JOE BIDEN - SOCIOPATH IN THE WHITE HOUSE - Two Presidents, Two Disasters, Two Narratives

Two Presidents, Two Disasters, Two Narratives

Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans with Mother Nature’s fury in late August 2005, causing over 1800 fatalities and over $100 billion in property damage. Because a Republican president resided in the White House, the corporate media and Democrats took the opportunity to pounce on the disaster response.

From “Heck of a job Brownie” to President George W Bush’s famous flyover in Air Force One high above New Orleans, the cost of human suffering was far less important to the media than the opportunity to stick it to President Bush.

MSNBC screen grab

Not only did they not like him, many in the media and Washington DC establishment believed Bush and his election were illegitimate and interestingly no one has been criminally indicted for questioning the integrity of the 2000 presidential election.

Bush himself described the optics of his famous flyover in an interview with The Hill,

Former President George W. Bush said it was a “huge mistake” for him to have been photographed during a flyover trip over New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Bush acknowledged the famous photograph showing him looking out the window of Air Force One at the damage in New Orleans made him seem detached from the disaster on the ground that was caused by the massive Hurricane.

Bush said the photo, which became a symbol of his administration’s response to Katrina, made him look “detached and uncaring, no question about it.”

Vanity Fair described it as, “The flood that sank George W Bush.” US News called the flyover, The undoing of George W Bush.” A Face the Nation  crank said of the flyover, “Still an embarrassment for Bush 43.”

Far fewer stories recorded Bush’s genuine empathy for the disaster he witnessed on his watch. I am no fan of Bush 43’s policies but believed him to be a caring and decent man, in sharp contrast to the current president. As NPR reported,

In a speech at the school, the former president said he will never forget the images of "misery and ruin" from Katrina. He said New Orleans was a city where "the levies gave out but ... [the] people never gave up."

Flash forward from 2005 to 2023, with another disaster in a different state, this one being a raging wildfire in Maui, Hawaii. Leaving aside all the oddities of the fire and circumstances, and the inept government response, focus on today’s president, how he reacted to the disaster and how the media reported on everything.

YouTube screen grab

Lahaina was engulfed in flames on August 8, after a series of smaller wildfires on Maui, driven by high winds from passing Hurricane Dora.

Not only did President Biden not do a flyover, he went on vacation and had nothing to say about the Maui inferno. As Newsweek reported,

President Joe Biden is facing a backlash for his reportedly dismissive responses on Sunday to questions about the recent wildfires in Maui, Hawaii, that have taken the lives of 96 people with more still unaccounted for.

Biden was cycling on vacation at the seaside in Delaware.

After spending a few hours sunbathing on the beach near his home, when asked about the death toll on the island, Biden replied with a "no comment," before leaving.

Compassionate Joe, a week after the Maui fire asked, “Congress for $40 billion to support Ukraine, replenish US disaster aid and bolster border.” That’s on top of the $100+ billion already spent on Ukraine waging a fruitless and losing proxy war against Russia. What did Maui residents get, other than a “no comment”?

According to the Daily Mail, “The White House announced that each affected household in Hawaii will receive a $700 check to address 'immediate needs' including water, food and clothing.” Refugees arriving illegally in America receive three times as much, $2,125, in “resettlement grants” as confirmed by one of the omnipresent “factcheckers”.

How generous to refuges but not American citizens. Perhaps if Lahaina residents flew the Ukrainian flag they would have been better compensated for their death and destruction. Or they should claim “refugee” status for a bigger check.

Did Biden fly to Maui a few days after the fire to offer support, in other words act like a president? No. After his Delaware beach in Delaware, he took another vacation, this time to Lake Tahoe at the $18 million home of Democrat billionaire and former presidential candidate Tom Steyer.

Speaking of vacations, Joe is now in the record books, “President Joe Biden just took his 367th day of vacation in just 2.5 years, which sets a record compared to any other president in recent history.”

Congrats to Vacation Joe. He has taken more than a year of vacation in two and a half years. Maybe we should be grateful although this begs the question of who is running the country?

Who’s paying for this lavish Biden family vacation? Few in the media are asking. When Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the guest of some rich friend, the media and the left are calling for his impeachment and imprisonment. Not so for the Bidens.

The New York Post did investigate and found, “The First Family is renting the home for fair market value.” What’s fair market value? The Big Guy rate? Is Hunter paying the tab as he does for most of his father’s and family’s expenses? The media is incurious.

Joe finally broke away from his serial vacations and visited Maui on August 20, 12 days after the big blaze. Of course, roads were shut down for his visit, unlike Bush’s flyover of New Orleans. Bush was supposedly insensitive for not landing, with his security measures disrupting rescue and clean up efforts. Biden had no such concerns.

For Biden, corporate media ignored the disruptions, instead lavishing praise on Saint Joe as Reuters did, U.S. “President Joe Biden on Monday praised the ‘remarkable resiliency’ of the people of Maui.”

Giving remarks in Lahaina, Biden channeled his inner-Obama and made his short speech all about himself, and a long ago kitchen fire at one of his beach homes:

"I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, of what it was like to lose a home," Biden said in Hawaii on Monday. "Years ago, now 15 years, I was in Washington doing ‘Meet the Press.' … Lightning struck at home on a little lake outside the home. Not a lake, a big pond. It hit the wire and came up underneath our home, into the … air condition ducts.

"To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my '67 Corvette and my cat."

Imagine if Bush compared Hurricane Katrina to a flooded basement in his home. Or an overflowing toilet. Obviously, Biden’s Corvette was unharmed as it babysat boxes of classified documents stored unprotected in his garage. According to the DOJ and National Archives, a Corvette provides better document security than the Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago.

Biden also tried to be a comedian, joking about the “hot ground” in Lahaina. "You guys catch the boots out here?" Biden appeared to ask the press watching him. He smiled and said, "That’s some hot ground, man." Heck of a job Joey.

During a ceremony honoring the hundreds killed in the fire, Biden appears to have fallen asleep. Judge for yourself on this video.

Of course, the praetorian guard fact checkers like left-wing Snopes claimed “false”, that Sleepy Joe did not fall asleep. They assert Joe’s eyes were open. They looked closed to me but judge for yourself. Just imagine if that was Trump at a similar event. The media would have nonstop coverage of “Sleepy Don”. But for Joe they run interference.

What do Hawaiians think? As his motorcade passed by, Hawaiian residents raised a particular finger to Joe’s limo, shouting a two letter phrase at him that was not “happy birthday”. They get it.

The bottom line is that President Biden blew it. He couldn’t be bothered to help those he represents and who likely voted for him. Hawaii voted for Biden over Trump by a 30-point margin in 2020. I wonder if they have buyer’s remorse?

The media makes excuses and covers for him. Why? Because Biden is a Democrat. Bush, a Republican, received far different treatment over his disaster response. As would Trump or any more genteel and couth future Republican presidents, for those who grouse about Trump’s “demeanor”.

Two disasters. Two presidents. And two very different media reactions.

Biden Admin Honors ‘Chestfeeding Month,’ No Half-Staff Flag Order for Maui Fire Victims

U.S. Customs and Border Protection employees received an agency email on Tuesday honoring “National Breast/Chestfeeding Month.” However, employees say they have yet to receive any significant message regarding the department’s relief/recovery efforts in the deadly Maui wildfire.

According to a source within CBP, the Biden Administration has thus far focused more on tailoring traditional messaging to accommodate the woke left while failing to order the U.S. flag lowered to half-staff in honor of those who perished or remain missing in Maui.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection

The source says the message received by employees may seem benign to some as the agency has supported lactation services for mothers returning to work after delivery for years. However, DHS has added “chestfeeding” to the annual messaging campaign to appease the left. The term accommodates mostly transgender males who prefer the word chest over the traditional vernacular. The source says that the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, focuses on woke efforts to rename awareness campaigns, but he is keeping employees in the dark on the agency’s efforts regarding the relief and mobilization to the Lahaina wildfire.

