Job openings fell by more than expected in August, a sign that the Federal Reserve’s efforts to cool the labor market may be working.

Openings fell to 10.1 million in August, the Labor Department said Tuesday. This is 1.117 million below the number of open positions in July, the largest drop on record apart from April of 2020.

Even with the drop, the number of openings is tremendously high. Prior to 2021, openings had never reached eight million.

This is the first time openings have fallen below 11 million since November 2021.

Economists had forecast 11.15 million openings. The prior month’s figure was revised down from 11.239 to 11.17 million.

The Department of Labor’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, known as JOLTS, has become a crucial barometer of the tightness of the labor market. The decline in openings brings the ratio of job vacancies to unemployed people down to 1.7 to one, a historically high level but well off the two to one ratio seen for most of this spring and summer.

The number people voluntarily quitting their job is also viewed as a measure of labor market strength since workers are more likely to leave when they have another job waiting or expect to easily find a new job. This rose to 4.16 million from 4.06 million, near the all-time high.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has said that he hopes to bring the number of openings down in order to contain inflation.

Migrants: A Billion More Are Waiting in the Wings

Every night on the news we see another thousand people wading or walking across our southern border. Every night I find myself wondering “How many more can there be?” Every night I remember that this crucially important question has already been answered.

On October 23, 2018, Prof. Dr. Gunnar Heinsohn (U. of Bremen, retired) was the keynote speaker at a NATO Joint Warfare Conference in Stavanger, Norway. Heinsohn’s topic: “Security Implications of Changing Demographic Trends.”

The charts and graphs in Heinsohn’s PowerPoint presentation tell a startling story. In 1950, the combined population of sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and southern and southeastern Asia was about 1.117 billion. By 2018, this number had more than quadrupled to 4.773 billion, with 938 million seeking to either cross the Rio Grande or emigrate someplace else for a better chance in life and a higher standard of living.

Projections for the next quarter century, Heinsohn noted, are even more disquieting. By 2050, which is roughly one generation into the future, the population of those impoverished regions will have grown to 6.77 billion, with 1.34 billion who have either moved to another country or are planning to do so. And that number, by the way, is a conservative estimate. It assumes that the desire to emigrate, polled globally which Gallup polled in 2017, will not increase in the years ahead.

Image: Illegal aliens crossing the Rio Grande (cropped). YouTube screen grab.

These calculations, of course, were made before Joe Biden and the Democrat party decided to open America’s southern border to the world. What effect this radical policy change will have on the number of migrants entering the United States in years and decades to come is unknown. It’s safe to predict, however, that the already scary emigration statistics will only get scarier.

According to the National Center for Health, the US currently has a population of about 335 million, with a birth rate that has been consistently below replacement level since 2007. Do the demographic data indicate that, by 2050, the US will have more than one billion new residents, with a ratio of one English-speaking American citizen to three or four new non-English-speaking asylum-seekers? If so, to whose advantage is such a dramatic and disturbing change?

The pro-abortion movement apparently believes the world is now over-populated. Why, then, are they working hard to encourage floods of mostly unskilled migrants to America and Europe? The US has already reached the goal of population stability. Some European countries now have birth rates that are far below replacement level. What is to be gained by jacking up the population numbers in countries where New World Order demographics are already the order of the day?

These are the things I worry about as I watch televised migrants navigate the Rio Grande. I don’t blame them for wanting a better life, but what, I wonder, do they worry about?

Do they know, for example, that they’re being used as fodder for political cannoneers, or as dupes for coyotes, cartels, and paid agents of the Democrat party? Do migrants really want to live in a land awash in killer drugs, a pathetic country that won’t even defend its borders? No, I’m sure they don’t, any more than they want to live in houses where the door can’t be closed, or in cities where felons are freed by prosecutors who have become de facto criminals themselves.

Do migrants have second thoughts about being shuffled around in an America that allows unvaccinated lawbreakers to cross its borders while, simultaneously, screaming bloody murder about the overwhelming importance of vaccines? Until a few days ago I couldn’t even get into Trinity Church in New York City without a mask and proof of vaccination. The woke clergy of this historic institution still won’t allow you on a religious retreat unless you meet their health standards. And yet, they welcome unmasked migrants into America unjabbed.

