EXCLUSIVE: Mexican Migrant Wanted for Murder of Five Hondurans Deported 3 Times, Says Texas Sheriff
CLEVLAND, Texas — Immigration officers deported the Mexican man wanted in connection to Friday night’s alleged murder of five Honduran nationals on three occasions, according to the Texas sheriff leading the investigation. The most recent removal came in 2016.
San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers told Breitbart Texas on Sunday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers deported 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza, a Mexican national now wanted for five alleged murders, in three separate incidents. Sheriff Capers and other sources advised that the last time ICE officers removed Oropeza was in 2016.
Breitbart Texas reached out to ICE media officials for additional information regarding Oropeza’s immigration history. An immediate response was not available.
Sheriff Capers said a multi-agency task force continues to search for Oropeza in connection to the alleged murder of five people who lived next door to him in a rural area of Cleveland. The Mexican national reportedly shot and killed the five Honduran nationals after one of them complained of him firing a rifle outside shortly before midnight Friday night, Breitbart Texas reported.
Of the ten people living in the home at the time of the shooting, five are now dead, the East Texas Sheriff explained. The five decedents are identified as:
Julisa Molina Rivera, age 31
Sonia Argentina Guzman, age 25
Diana Velazquez Alvarado, age 21
Jose Jonathan Casarez, age 18
Daniel Enrique Laso, age 8
The eight-year-old boy reportedly died at the hospital. The four other victims were found dead at the scene.
During a Saturday afternoon press conference, Sheriff Capers and the FBI reported they had recovered Oropeza’s cell phone and some discarded clothing. A prison tracking dog search for the fugitive but lost the scent when the man entered a waterway.
“Our number one priority,” the sheriff began, “has been to locate this suspect and put him behind bars where he belongs.”
FBI Special Agent in Charge James Smith announced they are assisting in the investigation and manhunt. They cautioned that Oropeza is considered to be armed and a danger to the community.
“We’re still out there trying to find this individual,” Smith said. “We consider him armed and dangerous and we’re not going to stop until we actually arrest him and bring him into custody.”
Sheriff Capers explained they believe they have the murder weapon in their possession but the suspected killer could be armed with a smaller weapon.
“He could be anywhere now,” Sheriff Capers stated.

Police Seek ‘Mexican Male’ in Shooting That Killed 5 in Texas
Law enforcement officials are seeking a “Mexican male” in connection with a shooting that left five people dead in Cleveland, Texas, Friday night, Fox News reports.
The San Jacinto Sheriff’s Office received a “harassment” call and responding deputies found four victims shot to death and an eight-year-old boy critically wounded.
The boy was transported to a hospital, where he died.
All of the victims are believed to be from Honduras, according to San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers.
Capers said his office received the “harassment” call at 11:31 p.m.
Capers said law enforcement is actively searching for the “Mexican male subject” believed to be the shooter and have “a copy of his consulate card.”
He said the Mexican man “has been known to shoot his .223 in the front yard, which is evident from the shell casings in the front yard.”
Capers believes the suspect has fled the area.

ABC News reports that San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers believes the homicides occurred after the suspect became enraged over being asked to quit shooting a gun in his front yard.
Capers said, “My understanding is that the victims, they came over to the fence and said ‘Hey could [you not do your] shooting out in the yard? We have a young baby that’s trying to go to sleep,’ and he had been drinking and he says ‘I’ll do what I want to in my front yard.'”
He also noted that two of the five shooting victims were lying on top of children who survived the attack. Capers said, “In my opinion, they were actually trying to take care of the babies and keep [the] babies alive.”
The suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Francisco Oropeza, a Mexican national.
Capers said there were 10 people in the house — some of whom has just moved there earlier in the week — but that that no one else was injured. He said two of the victims, all believed to be from Honduras, were found laying over two children in a bedroom.
Two other victims, a male and female, were found by the front door and the slain child was in the front room. Capers said three other “blood-covered” children were found in the home and taken to a hospital, where they were determined to be uninjured.

Three of the victims were women and one was a man. Their names were not released. Capers said the victims were between the ages of 8 and about 40 years old.
Capers said his deputies had been to Oropeza’s home at least once before and spoken with him about “shooting his gun in the yard.” It was not immediately clear whether any action was taken at the time.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — A Texas Department of Public Safety official told Breitbart Texas that Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents took nearly 21,000 Venezuelan migrants into custody during a 12-day period. The spokesman compared the current Venezuelan migrant surge to that of the 2021 Haitian migrant crisis in Del Rio, Texas. During the 2021 crisis, nearly 20,000 Haitian migrants crossed into Del Rio from Mexico during a 17-day period.
DPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez told Breitbart Texas that Rio Grande Valley agents working with DPS troopers and Texas Military Department soldiers took 20,865 migrants into custody during a 12-day period ending on Friday, April 27. Most of these Venezuelan migrants cross the Rio Grande from Mexico in the immediate vicinity of Brownsville, Texas. The current surge of Venezuelan migrants appears to have no end in sight.
In what has become a daily occurrence in this South Texas border city, large groups of migrants continued to cross the border into Brownsville on Saturday. Breitbart observed the activity near the now-defunct Fort Brown Memorial Golf Course and witnessed multiple law enforcement agencies receiving the surrendering migrants continuously throughout the day.

