(CNSNews.com) - With at least 2 million people projected to cross illegally into the United States this Fiscal Year, the U.S.-Mexico border is open to anyone who wants to walk in and claim asylum; or sneak in and disappear before overwhelmed border agents can stop them.

But according to Vice President Kamala Harris, "The border is secure."

She said it twice on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday: "We have a secure border, in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration. But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix, given the deterioration that happened over the last four years."

On Tuesday, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, "How is the border secure?"

"So, we see record seizures of fentanyl at the border, show we’re actually catching fentanyl before it enters the country.  So that’s how we see that," Jean-Pierre said:

"Look, as far as the border, we’re taking unprecedented action. We had to fix something that was broken, especially by the last administration. We’ve secured record levels — this is what we have been able to do — of funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

"Remember, many Republicans voted against that. Many of them who would like to invite me to the border have actually voted against that. We’ve made over 3,000 arrests as part of a first-of-its-kind anti-smuggling campaign.  We’ve installed border technology and set up — set up joint patrols with Mexico and Guatemala to catch traffickers.

"We’ve got Mexico to agree to pay $1.5 billion to improve border processing and security through smart, proven border management solutions.  And the President brought 20 world leaders together to collectively manage migration flows across the Western Hemisphere.

"Compare that to the Trump administration, which largely just tried to build a wall — an ineffective wall — along the border and couldn’t even finish that in four years. We’re certainly doing a lot more to secure the border and could be doing even more if Republicans would stop their obstruction."

The numbers tell the story of how "secure" the wide-open border is.

The chart below shows how President Trump's policies, including "remain in Mexico," discouraged illegal immigration, which has escalated month by month to record levels under Joe Biden.

Exclusive— Joe Lombardo: Biden’s Open Border, ‘Sisolak’s Soft-on-Crime Policies’ to Blame for Rising Fentanyl Deaths

Fentanyl deaths and drug trafficking are on the rise in Nevada, largely due to President Joe Biden’s open border and Democrat Gov. Steve Sisolak’s “soft-on-crime” policies, Republican gubernatorial candidate Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told Breitbart News.

“As sheriff, I see the disastrous impact of Biden’s open border policies every single day. Joe Biden’s chaos at the border and Steve Sisolak’s soft-on-crime policies have emboldened drug traffickers and criminals who wish to do harm to our community. Nevadans are paying the price of Biden and Sisolak’s decisions,” Lombardo said.

In July alone, 2,071 pounds of fentanyl were seized nationwide, which is the equivalent of 469 million lethal doses. Last week, Nevada State Police seized 56 pounds of suspected fentanyl in Ely, and similar stories are popping up around the state. Just two milligrams of fentanyl is considered a deadly dose — “a size so small it could fit on the tip of a pen,” according to the Department of Justice.

Fentanyl is primarily manufactured in China before being flown into Mexico where the Mexican drug cartels then traffic the drug into American communities via the nation’s porous southern border. Lombardo’s campaign noted that while Biden’s “disastrous open border policies have made it easier for drug traffickers to bring drugs into the country, Steve Sisolak has made it easier for drug dealers and traffickers to operate in Nevada.”

“In 2019, Sisolak raised the substance amount required for a low-level drug trafficking charge by 2400 percent, from 4 grams to 100 grams. Sisolak also increased the substance amount for a high-level trafficking charge from 28 grams to 400 grams, a 1,328 percent increase – giving drug dealers and traffickers a huge break. Since 2019, trafficking charges with a weight of 100 grams or more have increased over 1,000 percent,” said Elizabeth Ray, Lombardo’s campaign spokesperson.

Breitbart News reached out to representatives for Sisolak and asked what he is doing to fight the fentanyl crisis and if he would like to respond to Lombardo’s accusations. He did not respond by the time of publication.

Numerous stories from local Nevada news outlets have begun to detail spikes in fentanyl deaths among young people and within the Hispanic community, which makes up 30 percent of the state’s population. In August of 2022, the Southern Nevada Health District reported that “fentanyl continues to be a significant public health concern in Clark County and is driving the increase in opioid-related deaths.” Clark County, the nation’s 14th-largest county, accounts for 70 percent of the state and includes Las Vegas.

“In 2021, there have been 619 drug overdose deaths among Clark County residents. Of these deaths opioids (prescription and illicit) accounted for 59.5 percent. Meanwhile, drug overdose deaths in Clark County increased 48.1 percent from 2019, whereas opioid-related deaths in Clark County increased by 56.6 percent in 2021. In 2021, the overdose death rate was highest in the 89101 ZIP code at 103.4 overdose deaths per 100,000 residents,” according to the Health District.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that nationwide overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids other than methadone, which includes fentanyl and fentanyl analogs, increased over 56 percent from 2019 to 2020. The number of overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids in 2020 was more than 18 times the number in 2013. Breitbart News’s John Binder noted in April that “four times as much fentanyl is flowing across the United States-Mexico border under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior when former President Trump was in office.”

Lombardo’s campaign said if he ousts vulnerable incumbent Steve Sisolak in November, he would add Nevada to the American Governors’ Border Strike Force, “which is an unprecedented partnership created by 26 Republican governors to target cartels and criminals seeking to take advantage of Biden’s border chaos.”

“As governor, Sheriff Lombardo is committed to reversing Sisolak’s disastrous soft-on-crime policies, which have undoubtedly contributed to the increase in fentanyl deaths in Nevada,” his campaign concluded.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Single Group of Nearly 600 Migrants Cross into Texas Border Town

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Over the course of an hour, a single group of nearly 600 migrants managed to cross the Rio Grande and surrender to Border Patrol agents. On Friday morning, the group of mostly single adult Venezuelan, Cuban, and Nicaraguan migrants were quickly sorted by nationality, gender, and family unit status. As buses arrived to transport the migrants to a nearby processing center, agents provided water and took basic biographical data from the migrants.

In what has become a daily routine, migrants stood in line waiting their turn to leave a rally point near a busy highway hoping to be released into the United States to pursue asylum claims. According to Border Patrol agents on the scene, the migrants are not amenable to swift return to Mexico under the CDC’s Emergency Title 42 COVID-19 authority due to their nationality. The group, according to the agents, will likely be released to the care of a non-government shelter where transportation to the interior of the United States will be coordinated.