Do border crossers ponder the hidden motives of the elite puppeteers who pull the strings of America’s senescent president? Do migrants worry that they are being admitted into the U.S. simply to get them within needle range of the frenzied El Norte inoculators, who forcefully peddle a potentially fatal concoction with unknown long-term effects?

Are these hope-filled illegals aware of widespread speculation that they’re just imported voters who are expected to swing elections for the left in battleground states? And if they should fail to carry out this Woke political mission, will they cheerfully consent to having their citizenship powers overridden by the further importation of the billion or so emigrant replacements who, Gunnar Heinsohn warned NATO, are waiting in the wings?

Sooner or later the Rio Grande migrants will figure out that they were encouraged to break U.S. immigration law by a law-breaking administration, a cynical regime that deliberately allowed American cities to sink into crime and despair, and a crooked government that was always on the lookout for excuses to shut down schools, lock down communities, fabricate elections, and turn Antifa loose.

It’s what the new Americans do next that will determine our country’s fate.

Democrats: Importing racism, sexism, and terrorism

By Kathleen Brush

The Democrats are obsessed with racism, sexism, terrorism, and LGBTQ+. Why then, are they encouraging an open southern border, and giving preferences to Muslim immigrants, when both increase all of the above because ingrained biases travel with immigrants across America’s borders?

Since Biden came into office, there have been 4.5 million encounters at the southern border. The number of crossers remaining in the United States legally and illegally is a well-guarded secret. Perhaps it’s because Mayorkas and Biden are leveraging the use of temporary parole, refugee, and temporary protection (TPS) statuses to import “legally” an unlimited number of immigrants with minimal qualifications and background checks.

People from 13 countries can come to the border and qualify for TPS. This includes people from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. Many TPS immigrants have lived here for over 10 years. In 2021, more “temporary” immigrants became citizens than new arrivals.

Unaccompanied minors (under 21) are immediately designated as refugees, but not counted as refugees. Under Biden, over 260,000 unaccompanied minors have been processed, of which 82% were from Central America. (Between 2014 and 2017, the total was 3,092.) A 2015 study showed that 12% of minors were sponsored by criminals, including human traffickers.

In 2021, 66% of the unaccompanied minors were males, and 72% were 15-17 years old. It’s unknown how many will join gangs or work for cartels because post-release follow-up is optional. When Team Biden says the border is secure, it’s concealing that hundreds of thousands of virtually unvetted people walk across the border and live in the United States “legally.” The absence of transparency on immigration is scandalous.

There are also completely unvetted illegal immigrants. Between January 2021 and January 2022, an estimated additional 1.13 million illegal aliens arrived. The majority are Latinos living in sanctuary cities, where most unacceptable behaviors are concealed.

In the United States, anyone who questions the goodness of legal or

illegal immigrants is silenced as a racist. The result is that many

Americans don’t know that the immigrants themselves are a

continuous source of racists, sexists, and terrorists to America.

The increasing Latino population parallels increasing gang membership. Between 2010 and 2015, membership increased by 11%. This is tied to reintroducing a policy to give refuge to minors from Central America. The average age of a gang member is 17-18. Latinos make up 18.5% of the population, but they are an estimated 46% of gang members, while Blacks are 35%, Whites 13%, and Asians 4%.

Gangs are responsible for 13% of all murders, 48.9% of violent crimes, 42.9% of property crimes, and 39.9% of drug sales. Gangs are terrorists, but the FBI appears to see “White” as a requirement for categorizing someone as a domestic terrorist.

Gang members can arrive through the southern border, but most are homegrown. Young Latinos are marked by gang recruiters; the same goes for young first- or second-generation Muslims. They are marked by militant recruiters. Since 2007, there have been, respectively, 23 and 16 documented cases of young Somali-Americans joining or trying to join Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

The so-called “brothers in the fight for equality,” Blacks and Latinos are anything but. Most countries see discrimination as useful for hierarchically ordering societies, and they carry their discriminatory practices across the border. Nations in LatAm are no different. That’s not good for Native Latin Americans and Afro-Latinos living in the United States.

African American gang members are also well acquainted with the missing Black and Latino brotherhood. In 2007, 20112016, and 2018, there were documented incidents of Latino gangs in Los Angeles engaging in ethnic cleansing and fire-bombing Black communities. African-American job seekers are also most likely to lose jobs to Latinos.

