by Muslims and their useful idiots as being the very definition of peace, and actually gains traction, that would have made Goebbels blush.

When it comes to the Taliban, Nancy Pelosi is delusional

By Andrea Widburg

Showing a bizarre disassociation from facts, senility, or a feminist obsession that overrides all other things, Nancy Pelosi issued an utterly ludicrous statement on Afghanistan. Its entire focus is on women and girls. There’s no mention of the thousands or tens of thousands of men who have been and will be slaughtered in cold blood. There’s also no recognition that the Taliban is a medieval Islamic sect that believes women and girls (including little girls) belong in the home cooking for and satisfying the sexual needs of their Taliban husbands – and that’s it.

Pentecost Massacre in Nigeria Claims the Lives of More Than 50 Christians

Presumed jihadists stormed a Catholic church in southwest Nigeria Sunday and opened fire on worshipers, killing at least 50 and wounding dozens more.

The attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in the town of Owo in Ondo State took place in the morning when the faithful had gathered for Mass to celebrate Pentecost, a commemoration of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles after Christ’s ascension into heaven.

“We were about to round off service. I had even asked people to start leaving, that was how we started hearing gunshots from different angles,” said Father Andrew Abayomi, one of the priests at St. Francis Church.

“We hid inside the church but some people had left when the attack happened. We locked ourselves in the church for 20 minutes. When we heard that they had left, we opened the church and rushed victims to the hospital,” the priest said.

In response to the attack, Pope Francis offered his condolences and prayers “for the victims and for the country.”

An initial report from State police spokeswoman Ibukun Odunlami suggested the militants also set off explosives during the attack. While no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the targeting of Christians strongly suggests Islamic extremists were behind the assault.

Ondo state Governor Rotimi Akeredolu called the incident a “vile and satanic attack” on innocent people and appealed for calm, urging people not to take the law into their own hands.

“The assailants will be hunted down and they will pay for their crimes,” he said in a statement on social media.

“It is a black Sunday in Owo. Our hearts are heavy. Our peace and tranquility have been attacked by the enemies of the people. This is a personal loss, an attack on our dear state,” he declared.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ondo State Chapter strongly condemned the violence, declaring it is “very sad that human lives mean very little to those whose business it is to provide security for lives and properties in our country.”

We urge the security agencies “to up their game to be more proactive than allowing this kind of calamity to strike before promises of tracking down the culprits,” the PDP said, adding that it is “unacceptable for worshippers to be mowed down in a church.”

“The perpetrators must certainly be animals just in human skin. It is sacrilegious,” the group said.

Joe Biden Wants Schools to Teach About ‘Islamic Faith’

KYLE OLSON

Joe Biden told a Muslim group on Monday he wishes schools would teach more about the “Islamic faith.”

“I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done so far and that’s for — thank you for taking the time for watching today,” Biden told Emgage Action’s Million Muslim Voters Summit.

“Look, one of the things I think is important, I wish — I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith. I wish we talked about all the great confessional faiths. It’s one of the great confessional faiths. And what people don’t realize is — one of my avocations is theology — don’t realize is we all come from the same root here in terms of our fundamental basic beliefs,” he said.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a leftist group that fights God in the public square, including in schools, did not respond to a request for comment.

Republican lawmakers in several states have proposed bills that would require “In God We Trust” to be placed prominently in schools.

In Pennsylvania, every legislative Democrat, including state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta — a prominent Biden supporter — opposed the bill.

“There is nothing currently in law prohibiting schools or other public buildings from doing this,” Kenyatta said in September 2019, The Morning Call reported.

“The question becomes why have we, in my humble opinion, wasted however much time debating something that is not prohibited in law when there are a number of other important things that have not yet come before this committee?”

Leftists contend “In God We Trust” is associated with Christianity, and is tantamount to state-sponsored religion.

'Sheer Wickedness' and 'Killing in the Name of Allah'

The Muslim persecution of Christians that occurred in just one month.

The following are some of the abuses Muslims inflicted on Christians throughout the month of February, 2020:

The Slaughter of Christians

Burkina Faso:  On Sunday, February 16, Islamic gunmen raided a church during service and slaughtered 24 worshippers, including their pastor; 18 other congregants were injured during the jihad and several others kidnapped. The terrorists torched the church building before leaving.

In a separate incident on February 10, militant Muslims abducted and slaughtered a church pastor, his son, two nephews, and another Christian clergyman.

According to a separate February 3 report, “Jihadists, claiming to be killing ‘in the name of Allah,’ returned to the scene of a previous atrocity … and murdered at least ten Christian men in a village market place; some estimates have put the death toll as high as 50.”  The attack took place in the same small town “where Boko Haram extremists began their murderous rampage last year on 28 April 2019, shooting the pastor, his son and four members of the congregation.” Then, as in other instances, the Islamic gunmen “threatened to kill anyone who would not convert to Islam.”

“Christians say they are in a fight for survival,” another report declared: “Dozens of Catholic priests have been killed; Protestant pastors and their families have been killed or kidnapped by violent Islamic militants. Villagers wearing Christian symbols are singled out and killed on the spot. Jihadists replace schools with what locals call ‘Arab’ schools; churches, shops and health centers are burned down.”

Democratic Republic of Congo: During several orchestrated raids, militant Muslims slaughtered a 60-year-old pastor “after he refused their demands to convert to Islam.” According to a February 6 report:

Ngulongo Year Batsemire, the Archdeacon of Eringeti, was walking to his fields with his wife when they were surrounded by members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamist militant group that has been active in the north-east region of DRC for more than two decades and repeatedly targets Christians.  The militants demanded Pastor Ngulongo tell them where they could find other pastors. They then attempted to force him to convert to Islam. When the father-of-ten refused to renounce Jesus Christ, the jihadists martyred him. His wife’s life was spared. She recalls that the militants had uttered a local phrase known to be used when they are looking to kill Christians but spare Muslims.

According to a separate report, around the same day that the pastor was murdered and over the ensuing 48 hours, jihadists slaughtered “at least 74 civilians, many of them women and children, with knives and guns” in ten different villages in the Christian-majority nation in early February.

Kenya:  On February 19,  Muslims linked with the Islamic terror group Al Shabaab (“the youth”), raided another bus in search of Christians and killed at least three people (one report says four); two others were injured.  At least two Christian men, Kevin Onyango and Peter Kilonzo, were executed because they could or would not proclaim the Islamic statement of faith, the shahada, which instantly converts its reciter into a Muslim.  One man of Muslim background was also killed for heroically trying to defend the Christians (and therefore apostatizing in the terrorists’ eyes).  Discussing this incident, a local evangelist said:

We are seeing a return of planned violent attacks against Christians… Hostility against Christians has been escalating in Mandera at an alarming rate and is being carried out by al-Shabaab members. They target public service vehicles, where they separate Christians from Muslims and execute them. If not vehicles, they attack residential places and kill non-local Christian people.  We are, however, proud of the few courageous Muslims who stand up and defend Christians. In this bus attack, one of them was killed for trying to stop the gunmen from shooting the Christians who were not able to say the Islamic prayer.

Two months before this attack, 11 Christians were executed in a similar fashion: jihadists raided their bus and ordered them to recite the shahada.

