Kamala Harris Hires Former Speechwriter for John Kerry to Improve Image
Vice President Kamala Harris has hired a new speechwriter who formerly worked for climate envoy John Kerry.
Harris has commissioned Dave Cavell as her new speechwriter, according to a report for Politico.
Embarrassing moments for Harris have led to the vice president chewing through two previous speech writers in just three years.
Her first speechwriter Kate Childs Graham left in February and and her second speechwriter left in the Summer after working for the vice president for less than four months.
Harris has suffered high turnover rates in her less than two years in office.
Staffers began exiting Harris’ office in December with the departure of communications director Ashley Etienne and press secretary Symone Sanders.

Press operations director Peter Velz also exited in January as well as her deputy director of public engagement Vincent Evans.

Domestic policy adviser Rohini Kosoglu left in August.
A Politico report last year revealed the dysfunction in Harris’ office, as anonymous sources revealed an “abusive environment” behind the scenes.
“It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s—,” one staffer explained.

A Minnesota bail fund championed by Vice President Kamala Harris helped free a repeat felon now charged with murder.
The Minnesota Freedom Fund on Thursday acknowledged it helped secure the release of Shawn Michael Tillman, who in May shot and killed a passenger on a rail platform in St. Paul. Harris promoted the Freedom Fund on Twitter during the George Floyd riots in 2020, helping the group raise $35 million in a matter of weeks, according to the Washington Post.
Freedom Fund executive directors Mirella Ceja-Orozco and Elizer Darris defended the group's decision to post Tillman's bail in a statement Thursday, saying, "It is neither just nor effective to respond to violence by denying bail and preemptively punishing people who are disproportionately poor, Black, brown, and Indigenous."
Tillman's criminal record includes multiple counts of indecent exposure, as well as assault and unlawful possession of a firearm, court records show. He is now in custody with bail set at $2 million.
When reached for comment, the Freedom Fund directed the Washington Free Beacon to its statement.
Tillman's most recent felony conviction was in November 2018 for indecent exposure in the presence of a minor. He had seven prior counts of indecent exposure at the time. Ceja-Orozco and Darris said convictions play into their decision to fund those charged with crimes. They did not list any of Tillman's past convictions.
Tillman is not the first person to commit murder after being bailed out by the Freedom Fund. The group helped free a man charged with domestic abuse last year. Weeks later, he murdered another man in a road rage incident, the Free Beacon reported.
The group also shelled out $75,000 in cash to release Jaleel Stallings, who was charged in May 2020 with attempted murder after shooting at police during the Floyd riots.
Minneapolis saw the highest number of homicides last year since the mid-1990s.

Two people on a motorcycle attacked a pedestrian in Manhattan Saturday afternoon when a Good Samaritan grabbed their gun.
He was hit in the head for his trouble, but chased them on foot anyway as they took off on the motorcycle, The New York Post reports.
At least one of the individuals on the motorcycle was allegedly armed.
The pedestrian, a 28-year-old, was cornered by the suspects when the Good Samaritan ran up to take away the alleged robbers’ gun.
One of the suspects on the motorcycle punched the Good Samaritan, but he stayed in the fight, took the gun, and chased the suspects on foot as they fled on the motorcycle.
On July 17 Breitbart News reported that leftists went apoplectic because so many people were referring to a concealed carrier as a Good Samaritan after he opened fire on a would-be mass shooter at Greenwood Park Mall and stopped the attack.
For example, David Leavitt tweeted, “You’d never need a ‘Good Samaritan’ with a gun at Greenwood Park Mall or at any other place if there weren’t any guns to begin with.”

At least 35 people were shot, eight of whom were killed, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
Breitbart News noted that 15 people were shot, six of them fatally, Friday into Saturday night alone.
The deaths included a double homicide in which police were called Saturday at 3 p.m. because two men were lying in the street. Police arrived on scene to find that both men had been shot numerous times.
On Monday morning, ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reported the total number of weekend shooting victims had reached at least 35, with two additional shooting fatalities.
Around 2 a.m. Sunday Police found a victim “in the 4900-block of West Superior Street” who had been shot in the neck. The individual later died at a hospital.