“We can get the messaging on ‘Breast/Chestfeeding Awareness Month,’ we can get policy editing that refers to pregnant employees and migrants as ‘pregnant persons,’ what we don’t get is a flag action notification to honor the more than 100 people, and perhaps hundreds more that perished in this tragedy,” the source told Breitbart Texas. The source offered no explanation regarding why the awareness month’s name was changed to add “chestfeeding” by the agency.

“Certainly, it was not changed by the United States Breastfeeding Committee,” the source stated. “It’s all just symbolism and a distraction from the mission.”

The source told Breitbart Texas the agency has historically provided robust messaging to leaders and the rank and file during significant weather events, mass shootings, and rescue/relief operations involving DHS/CBP. The Maui wildfire response has not received the same attention, according to the source.

To remain informed, employees resorted to outside media organizations for details about Lahaina’s relief/recovery operations. In past incidents where the loss of life involved fewer American citizens than those lost on Maui, the administration has been quick to initiate a nationwide federal flag action honoring the victims.

In May, President Biden issued an order to lower flags to half-staff in honor of the eight people killed and seven injured in a mass shooting event in Allen, Texas. Two other presidential orders this year — in January and March — honored victims in Nashville, Tennessee and Monterey Park, California. President Biden has signed no such order for the Maui tragedy, the White House website reveals.

As reported by Breitbart, the FBI has put the death toll in Lahaina at 115 and has said 1,100 remain missing. As it stands now, the Maui wildfire, which started on August 8, is the fifth deadliest wildfire in U.S. history.

“It never fails. When this administration has the opportunity to motivate the workforce with mission-related information, all the employees get is political messaging designed to demonstrate how woke they can go,” the source lamented. “The lowest morale in history shows the workforce is growing tired of it; the lack of action on lowering the flag for Lahaina lets the people know where the administration’s priorities are. It’s sad.”

Nolte: Sleeping Joe Biden’s Nine Cruel Maui Bungles

MANDEL NGAN/AFP via Getty Images

We have over 100 Americans dead in Maui, over 800 still missing, and Joe Biden continues to cruelly bungle the response at every level.

This tragedy is far from over, so we will undoubtedly be adding to this list, but here are His Fraudulency Joe Biden’s nine cruel bungles … so far:

  1. Lying on the Beach While Maui Burns to the Ground

The wildfires began on August 8. By the following day, the fires were rampaging, thousands were without power, and thousands had been evacuated. During those two days, Biden lay on the beach and said nothing. It wasn’t until August 10 that Biden finally roused himself from a beach chair to act presidential. Before that, all he did was fire off a tweet a few hours earlier.

  1. “No Comment” While on Vacation

Days later, while Hawaii burned and the toll of the dead and missing climbed, Biden not only remained on the beach but when asked specifically about the rising death toll, Biden said, “No comment.”

He even smiled like he thought he was being cute. Other than “sociopathic,” I’m at a loss for words.

  1. No Comments for a Full Week

A week—a week!—would pass before Biden could be bothered to speak at length about Maui. An entire American city is devastated, and the sitting president has nothing to say, no assurances to offer.

  1. Refused to Visit Maui for Two Weeks

Unless you’re a Republican, the media are fine with a president staying out of a disaster area for weeks and weeks. After all, a presidential visit does overtax a local system already under duress. But rather than assure Americans and, more specifically, Hawaiians that he was focused on getting Maui everything it needed, he was MIA—out attending lavish fundraisers and racing back to vacation.

All the while, Maui residents were crying out for help from their own government.

  1. Maui Residents Blast Biden’s Lack of Response

A professional surfer named Kai Lenny, who has been leading local, citizen-run relief efforts, told CBS News he hadn’t “seen a government employee in days.”

“Some of us … were kinda sitting back, waiting for help to arrive,” he explained, “and then nothing was sorta happening. We were just in shock.”

It was texts and emails from friends asking for help that led Lenny to start his “boots on the ground” effort to deliver “supplies to those in need with the goal of holding friends and family over until” the government “arrives with everything.” But the government didn’t show, he said, “And it was just like, day after day, ‘Where are they?'”

  1. Biden Uses Maui Visit to Tell Unintelligible Jokes About “Hot Ground”

So after Biden is roused from his second vacation in as many weeks to show up in Maui, President Sociopath decides to get cute again. Keep in mind over 100 people are confirmed dead, more than 800 are missing, and countless numbers have lost everything, including pets, homes, and belongings… But here’s our Empathizer-In-Chief: “You guys catch the boots out here? That’s a hot ground, man.”

Do we send presidents to disaster areas to sightsee and offer comic relief?

  1. Biden Offers Devastated Maui Households a Cool $700 Each

Biden has sent more than $100 billion in relief to Ukraine, but he’s offering Americans who have literally lost everything $700.

Biden is spending thousands a month to house and feed the tens of thousands of illegal aliens he’s allowed to invade the country, but Americans who have literally lost everything only deserve a one-time payout of $700. Not a joke.

  1. Biden Uses Maui Tragedy to Lie About Nearly Losing His Home and Wife

The following shouldn’t be surprising coming from the same man who continues to lie about losing a son in Iraq, but while speaking to the victims of the Maui wildfires, His Fraudulency told a bald-faced lie about how “Jill and I … have a little sense [of] what it’s like to lose a home.”

“To make a long story short,” said Joe, “I almost lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat. But all kidding aside, I watched the firefighters, the way they responded…And they ran into flames to save my wife and save my family. Not a joke.”

He was talking about a kitchen fire in 2004.

9. Biden Dozes Off During Ceremony Honoring Maui Victims

Tell me he’s not sleeping:

Age is no excuse. Biden is plenty awake when he wants to be. If ice cream was served at this event or if he was watching Golden Girls, you can bet he’d be plenty alert.

The man doesn’t give a damn. Nothing happening at this sacred event or in Maui interests him.

Joe Biden finally gets to Maui, cracks joke to survivors about the time he ‘almost’ lost his ‘Corvette’

Alright, to be fair, the vintage Corvette roadster does double as a storage unit for classified government documents, so a financial hit from its loss wouldn’t just mean tens of thousands of dollars going up in smoke, but probably more like tens of millions. If that ‘Vette burned up, there goes his whole source of income! If the Chinese, and every other American adversary don't get access to classified docs, Biden ain't getting paid! You wouldn't deny a man a living wage, now would you?!

Now, apparently in 2004, one of Joe Biden’s residences experienced a minor fire — according to a 2004 report, lightning struck the home, “starting a small fire that was contained to the kitchen” and “no one was hurt” — but that didn’t stop Dementia Joe from prattling on to the survivors of the Maui blaze, about how he knows “what it’s like to lose a home”; watch below:

(I will say, I’m genuinely impressed at the restraint of the Hawaiian musicians standing just behind Joe.)

But if you know Joe Biden, you know it gets worse; brought to my attention by my colleague Monica Showalter, was this video clip:

The Democrats could have gotten anyone, but as fate would have it, they got Joe Biden. You know, the beauty of a politician is that at least in theory, they’re good at politicking (they can charm with forked tongues, lie with abandon, they’re slimy) but not Dementia Joe, he’s too far gone in his senility. He could have gotten up on that stage and issued empty but emotive condolences, putting on a spectacularly believable show, but he just can’t help himself.