Mozambique:  In the Christian majority nation (where Muslims amount for less than 20 percent of the population), “Continuing Islamist attacks,” a February 14 report documented, “have already claimed 500 lives and left thousands displaced,” since October 2017, and “shows no signs of coming to an end.”  Between just January 29 and 30 there were six separate attacks “causing a general exodus of the population and leaving behind a broad swath of destruction in villages.”  Local Bishop Luiz Fernando Lisboa decried the attacks as “a tragedy” and acknowledged his own vulnerability, adding:

I am not afraid. I’m simply trying to fulfil my own role, which is to support the missionaries who are there, in the direct line of fire. They are extremely brave. They are the oasis that the people need, [trusted figures] to whom they can cry out and ask for help. They have not abandoned their posts and so I have no right to be afraid.

Pakistan: Saleem Masih, a 22-year-old Christian farmhand, was tortured and killed for using his Muslim employer’s water well.  Once he saw what Masih was doing, the employer accused him of being a “filthy Christian” who “had polluted the water.”  A number of equally scandalized Muslims gathered; “vow[ing] to teach him a lesson,” they “dragged him to their cattle farm, where they tied his hands, chained his feet and continued to torture him with sticks and iron rods.”  Before he died from his wounds on February 28, Masih told his family that he had been “tortured just for being a Christian.” The employer later insisted that he had committed no crime; it was the murdered Christian who had “committed a crime by dirtying” their water, his murderer insisted, and therefore his punishment—torture and death—was “justified.”  Masih’s father also confirmed that his son was murdered “for nothing but for being Christian.”  Violent and murderous outbursts by Muslims whenever “filthy Christians” drink or use “their” water is not uncommon.  In 2004, Javed Anjum, another young Christian, was trapped and tortured for five full days, before being killed for having the temerity to drink water from a madrassa.  Even the most notorious case of Christian persecution in Pakistan, that of Asia Bibi—who was beat, falsely accused of blasphemy, and accordingly imprisoned for nearly a decade—began after she, then a farm laborer, also drank from a well, prompting outrage from her Muslim coworkers.

The Massacre of Nigeria’s Christians

Many more Christians were killed and churches torched at the hands of militant Muslims (Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, generic terrorists).

On February 21, well over a hundred heavily armed Boko Haram jihadists raided Garkida in Gombi of Adamawa State, a predominantly Christian village.  According to one report, they “opened fire sporadically and indiscriminately and set churches and houses on fire, killing many people…  At least five churches were destroyed, including two houses of worship belonging to the Church of the Brethren denomination, an Anglican Communion church, and a church and a separate office of Living Faith Church.”  Possible abductions were reported. The raiders had suddenly emerged out of a neighboring forest after Friday prayers riding atop 60 motorbikes; each vehicle carried two terrorists armed with AK47s and RPGs, followed by about 20 mounted gun trucks. “Garkida is currently on fire,” one local reported; “many people have been killed and their houses covered with smoke.”

According to a February 18 report, the Fulani Muslim herdsmen that slaughtered 32 Christians during late January raids on three Christian villages (already reported here), also torched four Christian churches:

These churches include the Kauna Baptist Church and Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Rubio village, and the COCIN Church and Anglican Church in Marish. Although other structures were also destroyed, the destruction of these churches demonstrates a particular hatred toward Christianity. Despite this, the Nigerian government insists that there is no religious motivation in Fulani militant attacks throughout Nigeria’s Middle Belt region.

On February 1, Michael Nnadi, an 18-year-old theology student at the Good Shepherd Seminary in Kaduna, was found killed.  Along with three other seminarians who had since gained their freedom, he was earlier abducted by unknown but suspected militant Muslims.  “Michael was a young and gifted seminarian,” said one of the teachers at the seminary. “He was an orphan who had been brought up by his grandmother. Just a few weeks ago, after a year of spiritual preparation, he had been clothed in the soutane. It seems that his only crime was his desire to serve God. The security forces and the government have failed him.”

During a homily at Michael’s funeral, Matthew Hassan Kukah, Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, said: “We have no evidence of what transpired between Michael and his killers. However, for us Christians, this death is a metaphor for the fate of all Christians in Nigeria but especially northern Nigeria,” where Muslims make the majority, and where “destroying Christianity is seen as one of their key missions,” he said of Boko Haram and its many sympathizers in the north. “Are we to deny the evidence before us, of kidnappers separating Muslims from infidels or compelling Christians to convert or die?” The bishop continued:

The persecution of Christians in northern Nigeria is as old as the modern Nigerian state. Their experiences and fears of northern, Islamic domination are documented in the Willinks Commission Report way back in 1956. It was also the reason why they formed a political platform called, the Non-Muslim League. All of us must confess in all honesty that in the years that have passed, the northern Muslim elite has not developed a moral basis for adequate power sharing with their Christian co-regionalists. We deny at our own expense. By denying Christians lands for places of worship across most of the northern states, ignoring the systematic destruction of churches all these years, denying Christians adequate recruitment, representation and promotions in the State civil services, denying their indigenous children scholarships, marrying Christian women or converting Christians while threatening Muslim women and prospective converts with death, they make building a harmonious community impossible….  Are we to deny the evidence before us, of kidnappers separating Muslims from infidels or compelling Christians to convert or die?

For his part, Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s former Minister of Culture and Tourism, accused the “evil Barack Obama” and his administration for being behind the persecution of Christians and general chaos plaguing Nigeria.  On February 12, the former government official asserted that,

What Obama, John Kerry and Hilary Clinton did to Nigeria by funding and supporting [current president Muhammadu] Buhari in the 2015 presidential election and helping Boko Haram in 2014/2015 was sheer wickedness and the blood of all those killed by the Buhari administration, his Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram over the last 5 years are on their hands….  I just thank God for Donald Trump. Had he been President of America in 2015 things would have been very different, Jonathan [Goodluck, Nigeria’s original Christian president] would have won, Boko Haram would have been history and the Fulani herdsmen would never have seen the light of day.

Hate Crimes against Christians and Churches

Pakistan: On  February 2, local Muslims, led by Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Liaqat, opened fire on a group of Christians because they were building a small church on their own land in the village, which has nearly 150 Christians in need of a church.  The armed Muslims first came and tried forcefully to seize the Christian owned land, including by demolishing the church’s boundary wall.  According to the report,

When Gulzar Masih [the Christian owner] heard of this he and his sons rushed to the plot to stop the wall from being demolished, the Muslim attackers opened fire and three people (Christians) were severely injured. Azeem, son of Gulzar, was shot in the head, Sajjad was shot in his arm and Razaq was attacked with an axe….The other suspects fired their guns into the air and escaped the scene.

Egypt: On February 3, a Christian priest traveling to his church in Alexandria was ambushed and “nearly murdered” by a Muslim parolee. According to the report, the man “blocked the priest’s car and began attacking him with stones. Fortunately, only the car was damaged. The parolee, nicknamed Kareem Madi, has a history of attacking Christians—especially women and girls.”  Two weeks earlier, two other Christians—a woman who had her throat slit and a man who had his ear sliced off—were also randomly targeted in two separate incidents by Muslim men with known hatred for Christians.  The report adds that “These incidents are a reminder that while Egypt may be experiencing less Christian fatalities than previous years, the mindset which encourages the targeting of Christians still exist. It is a mindset that is encouraged by the government[,] by its policies which view Christians as second-class citizens and Islam as the official religion of the country.”

