JOE BIDEN - FOLKS, I'VE BEEN A CROOKED, BRIBES SUCKING LIAR AND PAWN OF BANKSTERS FOR 50 YEARS. NEVER WENT TO PRISON. NEVER GOING TO!

There it is.  That's the issue.  To begin, you have the corrupt family Biden.  They've been scamming us and our system well for almost fifty years.  The man is supposedly worth over 250 million dollars.  How is this possible on his salary?  It's not.  So where did his wealth come from?  Not from being a brilliant businessman. DAVID PRENTICE

Most recently and dramatically, Biden lied about his knowledge of his son's shady dealings,  lied about his own involvement in corruption and bribery, and lied about his current presidential agenda and what he wants to implement in regards to energy, fracking, court-packing, health care, education, and COVID among other issues.

Exclusive: Rep. Darrell Issa Hits Twelve Individuals Involved in ‘Laptop From Hell’ Election Interference with Document Preservation Notices

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has submitted document preservation notices to twelve individuals from the intelligence community, White House, Facebook, and Twitter — as Republicans in Congress are gearing up to take back majorities and investigate election interference with regard to the suppression of the “Laptop From Hell” series in October 2020.

Rep. Issa is demanding former DNI boss James Clapper, former CIA boss Micheal Hayden, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, former CIA head John Brennan, former top CIA aide Nick Shapiro, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Communications Director Andy Stone, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and current Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal all preserve documents relating to their involvement in suppressing the New York Post’s bombshell exposé on the Hunter Biden laptop in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election, according to letters obtained exclusively by Breitbart News.

The news comes as Breitbart News exclusively reported Wednesday that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced House Republicans had sent dozens of preservation notices across the federal government to agencies and departments throughout Biden administration, ordering them to preserve documents in anticipation of eventual subpoenas from House Republicans after the 2022 midterm elections.

The letters from Issa to the various characters begin similarly, demanding the recipient “immediately initiate document preservation for all materials relating to questions, inquiry, conversation, strategy, and response, from 2020 to current, to the media reporting of the Hunter Biden laptop and/or its contents that first appeared in the New York Post on October 14, 2020.”

The notices state the recipient should “[construe the request] as an instruction to preserve all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that is or may be potentially responsible to this congressional inquiry,” including electronic messages, text messages, or communications on encrypted software sent from official or personal devices.

Issa adds in his letters that the information will be “essential for Congress to conduct a comprehensive fact-finding investigation into the actions by technology companies, media organizations, and political allies to suppress information and prevent public awareness of matters involving the Biden Family.”

Rep. Issa told Breitbart News in a statement that he is putting those who participated in the effort to suppress the laptop from hell “on notice” and that he will be taking up the role of a watchdog when Republicans take a majority in the House in November.

“Big Tech, the mainstream media and the Democrats’ deep state intelligence community want to either rewrite the history of their collusion – or erase it entirely. We’re not going to let them do that,” Issa said in a statement to Breitbart News.

“These letters are putting everyone on notice: real accountability is going to happen. And we won’t rest until the full truth is known.”

The letters come as Republicans anticipate taking back power in Congress, and in the wake of the New York Times becoming just the latest legacy outlet to admit that the Laptop and reporting on its contents were authentic and accurate — despite broad, unsubstantiated, and false claims at the time that the report was “Russian disinformation.”

When the original Post stories were reported in October 2020, the security state, the media, Big Tech, and the Democratic Party worked in machine-like coordination to suppress the information.

Hunter Biden

Big Tech immediately shut down the ability to share the Post link to the story and suspended accounts attempting to do so — claiming to be curbing “misinformation.”

Five days after the first story was published, Politico obtained and reported on a letter signed by “more than 50 former senior intelligence officials” claiming the Post’s reporting “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” despite zero evidence for the claim, which, evidently, was false.

Now-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki immediately amplified the narrative set by the former spies, tweeting out the Politico story that same day.