Understandably so, people are outraged; however, Biden is never not despicable, so I am slightly confused how anyone is that surprised by what took place….

Now, if I were on Biden’s staff, I’d know a little bit about shifting blame and pointing fingers to avoid culpability, and the PR strategy seems like a no brainer solution: just pin it on Robin Ware or Robert L. Peters, or maybe even somebody they call the “Big Guy”? I heard he’s quite a menace.

Actually, now that I think of it, I’m certain it was one of those troublemakers that went off script and fell asleep at a somber memorial service, making Joe Biden look like a nincompoop; in fact, I saw it with my own eyes!

President Joe Biden waded through the aftermath of the wildfires in Maui where he appeared to joke about the “hot ground.”

The moment occurred on Monday as the president mingled with a first responder, prompting laughter from people nearby.

“You guys catch the boots out here? That’s a hot ground, man,” he joked.

In another moment, the president addressed Maui’s wildfire victims, and he attempted to relate to them by citing a fire his home endured back in 2004.

“I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it’s like to lose a home,” he said.

Biden said that he almost “lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat.”

The president used the moment to commend firefighters for their bravery.

According to a 2004 report from Firehouse.com, the fire at the Biden residence was contained to the kitchen:

Lightning struck the home of Sen. Joseph Biden, starting a small fire that was contained to the kitchen.

No one was injured in Sunday’s fire, which started amid a storm that caused serious flooding in Pennsylvania and knocked out power to hundreds of Delaware homes and businesses.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house, but were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen, said Cranston Heights Fire Company Chief George Lamborn.

The president arrived in Maui to survey the damage from the wildfires after 13 days.

“The country grieves with you, stands with you, and will do everything possible to help you recover, rebuild, and respect culture and traditions,” Biden said.

An estimated 480 people have died in the catastrophic fire, with over 800 still missing. Hawaii Gov. Josh Green (D) said on Sunday that a majority of those unaccounted for are likely children.

Biden makes belated visit to Maui wildfire zone as death toll rises to 114 and 850 remain missing

US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden visited the Hawaiian island of Maui on Monday evening, the site of the deadliest wildfire in US history in more than a century.

Biden made the obligatory walk in front of video cameras on Front Street in the town of Lahaina, which burned to the ground on August 8 and where 114 people are confirmed dead with 850 still missing, before he delivered remarks to the media.

The President made the belated trip amid an uproar of popular anger in Hawaii and across the country over his indifference, made explicit when he offered “no comment” in response to questions last week about the disaster.

He was accompanied by a group of local and state Democratic Party officials, including Hawaii Governor Josh Green, US Senators Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono and US Representative Jill Tokuda.

Biden spoke for approximately eight minutes and claimed—even though it took almost a week for him to emerge from his beach vacation in Delaware to comment on the disaster—that the US government would “be with” the survivors of the fire “for as long as it takes.”

As he has done throughout his presidency every time a deadly disaster strikes, Biden sought to use the death of his first wife and young daughter in an auto accident in 1972 to express empathy. “I know how it feels,” he said.

Biden gave few details about what the federal government was doing to address the needs of the thousands of people who are now homeless but instead attempted to defend his pathetic and delayed response to the crisis.

He boasted about being “quick to provide 55,000 meals, 75,000 liters of water, beds, 10,000 blankets” for a town where the people have lost everything. He told homeowners, renters and nonprofits, “If you need help, you can visit the FEMA disaster recovery center at Maui College or go to disasterassistance.gov.”

Biden did not offer any explanation or preliminary analysis of the causes of the catastrophe, both natural and man-made, even though much has already been exposed in the two weeks since the fire. Leading the entire capitalist political establishment, the US President presented the wildfire as a matter of fact and the government’s response to it as perfectly acceptable.

The devastating impact of the wildfire, driven by multiple climate change conditions such as drought and high winds from Hurricane Dora in the Pacific to the south of the island, ripped through West Maui on August 8 and 9. Although environmentalists had warned about the dangers of just such a fire, government emergency officials issued no warning, and residents had no time to evacuate before the fast-moving fire and extreme heat destroyed everything in its path.

Although FEMA authorities have said that survivors have been moved out of shelters and into hotels and homes, the Washington Post reported last Friday that many people without shelter are camping in tents nightly on the beaches or living in their cars. “Others,” the report continued, “are living in churches and golf clubs as they begin to think about what will come next.”

Meanwhile, the work of providing food is being done by church and charity groups. The Post reported, “Citizen Church Maui in Kahana has become a main hub to feed those displaced from the fire but also the many others who live along the coast but were far from the flames and have nowhere to eat.” The church is serving 3,000 meals per day.

In fact, the inability and refusal of the federal government to provide for the essential needs of the Maui disaster survivors was highlighted inadvertently by Governor Green, who spoke after Biden when he directed those who wish to support the residents of Maui to donate to the Red Cross.

As each day passes, those looking for missing relatives, including large numbers of children, are concluding that they have died. Governor Green told CBS “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning that just 27 of the 114 confirmed victims have been identified. The network reported on Monday that “Stories have started pouring in of children who were lost in the flames.”

In one instance, teenager Kenyero Fuentes was enjoying his last day of summer vacation when the fire hit his house. His adoptive mother, Luz Vargas, was working five miles from home when she and her husband tried to return to save their son, but they were blocked by traffic.

As CBS News reported, “When they were finally allowed to go to their house two days later, they found the body of their 14-year-old son, hugging the family’s dead dog. He was just days away from celebrating his 15th birthday.”

Biden’s trip to Maui was essentially an exercise in damage control. This was revealed in an interview by the Washington Post with Democratic Senator Brian Schatz, who strained to justify the inaction and lack of urgency from the White House.

“There are some times when a president promises support, but the Cabinet doesn’t really fully internalize the message,” Schatz said, adding, “And that’s not what’s happening here.”

Seeking to cover for Biden’s ineptitude and callousness, Schatz said, “[The president is] not the FEMA administrator so he’s not making [decisions] about when to open the road on West Maui or anything. His job is to tell the federal government to mobilize and mean it.”

Mark Levin Lists ‘Ruling Class Thugs Who Make Up the Cabal Trying to Imprison Trump’

On Monday, conservative commentator and Constitutional Scholar Mark Levin took to social media to list and expose some of “ruling class thugs” breaking and bending the law in their efforts to imprison Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump.

“And these are but a few of the ruling-class thugs who make up the cabal trying to imprison Trump,” Levin wrote in one post, introducing his list:

  • “Hunter Biden (GAMER LAWYER) should be in prison.”
  • “Joe Biden (GAMER LAWYER) should be in prison.”
  • “Hillary Clinton  (GAMER LAWYER) should be in prison.”
  • “Jack Smith (GAMER LAWYER) should've been disbarred for his past unethical (and worse) abuses of prosecutorial power.”
  • “Eric Holder (GAMER LAWYER) was never held to account for arming the Mexican drug cartels.”
  • “James Comey (GAMER LAWYER) was never held to account for his efforts to sabotage the incoming Trump administration.”
  • “Nancy Pelosi attempted multiple coups against Trump, including two phony impeachments and the January 6 Stalinist committee.”
  • “In 2016, congressional Democrats objected to counting all the electors on the House floor in an attempt to overturn the presidential election and install Hillary.”
  • “The corrupt Democrat Party-media assisted these thugs every step of the way (Russia collusion and all the rest).”
  • “The DA  (GAMER LAWYER) in Manhattan is a lapdog for George Soros.”
  • “The DA  (GAMER LAWYER)  in Fulton County, GA, whose father was part of the violent Black Panther movement, is a Democrat hack.”