Turkey:  After locals interrupted the burial of a Christian woman—including by shouting Islam’s war cry, “Allahu Akbar!”—at the cemetery of the Santa Maria Catholic Church in Tabzon on January 18, her grave was later found desecrated, its wooden cross broken and burned, when her husband came to visit it on February 14.  The priest of the church which the deceased woman was a member of, Father Andrea Santoro, was himself martyred in 2006 when a 16-year-old, also shouting “Allahu Akbar,” shot the priest in the back of the head while he was kneeling in prayer inside the church.

“Christians are losing everything they own without an actual legal basis,” said Fr. Slavomir Dadas in a February 6 report on the deteriorating situation for Christians in Turkey. “They are losing everything Christians have worked for over the course of history.”  Although the priest’s discussion was focused on the hilly region of Tur Abdin—an ancient religious and cultural center for Christians where harassment and persecution has become the norm—his discourse had relevance for the entire nation:

The Christians do not feel welcome in their own homeland and have to endure frequent harassment….  The biggest problem, particularly in Tur Abdin, is that people can no longer envision a future for themselves in the region. It is said that there were almost 50,000 Christians living there about 50 years ago. When I recently visited the area, they were talking about only 2,500 Christians…. [T]hey seem to be regarded as a problem because the area itself is considered a Christian region. This is not acceptable in a Muslim country… The villages were once inhabited by 200 to 300 families, most of them Christians. Today, two or three Christian families live in a village… They are guardians of the cultural heritage and the faith there.

Pakistan: In order to justify marriage to a 14-year-old Christian girl who was previously abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and wed to a Muslim man, on February 3, during a hearing on the case of Huma Younus, the Sindh high court in Karachi ruled that men may marry underage girls once they have their period, in direct compliance with sharia, or Islamic law.  “Our daughters are insecure and abused in this country,” Huma’s mother remarked earlier. “They are not safe anywhere. We leave them at schools or home but they are kidnapped, raped, humiliated, and forced to convert to Islam.” Marriage to underage girls is illegal due to the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act, which the high court ignored to side with Muslims against Christians.  Discussing this incident, Napoleon Qayyum, executive director of the Pakistan Center of Law of Justice, said “Another Christian girl aged 14 was recently abducted and gang-raped by some Muslim youths…  The victim is a student of grade nine and was abducted by four or five boys on her way to a local tuition center on Jan. 16, 2020. The abductors not only raped her but also obtained her signatures and thumb impressions on some papers.”  Although police recovered her, the rights activist “fears the suspects will use her signed documents to produce a fake marriage certificate and religion conversion letter in a bid to escape abduction and rape charges,” which, he said, “is common modus operandi of Muslims to confuse the court and avoid justice.  Moreover, the girls are also forced to give false statements in court that they have changed their religion of free will and had married of their own choice,” Qayyum added. “Girls belonging to minority communities often succumb to pressure and consideration for their family’s security, which has further emboldened the men belonging to the majority faith.”

Uganda: “On Feb. 20, I received some threatening messages that my church is going to be destroyed because of converting Muslims to Christians,” a pastor reported. “Some of my members have stopped attending the church for fear of their lives in a possible attack by the Muslims. Sending away the helpless family is not a good idea, but losing church members is also not good. We as a church are in a dilemma.”  Earlier, the wife/mother of the family had converted to Christianity and began to share the Gospel with a few of her children, who in turn shared it with their older siblings.  Within a year, all nine children, aged between 5 and 20, also turned to Christianity.  But then, “When I shared Christ’s love to my husband,” the woman explained, “he was so furious at me and responded by slapping and kicking, which injured my rib on the left side. I was taken for medication. But I continued praying and sharing Jesus with him. After two months Jesus appeared to my husband in a vision, which led to his conversion to the Christian faith. He then stopped attending the prayers at mosque.”  However, when one of their youngest children innocently told her paternal grandfather that the family had been attending church, her father’s “angry father summoned him to a meeting where mosque elders and clan leaders would determine his punishment for leaving Islam. Under sharia (Islamic law), apostasy is often punishable by death,” the report adds.  Instead, the family fled to and “sought refuge at the church,” his wife explained, “where we have been residing since December 2019.”

Jihad on St. Valentine

As happens every year, several Muslim nations made it a point to issue proclamations and threats of punishment for anyone who celebrates Valentine’s Day, which Islamic leaders widely condemn as a Western holiday with Christian roots.  This was the case, for example, in various regions of Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation:  In Aceh, “Those who are [caught] celebrating Valentine’s Day violate Islamic Sharia law applied in Aceh, and they can be caned,” warned the regent of West Aceh.  Similarly, the “Indonesian Ulema [Islamic Scholars] Council in West Java and the mayor of Bandung sought to ban Valentine’s Day celebrations in all secondary and senior high schools,” while their counterparts in Tarakan, declared Valentine’s Day “illegal.”

Similarly, in Iran, “On February 11 this year the Center for Reduction and Control of Social Harms of the Prosecutor’s Office in Qom warned businesses that promote ‘anti-cultural symbols such as Valentine’s symbols’ threatening to shut them down from one to six months if they do not comply. The statement issued by Prosecutor’s Office has also provided a number for the public to call to report ‘transgressions.’”

Based on all these developments, statistics and accusations, it seems clear that the Muslim president is behind the unfolding genocide of Christians in Nigeria -- and Obama helped.

“Of course, one of the main reasons the nation is now “divided, resentful and angry” is because race-baiting, Islamist, class warrior Barack Hussein Obama was president for eight long years." MATTHEW VADUM

Open Season on the Jews of France

Yet another French Jew is murdered in an anti-Semitic hate crime.

In what has become a disturbing, and all too familiar occurrence in France, another elderly French Jew has been murdered in an unprovoked attack motivated by antisemitism. On May 21, an 89-year-old Lyon resident named RenĂ© Hadjaj was defenestrated from the 17th floor of the apartment complex where he resided. The perpetrator has been identified as a 51-year-old male of Algerian origin named Rachid Kheniche. Hadjaj was said to have been wearing a kippah at the time of the assault.

French police were quick to dismiss the attack as a dispute between neighbors unrelated to antisemitism. However, watchdog groups quickly alerted French law enforcement authorities to Kheniche’s social media postings where he engaged in antisemitic rants. After viewing the postings, the French prosecutor’s office requested that judges presiding over the case include an antisemitic motive charge as an aggravating circumstance in killing of Hadjaj.

Hadjaj’s murder is eerily similar to the horrific April 2017 murder of Sarah Halimi, a 65-year-old French-Jewish retired doctor, who was severely beaten and thrown from her apartment to her death. In that case, the killer was a 27-year-old drug dealer and user named Kobili Traore. Halimi, who lived in the same apartment complex as Traore had previously expressed fear of her future killer after enduring his repeated antisemitic threats. During his assault against Halimi, Traore yelled Allahu-Akbar (God is Great) a common Islamist refrain. After killing her, Traore reportedly said that he had just killed The Shaytan, an Islamic reference to Satan.