This group of migrants adds to the more than 800 migrants crossing the Rio Grande in just three hours on Thursday. On Thursday morning, the largest of just two migrant groups making landfall was more than 500.

As Breitbart Texas looked on, the migrants smiled and waved signaling their enthusiasm at reaching the United States. Women and the few families with small children were escorted to the first transportation buses to arrive.

According to a source within CBP, the Border Patrol in Del Rio Sector was detaining more than 2,000 migrants in local stations and at a soft sided detention facility. The source says the pace of crossings is contributing to severe overcrowding. The source says areas reserved for recreation and outdoor activities are now being used to house the migrants as they await processing.

TX Border Sheriff: ‘Haven’t Seen Anything’ to Stop ‘Wave’ at Border, and Northern Cities ‘Will See It Eventually’

1:50

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Maverick County, TX Sheriff Tom Schmerber said he hasn’t “seen anything that would stop this immigration problem coming through to the USA.” And that there is a “wave” of people coming through who “want to keep on going north. So, they will see it eventually. This wave’s going up in there in the north.”

Schmerber stated, “When it started, when I saw this problem, I was saying that it might go two years. We’re almost on the one-year period. And I’m thinking it’s going to be the second year going with this problem. Because I haven’t seen anything that would stop this immigration problem coming through to the USA. I worked with the Border Patrol, I retired from the Border Patrol and I have never seen something like this. Once in a while, I would see some kind of a — every time there was a change in administration over there in D.C., Washington D.C., we had a little problem, but would stop it right away. This is not happening right now.”

After the discussion turned to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) busing migrants, Schmerber said, “Well, I think, there [are] two ways of me thinking. One would be, yes, he’s doing that so that people up north will see the problem that we have here over here. I mean, that’s — I see like, the northern states, they’re very comfortable. They don’t have — they don’t see these problems over here. But I do want to tell them that this is a wave. This is a wave…they want to keep on going north. So, they will see it eventually. This wave’s going up in there in the north. And hopefully, it’s not too late for them to try to control something.”

Ron Johnson: Obama Said Border Had a ‘Crisis’ When Numbers Were Less than 1/3 of What They Are Now

1:36

On Monday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) reacted to Vice President Kamala Harris maintaining the border is secure by pointing out that back in June 2014, then-President Barack Obama said there was a “humanitarian crisis” on the border when there were approximately 2,000 apprehensions per day on the southwest border, compared to the between 6,000 and 7,000 encounters per day at the border over the past two months.

Johnson said, “[T]he governors in the southwestern states there are dealing with about 7,000 people per day that they’re encountering, and because of the Biden administration’s open-border policy, processing and dispersing all around this country.”

He added, “Well, the Vice President, the president, and Secretary Mayorkas are as detached from reality as they are from the truth. The fact of the matter is that this is a crisis. Again, 7,000 people — President Obama declared it a crisis — a humanitarian crisis when it was 2,000 people a day. But what they consider a success is processing and dispersing within eight hours. They just got very efficient at processing and dispersing to all points of America, and it’s all okay. Unless they come to Democrat-controlled cities, then it’s a problem again. So, again, the hypocrisy is just jaw-dropping.”

Vice President Harris: 'The Border Is Secure'

(CNSNew.com) - Chuck Todd, host of NBC's "Meet the Press," asked Vice President Kamala Harris in recorded interview on Friday: "Since we're here in Texas, I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?"

Harris said it was. She said:

"I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed," Harris replied.

Todd pushed back: "We're going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You're confident this border's secure?" he asked Harris.

"We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration. But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years," Harris said.

"We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship. We don't have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this and in Congress.

"By the way, you want to talk about bipartisanship on an issue that at one time was a bipartisan issue both in terms of Republican senators and even presidents."

Todd then asked Harris why the current labor shortage -- so many unfilled jobs -- is not the "motivating force to get something done" on immigration reform:

"I do believe that, for all reasonable people, all reasonable people are motivated and desirous that we would get something done," Harris said:

"I think a big part of the problem, though, is that there's been political gamesmanship with this issue suggesting that it's a zero sum game. If you want to deal with the issue, there are practical solutions, which include creating a pathway to citizenship, fixing a broken immigration system, dealing with the root causes of why people are fleeing their home when most people don't want to leave home.

"And if they do, it's usually because they're fleeing some harm, or they simply can't take care of their basic needs if they stay. There are solutions. And sadly, this has become such a partisan issue, instead of something where we work on it together, agreeing that what we're doing is not working as a nation. It's not working."

Todd's recorded interview with Harris was played Sunday on "Meet the Press."

Shortly after taking office, President Biden directed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the administration’s diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Little has happened since then.

Neither Harris nor President Biden have witnessed the daily flood of foreigners streaming illegally over the southwest border, although Harris did visit an immigration processing Center in El Paso, Texas in June 2021.

Far from discouraging illegal immigration, the Biden administration has rescinded Trump-era policies, including "remain in Mexico," that successfully reduced the number of illegal crossings.

Joe Biden Asks Congress for $ Billions More to Fund His Catch-and-Release Network

The White House is asking Congress for another $5 billion to bus, fly, and house the southern flood of economic migrants into Americans’ workplaces and housing.

Any additional funding will accelerate the federal “cheap labor distribution [network] that too many politicians in Washington are willing to participate in,” said John Feere, a former homeland security official. He now works for the Center for Immigration Studies.

The inflow of workers, renters, and consumers “benefits groups on both sides of the border — governments, human smuggling operations, and businesses,” he told Breitbart News.

The request is part of a budget request — a “Short-term Continuing Resolution” — sent by the White House to Congress. The document asks Congress to spend billions of dollars on Democratic priorities, including $11.7 billion for Ukraine and more funds to run the federal government’s off-the-books migration network.

For example, the document asks for extra funding for the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, the Emergency Food and Shelter grant program, and the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) of 2008.