In a separate social media post of a video clip from Sunday’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Host Levin goes into detail, explaining the secret abuses of prosecutorial power, violations of civil rights and Justice Department rules, and false charges the thugs are employing against Trump.

Levin condemns the corruption of “All these secret trial activities going on” and being used to rig the outcome of Trump’s cases - such as stripping the former president of Attorney-Client Privilege and Executive Privilege”:

“Trial by secrecy, in a Democrat courtroom, with a Democrat judge, a Democrat prosecutor, a Democrat grand jury, Democrat future jury.”

In particular, Levin notes how a secret search warrant was granted to allow the government to seize all communications (including private communications) the former president had on Twitter:

“Now, why was that done in secret? The bogus argument: ‘Well, if he finds out that we’re looking at his Twitter account, he may flee the country.’

“Yeah, he’ll leave his family, he’ll leave Mar a Lago, he’ll leave it all. He’ll just flee the country. Now, how ridiculous is that?”

Levin goes on to explain how corrupt prosecutors are using irrelevant statutes, as well as inventing and piling on countless charges - because they want the juries to be able to find just a single one they can use to justify convicting Trump - the front-running candidate to be Republicans’ 2024 nominee for president.

Schumer: GOP’s Investigations into Biden Family ‘Don’t Matter to the Average American’

0 seconds of 1 minute, 30 secondsVolume 90%

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the American people did not care about Republican lawmakers’ investigations into President Joe Biden’s son Hunter.

Schumer said, “Let’s compare it to the Republicans. We’re investing, there are investigating. All they seem to do is want to investigate this, that and the other thing. That doesn’t help the American people. The contrast of yesterday, a former president being indicted for trying to deny an election, and this president today talking about investing in America, that’s going to sink in. It’s our job to make sure it sinks in.”

Co-host Joe Scarborough said, “I mean, their investigations are so stupid I am embarrassed for them. They are talking to arms dealers and people that illegally smuggle oil to the Communist Chinese Party. They talk about tapes and the FBI Grassley gives up the game and says we don’t care if he’s guilty or not. I could go down the list.”

Schumer said, “These investigations don’t matter to the average American people. This is the right-wing, the hard right-wing talking to each other. Let them keep talking to each other. We’re talking to the American people.”

Scarborough said, “Yeah, talking to themselves.”

Six Obama Admin Officials Used Alias Emails: Obama, Hillary, Holder, Lynch, Jackson, Biden

Six Obama administration officials used alias email addresses, including then-Vice President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama.

Whether connected to a government network or not, it is unusual for government officials to use an email alias. Not only is it peculiar, it raises questions about why Obama administration officials utilized aliases and whether government secrets were compromised.

Below is a list of six U.S officials who used an email alias within the Obama administration:

1) Lisa Jackson, 2013

Jackson used the “Richard Windsor” alias as the former EPA Administrator, according to the Washington Post:

Jackson, who left the agency earlier this year, used an e-mail account associated with the pseudonym Richard Windsor to take online training programs on subjects including ethics, whistleblowers and records preservation, said the Competitive Enterprise Institute, which has been critical of the agency. CEI said Monday that it had obtained EPA records that covered certifications in 2010, 2011, and 2012 through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Republicans have pounced on Jackson’s use of the fake identity for her non-public e-mail account, saying that it might be part of an effort to skirt transparency and public records requirements. (As to the origin of the alias, Richard was the name of Jackson’s dog, and Windsor refers to East Windsor, N.J., Jackson’s former hometown).

 2) Loretta Lynch, 2016

Lynch used the email alias “Elizabeth Carlisle” as Obama’s attorney general, the Federalist reported:

Lynch was caught conducting a secret meeting with Bill Clinton aboard a private plane on a tarmac in Phoenix last year as Clinton’s wife pursued the presidency and amid an ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private, unsecured email server, which she illegally used during her tenure as secretary of State. Soon afterward, the former attorney general reportedly used a pseudonym to coordinate a narrative about the meeting with Department of Justice officials, Chuck Ross at The Daily Caller reports.

Also shortly after the private plane meeting, former FBI director James Comey announced that agency would not pursue a case against Clinton, despite admitting he had enough evidence to do so. A month later, Lynch announced the DOJ would not investigate the Clinton Foundation’s relationship with the State Department during Hillary’s tenure, despite the FBI’s recommendation to do so. The chain of events caused many to question Lynch’s motives, as it was also widely reported that Hillary planned to keep Lynch as attorney general had Clinton won the election.

3) Eric Holder, 2015

Holder used three separate alias email addresses after he took office in 2009 as the attorney general, the Los Angeles Times reported:

Holder’s previous aliases were Henry Yearwood and David Kendricks, Fallon confirmed. His current alias has not been released.

The alias “Henry Yearwood” is a combination of his mother’s maiden name and the first name of another family member, the Huffington Post reported. “David Kendricks” is a mashing of Temptations members David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks, according to the Post.

4) Barack Obama, 2016

Obama used an alias email address to communicate with his secretary of state, two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. None-for-profit Marco Polo unearthed his alias as “Obama725.” Politico reported:

The State Department has refused to make public that and other emails Clinton exchanged with Obama. Lawyers have cited the “presidential communications privilege,” a variation of executive privilege, in order to withhold the messages under the Freedom of Information Act.

The report doesn’t provide more details on the contents of that particular email exchange, but says it took place on June 28, 2012, and had the subject line: “Re: Congratulations.” It may refer to the Supreme Court’s ruling that day upholding a key portion of the Obamacare law.

It’s been known since last year that Obama and Clinton corresponded occasionally via her private account, but the White House has insisted Obama did not know she relied on it routinely and exclusively for official business.

5) Joe Biden, 2016

Joe Biden used aliases “Robert Peters,” “Robin Ware,” and “JRB Ware” for personal and professional use. In 2016, “Robert Peters” received an email about a scheduled call with the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian official who fired the prosecutor investigating Burisma Holdings. The energy company was paying Hunter Biden $83,000 a month to sit on the board.

The House Oversight Committee argues that Joe Biden threatened to withhold U.S. aid to Ukraine in 2015 until the president of Ukraine fired prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who had jurisdiction for an investigation into the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.

Hunter Biden’s laptop contained 27 emails linked to Joe Biden’s pseudonym email address, Marco Polo’s dossier cataloged.

6) Hilary Clinton, 2016

Hillary Clinton used two alias email addresses “hdr22” and “hrod17,” uncovered by the infamous email scandal, Breitbart News reported:

Hillary Clinton set up a private email server, and a private email network for herself and her family and Abedin. Doing so could prevent her emails from being “accessible” to the federal government, not to mention Congress.

The private network allowed Clinton, Abedin, and aides Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan to swap emails with the Clinton Foundation, various world leaders, and Doug Band’s global consulting firm Teneo Holdings, where Abedin also worked during her time at the State Department. This would have been problematic, considering Clinton’s 2009 ethics agreement, leaked on Cryptome, in which she vowed not to coordinate with the Clinton Foundation.

The FBI investigation began with one simple premise: that Hillary Clinton violated the Espionage Act of 1913 by allowing national defense information to be “lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed” through “gross negligence.” Clinton team emails have now ended up in the hands of Julian Assange — a man who lives sequestered in an Ecuadorian embassy — and in the hands of detectives in the Anthony Weiner sexting case.

As egregious as all these payments and shell game money transfers were, the scope and scale of Biden deal activities in China crosses a new threshold requiring urgent correction.

Biden's Criminal Enterprise

In creating a free and open system, the framers of the Constitution recognized that corrupting influence from foreign powers was a real threat. They were particularly concerned about a corruptible American president. In his famous Farewell Address of 1796,  George Washington issued a stern warning against the poisonous influence of foreign governments on the affairs of the new United States of America. He said, "Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence... the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government."