Concerned neighbors who heard the commotion in Halimi’s apartment and her cries for help called the police, whose response could be classified as comical if it wasn’t so sad. They initially arrived at the wrong address. When they finally reached the correct address, they waited for a SWAT team rather than entering immediately. A quick police response would have likely thwarted the attack and saved Halimi’s life.

But worse was yet to come. As in the case with Hadjaj, law enforcement authorities were quick to dismiss the antisemitic motive for the attack. After a public outcry, they changed their tune and added the charge of antisemitism as an aggravating factor. After a long and protracted legal proceedings, involving psychiatric reports and appeals, the French court ruled that Traore’s murder of Halimi was the result of a drug-induced psychosis and that therefore, he was not criminally responsible for her murder.

The logic of the French court that exonerated Traore is beyond comprehension. It essentially allows a murderer to escape the consequences of his own purposeful, deleterious and irresponsible actions. The manner in which France’s judiciary dealt with Halimi’s killer will remain an indelible stain on France’s judicial system and testament to its disregard for the rule of law and basic societal norms.

The Hadjaj and Halimi cases are not isolated incidents. In 2018, an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor named Mireille Knoll was stabbed 11 times by an assailant, who like Traore, yelled Allahu Akbar while stabbing her. In that case, two petty criminals broke into her Paris home believing that because she was Jewish, she was in possession of “hidden treasures.” The stabber was sentenced to life in prison but is eligible for parole in 22 years. His accomplice was acquitted of murder but convicted of theft with antisemitic motives and received 15 years.

France’s 500,000 strong Jewish population is under siege. Jews across the country are subject to daily harassment and assault, principally at the hands of France’s Muslims who far outnumber the Jewish population by a factor of about 10 to 1.

Three months prior to Hadjaj’s murder, a young French Jew named JĂ©rĂ©mie Cohen was the victim of a gang assault. He was observant and wearing a kippah and this was sufficient to trigger the mob to attack him. In a desperate bid to escape his attackers, he ran into a busy thoroughfare and was fatally struck by a passing vehicle. Predictably, French police were quick to dismiss the incident as a simple traffic accident. It was only after Cohen’s family presented authorities with CCTV footage did the Justice Ministry agree to reopen the investigation.

It is open season on the Jews of France. Antisemitism represents a constant and prevalent menace and French authorities are doing little, if anything to combat it. It often spikes during times of Mideast tension, but irrational Jew-hate does not need an excuse to rear its ugly head.

Many of those who carry out these attacks are well known to authorities either due to their association with petty crime or radical Islam. Often, it’s both. The criminals merge the tools of their crime trade with radical Islam, making for a violent combination.

The plight of the Jews of France makes for yet another compelling argument for the existence of a strong Israel. Whenever Jews are in the minority, they become the target of violence, and this is particularly true when religious fervor and jealousy are added to the mix. In the meantime, the Jewish flight from France continues apace with most heading for – you guessed it – Israel.

The French Imam Who Quoted the Quran

You'll never believe what happened next.

Robert Spencer

What on earth were French officials thinking? Or have we gone way beyond the point where “officials” and “thinking” can be used in the same sentence? The French news site Fdesouche reported Tuesday that Ahamada Mmadi, an imam from Comoros, has been deported from France. In parting from the land of crepes and Suzettes, Mmadi struck a defiant note: “I have nothing to regret and nothing to apologize for as long as I have spoken the word of Allah. If I repent, I am no longer a Muslim.” Fair enough, Mmadi, but France’s action in deporting this Muslim cleric is curious in the extreme. According to the Islamic news site 5 Pillars UK, Mmadi and his family were “deported from France after he recited a verse from the Quran and quoted a Hadith which encouraged women to be chaste, stay at home and obey their husbands.” He was accused of making “comments incompatible with the principles and laws of the Republic.”

So Mmadi’s statement that he had “spoken the word of Allah” was actually referring to why he was deported. But if he was really deported for quoting the Qur’an and Hadith, what do French authorities think the other imams in the country are teaching?

Mmadi added: “I don’t have to apologise for the moment I spoke the word of Allah. … Our sisters live a nightmarish life … and we call it a land of freedom.” Mmadi was claiming that women in France live a “nightmarish life” because they aren’t subject to the restrictions on women’s freedom that Islamic law entails. The good imam was apparently criticizing the status of women in France, as compared to the status of women in states that enforce Islamic law (Sharia), during a sermon at the Saint-Chamond mosque in the Loire department. During that sermon, he quoted a passage from the Qur’an that French authorities thought was unacceptably misogynistic.

According to 5 Pillars UK, Mmadi quoted this passage from the Qur’an: “And stay in your houses. Do not display yourselves with the display of the time of ignorance. Be regular in prayer, and give alms, and obey Allah and his messenger.” (Qur’an 33:33)

If French officials were looking for misogyny and inequality, the Qur’an has much more disturbing passages than that. It even calls for the beating of women that Muslim men even suspect might be contemplating getting out of line: “Men are in charge of women, because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend of their property. So good women are obedient, guarding in secret what Allah has guarded. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, give them a warning and banish them to separate beds, and beat them.” (Qur’an 4:34)

It doesn’t seem, however, as if Mmadi even quoted that verse; the other one, calling for women to cover themselves and stay at home, was bad enough in itself for French authorities. To be sure, according to 5 Pillars UK, however, Mmadi did go a bit farther: “He also told worshippers at the mosque about an authentic Hadith in which Abu Huraira (ra) reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘If a woman prays her five prayers, fasts her month of Ramadan, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise from any gate she wishes.’” This was the basis upon which “French authorities in the Loire region deemed his sermon, which was made at Eid prayers last year, ‘discriminatory.’”

Mmadi pointed out quite correctly: “These are not my words, they are the words of the Prophet and of God. All I did was repeat what was in the holy books.” Indeed. And so it is extraordinary that French authorities deported him for this. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of other imams in France. Do French authorities think that they don’t read the same Qur’an that contains the passage Mmadi quoted? Do French authorities assume that all other imams in France reject the Qur’an’s exhortations to violence, misogyny, and hatred for unbelievers? Do they not realize that other Muslims besides Mmadi read and believe in the Qur’an as well?

If French authorities, as well as authorities all over the West, including the U.S., think that imams such as Ahamada Mmadi are “extremists,” they’re in for a rude awakening. They continue to insist that they want to create a new Islam with French characteristics, an Islam that will be compatible with French secularism. Yet the Qur’an also has Allah telling the believers: “This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed my favor to you, and have chosen Islam as the religion for you.” (5:3) If Islam is perfect as it is, any change will only make it worse, not better. That’s why innovation (bid’a) is a serious sin in Islam. Do French officials honestly think they will be able to create a new, Westernized Islam, shorn of its features that are offensive to contemporary Western sensibilities? If so, they really are in for a rude awakening.

Macron Denies ‘Great Replacement’ But Admits Migrant Integration Failures

CHRIS TOMLINSON

French President Emmanuel Macron has denied the existence of the “Great Replacement” and claimed France is a country of immigrants, but has admitted migrant integration failures in recent decades.

The French president said he did not believe in the Great Replacement, a theory coined by writer Renaud Camus to describe the ongoing rapid demographic shifts taking place in Europe and elsewhere as elites in business and politics view human beings as interchangeable, replaceable things. The theory has become a major talking point in France in recent weeks.

