THE BIDEN KLEPTOCRACY

American people deserve to know what China was up to with Joe Biden, especially when Beijing had already shelled out millions of dollars to Biden family members — including millions in set-asides for “the big guy.” What else is on that infamous Hunter Biden laptop? The conflicted Biden Justice Department cannot be trusted to engage in any meaningful oversight on this issue. We need a special counsel now.

2019: Hunter Biden Claimed He Didn’t Receive ‘One Cent’ from Chinese Associate Despite Wire Transfers

Hunter Biden denied receiving “one cent” from his family’s deal with BHR Partners associate Jonathan Li, a video from October 2019 shows.

In the summer of 2019, Hunter Biden received two wires totaling $260,000 originating from BHR Partners associates, including Li, that listed President Joe Biden’s Delaware home as the beneficiary address for the funds, the House Oversight Committee revealed this week. The fund is bankrolled by the Bank of China.

Months after receiving the bank wires in 2019, Hunter Biden told ABC News he did not receive one penny from Li.

Watch the interview here:

“Have you received any money from that business dealing?” an ABC News reporter asked Hunter Biden.

“No, no,” he replied.

“Not one cent?” she quested.

“Not one cent,” Hunter Biden claimed.

The time frame detailed in Hunter Biden’s collapsed plea deal in July with now-special counsel David Weiss says Hunter Biden’s residence was in California when the Chinese partners sent money to an account linked to Joe Biden’s address.

Hunter Biden “remained in California and spent much of the Summer 2019 painting and developing plans for his memoir,” the plea deal states on page 9. In Hunter Biden’s memoir, Beautiful Things, the president’s son also noted that he lived in California at the time his Chinese partners wired the money to Delaware.

BHR Partners, the fund Hunter Biden cofounded via a joint venture with Devon Archer and Li, maintains investments worth billions of dollars. As Breitbart News exclusively reported in April, Kevin Morris, Hunter Biden’s lawyer and confidant, controls Hunter Biden’s stake in the entity. Archer’s wife also controls his stake in BHR Partners.

White House Spokesperson Explains Why Hunter Biden's Checks From China Were Sent to Father's House

https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/white-house-spokesperson-explains-why-hunter-bidens-checks-from-china-were-sent-to-fathers-house-5499624?

The spokesperson initially implied Hunter Biden was staying in Delaware as reporters pointed to court filings that said he was living in California.

white House spokesperson for oversight and investigations Ian Sams explained why Hunter Biden was using his father's Wilmington, Delaware, home address where payments from Chinese investment fund CEO Jonathan Li were wired.

"Imagine them arguing that, if someone stayed at their parents' house during the pandemic, listed it as their permanent address for work, and got a paycheck, the parents somehow also worked for the employer," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Mr. Sams is a special assistant to the president and senior adviser to the White House counsel's office. "It's bananas. Yet this is what extreme House Republicans have sunken to."

On Tuesday, the committee chairman revealed that the payments were sent to Joe Biden's home when he was running for president.

He had subpoenaed and obtained two bank wires in July and August of 2019, sent from Mr. Li to Mr. Biden. Upwards of $250,000 were paid to Mr. Biden by Mr. Li.

Mr. Comer issued a statement accusing President Biden of lying to the American public when he said that his family never received money from China.

"Bank records don't lie but President Joe Biden does," Mr. Comer stated on X.

Mr. Sams's statement suggests the checks were sent to Mr. Biden, who was residing at the Delaware address. However, court documents filed (pdf) by Mr. Biden's legal team for a now-defunct plea bargain show he was living in California in 2019.

The filed memo states Mr. Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company and a Chinese private equity fund from 2017 to 2019, which paid him millions in compensation. It notes that Mr. Biden moved to Los Angeles in 2018 as his drug addiction worsened, and continued to earn and spend large sums of money made through his consultancy work. It states that he got sober in May 2019, and "remained in California" that summer, spending much of his time painting and developing his memoir.