On Sunday night a 46-year-old woman was in a car with a 42-year-old man “on South Vincennes Avenue near Monterey Avenue” when occupants of another car opened fire on them. The 42-year-old man attempted to drive a police station for help but the car chased them down and more shots were fired, leaving the man in critical condition and the woman fatally wounded.
The Sun-Times homicide database shows there were 439 people killed in Chicago January 1, 2022, through August 28, 2022.

Virginia Progressive Prosecutor Freed Felon Who Went On To Murder Two Men
SHARE A progressive Virginia prosecutor this year dropped charges against a felon with a history of gun charges. Months later, that felon killed two innocent men. In July, Francis Rose shot two "innocent bystanders" in the head while robbing an apartment complex in Alexandria, Va., according to police. In February, he was freed from jail by the office of Arlington County commonwealth’s attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti (D.). Rose, who was already on probation for illegally carrying a weapon in Washington, D.C., was arrested in October 2020 for possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine and fentanyl with intent to distribute. The double murder is the latest instance where soft-on-crime Virginia prosecutors enabled violent felons. Dehghani-Tafti’s ally Steve Descano (D.), Fairfax County’s top prosecutor, released three offenders with gun charges who each went on to murder. Both prosecutors’ campaigns received over $600,000 from the Democratic megadonor George Soros. Like Soros-backed prosecutors across the country, Dehghani-Tafti and Descano have abolished cash bail and pushed for decarceration. "What happened in Alexandria was senseless and tragic," Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares told the Washington Free Beacon. "Unfortunately, it continues to be true that the vast majority of violent crime is committed by the same repeat offenders." Police announced the double homicide of Adrian de Jesus Rivera Guzman and his step-son, Juan Carlos Anaya Hernandez, on Tuesday. Rose’s victims were landscape workers who had escaped gang-led violence in their native El Salvador. Arlington police arrested Rose during a traffic stop in 2020 after finding a loaded handgun, cocaine, and fentanyl on him. In February, a county judge ruled the search unconstitutional. The evidence was not legally admissible because the drugs and gun were "appended" to Rose rather than in the car, his defense attorney argued, according to the Washington Post. Dehghani-Tafti’s office dropped the charges following the judge’s ruling and criticized the arresting officers’ conduct. But before the ruling, a prosecutor in Dehghani-Tafti’s office praised the officers’ conduct, according to the Arlington Coalition of Police. Her office held Rose in jail without bond for more than a year before his trial, the law enforcement group said, implying prosecutors believed the officers had acted lawfully. Rose will appear in court on Oct. 28. He faces up to 40 years in prison for each count of second-degree murder. Juan Hernandez’s wife told the Post she hopes he will stay behind bars this time. "I know that if he’s in prison, my son and husband, they won’t come back," Laura Hernandez said. "But this man can’t get out. He can’t get out." By Kassidy McDonald | kmcdonald@alextimes.com Two men were shot to death the morning of July 16 after a botched residential burglary at 7:28 a.m. in the Assembly Alexandria apartment complex in the 100 to 200 blocks of Century Drive, according to a police report. The victims, Adrian Dejesus Rivera Guzman, 48, and Juan Carlos Anaya Hernandez, 24, were innocent bystanders to the burglary when they were both shot in the head by suspect Francis Deonte Rose, 27. The suspect is in custody on burglary charges and police said other charges are expected. According to ALXnow, Alexandria police radio traffic at the time suggested that the burglary suspect was the ex-boyfriend of an apartment resident and was known to carry a gun. This is not the first time Rose has been in trouble with the law, as he has previously been arrested in D.C. and Arlington County. In D.C., he was charged with carrying a pistol without a license, bench warrant, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of an unregistered firearm. In Arlington a year later, he was charged with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute cocaine and fentanyl as well as possession of a gun and ammunition by someone convicted of a felony within the past 10 years, according to ALXnow. Rose was released from jail in Arlington after these charges were dropped following a judge’s decision to suppress evidence that the judge ruled had been illegally obtained, ALXnow reported. 23 Aug 20220 2:18 A 36-year-old shopper was brutally sucker punched from behind at a mall in Brooklyn while no bystanders are seen immediately aiding the victim, including a security guard, in footage released by the New York Police Department (NYPD). The assault happened at Kings Plaza Mall in the Mill Basin neighborhood of Brooklyn at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Watch:
As the footage begins, a 36-year-old man is seen standing by himself before being approached by another man from behind, who sucker punches him in an unprovoked manner. The suspect is then seen walking away from the victim’s motionless body. While multiple bystanders are visibly nearby the 36-year-old’s body, no one is seen aiding the victim for the rest of the footage — approximately 20 seconds. During this time, a security guard can be seen walking by the victim’s motionless body but also does not attend to him as he walks away. He even appears to look at the victim while walking. The 36-year-old was taken to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, WABC reported. The NYPD released additional footage of what appears to be the suspect exiting a black Honda Civic at a parking exit in the mall. It is unknown why the attack occurred, as police continue to search for the suspect. This attack comes after a victim was sucker punched by another man outside in a similarly unprovoked manner on August 12, Breitbart News reported. 23 Aug 20220 1:35 Jonah Sampson, a 30-year-old black man accused of spray painting swastikas on Atlanta’s gay pride rainbow crosswalk, was arrested Friday by Atlanta police after a five-hour standoff with a SWAT team. A spray painted swastika was found on the gay pride crosswalk on Wednesday, which prompted Atlanta’s Department of Transportation to arrive on scene and quickly clean it up. However, the symbol was also found on the crosswalk on Friday, this time next to an anti-gay slur.
Atlanta police believe Sampson is also responsible for spray painting similar symbols at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Sampson is facing three charges of second degree criminal damage to property, one count of criminal trespass and a felony charge of interference with government property, Fox News reported. Sampson remains in custody on a $77,500 bond for all charges, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Local authorities attempted to arrest Sampson at an apartment on Friday around 12:00 p.m., but he would not leave the premises. As a result, Atlanta police SWAT teams were deployed to the scene. Sampson ultimately left the apartment around 5 p.m. Atlanta installed the rainbow crosswalk in 2016 after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, left 49 people dead. Chicago Police: Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of Six-Year-Old at McDonald’s
23 Aug 20220 3:07 A man has been accused of sexually abusing a six-year-old boy at the former Rock ‘n’ Roll McDonald’s in Chicago. Law enforcement alleged 62-year-old Bryan Sutton of Flint, Michigan, molested the child inside a bathroom stall on Saturday, CWB Chicago reported Monday. “He also allegedly attacked a 61-year-old male security guard who tried to detain him inside the restaurant, 600 North Clark Street,” the outlet continued, adding Chicago officers later tazed the suspect before taking him into custody. A photo showed the suspect with a bandage taped to his forehead:
He was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child and aggravated kidnapping. The suspect was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday. Meanwhile, the boy was taken to a hospital in good condition, but it was apparently not the first such incident involving a child to happen at the McDonald’s. In March 2020, an illegal alien felon was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in the McDonald’s restroom, Breitbart News reported at the time. The suspect had been freed several times by the sanctuary state of Illinois, the outlet continued: Christopher Puente, a 34-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was charged in Chicago with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault after he allegedly locked himself in a McDonald’s bathroom stall with a three-year-old girl and proceeded to sexually assault her, according to law enforcement. Puente allegedly admitted to Cook County prosecutors that on February 24, he lured the three-year-old girl into a men’s bathroom stall in McDonald’s before placing her on his lap, pulling off her pants, and covering her mouth as he sexually assaulted her. The girl’s father was in the next stall with her brother and heard her crying “daddy, daddy” in the moments before he tried to get into the stall to rescue her. When he could not pry the door open, he took hold of her legs from underneath and pulled her out. The suspect was arrested a few days later. “Puente has a long criminal history in the U.S. after first illegally crossing the southern border sometime before 2011. Puente has two felony convictions for burglary in 2011 and 2017 and was convicted of forgery in 2012,” the outlet said. In 2019, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) asked that Puente be handed to them after an arrest regarding theft, but the state of Illinois released him. Later, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) and the Chicago Police Department defended freeing the man before the alleged sexual assault, Breitbart News reported on March 5, 2020. Lightfoot said in part, “[ICE officials are] critical because we have said very clearly we are a welcoming city, a sanctuary city. Chicago Police Department will not cooperate with ICE on any immigration-related business.”