“When we talk about these phenomena, it is better to first look at the figures,” President Macron told broadcaster Tf1 this week and added: “Since the end of the 19th century, we have been a nation of immigration, with part of that immigration having been integrated through work.”

“It has helped the growth of our country, to move forward. When I hear the nonsense of saying zero immigration… There has never been zero immigration, that is not true. […] I don’t believe in the Great Replacement. It’s not here,” the French president added.

Macron’s remarks were largely directed at opposition presidential candidate and conservative pundit and writer Eric Zemmour who has referenced the Great Replacement many times in the past and has called for a zero immigration policy as part of his presidential platform.

“Zero immigration will become a clear objective of our policy,” Zemmour said at his first campaign rally earlier this month in the Paris suburb of Villepinte.

President Macron did admit in his remarks, however, that migrant integration efforts in France have seen troubles in recent years, saying: “What is true is that in recent decades, we have not integrated well.”

“Our economy was not strong enough, we did not adapt our efforts to integrate, and we had a policy that consisted of building neighbourhoods where we put all the difficulties in the same place. We segregated our country. It was three mistakes, and we are in the process of gradually correcting them,” Macron said.

The French president has previously railed against so-called parallel societies in France, particularly Islamic parallel societies, and has vowed to tackle issues of separatism following the murder of teacher Samuel Paty last year.

The death of Paty, who was beheaded by a Chechen refugee Islamist radical, sparked the Macron government to vow to crack down on radical Islam in France as well as to promise to confront political Islam.

President Macron also admitted that immigration into France has increased in recent years, but blamed the phenomenon on “political crises” and people trafficking networks, saying: “The answer is not to say that there will be a Great Replacement.”

Despite the French leader’s denial of the Great Replacement, the theory has caught the attention of many in France and a recent poll released in November claimed that as much as half of the French public believes in the theory.

Illegal Alien Refugee Met With the Pope, Burned a Cathedral, Killed a Priest

Europeans and Americans are paying the price for Pope Francis’ support for illegal migration.

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

Pope Francis concluded the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy by inviting thousands of homeless from across Europe to Rome. Many of those homeless were foreign migrants. Among them was Emmanuel Abayisenga, a Rwandan migrant, the son of a man tried for genocide, who had been in France since 2012, and finally got his chance to briefly meet with the Pope.

While reporters brandished telephoto lenses and stood on chairs to capture the moment, Pope Francis clasped Abayisenga's arms. The Rwandan, toting a Nike backpack and headphones, appears, as local French clergy would later insist, to be, "fully integrated" into Europe.

He was also the model of the "socially deprived" people whom Pope Francis was looking for.

The Pope had urged convents and monasteries to open their doors to migrants and refugees.

“May every parish, every religious community, every monastery, every sanctuary of Europe, take in one family,” he insisted. Europeans should welcome migrants and Christians should not fear the “differences” of Muslims. He boasted that, “There are two parishes in the Vatican, and every parishioner has welcomed a Syrian family.”

“Those arriving in Europe now are fleeing from war or famine. And we are in some ways responsible, because we strip their lands for profit,” Pope Francis scolded Europeans.

While Pope Francis’ pro-migrant policies have been disastrous in America with illegal aliens spreading the coronavirus across the country, French Catholic institutions have been among the hardest hit by the Pope’s policy of sheltering illegal migrants like Emmanuel Abayisenga.

Last year the Nantes Cathedral, whose cornerstone had been laid in 1434, began to burn. The Grand Organ, over 400 years old, was destroyed along with historic stained glass windows.

Abayisenga had started two fires near the Grand Organ and a third near an electric panel.

The year after meeting with Pope Francis, Abayisenga began volunteering at the Nantes Cathedral. Like many other migrants, his asylum requests had been repeatedly turned down, but the Rwandan migrant continued to stay in the country with the support of the clergy.

“He was even the most protected man in Nantes at the ecclesial level: the parish, the Franciscans, the Secours Catholique supported him. Even the former bishop of the diocese, Jean-Paul James, tried to plead his case with the prefect," a local churchgoer related.

But before the fire, Abayisenga had sent a threatening email complaining that church officials hadn’t done enough for his asylum petitions to allow him to stay in France and suggesting that the cathedral was possessed by a devil that needed to be driven out. Despite that he was allowed to retain his position as a warden, tasked with locking up and unlocking the cathedral.

After the fire, it didn’t take long to figure out who had done it, for the authorities to set him loose, and for the same system harboring illegal refugees to welcome him back again despite what he had done.

Abayisenga’s lawyer claimed that he “bitterly regretted” setting the fires.

“The citizens of Nantes are still angry with him, but for the most part it is empathy that dominates now,” a Cathedral official explained.

Even though Abayisenga had already been ordered to leave France four times because his asylum requests had been repeatedly denied, he was allowed to stay while awaiting trial.

After spending a month at a mental hospital, the cathedral arsonist was released and placed in an abbey under the supervision of Fr. Olivier Maire of the Montfort Missionaries. The Rwandan spent a few months there before Fr. Maire called the police because he had tried to leave.

A few more months went by and then Abayisenga murdered Fr. Maire. The illegal migrant then turned himself in for this latest horrifying crime against those who had kindly sheltered him.

Reports say that the Rwandan illegal alien refugee beat the 60-year-old priest to death.

Abayisenga is back in a psychiatric hospital and French authorities are claiming that nothing could have been done differently despite the four deportation orders for the illegal refugee.

"I regret the unnecessary controversies," Gerald Darmanin, the country's Minister of the Interior, snippily said at a press conference. As if there were no reason for people to wonder how an illegal migrant could have remained in France for nearly a decade, despite four deportation orders, and one of the most infamous arsons in a generation, before he murdered a priest.

But there is plenty of blame to go around.

For once the killer isn’t an Islamic terrorist, but the same broken system welcomed him, harbored him, failed to enforce the law, and gave him every possible opportunity to do harm.

Even after the Nantes Cathedral arson, pro-refugee organizations regaled the media with stories about his difficult childhood growing up during the Rwandan genocide (in which his father appears to have been a perpetrator). Yet despite all that, Abayisenga was apparently able to get a college degree and a good job before deciding to head over to France.

French authorities dismissed his claims to being a refugee, but they also failed to remove him.

And the clergy who sheltered him may have had the noblest motives, but failed to exercise even the most basic common sense no matter how obvious the threat that the migrant represented.

There is a good reason why countries have borders and laws. Abayisenga is a reminder of that.

Mercy and kindness are lovely qualities, but any individual, community, country, and culture must, at the barest minimum, see to its own survival, or its compassion is a suicide pact.

Pope Francis has argued that migrant rights should be prioritized over national security. He has sneered at President Trump and border security in the United States, declaring that, “builders of walls, be they made of razor wire or bricks, will end up becoming prisoners of the walls they build.” But the alternative to living securely within your walls is that your cathedrals will be burned and your priests murdered by the migrants you allowed inside your open borders.

Europeans and Americans are paying the price for Pope Francis’ support for illegal migration.