Then, when former-President Trump confronted then-candidate Joe Biden about the contents of the report days later at the presidential debate, Biden claimed, “there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant. … Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”

Following the election in November of 2020, McLaughlin & Associates released a poll showing that 36% of Biden voters were not aware of the Laptop exposé and that “13% of those said they would not have voted for Biden had they known.”

“Such a shift away from Biden would have meant President Trump would have won the election with 289 electoral votes,” the pollsters concluded.

Two-Thirds of Voters Say Hunter Biden’s Laptop Scandal Is Important News

 By Craig Bannister | March 24, 2022 | 2:55pm EDT

The closer U.S. voters follow the news of First Son Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal, the more likely they are to believe it’s an important story that President Joe Biden knew about and may have profited from – and that it would’ve costed him the 2020 election if media had covered it fully, a new Rasmussen survey reveals.

According to the survey of 1,000 U.S. likely voters, conducted March 21-22, two-thirds (66%) called the story either very important (48%) or somewhat important (18%) – in light of the The New Times’ verification of the authenticity of the Biden laptop – when asked the following question:

“The New York Times has recently admitted that emails about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in foreign countries found on a laptop computer the president’s son abandoned in a Delaware computer repair shop were authentic. How important is the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop?”

The closer voters follow the Hunter Biden news, the more likely they are to consider the Biden laptop story at least somewhat important, with the percentage rising steadily from just 26% of those who follow the news “not at all” to 86% of those who follow it “very closely.” Fully, 82% of those who follow very closely rate the story a “very important” one.

Likewise, the closer voters follow the Hunter Biden news, the more prone they are to believe it’s likely that President Joe Biden “was consulted about and perhaps profited from his son Hunter's overseas business deals including at least one involving a company in mainland China.”

Again, while two-thirds (65%) of voters say it’s at least somewhat likely Joe Biden had been consulted and may have profited, that percentage rises from 32% of the least informed voters to 85% of those who have followed Hunter Biden news most closely. Among those who’ve followed very closely, 81% say it’s “very likely” that Joe Biden was consulted and may have profited from the deals.

Media bias-by-omission may have swung the 2020 presidential election in Joe Biden’s favor, the survey results suggest, based on the following question:

“If the media had fully reported the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election, how likely is it that Joe Biden would have been elected president?”

Among those who most closely track the Hunter Biden news, two-thirds (65%) say it’s either “not very likely” (23%) or “not at all likely” (42%) Biden would’ve won, if media had fully reported the scandal. Just 34% of voters who follow the news either “not very closely” or “not at all” think Biden would’ve lost.

About half (48%) of the 1,000 voters polled say it’s unlikely Biden would’ve won, while 45% think it’s at least somewhat likely he would’ve come out on top, even if the media had covered the news properly

Schweizer: Hunter Biden Laptop Story ‘Goes Straight to the President’

1:58

This week on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures, Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer, author of Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Winweighed in on The New York Times admitting that Hunter Biden’s laptop was authentic.

According to Schweizer, the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop show his father, President Joe Biden, “was the beneficiary” of funds from influential people in Ukraine, China and Russia.

“There’s a couple of things that people have to keep in mind,” Schweizer outlined. “The first is if you look at the three big flashpoints in American foreign policy today — Ukraine, Russia and China — the Biden family has received funds, millions of dollars — in some cases tens of millions of dollars — from powerful individuals connected to the government in each of those countries. That’s the first factor.”

He continued, “The second factor is this is not just a Hunter Biden story. The New York Times tries to paint it that way. The headline is even ‘Hunter Biden pays his back taxes, but broad investigation continues.’ But you’re right. They admit that the laptop is real, and what the laptop reveals, Maria, is that Hunter Biden received these funds, but the president of the United States, Joe Biden, was a recipient and a beneficiary of those funds. Hunter Biden and Joe Biden had intermingled finances; Hunter Biden was paying monthly bills, he was paying for repairs on his home. So, this is a story that goes straight to the president, and each of these countries, particularly China, has a policy of using commercial ties, financial ties, as leverage over foreign elites. And they clearly have that in this case with Joe Biden.”

