A Foreign Billionaire Funds Dems’ Hunter Biden Defense

“We are proud Americans speaking up against an extreme agenda that is putting money and power over everyday Americans,” Courage for America’s mission statement claims.

If you have any doubt whatsoever that CFA is an American organization, its home page is decorated with a flag draped over a barn. The ‘O’ in its logo even includes flag symbolism.

CFA has announced that it’s “forming a council of proud Americans” to fight Republican investigations into the foreign business dealings of Hunter Biden and the rest of the Biden clan.

Waving the flag to cover up the intimidation of elected officials investigating dirty deals with Chinese and Russian oligarchs is a new low even for Biden and his cronies.

Will Hansjörg Wyss, the Swiss billionaire allegedly backing CFA, be on the council of proud Americans? It would be awkward for the foreign tycoon to sit on a “council of proud Americans” since he is not, as far as even the media has been able to determine, an American citizen.

Instead, he appears to be living in America under an investor visa.

That hasn’t stopped the wealthy European from using his fortune to drastically influence American politics with the complicity of the IRS, the FEC and the rest of the government.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Wyss, who was accused of getting rich while killing patients, has broken the rules. And nothing says “proud Americans” fighting for “every American” like a secretive organization that doesn’t list its staff and appears to be funded by a foreign billionaire.

Wyss co-founded Synthes, a medical device manufacturer focused on repairing broken bones. In 2010, Synthes pled guilty to illegally experimenting on patients: its president, and its spine division president and two other executives were sentenced to prison. Even though a manager testified that Wyss had made the decision not to go through clinical trials, and owned half the company, he was not charged and has gone on funding the extreme causes of the Left.

The 5 Americans who died were not so lucky. Some of the dead, like Barbara Marcelino, showed signs of the cement used by Wyss’ company, in their lungs.

Wyss’ Hub Project has poured its money into everything from Democrat redistricting efforts to automatic voter registration with a massive impact on our elections. But this time the Hub appears to be focused on playing defense for Democrats against GOP investigations.

“Our goal is to go on offense against the new House majority,” said Zac Petkanas, Hillary’s former rapid response director, and a political strategist now working on behalf of Courage for America, bragged. “We are going to be pointing out the things that those investigations are distracting from.”

And who better to distract Americans from those investigations into Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals than a shadowy dark money group allegedly funded by a foreign billionaire?

NBC News has reported that Courage for America has a “seven-figure budget and support from the Hub Project, a giant Democratic dark money network, the group plans a robust operation including polling, paid advertising and social media campaigns, along with traditional opposition research and communications.”

But what NBC didn’t bother to mention was that the Hub Project appears to have been set up by the Wyss Foundation. A complaint by Americans for Public Trust noted in a filing that the Hub Project’s business plan “recommended that the group ‘be solely funded by the Wyss Foundation at the outset’ and that it would work behind the scenes to “dramatically shift the public debate and policy positions of core decision makers.”

Courage for America wants to target the Republican House majority and help Democrats fight off investigations into scandals like Hunter Biden and his foreign business operations.

GOP members of the House Oversight and Reform Committee have found 50 countries where the Biden family has looked into doing business. And they also intend to investigate Joe Biden’s role in some of those ventures. These hearings will potentially look into everything from Hunter’s Chinese-backed cobalt mine deal to a Russian oligarch. And the Democrats will defend against allegations that Biden, his brother and his son engaged in dubious business deals with shady foreign tycoons by turning to yet another shady foreign tycoon.

“The American people need to be introduced and educated about the extremist agenda of this new House and also who these members are,” CFA’s Petkanas blustered.

The CFA is so open that its site doesn’t even mention  Petkanas, or Naveed Shah: its spokesman. Not only are CFA’s donors secret, but so are its staff and leadership. Instead of listing its staff, CFA references its “council” to divert attention from who is running the show.

That’s suspicious behavior for an organization that claims that it’s all about transparency. CFA is even working with another group calling itself the Congressional Integrity Project which vows to expose the “reality behind Republicans’ politically motivated oversight and investigations targeting President Biden and Democrats.” Nothing says integrity like a dark money machine helping Biden and his cronies intimidate elected officials investigating his corrupt activities.

The level of coordination between CFA, CIP and the Biden administration was revealed when the Washington Post mentioned that, “while the CIP is not formally tied to the White House, its leaders have spoken with President Biden’s aides and it recently brought on Jeff Peck, a former chief-of-staff to Biden from his time in the Senate.”