The golf course was permanently closed in 2015 after border wall construction sealed off the course from the surrounding community. It is now the site of a massive influx of mostly Venezuelan migrants. A makeshift camp set up to deal with the steady flow of more than ten thousand migrants this week was bustling with law enforcement agents providing security for the migrants awaiting transportation to Border Patrol processing facilities.
The camp underwent significant improvements during the past week. Over the last several days, local authorities brought in heavy equipment to clear overgrown brush. City of Brownsville Emergency Management vehicles moved about the area as workers added asphalt paving material to unimproved roads around the camp as well. The Brownsville Fire Department staged ambulances at the site in preparation for what could be a significant humanitarian crisis if the volume of large groups of migrants continues crossing into the area.
The scene is reminiscent of the Haitian migrant crisis of 2021 with 19,752 migrants crossing the border from Mexico into the border town of Del Rio, Texas, Lt. Olivarez stated. The surge of Haitian migrants forced Del Rio Sector agents to contain the migrants in a makeshift camp under the Del Rio international bridge, Breitbart Texas reported. Despite promises made to deport the migrants to Haiti by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Haitian migrants were released into the U.S. interior in large numbers.

The current volume of Venezuelan migrant groups crossing into Brownsville quickly exceeded the capacity of Border Patrol processing facilities in the area. The impact of the migrant surge can also be seen on the downtown streets of Brownsville. Near the city center, migrants can be seen on city sidewalks near the La Plaza Bus Terminal waiting to depart the border city for other parts of the country.
A local charity shelter run by volunteers receives nearly 700 migrants released by the Border Patrol daily and assists the migrants with meeting transportation needs. Not all the migrants have sufficient funds to quickly depart the city. For those migrants, park gazebos and benches provide a resting place as they wait to receive funds from sponsors or family members in the United States.
In response to the surge, Texas DPS and National Guard soldiers assigned to Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star deployed to the region to set up a vehicle barrier and attempt to turn back migrants attempting to cross the border from Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

“We are mobilizing additional State Troopers and National Guard to Brownsville to deter illegal entries between the ports of entry,” Olivarez told Breitbart. He added the units will deploy razor-wire barriers to help prevent the crossings. “The goal is to redirect those who are crossing the Rio Grande to the port of entry,” he explained.
“There are thousands waiting to cross,” the DPS spokesman stated.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector reported the apprehension of only 17,958 migrants who crossed the border from Mexico between ports of entry in March, according to the monthly CBP Nationwide Encounters report. The apprehension of nearly 21,000 Venezuelan migrants during a 12-day period indicates the April apprehension numbers will be significantly higher.

MS-13 Gang Member, Released from Prison, Charged with Killing Uber Eats Driver in ‘Demonic’ Murder
An MS-13 Gang member, recently released from prison on parole, is now charged with murdering an Uber Eats driver in a case that police call “demonic” in Holiday, Florida.
Oscar Solis, a 30-year-old MS-13 Gang member, was arrested on April 24 for allegedly murdering and dismembering 59-year-old Randall Cooke, a husband and stepfather, on April 19, as he was delivering food to the gang member’s home in his final delivery for the night.
“This person, you always say the word ‘evil,’ but this is demonic. This individual, what he did was demonic,” Paso County Sheriff Chris Nocco said. “… this person killed him for no reason and took him away from his family.”
According to the Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Cooke was texting with his wife, Kathy, whom he married in 2020, on the night of his murder. Cooke had one final Uber Eats delivery to make, a job he got to support his wife and stepdaughters’ dreams of living oceanside.
Police said security camera footage shows Cooke making the delivery at Solis’s residence before the camera shuts off. From there, police believe Solis yanked Cooke inside the home, murdered him, dismembered his body, and then stuffed his remains in trash bags, which he later took out to garbage cans with another suspect.

Cooke’s blood and wedding ring were found inside Solis’s residence, and police discovered his remains in the trash bags a couple of days after the alleged murder.
“He was always just so happy and just trying to have fun and laugh, all the time,” Cooke’s stepdaughter Melany Dzoba told local media, while his other stepdaughter said Cooke and her mother “shared so many amazing memories together.”
Police said Solis had been recently released on parole, in January, from prison in Indiana and then moved to Holiday, Florida, and failed to register as a convicted felon — a violation of his parole.
Solis has a lengthy criminal record that includes stabbing a fellow prison inmate multiple times, aggravated battery, multiple burglary convictions, drug offenses, resisting law enforcement, and assaulting prison staff.
“Indiana released him, and he came down to Florida,” Nocco said. “They released him on parole. Unfortunately, now we have a hardworking guy, a loving husband who is no longer with us because this violent individual killed him.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Cooke’s wife and stepdaughters.