The U.S. Muslim population has grown by 3000% since 1965. The Administration decides which refugees come to America. Since 2010, including paroled Afghan refugees, upwards of 50% of refugees have come from Muslim-majority nations. Some have arrived through America’s Diversity Visa lottery. In FY 2023, Muslims will make up more than half the winners.

Many refugees and “temporary” aliens come from countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Venezuela that don’t keep or share records of their citizens with the United States, and U.S. data on foreigners is limited. After the 2022 Afghan refugee airlift, it was discovered that 31 had red flags. Homeland Security located three. Another 50 “indicated potentially significant security concerns” because their fingerprints had been found on improvised explosive devices.

In August 2022, Muslims and non-Muslim Americans were busy accusing White people of a murderous hate crime against four Muslim men. It turns out the perpetrator was a wife-beating, serial-killer Afghan refugee.

Many Muslims are anti-Semitic, racist, sexist, and anti-LGBTQ+. The Muslim population’s increases have paralleled an increase in anti-Semitic hate crimes, and this rises when conflicts flare up between Israel and the Palestinians. White Muslims have a long history of bias against Blacks that ties to the Arab slave trade that ended in 1962.

That hatred doesn’t stop at the border, and it doesn’t stop when Muslims are Black. Homosexuality and changing genders are illegal in most Muslim-majority countries, where those behaviors are abhorred. Muslim men “are allowed more sexual freedom, but homosexuality is still seen by some as beyond the pale.” Muslim-Americans have argued in court that “sex is binary, fixed, and immutable.”

Most Muslim nations are non-secular. Depending on interpretations of Islamic law, forced marriage, child marriage, and polygyny are legal; women are the property of their husbands and fathers; it’s legal to beat a disobedient wife; and spousal rape is impossible. Women have restrictions on non-marital sex, what they wear, and where they go. In U.S. training centers, refugees are taught which Islamic legal behaviors are illegal, but ingrained behaviors are hard to change. Several Afghan refugees have been charged with sex with a minor and wife beating.

Sexism is also rife in Latin America, a top region for intimate partner violence and femicide. But battered undocumented Latinas, like Muslim women in America, do not seek help. Latinas fear deportation, while Muslim women fear their families.

Honor killings are new to America, and about 25 occur annually. The perpetrators are mostly Muslim residents. Female genital mutilation (FGM) was foreign to the United States. That is no longer true, and most victims are Muslim residents. Femicide is up in the United States. Is this due to the increasing Latino population? That’s unknown.

The FBI categorizes people by race. “This is white, black, Asian, and American Indian.” Latinos, unless they are Black (3.7%), are categorized as White. This ends up allocating extra blame to Whites for crimes like femicide, and gang-related crimes. FBI Data limitations notwithstanding, immigrants with an unequal view of women may help to explain why, despite #MeToo, sexual assaults have been increasing.

When will the government remove its blinders and recognize that outside the West, racism, sexism, and anti-LGBTQ+ are ordinary, tolerated, and often legal? Violent criminals are also common because policing is corrupt or in a nascent state. The Administration’s deceptive immigration practices are endangering Americans. Where is the truth and transparency Biden promised?

Illegals and the American Dream

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/12/illegals_and_the_american_dream.html

By Daniel John Sobieski

When talking about immigration, Democrats like to conflate illegal and legal immigration, dropping the word “illegal” and spouting meaningless babble about no human being illegal. They like to preach  that illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than American citizens, a factoid that has been exposed as a lie.

The murder of legal immigrant and Newman Police Corporal Ronil Singh on Christmas night by an illegal alien in the sanctuary state of California shows not only that the claims by Chuck Schumer and the “bride of Chucky” Nancy Pelosi that the Democrats support border security is a deadly and bald-faced lie. It highlights the difference between legal and illegal immigrants, between those who love America and want to be Americans and those who murder them.

Pelosi and Schumer like to talk about the “Dreamers.” Well, Ronil Singh had dreams, too:

Ronil Singh came to the U.S. from his native Fiji to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming an officer, joining a small-town police force in California and working to improve his English. The day after Christmas, he stopped another immigrant, this one in the country illegally, who shot and killed the corporal, authorities said Thursday…

"This suspect is in our country illegally. He doesn't belong here. He is a criminal," Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson, whose agency is leading the investigation, told reporters.