The Founders were idealists but also realists, and they recognized that people’s private ambitions and thirst for power or money were powerful motivators. They understood that the human condition was flawed, and that goodness of human nature could not be relied upon. So, they set up a system of checks and balances of power in the three branches of the legislative, the executive and the judiciary, and in a federal system of divided power between  states and the federal government. They understood it was necessary to create these competing and redundant structures to guard against abuse of power and corruption. But they went even further.

The Constitution created two other safeguards against corruption in the impeachment powers of Article II, Section 4 and in the emoluments clause in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the U.S. Constitution. The latter prohibits any person holding a government office from accepting any present, emolument, office, or title from any foreign state without congressional consent. With these safeguards, the Founders believed they had created a governmental system better than any prior to forestall domestic public vice and the corruption that would come from foreign influence. Still, Washington’s Farewell Address of 1797 framed the issue in ways that are as relevant today as they were 227 years ago, when he wrote:

The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave… to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest. Antipathy in one nation against another disposes each more readily to offer insult and injury… So, likewise, a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification.

The standard for impeachment as expressed in the Constitution is conviction of Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

President Joe Biden’s questionable activities go back to his first year as Vice President in 2009 and continued  throughout his eight years serving in the two-term Obama administration, punctuated with son Hunter being paid $1 million a year as a board member of  the Ukrainian energy company Burisma in 2014. That role continued for more than four years, with a large $10 million dollar payoff from Burisma coming to Hunter and Joe Biden after the latter blackmailed Ukraine by threatening the withholding of $1 billion in U.S. aid unless  prosecutor general Victor Shokin was fired from the corruption investigation of Burisma in March of 2016 -- an investigation that would have exposed fraud, including questionable payments to Hunter Biden.  FBI documents refer to the two $5 million payments to Hunter and Joe Biden as a 'bribe' paid by Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky.

The case for impeaching President Joe Biden goes beyond bribery and emolument high crimes related to Ukraine. In 2014, Hunter Biden introduced his father, then Vice President, to Kazakhstan oligarch Kenes Rakishev at a dinner. Records and testimony obtained by James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee show that at that time of introducing  Rakishev to Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden and his business partner Devon Archer were working on a deal involving Burisma, on whose board they both served, and a Chinese company that would have been based in Kazakhstan. To facilitate the deal and his relationship with Archer and the Bidens, Rakishev wired $142,300 to Rosemont Seneca -- a shell company created by Devon and Hunter -- the exact amount needed to fund Hunter's sportscar purchase the next day.

Another mysterious payment to the Bidens came during that same year. Shortly after Joe Biden was introduced to Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina at a dinner meeting in February 2014,  $3.5 million was wired to Rosemont Seneca by Baturina.

These kinds of payments to the Bidens coming from oligarchs from Ukraine and other countries are way beyond a level where impeachment and removal from office is justified. Also, the means of transferring and distributing funds follows the pattern of international criminal enterprises. The Bidens were involved with the creation of  some twenty shell companies for the purpose of concealing money transfers from foreign nationals and then distributing those transferred funds to as many as nine different Biden family members.

As egregious as all these payments and shell game money transfers were, the scope and scale of Biden deal activities in China crosses a new threshold requiring urgent correction.

China engages in unrestricted warfare against the United States, something that the Founders could hardly fathom. Blackmail was not then a term in wide usage, having first been coined in Scotland in the 17th century. Today blackmail is one of the chief tools in China’s massive elite capture program in the United States, giving them control over many in government in the United States -- with the top elite family in the U.S. being Joe Biden’s family. Preliminary records assembled in 2021 and 2022 by investigative journalists without subpoena power or access to bank records show that the Chinese elite have paid some $31 million to the Biden family. For the Chinese, these payments were and are about control and blackmail, which may explain why Biden more than any other U.S. president has pursued policies that have weakened the United States and helped China.

Bring on impeachment and let the hearings on the Bidens’ involvement in China begin.

Hunter Biden’s Broken Car Cost Taxpayers $139 Million

Did the Big Guy help provide a loan to a Hunter-backed car company?

When Hunter Biden was driving 172 miles an hour while smoking crack on the way to meet prostitutes in Las Vegas, the son of a future president was driving a Porsche 911.

Devon Archer, Hunter’s closest partner, told the House Oversight Committee that the car had been paid for by an oligarch from Kazakhstan. “I believe it was a Fisker first and then a Porsche.”

Kenes Rakishev, the banker for Kazakhstan’s dictator and a close associate of Ramzan Kadyrov, Putin’s ruthless Chechen warlord, had allegedly bought Hunter the sports car after a meeting with Joe and Hunter at Cafe Milano: an exclusive D.C. eatery that the Washington Post had described as “Washington’s ultimate place to see and be seen.”

The Fisker Karma was more than just another sports car. The electric luxury vehicle was a social statement that had been backed by a $529 million loan to the Europeans behind it.

Vice President Joe Biden, told local politicians, union members, and Fisker executives in Wilmington, Delaware in 2009 that Fisker would be bringing green jobs for everyone..

Joe Biden cited “a real commitment by this Administration” and “loans from the Department of Energy” that would help “America’s auto industry reclaim its top position in the global market. Of the total loan, $359 million is going to revive manufacturing at the Boxwood Plant.”

The then vice president made no mention of Hunter’s business interests, Fisker’s backing by Al Gore’s venture capital fund or that the $170 million remainder of the loan would be going to build Fisker’s ‘Karma’ cars in Finland.

“We’re not in the business of failing; we’re in the business of winning. So we make the right decision for the business,” Fisker said. “That’s why we went to Finland.”

Hunter Biden was not in the business of failing either: it just seemed to happen anyway. Armed with his father’s backing and that of local Delaware officials, he was working to transform the state’s rust belt infrastructure, like the old GM plant that Fisker was promising to take over, into green energy ventures that would cash in on the massive redistribution of taxpayer money through the $90 billion allocated for green energy companies in Obama’s ‘Recovery Act’.

Emails went back and forth between Hunter Biden, Delaware’s governor and the head of the state’s office of economic development who described a green energy project touted by Hunter as coming from the “vice president’s office”. The line between Joe Biden and his son’s business ventures, which is at the heart of the House Oversight Committee, seemed barely there.

After Fisker’s loan had been secured, Wayne Kimmel, Hunter’s childhood friend and a venture capitalist, who along with Hunter had cosponsored an inaugural breakfast to celebrate his dad’s new job, emailed Hunter to ask for an introduction to Chris Heinz, John Kerry’s stepson and a co-founder of Hunter’s Rosemont Seneca firm, to discuss Fisker.

“Its our fund that’s in the deal,” Hunter replied.

And what made the deal work was $529 million in taxpayer money. The Delaware launch, attended by Joe Biden, was ultimately going to benefit Hunter Biden’s company.

“Hunter… sincere thanks for any and all help provided concerning Fisker, particularly intro to Wayne. Also, congrats to all on the finalization of the Boxwood Plant transfer, announced on Monday,” Barry Yerger, a financial mover and shaker recently appointed by Joe Biden to the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, wrote.

While the Fisker disaster unfolded, there was no mention of the Biden role in the company.

Fisker was supposed to build “affordable” electric cars in Delaware that would cost $40,000. Instead it built the ‘Karmas’ in Finland. They cost six figures, were too heavy, the hybrid’s gas mileage was no better than some regular cars and the tires wore out in a year.

But Hunter wanted one anyway, perhaps to drive or to show off to prospective investors.