Biden appears to be covertly coordinating with a dark money machine group funded by a foreign billionaire to stop investigations into his dealings with foreign business interests.

If that’s not impeachable conduct, what is?

“These are sham investigations,” Kyle Herrig of CIP fumed. “We’re going to leave no stone unturned. No one has done the investigative research we’ve done on these investigators. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

“We have a multimillion-dollar budget, and we’re staffing up with a team of researchers and communicators,” he warned.

Where does that “multimillion-dollar budget” come from?

Dark money means that no one knows. The Washington Examiner couldn’t find anyone at CIP’s supposed offices and its spokesperson wouldn’t even provide a name.

This plot to fight investigations into corruption and abuses by the Biden administration has only revived questions about Wyss and his money machine. And the legality of his ongoing efforts to influence our political system for the benefit of the Democrats and the Left.

This is the phenomenon discussed in Internal Radical Service by David Horowitz and John Perazzo. The pamphlet from the David Horowitz Freedom Center began our project of exposing the abuses of the tax code by the political operations of the Left. While the IRS investigates conservative nonprofits on behalf of its allies in the White House, it allows leftists foundations and nonprofits, especially those allied with Biden, to flout the law and corrupt our system.

Biden’s effort to obstruct the investigations into the family business rely on a tangled network that includes David Brock’s Facts First USA, which we previously investigated, and groups which appear to derive their support from a foreign billionaire. This is the definition of corruption.

7) Media Ignore Alleged Payouts to Biden Family Detailed in Hunter’s Texts

In April, the media reported that Hunter Biden had received $4.8 million in payments from a Chinese energy company. Yet it failed to mention the payout mechanism by which the Biden family likely profited from peddling influence.

Hunter’s texts seem to indicate Joe Biden received 50 percent of his son’s “salary” for a 30-year period. The texts do not indicate when the 30 years began or ended and whether Joe Biden is still a part of the payment scheme as president.

The New York Times’s and the Washington Post’s decisions to ignore the inner workings of the Biden family business is not surprising. The texts could reveal the core of an entrenched business enterprise. The texts also appear to connect the current Joe Biden to the family’s corrupt business dealings.

American people deserve to know what China was up to with Joe Biden, especially when Beijing had already shelled out millions of dollars to Biden family members — including millions in set-asides for “the big guy.” What else is on that infamous Hunter Biden laptop? Waltz: Biden Hasn’t Figured out Ukraine Strategy or Won’t Tell Congress

1:36

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) stated “there needs to be a lot more in terms of oversight and strategy” for American aid to Ukraine and the Biden administration either hasn’t decided its policy or isn’t telling Congress.

Waltz said, “[O]ur policy can’t just be open-ended, continuing to come back to the American people for billions of dollars until Zelensky decides the conditions are right for negotiation. … Ukraine cannot continue their offensive or probably even their defense without significant U.S. support. And oh, by the way, the Europeans need to step up and do a lot more. So, is our policy to continue to provide that military support even if Ukraine pushes Russia past that 2014 line or even back into Russian borders? Will we continue to support Zelensky if he goes on the offensive into Crimea, even though Putin has said that is part of Russia, under its nuclear umbrella? These are the types of things that either the administration has decided and aren’t telling us or they haven’t quite figured out yet. And it should be and under a Republican-led Congress, those are the questions we need to be asking. We’re also pushing for an IG to oversee the aid for better oversight on the ground. I think we owe that to the American people. I support the effort, but there needs to be a lot more in terms of oversight and strategy here.”

The Big Question about Ukraine

As 2022 comes to an end, consumers of the news have one question on their minds as daily requests for more military aid arrive from Ukraine.

How much has the American government given to Ukraine already?

No, this isn't going to be a column about The Big Question: should we be on Ukraine's side in this war or not?  Should we be on Russia's, or should we be neutral?  That's a different question, one that should have been a campaign issue in the mismanaged election of 2022.  (But it wasn't.  Hmm.  Wonder why.)

The question on our minds, as we seem to give millions more every week, one way or another, is just this: how much money (or in the case of goods and services, like warplanes and missiles and ammo and training) have we put in President Zelensky's hands already this year?

Various sources differ, but the number appears to be somewhere between $50 and $100 billion so far.

Not how much has Mr. Zelensky had to spend...but after winding its way through the four-million-plus-strong federal workforce, how much has Ukraine netted from us?