Newman Police Chief Randy Richardson fought back tears as he described Singh, a 33-year-old with a newborn son, as an "American patriot."

"He came to America with one purpose, and that was to serve this country," Richardson said…

"He was living the American dream," said Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy Royjinder Singh, who is not related to the slain officer but knew him. "He loved camping, loved hunting, loved fishing, loved his family."

And now he is dead. The blood of Kate Steinle, Mollie Tibbetts, and now Ronil Singh and others is on the hands of open border advocates and the sanctuary city loons who provide no sanctuary for the American citizen victims of illegal alien criminals.

Even if it were true that illegal aliens commit crimes, including murder, at rates lower than American citizens, that would be irrelevant. The murder rate for illegal aliens should be zero because none of them should be here and the indisputable fact is that Jamiel Shaw Jr., Kate Steinle, and Mollie Tibbetts would be alive today if the illegal aliens who slew them were still staring at the other side of a border wall liberals refuse to build.

Pelosi has said that a border wall would be “immoral, ineffective, and expensive” when it has been documented when it has been demonstrated that none of that is true. The fact is that walls are so effective they have been built in scores of countries around the world and in the U.S. places like San Diego and Yuma have demonstrated their effectiveness as Pelosi and Schumer worry more about Syria’s borders than our own:

According to Quebec University expert Elisabeth Vallet. there are65 completed or under construction border walls in the world today.

One-third of the world’s nations have border walls or barriers with their neighbors.

Pelosi believes this is immoral.

Tell that to Israel, Hungary, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Ireland, etc.

And Nancy Pelosi has a wall around the backyard at her home in San Francisco.

What is immoral is a policy endorsed by Pelosi and Schumer of sanctuary cities and even states that allows such criminal aliens in our country to murder Americans and a Democratic caucus that would abolish I.C.E. and those who risk their lives daily to provide some semblance of border security.  What is immoral is politicians such  as Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf  not only refusing to cooperate with I.C.E. butgiving illegal aliens a heads-up when I.C.E. raids are imminent.

In the wake of the Singh murder, Schaaf still insists that warning illegal aliens about I.C.E. raids was and is the right thing to do, the lives of American citizens she is sworn to protect be damned:

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf -- who once warned Northern California residents about an impending ICE raid -- said she has “no regrets” for her actions and said the federal immigration agency “has gone astray.”

“I have no regrets, none. The more time goes by, the more certain I feel that I did the right thing in standing up for our community and pointing out our values are not aligned with our laws,” Schaff toldBuzzFeed in an interview. “That’s hopefully the message that is sent out.”

The message Schaaf, Pelosi, and Schumer are sending out is one of callous disregard for the lives of American citizens. Democrats are endangering their lives and the lives of migrant children by enticing caravans to drag young children a thousand miles with lies about easy entry and waiting jobs:

The father of an 8-year-old Guatemalan boy who died in U.S. custody took his son to the border after hearing rumors that parents and their children would be allowed to migrate to the United States and escape the poverty in their homeland, the boy's stepsister told the Associated Press.

Felipe Gomez Alonzo died Monday at a New Mexico hospital after suffering coughing, vomiting and fever, authorities said. It was the second such death this month. Another Guatemalan child, 7-year-old Jakelin Caal, died in U.S. custody on Dec. 8.

The fact is that if we had a wall, or whatever the hair-splitters want to call it, both these children would be alive today. And it is American kids are dying too, killed and murdered by illegal aliens who have no right to be here. Just ask the parents of Justin Lee, 14, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident by an illegal alien:

An illegal immigrant has pleaded guilty to a hit and run that killed a Wixom teen in June.

Miguel Ibarra-Cerda, 22, entered his plea Thursday, the day his trial was set to begin before Judge Cheryl Matthews in Oakland County Circuit Court.

Ibarra-Cerda is charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault, resulting in death, and reckless driving causing death for the collision which killed Justin Lee, 14. Ibarra-Cerda faces up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the first charge and 15 years in prison and a $2,500-$10,000 fine on the second charge. Matthews will sentence him Dec. 20.

