Do you think it matters that our alleged president has fallen myriad times and can’t get up? You do? You sap.
Watching President Gumby trip all over mystery sandbags at the Air Force Academy just reinforces what we all already know. He’s a senile, desiccated, crusty weirdo with delusions of mental competence. And no one cares, at least no one with the power to put this broken nag out to pasture. The mass of normal people might care if they really understood just how far the decay has gotten. Fortunately, we have a fearless truth-telling class of journalists who are unwilling to allow off-narrative facts to prevent them from bravely speaking truth to power. And if you believe that, you need to watch out for those cunning sandbags because you’re mentally defective too.
Now, we could spend some time talking about the massive hypocrisy at play. We could scream “Imagine if this bumbling fool was a Republican!” But we don’t have to imagine. We know. Donald Trump walked down a wet ramp and steadied himself and this was a five-alarm 25th Amendment emergency. But Grandpa Badfinger spills all over the place, whether on a bike or an airplane ladder or a flat surface, and it’s no big deal. It’s racist for you to even notice. Or maybe sexist, or transphobic. It’s something bad.
But let’s not get stuck on the whole hypocrisy thing. Sure, it’s hypocritical. No one cares, at least no one with power. We hardcores don’t care. We are based. We know the regime media’s entire purpose is to reinforce the narrative du jour of the ruling class. Today, it’s going to be that a president’s ability to perform basic functions is irrelevant. Tomorrow, with another Republican, it’ll be super-relevant once again only because it will be useful again. We shouldn’t bother pointing it out to each other. We shouldn’t bother highlighting the difference between how they treated Trump’s personal life and how they’ve treated Hunter’s stripper-baby’s granddaddy. Crying about hypocrisy has gotten boring, and to display shock over the double standards betrays a tiresome naïveté, as if we somehow believe that there’s some sort of rule out there that compels consistency, objectivity, and fairness. We know there’s none of that. Facts and truth are irrelevant to the situation. There is only power, which means we’ve got to get power and use it to crush the left. They’ll cry. They’ll complain. They’ll tell us it’s against our conservative principles to fight our enemies, and our proper response is to laugh at them. And to keep crushing them.
To the extent pointing out hypocrisy is useful, it only is when it comes to normal people. You know, the kind of people who don’t sit on Twitter all day, or watch the news, or do pretty much anything except drink their Bud Light and enjoy corporate sportsball. Talking about hypocrisy sometimes works on them, and it’s adorable when it does. It’s cute, because they still believe. They have faith in our institutions. They have this childlike understanding of the world that assumes that there’s some sort of referee out there who’s going to apply neutral rules, and make it all better for us. They’re actually stunned when they see the regime media lie. They’re actually shocked when they see two standards applied, one to the damn communists and one to us patriots. It’s kind of refreshing to see people so innocent. And it’s kind of sad to see people so dumb.
It’s hard to accept that our country has changed fundamentally, as Obama promised it would, from a society where we had a pretty fair shot at the fair application of the rules to a place where the rules don’t exist at all. Chairman Mao, who the left would love to be if they weren’t invertebrate sissies who can’t do push-ups, and for whom a long march consists of walking down to and back from the end of the Chardonnay aisle of the Trader Joe’s, pointed out that power comes from the barrel of a gun. Of course, the only guns they have are ones wielded by our sons and daughters who, in another burst of delightful naïveté, joined our woke military in the belief that it’s still about protecting our country instead of manufacturing politically indoctrinated young people and fighting (and losing) endless DC wars. Also, they want it as a backstop to uppity citizens, but good luck. A woke army is a bad army, so they can’t really force anything upon us. They have to talk us into doing it to ourselves.
And what they plan to talk us into doing to ourselves, again, is nominating a brain dead mollusk as the pseudo-president, a gibbering golem who will be a conduit for every commie dream these monsters can think up. Look at Feinstein. Look at Fetterman. Look deep into their empty eyes. They are husks, imaginary people. They don’t exist as human beings but solely as avatars of Marxist fantasies. And like them, no real human being named “Joe Biden” exists, and it’s doubtful he really ever did. He’s a political marketing concept coming to pseudo-life. His bodily functions continue to proceed, presumably into his ever-present set of Depends, as he staggers through his golden years, but he’s not running the country. He’s probably not even changing the channel to Matlock on the old Magnavox. He’s a puppet, and the left’s left hand is all the way up to him.
So, when Joe Biden trips, it really means nothing to us. We’re not learning anything new. We already know what he is, and what he isn’t. But for normal people? It might work to change their minds from not having any opinions to thinking “Oh, maybe this guy is too old to be president and maybe we ought to look at somebody who isn’t old and senile and I wonder if NCIS: Rancho Cucamonga is on gosh I love that show.”
But the regime media is not gonna risk letting that happen. They turned Gerald Ford from into a national joke for the very same thing, and they’ll gleefully ignore this staggering clinical imbecile. Some normals might look up from their chicken tenders long enough to notice, but it’s unclear if they’ll actually care. The pain hasn’t gotten bad enough yet. But don’t worry. The Democrats’’ combination of corruption, gross incompetence, and burning hatred of normal Americans will make it get worse, and eventually the people will react. It’s just going to take a while. The normies are lulled into quiescence with Wonder Bread and circuses. Things are going to have to get darker before they get lighter. So, if you think the mere fact that this Oval Office occupant demonstrating his utter inability to perform as a president is going to make any difference in the short term, you’re the one who is tripping.