Now, that's not counting what we've done for Ukraine in other ways, such as issuing sanctions, which one could argue have hurt American companies more than they've hurt Russia.  (Remember, when you don't import much from a country, the only significant effect of sanctions is stopping your own exporters from selling to it.  Lots of American businesses have lost countless billions in sales this year by cutting loose all their Russian customers.)

The number that is thrown out at the media each time Congress or the White House proposes another package for Ukraine is the amount it will cost the United States government.  The CFR recently estimated that we have allocated $23 billion on armaments alone this year, so far, not counting the $45 billion in the year-end $1.7-trillion "omnibus" spend-a-thon.

That's so much money that we normal American civilians can't calculate it (and the odds are, the politicians in Washington, D.C. can't, either).

But there's a different question to ask, one that we need to ask much more, in this context.

Is this an efficient means of accomplishing our goal, or could it be done more cheaply?

As December comes to a close, many Americans take out our checkbooks and write year-end donations to the charities we want to support.  How much is left, after paying the bills, buying the presents, funding the projects of the year?

Before we write those checks, what do we do?  We go online and research the charities.  There are sources available today, sources that didn't exist 50 or 100 years ago (perhaps they weren't needed so badly then, in a more honest, more honorable age), to help us understand how much a charity spends on fundraising services, on staff, on offices.

Does the charity have three floors of a Manhattan skyscraper, or does it have a humble building in a small Midwestern town?  Does it spend tens of millions on staff, or just hundreds of thousands, or perhaps nothing, being an all-volunteer organization?  We can find out whether 90 cents of every dollar received goes to administration, or 90 cents of every dollar goes to the intended beneficiaries, or if it's somewhere in between.

It varies widely, and the answer determines who gets those contributions from us, today and every day.

So our question today, as the citizens being asked (okay, being told) to fund these gifts to Ukraine, has to be related.  With all these billions, are we really getting our bang for the buck?

It's a war, they tell us.  We can't be quite that exact.

But there are things we know, from other discussions about the funding of our own war machine over the generations.  Some systems are better against some enemies than against others.  Some humanitarian assistance is more effective in some environments than others.  Some weapons are costlier; some make more money for one congressional district than another, more for one state than another.  Unlike a tank, which we hope will last a long time, a bomb just has to blow up once.  Does it really have to cost as much as it does?

These are the questions we used to have time to ask.

Those of us old enough to remember the news coverage of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s will remember debates on the funding of every model from sidearms to fighter jets, from K-rations to MASH unit tents.  How much of this have we heard or seen from Washington regarding our funding of the Russo-Ukrainian War?

Oddly enough — or perhaps not so oddly — we have seen these detailed public analyses diminish over the years, just as the bureaucratic state has mushroomed.  Every federal department and agency has grown in power and reach, far beyond its original charter.  The oversight provided by Congress is largely limited to budgetary expenditures.  Legislators barely look at a balance sheet; we can hardly expect them to study the Federal Register to see if the agencies' regulations are in line with the purpose Congress had in establishing these agencies in the first place.

And in this same era, we have seen hints — sometimes more than hints, glaring stacks of evidence — that politicians and bureaucrats have conflicts of interest, possibly outright bribery, sometimes even undeniable treason, as a result of the financial temptations that such unlimited, unwatched power affords.  (See Clinton Cash and Profiles in Corruption by Peter Schweizer, Culture of Corruption by Michelle Malkin, and so many other such exposés over the years.

Whom do we blame, for this or for any such waste, no matter whether the charity is a local soup kitchen, a national nonprofit, or even a foreign country?  Do we blame the recipient of the money or the donor?  Should we perhaps blame an irresponsible news media that has little interest in asking the questions?

Let's think of it this way.  If it costs a charity 70 percent of a $100,000 donation to net $30,000 to spend, that's $30,000 the charity didn't have yesterday.  It will be happy to have the money, for wheelchairs or soup, or for research labs or counseling centers.  We can't blame it; we should blame ourselves for not selecting more frugal charities to donate to.

Similarly, we can't entirely blame Volodymyr Zelensky if we keep pouring cash into his coffers, possibly without the perfect oversight, possibly without targeting the right projects with a sharp eye to administrative costs.  That oversight was our job, as the writer of the checks; it was the job of a Congress that has been abdicating this responsibility for generations.

