Watch Live: 51st Annual March for Life in Washington, DC

JOE BIDEN is known as a serial liar, a "public servant" who has somehow managed to accrue tremendous wealth, a race-baiting opportunist, Catholic-in-name-only, and a bought-and-paid-for politician in bed with criminal cartels and foreign foes.  In another era, Joe Biden would have been run out of his country much the same way Benedict Arnold was two and a half centuries ago; in an era when integrity, honor, fortitude, fidelity, and grit have been jettisoned for immorality, unscrupulousness, weakness, betrayal, and craven pliability, however, he is elevated to king sleazeball in a city drowning in sleaze. Dr. Leah Torres, an OB/GYN in Salt Lake City, Utah, said that when she performs certain abortions she cuts the vocal cord of the baby so "there's really no opportunity" for the child to scream. She also described herself as a "uterus ripper outer" because she performs hysterectomies.

Ahead of the 51st annual March for Life, leading pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America set its political priorities to “serve moms and save babies,” including boosting funding to pregnancy resource centers and pushing for legislation that helps pregnant women before and after birth.

SBA Pro-Life America hosted a virtual press conference on Thursday, pitching its focus — more than a year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade — on pro-life priorities that pertain to both mothers and their babies.

“Women should never feel the pressure to abort their child due to circumstances out of their control. There are nearly 3,000 pregnancy centers nationwide along with other life-affirming resources that stand ready to help women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy receive the critical care they deserve,” SBA-Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said before the conference.

“In this Dobbs era, the Democrats and abortion lobby have made it clear they have ditched ‘pro-choice,’ and instead have become ‘pro-abortion,’ advocating for unlimited abortion on demand,” Dannenfelser continued. “That is why it is imperative we have a National Defender of Life who exposes the Democrat’s and abortion lobby’s extreme abortion agenda and contrasts that with the compassionate needs of women and their children.”

State Affairs Communications Director, Kelsey Pritchard, laid out several legislative priorities for the organization going forward — priorities which would undoubtedly challenge the left-wing narrative that pro-lifers are only “pro-birth” and work against women’s interests

“[W]e will continue to advocate for more funding for pregnancy centers and for establishing or expanding tax credits for individuals and businesses that donate to pregnancy centers,” Pritchard said.

Democrats and pro-abortion organizations have been targeting pregnancy resource centers — which do not offer abortions and are often faith-based — as “fake clinics,” with several states attempting to crack down on them for supposed “deceptive practices.” At the same time, many Republican-led states have increased funding to these kinds of organizations, especially as lawmakers pass legislation limiting abortion.

“These centers really empower women to make a real choice. They help women by providing free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, medical exams, parenting classes, items like food, diapers, clothing, financial assistance for housing,” Pritchard noted.

SBA Pro-Life America also plans to advocate for “tax credit or deduction for unborn children, allowing moms to collect child support starting when they are pregnant,” as well as eliminating sales tax on baby items like diapers and formula.

“Secondly, we are supportive of more childcare solutions. The childcare situation in this country causes a great deal amount of stress for parents who need not only quality childcare and parent and teachers and caregivers they can trust, but affordable childcare,” Pritchard added.

“And so we support funding for childcare and expanding access to childcare with a tax credit for businesses that start daycares for employees,” she continued.

The organization additionally plans to lobby for “adoption policies in the states for establishing a package of services and support for birth moms and for establishing protections from online scams that target birth mothers and hopeful-adoptive parents.”

“Again, this year we’ll be advocating for Safe Haven Baby Box legislation that establishes another lifesaving option, and for establishing funding to promote baby boxes so people know that they exist,” Pritchard added.

The pro-woman, pro-family priorities come ahead of highly consequential Supreme Court decisions, a presidential election, and pro-abortion organizations’ attempt to execute a state-by-state takeover via abortion ballot measures.

U.S. Bishops Launch Prayer Campaign for End to Abortion in America

prayer ends abortion
AP Photo

The United States Catholic bishops launched a prayer campaign Tuesday for an end to abortion, marking the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion on demand the law of the land.

The “9 Days for Life” begins on January 16 and ends on January 22 with the observance of the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.

In the Catholic Church, a “novena” consists of prayers over nine successive days and this particular novena is meant as an opportunity for prayer for the protection of human life and reparation for the evil of abortion.