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated that he thinks President Joe Biden’s staff overprotects him and that the President should be out in public more. Brooks also said that from what he hears from inside the Biden White House, the President’s “not a doddering old grandpa either.” And Biden “can be a very tough, mean guy and a very harsh boss sometimes.”
Brooks said, “[L]onger-term…I do think Biden is still underexposed. I think his staff is still overprotective of him. And he’s much smarter in public than a lot of people think — in private. And so, I do think they need to let him get out more, because it’s just not good for the presidency for him to be that much in the shadow of Donald Trump.”
He added, “I will say, from what I hear inside the White House, he’s not a doddering old grandpa either. He’s like — can be a very tough, mean guy and a very harsh boss sometimes. So, he could say [he’s overprotected]. But he might be trusting or maybe he wants to be as quiet and frankly, as closed in, as he’s been.”
California will fall well short of the power generation required to fuel its electric vehicle mandate, a new report shows, reflecting the "seemingly insurmountable hurdles" the state faces in its bid to go green.
California Democratic governor Gavin Newsom in 2020 unveiled an executive order banning the sale of gas-powered cars in the state by 2035, a policy that brings higher electricity demand as residents ditch the pump for plug-in stations. But the state is nowhere near on track to meet that higher demand, according to a Pacific Research Institute report, which found that California will fall more than 21 percent short of the power generation levels required to support the electric vehicle mandate. As a result, the study says, California must rapidly expand its power plants or risk facing "acute electricity shortages" in the near future.
"It is clear by any objective measure that California is relying more on hope than a workable plan to transition to a green power grid," the report says. "California policymakers made an enormous mistake in their haste to push technologies that aren't ready … It is past time for the state to reassess its approach for addressing global climate change."
Despite California's green energy struggles, the Biden administration has praised the state for its "bold" green energy policies, with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm crediting the state for inspiring her to "move faster and further" toward a green energy transition. California's failure to support an electric vehicle mandate, however, could weaken support for similar policies at the national level.
Newsom's office did not return a request for comment.
California is one of many states that has moved to phase out coal and natural gas plants in favor of green energy. But that push comes with reliability issues. While fossil fuel plants can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch, green alternatives such as wind and solar rely on favorable weather conditions to operate at full capacity. State and federal officials are thus warning that a majority of Americans could face power blackouts this summer, particularly on warm evenings with little wind. California, meanwhile, has already seen its green power grid strained—last year, for example, the state urged electric car drivers to stop charging their vehicles due to inadequate power supply.
In addition to the reliability issues associated with a green power grid, the transition away from coal and gas is massively expensive. California alone must spend a whopping $9.3 billion on power upgrades to support its green transition, the nonprofit that oversees the state's electric grid said in May.
"Policymakers should consider that many sources of renewable energy, such as wind and solar, are volatile and erratic, and will require significant investments in necessary infrastructure and land that will be very expensive, costs that will ultimately be borne by ratepayers," the Pacific Research Institute report says. "Upgrading the power grid for an all-renewable-energy future will require a scale comparable to a World War II level of mobilization, which will not be achievable given current regulatory hurdles."
Those challenges have not stopped the Biden administration from pushing green power grids. President Joe Biden's Environmental Protection Agency in May unveiled a plan that requires coal and natural gas power plants to slash their carbon emission by 90 percent between 2035 and 2040. The unfeasible regulations are expected to force such plants to shut down rather than pay compliance costs.
California's electric vehicle mandate also flies in the face of consumer preference. Less than one-fifth of Americans say they're very likely to make their next vehicle an electric one, an April Associated Press poll found, with skeptical respondents citing the high cost associated with the cars. Electric vehicles on average cost $10,000 more than their gas-powered counterparts.
Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed amending the United State Constitution in order to restrict firearm ownership.
Newsom’s proposed amendment would raise the minimum firearm purchase age nationwide from 18 to 21, mandate universal background checks, institute a waiting period for gun purchases and prohibit civilians from purchasing so-called “assault weapons.”
In a video released on Thursday, Newsom touted his proposal and denounced alleged inaction to prevent mass shootings. “Every time, it’s the same,” Newsom said. “They tell us we can’t stop these massacres. They tell us we have to stand by and watch tragedy after tragedy unfold in our communities.” Newsom also scoffed at the idea “that thoughts and prayers are the best we can do.”
Despite the divisiveness of gun control, Newsom expressed full-throated confidence that his proposed 28th amendment to the Constitution could ratified in an Article V convention of the states. Newsom argued that his amendment would receive bipartisan support since, he claimed, “The 28th locks in the common-sense constitutional protections that Democrats, Republicans, independents and gun owners overwhelmingly support.”
Setting aside its questionable bipartisan appeal, accomplishing the ratification of his amendment may prove to be more daunting than Newsom seems to believe. Excluding the nonpartisan legislature of Nebraska, Republicans control 28 of the 49 remaining state legislatures, in addition to the divided partisan control of the Pennsylvania and Virginia state legislatures. To pass his amendment, Newsom would need 34 total states to call for a convention, a formidable prospect indeed.
While Newsom would also have the option of attempting to pass his proposal through the federal legislature, the prospect of securing a two-thirds majority in a divided House and Senate is similarly remote.
More than 17 Percent of U.S. Firearm Murders Occur in One State: Gun-Controlled California