Years Late and Millions Short on Hunter Biden

Michael Isikoff, once the top investigative reporter for Newsweek, tweeted something unintentionally humorous about a New York Times story.

"In the category of — didn't see this coming," he wrote, "The @nytimes confirms the authenticity of Hunter Biden emails derived from his laptop that had been previously dismissed as Russian disinformation."

The obvious joke about "didn't see this coming" is that Hunter Biden's laptop is one of those scandals that they would prefer to squash until about 2028. In October 2020, Twitter and Facebook heavily censored New York Post stories on Biden's laptop with the excuse that "security officials" (guess which party) cried, "Russian plot."

As columnist Tim Carney notes, it's late for griping about Big Tech censorship back then, but it still underlines the question, "Just what are the tech platforms and the major media colluding to lie about right now? What are our gatekeepers covering up today?"

Let's add to that: Why is a news story "illegitimate" until "prestige media" outlets arrive on the scene years after the original conservative scoops? The Times story was buried on page A-20 of the print edition on St. Patrick's Day.

In the second half of paragraph 23, the trio of Katie Benner, Kenneth Vogel, and Michael Schmidt announced the Times obtained the emails "from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop that was left abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop." Appears?

The Hunter Biden story was blandly blurbed on the bottom of the front page as "Biden's Son Pays a Tax Bill." It sounded as harmless as a kiddie book like "Curious George Saves His Pennies." The TV networks yawned and reported nothing.

The headline inside also said "Biden's Son Paid Off Tax Bill, but Still Faces Inquiry by Grand Jury." The Times couldn't even note in the blurb or headline that the tax payoff was said to be more than $1 million. We're told that paying off your (huge) tax liability is one way to make it harder for prosecutors to win a criminal conviction for tax avoidance.

Biden is also being investigated for failing to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) in all of his international exploitation of Vice President Daddy. The Times reported that the laptop emails show Hunter was sensitive to avoiding any FARA problems.

In his dealings with the Ukrainian oil and gas firm Burisma, Biden recommended enlisting the law firm where he worked at the time, Boies Schiller Flexner, to "devise a media plan and arrange for legal protections and mitigate U.S. domestic negative press regarding the current leadership if need be."

One wonders if they really needed much help in "mitigating negative press" with the New York Times and the rest. Maybe they meant conservative outlets like Fox and the New York Post.

At the end of the story, the Times reported on prosecutors meeting with a "former employee of Mr. Biden's, Lunden Alexis Roberts," asking "which corporate entity" Hunter used to pay her for...nine months. This is obfuscating the woman who the racier New York Post described as Hunter's "baby mama," the "stripper." Roberts, who once danced at the Mpire Gentleman's Club in Washington, D.C., has a 3-year-old daughter fathered by Hunter named Navy Roberts. The little girl was unsurprisingly left out of the grandchild stockings on display at the White House last Christmas.

This is where you laugh at reporters who boast that "our only bias is in favor of a good story." Juicy stories dry up and waste away all the time when they're about Democrats.

Issa: Congress Must Probe Big Tech, Media Collusion in Shutting Down Hunter Biden Story Before Election

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) called for a Congressional probe into big tech and corporate media’s collusion concerning the blackout of reports on Hunter Biden’s laptop weeks before the 2020 presidential election.

“Tonight, I’m calling for a Congressional investigation into how big tech, mainstream media, and the Democrat industrial complex colluded to suppress the Hunter Biden scandals — and during the last days of the 2020 election,” Rep. Issa tweeted.

The New York Post first reported on Hunter Biden’s laptop in October 2020, just weeks before the election. The laptop revealed Hunter Biden’s involvement in pursuing lucrative overseas business deals.

According to the Post:

The laptop’s hard drive contained a trove of emails, text messages, photos and financial documents between Hunter Biden, his family and business associates — detailing how the president’s son used his political leverage in his overseas business dealings.

Despite the massive story involving President Joe Biden’s son, the corporate media stayed silent and big tech engaged in a massive censorship campaign to prevent the reports from spreading.

Corporate media attempted to link the story to Russian intelligence, and some organizations flat out ignored the story. NPR notoriously said, “We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.”