By 2012, the target date, $193 million of the loan had been spent on the ‘Karma’ and other projects, and nothing was happening in Delaware. In 2013, the only option, the local media warned was “Chinese billionaires” preparing for Fisker’s bankruptcy auction. One of those Chinese billionaires would win the auction despite his company, which promised to make the electric cars, being created a few months beforehand with no office address or phone number, after rigging the auction and “cheating taxpayers out of millions of dollars”.

A few months after a Kazakh oligarch allegedly bought Hunter a Fisker Karma, it was already breaking down. Meanwhile Joe Biden was meeting with a different set of foreign executives.

Joe Biden invited two executives from Wanxiang, a Chinese automotive company that would gobble up Fisker, to the White House. A few days later one of the executives promised to help get Hunter’s Fisker Karma fixed.

“Last Friday when we visited D.C., I heard that your Fisker is out of order and could not get serviced. Sorry,” the Chinese executive wrote. “It would be our honor to get your Fisker fixed… I would like to give you a call to see what we could do as next step.”

The Chinese executive mentioned, “It would be our great honor to welcome you to visit Fisker or Wanxiang at any time.”

Did the Chinese executive hear about Fisker and the state of Hunter’s car from him or his dad? The executive’s phrasing suggests that he had heard about it from someone other than Hunter.

The head of Delaware’s economic development office claimed that Hunter Biden had offered to “to link the governor with Chinese investors interested in acquiring the auto plant.” But nothing happened. Wanxiang never built any cars there, but instead sold it off to a private developer.

No cars would be built on the auto plant. Instead taxpayers were left not only with over $100 million in losses, but local taxpayers were also on the hook for its $400,000 power bill.

The green energy disaster was not the only one that came from Obama’s corrupt Recovery Act.

Sun Edison, a solar panel company, became the biggest green energy bankruptcy, benefiting from as much as $1.5 billion in government grants and subsidies. In an email, Devon Archer mentioned to Hunter that he was planning to meet with Sun Edison “in the next few weeks and qualify if there’s opportunity”. The Biden administration appointed Jigar Shah, Sun Edison’s founder, to head the loan office at the Department of Energy distributing green energy grants.

There is no shortage of opportunities and expenses. The story of Fisker suggests that Joe Biden’s abuse of his office to help Hunter’s economic interests may go as far back as 2009. Not long after Joe became vice president, Hunter was benefiting from the connection.

Americans lost over $100 million on Fisker, but thanks to the services of a Kazakh oligarch and some Chinese automotive executives, Hunter Biden got a $142,000 lemon.

Until he traded it in for a Porsche.

Maui Wildfires: Barricade Blocked Only Paved Road out of Lahaina

Burnt out cars line the sea walk after the wildfire on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, in Lahaina, Hawaii. Hawaii emergency management records show no indication that warning sirens sounded before people ran for their lives from wildfires on Maui that killed multiple people and wiped out a historic town. Instead, …

(AP) As flames tore through a West Maui neighborhood, car after car of fleeing residents headed for the only paved road out of town in a desperate race for safety.

And car after car was turned back toward the rapidly spreading wildfire by a barricade blocking access to Highway 30.

One family swerved around the barricade and was safe in a nearby town 48 minutes later, another drove their 4-wheel-drive car down a dirt road to escape. One man took a dirt road uphill, climbing above the fire and watching as Lahaina burned. He later picked his way through the flames, smoke and rubble to pull survivors to safety.

But dozens of others found themselves caught in a hellscape, their cars jammed together on a narrow road, surrounded by flames on three sides and the rocky ocean waves on the fourth. Some died in their cars, while others tried to run for safety.

“I could see from the bypass that people were stuck on the balconies, so I went down and checked it out,” said Kekoa Lansford, who made several trips into town to look for survivors. What he found was horrible, Lansford said, with dead bodies and flames like a hellish movie scene. “And I could see that people were on fire, that the fire was just being stoked by the wind, and being pushed toward the homes.”

The road closures — some because of the fire, some because of downed power lines — contributed to making historic Lahaina the site of the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century. But there were many problems that day, and in some ways the disaster began long before the fires started.

flash drought in the region provided plenty of kindling, and Hurricane Dora brought strong winds to Maui as it passed roughly 500 miles (800 kilometers) south of the Hawaii island chain. Those winds downed at least 30 power poles in West Maui, and Hawaiian Electric had no procedure in place for turning off the grid — a common practice in other fire-prone states. Video shot by a Lahaina resident shows a downed powerline setting dry grasses alight, possibly revealing the start of the larger fire.

And later, as the fire began to swallow homes in its ravenous path, Maui County emergency officials declined to use an extensive network of emergency sirens to alert Lahaina’s residents to flee.

During a news conference Tuesday, Maui Police Chief John Pelletier said police officers drove up and down streets, knocking on doors and using loudspeakers to tell people to leave, but he didn’t say exactly where and what time those efforts occurred. The Associated Press has filed public records requests for location reports and other documentation including video and internal communications to clarify the details of the police and fire response, but Maui County has not yet released that information.

A team of Associated Press journalists documented the first hours of the deadly wildfire by interviewing dozens of survivors and public officials, examining public documents and analyzing citizen videos, satellite images and publicly available data. The timeline reveals the chaos that overtook the town.

Shane Treu wakes early on Aug. 8, and is in his backyard when he hears a utility pole snap next to Lahainaluna Road. He sees the downed powerline ignite the grass, and calls 911 at 6:37 a.m. to report the fire.

Small brush fires aren’t unusual for Lahaina, and the fire department declares this one 100% contained by 9:55 a.m. The assurance puts many residents at ease; the high winds have prompted the closure of some public schools for the day, and others have not yet started. That means many of Lahaina’s 3,000 public school students are home alone while their parents work.

Contained is not controlled, however, and the town is being battered by high winds. While many of Maui County’s fire crews work to extinguish the Upcountry fire on the eastern half of the island, the wind is toppling power poles and scattering embers like seeds in Lahaina.

Treu’s neighbor Robert Arconado said the fire reignites around 2 p.m. He records video of it spreading at 3:06 p.m., as large plumes of smoke rise near Lahainaluna Road and are carried downtown by the wind.

Around 3:20 p.m., Lahaina resident Kevin Eliason is watching the black smoke from a vantage point closer to downtown when passersby tell him a power pole has been knocked onto the tar roof of a gas station two blocks away, creating fireballs that are being blown in the wind, he said.

Eliason said the fire knocked the power out in the area soon after.

Ten minutes later, Hawaiian Electric sends a news release asking Maui residents to prepare for extended outages. The utility says more than 30 power poles are down in West Maui, including along the Honoapiilani Highway at the south end of Lahaina. At the same time, the fire department closes the Lahaina Bypass road because of the fire.

The closures block the only route out of Lahaina to the south. Two weeks later, Maui Police Chief John Pelletier says during a news conference that officers never stopped people from leaving Lahaina that day but did try to prevent them from driving over live power lines.

Back in the subdivision near Lahainaluna Road, the first sign of trouble for Nate Baird and Courtney Stapleton comes at 3:40 p.m., when their 9- and 10-year-old sons say they can smell s’mores.

By the time the family piles into the car with their dog and Baird’s mother and joins a caravan of evacuating residents, parts of the subdivision are beginning to burn. A telephone pole falls behind their car, causing an accident and blocking a side street.

Meanwhile, police officers knock down a fence to help others escape, the police chief says later. Firefighters in the area nearly become trapped themselves, losing a truck to the flames, Pelletier says.

When Baird and his family turn south to drive out of town, the way is blocked by cones and a crew working on downed electric poles. The workers were motioning for everyone to turn back toward Lahaina.

They decide they don’t care what the crew wants, swerving around the cones and heading south. They make it to a neighboring town by 4:18 p.m. and begin texting people to see who else has made it out.