More than 17 percent of the annual firearm murders in the United States occur in gun-controlled California, according to the most recent figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
PEW Research reported that CDC figures show 20,958 people were murdered with firearms in 2021.
The CDC’s state-by-state map shows that 3,576 of those murders occurred in California alone.
Ironically, California is the number one state in the U.S. for gun control, according to Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety.
California gun controls include universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, a 10-day waiting period, a red flag law, firearm registration requirements, a ban on campus carry for self-defense, a ban on K-12 teachers being armed for classroom defense, a limit on the number of guns a law-abiding citizen can purchase each month, and a background check requirement for ammunition purchases, among many other controls.
Yet California is also number one for “active shooter incidents,” according to FBI figures.
When California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) contrasts gun violence in his state with that of other states–especially red states–he does not mention California firearm homicides. Rather, he talks about homicide rates and claims a lower rate in California than in other states.
On Thursday, he took this approach with Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R):
By shifting the focus to rates, Newsom does not mention that Mississippi only had 962 firearm homicides compared to 3,576 such homicides in California.

California approves ‘shocking’ policy giving weekly checks to migrants: Report

A group of migrants attempted to force their way into the United States by rushing a CBP official port of entry. The action by the migrants forced federal authorities to close down the international port of entry.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Brownsville, Texas, at the Gateway International Bridge. According to information provided to Breitbart Texas by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, at about 4:15 p.m. groups of migrants began congregating in the vicinity of the bridge.
“CBP continuously evaluates its operational posture to determine if additional reductions in processing and operations are necessary, and will communicate additional changes to the public as they occur,” a statement from CBP revealed.
Brownsville City Commissioner Pedro Cardenas shared on social media a video that captured the moment when migrants appeared to rush through the Mexican toll booths at the port of entry. In his post, the local elected official said the city “needed several plans.”
A second video captured the moment when migrants appear to push through a CBP pedestrian barrier in the middle of the bridge and then run north.
In a prepared statement, officials reported that by 6:25 p.m. CBP reopened the port of entry and normal cross-border traffic resumed. The issue in Brownsville comes as the border city recently became one of the busiest border cities in the current immigration crisis.
As Breitbart Texas reported, a similar incident took place in April when a group of Venezuelan migrants tried to force their way into Brownsville forcing CBP officials to shut down the port of entry for several hours. At the time, the migrants were fleeing from the Gulf Cartel since the criminal organization had torched several of their tents and had threatened the migrants for going around the criminal organization in trying to cross into Texas to claim asylum.