Whereas each January thousands of people gather in Washington, DC, to uphold the dignity of all human life and pray for an end to abortion, today the tone has changed, the bishops note.

Nearly fifty years after the Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide in Roe v. Wade, “the court overturned the 1973 decision by giving individual states the power to regulate abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” they observe.

The 2022 ruling “marked the beginning of a new phase in protecting human life,” the bishops’ statement reads.

As Catholics across the country gather again this year in Washington for the March for Life, “they are also invited to observe a nationwide prayer vigil January 18-19 to pray for an end to abortion and a greater respect for all human life,” it adds.

The National Prayer Vigil for Life, hosted by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Pro-Life Secretariat, will be held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, on the eve of the March for Life.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY HANDS $1.5 BILLION YEARLY TO MEXICAN ANCHOR BABY BREEDERS.

President Biden’s ‘Top Priority’ for a second term? ABORTION!

What would President Biden’s top priority be should he be awarded a second term in office? Well, according to his campaign manager, the president is “adamant” to “restore Roe.” Yup. Quentin Fulks, Biden’s principal deputy campaign manager, recently told Kristen Welker, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, that abortion would be the commander-in-chief’s “top priority” if he is returned to the White House.

Frankly, that surprises me. I would’ve thought his top priority would be to continue trying to lock up his political opponents. Or to stay up past 8 pm.

Even if you are “pro-choice,” making abortion the “top priority” is macabre at best. How about stopping the flood of illegals coming across our southern border… and the fentanyl and human trafficking that a porous border allows? After all, fentanyl alone kills 100,000+ Americans each year. How about trying to prevent or curtail foreign wars? Or attempting to reduce inflation and taxes to make life more affordable and pleasant for millions? How about addressing the unsustainable and soon-to-be devastating $34 trillion debt? Or the fact that China is bidding to take over the world?

Nope. Gotta make sure everyone has unfettered access and ability to kill their babies!

What a platform Democrats will have for 2024:

  • Make unrestricted abortion the law of the land (Make Abortion Great Again!)

  • Pack the court

  • Eliminate the Electoral College

  • Eliminate the filibuster

  • Statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico

  • Work towards the elimination of fossil fuels… and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment

  • Provide more money for teachers’ unions

  • Provide more money for mainstream media outlets

  • Progress towards making “15-minute cities” a reality across the United States

  • Significantly raise taxes on ammunition so as to make it unaffordable for all but wealthy Democrat donors… thereby rendering guns—and the First Amendment—moot.

  • Make mail-in voting a permanent fixture in every state for every election

  • Lower the voting age to 16

All of this in the name of “saving our democracy,” of course.

Pregnant Migrants Admit: We’re Crossing Border to Score Birthright Citizenship for Our Anchor Babies

Carla Morocho (L), 8 months pregnant, and her husband Christian pose near the US-Mexico border fence in Jacumba, California, on December 6, 2023. Hundreds of migrants who cross into the United States each day are being herded into open-air camps, where they have no access to food or water, with …
VALERIE MACON/AFP

Pregnant foreign nationals staked out in Mexico admit they are looking to cross the United States-Mexico border with “the goal” of securing birthright American citizenship for their anchor babies, a new report details.

The Associated Press (AP) interviewed foreign nationals living in shelters in Mexico, including a couple who are pregnant with their third child.

Their goal, the couple said, is to cross the border before they deliver their baby so that at least one of their children will have birthright citizenship as is currently allowed by the federal government.

The AP reports:

A few blocks from Mexico City’s main plaza — where Blinken will meet with López Obrador at the National Palace — migrants stayed at an improvised shelter at a church, gathering strength before continuing north. [Emphasis added]

David Peña, his two daughters and his pregnant wife, Maryeris Zerpa, hoped to reach the United States before the child is born in about a month. [Emphasis added]

“The goal is to cross over so the baby will be born there,” Peña said. But with no asylum appointment, he had no idea how the family will enter.
[Emphasis added]

The American-born children of illegal aliens, known commonly as “anchor babies,” are rewarded with birthright citizenship despite their parents having no legitimate ties to the United States, many having only recently arrived after crossing international borders.

Years later, when anchor babies become adults, they can sponsor their parents and foreign relatives for green cards — anchoring their family in the U.S. for generations to come. The prize of birthright citizenship is so coveted among foreign nationals that birth tourism has become a lucrative business.