The statement asks for $1.8 billion to fund the TVPRA, which relays young migrants from their cartel-backed coyote guides at the border to federal agencies. The agencies then operate the North-side migration network and deliver the migrants for free to their illegal-migrant parents, “sponsors,” and employers throughout the United States:

Language is needed to appropriate $1.8 billion to the Department of Health and Human Services for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Refugee and Entrant Assistance account for the Unaccompanied Children program, Transitional and Medical Services program, and Refugee Support Services program. Without this anomaly, ORR will not have sufficient resources to care for or place additional unaccompanied children in shelters during the period of the CR, or to provide cash, medical assistance, and support services to humanitarian entrants, particularly in response to the increased number of Cuban entrants

This request would provide $2.9 billion to the Disaster Relief Fund in the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency to address ongoing and anticipated disaster response costs.

Since Biden’s inauguration, his deputies have allowed at least 3 million migrants to cross the southern border in search of jobs and housing.

That huge economic shock — when combined with the inflow of legal immigrants and visa workers — has delivered roughly one migrant for every two Americans who turned 18 in 2021 and 2022. In turn, that huge foreign inflow helps to reduce Americans’ wages and workplace automation and to inflate their housing costs — while steering more wealth to coastal investors.

Migrants, mostly from Nicaragua, cross the Rio Grande River into the U.S., in Eagle Pass, Texas, Friday, May 20, 2022. The Eagle Pass area has become an increasingly popular crossing corridor for migrants, especially those from outside Mexico and Central America, under Title 42 authority, which expels migrants without a chance to seek asylum on grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19. Pandemic-related restrictions on migrants seeking asylum on the southern border must continue, a judge ruled in an order blocking the Biden administration's plan to lift them early next week. Much of the inflow has been funded by quietly transferring money from other federal programs to fund the buses and non-profit shelters that are used by officials to smuggle migrants northwards. The money is often given to nonprofits to run portions of the government’s migrant network. In May, Politico reported:

The redirected funds include $850 million that Congress originally allocated to rebuild the nation’s Strategic National Stockpile, the emergency medical reserve strained by the Covid-19 response. Another $850 million is being taken from a pot intended to help expand coronavirus testing, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

“The mass influx of illegal immigrants is creating extra costs on state and local levels, and the Democrats are hearing a lot of complaints from Democrat city officials,” Feere said. “Democrats have likely calculated that providing increased taxpayer monies to these local politicians is one way to keep them quiet about this administration’s ongoing effort to encourage illegal immigration,” he added.

For example, the Hill played up the Democrat’s claims that economic problems caused by Biden’s migration are the fault of Republicans who oppose the migration:

A group of House Democrats on Friday called on Congress to provide $50 million in federal funding to house and feed migrants bused to northern cities from Texas and Arizona.

“Instead of helping forge immigration solutions that work for Texas and the country, Gov. Abbott’s stunts are costly, ineffective, distracting and dangerous. They’re meant to create headlines and whip up resentment from the MAGA base rather than create good policy or advance the best interests of Texans, let alone immigrants and asylum seekers,” said Mario Carrillo, campaigns director for America’s Voice, a progressive immigration advocacy group.

The Democrats prefer to blame the GOP governors of Texas and Arizona for the flood of migrants who have been invited and admitted by President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief:

Since mid-April, the governors of Texas and Arizona have exploited and harmed approximately 10,000 vulnerable people fleeing desperate and dangerous situations in their home countries for political gain by busing them to D.C., New York City and Chicago.

The narrative-promoting article was written by Rafael Bernal, a recent immigrant who has covered migration, and corporate priorities issues for several years.

“The problem for the GOP is that they haven’t pushed back on the funding of open-border NGOs,” said Feere.

GOP legislators tend to remain passive as Biden’s deputies welcome, transport, and integrate economic migrants into Americans’ society, he said.

They haven’t demanded an increase in funding for [border enforcement] for example … The GOP needs to be focusing its energy on increasing resources for federal law enforcement if they wish to see illegal immigration curtailed. But it feels way too often as if the GOP is simply letting the mass immigration crowd get whatever they want.

There’s no doubt that well-moneyed interests are pressuring both political parties to keep cheap labor flowing into the United States. Of course, a number of Republican politicians are buying into this argument — that there’s a lack of labor and that the only fix is a massive increase in foreign labor and amnesty.

In reality, there’s no lack of labor. And the politician should be telling these business owners that they need to start offering better wages and improve working conditions to attract lawful residents to these jobs. They could invest in automation, which we’re seeing in a number of industries. But that requires an upfront cost and there’s little incentive for businesses to invest in automation when the federal government continues to deliver a dependent labor force.

The budget request is likely to get some support from Republicans.

They include Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), retiring Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), and threatened Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). The spending plan is also backed by pro-migration House Republicans, including Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), Fred Upton (R-MI), Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Jenniffer Aydin González Colón (R-PR), and John Curtis (R-UT).

Many polls show the public wants to welcome some immigration. But the polls also show deep and broad public opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs needed by U.S. graduates.

This “Third Rail” opposition to the government’s extraction migration policy is growinganti-establishmentmultiracialcross-sexnon-racist, and class-based. The opposition is bipartisanrationalpersistent, and recognizes the solidarity that American citizens owe to one another.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Del Rio, Texas, seized more than 1,300 pounds of methamphetamine being smuggled across the port of entry from Mexico into Texas on Labor Day. The drugs represent the largest seizure of methamphetamine in the history of the Del Rio Port of Entry.

CBP officers working the Del Rio International Bridge on Labor Day observed a 2016 Kenworth tractor hauling a shipment of diesel tank reservoir containers approaching from Mexico for entry into the United States, according to information obtained from CBP officials. The officers referred the driver to a secondary inspection area where for inspection by a K-9 team and a non-intrusive system.

During the search, the officers found 320 packages suspected of containing drugs. The 1,337 pounds tested positive as being methamphetamine, officials stated.

Officials estimate the value of the drugs at $11.9 million.

“This is a massive seizure of methamphetamine, it is (the) largest in the history of the port and it reflects the steadfast commitment of our officers to the CBP border security mission and their effective application of technology, training, and experience,” Port Director Liliana Flores, Del Rio Port of Entry said in a written statement.

J.D. Vance: Tim Ryan Claims to Back ‘The Working Man’ But Has No Plan to Secure Border, Tackle Fentanyl Crisis

J.D. Vance, the Republican running against Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) for Ohio’s open United States Senate seat, said recently on the campaign trail the impact of drugs and migration is “hugely negative” for Ohioans.