Mr. Sams responded to those arguments in a separate post, claiming it was a well-known fact that Mr. Biden used his father's address during this time.

"Hunter listing his parents’ as his only permanent address during this period of turmoil in his life has long been known," he wrote, responding to a reporter's post showing the court filing.

Joe Biden Involvement?

While running for president, Joe Biden refuted claims that he or his son made money from China.

"My son has not made money in terms of, this thing about, what are you talking about, China," he said in a debate against Donald Trump.

The president has also refuted claims this year, as investigations into his son were made public, that he knew anything about his son's business.

The New Yorker reported in 2019 that Mr. Biden introduced Mr. Li to his father when the vice president took a trip to China in 2013. Mr. Li had formed the Chinese investment fund BHR after signing a deal with Rosemont Seneca, the consulting firm Mr. Biden worked for.

The New York Post had also found that soon after Vice President Biden left his post, he had written college recommendation letters for Mr. Li's son and daughter.

Emails obtained by Fox News revealed that Mr. Li had reached out to Mr. Biden and his business partners at Rosemont Seneca asking for advice and help for his son, who was applying to Brown University, Cornell, and NYU.

Indictment

Mr. Biden has been indicted on three felony gun charges and will have to make an appearance in Delaware for his arraignment on Oct. 3.

The charges brought by special counsel David Weiss do not touch on any tax crimes.

Mr. Weiss has been leading the investigation into Mr. Biden since 2018, and Mr. Biden revealed in 2020, after his father was elected into office, that the investigation had to do with his "tax affairs."

Charges failed to materialize after five years of investigation, until this summer when two IRS whistleblowers approached the House Ways and Means Committee alleging the Department of Justice purposely hindered the investigation.

The DOJ charged Mr. Biden with two tax misdemeanors and a plea deal to divert a felony gun charge, which Republicans denounced as a slap on the wrist for failing to pay taxes on millions in income.

However, during Mr. Biden's first arraignment, the plea bargain fell apart after the judge questioned both parties about the terms and asked for additional information at a later hearing. Mr. Weiss retracted the bargain, which the government says was never formally entered into, and pulled the case.

He later charged Mr. Biden with possessing a firearm while abusing drugs and lying on his application about it.

Abbe David Lowell, Mr. Biden's attorney, says the statute preventing drug users from owning guns is unconstitutional and has already been deemed as such in other cases, and that "on the facts" he has a successful defense.

CNN’s Cooper: Why Is Hunter

Having Money Wired from

China Listing His Dad’s

Address as Beneficiary

Relevant?

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” host Anderson Cooper wondered why House Republicans think the two 2019 wire transfers from Chinese nationals to Hunter Biden that listed his father’s Delaware home as the beneficiary address that Republicans say they uncovered is “relevant evidence, when, apparently, it doesn’t show that President Biden received any money or did anything illegal?”

While speaking to Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Cooper said, “This wire transfer that Hunter Biden received, why do you think Republicans are touting it as relevant evidence, when, apparently, it doesn’t show that President Biden received any money or did anything illegal?”

Raskin responded, “Well, look, we’ve been dealing with this for the last eight months, Anderson, and there are dozens of Republicans, led really by Rep. Ken Buck, who was the Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Colorado, and he’s a member of the House Freedom Caucus, but he just keeps saying, there’s nothing there. There’s no evidence. There’s no smoking gun. So, of course, the burden is on them to show something, so they have to take these memos, that keep showing the same thing over and over again, which is that Hunter Biden was involved in these various business deals and try to pretend that that has something to do with what they call the Biden crime family, which is a locution, which attempts to link Joe Biden to Hunter’s businesses. But of course, there’s a special counsel who’s working just on Hunter Biden. He’s already indicted Hunter Biden on gun charges. And that was the guy who was the U.S. attorney for Delaware appointed by Donald Trump. … They’ve got nothing on Joe Biden. But every day, there’s another counterfeit bombshell, which the media is supposed to get interested in.”