Too many people of all religions, Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish, have become prisoners of an unbalanced rhetoric of compassion that prioritizes grandiose shows of virtue signaling over the difficult human balance between protecting ourselves and helping others. In the face of such demands, we must remember that we cannot save the world if we cannot even save ourselves.

The story of the Nantes Cathedral, of Fr. Maire, and of Abayisenga is a reminder that the price of giving endlessly to enemies, exploiters, or even the unbalanced may be a butcher’s bill.

And that is a price that no country, no culture, and no civilization can endlessly afford to pay

Now Even Science Demonstrates Islamic Aggression

Recent DNA findings concerning Turks.

Raymond Ibrahim

Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

Along with Islamic doctrine and history, one can now add science to the list of things that demonstrate Islamic aggression.

Ancestry.com, a company that operates a network of genealogical and historical records, and provides DNA ancestry kits, recently asserted what history already knows: most of the denizens of Turkey are not Turks but rather the descendants of Christian peoples, mostly Greeks, who lived in Anatolia well over a millennium before the Turks invaded, but converted, due to Islam’s three choices (conversion, jizya/submission, or death).

As might be expected, many Turks, who tend to be zealous over their heritage, are outraged at finding that their ancestors were not conquering Turks but conquered infidels. This finding also underscores a vicious cycle I’ve discussed before: most of those Muslims who today persecute the indigenous Christians in their midst—and Turks rank among them—are themselves the descendants of Christians who converted to Islam to cease their own persecution.

One wonders how long before DNA studies reveal another, even more unflattering fact: the bloodline of conquering Muslims—Turks chief among them—is further adulterated with the blood of European concubines, sex-slaves, many millions of which were imported over the centuries by Turks, Tatars, Barbary corsairs, and various other Muslim peoples. The historical record is clear on this.

As one example, in 1438, Bartolomeo de Giano, an Italian Franciscan, witnessed the Turks’ slave raids throughout the Balkans.  From Hungary, 300,000 were enslaved and “carried off in just a few days,” he wrote; from Serbia and Transylvania 100,000 were “led away in iron fetters tied to the backs of horses. . . . [and] women and children were herded by dogs without any mercy or piety. If one of them slowed down, unable to walk further because of thirst or pain, O Good Jesus! she immediately ended her life there in torment, cut in half.”

As one historian observes, “The massive enslavement of slavic populations during this period gave rise, in fact, to our word ‘slave’: in Bartolomeo’s time, to be a slave was to be a Slav.”

Similarly, the Greek historian, Doukas (1400-1462), writes the following about the palace of Ottoman sultan Bayezid:

[T]here one could find carefully selected boys and girls, with beautiful faces, sweet young boys and girls who shone more brightly than the sun.  To what nations did they belong?  They were Byzantines [Greeks], Serbs, Wallachians, Albanians, Hungarians, Saxons, Bulgarians, and Latins….  He himself [Sultan Bayezid] unceasingly gave himself over to pleasure, to the point of exhaustion, by indulging in debauchery with these boys and girls.

Nor, as some of these passages suggest, were European slaves used only for pleasure; Muslims regularly procreated with them as well.  Even that one Turk most celebrated by Erdogan’s Turkey—Bayezid’s great-grandson, Muhammad II, the conqueror of Constantinople—was born of a Christian slave mother.  This did not change the fact that he became an avowed enemy of Christendom—the “forerunner of antichrist” as he was described.

Moreover, as DarĂo Fernández-Morera, author of The Myth of the Andalusian Paradiseexplains:

Such was the impact of Christian slaves on Islamic lands, that many of the Umayyad rulers of Islamic Spain, as the sons of sexual slaves, were blue-eyed and blond or red-haired; and the founder of the “Arabic” Nasrid dynasty of Granada was called al-Hamar, “the Red One,” because of his reddish hair and beard. … Arabist Celia del Moral observes that in Umayyad al-Andalus the most coveted and therefore expensive sexual slaves were blond and red-haired females from the Northern Christian regions.

In fact, according to the calculations of Spanish Arabist Julian Ribera, due to the constant sexual intercourse with European slave women, the genetic Arab component of each generation of Umayyad rulers was reduced by half, so that the last Umayyad, Hisham II (976-1013), was approximately only 0.09 percent Arab.

Nor was this phenomenon limited to Muslim elites—caliphs, sultans, emirs, and the like—because they could afford “well-staffed” harems.  Naturally, it is they whose doings are recorded, because it is they—the rulers, not the lay Muslim—that chroniclers recorded.  Even so, history makes clear that European sex-slaves were, depending on time and place, abundantly available to the average Muslim.

Thus we learn that the slave markets of Adrianople (Edirne), formerly the Ottoman capital, were so inundated with European flesh that children sold for pennies, “a very beautiful slave woman was exchanged for a pair of boots, and four Serbian slaves were traded for a horse.”

Similarly, considering that sixteenth century “Algiers teemed with Christian captives, and it became a common saying that a Christian slave was scarce a fair barter for an onion,” little wonder by the late eighteenth century, European observers noted how “the inhabitants of Algiers have a rather white complexion.”

Will Ancestry.com or similar organizations ever demonstrate this other unflattering fact concerning Muslim bloodlines through DNA?  Unlikely.

I’m printing the pertinent language from Pelosi’s statement, along with my comments.

The President is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and the actions he has taken.

Pelosi is referring to a White House statement on Saturday when Kabul’s fall was imminent but before it actually happened. He stated that 5,000 troops will return to Afghanistan to get Americans and favored Afghans out of the country. Since then, the U.S. Embassy has fallen and it’s placed a notice on its website stating:

The security situation in Kabul is changing quickly including at the airport.  There are reports of the airport taking fire; therefore we are instructing U.S. citizens to shelter in place.

Also, if Americans want to leave, they will face the ultimate bureaucratic insult to people looking at the possibility that they will be captured or killed by medieval Islamists: They must fill out an online form. Without it, tough luck!

U.S. citizens wanting assistance in departing the country should register for any option that might be identified to return to the United States, and must complete this Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveler in their group.  Spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens in Afghanistan who are awaiting immigrant visas should also complete this form if they wish to depart. Please do so as soon as possible.  You must complete this form even if you’ve previously submitted your information to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul.  Do not call the U.S. Embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flight. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options.

I’m sure that people sheltering in place from gunfire (with the Taliban using weapons America abandoned) are perfectly situated to go online and fill out those all-important forms.

Pelosi, though, has different priorities:

The Taliban must know that the world is watching its actions.  We are deeply concerned about reports regarding the Taliban’s brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls.  The U.S., the international community and the Afghan government must do everything we can to protect women and girls from inhumane treatment by the Taliban.

Once again, we’re seeing the administration’s bizarre belief that the Taliban care about the world’s opinion. Democrats care deeply, so much so that they govern to please “the world” before they govern to benefit Americans. The Taliban answer only to Allah, and they do so via the words of a fanatic warlord turned prophet. Those guides tell them that women exist solely to satisfy men’s lust.

Any political settlement that the Afghans pursue to avert bloodshed must include having women at the table.  The fate of women and girls in Afghanistan is critical to the future of Afghanistan.  As we strive to assist women, we must recognize that their voices are important, and all must listen to them for solutions, respectful of their culture.  There is bipartisan support to assist the women and girls of Afghanistan.  One of the successes of U.S.- NATO cooperation in Afghanistan was the progress made by women and girls.  We must all continue to work together to ensure that is not eroded.