Or ask the parents of 12-year-old Clinton Howell, shot and killed shortly before Christmas by an illegal alien from Jamaica:

Police in Connecticut have arrested an 18-year-old undocumented immigrant from Jamaica on murder charges related to the shooting death of an innocent 12-year-old boy a week before Christmas.

Bridgeport Police Chief Armando Perez on Monday announced the charges against Tajay Chambers stemming from the December 18 death of Clinton Howell outside his family's home on Willow Street.

Chambers has been charged with murder; murder with special circumstances; use of a firearm during the commission of a felony; illegal possession of a firearm without a permit; risk of injury to a child; reckless endangerment, and larceny….

CTpost.com reported, citing police sources, that earlier that evening, Chambers and his alleged co-conspirators were driving in a stolen car when they got into an argument with some people walking along Willow Street, among them Howell’s relative.

There have been many suggestions as to how to pay for the wall, such as Sen. Ted Cruz’s idea to apply drug asset forfeitures to wall construction or to tax the billions of dollars aliens return to their home countries.. Pelosi certainly found no problem locating $3 billion for the ineffective and absurd “Cash for Clunkers” program under Obama, didn’t she?

The wall would in fact pay for itself, if only in the reduced cost of crimes that would be eliminated, saving both dollars from overburdened social services and the cost of illegal alien crimes, particularly the cost in human lives such as that of Ronil Singh, who is survived by his wife and young son.

His death, the death of a legal immigrant pursuing the American dream, and countless other American citizens, including children, is on the hands of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Perhaps Pelosi can attend Singh’s funeral and explain how his death and the deaths of others in the absence of a wall is all President Trump’s fault and that not building the wall is the moral thing to do.

"The costs of illegal immigration are being carefully hidden by Democrats."

Accounting for these differences reveals that California's real poverty rate is 20.6 percent – the highest in America, and nearly twice the national average of 12.7 percent.

THE AZTLAN INVASION & THE LA RAZA FASCIST PARTY FOR MEXICAN SUPREMACY

“The radicals seek nothing less than secession from the United States whether to form their own sovereign state or to reunify with Mexico. Those who desire reunification with Mexico are irredentists who seek to reclaim Mexico's "lost" territories in the American Southwest.”  TAKE A LOOK AT LOS ANGELES, MEXICO'S SECOND LARGEST CITY!

MULTICULTURALISM, IMMIGRATION AND AZTLAN

By Maria Hsia Chang Professor of Political Science, University of Nevada Reno

One of the standard arguments invoked by those in favor of massive immigration into the United States is that our country is founded on immigrants who have always been successfully assimilated into America's mainstream culture and society. As one commentator put it, "Assimilation evokes the misty past of Ellis Island, through which millions entered, eventually seeing their descendants become as American as George Washington."1 Nothing more vividly testifies against that romantic faith in America's ability to continuously assimilate new members than the events of October 16, 1994 in Los Angeles. On that day, 70,000 people marched beneath "a sea of Mexican flags" protesting Proposition 187, a referendum measure that would deny many state benefits to illegal immigrants and their children. Two weeks later, more protestors marched down the street, this time carrying an American flag upside down. Both protests point to a disturbing and rising phenomenon of Chicano separatism in the United States — the product of a complex of forces, among which are multiculturalism and a generous immigration policy combined with a lax border control. The Problem Chicanos refer to "people of Mexican descent in the United States" or "Mexican Americans in general." Today, there are reasons to believe that Chicanos as a group are unlike previous immigrants in that they are more likely to remain unassimilated and unintegrated, whether by choice or circumstance — resulting in the formation of a separate quasi-nation within the United States. More than that, there are Chicano political activists who intend to marry cultural separateness with territorial and political self-determination. The more moderate among them aspire to the cultural and political autonomy of "home rule". The radicals seek nothing less than secession from the United States whether to form their own sovereign state or to reunify with Mexico. Those who desire reunification with Mexico are irredentists who seek to reclaim Mexico's "lost" territories in the American Southwest.