Police Arrest Female Suspect After Two People Shot Dead in Atlanta
23 Aug 20220 1:28 Police arrested a female suspect at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after two people were shot and killed and a third person shot and injured Monday in the city’s Midtown district. CNN identified the two deceased individuals as 41-year-old Wesley Freeman and 60-year-old Michael Shinners. Both victims were shot multiple times.
Officers began searching for a female suspect.
She was found and apprehended at Atlanta’s airport at 4 p.m. Monday, where officers also recovered a handgun. 23 Aug 20220 1:52 A report from WGN-TV says that nine people were shot within three hours in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago Monday night. Two of the shooting victims succumbed to their wounds. The first shooting fatality occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. in “the 2500 block of South Karlov Avenue in Little Village,” according to WGN-TV. A 33-year-old man was in the back seat of a vehicle when someone opened fire, striking him in the head and killing him. The second fatal shooting took place approximately two hours later when a 54-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed while walking on the sidewalk in “the 2500 block of East 84th Street.” The 54-year-old was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. WGN-TV indicates another seven people were shot and wounded during the three-hour time frame that began just before 9:30 p.m. The Chicago Sun-Times points out that 11 people were shot, two of them fatally, last Monday, August 15, in Lightfoot’s Chicago. 23 Aug 20220 3:31 Police officers in New York City arrested a United Nations (U.N.) diplomat from South Sudan on Sunday after he was accused of rape by a woman that day — but released him from custody Monday morning after he successfully claimed diplomatic immunity, the New York Post reported. The newspaper, which obtained and reviewed a copy of the relevant New York City Police Department (NYPD) report, relayed the following on August 22: Charles Dickens Imene Oliha, 46 — a career diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in South Sudan — was arrested in Sunday’s alleged sex assault on a woman inside her apartment around noon, according to a police report obtained by The Post. Oliha was taken into custody on suspicion of rape and brought in for questioning, cops said. But once he informed detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit that he was a diplomat, investigators confirmed he had immunity and swiftly released him without formally charging him, police said. The New York Post, citing the NYPD report and other unnamed sources, revealed several details about the sex crime allegedly committed by Oliha on August 21. The South Sudanese diplomat resides in the same apartment building — located on Wadsworth Terrace street in the NYC neighborhood of Fort George — as his alleged rape victim.
The female victim told police officers that she was outside her apartment building walking a neighbor’s dog around 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Moments later, as she attempted to reenter her building’s lobby, Oliha approached her and offered to open the door for her. Oliha told the woman he was going to follow her upstairs to her apartment. The woman replied, “No, you’re not,” according to the NYPD report.
“But as the woman opened the door to her apartment, the suspect forced his way inside,” the New York Post quoted police as stating in the report. “The woman reported that the intruder pinned her against a wall and raped her using a condom before raping her again on the couch without a condom,” the NYPD said. “The victim said she was in shock after the attack and went to sleep but later called 911 after a friend convinced her to make a report,” according to the police document. NYPD officers escorted the woman to Columbia University Medical Center for a medical evaluation shortly after she reported the alleged rapes. Police officers arrested Oliha for the alleged sex crime around midnight on Sunday. However, while in custody, Oliha informed the NYPD that he had diplomatic immunity and they released him from detention early Monday morning. The U.K.’s Daily Mail reached out to the U.S. State Department for comment on Oliha’s alleged sex crime and received the following response on August 23: “We are aware of the incident referenced involving a diplomat accredited to the United Nations. We take these allegations seriously, and we are working closely with the New York Police Department and the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs, as we do in all legal and criminal cases involving foreign diplomats assigned to Permanent Missions and Observer Offices at the UN.” The U.S. State Department refused to verify to the Daily Mail whether or not Oliha remained in the U.S. as of August 23. Italy: African Migrant Caught on Video Raping Ukrainian Woman in Broad Daylight
24 Aug 20220 3:05 An African migrant was arrested by Italian police on Sunday after being caught on film raping a Ukrainian woman in the middle of the street in broad daylight. The incident took place in the centre of the city of Piacenza in the Emilia-Romagna region on Sunday morning at around 6:30 am and saw the migrant, originally from Guinea, allegedly rape his 55-year-old Ukrainian victim on the Via Scalabrini. Local residents alerted police after seeing the attack take place, while others captured the shocking attack on film, according to a report from the newspaper Il Giornale. “It is a very serious episode that offends not only the victim but a city that has proved hospitable to those who – evidently – did not deserve it,” national-conservative Brothers of Italy (FdI) member Tommaso Foti said and added that he did not want to politicize the attack for election purposes but said it could not be ignored.