Twitter even went so far as to shut down the New York Post’account when the Post released the report.

More than one year into Joe Biden’s presidency, corporate media now admits the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop. A New York Times story released Wednesday about the ongoing federal investigation into Hunter Biden said, “The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”

Issa’s call for a congressional investigation into big tech and corporate media’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story comes just days after Issa announced Congressional Republicans are “preparing” for a legion of “watchdogs” to “hold this President accountable in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

“You’ve got to believe that Congress’s other duties pale in comparison to being a watchdog,” Issa told Breitbart News.

REPORT: DOJ to Propose Rolling Back Big Tech’s Legal Immunity

The Department of Justice is preparing proposals to roll back the legal immunities enjoyed by Big Tech companies under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA), in measures that will be announced as early as Wednesday, sources told the Wall Street Journal.

Via the WSJ:

The Justice Department is set to propose a rollback of legal protections that online platforms have enjoyed for more than two decades, in an effort to make tech companies more responsible in how they police their content, according to a Trump administration official.

Section 230 gives Big Tech companies immunity from lawsuits arising from user-generated content. If a person is defamed on Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or other big tech platforms like Reddit, those platforms are not legally liable for the content like a traditional publisher might be. This allows social media platforms to host billions of posts from users without a potentially crippling legal risk.

As Big Tech platforms have grown increasingly interested in censoring content posted by their users, however, many lawmakers have argued that they are behaving like traditional publishers, censoring and editing and approving their users’ posts. As such, a growing number of lawmakers have argued that the legal immunities of Section 230 should be contingent on platforms maintaining a hands-off approach to the speech of their users.

Another problematic element of Section 230 is subsection c-2, which grants tech companies immunity from lawsuits arising from their censorship of “objectionable” content. This immunity gives them broad leeway to censor users, leaving no legal recourse for those who are censored — even if their social media accounts are critical to their livelihood or career.

However, according to the Wall Street Journal, the Justice Department’s proposals go beyond merely addressing the question of censorship:

The department’s proposal, for instance, would remove legal protections when platforms facilitate or solicit third-party content or activity that violates federal criminal law, such as online scams and trafficking in illicit drugs.  The department also wouldn’t confer immunity to platforms in instances involving online child exploitation and sexual abuse, terrorism or cyberstalking.  Those carve-outs are needed to curtail immunity for internet companies to allow victims to seek redress, the official said.

The Justice Department also will seek to make clear that tech platforms don’t have immunity in civil-enforcement actions brought by the federal government, and can’t use immunity as a defense against antitrust claims that they removed content for anticompetitive reasons.

According to the report, it also appears that the Justice Department won’t try to strip tech companies of their immunity for censoring “objectionable” content, instead aim to spur Big Tech to be “fairer and more consistent in their decisions to take down content they find objectionable.”

Mark Zuckerberg: Facebook’s Goal Is to Register 4 Million (ILLEGAL) Voters

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg penned an op-ed for USA Today this week in which he announced this his company is implementing strategies that will educate Americans on the importance of voting this November. The company’s goal is to register four million new voters for the 2020 election. Zuckerberg also stated that Facebook may censor posts from politicians that violate community guidelines.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg penned an op-ed in USA Today that was published this week in which he explained the various ways in which Facebook plans to “strengthen democracy” ahead of the November elections.

Zuckerberg specifically noted that Facebook will encourage users to register to vote. The company has set a goal of 4 million new voters registered for the 2020 election. Various election-focused resources will be available to users at the top of the Facebook News Feed until voting occurs in November.

To achieve this, we’re creating a new Voting Information Center with authoritative information, including how and when to vote, as well as details about voter registration, voting by mail and information about early voting. We’ll also include posts from state election officials and verified local election authorities. We’ll show this center at the top of the Facebook News Feed and on Instagram to make sure everyone gets a chance to see it.

Zuckerberg wrote that Facebook will begin to hold politicians accountable for certain content that they share on the platform. Zuckerberg suggested that he is sympathetic to requests to censor politicians that violate community guidelines.