Whatever their goals, what animates all of them is the dream of Aztlan. According to legend, Aztlan was the ancestral homeland of the Aztecs which they left in journeying southward to found Tenochtitlan, the center of their new civilization, which is today's Mexico City. Today, the "Nation of Aztlan" refers to the American southwestern states of California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, portions of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, which Chicano nationalists claim were stolen by the United States and must be reconquered (Reconquista) and reclaimed for Mexico. The myth of Aztlan was revived by Chicano political activists in the 1960s as a central symbol of Chicano nationalist ideology. In 1969, at the Chicano National Liberation Youth Conference in Denver, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales put forth a political document entitled El Plan de Aztlan (Spiritual Plan of Aztlan). The Plan is a clarion call to Mexican-Americans to form a separate Chicano nation: In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historial heritage, but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the nothern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers ...declare that the call of our blood is...our inevitable destiny.... Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops, and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent.... Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come .... With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan.

How Chicanos are Unlike Previous Immigrants Brent A. Nelson, writing in 1994, observed that in the 1980s America's Southwest had begun to be transformed into "a de facto nation" with its own culture, history, myth, geography, religion, education, and language. Whatever evidence there is indicates that Chicanos, as a group, are unlike previous waves of immigrants into the United States. In the first place, many Chicanos do not consider themselves immigrants at all because their people "have been here for 450 years" before the English, French, or Dutch. Before California and the Southwest were seized by the United States, they were the lands of Spain and Mexico. As late as 1780 the Spanish crown laid claim to territories from Florida to California, and on the far side of the Mississippi up to the Great Lakes and the Rockies. Mexico held title to much of Spanish possessions in the United States until the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican-American war in 1848. As a consequence, Mexicans "never accepted the borders drawn up by the 1848 treaty."

That history has created among Chicanos a feeling of resentment for being "a conquered people," made part of the United States against their will and by the force of arms. Their resentment is amply expressed by Voz Fronteriza, a Chicano student publication,

which referred to Border Patrol officers killed in the line of duty as "pigs (migra)" trying to defend "the false frontier."

Chicanos are also distinct from other immigrant groups because of the geographic proximity of their native country. Their physical proximity to Mexico gives Chicanos "the option of life in both Americas, in two places and in two cultures, something earlier immigrants never had." Geographic proximity and ease of transportation are augmented by the media. Radio and television keep the spoken language alive and current so that Spanish, unlike the native languages of previous immigrants into the United States, "shows no sign of fading."

A result of all that is the failure by Chicanos to be fully assimilated into the larger American society and culture. As Earl Shorris, author of Latinos: A Biography of the People, observed: "Latinos have been more resistant to the melting pot than any other group. Their entry en masse into the United States will test the limits of the American experiment...." The continuous influx of Mexican immigrants into the United States serve to continuously renew Chicano culture so that their sense of separateness will probably continue "far into the future...." There are other reasons for the failure of Chicano assimilation. Historically, a powerful force for assimilation was upward social mobility: Immigrants into the United States became assimilated as they rose in educational achievement and income. But today's post-industrial American economy, with its narrower paths to upward mobility, is making it more difficult for certain groups to improve their socioeconomic circumstances. Unionized factory jobs, which once provided a step up for the second generation of past waves of immigrants, have been disappearing for decades. Instead of the diamond-shaped economy of industrial America, the modern American economy is shaped like an hourglass. There is a good number of jobs for unskilled people at the bottom, a fair number of jobs for the highly educated at the top, but comparatively few jobs for those in the middle without a college education or special skills. To illustrate, a RAND Corporation study forecasts that 85 percent of California's new jobs will require post-secondary education. For a variety of reasons, the nationwide high-school dropout rate for Hispanics (the majority of whom are Chicano) is 30 percent — three times the rate for whites and twice the rate for blacks. Paradoxically, the dropout rate for Hispanics born in the United States is even higher than for young immigrants. Among Chicanos, high-school dropout rates actually rise between the second and third generations. Their low educational achievement accounts for why Chicanos as a group are poor despite being hardworking. In 1996, for the first time, Hispanic poverty rate began to exceed that of American blacks. In 1995, household income rose for every ethnic group except Hispanics, for whom it dropped 5 percent. Latinos now make up a quarter of the nation's poor people, and are more than three times as likely to be impoverished than whites. This decline in income has taken place despite high rates of labor-force participation by Latino men, and despite an emerging Latino middle class. In California, where Latinos now approach one-third of the population, their education levels are far lower than those of other immigrants, and they earn about half of what native-born Californians earn. This means that, for the first time in the history of American immigration, hard work is not leading to economic advancement because immigrants in service jobs face unrelenting labor-market pressure from more recently arrived immigrants who are eager to work for less. The narrowing of the pathways of upward mobility has implications for the children of recent Mexican immigrants. Their ascent into the middle-class mainstream will likely be blocked and they will join children of earlier black and Puerto Rican migrants as part of an expanded multiethnic underclass. Whereas first generation immigrants compare their circumstances to the Mexico that they left — and thereby feel immeasurably better off — their children and grandchildren will compare themelves to other U.S. groups. Given their lower educational achievement and income, that comparison will only lead to feelings of relative deprivation and resentment. They are unlikely to be content as maids, gardeners, or fruit pickers. Many young Latinos in the second and third generations see themselves as locked in irremediable conflict with white society, and are quick to deride successful Chicano students as "wannabes." For them, to study hard is to "act white" and exhibit group disloyalty. That attitude is part of the Chicano culture of resistance — a culture that actively resists assimilation into mainstream America. That culture is created, reinforced, and maintained by radical Chicano intellectuals, politicians, and the many Chicano Studies programs in U.S. colleges and universities. As examples, according to its editor, Elizabeth Martinez, the purpose of Five Hundred Years of Chicano History, a book used in over 300 schools throughout the West, is to "celebrate our resistance to being colonized and absorbed by racist empire builders." The book calls the INS and the Border Patrol "the Gestapo for Mexicans."