“Nobody realized how little time we really had,” Baird said. “Like even us being from the heart of the fire, we did not comprehend. Like we literally had minutes and one wrong turn. We would all be dead right now.”

Jonelle Santos said her daughter, Ronelle Santos-Adrian, managed to escape her Lahaina affordable housing apartment with her 3-year-old daughter and partner by turning their four-wheel-drive vehicle away from the standstill traffic and onto a dirt road, eventually finding their way to a friend’s house in Napili. Some of the other people who lived in the apartment complex didn’t have cars, Santos said, and her daughter thinks some of them didn’t make it out.

Kim Cuevas-Reyes narrowly escapes with her 12- and 15-year-old by ignoring instructions to turn right on Front Street toward Lahaina’s Civic Center, which earlier in the day had been turned into a shelter for refugees. Instead, she takes a left, driving in the wrong lane to pass a stack of cars heading in the other direction.

“The gridlock would have left us there when the firestorm came,” said Cuevas-Reyes, 38. “I would have had to tell my children to jump into the ocean as well and be boiled alive by the flames or we would have just died from smoke inhalation and roasted in the car.”

At 5:20 p.m., Maui County shares another update on Facebook. The road leading south out of Lahaina has been cleared and is open for traffic, the county says.

But by then, some on Front Street have already died, according to survivor accounts. Others have jumped over the seawall and are treading water, dodging flaming debris and breathing overheated black smoke.

At some point, police begin directing people away from Front Street, Pelletier says, “because it had already gotten too late.” He does not say exactly when that that point is reached.

A private ambulance company calls the U.S. Coast Guard at about 5:45 p.m., asking for help transporting 10 injured people from Lahaina to Maalaea because a fire is blocking road access to Lahaina. It is the Coast Guard’s first notification of the fire.

People in the water and on boat moorings use flashlights and phones to guide the boats through the thick smoke. The Coast Guard rescues nearly 40 people from the shore, and pulls 17 people from the water while civilians help pull more from the ocean. The rescue efforts stretch into the early morning hours.

Kekoa Lansford is among the rescuers. Earlier, he had climbed a hill behind the town and watched as the city burned, trying to gauge when it would be safe to return. Lansford said he knew people would need help “because the roads are small, and it’s pretty tight down there.”

Over the next several hours, Lansford makes repeated trips into the still-burning downtown, often using back roads to travel safely.

“I seen one girl and her legs was all burned up, and then I helped her,” Lansford said. “And then something just clicked in my head, like, everybody’s going to be burned up. So I just kept going back down.”

Lansford focuses his effort on Front Street, getting as many people as he can out of the fire.

“Pulling them off behind the seawall, you know, and walking them back to my truck,” he said.

He takes each person to a place that seems safe from fire where they can be picked up by others. And then he goes back to find more.

“Just getting them out of the fire, make sure they don’t die of smoke inhalation. Some of them will die after anyway,” he recounted.

The houses and buildings are too hot to enter, he said, and a popular spot for watching the sunset has become a death zone.

When the sun rises on Wednesday, the town that was once home to about 13,000 people has become an ashen wasteland frozen in its final moments of panic.

More than 100 deaths have been confirmed, and roughly 1,000 people remain unaccounted for.

Many of the survivors are angry, and haunted by the thought that a just few minutes of notice could have saved many lives.

Baird’s neighborhood near Lahainaluna Road was filled with kids who were home alone when the flames hit, he said.

“We needed like 10 more minutes, and we could have saved a lot of kids,” he said, choking back tears. “If we’d just had like a 10- or 15-minute warning.”

The family ventured out to a Kahului mall recently, looking for a moment of normalcy in the aftermath of the tragedy. They ran into a playmate of their son.

“The kids just don’t have a filter. So their son ran up and was just telling our son, you know, ‘This kid is dead. This kid is dead.’ And it’s like, all my son’s friends that they come to our house every day,” he said. “And their parents were at work, and they were home alone. And nobody had a warning. Nobody, nobody, nobody knew.”

Maui County Sues Hawaiian Electric for Causing Wildfire Through Negligence

Maui County, the local government of the Hawaiian island that suffered a devastating wildfire earlier this month, sued the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) on Thursday, alleging it caused the blaze though negligence.

President Joe Biden’s administration has explicitly blamed climate change for the blaze, with senior “clean energy” adviser John Podesta going further and touting Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act as the solution. But it turns out that the spread of alien, invasive grass species on abandoned farmland was a major factor in providing fuel for the blaze that destroyed the town of Lahaina, and local authorities are placing immediate blame on the local power company.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

Maui County filed a lawsuit … in state Second Circuit Court in Hawaii against Hawaiian Electric and its subsidiaries on Maui, alleging the company failed to maintain the electrical system and power grid during a windstorm that lashed the island, resulting in three different fires that erupted on Aug. 8.

The lawsuit claims that the utility, known as HECO, acted negligently by not pre-emptively cutting power despite a warning the prior day from the National Weather Service of high winds and temperatures, along with low humidity—prime conditions for a wildfire. It also says HECO’s failure to maintain its system led to energized, downed power lines causing the fires.

The utility has also been faulted for spending money on “green” energy alternatives rather than in improving the safety of its transmission network, which had been identified as a potential source of wildfire risk in the recent past.

The case appears similar to that of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company in California, whose transmission network has been blamed for sparking several massive wildfires in recent years during periods of high wind. There, too, the political left has blamed climate change, though conservatives have pointed out that poor forest management and environmental policies have allowed brush to grow in forests and around infrastructure, creating more fuel for fires.

Several power companies in California now cut power during periods of high wind, such as Santa Ana winds in Southern California, due to the risk of power lines toppling and sparking devastating wildfires as a result.

Joe Biden Lies, Tells Maui Fire Survivors He Has a Sense of ‘What It’s Like to Lose a Home’

President Joe Biden compared a small kitchen fire at his home in Delaware 19 years ago to the devastation in Lahaina, Maui, telling victims he had a sense of what it was like to “lose a home.”

“I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it’s like to lose a home,” he said while at the Lahaina Civic Center.

“To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my ‘67 Corvette, and my cat. But all kidding aside, I watched the firefighters, the way they responded…And they ran into flames to save my wife and save my family. Not a joke,” he added.

An Associated Press article from August 2, 2004, on the fire called it “small” and “contained to the kitchen.” It was under control in 20 minutes, according to the fire company chief.

It said:

Lightning struck the home of Sen. Joseph Biden, starting a small fire that was contained to the kitchen.

No one was injured in Sunday’s fire, which started amid a storm that caused serious flooding in Pennsylvania and knocked out power to hundreds of Delaware homes and businesses.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house, but were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen, said Cranston Heights Fire Company Chief George Lamborn.

“Luckily, we got it pretty early,” he said. “The fire was under control in 20 minutes.”

There are 850 people still unaccounted for,  Mayor Richard Bissen said in a Facebook post on Monday. So far, 115 have been confirmed dead, according to Maui County.

Many of those dead are feared to be children, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green confirmed Sunday. “That is possible that there will be many children,” he said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”

There is still 15 percent of Lahaina to be searched, which includes larger residential buildings where remains might be more difficult to recover, according to Green.

Over 800 people are missing in the aftermath of the wildfires in Hawaii’s Maui, as the death toll reaches 115.

As of Monday night, first responders had searched all single-story residences and are now moving to “multi-story residential and commercial properties.”

“The most up-to-date fatality numbers and identification information are included in the Maui Police Department’s daily press release, anticipated to be issued by 6 p.m. daily,” Monday evening’s update posted by the county read.