California Is About To Stun The World | Economic Collapse - SHTF
Another plane carrying migrants arrived in Sacramento on Monday, and California officials believe they came from Florida.
The plane carrying about 20 migrants arrived on Monday in Sacramento after more than a dozen South American migrants were flown on a charter jet from New Mexico over the weekend.
“Documents carried by the migrants appear to show that the weekend flight was arranged through the Florida Division of Emergency Management and that it was part of the state’s program to relocate migrants, mostly from Texas, to other states, California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta said,” reported the Los Angeles Times.
“The contractor for the program is Vertol Systems Co., which coordinated similar flights that took dozens of Venezuelan asylum seekers from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts last year,” it added.
Bonta’s office said on Monday that agents with the California Department of Justice have made contact with the migrants and that they had documentation from the state of Florida. The office of Gov. Ron DeSantis has not commented on the manner, and it remains unclear if they were flown to California under his orders. Regardless, Bonta ultimately blamed the Republican governor for the situation.
“This is Gov. DeSantis, this is his baby, this is his project, his fingerprints are all over it,” Bonta said. “The governor signed it, the Legislature approved to fund it in the budget, and they hired Vertol Systems Co., a vendor, to carry out the work.”
“It’s DeSantis being exactly who he is and advertising to the world that he is petty, little … and full of political stunts that hurt, harm and abuse and exploit people to try and get cheap political points. It’s wrong,” he added.
The migrants from the first flight over the weekend were initially transported by bus from El Paso to New Mexico before being put on a plane for Sacramento. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Sacramento received the migrants on Friday. Earlier this year, when Gov. Ron DeSantis famously shipped more than 50 migrants to the left-leaning sanctuary city of Martha’s Vineyard, the governor said he wanted to make a point about the border crisis and that more states across America should pitch in. His critics, however, charged that he cruelly used migrants in a political stunt. Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom said that his office would be investigating if DeSantis may be guilty of kidnapping.
Bonta’s office confirmed that they would be investigating kidnapping charges and “evaluating potential criminal or civil action against those who transported or arranged for the transport of these vulnerable immigrants.” Bonta said that the migrants were promised jobs and that California would help them find work.
“They never intended to help them find a job but told them that they would do that so they could get on the plane and sign their documents and be transported to Sacramento,” Bonta said. “They completely exploited, abused and manipulated these folks who were vulnerable and were hoping and dreaming of a job and told they would be helped finding that job only to be abandoned.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) accused Florida Gov Ron DeSantis (R) of “kidnapping” 16 migrants who were flown from New Mexico to Sacramento, California, allegedly without advance preparation for their arrival.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “The 16 migrants from Venezuela and Colombia were initially transported by bus from El Paso to New Mexico, where they boarded the flight to Sacramento, officials said. They were dropped off at the doorstep of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento on Friday.”
California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a statement on Saturday accusing the state government of Florida of being behind the transfer of the migrants, who initially crossed the U.S. border in Texas.
Millions of migrants have crossed the border, many illegally, since President Joe Biden has taken office. Texas has a policy of relocating some migrants to other states and cities, often “sanctuary cities” run by Democrats.
Florida, too, has relocated migrants who were initially sent to the state. Last fall, DeSantis sent a planeload of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the offshore haven where the members of the Democratic Party elite have homes. The island, unable to accommodate the migrants despite the proliferation of political signs welcoming immigrants to the country, relocated the migrants to a shelter on a mainland military base within 24 hours.
Newsom, who spends a great deal of his time on social media trolling conservative governors, especially DeSantis, accused DeSantis of kidnapping on Monday, though there is no evidence DeSantis was involved:
Newsom, who left his state for a vacation in Mexico during deadly blizzards earlier this year winter, did not address the underlying migrant issue, or California’s generous welfare policies toward illegal migrants.
The Times notes that California authorities have yet to release documents proving that Florida was involved; the migrants never entered Florida.

WashPost Op-Ed: ‘Let’s Celebrate’ as Migrants Replace Americans
Americans should celebrate the inflow of migrants into new jobs throughout the economy, even as many American men remain on the economic sidelines, says a Washington Post columnist.
The “share of prime-working-age men in the workforce still hasn’t matched its February 2020 peak [and] is also far below historical highs,” said the June 2 “Celebrate” column by Catherine Rampell.
But more migrants and women are streaming into new jobs, Rampell wrote, adding, “Let’s celebrate the underdogs helping supercharge our economy.”
Rampell’s column celebrates President Joe Biden’s great migration which has smuggled roughly 4 million migrants over the southern border. The illegal inflow is in addition to the normal airport inflow of roughly 1 million legal immigrants, and the fast-growing inflow of legal and illegal white-collar visa workers.