The Taliban don’t need a “political settlement.” They’ve won the war. As for bloodshed, they’re all in. As women and little girls are turned into sex slaves, I’m sure they’ll appreciate that Pelosi wants the Taliban to “listen to them for solutions,” all while the West is “respectful of their culture.” Defying all facts and logic, Pelosi has this delusional belief that there is some sort of gentlemanly agreement to be had with the Taliban, by which they swear to abandon the Koran’s mandates about women.

Our political leaders are clowns. They’re not even fun or funny clowns. They’re nightmare clowns from a horror movie. But this is no movie and real people will die and suffer in Afghanistan. And with radical Islam again on the move (and very successfully so), I worry that lots of us are going to die soon. I think it’s time to reinstate full security at iconic American locations that make ripe targets for terrorists.

Reflections on Kurt Westergaard and Sharia Speech Suppression

The power of a cartoonist's pencil.

Among 12 caricatures of Islam’s prophet Muhammad published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten on September 30, 2005, “it was Westergaard’s image that would change my life,” the paper’s cultural editor Flemming Rose wrote. As he detailed in his 2014 bookThe Tyranny of Silence: How One Cartoon Ignited a Global Debate on the Future of Free SpeechKurt Westergaard, who died July 14, ignited a firestorm over the right to criticize Islam.

“I am not by nature a provocative person,” Rose related, despite a “global view of me as a dangerous and irresponsible troublemaker” for his role in unleashing what became known as the Cartoon Crisis. He had solicited cartoons of Muhammad in order to examine self-censorship and intimidation after Rose became aware of the difficulties confronting a Danish author who struggled to find illustrators willing to depict Muhammad in a children’s book. Almost immediately after publication, the Cartoon Crisis “spiraled into a violent international uproar, as Muslims around the world erupted in protest. Danish embassies were attacked, and more than 200 deaths were attributed to the protests.”

Muslim anger fixated on Westergaard’s drawing of Muhammad with a bomb in his turban, something that for him began innocently enough. As Rose recalled, this “drawing was done on September 21, 2005, the same day that [Westergaard] and other members of the Danish cartoonists’ society received my letter inviting them to depict Muhammad.” Westergaard remembered:

The idea came to me immediately. The bomb is an age-old symbol of terrorism, and I thought if I use the Arabic inscription from the Islamic creed I’d be able to make the point clear that Islam is the terrorists’ spiritual ammunition….It took maybe an hour, all told. It was just another day at the office, really.

No stranger to controversy over his political cartoons, Westergaard merely felt that “I did a job. I’m entitled to my opinion, and what I expressed in the drawing is true.” Rose noted that Westergaard had been an equal opportunity offender of others, including Christians and the Jewish state of Israel. A previous Westergaard cartoon had “showed the Star of David with a bomb attached to it—reminiscent now of his depiction of Muhammad in 2005,” Rose noted.

Maria Gomez agreed with Westergaard that the “drawing expressed how I felt inside my heart. It represented a piece of reality.” This Spanish woman lost her husband in the March 11, 2004, bombing of Madrid commuter trains by an Al-Qaeda cell. She later appeared at the 2007 trial of the bombers wearing a T-shirt with Westergaard’s Muhammad caricature, only to be told by the trial judge that her shirt was prejudicial to the trial proceedings.

“After the attack, Maria developed a deeper interest in Islam,” Rose unsurprisingly observed. “When she was a child, her grandfather had been concerned about immigration into Spain from North Africa and the Middle East, and he had often told her about Spain’s long history with Islam.” This historic subjugation only made Gomez identify more with Westergaard’s drawing.

Analyzing this identification, Rose observed that the “glorification of Muhammad among Muslims may be perceived as offensive to those whose kin have been killed in Muhammad’s name.” For Gomez, a “group of Muslims had murdered her husband and destroyed her life.” “Should it not be considered a mark of civilization that in the face of barbaric violence, we respond only with a cartoonist’s pencil and a T-stint?” Rose contrasted.

Not all Muslims agreed, and Rose, Westergaard, and the Jyllands-Posten received numerous threats after 2005. From 2007 on, Westergaard lived under police protection, which saved his life on New Year’s Day 2010. A Somali man linked to al-Shabab terrorists broke into Westergaard’s home while he was there with his five-year-old granddaughter and almost stabbed him to death before he was able to flee to a previously installed safe room and call the police.

These threats took numerous tolls on Westergaard’s liberty. For example, he resigned his Jyllands-Posten freelance position in summer 2010 in order to spare his colleagues concerns for their safety, and the “attack so alarmed Westergaard’s hairdresser that she refused to cut his hair,” Rose noted. Yet Westergaard remained resolute, stating, “I’m an atheist, and I can only say that the reactions to my drawing have made me stronger in my faith.”

As Rose extensively documents, many other creative individuals have drawn a hypocritical line at offending Muslims, even though otherwise the “breaking of taboos is considered to be progressive.” “Examples of self-censorship, intimidation, and pressure exerted by governments and interest groups on free speech were legion, both before and after we published the cartoons,” he noted. The late American writer and free speech advocate Nat Hentoff described in the book’s forward a “growing amount of self-censorship among individuals and societies confronted by highly-combative cultures that allow no criticism of their sacred beliefs.”

The reaction of Danish public figures, European Union (EU) leaders, and United Nations (UN) officials during the Cartoon Crisis particularly disgusted Rose. Their pandering to Muslim representatives recalled the “fawning Danish media’s appeasement of the Nazis” in Denmark’s powerful neighbor Germany during the 1930s. “And how did the EU respond to that challenge to its fundamental values? Basically, it left Denmark high and dry,” Rose lamented.

This appeasement played into longstanding ambitions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a grouping of 56 Muslim-majority nations, to suppress criticism of Islam globally. “The OIC has learned to adapt its demands to modern human rights jargon. It no longer demands the protection of Islam as such. Instead, it pleads protection of Muslims,” Rose wrote. Within this scheme, “Islamophobia” is an “ambiguous concept that had wormed its way into UN documents, covering a hodgepodge of legitimate criticism of religion and illegitimate discrimination against Muslims.”

The OIC thus joined in the chorus of those who accused that Jyllands-Posten had with the cartoons “misused its right to free speech to step on a group generally held in low esteem and often kicked around by the media,” Rose noted. These charges often invoked the “nonsense” that Europe’s Muslims had a position equivalent to the Jews in the 1930s in the face of rising Nazism. Some even suggested prosecuting Jyllands-Posten under Danish blasphemy or hate speech laws.

Such laws in Denmark and elsewhere made Rose worry that the “lack of a universally accepted definition of ‘hatred’ in international law” threatens free speech. Indeed, “intolerance and hatred toward others may, in many contexts, be quite legitimate emotions,” he noted. This includes Muslims and others “who commit violence, oppress women, persecute homosexuals, or indeed in any number of contexts involving gross injustice and abuse of power.”