For Rodolfo Acuna, author of Occupied America: The Chicano's Struggle Toward Liberation, probably the most widely assigned text in U.S. Chicano Studies programs, the Anglo-American invasion of Mexico was "as vicious as that of Hitler's invasion of Poland and other Central European nations...." The book also includes a map showing "the Mexican republic" in 1822 reaching up into Kansas and Oklahoma, and including within it Utah, Nevada, and everything west and south of there

"This is country belongs to Mexico" is said by the Mexican Militant. This is a common teaching that the U.S. is really AZTLAN, belonging to Mexicans, which is taught to Mexican kids in Arizona and California through a LA Raza educational program funded by American Tax Payers via President Obama, when he gave LA RAZA $800,000.00 in March of 2009!

Alien Nation: Common Sense About America's Immigration Disaster

Author Peter Brimelow

The controversial, bestselling book that helps define the debate about one of the most important and hotly contested issues facing America: immigration.

From Publishers Weekly: Forbes senior editor Brimelow's alarmist, slashing anti-immigration manifesto is likely to stir debate. He maintains that the 1965 Immigration Act and its recent amplifications choked off immigration from northern and western Europe while selectively reopening U.S. borders to a huge influx of minorities from Third World countries. Many of these latter entrants are unskilled and require welfare support, and those who do work may adversely affect opportunities for poorer Americans, especially blacks, according to Brimelow. Because of multicultural programs, he charges, the new immigrants are not expected to assimilate, and thus they retain their separateness. Illegal immigration?two to three million entries a year?plus one million legal immigrants annually are causing, by his reckoning, an "ethnic revolution," because Asians, Hispanics, Middle Easterners and others shift America's balance away from the white majority, creating a strife-torn, multiracial society. Brimelow calls for an end to all illegal immigration, a drastic cutback in legal immigration, policies favoring skilled immigrants and elimination of all payments and free public education for illegals and their children. Copyright 1995 Reed Business Information, Inc. From Library Journal "Immigration has consequences," Brimelow (a Forbes senior editor and a contributor to the National Review) interjects repeatedly through this scattershot, argumentative tract against current immigration policy and practice. Claiming that the 1965 Immigration Act and later legislation in 1986 and 1990 have worsened a host of economic, political, and social problems in the United States, Brimelow cites supporters and critics alike of American immigration policy and his own interpretation of immigration statistics to disprove commonly held beliefs about immigrants' contributions to America, which he believes have been overemphasized. Brimelow argues that our environment is endangered, our public health threatened, our economy strained, our national unity diluted, and our politics fragmented all by an immigration policy that is out of control and captive to a ruling "elite," which he associates with the liberal establishment and political correctness. Though Brimelow scores some points in his shrill attack, his highly politicized and provocative language which often relies on ethnic stereotypes makes this book a polemic guaranteed to rally the faithful and offend most others.