Biden’s inflow is a sharp change from Steven Miller’s implementation of President Donald Trump’s curbs to migration. Under Trump and Miller, the share of American men in the workforce began to rise — and their wages grew — after decades of managed decline.
Rampell’s posted chart admits that Biden’s migration-spiked economy has failed to restore the share of men who were working during Trump’s term:
Some have retired early, some are wealthy, and some are lazy. But many of the 6 million are unprepared for low-wage work alongside competition from younger, healthier, and eager migrants.
Yet Rampell prefers to praise the massive migration inflow as normal and to celebrate the huge 9.3 percent expansion in the foreign workforce:
Today, trends in legal immigration have largely normalized, and the numbers of immigrant workers in the United States have more than recovered. You can see this in the labor market data: Employment [number, not share] levels for native-born Americans are just a touch higher than in February 2020, when the pandemic recession began (up on net by 0.3 percent); among foreign-born workers, employment has shot up by 9.3 percent.

Rampell also celebrated the pressured movement of more women into the low-wage labor market, regardless of the resulting decline in births, writing:
Some commentators (myself included) worried that these [coronavirus] disruptions might set working women back a generation or more by knocking them off the career trajectories they had been on.
… as a group, rather than being economically scarred by covid, female workers seemed to have emerged stronger than ever.
Rampell’s column inadvertently reveals how the wage-cutting, rent-spiking inflow of foreign workers minimizes the incentive for establishment figures — such as herself — to take the difficult political decisions that are needed to get sidelined people back to work, or to raise all-important productivity growth above the current rate of just 1.1. percent:
Productivity growth is vital because it allows ordinary Americans to do more work each day and so earn more money each day. Overall, productivity raises ordinary people’s wages — and without triggering the inflation that is now being boosted by migration.
Productivity also helps U.S. companies to expand the U.S. economy via trade. Such trade reduces elites’ pressure for migration and also allows foreign countries to modernize their societies without their young being getting extracted to the U.S. economy.
But the U.S. establishment prefers the easy option of allowing illegal migration over the difficult task of promoting productivity.

Rampell celebrates Biden’s preference for poverty migration, blue-collar migration, and white-collar migration — even though Biden could pressure companies to grow productivity and pull sidelined American men back to marketplace work with offers of more wages, training, and respect.
Biden’s policy also shows the eagerness of his deputies to reinflate President George H.W. Bush’s post-1990 cheap-labor bubble. The labor bubble allowed investors to boost stock market gains via a bigger consumer economy after the export of many high-wage manufacturing jobs to China and Mexico.
“The migration issue “is not just a question of prioritizing US citizens over foreigners,” tweeted commentator Mickey Kaus, adding:
It’s a question of what sort of society we want to have — one where all (even unskilled & ex-cons) can earn enough to live as social equals, or a society that throws large swaths of workers onto the scrapheap.
Rampell has long supported more migration into Americans’ labor market, echoing the establishment’s demand for more cheap workers, apartment-sharing renters, and welfare-aided consumers.
Rampell is tied to the establishment. For example, her brother is an investor in the financial services sector. Most of his start-up companies have asked the federal government for H-1Bvisaworkers to avoidhiring American graduates at higher salaries or paying them with stock options.

Many other establishment figures favor the use of migrants to expand the economy, regardless of the pocketbook and civic impact on ordinary Americans. Ron Brownstein, a senior editor at the Atlantic, wrote on May 30:
Even as businesses across the nation are complaining about their inability to find enough workers, the federal government is struggling to stem the relentless flow of migrants at the Southern border trying to find work in the US. No one suggests the answer to worker shortages is to open the border, but it remains a paradox that the nation is straining to keep out migrants looking to work even as employers say the shortage of workers is preventing them from filling millions of jobs. That worker shortfall has also emerged as a key factor driving persistent inflation and higher interest rates.
“There’s a mismatch between government policy and the economic reality on the ground,” said David Bier, associate director of immigration studies at the libertarian Cato Institute. “We have a policy designed to keep people out and meanwhile we have a crisis in the labor markets where we have nearly 10 million open jobs and have for two years now.”
Brownstein, however, admitted that the call to import more foreign workers is “politically radioactive.