Kevin McCarthy Pledges Subpoenas for 51 Intel Agents in Wake of Hunter Biden ‘Twitter Files’

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy said Saturday on FNC’s “One Nation” that he will bring the 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was Russia collusion to testify at a congressional hearing.

Host Brian Kilmeade asked, “We saw the revelations coming out of Twitter as Elon Musk is unmasking the corruption that existed there and the denials that they testified about. So for you personally you have another move you want to make. Not only do we want to hear from the former executives of Twitter and the other entities, but you have something else you want to say.”

McCarthy said, Yeah, I do. This is egregious what we are finding. They should not have section 230 to start out with, but we also have to go further. What did Facebook and Google do as well because they became an arm of the Democratic Party and an arm of government.”

He continued, “Those 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was all wrong — was Russia collusion — many of them have a security clearance. We are going to bring them before committee. I’m going to have them have a hearing. Why did they sign it? Why did they lie to the American public? A Clapper, a Brennan? Why did you use the reputation that America was able to give to you more information, but use it for a political purpose and lie to the American public?”

In 2018 and 2020, Breitbart Senior Contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer published Secret Empires and Profiles in Corruption. Each book hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and exposed how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden flew aboard Air Force Two in 2013 to China before Hunter’s firm inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China less than two weeks after the trip. Schweizer’s work also uncovered the Biden family’s other vast and lucrative foreign deals and cronyism. Breitbart Political Editor Emma-Jo Morris’ investigative work at the New York Post on the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” also captured international headlines when she, along with Miranda Devine, revealed that Joe Biden was intimately involved in Hunter’s businesses, appearing to even have a 10 percent stake in a company the scion formed with officials at the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party. PAM KEY

According to the article, Falun Gong and its associated media, including the Epoch Times, have engaged in "conspiracy narratives" targeting Democrats and the Chinese Communist Party and of "links" between Joe Biden and the CCP.  In fact, a great deal of evidence is emerging in the Comer investigation to show that those links are far from being conspiracy narratives.  (See also a 2020 New York Times article, which labels Falun Gong "a leading purveyor of right-wing disinformation.")

The Group the Chinese Communists Fear the Most

By Jeffrey Folks

I have rarely heard it mentioned in the mainstream media, but, according to reports, during the 1990s in communist China, thirty thousand members of Falun Gong were rounded up and executed.  The founder of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi, fled China and now lives in the U.S., while in China members of the order went underground.  According to Freedom House, "Falun Gong practitioners across China have since [July 1999] been subjected to widespread surveillance, arbitrary detention, horrific torture, and extrajudicial killing — abuses which continue today."  Nonetheless, there are still some 100 million practitioners worldwide, and the movement continues to grow.

Information concerning the repression of Falun Gong is a Chinese state secret, with severe penalties for anyone attempting to obtain data.  As the Falun Data Infocenter puts it: "The CCP has also used political and financial influence around the world to either keep journalists silent, or drive false narratives about Falun Gong."  With total control inside China and compliance by foreign journalists, the Chinese Communist Party has driven a false narrative that minimizes the number of Falun Gong practitioners and hides data on the number of those abducted, tortured, killed, and killed for their organs, thus totally obscuring the record.  At the same time, Chinese and foreign media continue to suggest that the victim is the abuser: the false idea that Falun Gong is a cult with dangerous potential.

For anyone who has studied the history of or practiced Falun Gong, the enormity of this continuing abuse and misinformation is obvious.  Falun gong is a benign practice of meditation, exercise, and moral instruction with no political ties of any sort, but it is often represented, even by well-meaning Western journalists, as a "cult" or as a right-wing anti-CCP organization, as in a recent article in the Guardian, relying heavily on statements by Media Matters.

If those journalists would do their homework, beginning with studying Falun Gong websites and  the book Zhuan Falun by Li Hongzhi, instead of relying on the well funded Chinese "zero out" campaign, they would realize that Falun Gong is an uplifting instruction based on traditional, conservative Chinese practices.