Vance, during his Wednesday appearance on Fox News Channel’s Mornings With Maria Bartiromo, spoke about the impact of an open U.S.-Mexico border, which has resulted in nearly five million border crossers and illegal aliens arriving since President Joe Biden took office and now more than 100,000 Americans dying annually from drug overdoses, many linked to fentanyl.

“This is one of the things that really bothers me about Tim Ryan. He says he stands for the working man,” Vance said, explaining that it is also “hugely negative” for Ohioans.

Vance noted that the millions of illegal aliens crossing the southern border under Biden are flooding the U.S. labor market, driving down wages, and forcing working class Americans to compete against a growing number of foreign workers for American jobs.

Ohio, Vance said, also remains the “third leading state when it comes to opioid overdose deaths.”

“Let’s actually secure the border so that we don’t have 100,000 Americans dying of fentanyl overdoses,” Vance said:

Joe Biden and Tim Ryan have basically turned the U.S. southern border into the drug and sex trafficking capital of the world. We have got to shut this down. We can’t run away from the border issue because it’s making our country poor. [Emphasis added]

Indeed, while multinational corporates, Wall Street, and real estate investors are the biggest beneficiaries of mass immigration to the U.S., working and middle class Americans suffer the most as wages are dragged down, the job market gets more saturated, and investment shifts increasingly to the coasts outside of middle American states like Ohio.

Corporate special interest groups, lobbying for an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, have shown that such a plan drives tens of billions in investment to coastal states like New York and California while further gutting middle American states.

San Diego: Fentanyl Seizures Up 323%, Overdose Deaths Up 2,375%

By Michael W. Chapman | September 8, 2022 | 12:52pm EDT

(CNS News) -- San Diego and Imperial County comprise the epicenter of fentanyl drug trafficking in the United States, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ), which reported that seizures of fentanyl in San Diego were up 323% in FY2019-FY2021 and that fentanyl overdose deaths increased 2,375% in San Diego County between 2016 and 2021.

“A decade ago, we didn’t even know about fentanyl, and now it’s a national crisis,” said U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California Randy Grossman. “The amount of fentanyl we are seizing at the border is staggering. The number of fentanyl seizures and fentanyl-related deaths in our district are unprecedented.”

More fentanyl is seized in San Diego and Imperial County than in any of the 300-plus ports of entry into the U.S., said Grossman's office in a press release.

In the firsts nine months of FY2022 (October 2021-June 2022) Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) captured 5,091 pounds of fentanyl. That "amounts to about 60 percent of the 8,425 pounds of fentanyl seized around the entire country," said the DOJ.

According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, "Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine.  Just two milligrams of fentanyl, which is equal to 10-15 grains of table salt, is considered a lethal dose.  Without laboratory testing, there is no way to know how much fentanyl is concentrated in a pill or powder."

In San Diego, the CBP said fentanyl seizures went up 323% in the last three years, "from just 1,599 pounds in FY 2019 to 6,767 in FY 2021."

In addition, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said that "fentanyl-related overdose deaths have increased 2,375 percent in San Diego County, from 33 in 2016 to at least 817 in 2021," according to the DOJ.

The DOJ also reported that Mexican drug cartels are heavily involved in fentanyl manufacturing and trafficking in the U.S., and that much of the precursor chemicals needed to make fentanyl come from Communist China.

“Fentanyl is an extremely dangerous narcotic that kills indiscriminately,” said HSI San Diego Special Agent in Charge Chad Plantz. “Fentanyl is not the type of drug you experiment with, and it is only a matter of time before drug users consume a fatal dose. This deadly drug does not discriminate nor do the transnational criminal organizations (TCO) who smuggle this dangerous drug."

These organizations "have no regard for the lives taken and the violence created by this illegal enterprise," said Plantz. "We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners and prioritize investigations targeting the drug cartels who are smuggling fentanyl into the United States and bring to justice any organization or individuals who seek to profit off the sale of this dangerous narcotic.”

Grossman's office explained that its is focused on prosecution of the criminals trafficking in fentanyl and prevention for the people tempted to partake in drug use.

“We continue to work with our law enforcement partners to pursue justice for the victims who die as a result of fentanyl trafficking and to prosecute the people responsible for this crisis," said Grossman, "from the Mexican drug cartel leadership, to the couriers, to the street dealers who distribute the fatal doses."

He added that in the Southern District of California over the last five years there has been a 1,600% increase in prosecutions of people engaged in fentanyl-related crimes.

Heroin is not produced in the United States. Every gram of heroin present in the United States provides unequivocal evidence of a failure of border security because every gram of heroin was smuggled into the United States. Indeed, this is precisely a point that Attorney General Jeff Sessions made during his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on October 18, 2017 when he again raised the need to secure the U.S./Mexican border to protect American lives.”

From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.”

Likewise, the Biden-Harris plan for national immigration policy — which seeks to drive up legal and illegal immigration levels to their highest levels in decades — offers a flooded labor market with low wages for U.S. workers and increased bargaining power for big business that has long been supported by Wall Street.                                                                      JOHN BINDER

These so-called undocumented immigrants are becoming legally indistinguishable from citizens as they openly reside in 500 sanctuary jurisdictions, receive welfare, education and medical care, are granted drivers licenses, and given tuition breaks at public universities as they, not legal immigrants or American citizens, are exempt from federal immigration, health and travel laws.

Biden Admin Is Placing Vending Machines Filled With Drug Supplies in Rural Kentucky

$3.6 million project will distribute syringes to country's overdose 'epicenter'

The Biden administration is set to spend $3.6 million to deploy vending machines filled with drug supplies in rural Kentucky—an effort the Biden administration claims will reduce stigma for drug users.

The project from the National Institutes of Health was launched in August and will study the effectiveness of "harm reduction kiosks" in rural Appalachia that contain "injection equipment, naloxone, fentanyl test strips, hygiene kits, condoms, and other supplies." The vending machines allow drug users to obtain items such as syringes without interacting with a health professional, in hopes of eliminating the "stigma" that comes with visiting an in-person harm reduction facility, according to the health agency.

The White House referenced the project in an August 31 press release on its actions taken "to address addiction and the overdose epidemic." The administration has adopted a wide range of harm reduction policies, which aim to make illicit drug use safer rather than eliminate it.