The leader of the Brothers of Italy, social conservative firebrand Giorgia Meloni, was slammed by the mainstream media after she posted a video of the attack on her Twitter account. “One cannot remain silent in the face of this atrocious episode of sexual violence against a Ukrainian woman carried out in daytime in Piacenza by an asylum seeker,” Meloni said and added, “A hug to this woman. I will do everything I can to restore security to our cities.” The Tweet was later deleted with Twitter stating that it violated the rules of the platform. Populist League leader Matteo Salvini, an ally of Meloni, also commented on the attack saying, “‘Asylum seeker’ and rapist. That’s enough! Defending the borders and the Italians will be a duty for me, not a right. I will be in Piacenza soon, to confirm the League’s commitment to restore security to our country.”
Salvini went on to promise to hire at least 10,000 more police and carabinieri officers in 2023 and to block illegal immigrant landings. According to a 2020 report, nearly half of the violent rape attacks in Italy are carried out by foreign nationals. The Italian statistics agency ISTAT reported that some 42 per cent of violent sex crimes against women in the country are committed by foreigners, with non-European Union migrants making up a significant number of sex attackers. Ahead of next month’s September 25th national election, both Ms Meloni and Salvini have vowed to reduce the number of illegals entering the country, with Meloni going as far as suggesting a naval blockade earlier this month. The centre-right alliance, of which Meloni’s FdI and Salvini’s League are members, looks set to win the national election and some forecasts have the coalition winning as many as 60 per cent of the seats in parliament, opening the way to Meloni becoming Italy’s first female Prime Minister.

If blacks owned pets at rates double their own population, their cruelty offense-rates would be less of a concern. But this is not the case. White ownership rates have been shown to be double, even triple, that of blacks, meaning the latter’s propensity for animal cruelty is actually far higher than what’s showing in the FBI’s figures. Between 2012 and 2015, there were 631,830 violent interracial victimizations, excluding homicide, between blacks and whites, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Blacks, who make up 13 percent of the U.S. population, committed 85.5 percent of those victimizations, or 540,360 felonious assaults on whites, while whites, 61 percent of the population, committed 14.4 percent, or 91,470 felonious assaults on blacks. Regarding threats to blacks from the police, a police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer. Anti-cop activist Shaun King says that his involvement in the campaign around the Jazmine Barnes murder was not driven by reports that a white man had killed the seven-year-old girl, who was gunned down in Houston on December 30. According to Barnes’s mother and 15-year-old sister, the white driver of a pickup truck had pulled up next to the family’s car before opening fire. The accusation set off a frenzy of hate-crime allegations and blanket coverage by the New York Times. King offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who located the suspect. As it turned out, Jazmine Barnes was killed by two black men, who opened fire on her mother’s car because they thought that they were targeting enemies of their gang. King passed along a tip about the real killers to the Houston police, and now says that he merely “internalized the pain of the family and tried to search as if it were my own child who was killed.” Race, in other words, had nothing to do with his activism. It’s worth remembering, though, the many other black children who have been victims of drive-by shootings without leading King to launch a national crusade. A sampling: in March 2015, a six-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting on West Florissant Avenue in St. Louis, as Black Lives Matter protesters were converging on the Ferguson, Missouri, Police Department to demand the resignation of the entire department. In August 2015, a nine-year-old girl was killed by a bullet from a drive-by shooting in Ferguson while doing her homework in her bedroom, blocks from the Black Lives Matter rioting thoroughfare. Five children were shot in Cleveland over the 2015 Fourth of July weekend. A seven-year-old boy was killed in Chicago that same weekend by a bullet intended for his father. In Cincinnati, in July 2015, a four-year-old girl was shot in the head and a six-year-old girl was left paralyzed and partially blind from two separate drive-by shootings. In Cleveland, three children five and younger were killed in September 2015, leading the black police chief to break down in tears and ask why the community only protests shootings of blacks when the perpetrator is a cop. In