The migrant inflow has successfullyforced down Americans’ wages and alsoboosted rentsandhousing prices. The inflow has also pushed many native-born Americans out of careers in a wide variety of business sectors and contributed to therising death rateof poor Americans.
The lethal policy also sucks jobs and wealth from heartland states by subsidizing coastal investors with a flood of low-wage workers, high-occupancy renters, and government-aided consumers.
The population inflow alsoreduces the politicalcloutof native-born Americans, because the population replacement allows elites to divorce themselves fromthe needsandinterestsof ordinary Americans.
Migration — and especially, labor migration — is unpopular among swing voters. A 54 percent majority of Americans say Biden is allowing a southern border invasion, according toan August 2022 pollcommissioned by the left-of-center National Public Radio (NPR). The 54 percent “Invasion” majority included 76 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents, and even 40 percent of Democrats.

California Makes History: First State in U.S. Giving Food Stamps to Illegal Aliens
The sanctuary state of California will make history by becoming the first state in the nation to give food stamps to illegal aliens.
This week, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced a budget deal with Democrat state legislators that includes providing food stamps, paid for by California’s taxpayers, to illegal aliens 55 and older — the first initiative of its kind in the United States.
An executive with the group Nourish California told the Fresno Bee that the policy is historic for the state, saying, “California is once again making history by removing xenophobic exclusions to our state’s safety net.”
Expansion of the state’s CalFresh food stamps program will cost California’s taxpayers more than $35 million and about 75,000 illegal aliens are expected to enroll every year.
The move comes as Newsom’s budget deal will also ensure that California is the first state in the nation to provide taxpayer-funded health insurance to all of its 3.3 million illegal aliens.
Offering taxpayer-funded health insurance to its entire illegal alien population, the largest in the nation, is expected to cost California’s taxpayers about $2.4 billion annually. The plan is scheduled to begin in 2024.

WSJ: California Spends Billions on Homelessness, with Little to Show
The State of California and various municipalities are spending billions of dollars to address the growing problem of homelessness, but with little to show for the effort, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In a front-page exposé, the Journalreported Saturday that efforts to clear homeless encampments and provide shelter for their residents are hampered by bureaucracy and the refusal of many residents to move indoors:
The number of homeless people in California grew about 50% between 2014 and 2022. The state, which accounts for 12% of the U.S. population, has about half of the nation’s unsheltered homeless, an estimated 115,000 people, according to federal and state data last year. It also has among the highest average rent and median home prices in the U.S.

California spent a record $17 billion combating homelessness in the past four fiscal years. For the state budget year starting in July, Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed another $3.7 billion.
Voters in Los Angeles and San Francisco, which have some of the largest homeless populations in California, were unhappy enough about it to approve taxes costing them billions of dollars to fund anti-homelessness programs and housing in recent years. So far, cost overruns and delays have left little to show for the money.
The high cost of housing is one factor, which leaves some working people unable to afford rent in the San Francisco Bay area or in greater Los Angeles. Drugs and mental illness are also factors. And for others, life on the street simply involves more freedom: they are reluctant to give up pets, for example, when moving indoors.

Politicians have begun to address the problem, with newly-inaugurated L.A. Mayor Karen Bass setting a first-year goal of reducing the homeless population by some 40%, with the 2028 Summer Olympics looming.
But others have said drastic intervention by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is needed.