The Washington Free Beacon in February reported that the Department of Health and Human Services was set to fund the distribution of crack pipes through a $30 million harm reduction grant program. The administration backed off the funding plans amid public backlash, and the New York Times reported that the uproar over plans to fund crack pipes "derailed" Biden's drug policy agenda. The White House, however, still appears willing to adopt controversial harm reduction policies—the New York Times reported in July that Biden's drug czar Dr. Rahul Gupta was supportive of legalized injection sites, which allow users to take drugs with supervision from health professionals.

The new study, which is conducted by the University of Kentucky, appears to be the first effort from the federal government to deploy harm-reduction vending machines. Harm reduction vending machines have been popularized in CanadaAustralia, and other countries. A few U.S. states, including New YorkRhode IslandOhio, and Nevada, have deployed the machines in recent years. The machines sometimes include smoking kits, which in many cases include crack pipes.

The University of Kentucky declined to comment, directing the Free Beacon‘s inquiry to the NIH. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, which heads the project at the NIH, told the Free Beacon that along with drug paraphernalia, the vending machines will include "food kits, water, socks and gloves, feminine hygiene products, wound care, and resources/guides." The agency did not respond to questions regarding the status of the kiosk program.

Biden Admin To Review Whether Grant Recipients Distribute Crack Pipes

Administration's careful scrutiny follows several Free Beacon reports on grant program

The Biden administration said on Thursday it will schedule meetings with each grant recipient of its controversial harm reduction program to ensure taxpayer dollars don't go toward crack pipes—a pledge that follows a Washington Free Beacon report that organizations slated to receive these funds are actively distributing crack and meth pipes.

In response to the story, which detailed how the Department of Health and Human Services is set to fund two Maine harm reduction groups that as recently as last week were distributing free crack pipes and other drug paraphernalia, an agency spokesman said the department will now schedule meetings with each recipient to review their offerings.

"As next steps, the Government Program Officer/Grant Management Specialist will schedule meetings with each grantee to review/confirm that each supply item is allowable," a department spokesman told the Free Beacon. "Recipients must consult with their assigned project officer and grants management specialist prior to purchasing harm reduction equipment and supplies."

The department's pledge to vet each harm reduction group's purchase marks the latest shift in the Biden administration's plan to prevent federal funding of crack pipes. The Free Beacon first reported in February that the Biden administration was set to fund the distribution of crack pipes. Facing blowback, the White House said it did not "support federal funding, indirect or direct, for pipes" and that crack pipes were "never" going to be included. HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said that "no federal funding will be used directly or through subsequent reimbursement of grantees to put pipes in safe smoking kits."

No plan was ever offered, however, on how the administration would ensure that its grant money wouldn't go toward crack pipes, which are commonly included in the so-called safe smoking kits distributed by harm reduction organizations, according to a Free Beacon investigation earlier this year.

The administration in May announced the recipients of its harm reduction grants. Included on the list was a Maine health group that funnels money to two harm reduction organizations that both distribute crack pipes.

The two Maine groups that provide crack pipes and meth pipes—Church of Safe Injection and Maine Access Points—were not listed as recipients in HHS's grant award announcement. The groups revealed their participation in the federal program through Facebook posts in July. MaineHealth, the largest health network in the state, is listed as the lone recipient of the $1.2 million grant and will coordinate with the two harm reduction groups to distribute drug paraphernalia throughout Maine, according to a local news outlet.

HHS did not respond to requests for comment on why the groups were excluded from the grant announcement.

The Daily Caller reported last month that a New York organization that was awarded nearly $400,000 through the Biden administration's grant program was also actively distributing crack pipes.

The Church of Safe Injection told the Free Beacon it will continue to distribute pipes after its federally funded harm reduction program launches. A spokeswoman for the organization said its pipes will be funded by money separate from the federal grant. HHS did not respond to a question on whether this qualifies as "indirect" funding for pipes, which the White House said it would not support.

Landlord Problems: Illinois Dem Pays Thousands in Rent to Cocaine-Pushing Butcher

Rep. Danny K. Davis (D., Ill.) rents his district office from a convicted cocaine dealer who was once affiliated with a Chicago drug ring, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Since January 2017, Davis's campaign account has cut regular $600 checks for "office rent" to Mario's Butcher Shop, FEC records show. The shop, which is registered as a corporation with the state, lists Mariano "Mario" Lettieri and his wife as the sole members of its board of directors and was at the center of Lettieri's 1990 conviction for drug trafficking.

Lettieri, whom the Chicago Tribune described as "reputedly tied" to a "crime syndicate," was sentenced to nearly 16 years in prison after authorities identified him as the primary supplier of cocaine to a major Chicago drug ring led by an ex-cop. The Drug Enforcement Administration reported that Lettieri trafficked as much as 80 pounds of cocaine over a six-month period. Lettieri also allowed heroin to be packaged in his butcher shop's boiler room and used "rib-eye steaks" as a code word when discussing drug prices.

Lettieri is an odd landlord for Davis, who has long championed efforts to fight drug abuse. Davis in 2006 called for $4 million in emergency aid funds to be allocated to Cook County to address the growing heroin problem in the area. Last year, Davis announced that he had formed a coalition of drug prevention organizations in Chicago to help address the growing opioid crisis. He told the local press that "there is no part of Chicago that is worse hit than the West Side." The West Side of Chicago is where Lettieri ran his drug operation in the 1980s.

Tumia Romero, Davis's chief of staff, would not directly address the congressman's payments to Lettieri but told the Free Beacon that Davis believes in giving people "second chances."

Davis is no stranger to controversy. In 2005, he took a trip to Sri Lanka funded by the Tamil Tigers, an ethnic terrorist group from that country. He is a close ally of noted anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and once participated in a religious ceremony with Sun Myung Moon, the leader of the controversial Unification Church. Moon, who died in 2012, was a convicted felon who said Jews deserved the Holocaust.

The congressman also attended the 2012 dedication of the Church of Scientology's Washington, D.C., lobbying office.

Davis, who faced a tough primary challenge this cycle, was boosted by an endorsement from President Joe Biden. The longtime congressman won his primary by single digits and is now expected to coast to reelection in November.

Reached for comment, a Mario's Butcher Shop employee said he would relay the Free Beacon‘s inquiry to the establishment's owner.

llegal Alien Accused of Threatening Texas High School: ‘You’re Next’

An illegal alien has been accused of making terroristic threats against an Archer County, Texas, high school.