“At the time of this announcement, there are 115 confirmed fatalities with 100% of the single-story, residential properties searched in the disaster area. Search teams will now transition to searching multi-story residential and commercial properties,” it added.

According to the latest update from the police department, posted on August 21, of the 115 fatalities confirmed, 35 individuals had been indentified. Of those, 13 individuals have been identified and their families notified. Another 22 victims have been identified, but their families either have not been located or have not been notified.

Several hundred individuals, however, remain missing, although the exact number is unknown.

As the Associated Press reported:

There are also widely varying accounts of the tally of the missing. Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said Sunday on the CBS News show “Face the Nation” that more than 1,000 remained unaccounted for. Maui Mayor Richard Bissen said in a pre-recorded video on Instagram that the number was 850. And during President Joe Biden’s tour of the devastation on Monday, White House homeland security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall put it between 500 and 800.

LAHAINA, Hawaii, (AP) — President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden on Monday viewed the devastation wrought by the flames that ripped through the western part of the Hawaiian island, seeing for themselves the hollowed homes, structures and singed trees left behind by the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century.

The Bidens lingered briefly on the tarmac after arriving at Kahului Airport to console Hawaii Governor Josh Green and his wife Jaime Green as well as members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation who came to the airport to greet them. The president and first lady embraced each of their greeters before boarding Marine One for an aerial tour of the devastation caused by the fires.

Biden later got a close up look of the wreckage in Lahaina, a historic town of 13,000 people that was virtually destroyed by the flames. His motorcade wound through the community of block upon block of hollowed out homes and structures, palm trees burnt to a crisp and endless debris.

The couple is meeting with first responders and is being briefed by state and local officials about the ongoing response.

The Democratic president will deliver remarks paying tribute to the victims of the wildfires, which have killed more than 100 people since they erupted on Aug. 8. The Bidens interrupted a weeklong vacation in the Lake Tahoe area for the five-hour flight to Lahaina.

“It’s going to be an emotional day for everyone,” said Olivia Dalton, the White House deputy press secretary, told reporters traveling with Biden.

The White House announced Monday that Biden has named Bob Fenton, a regional leader at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to be the chief federal response coordinator for the Maui wildfires, ensuring that someone from his administration will be responsible for long-term recovery efforts. It will take years to rebuild Lahaina, where just about every building was obliterated.

“I know how profoundly loss can impact a family and a community and I know nothing can replace the loss of life,” Biden said in a statement before the trip. “I will do everything in my power to help Maui recover and rebuild from this tragedy. And throughout our efforts, we are focused on respecting sacred lands, cultures, and traditions.”

Dozens gathered on the streets of Lahaina to watch Biden’s motorcade wind its way through the streets. Some greeted the president enthusiastically, but others appeared to be waving their middle fingers at the motorcade.

Biden has faced criticism from Republicans, including 2024 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, for saying too little during the first days after the catastrophe. The White House, however, has pushed back against the criticism, saying the president kept in close touch with the governor and other emergency officials throughout the unfolding crisis.

Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, said that as of Sunday about 85% of the affected area had been searched and nearly 2,000 people remained without power and 10,000 were without telecom connectivity. Water in parts of west Maui is not safe to drink.

While immediate aid such as water, food and blankets has been readily distributed to residents, Schatz said cellphones, ID and other documents that people would need to help them enroll in longer-term aid programs were burned in the fires, adding more challenges to the application process.

Green said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that “an army of search and rescue teams” with 41 dogs had blanketed the affected area.

Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen said in a social media post Sunday that 27 victims had been identified and 11 families were notified of the losses. The FBI and the Maui County medical examiner and coroner’s office are working together to identify the recovered remains.

Bissen said 850 names were on a list of missing people, taking hope from the fact that the initial list contained more than 2,000 names.

“We are both saddened and relieved about these numbers as we continue the recovery process,” Bissen said. “The number of identified will rise, and the number of missing may decrease.”

More than 1,000 federal officials remain on the ground to respond to the wildfires in Hawaii, according to the White House. The administration has distributed more than $8.5 million in aid to some 8,000 affected families, including $3.6 million in rental assistance, said FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.

Schatz, who will join Biden on Monday, stressed that officials were “still responding to the disaster” and “we are not yet in a recovery phase.”

“As bad as this looks, it’s actually worse,” he said in a phone interview on Sunday. “What you can’t see is the damage to utility infrastructure. What you can’t see is the thousands of kids who are trying to figure out how to go to school this fall. What you can’t see is the first responders who went into the flames without regard for their own safety and had their own homes burned down.”

While vacationing in Lake Tahoe, Biden has been on the phone regularly with officials to get briefed on updates to the wildfire response, the White House said.

Biden Tells Devastated Hawaiians About the Time He Almost Lost His Corvette In a Small Fire

A quick note, to the simple-minded: if you’re trying to make someone feel better about losing their home, their livelihood, and everything they’ve ever owned due to a natural disaster, don’t tell them about that one time you stubbed your toe as a way to relate.

But apparently no one gave Joe Biden that memo, being that that’s exactly what he just did in Hawaii Monday when he told displaced islanders about how his kitchen once caught fire, a fairly innocuous story that Biden has grossly exaggerated over years of repeating it.

“I don’t want to compare difficulties, but I have a little sense, Jill and I, of what it’s like to lose a home,” Biden began.

He then launched into the story of how “about 15 years ago” (it was almost 20) he was in Washington, D.C. when he got the call that his house had caught fire thanks to an unfortunate lightning strike.

“Long story short, I almost lost my wife, my '67 corvette and my cat,” he joked.

According to a report at the time, the Bidens’ 2004 near-death encounter was described as a “small fire” that was “contained to the kitchen” and "was under control in 20 minutes." But that hasn't stopped the president from upping the size of the fish and describing the incident as a raging inferno that almost claimed the life of his spouse and nearly destroyed his beloved sports car.

Related: Maui Revelations: There Were Widespread Power-Grid Malfunctions Just Before Wildfires Raged

Biden told the same story to survivors of a Colorado wildfire back in January of 2022, where he claimed that “We only lost about 25% of [the house]. We were able to rebuild. But, you know, the hard part is the memorabilia you lost. The special things that you had put away that you lost.”

He also mentioned the same story in 2021, when he claimed, “And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it — she got out safely, God willing — that having a significant portion of it burn, I can tell, 10 minutes makes a hell of a difference.”

The truth makes a hell of a difference, too - not that Biden would know.

Then there is the Biden family (FOUR GAMER LAWYERS - JOE, HUNTER, JAMES, FRANK - OWNED BY GEORGE SOROS corruption, followed closely behind by similar abuses of power and office by the Warren (GAMER LAWYER) and Sanders families, as Peter Schweizer described in his recent book “Profiles in Corruption.” These names just scratch the surface of government corruption (ADD GAMER LAWYER KAMALA HARRIS (WANTS TO BE OWNED BY GEORGE SOROS) AND HER LAWYER HUSBAND AND THE BANKSTERS’ RENT BOY, LAWYER CHUCK SCHUMER, OWNED BY LARRY FINK OF BLACKROCK WHO OWNS A BIG PIECES OF THE ‘BIG GUY’ JOE, AND GEORGE SOROS’ RENT BOY GAMER LAWER TONY BLINKEN, GEORGE SOROS RENT BOY, AS WELL AS CON MAN ADAM SHIFF) AND HIS CORRUPTNESS BOB MENENDEZ STILL EVADING PRISON.

Chuck Schumer has also been in government since the 1980s and helped create the economy of today that makes it virtually impossible for people my age to build wealth and start a family. The man has literally done nothing but preside over America’s decline.                     OLIVIA MURRAY

Lisa Jackson