Today there are about 5.8 million anchor babies in the United States — a population that exceeds the annual number of American births.

The U.S. Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled that the American-born children of illegal aliens must be granted birthright citizenship, and many legal scholars dispute the idea.

Many leading conservative scholars argue the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment does not provide mandatory birthright citizenship to the American-born children of illegal aliens or noncitizens, because these children are not subject to United States jurisdiction as that language was understood when the 14th Amendment was ratified.

The United States and Canada are among only a handful of developed nations, mostly in North and South America, that have a birthright citizenship policy for anyone, regardless of immigration status, born within its physical borders.

Australia, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, and Spain, among other countries, reserve birthright citizenship for children born to at least one citizen parent.

DHS Tells SCOTUS Border Patrol Forced to Bring Illegals into U.S. Under ‘Suboptimal Conditions’ Due to Texas Blockade

CRAIG BANNISTER | JANUARY 12, 2024

Pres. Biden’s DHS has filed a supplemental memorandum to its lawsuit against Texas with the Supreme Court, objecting to the state’s new barricade barring Border Patrol agents from aiding and abetting illegal aliens entering the U.S.

On Wednesday, Texas began blockading Shelby Park in Eagle Pass – a popular entry point for illegal aliens – from federal border agents, in an effort to thwart the Biden Administration’s open-borders policy that has border-crashers surging into the state.

To deal with Texas’ border crisis, the state has taken border protection into its own hands, since federal agents are being ordered to enable illegal immigration and allow a national security crisis to thrive.

In response to the Texas barricade, the Biden Administration filed a supplemental memorandum to its existing lawsuit against a new Texas law empowering state and local law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants. Texas sued the Biden Administration after federal officials began cutting the wire the state had set up to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country.

Filed late Friday morning, the memorandum complains that the Border Patrol can’t use its usual “staging area” and must now bring illegal aliens into the U.S. via “suboptimal conditions” – by walking them around the park:

“The TNG Major further informed the Border Patrol agents that TNG would not allow any transport units to pick up the subjects under the port of entry, and that the agents would have to walk the migrants to Loop 480 to transport them outside of Shelby Park for further processing. Loop 480 is a two-way industrial highway, where there is not a lot of space to safely intake migrants.”

….

“Without access to the staging area, mobile intake and loading onto transportation must occur on the shoulder along Loop 480, a busy two-lane highway most frequently used by commercial traffic traveling at a high speed. Because of the lack of physical space, there is an increased risk to both migrants and agents of traffic-related injury. Further, there are suboptimal conditions for managing any large groups of migrants in such a small space along a road.”

When it had access to Shelby Park, the Biden Administration could more easily “load migrants onto buses for transport to formal processing locations in Del Rio (Texas) and elsewhere” in the U.S., the filing says:

“Border Patrol uses the staging area to complete mobile intake of migrant biographic information and to transport groups of apprehended migrants to Border Patrol locations where they may be processed more directly.”

The attorney filing the supplemental memorandum says he was told Thursday that “Texas does not want Border Patrol to be able to arrest, process, or transport migrants out of the identified area.”:

“On January 11, 2024, I spoke with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The Regional Director of the Texas DPS advised me that it is the position of the State of Texas, through the National Guard, that it will not allow Border Patrol or DOD personnel who support Border Patrol into the approximately 2.5-mile stretch along the national border near Shelby Park in any operational capacity.

“I was further advised that Texas does not want Border Patrol to be able to arrest, process, or transport migrants out of the identified area.”

Personally, U.S. Border Patrol agents overwhelming support Texas’ effort to stop illegal immigration.

“Shout out to Governor Abbott for enhancing Border Patrol operations!” the Border Patrol Union cheered on social media. “By taking control of an area where so many illegal aliens are simply surrendering, he's freeing up BP agents to patrol areas with high numbers of illegal aliens who attempt to escape arrest. @GregAbbott_TX”

“It's amazing how upset Biden Admin officials get when BP agents are freed up to actually patrol the border instead of processing massive numbers of surrendering illegal aliens,” the Border Patrol Union noted in a separate post.

If the Supreme Court decides to hear the case, it would be the most significant states’ rights battle in recent history, Fox News Correspondent Bill Melugin wrote Friday:

“NEW: In overnight DOJ filing, Feds confirm that the TX National Guard ‘has deployed armed soldiers and vehicles to block federal gov from accessing the river’ in Eagle Pass, & TX informed them no BP agents will be allowed to enter Shelby Park ‘in any operational capacity’. This is a significant escalation by Texas after Feds fought to remove TX water barriers and razor wire, & DOJ is suing TX over its new border security law.

