Poll: 60% Say Joe Biden Covering Up His Involvement in Family Deals

Sixty percent of voters believe President Joe Biden is working to cover up his involvement in his family’s business deals with foreign adversaries, a Rasmussen Reports poll found Monday.

The poll asked respondents, “How likely is it that Joe Biden has been part of an illegal cover-up to hide his involvement in his son Hunter’s foreign business deals?”

Overall, 60 percent said they believe Joe Biden “has been part of an illegal cover-up to hide his involvement in his son Hunter’s foreign business deals.” Forty-five percent said a cover-up is very likely. Thirty-four percent said it is not likely, including 18 percent who believe it is not at all likely.

The poll also asked independent voters, “One of Hunter Biden’s former business partners says that, when he was vice president, Joe Biden took part in telephone conversations with their foreign clients. How serious of a scandal is this?”

Overall, 60 percent said it is “concerning” that Hunter Biden reportedly put then-Vice President Joe Biden on calls with family business associates upwards of two dozen times.

Among the 60 percent, 49 percent say it is very concerning, and 16 percent say somewhat concerning. Fourteen percent say it is not very concerning. Only 13 percent believe it is not concerning at all.

The poll sampled 1,027 likely voters from July 26-27 and 30, 2023, with a ± three percent margin of error.

When Breitbart News asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for her reaction to the poll, she was surprised the numbers were not worse for Joe Biden.

“I actually, actually think it’s higher,” she said. “I think the American people are always way ahead of Washington.”

“The American people know the truth,” she added. “It’s easy to see, as plain as day, and it’s just time for time for Congress to catch up.”

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner who testified before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, reportedly planned to tell the committee that he witnessed Hunter Biden using his father’s influence during business meetings by calling the former vice president.

Archer was Hunter Biden’s right-hand man for decades. They attended Yale together in the late 1990s. Archer became the vice chairman of finance for John Kerry’s failed 2004 presidential campaign, where he connected with his college classmate Chris Heinz, Kerry’s stepson and another Biden family business partner.

Archer was also an important member of the Biden family business. He was photographed playing golf with then-Vice President Joe Biden in Southhampton, New York, in 2014.

The House Oversight Committee announced late Monday it has subpoenaed Devon Archer, a Biden family associate, to appear for a deposition to Congress this Friday.

That same year, Archer served with Hunter Biden on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukraine-based energy company. Archer resigned from Burisma’s board after his arrest in 2016. Authorities convicted Archer of defrauding a Native American tribal entity in 2022, and he was ordered to pay a $43,954,416.75 judgment to the victims.

Some of Archer’s largest deals involved Bohai Harvest, an entity controlled by Chinese state-owned interests. Breitbart News reported:

A little backstory: In December 2013, Hunter Biden helped start a Chinese private equity fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR). The American partners held their interests in the company through a shell company called Rosemont Seneca Thornton. Senate investigators later revealed that Yelena Baturina, the billionaire ex-wife of Moscow’s longtime mayor, transferred $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton on February 14, 2014, raising concerns about Hunter Biden’s possible relationship with the Russian oligarch.

James Comer Opens Probe into Hunter Biden’s Art Buyer and Biden Appointee

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) opened a probe into a buyer of Hunter Biden’s artwork to ascertain if Hunter used his novice art career to “peddle influence in and access to the White House.”

Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a prominent Biden donor and Biden appointee to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, reportedly bought Hunter Biden’s art in July 2022. It is unknown if Hirsh’s purchase occurred before or after her appointment to that position.

“The Committee is concerned Hunter Biden has used his new career as an artist to peddle influence in and access to the White House,” Comer said.

“The White House has stated that ‘Hunter Biden would be walled off from knowing the identities of his buyers in an attempt to separate his business dealings from his father’s administration,'” Comer wrote in a statement, continuing:

Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, told reporters that the gallery “does not disclose the names of any purchasers to Mr. Biden.” This system, however, seems to have failed, because Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali’s identity as a purchaser of this art has become public.

“Her position on the Commission is particularly suspicious because of Hunter Biden’s previous actions to elevate his business partner—Eric Schwerin—to the same post while his father was Vice President,” he added.

Naftali also reportedly visited the White House 13 times after the president’s son first showcased his paintings at his art dealer’s gallery in New York City.

Naftali is not the only purchaser of Hunter Biden’s art. A mystery buyer reportedly spent $875,000 on 11 Hunter Biden paintings from his art dealer, Georges Bergès, who previously boasted strong ties to businessmen in Communist China.

Hunter Biden also reportedly sold art to his top lawyer, Kevin Morris, who also paid Hunter’s IRS bill of about $2 million. The entertainment lawyer is at the center of Hunter Biden’s new-found career of painting modern art, an occupation connected to the art market known for corruption.

A Senate subcommittee report detailed in 2020 how the art market serves as a vehicle for money laundering, but the report did not appear to worry the White House, which defended Hunter’s new art career as “reasonable.”