Everyone wants to see politicians held accountable for what they say — and I know many people want us to moderate and remove more of their content. We have rules against speech that will cause imminent physical harm or suppress voting, and no one is exempt from them. But accountability only works if we can see what those seeking our votes are saying, even if we viscerally dislike what they say.

Zuckerberg also noted that Facebook will introduce a feature that will allow users to block political advertisements from their feed.

By giving people a voice, registering and turning out voters, and preventing interference, I believe Facebook is supporting and strengthening our democracy in 2020 and beyond. And for those of you who’ve already made up your minds and just want the election to be over, we hear you — so we’re also introducing the ability to turn off seeing political ads. We’ll still remind you to vote.

Hunter Biden’s ‘Laptop from Hell’ Repairman Says Life Upended, Bankruptcy Looms

Hunter Biden
Breitbart News

The man who used to own the Delaware computer repair shop where Hunter Biden left his notorious “laptop from hell” says bankruptcy looms, as his life has been turned upside down by private citizens, tech giants, and federal agencies since the contents of the laptop became public.

John Paul Mac Isaac, 45, tells the New York Post that he received a slew of death threats after the bombshell revelations on Biden’s laptop became public and noted a Wilmington state trooper had to maintain a constant presence outside of his shop in Trolley Square.

He added:

There were multiple situations where people came in and you could tell they were not there to have a computer fixed. And if there were not other people in the shop, I don’t know what would have happened. I was having vegetables, eggs, dog s–t thrown at the shop every morning.

Mac Isaac previously told Breitbart News that Hunter Biden dropped the computer off at his shop on April 12, 2019, to conduct a “data recovery.” He says he called Biden the next day to inform him the recovery was completed, but Hunter never picked it up.

“I became concerned over some of the content I was viewing,” Mac Isaac told Breitbart News. He informed the FBI of the device before bringing it to former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Eventually, the New York Post came into possession of the laptop’s contents and published a series of reports on them in October 2020, in the lead-up to the 2020 election — which was extensively covered by Breitbart news.

“The laptop reportedly contained emails detailing Hunter Biden’s businesses with Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas company, and potential business deals with a Chinese energy company,” Breitbart News reported.

Mac Issac tells the Post that the circumstances surrounding his involvement with the laptop devolved into such chaos that he had to close his shop, and noted that on November 5, 2020 — just two days after the presidential election — he took off for Lakewood, Colorado. The 45-year-old says he stayed there with his family for about a year and took classes in woodworking.

Mac Isaac tells the Post he applied for unemployment in December of 2020, though his unemployment cases were repeatedly closed and he had to use his 401k funds to cover bills. He then sent a letter to Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE), a close ally of President Joe Biden, last December.

“I would hate to think that I was singled out in a politically motivated attack. If a state agency was weaponized to punish a perceived political enemy, the country has a right to know,” he wrote to Coons, according to the Post. Following the letter, he began receiving unemployment funds, though he says it ended up being a few thousand short of what he was owed.

Making matters worse, Mac Isaac sued Twitter over the platform’s censorship of stories regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop, according to the Post. Six months after the filing, a Florida judge dismissed the case with prejudice and ordered Mac Isaac to cover Twitter’s legal fees, which he says is in the ballpark of $175,000.

“Bankruptcy looks like my only option,” he tells the Post, noting he now does odd jobs. “A buddy of mine does estate clean outs, manual labor. I helped a neighbor redo their porch and I’m trying to do more with woodworking.”

Moreover, Mac Isaac told the Post that last September, he received an IRS invoice regarding his tax return from 2016, which he took as a threat. When he showed it to an accountant pal, his friend noted that the agency does not “go back that far unless they’re looking for something,” Mac Isaac says. He swiftly paid the sum of nearly $60, the Post reports. He noted that he had seen the progressive weaponization of the IRS over the past decade and decided not to contest the agency.

Throughout 2021, Mac Isaac says Facebook censored his posts on the platform, leading to a suspension in September, before He successfully appealed the determination, the Post reports.