“This is potentially setting up to be the biggest state vs federal fight in a very long time.”

House Republicans Vote to Protect Pregnancy Centers, Support Pregnant College Students

On the eve of the 51st annual March for Life, House Republicans passed two pieces of legislation aimed at protecting pregnancy resource centers and supporting pregnant college students.

The first bill, called Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act or H.R. 6918, would block the Biden administration’s attempt to strip pro-life pregnancy centers of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) — which they have had access to for decades.

March for Life (@jeannemfl Twitter/X)

“Congress must stand up for expectant mothers and preserve their access to maternal care. The Biden Administration’s proposed rule could deny women resources like diapers and prenatal care needed for a safe and healthy pregnancy,” Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) said in a press release.

Not only will it harm pregnant women today and in the future, the proposed rule violates the law. In establishing the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, Congress explicitly created flexibility for states to address the unique needs of their populations by prohibiting bureaucrats from dictating how and where to spend program funds so long as they fulfill one of the core goals of the program. I hope that my colleagues will join me in making sure this anti-mother rule never leaves the drawing board.

Watch video here:

Reps. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), and Pro-Life Caucus Co-Chair Chris Smith (R-NJ) introduced the bill in response to the rule proposed by the Children and Families Administration.

The rule states in part:

Similarly, programs that only or primarily provide pregnancy counseling to women only after they become pregnant likely do not meet the reasonable person standard because the connection to preventing and reducing out-of-wedlock pregnancies is tenuous or non-existent, and therefore do not accomplish purpose three.

States that provide funding for these types of programs, including through entities sometimes known as crisis pregnancy centers or pregnancy resource centers, must be able to show that the expenditure actually accomplishes the TANF purpose, that prior expenditures by the state or another entity for the same or a substantially similar program or activity actually accomplished the TANF purpose, or that there is academic or other research indicating that the expenditure could reasonably be expected to accomplish the TANF purpose.

If pregnancy prevention programming is a part of an ongoing program, such as year round afterschool programming, only those costs associated with delivery of pregnancy prevention should be cost allocated and non-TANF funds used to fund other activities.

According to Fischbach’s office, TANF provides $16.5 billion in federal funding to states for direct cash assistance and non-assistance activities for needy families.

“Pregnancy centers offer a wide array of services and support for expectant mothers, fathers, and their families. Women who face an unexpected pregnancy should be able to safely go into a facility that is not going to push abortion on them and instead provide them with the education and support they need,” Fischbach said after introducing the bill.

“And yet, the Department of Health and Human Services has proposed a rule that could restrict states from using TANF funding for these important resources, and encourages funding to go to facilities that provide abortions. This is one more example of this Administration’s anti-women, pro-abortion agenda,” she added.

The second bill House Republicans passed is called H.R. 6914 or the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act. The bill, which was authored by Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA), requires colleges and universities to communicate and distribute information informing pregnant students of their rights, accommodations, and resources available to them.

Watch the video:

“Pregnant women on college campuses should never be pressured into having an abortion, they should be surrounded with support and empowered to continue their education and their pregnancy,” Hinson said after her bill passed.

“Women who choose to complete their studies while pregnant should be an inspiration to us all, and I find it sad that Democrats are so dug in on the pro-abortion agenda that they would oppose providing pregnant women on college campuses with resources. This life-affirming legislation will help save moms and babies and is a vital step toward creating a culture of life in this country,” she continued.

The bill notes that “female students enrolled at institutions of higher education and experiencing an unplanned pregnancy may face pressure that their only option is to receive an abortion or risk academic failure,” and that “[a] significant proportion of abortions in the United States are performed on women of college age who may be unaware of their rights to accommodation and prohibitions against discrimination due to pregnancy under title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 or deprived of information about abortion alternatives.”

“Additionally, women on college campuses may fear institutional reprisal, loss of athletic scholarship, and possible negative impact on academic opportunities during the pregnancy and after childbirth,” the bill text states. “An academic disparity exists because of the lack of resources, support, and notifications available for female college students who do not wish to receive an abortion or who carry their unborn babies to term.”