We hear rumors — reports of wild European shopping trips, of politicians' wives traveling with bags of money, of poor people being elected to office and soon owning multiple mansions.  We see blatant bribe money being spent on cocaine and hookers.  How does it happen?

Shouldn't Congress and the news media be telling us?

Ukraine plans to make official its alliance with the global elite

Putin is a vile dictator, and the Ukrainian people have been terribly harmed by the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. On that, all decent people can agree. However, many people have wondered why our political class has put Ukraine’s interests ahead of the interests of the American people. The fact that Ukraine has long been a money-laundering hub hints at the answer: the elite need to keep it propped up. A further hint emerged today when we learned that Volodymyr Zelensky plans to participate in the World Economic Forum and seeks a partnership with BlackRock.

Eastern Ukraine has long been very close to Russia, not just geographically but also culturally. The latter fact came about because Stalin began moving Russians into the region to bring it closer to the USSR. I learned that in 2014 when Putin invaded Ukraine on Obama’s watch, and I had the chance to speak with a brilliant but very hard-left expert in the region.

For Putin, not only is Eastern Ukraine a de facto Russian territory, but the entire nation of Ukraine is a buffer against pressure from the West. Because Russia is nothing like the powerful monolith that the USSR was, he sees having some distance between Russia and NATO as a good thing. That’s why it was a massive threat to Putin’s perception of Russia’s national security when the Biden administration and Ukraine started pushing for Ukraine’s admission into NATO.

Image: Zelensky makes his demands in Congress. YouTube screen grab.

Speaking of Biden, every conservative knows (but, sadly, few Democrats do) that Biden has a great, a really, really great, relationship with Ukraine. After all, it was Ukraine’s Burisma that gave Hunter Biden a seat on its board for $85,000 per month. That Hunter knew nothing about Burisma’s business and spoke no Ukrainian or Russian was irrelevant. What mattered was that Hunter’s daddy, who was then Vice President, made sure to shut down an investigation into corruption between Burisma and the government. Well, son of a bitch….

Speaking of financial corruption and Ukraine, we also learned recently that the entire Democrat political class, plus several RINOs, had a sweetheart deal with Ukraine. Ukraine used American taxpayer dollars to invest in FTX, and then FTX invested in the American Uniparty. Again, American interests have no place in this financial cuddlefest.

Since the war started, our government has gone all in on it. Indeed, Mitch McConnell firmly announced that Ukraine is the most pressing issue for the Republican party. Not open borders, not fentanyl deaths, not inflation, not unemployment, not any of the other deeply damaging events in America…just Ukraine. The $1.7 trillion spend-a-thon that the Uniparty passed reinforces that sense because, even as the bill arranges to pour more money into Ukraine and the FBI, it does almost nothing for ordinary Americans who don’t qualify as special interest groups.

It’s almost as if our government’s interests are aligned with a globalist rather than an American agenda. And when it comes to globalism, nothing beats the World Economic Forum and BlackRock. It seems almost inevitable that Zelensky is turning to both for his country’s post-war revival:

On Wednesday it was revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s government is prepping to participate in January’s World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, and that the Ukrainian leader is in talks with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink regarding rebuilding efforts following the war with Russia.

According to Bloomberg, Zelensky said in an evening address to the nation, "Specialists of this company are already helping Ukraine to structure the fund for the reconstruction of our state."

You can read the details here. Suffice it to say that it’s telling that, after we funded his war, Zelensky hands the post-war profits to a globalist company and seeks guidance from the WEF, which envisions a world in which “you’ll have nothing and like it.” (The threat behind that statement, the implied “or else,” naturally goes without saying.)

Top 10 Stories the Establishment Media Ignored in 2022

The establishment media ignored multiple relevant news stories in 2022. Here are the top ten stories the media failed to report:

1) Media Ignore Election Denier Hakeem Jeffries’ Assault on Democracy

In November, ten establishment media outlets, including Fox News, initially did not seem to care Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who became House Democrat minority leader, was an election denier.

Following the midterm elections, during which many media outlets constantly pointed to particular Republican candidates as “election deniers,” the media failed to hold Democrat Jeffries to the same standard.

Jeffries has attacked democracy by denying the legitimacy of American elections more than 100 times.

2) Media Ignore ‘Twitter File’ Drop Exposing FBI, Intel Community Collusion with Platform

In December, the media ignored the seventh “Twitter File” release that exposed the FBI and intelligence community’s role in censoring the “Laptop from Hell” story first reported in 2020 by Breitbart News’s Emma-Jo Morris.