Kevin Resendiz, a 32-year-old illegal alien, was arrested this week by the Archer County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly posting on Facebook threats against Windthorst High School. Resendiz has been charged with making terroristic threats.

According to an affidavit, reviewed by local media, Resendiz made the threats on a Facebook page operated by him under the name “Kevin Magne.” The threat was allegedly posted in Spanish and read “screaming mad s*** to God and he was nothing to the devil” followed by “Here I come Windthorst Academy. You’re next.”

Police allege that Resendiz quickly deleted the Facebook post and the account.

A number of individuals with knowledge of Resendiz told police that the suspect was capable of a mass shooting citing his prior threatening Facebook posts and mental state. The high school as well as law enforcement in the area responded to the threat as a result.

Resendiz, who attended Windthorst High School, remains in the Archer County Jail on a $1.5 million bond and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on him so that if he is released from local custody at any time, he could be taken into ICE custody for arrest and deportation.

10,100 Pounds of Fentanyl Seized at U.S.-Mexico Border in First Ten Months of FY22

(CNSNews.com) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 10,100 pounds of fentanyl at the U.S.-Mexico border in the first 10 months of this fiscal year (October through July).

In July, as the chart below shows, CBP and Office of Field Operations (Customs) agents seized 2,100 pounds of fentanyl, a monthly record, at the Southwest border.

It takes only two milligrams to kill a person.

All Americans should be very concerned, said Montgomery County Texas Sheriff Rand Henderson. He spoke to Fox & Friends on Tuesday:

"It's a poison that's being introduced to our country. I mean, the illicit manufacture of this stuff has just gotten crazy with the potency of it. The deception by the drug dealers to mix it in to the pressed pills, trying to sell it as a legal drug that's a prescription medication.

“It only takes 2 milligrams of this stuff to kill you. We're finding twice, sometimes three time the amount of fentanyl in a pill that is not supposed to contain any fentanyl.

“Believe it or not, drug dealers will lie to you. These manufacturers are not professionals. There is no quality control standard. And it is truly a weapon of mass destruction that's killing our population.”

On August 30, the Drug Enforcement Administration warned that "rainbow fentanyl" is now appearing in cities across the country. DEA called it "an alarming new trend."

"In August 2022, DEA and our law enforcement partners seized brightly-colored fentanyl and fentanyl pills in 18 states.  Dubbed ‘rainbow fentanyl’ in the media, this trend appears to be a new method used by drug cartels to sell highly addictive and potentially deadly fentanyl made to look like candy to children and young people," the news release said.

DEA said the brightly colored fentanyl comes in various forms, including pills, powder, and blocks that resembles sidewalk chalk.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. "Fentanyl remains the deadliest drug threat facing this country," DEA said.

According to the CDC, 107,622 Americans died of drug overdoses in 2021, with 66 percent of those deaths related to synthetic opioids such as fentanyl.

While Mexico and China are the primary source countries for fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked directly into the United States, India is emerging as a source for finished fentanyl powder and fentanyl precursor chemicals, DEA said.

The DEA website shows what a lethal dose of fentanyl looks like:

A lethal dose of fentanyl (Photo from DEA website)

It is trafficked into this country by Mexican drug cartels, "through the regular cartel routes," Sheriff Henderson said:

"It's just not your regular drug," he said.

"In my career, I thought I would never see anything worse than methamphetamines, which has been horrible scourge on our population, but this is taking it to a new level. It truly a poison.

“Which is what our Governor Greg Abbott is looking to do, is to label this not only as a narcotic but as a poison. So manufacturing, delivery with intent or resulting in injury or death is already a felony crime in Texas.

"So we are hoping to add it as a poison and move it up a step by our Texas Legislature."

Feds Seize 5,000 Pounds of Meth Setting Record for California Border County

Federal and local law enforcement officials seized a record-setting load of cartel-connected methamphetamine in San Diego County, California. The drugs, loaded 20-foot box truck, weighed in excess of 5,000 pounds and are reported to be the largest seizure in San Diego County.

During the afternoon of July 7, federal officials observed a box truck enter the U.S. through the Otay Mesa Commercial Port of Entry, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. Law enforcement agencies surveilled the truck to its destination in National City, California. The agents watched as the alleged drug smugglers unloaded the truck into a Dodge van.

At that point, law enforcement officers moved in and arrested Rafael Alzua, 37; Mario Contreras, 41; Ethgar Velazquez, 44; and Galdrino Contreras, 41, prosecutors stated. Officials listed all four suspects as residents of Tijuana, Mexico.

An inspection of the boxes revealed more than 5,000 pounds of drugs that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

“This is a significant accomplishment by our law enforcement partners,” U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman said in a written statement. “Due to stellar work by law enforcement agents, the government stopped more than 5,000 pounds of methamphetamine from being distributed on our streets.”

The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Border Crime Suppression Team, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Border Patrol.

DEA Special Agent in Charge Shelly S. Howe stated, “This monumental seizure represents another win against drug cartels that fuel addiction in the United States. Because of our great partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, we will continue to disrupt the cartels’ flow of drugs into our cities.”

San Diego County Sheriff Anthony C. Ray added, “I am grateful for the hard work, vigilance, and steadfast dedication of our Sheriff’s Detectives, as well as our local, state, and federal partners. Our partnership and collaboration allow us to share information that is absolutely critical in keeping drugs from entering our streets and holding drug traffickers accountable.”

The four men from Mexico now face charges of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. If convicted, each could face a prison term of ten years to life and a fine of up to $10 million.

Court records were not yet available in the document tracking system.

EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENTS: Mexican Governor is the Nephew of a Cartel Boss in U.S. Custody

Facebook Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla

ILDEFONSO ORTIZ and BRANDON DARBY

15 Jun 20220

3:18

The governor of a Mexican state plagued with cartel violence for years is the nephew of a cartel boss and a cousin to another. Both face drug charges in a U.S court. Breitbart Texas obtained birth certificates confirming the familial relationships between the governor and the crime bosses. The politician has denied such familial connections in the past.