The bill would require colleges to provide several things, including:

  • A list of resources on campus and in the community that exist to help a pregnant student in carrying the baby to term and caring for the baby after birth.
  • Information about the accommodations available to help a pregnant student carry the baby to term and parent the baby after birth.
  • Information on how to file a complaint with the Department of Education if a student believes there was a violation by the institution of title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 on account of such student’s determination to carry a baby to term; and the institution, if a student believes the student has been discriminated against in violation of such title IX on account of the student’s determination to carry a baby to term.
  • An email to each enrolled student at the start of each period of study during an academic year; and
  • the provision of information — ‘(i) in student handbooks, if any; (ii) at each orientation for enrolled students;  ‘‘(iii) at student health or counseling centers, if any; and (iv) on the publicly available website of the institution of higher education.

“Pregnant college students should never feel like abortion is their only option. The Republican-led House took a huge step in empowering women to choose life by passing this legislation,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said of the bill. “I encourage my Senate colleagues to follow suit and work to ensure young women are aware of all the resources available to them and their babies while pursuing their education.”

H.R. 6918 passed the House by a vote of 214-208 and H.R. 6914 passed 212-207 — both along party lines. The bills will now head to the Senate for further consideration.

Ahead of highly consequential Supreme Court decisions, a presidential election, and pro-abortion organizations’ attempts to execute a state-by-state takeover via abortion ballot measures, the pro-life movement is rallying at the National Mall on Friday, proclaiming: “With every woman, for every child.”

The theme of the 51st annual March for Life is designed to emphasize the important work of 2,700-plus pregnancy resource centers across the United States, which give much needed supplies to pregnant and new mothers and often provide things like ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, and even financial assistance for housing.

“At a New Jersey pregnancy resource center dinner, two women—through tears of joy—expressed their deep and abiding gratitude for the incredible love, respect, and care that persuaded them to reverse their decision to abort their babies,” Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) will say in his speech at the event, according to his prepared remarks. “They spoke of the pressure they had felt to abort. They spoke of how desperate—even hopeless—they felt.”

“Until they met the director of the pregnancy resource center, who reached out to both of them in a gentle and nonjudgemental way. They chose life—and thanked God, the director, and the pregnancy resource center for helping them avert the loss of their babies’ lives,” the remarks continue. “Then, two teenaged girls took to the podium and spoke about their lives—school, sports, friends—and their reverence for the sanctity of all human life. Near the end of their remarks, they turned towards the director of the Center and said if you didn’t persuade our moms to let us live, ‘we’d be dead.'”

Smith pointed to the 2,700-plus pregnancy resource centers throughout the country, calling “each and every one of them an oasis of love, compassion, empathy, respect, and care for both mothers and their precious children.”

“They—like all of us in this great human rights movement—stand with every woman and for every child,” he said. “We reject the violence of abortion—dismemberment, child beheadings, and abortion pills that literally starve the baby to death.”

Democrats and pro-abortion organizations have been targeting pregnancy resource centers — which do not offer abortions and are often faith-based — as “fake clinics,” with several states attempting to crack down on them for supposedly “deceptive practices.” At the same time, many Republican-led states have increased funding to these kinds of organizations, especially as lawmakers pass legislation limiting abortion.

“The Biden Administration and some governors and lawmakers continue to smear and misrepresent the noble work of pregnancy resource centers. We can’t allow that to happen, either,” Smith said.

Smith pointed to recent polling showing that 83 percent of all Americans, including 75 percent of Democrats, actually support pregnancy resource centers, as well as two pieces of legislation passed by Republicans in the House on the eve of March for Life.

“This week under our great Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership, two new important pro-life bills authored by two courageous lawmakers—Michelle Fischbach and Ashley Hinson—passed the House,” he said.

“Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s legislation prohibits Biden’s new policy proposal that discriminates against pregnancy resource centers,” he continued. “…[And] H.R. 6914, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act authored by Congresswoman Ashley Hinson, requires colleges and universities to communicate and distribute information informing pregnant students of their rights, accommodations, and resources available to them.”

Smith ends his speech by slamming the “pro-abortion culture of denial” as a “modern-day flat-earth society” that “denies, devalues, and disrespects unborn baby girls and baby boys and trivializes the harm suffered by women.”

“The United States—and the world—must more fully recognize the breathtaking miracle of the newly created life of an unborn child and that women deserve better than abortion,” he said.