The president’s son “is not involved in the sale or discussions about the sale of his art,” and he will not be “informed” of “who is purchasing his art,” former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed.

Exclusive Video — Trump on Impeaching Biden: ‘This Guy Has Stolen Millions of Dollars’; Will Let Congress Decide but Hope They Do ‘the Proper Thing’

BEDMINSTER, New Jersey — Former President Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate for president in 2024, told Breitbart News exclusively that while he is not explicitly publicly calling for his successor, Democrat President Joe Biden’s, impeachment, he hopes Congress does the “proper thing.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy floated last week that Congress may be on the verge of pursuing an impeachment inquiry against Biden. To do so, Congress would need a majority vote—218 members of the House—to authorize the significant escalation. Opening an impeachment inquiry is not a vote to impeach the president, though such a move could come later, but it is an extraordinary step in that direction that also infuses new powers into the Congress as it pursues information to make a case against the president.

Trump, who was impeached twice—once over a phone call he had with Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelensky and the second time over January 6—argued in a nearly hour-long on-camera interview that Biden has “stolen millions of dollars.”

“They impeached me over a perfect phone call,” Trump said. “This guy has stolen millions of dollars and done worse than that—look at what he’s done to the country with the inflation, with the energy, with taking away people’s rights, with the weaponized DOJ. No, they impeached me over a perfect phone call. Here’s a guy who has stolen millions of dollars and done other things that are so bad. Our country is in a position where it’s just so sad to see what’s happening.”

Asked whether he wants to see an impeachment inquiry against Biden proceed, Trump demurred, saying he did not wish to comment on it—but that he does hope Congress does the “proper thing,” thereby strongly suggesting he would back such a push. Even so, Trump made it clear he wants to let Republicans in Congress make their own decision on this front.

“I don’t want to comment on it, but I think people understand—nobody’s ever seen anything like that,” Trump said. “We’ll see what they do. Let them make their decision. They should do the proper thing. Let them make their decision.”

More from Trump’s latest exclusive interview with Breitbart News is forthcoming.

Devon Archer Testifies Burisma Holdings Would Have Gone Under Without Joe Biden

Hunter Biden’s best friend in business, Devon Archer, told House investigators that Burisma Holdings would have gone out of business if it were not for the so-called Biden brand, which Joe Biden promoted on phone calls with Burisma executives.

In 2014 Archer and Hunter Biden both joined the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company with legal challenges, as it was under investigation for wrongdoing. Burisma paid Hunter Biden $83,000 a month to sit on its board.

Archer testified that in December 2015, co-founder of Burisma Mykola Zlochevsky and Vadym Pozharski, an executive of Burisma, put pressure on Hunter Biden to get help from Washington, DC, regarding the Ukrainian prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma for corruption.

KIEV, UKRAINE - 2012/03/19: Ukrainian businessman and founder of the Burisma Holdings company, Mykola Zlochevsky during a media conference. On the evening of September 24, 2019, Democratic Speaker of the House from California, Nancy Pelosi announced that six committees of the House of Representatives would undertake a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump. The impeachment inquiry has been initiated following a whistleblower complaint over allegedly dealings of US President Donald J. Trump with Ukraine. The whistleblower report claimed that President Trump had "pressured" Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky during a July 2019 phone call to launch investigations into the actions of former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and involvement of his son Hunter Biden in the Burisma Holdings Company. In 2018, Joe Biden bragged about the firing of prosecutor Viktor Shokin during an official visit to Ukraine in 2015. During the visit, he met with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kiev about Ukraine’s corruption.

Four months after the meeting, Poroshenko fired Shokin.

An FBI informant alleges Joe and Hunter Biden accepted a $5 million bribe from Zlochevsky.

Archer said that Hunter Biden, along with Zlochevsky and Pozharski, “called D.C.” to speak about the legal situation. “Biden, Zlochevsky, and Pozharski stepped away to take make the call.”

Over 20 times, Hunter Biden placed Joe Biden on speakerphone during business meetings with Archer present, he told House investigators. Archer also testified that Joe Biden was put on the phone to sell “the brand.”

The 20 phone calls also included a dinner in China with Jonathan Li of Bohai Harvest RST (BHR). Hunter Biden and Archer held their interests in the company through a shell company called Rosemont Seneca Thornton.

Republican investigators revealed Yelena Baturina, the billionaire ex-wife of Moscow’s longtime mayor, transferred $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton on February 14, 2014.

Archer confirmed then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2014 attended a business dinner with Hunter Biden and business associates at Café Milano in Washington, DC. Baturina also attended the dinner.

The Biden Administration’s sanctions list excludes Russian oligarch Baturina, as Breitbart News reported.

“Devon Archer’s testimony today confirms Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said in a statement.

“Why did Joe Biden lie to the American people about his family’s business dealings and his involvement? It begs the question what else he is hiding from the American people,” he added.