As Fentanyl Deaths Spike, LA Hands Out Crack Pipes
Amid a spike in fentanyl deaths, Los Angeles County is turning to creative solutions, including handing out crack pipes.
County teams are passing out glass pipes for smoking opioids, meth, and crack to drug addicts on the street, the Los Angeles Timesreported. They also dispense needles, wipes, and medicine for treating overdoses. The supplies are called "harm reduction," and officials argue that it's safer to smoke the drugs than inject them with potentially contaminated needles and fentanyl. Los Angeles County increased its spending on harm reduction from $5.4 million to $31.5 million this year.
A WashingtonFree Beacon investigation last year found several Democratic cities hand out crack pipes despite the Biden administration claiming its multimillion-dollar harm reduction program doesn't spend taxpayer dollars on drug paraphernalia. Every organization the Free Beacon visited, including in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, included crack pipes in their kits.
A February 2022 Free Beacon report found that a $30 million harm-reduction program would fund the distribution of "safe-smoking kits," which generally include crack pipes.
One community activist, Manuel Campito, said handing out pipes to drug users is comparable to assisted suicide.
"I wouldn’t get pipes to give them out myself," Campito said. "You know Dr. Kevorkian assisted suicide? That’s pretty much what it is."
Residents in Los Angeles's downtown district that is hardest hit by the drug epidemic don't all agree that handing out drug supplies is the solution, the Los Angeles Times reported:
But the pipes tap a nerve, particularly in Skid Row, home to as many as 1,500 homeless people with substance abuse disorder and a wide array of drug recovery and prevention groups that serve homeless people throughout the city.
The 50-block downtown district saw the worst of the 1980s crack epidemic, and its converted flophouses and apartments are home to many residents who graduated from 12-step or other abstinence-based programs.
A group of cartel gunmen left three severed human heads and a narco-banner next to a military base in Cancun. The gruesome crime scene comes as rival cartels fight for control of the lucrative local drug distribution, trafficking, and money laundering businesses in the region.
The case took place this week outside of a Mexican Army base in Cancun, the local news outlet NotiCaribe reported. Military forces first went outside the base after getting a call of a banner hanging outside the fence. When the soldiers went to remove the banner, they found three severed heads next to it and called state authorities to document the crime scene.
Authorities took the banner, which showed a series of threats from one criminal organization to the other. While the cartel responsible is not named, the violence in Cancun and other parts of the state of Quintana Roo is tied to a fierce turf war where factions of the Sinaloa Cartel clash with factions of Cartel Jalisco New Generation for control of various illegal enterprises including the local distribution of drugs, drug trafficking routes, local sex trade, and others.
As Breitbart Texas has reported, some of the violence has taken place in tourist areas with shootouts and murders happening inside or right by luxurious hotels.

Beto Extradited to United States on Federal Cocaine Charges
A Mexican national known as Beto was extradited to the United States Tuesday to face charges that he operates a massive cocaine and money laundering operation.
Gilberto Alarcon-Holguin, known as Beto, arrived in the United States and was indicted on charges "of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to launder the illicit proceeds charges," according to the Justice Department.
Law enforcement seized around $2.6 million from Beto during an investigation that allegedly proved his role in the cocaine smuggling operations. Mexico is said to have supported and aided the investigation, along with the Department of Homeland Security and FBI.
US Slaps Sanctions on Chinese and Mexican Targets Over Fentanyl Production

WASHINGTON (Reuters)—The U.S. on Tuesday imposed sanctions on 17 people and entities based in China and Mexico who it accused of enabling counterfeit, fentanyl-laced pill production, as the Biden administration seeks to stem imports of the deadly drug.
The U.S. Treasury Department in a statement said it slapped sanctions on seven entities and six people based in China, as well as one business and three people based in Mexico.
It accused those targeted of being involved in the sale of pill press machines and other equipment used to impress counterfeit trade markings onto illicitly produced pills, often laced with fentanyl and destined for the United States.
"Treasury’s sanctions target every stage of the deadly supply chain fueling the surge in fentanyl poisonings and deaths across the country," the Treasury's Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian Nelson, said in the statement.
"Counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl constitute a leading cause of these deaths, devastating thousands of American families each year. We remain committed to using all authorities against enablers of illicit drug production to disrupt this deadly global production and counter the threat posed by these drugs."
The rate of drug overdose deaths involving the synthetic opioid fentanyl more than tripled in the United States from 2016 through 2021, according to a report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released earlier this month.
Fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine, and has increasingly been mixed with other illicit drugs often with lethal results.
The Biden administration has been pushing for action as U.S. drug-related overdose deaths surpassed 100,000 in 2021, according to government estimates.
Washington has been seeking greater help from Beijing in stemming the illicit flow of fentanyl "precursor" chemicals from China, but U.S. officials have told Reuters that Chinese counterparts have been reluctant to cooperate as relations between the two countries have soured.
Exclusive: DeSantis Rebukes Mexican President’s Support for Illegal Migration
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is rebuking Mexican President López Obrador for interfering in Florida politics.
“President López Obrador should be cracking down on the cartels running his country and fueling our deadly opioid epidemic instead of worrying about what we are doing in Florida,” DeSantis said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News.
The rebuke came after President Obrador slammed DeSantis for his sweeping reforms of migration-related laws in Florida.
“I found out that the Florida governor — imagine, Florida, which is full of migrants! — is taking repressive, inhumane measures against [illegal] migrants in Florida because he wants to be a [presidential] candidate,” Obrador told a Mexican audience on Monday.

