BLACK Woman slams 10-year-old's head into cookie display at Troy mall
A 19-year-old man in Chicago is accused of stealing a car after getting into trouble for a pair of similar cases in 2023.
Officials charged the man with stealing the vehicle while he was wearing an ankle monitor for two other stolen car incidents in March, CWB Chicago reported on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Jonathan Curtis, is behind bars and labeled a public safety threat and flight risk in two of the cases.
“Clearly wasn’t monitored well enough! Smh,” one social media user commented on the story, while another said, “Well who could have seen that coming?”
The CWB Chicago report continued:
North Riverside cops arrested Curtis on March 2, saying he struck one of their patrol cars with a stolen Jeep Cherokee and also possessed a loaded firearm, according to court records. After appearing before Judge Sheree Henry, he posted a $500 bail deposit and went home on an ankle monitor the next day.
Two months later, Judge Geary Kull ordered the sheriff’s office to remove Curtis’ ankle monitor.
And, two months after that, on July 13, cops arrested Curtis for allegedly possessing a stolen Toyota Camry in the 600 block of North Lorel. Prosecutors charged him with possessing a stolen motor vehicle and fleeing and attempting to elude.
Illinois became the first state in the nation to eliminate cash bail in September, Breitbart News reported at the time. The decision brought heavy criticism to the Democrat-controlled state.
Per the CWB Chicago article, the suspect was told to go home in October and was fitted with an ankle monitor. However, a few months later, police allegedly watched Curtis steal a car its owner left running as it was parked on North Campbell.
The officers tailed him until he exited the vehicle on North Juneway Terrace. When he got back into the car, the officers tried to make a traffic stop but were forced to stop pursuing when he busted through a pair of red lights.
The suspect’s ankle monitor GPS reportedly showed he was there when those incidents occurred.
It is important to note that in 2020, Chicago police introduced a vehicle pursuit policy that gave officers a list to consider when deciding if they should chase a vehicle, according to Breitbart News.
The recent CWB Chicago article said the suspect was arrested for this third case and charged with aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle as well as aggravated fleeing. He is scheduled to appear in court in the next few weeks.
VIDEO – ‘It’s Scary’: NYC Hospital Worker Accused in Queens Stabbing Spree
The 27-year-old accused in a stabbing spree across Queens has been charged in five attacks after being caught on Wednesday.
Authorities charged Jermain Rigueur with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault, a single count of attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, the New York Postreported Thursday.
Police arrested the suspect, who works as a greeter for Brooklyn’s Woodhull Hospital, on Wednesday evening after tracking him down at his home in Springfield Gardens, according to CBS New York.
“It’s scary,” one neighbor told the outlet. “I’m so happy that they caught him”:
The first incident happened on January 8 when a grandfather was stabbed in the back while walking to a laundromat. The victim claimed the suspect smiled at him as he walked away from the scene, the elderly man told the Post.
A woman was stabbed as she walked home from work Tuesday evening and three other victims were stabbed early Wednesday.
Officials with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) alerted the public to the situation and manhunt on Wednesday morning before they found him hours later.
“On top of the five slashings, police are probing whether Rigueur is the same suspect who attacked a man on a Brooklyn subway platform Wednesday,” the Post report said.
Surveillance video shows the suspect, wearing a grey hoodie and dark colored pants, walking down a sidewalk and passing in front of a shop. Moments later, he turns around and produces what appears to be a large knife from his pocket:
The CBS report said the man has no criminal history and the hospital has placed him on administrative leave.
When speaking of one of the incidents during a news conference, an official said, “The suspect actually laughed in the victim’s face after he stabbed him,” according to Fox 5 New York.
Watch: Fired Atlanta Airport Barista Violently Attacks Managers as Travelers Watch
A former Atlanta, Georgia, airport coffee shop worker has gone viral for attacking the store’s managers with a chair after being fired.
Shacoria Elly was a barista at the Harvest & Grounds inside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when she got into an argument with a co-worker about espresso shots on January 13, according to a police report obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta.
A video captured by a witness begins with Elly screaming, “Give me my stuff!” while shoving two male store managers in an attempt to get into the employee area behind the counter.
The manager in a red polo shirt attempts to subdue her as she fights, saying, “No, you can walk away. I’ll get your fucking stuff.”
He repeatedly points to the exit and tells Elly to “get out” as she continues to push him while yelling and then turning her attention to the second manager in a green shirt.
Elly can then be seen swinging her arms at the other manager as he tries to defend himself before she screams, “Bitch!” and grabs a nearby metal chair.
Before she can do damage with the improvised weapon, the taller manager snatches it from her grasp while the shorter one blocks her punches.
The video escalates even more when Elly, again, rushes at the red-shirted man, this time only to find herself tossed onto the floor to the horror of shocked onlookers.
Gasps erupt from the crowd as Elly connects with the floor before quickly bouncing back up to her feet and continuing to fight.
The young woman again swings at both of the managers before storming out of the store as the managers say to “call the police.”
Elly’s departure lasts all of two seconds before she makes a sharp 180-degree turn, sprints back into the store, and leaps over the coffee bar to the back of the shop.
Both managers grab Elly as she flings store products and equipment around before she eventually manages to grab a black jacket and bag.
The woman slips and falls to the floor again before making her final exit as the video ends.
Police said Elly was “terminated from her position” in their report, and airport security confiscated her badge.
“Elly was no longer in the area when the officer arrived. It does not appear from the report that officials are charging her with any crime,” Fox 5 noted.
A Texas woman has been arrested and charged with allegedly murdering her 18-year-old girlfriend. According to a statement released Friday by the Houston Police Department, Shania Laneice Turner is believed to have been in a relationship Tierra Horn when she was reported missing Jan. 4.
Police discovered Horn’s body near a Texas bayou, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Local news outlets reported that an autopsy on Horn discovered that she from “compression” to the neck.
A 61-year-old Chicago woman is reportedly brain dead and may not live after she was beaten during a robbery on a train, prosecutors say.
The suspect in the case is an eight-time felon who is on parole for a separate robbery involving a police officer, CWB Chicago reported Wednesday.
“Judge William Fahy granted the state’s petition to detain Mijawon Johnson, 36, as a public safety threat during a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse. State officials have also moved to revoke his parole,” the outlet said.
Johnson was apparently caught on surveillance footage allegedly trying to swipe the woman’s bag as she rode the Red Line train on January 4.
He is accused of repeatedly hitting her in the head and stomach and stomping on her body before leaving the train.
After she was found unresponsive, the victim was put on a ventilator. Prosecutors say she is brain-dead and not expected to live very long.
Video footage shows crews near an ambulance outside the Red Line station where the incident occurred:
The suspect was identified, and police officers found him and took him into custody once they spotted him riding a Chicago Transit Authority bus.
He now faces charges of attempted murder along with two counts of aggravated battery in the case.
The CWB Chicago report noted that “Prosecutors also charged him with violating an order of protection for allegedly entering a 27-year-old Old Town woman’s residence on New Year’s Eve after being ordered to stay away.”
The suspect’s parole came in August after he served a portion of time for robbing a covert narcotics officer in 2021. At the time, he was on parole for aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer.
Illinois Department of Corrections records report that the suspect was given prison sentences numerous times for narcotics over the course of several years, per the CWB Chicago article.
Social media users commented on the report, one person writing, “You get what you vote for Chicago!!!”
“Shocking that an 8x felon would continue to commit crime,” another user stated.
In December, progressive Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson claimed homicides and shootings had gone down in the city and that money “for restoration and reparations” would help address the “cycle of violence” plaguing the city’s residents, according to Breitbart News.