The former computer technician now finds himself in uncharted territory. He has written a book chronicling his life since the laptop’s revelations went public, but he has not found a publisher willing to work with him, the Post notes. Though his life has been upended, he says he would do it again.

“If I had the choice to do it again, I would absolutely do it again,” he told the Post. “I was raised since 9/11 to believe if you see something you say something.”

Exclusive — Frank Gaffney: Congress Must Investigate CCP Links to Biden Admin

Frank Gaffney
Win McNamee/Getty
3:05

Frank Gaffney, executive chairman and founder of the Center for Security Policy, questions whether the Biden administration’s “wrecking operation” against the United States may be the result of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) use of “elite capture” to “compromise” President Joe Biden and senior White House officials.

The policies of Biden’s administration undermine America’s national interests while benefiting the CCP, Gaffney said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with special guest host Matt Boyle. The White House’s conduct — including revelations made by Peter Schweizer in Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win — warrant investigation by select committees in both houses of Congress, he argued.

Gaffney remarked:

The unified field theory that I think is in order here is that we are now not simply being subjected to what I’ve long characterized on this program and elsewhere as a wrecking operation perpetrated by the Biden-Harris administration on our country, but that when you start looking at, well, just about every aspect of it, it’s not just doing damage to us. It’s benefiting the Chinese Communist Party.

The question that my unified field theory poses is: Is it possible that not only has the Biden-Harris administration been doing such things — and there many more of course, but such things just as examples — to devastate our country, to weaken it, to take it down, but that it’s actually doing it at the bidding of the people [the CCP] who have deeply compromised not only Joe Biden, but many in his senior subordinate leadership?

That’s a question that demands — it seems to me at this point — congressional investigation, media inquiries, investigation by other national security practitioners, if not by the Justice Department and the counterintelligence services, such as they are, of our intelligence community.

Boyle synthesized Gaffney’s arguments in the interview as he said, “What you’re saying is … we need a select committee from Congress to investigate the efforts of the Chinese Communist Party to compromise, not just President Biden and his family, but more broadly his administration.”

“Absolutely,” replied Gaffney, “I’m not holding my breath that Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer will do this, but it’s needed.”

Gaffney noted that the Biden administration’s restrictions on fossil fuel resource development — marketed by the White House as measures to combat “climate change” and a “climate emergency” — harm America’s national interests by artificially suppressing the global supply of oil and driving up costs for the global commodity. These ostensibly “environmental” policies, he warned, threaten the U.S. dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency.

The White House again sidestepped new reports on Thursday that information from Hunter Biden’s recovered laptop was real and not Russian disinformation.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused to address new reporting from the New York Times finally confirming the authenticity of damning information about the Biden family from the infamous laptop.

“I’d point you to the Department of Justice and Hunter Biden’s representatives,” Psaki said to a reporter when asked if she still stood by her claim that the laptop was Russian disinformation.

“I’m a spokesperson for the United States, he doesn’t work for the United States,” she concluded before moving to another question.

Psaki also refused to address President Joe Biden’s claim that the information on the laptop was a “bunch of garbage” and a “Russian plant.”

“I’d point you to the Department of Justice and also Hunter Biden’s representatives,” she replied. “He doesn’t work in the government.”

The New York Times reported Wednesday that Hunter Biden borrowed money to pay a tax bill that was over a million dollars as the Justice Department investigation into his international business deals continue.

During the 2020 presidential campaign, Psaki shared disinformation about the laptop, suggesting it was a Russian attempt to influence the election. In September, Psaki dismissed the laptop as part of “a broad range of Russian disinformation back in 2020” when asked about the laptop.

There’s A Critical Vacancy In The Oval Office

“The complacent, the self-indulgent, the soft societies are about to be swept away with the debris of history,” said President John Kennedy on April 20, 1961. “Only the strong, only the industrious, only the determined, only the courageous, only the visionary who determine the real nature of our struggle can possibly survive.”