In a statement to Breitbart News, DeSantis shut down Obrador’s demand for more migration:
While President Biden may take his cues from leftist foreign leaders, Floridians won’t let their immigration laws be dictated by Mexico City. I’ll never back down from using the full weight of my office to protect the people of Florida by enforcing our immigration laws, and look forward to signing the strongest legislation against illegal immigration in Florida history.
DeSantis’ rebuke was delivered as he prepares to sign a law that makes it difficult for employers to favor and hire wage-cutting illegal migrants over ordinary American job-seekers.
The pending legislation, known as SB 1718, will likely be signed by DeSantis on Wednesday after being labeled as the “Toughest Immigration Crackdown in the Nation” by the New York Times.
According to DeSantis’ office, the legislation:
Requires private employers with 25 or more employees to use the E-Verify system to verify the employment eligibility of newly hired employees, fines employers who fail to use E-Verify $1,000 per day, and suspends the licenses of such private employers until they come back into compliance.
Suspends licenses of any employer who knowingly employs illegal aliens, and makes using a fake ID to gain employment a felony.
Enhances penalties for human smuggling, including making knowingly transporting five or more illegal aliens or a single illegal alien minor a second-degree felony subject to a $10,000 fine and up to 15 years in prison.
Bans local governments and NGOs from issuing identification documents to illegal aliens and invalidates all out-of-state driver licenses issued exclusively to illegal aliens.
Requires hospitals to collect and report healthcare costs for illegal aliens.
Many Florida employers already employ illegal migrants, in part, because the workers are cheaper, more compliant, and grateful for the work. One far-left activist in Orlando, Fla., taunted DeSantis with a May 7 image apparently showing many illegal migrant workers at a construction site that would otherwise be run by better-paid Americans:
Moreover, the establishment media ensures that Americans wildly underestimate the scale of migration even as they greatly overestimate other Americans’ support for continued immigration. For example, the “American Aspirations Index” survey asked 2,010 Americans in 2021 to rank 55 national priorities. The respondents said they believe that “[being] open to immigration” is the 18-ranked priority for all Americans. But when asked to declare their own views, they ranked the “open to immigration” priority near the bottom, at just 42nd of the 55 priorities.

For example, in Florida, some donor-backed GOP legislators worked with pro-migrant Democrats to narrow the ambitious scope of DeSantis’ reforms as they moved through the Florida legislature. For example, the legislature rejected DeSantis’s proposal to penalize employers who house illegal migrants, and it exempted small employers from the E-Verify requirement.
But DeSantis got most of his reforms through the legislature — so the pro-migration groups of investors and ethnic lobbies are still loudly opposing his accomplishment.
“We’re just begging him not to sign this law because it will create economic havoc, and there’s better ways and better public policy that we can promote to attend the issue that we have,” immigration lawyer Aileen Walborsky toldThePalm Beach Post.
“We don’t want people going into hiding, avoiding necessary health care services because of the requirements included in this bill,” said Palm Beach County Commissioner Michael Barnett. He is the former chair of the Palm Beach County GOP.
DeSantis has backed a lawsuit that has shut down some of Biden’s migration plans, sent some of Biden’s migrants to Cape Cod in Massachusetts, and has acted large to sharply raise criminal penalties for drug dealers.

112 Pounds of Fentanyl Seized near Border in California
San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents seized approximately 112 pounds of fentanyl. The seizure followed a traffic stop on Interstate 8 near the Pine Valley checkpoint on May 18.
San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Aaron M. Heitke tweeted photos of bundles of blue fentanyl pills seized by Campo Station agents near the Interstate 8 checkpoint. The fentanyl weighed approximately 112 pounds.
Campo Station agents conducted an immigration inspection traffic stop on Interstate 8 near Pine Valley, California, on May 18, according to a statement from Border Patrol officials. During the stop, a Border Patrol K-9 team conducted a walk-around search of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs in the SUV.
The agents transported the driver, a U.S. citizen, and the vehicle to the nearby immigration checkpoint for a physical search of the vehicle. During the search, the agents found nine plastic-wrapped packages containing blue pills.
The pills tested positive for fentanyl, officials stated. Agents determined the weight of the pills to be 112 pounds with an estimated street value of more than $1.5 million.
The agents turned the driver over to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The Drug Enforcement Administration took possession of the fentanyl pills.
“Transnational criminal organizations do everything they can to distribute these harmful narcotics and earn their profits with no regard for the destructive effects they have on our communities,” San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Aaron M. Heitke said in a written statement. “Our Border Patrol agents remain vigilant, day and night, to intercept these poisons and the smugglers who transport them.”