November 2015, a nine-year-old in Chicago was lured into an alley and killed by his father’s gang enemies; the father refused to cooperate with the police. All told, ten children under the age of ten were killed in Baltimore in 2015; twelve victims were between the age of ten and seventeen. In 2016, a three-year-old girl in Baltimore was partially paralyzed by a drive-by shooting. In Chicago in 2016, two dozen children under the age of 12 were shot in drive-bys, including a three-year-old boy mowed down on Father’s Day 2016 who is now paralyzed for life and a ten-year-old boy shot in August; his pancreas, intestines, kidney, and spleen were torn apart. A Jacksonville 22-month-old was shot to death by a passing car last June. In September, three men killed three-year-old Azalya Anderson in a drive-by in Sacramento, and a week before Christmas in Bridgeport, a 12-year-old boy was shot and killed on his way home from the candy store in a drive-by shooting. Why did King let these shootings of black children go by without responding as he did to Jazmine Barnes’s murder? Could it be because the perpetrators were black? You could end all white shootings of black children tomorrow and it would have zero effect on the death rate of black children by homicide, because such white-on-black shootings are extremely rare. Moral abominations, like the 2015 Charleston church massacre by white supremacist Dylann Roof, are aberrations that belong to the outermost lunatic fringe of American society. The country’s revulsion at the Charleston carnage was immediate and universal, resulting in a movement to banish the Confederate flag, embraced by Roof as a white supremacist symbol, from official sites. If Shaun King and other Black Lives Matter activists really want to save black children from the trauma of urban violence, they should put their efforts into rebuilding inner-city culture—above all, by revalorizing a married father as the best gift a mother can give her child. Fantasies about white violence against “black bodies” are a distraction from what is actually happening on American streets. Heather Mac Donald is the Thomas W. Walter Williams tackles the elephant in the room on crime Dr. Williams is a well known conservative economist and longtime John Olin Chair faculty at George Mason University in eastern Virginia, author of 12 books and syndicated columnist. In the past, he has been substitute host on the Rush Limbaugh radio program. He is almost like family to me, and I have benefited from his essays and books over the years. This past week, I saw and read his essay on disparities in crime rates among races that was picked up by Military in its October 2019 issue. What got Dr. Williams going was the article by Matthew DeLisi of Iowa State U and John Paul Wright of the U of Cincinnati titled "What Criminologists Don't Say and Why." Dr. Williams confirms that the writers are right about the liberal tilt of criminologists — "If criminologists have the guts to even talk about a race-crime connection, it's behind closed doors and in guarded language. Any discussion about race and crime ... can mean the end of one's professional career." Dr. Williams points out teen black-on-white predatory behavior — chronicled in detail by many, particularly Colin Flaherty, whose investigative reports appear frequently (more than 100) at American Thinker — cannot be reported, mentioned, or considered by the media, politicians, criminologists, commentators, politicians, even law enforcement people without risking being called racist, the easy epithet used to enforce a ban on talking about the realities of racial disparities in crime and the increasingly violent nature of black violence against whites — the knockout game, polar bear hunting, flash mob violence against people and property. Referencing the Wright and DeLisi report, Dr. Williams comments on another reality: that the rate of black homicide and armed robbery as well as other violent crimes are as is as much as 15–30 times more than whites, for example, and he points out the silliness of criminologists' claims that mass incarceration rather than criminality has decimated the black community. He favorably quotes Wright and DeLisi when they say, "What they [criminals] did, in reality was to prey on their neighbors." Dr. Williams returns to a theme he has explored many times before in this essay and commentary when he points out that the black family of the past was two parents and stable, even back to days of slavery, and that the black community was moral and law-abiding. "The strong character of black people is responsible for the great progress made from emancipation to today. ... [T]oday's conduct among black youth wouldn't have been tolerated yesteryear." My regret is there aren't enough Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell types to engage the nutty attitudes of liberal chatterbox experts.