This week, Adalberto Fructoso “Fruto” Comparan Rodriguez, the former mayor of Aguililla, Michoacan, and son Adalberto Fructoso Comparan Bedolla, along with four other cartel members, went before a federal judge in Florida this week. They were notified of the drug charges against them and were ordered to be held without bond.
Breitbart Texas obtained Mexican birth certificates showing the relationships between current Michoacan Governor Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla and the accused through marriage. La Silla Rota had published information about Ramirez’s relatives during his gubernatorial race in 2021, but only now do documents publicly confirm the connections.

The wife of Comparan Rodriguez is Anabel Bedolla Marin from Aguililla, Michoacan — a region under the control of Carteles Unidos.

Anabel Bedolla is the sister of Maria de Jesus Bedolla Marin, who is the mother of the politician.

Ramirez Bedolla, born in Morelia, Michoacan, had previously tried to minimize his relationship by claiming his aunt and uncle were separated for more than 10 years and had no contact with them.

Comparan Rodriguez is accused of being one of the leaders of Carteles Unidos in Michoacan and responsible for large-scale shipments of meth into the U.S. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Comparan Rodriguez would hide the drugs inside concrete tiles and dilute meth in paint. Authorities in Guatemala arrested Comparan Rodriguez in March 2021 and helped get him extradited to the U.S. in January 2022. Authorities arrested his son, Comparan Bedolla, in March 2021 in Miami while they reportedly tried to remove liquid meth from paint.

Michoacan is one of the most violent states in Mexico due to a violent turf war between Carteles Unidos (a collection of smaller organizations and “self-defense” groups) against Cartel Jalisco New Generation for control of vast drug production areas and smuggling corridors. Mexico’s federal government has been unable to reduce violence in the region.

Biden's Deathly Presidency

By Jeffrey Folks

For four years under President Trump, America enjoyed peace, security, and unparalleled prosperity.  Trump's presidency was a historic era of good times in which we began to regain faith in the American Dream.  Now we have the nightmare, and the death and destruction that go with it.

Yes, the Trump Era was prosperous, with historically low unemployment rates, low inflation, energy independence, and rising wages.  But aside from that, the most important thing about Trump's presidency was the fact that Americans were secure, as they had not been under Obama and certainly are not under Biden.  Under Trump, America was in so many senses vibrant and "alive" with pride in our country and hope for its future.

Now we have regular mass shootings in which citizens disarmed by the State have no way to defend themselves.  Overseas, we have a war in Ukraine, the threat of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, and Iran developing nuclear weapons with the encouragement of the Biden administration.  The common thread is death and the fear that goes with it.  And this does not even include Biden's aggressive defense of abortion on demand.

Under President Trump, I lived without fear.  I knew that Trump supported my right to defend my home and that he supported the police who defended me as well.  Just having the president and his administration on my side made me breathe easier.  America was moving in the right direction, as was confirmed by every opinion poll during Trump's time in office before COVID was unleashed.

Long-term death rates are more a matter of demographics than policy, and they have been rising ever since Obama took office in 2008.  But murder rates, deaths in war and civil unrest, drug overdose deaths, and accidental deaths are attributable to policy, and they have been rising under Biden, even during his short time in office.  Under Biden, the U.S. murder rate, which had been declining under President Trump, is the highest in 25 years.  According to former N.Y. police commissioner Howard Safir, the spike in violence is partly attributable to lack of support for police and soft-on-crime prosecutors.  And it is Biden, with his anti-police rhetoric and refusal to prosecute (as in the case of those picketing Justice Kavanaugh's home), who is responsible for this climate of anarchy.

Now I plan my trips carefully, avoid eye contact with strangers, and carry only a driver's license and credit card.  I drive inconspicuously as well, given the explosion of road rage incidents.

The most galling thing is that Biden never says a word about the victims of crime unless he can twist the incident into an anti-gun lecture, and he takes no action to protect anyone, especially law-abiding citizens in middle-class neighborhoods like my own.  In this and so many other ways, he seems on the side of those who wish to destroy us.  It's no accident that murder rates are spiraling at home and war is breaking out overseas.  Both are a response to Biden's weakness, and death is the consequence.

I fear there will be more death ahead.  I expect an invasion in Taiwan, Moldova, or Finland, and new outbreaks of violence in the Middle East involving either Iran or its surrogates.  The incomprehensible Iran deal, which Biden is pushing, would "make Biden 'the biggest funder of terrorism in the world,'" according to Rep. Jim Banks.  "Terrorism" is not just a derogatory word; it is the act of murdering innocent human beings, including women and children.  Hasn't that fact entered into Biden's Iran deal calculations?

Biden's weakness has emboldened our enemies, and their actions pose a threat to our security.  This is the way major wars begin.  They can be prevented only by the projection of force of the kind we saw under President Trump, and Biden projects about as much force as a lady's fan.  His weakness will get us into another war, and our young men and women will die in that war.  There is death hanging over us, and Biden seems oblivious, fumbling with his note cards to find some kind of answer.

There is a new national mood in America unlike anything I've seen since the 1960s: a sense of foreboding and caution based on the very real threat of violence and collapse.  There are more threats to our country, including the wealth destruction of inflation, to which Biden simply rolls his eyes, chuckles, and whispers some idiotic riposte.  There are more criminal gangs, and Biden just welcomes more in.  There is more road rage, more random shooting, more felons out on no bond/low bond.  And there is a callous and brutal disregard for the lives of the unborn.

In response to the mounting violence, Biden seems remote, fuddling with his microphone like a man slipping into dementia, and those around him seem inept, if not callous, including his new press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, who is said to have "frequently stumbled" during her first weeks.  A president who is weak and advisers who are incompetent and anti-American to boot — that is a recipe for disaster, and disaster will end, as it always does, in poverty, destruction, and death.

There are bullies in the world who watched as Biden stumbled out of Afghanistan, and bullies don't have much respect for doddering fools who just want to survive a four-year term and leave a mess for someone else to clean up.

As a citizen, it is difficult to watch my country besieged by violence.  Biden's presidency has been deadly in every respect: turning off economic growth and imposing environmental restrictions, proposing inflation-adjusted cuts in national defense while paying off student loans, and putting citizens at risk with his anti-police rhetoric.