On that fateful April day, Kennedy honored his commitment to speak to the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Many presidents would have ducked it. Three days before, with Kennedy’s authorization and the CIA’s guidance, thousands of Cuban-Americans launched a disastrous landing at what we know as the Bay of Pigs. While Kennedy spoke, the final act of this sad drama was still unfolding.

Today, can anyone imagine President Joe Biden facing a roomful of skeptical editors and owning up to his disastrous blunders in Ukraine. This is no more likely than him learning anything, as JFK did, from the mistakes he has made.

Honesty has never been part of Biden’s nature. For years, America tolerated his lies because he and they seemed inconsequential. He was just one vote out of 100 in the U.S. Senate. And as vice president, a position predecessor John Nance Garner described as “not worth a bucket of warm piss,” Biden remained more or less harmless.

America should have been more alarmed when Biden launched his presidential campaign in April 2019 with a lie, claiming that President Donald Trump’s racism motivated him to run. Biden spoke specifically of Trumps comments about a 2017 clash in Charlottesville, Virginia, and twisted them grossly out of context. We are in the battle for the soul of this nation,” said Biden, warning that if Trump were reelected, He will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation, who we are, and I cannot stand by and watch that happen.”

On the world stage, Trump had established what the character of the nation was. Not unlike President Teddy Roosevelt, Trump projected strength. He backed North Korea down, checkmated China, and froze Russia in place. For all his misgivings about Trump, leftist comedian Trevor Noah joked uneasily last week that the Saudis would never have defied Trump the way they did Biden.

Biden set himself up for the fall. On day one of his administration, he shut down the Keystone pipeline. From that day forward, his White House did all in its power to limit the domestic production of fossil fuels. Russias Vladimir Putin had to watch in wonder as the world’s one energy-independent superpower rendered itself as vulnerable to Putin’s energy whims as its weak sisters in the European Union.

Putin had to watch in wonder, too, as the world’s mightiest military focused not on improving its fighting strength, but on making life more comfortable for transgender recruits, on hectoring the existing troops with divisive critical race theory, and terminating those troops who refused to sacrifice their bodies to unproven science.

In transforming the military as he did, Biden drove away the strong, the industrious, the determined, and the courageous. If a compliant American media chose not to notice, the rest of the world did, including many of the world’s bad actors, Putin prominent among them. The consequences of this purge were obvious to all when Afghanistan fell almost as quickly as did the lost brigade at the Bay of Pigs.

In either case, the failure was due to American vacillation and confusion. The difference is that Kennedy faced up to his mistakes and learned from them. He got rid of the people who led the nation astray. Biden fired no one. He has not, will not, and cannot face up to his mistakes.

The big lie about his administration, one that the media has perpetrated, is that Biden is sufficiently competent mentally to lead a world in crisis. It was obvious to anyone looking during the 2020 campaign that he was nowhere close to being competent. The media shielded the American people from this obvious truth, and today we are paying the price for their mendacity.

Biden’s condition—and it is that, a “condition”—will only grow worse. Were there a vice-president waiting in the wings with even a hint of wisdom or intelligence, the Democrats would be preparing a graceful exit for the one man bland enough to stop Donald Trump. But in Kamala Harris, chosen only based on race and gender, they have a vice president who embarrasses even them.

Those who have chosen to remain silent include congressional Republican leaders. I get it. They are playing the long game. They think that if they remain calm and cooperative, Americans will see them as the sane party and reward them with control of both House and Senate. There would be more wisdom in that strategy if the election were to be held in April, but it is not, and November is a long eight months away. A lot of things can happen in eight months, few of them good.

Eighteen months after the Bay of Pigs, Kennedy was given another chance to show his skills as a leader. The stakes were as high as they could be. During the Cuban missile crisis, a miscalculation could have led to nuclear war. This time, Kennedy did things right. He showed enough public backbone to impress the Soviets and enough wisdom to allow a backchannel deal amenable to both parties.

“For I am convinced that we in this country and in the free world possess the necessary resource, and the skill, and the added strength that comes from a belief in the freedom of man,” said Kennedy during his speech to the newspaper editors. I think we as a people still possess that skill and strength. I am just not sure the occupants of the White House do.