Dissidents from Muslim backgrounds joined Rose in challenging the narrative of Jyllands-Posten and other critical voices as victimizers of Muslims, such as Maryam Namazie, an Iranian-born Marxist in the United Kingdom. “I don’t think women who are stoned to death would see those responsible for their deaths as representatives of a persecuted and oppressed minority,” stated this woman who experienced Islamic theocracy’s rise to power in Iran in 1979. “People are slaughtered in the name of religion by Islamic governments and movements,” she added.

Namazie’s fellow Iranian Ă©migrĂ©, University of Leiden law professor Afshin Ellian, meanwhile noted that “Muslims in Europe are a powerful minority with representatives in European parliaments and governments.” His fellow immigrant to Holland, the Somalia-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali, also doubted that questioning Islam harmed Muslims. This ex-Muslim atheist noted that many of Europe’s disadvantaged Muslims, “who live in ghettos in Europe, are being brainwashed with totalitarian doctrine” promoted by a “rich oil state” such as Saudi Arabia.

Ali and others reminded Rose, who met his Russian wife during his many years as a foreign correspondent in the Soviet Union, of the human rights struggle under Communism. “A line of continuity runs from Eastern Bloc dissidence through the triumph of freedom in the Soviet Union in 1989—1991 to the struggle for civil rights that is going on today” against a “new totalitarian movement based on Islam,” he noted. “Freethinking forces exist in the Islamic world, insisting on free religious exercise and freedom of speech,” such as the Iranians who emailed Rose in support of the cartoons’ publication.

Rose’s experience has given him the insight that “no fundamental distinction exists between offending the feelings of communists or Muslims.” He noted Politburo archives released after the Cold War that revealed the anger of Soviet leaders towards Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the Russian dissident whose multivolume Gulag Archipelago in the 1970s exposed Soviet tyranny. The denunciations of him by “communist high priests were riddled with religious metaphor.”

Rose accurately concluded that the Cartoon Crisis was “about how to coexist in a world in which old boundaries have crumbled.” Modern technology and immigration have created a globalized world where “societies everywhere are becoming more multiethnic, multicultural, and multireligious.” Thus “if freedom and tolerance are to have a chance of surviving in the new world, we all need to develop thicker skin.”

More speech, not less, was Rose’s answer to inevitable culture clashes. “Words are a democracy’s way of dealing with conflict,” he noted. In reality, the “violence, destruction, and killings that occurred during the Cartoon Crisis took place in countries without freedom of speech and religion” such as Nigeria.

Rose admired how “freedom of speech enjoys a hallowed status in the United States.” Here in modern times racism had subsided precisely as free speech legal standards had liberalized. This “undermines those who in Europe insist on a causal link between legalization of hate speech on the one hand and racist violence and killings on the other.”

Similarly, the “widely touted claim that hate speech against the Jews was a primary cause of the Holocaust has no empirical support,” Rose noted. Weimar Republic authorities prosecuted numerous Nazi leaders under hate speech laws. Yet these legal processes merely offered Nazis a “glorious opportunity to bait the Jewish community in the bully pulpit of the court.”

Yet free speech advocate and lawyer Deborah Weiss, who met both Rose and Westergaard in the course of her work, understands how often isolated their views are. She observed in a recent conversation that free speech has only become more imperiled in the years since Westergaard’s cartoon. All the more reason to return to Rose’s arguments about the late Westergaard’s legacy.

A prayer to Allah to “destroy the enemies of Islam, and annihilate the heretics and the atheists” is not just a request directed to the deity. The Qur’an explicitly says that Allah will punish people by the hands of the believers: “Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people, and remove the fury in the believers’ hearts.” (9:14-15) Thus Kathrada may be issuing a call to action to believers who think it incumbent upon themselves to heed this Qur’anic directive and become instruments of Allah’s wrath.

California Jihadi Planned to Kill People, Then Read Qur’an Until Police Arrived

Not that this has anything to do with Islam.

Yet another blow to the establishment media narrative came Wednesday. The Associated Press reported that Faisal Mohammad, who in 2015 stabbed four people in a classroom at the University of California, Merced, where he was a freshman, “planned to praise Allah while slitting the throats of classmates and use a gun taken from an ambushed officer to kill more.” Then he planned to call 911 to report the killings, “read the Quran until he heard sirens, and then ‘take calm shot after shot’ with the gun” when the police arrived. All this happened while the U.S. government was institutionally and thoroughgoingly committed to the proposition that Islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion that has nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism. And even after four years of President Trump, that institutional culture hasn’t changed.

The detailed plan that Mohammad sketched out for his attack has just been released; it “included putting on a balaclava at 7:45 a.m. and saying ‘in the name of Allah’ before stepping into his classroom and ordering students to use zip-ties he provided to bind their hands. Mohammad also planned to make a fake 911 distress call to report a suicidal guy [sic; this is how they write at AP these days] and wait for police outside the classroom before ambushing from behind ‘and slit calmly yet forcefully one of the officers with guns.’”

It was during that wait that he planned to sit down and spend some time in spiritual reading. Yet Mohammad’s attack, as The College Fix reported back in November 2015, was characterized as “revenge for being kicked out of a study group.” The establishment media gave scant attention to the fact that “Mohammad was found to have an image of the ISIS flag, a handwritten manifesto with instructions on how to behead someone, and reminders to pray to Allah.”

The university where this jihad attack took place was even worse. The College Fix reported that instead of waking up to the reality of Islamic jihad, many at the University of California-Merced mourned for the attacker, with a Facebook “R.I.P” tribute to Faisal Mohammad “gaining massive support among the campus community.”

Even worse, UC Merced faculty hosted a “teach in” that about 200 students attented, entitled “Don’t Turn Our Tragedy Into Hate” that was “conspicuously devoid of discussions of radical Islam, and instead delved into topics such as how society’s notions of masculinity pressure men.” Among the topics discussed at this “teach in” were “What does mental health have to do with this?”; “Why are men more likely to be perpetrators of violence?”; “How do we define our community – what lives are grievable?”; and “What do race and religion have to do with this?”

One speaker suggested that the attack was all about men not being allowed to be weak, self-centered, weepy narcissists: “Anger, that is really what we think about when we think about emotional men. They are subject to social sanctions if they deviate from masculinity. If you are perceived as failing at it, you are subject to being called a fag, a pussy, a wimp, pretty much what women are, right? So when you have this limited ability to sort of express your emotions and possible feelings of emasculation, of low self esteem, how do you really [deal with] that? A lot of times they … engage in violence. They need to compensate for their loss of masculinity in the most manly way they have access to, and unfortunately, a lot of times that’s violence.”

Yes, you see? Faisal Mohammad stabbed four people just because he was a sensitive soul in a world that was too harsh for him. Why, what other explanation could there possibly be? According to one student who attended the teach in, “‘Islamophobia’ was cited as the reason people want to call it a terrorist attack….‘People were quick to sympathize with the attacker and assume anyone who thought this was related to radical Islam was a xenophobic racist.’”

The University of California Merced is no different from any other campus all over the country today: full of indoctrinated bots who have been thoroughly imbued with the notion that when Islamic jihadists attack us, it is our fault. All too many even among law enforcement and counterterrorism officials assume the same thing. No number of Faisal Mohammads, and there will be many more, will convince them otherwise. Nonetheless, it is unfortunate but true that eventually all this denial and willful ignorance is going to blow up in everyone’s face. We can only hope that this doesn’t happen literally.