There is little chance of a second Biden term, but just another two and a half years is painful to imagine.  How many thousands will lose their lives because of one incompetent and wrong-headed leader?  How far will America go into danger and destruction?  And how much more difficult will it be for our next president, Trump or a Trump lookalike, to repair the damage and Make America Safe Again?

Republican Study Committee Creates Holistic Immigration Plan to Raise Wages, Grow Middle Class

The RSC Budget would prohibit federal funds from going to cities or jurisdictions operating as sanctuaries for illegal immigrants. There are at least 190 of these so-called sanctuary jurisdictions across the country,[7] and many cities have seen increased crime rates since declaring themselves sanctuary cities.[8

Mexico’s president is reviving calls for a continental superstate that would combine North American employers and South American employees – and sideline tens of millions of middle-class Americans. NEIL MUNRO

What's more, Mexico generally benefits from shipping its surplus uneducated population to the states to take the pressure valve off the potential for unrest. Corrupt Mexican officials often reap "fees" from letting illegal migrants from other countries as well as their own pass through their territory. MONICA SHOWALTER

The same continent-wide superstate was pushed in 2001 by President G.W. Bush and Mexico’s then-president, Vicente Fox. Their unpopular “Any Willing Worker” plan would have allowed U.S. employers to easily import low-wage employees from central and south America. It was derailed following the 9/11 attack.

The policy would spike Wall Street and Fortune 500 profits by giving them floods of cheap foreign workers plus many new foreign consumers. NEIL MUNRO

With Biden in office, America’s southern border has vanished entirely.

So, while we in America are getting a fair number of sex traffickers; mountains of fentanyl; low skilled, illegal workers who drive down wages; and more welfare mouths to feed, the Latin Americans who come here mostly want to work and mostly hew to traditional western, Christian values.       ANDREA WIDBURG

‘Sanctuary City’ Chicago Takes Illegals Bused in by Texas, Settles Them in Suburbs

BROWNSVILLE, TX - MAY 25: Undocumented Immigrants are led through the gate at a border control station after being deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents May 25, 2010 in Brownsville. The immigrants started the morning at an ICE processing center in suburban Chicago before boarding a charter …

Despite Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) claim that Chicago is a “welcoming sanctuary city,” she is now sending illegals sent by Texas out to the suburbs.

The Windy City began moving towards declaring itself a “sanctuary city” for illegals at least as far back as 2015, and since her election to the mayor’s office in 2019, Lightfoot has reiterated that policy and said that Chicago is a “welcoming” place for illegals.

Regardless, she has blasted Texas Governor Greg Abbott as a “racist” and a “xenophobe” for loading buses with illegals and driving them to self-appointed sanctuary cities including New York City and Chicago.

“This is about a cheap political point. It’s not about sharing the load. To Greg Abbott and his enablers in Texas: with these continued political stunts, (he) has confirmed what many of us had already known: he’s a man without any morals, humanity, or shame,” Lightfoot said early this month.

But now, despite her repeated claims to love illegals, Lightfoot has been found shipping the Texas deliveries to the nearby suburb of Burr Ridge, according to WGN 9 News. And town leaders there are both shocked and angered by the move.

Indeed, Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said that Chicago did not coordinate with them before dropping off dozens of illegals at a Burr Ridge hotel.

“I am concerned neither the village administrator nor I were told about this,” Grasso said. “We want to know: Why Burr Ridge?”

Grasso added that, while Cook County is a so-called sanctuary county, his town never took a stance by joining the sanctuary movement. Indeed, during his recent campaign for congress, Grasso ran on a platform of reducing illegal immigration and defunding sanctuary cities.

The Burr Ridge mayor also noted that the city government only became aware that Chicago had dumped illegals there when residents called city hall to complain.

Grasso and members of the Burr Ridge town council were belatedly invited onto a conference call with state officials after the news broke.

For her part, Lightfoot blasted Texas Gov. Abbott for not “coordinating” with Chicago or Illinois officials with his busing plan.

“My frustration comes from the actions of the governor of Texas,” Lightfoot said on Sept. 4, after the first bus load of 50 illegals arrived. “There could be a level of coordination and cooperation, but he chooses to do none of those things and instead tries to send human beings — not cargo, not freight — human beings across the country to an uncertain destination.”

But if Mayor Grasso is correct, Lightfoot also neglected to “coordinate” with him before sending a busload of illegals to his town.

Neither Lightfoot nor Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has commented on the story.

Meanwhile, Texas and other border states have been inundated with more than a million illegals released by the Biden administration since he took office. And that does not count the hundreds of thousands more who were not swept up by Border Patrol agents.

Texas has been particularly hard hit by the wave of illegals.

Border agents in Del Rio, Texas, recently apprehended almost 13,000 border crossers and illegal aliens in just one week, averaging almost 1,900 apprehensions a day in the region — which is about a third of Del Rio’s total population.

Keep This Family in Your Prayers - Ex-Convict Kills Boy Just Hours After Parole Release

A 14-year-old boy was killed in Galveston, Texas, last Friday, by an allegedly drunk driver.

Mason Nelson was riding in a Jeep with three other teenagers and one adult when 28-year-old Keith Brazier slammed into them at around 6 p.m. Brazier was driving a white Toyota SUV, according to the New York Post.

Police suspect that Brazier was drunk when he crashed into the Jeep, killing Nelson and critically injuring two of the passengers. A passenger in Brazier’s SUV was also injured.

“I mean there was no skid. It was just like boom. Nobody had a chance to stop,” Denise Garrett said, a resident who lives where the accident occurred, KRIV reported.

Brazier survived and police arrested him on a murder charge; his bail is set at $500,000, according to New York Post.

Before killing Nelson, Brazier had been released from prison just hours prior; he was on parole from the third conviction. According to KRIV, he was convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2016, 2018 and 2021.

“Don’t give them third and fourth chances,” Garrett said. “That’s what I think is the problem, giving people chances to go out there and do it again and this happens. And who pays for it? Some innocent child.”

Nelson was a freshman at Ball High School and had just left baseball practice before the accident happened, according to the Post.

A candlelight vigil was held for him on Tuesday.

According to KHOU, Nelson was being raised by his dad.

“I have learned so much about that kid since Friday night,” Reid Nelson, Mason’s father, said at the vigil, according to KTRK-TV. “He was my best friend, but I had no idea just how awesome he was.”