The Washington PostNew York Times, Politico Playbook, Politico Punchbowl News, and the Los Angeles Times all ignored that the FBI and intelligence community “discredited factual information about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings both after and *before* The New York Post revealed the contents of his laptop on October 14, 2020,″ according to journalist Michael Shellenberger.

3) Media Ignore Durham Investigation of Hillary Clinton’s Operatives Allegedly Spying on Trump

In February, the media ignored news from the John Durham investigation that alleged Hillary Clinton’s campaign operatives spied on Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and subsequent presidency.

After the revelations of Clinton’s alleged shenanigans broke, the New York TimesWashington PostWall Street Journal, CBS News, NBC News, and ABC News all ignored one of the largest political scandals of the past decade.

Rasmussen Reports noted the Associated Press, New York TimesWashington Post, and Wall Street Journal continued to ignore the scandal for more than 48 hours. The publications instead preferred to direct readers’ attention to the Super Bowl and the Olympics in Communist China.

4) Media Ignore Joe Biden’s Involvement with Theranos

In January, the media ignored Joe Biden’s involvement with Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, when he was vice president.

The Wall Street JournalNew York Times, and Washington Post ran headlines on home pages about Holmes’ conviction of fraud without referencing the stories of Joe Biden’s involvement.

Even though Biden praised Holmes in 2015 for “maintaining the highest standards” in developing lower-cost blood lab tests with only a prick of blood, the establishment media ignored Biden’s praise for Holmes, who was found guilty of four charges of fraud.

5) Media Ignore It Was Wrong About Hunter’s Laptop Being ‘Russian Disinformation’

In March, the media ignored its duty to come clean about its false reporting that Hunter’s “laptop from hell” was “Russian disinformation.”

Specifically, the Huffington Post, The Intercept, and MotherJones failed to retract reporting on a now-debunked Politico story from 2020 that claimed Hunter’s laptop was “Russian disinfo,” according to “dozens of former intel officials.”

The media used Politico’s headline and spread their own disinformation. “Giuliani and the New York Post Are Pushing Russian Disinformation. It’s a Big Test for the Media,” MotherJones claimed.

6) Media Ignore Physical Attack on Republican Candidate Gen. Don Bolduc

In November, the media ignored the physical attack against Republican New Hampshire candidate for United States Senate Gen. Don Bolduc.

The three top newspapers, the New York TimesWashington Post, and Los Angeles Times, failed to recognize the physical attack on Gen. Bolduc that occurred moments before a key debate with Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH).

8) CNN Fails to Admit Hunter Biden’s Laptop Is Authentic Until 532 Days After Initial Report

In March, CNN finally admitted Hunter’s “laptop from hell” was authentic 532 days after the initial story broke on October 24, 2020, which the network falsely claimed at the time was “Russian disinformation” and “made up.”

CNN only admitted Hunter’s laptop was authentic after the New York Times verified it two weeks prior. It took the Times nearly two years to acknowledge what was authenticated in 2020 by Breitbart News’s Emma-Jo Morris.

Notably, CNN’s former president Jeff Zucker had labeled Hunter’s laptop story a “Breitbart… rabbit hole” and unworthy of coverage.

9) Brian Stelter Spends Exactly 0 Seconds Rectifying Media’s False Claims that Hunter Biden’s Laptop Emails Were ‘Russian Disinformation’

In March, CNN’s Brian Stelter spent zero seconds on his show Reliable Sources discussing the New York Times’s admission that the New York Post’s October 2020 reporting on Hunter’s laptop was accurate after all. He also refused to acknowledge his false claim that Hunter’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.”

After the New York Times admitted Hunter’s laptop was authentic, instead of disclosing his role in spreading misinformation, Stelter totally ignored his false claims on CNN and spoke zero seconds about his role in pushing the false “Russian disinformation” narrative.

10) Media Ignore FBI’s Handling of Biden Family Business Whistleblower Intel

In September, the media ignored revelations the FBI warned Facebook of the imminent “dump” of “Russian propaganda” before the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop broke during the 2020 election cycle.

While the FBI was communicating with Facebook, the FBI’s leadership blocked agents from investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop until after the 2020 election was decided, Senate whistleblowers say.

Not everyone ignored the story. CNN reporter Sarah Sidner tweeted that questions surrounding the Biden family business scheme are “serious,” “legitimate,” and nonpartisan.