The story of the Chinese government crackdown on Falun Gong is a classic example of totalitarian intolerance of competing ideas, and it involves both propaganda and physical terror.  A careful examination of the record proves that the response of the communist Chinese regime is not very different from that of ancient regimes toward their own enslaved peoples.  Despite their vast power, totalitarian leaders are fearful and at times even paranoid, as was Stalin, and the flip-side of fear is repression.

In reality, Falun Gong is a complex spiritual practice involving qijong-like exercises, positive thinking, and moral belief based on truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance.  As a practitioner myself, I know how Falun Gong can transform an individual from illness to health, confusion to knowledge, and intolerance to open-mindedness.  It is obvious to me how a totalitarian regime would view Falun Gong as a threat, as indeed it would be to any form of deceit, corruption, or intolerance.  As Falun Gong spread in China during the 1990s, at one point with 60 to 100 million followers in China alone, the practice became a threat to a government that had once encouraged it as a healthy "money-saving" vehicle and a social safety valve for a dissatisfied citizenry.  Yet within months, beginning in July 1999, perhaps 100,000 followers were arrested and 30,000 executed.  Even now, nearly 4,000 practitioners were arrested in 2021 (latest figures).

It is critical to consider the magnitude of this repression, with between two and four million Falun Gong followers "detained" in forced labor camps between 2000 and 2008 alone.  Chinese policy toward Falun Gong is similar to the more widely publicized repression of Uyghurs, 1.5 million of whom have reportedly been detained in China, with hundreds of thousands of others subjected to forced sterilization, forced abortion, and religious suppression, and with the razing or damaging of 16,000 mosques.  Like totalitarian regimes of the past, the CCP appears willing to employ the most ruthless tactics in order to secure its hold on the country.

Though Falun Gong is not a political movement, the exponential growth of Falun Gong during the 1990s might well have pressured authorities to change, and as soon as China's leaders recognized this threat, they suppressed Falun Gong with a heavy hand.  One could hardly be truthful, compassionate, and forbearing and lend one's support to a communist regime governed by a few thousand members of the political elite intent on benefiting from their rule at the expense of the general population.  Falun Gong teaches a form of gentleness and goodness that threatens the lies and violence of any totalitarian government.

One must ask: if the Chinese communists are willing to imprison millions of ethnic and religious minorities and to murder tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, what are they capable of in the future?  How many lives are they willing to expend in a takeover of Taiwan?  And once Taiwan is taken, how many Taiwanese will they imprison and execute?  In the event of a war with Japan or with the United States, how many are they willing to see die, on both sides?  And if Chinese communism were ever to achieve world domination, what kind of future could we expect?  As Christians, probably something not unlike what the Uyghurs and Falun Gong have already experienced.

At the same time, the specter of Chinese repression should open our eyes to the remarkable value of our own system of democratic capitalism.  The CCP has diminished Falun Gong in China, but, like all religious and spiritual practices, Falun Gong has found a safe home in America, at least in principle, though the Biden administration continues to restrict religious practice, to challenge religious rights in the courts and in agency practices, and to unleash the power of agencies like the Justice Department and IRS against the open practice of religion.  Many of the same tactics adopted in communist China are accepted by progressives in our own country, including the encouragement of birth control and abortion, even late-term abortion and infanticide after birth.

For the present, there is still a difference between totalitarianism and democracy as practiced in the USA.  Now is a time when American citizens, media, government, and corporations need to see clearly that communist China is a totalitarian government and to recognize what it is capable of.  China's record toward Falun Gong, a violent repression that continues today, is one element in a string of crackdowns and arrests.  We do not need to send a balloon over China to understand the nature of their regime, but we do need to recognize the enormity of its abuses and take appropriate actions to defend ourselves.

James Comer Subpoenas 20 Wires Totaling $1.3M Received by James Biden

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 19: Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) questions witnesses during a House Oversight Committee hearing related to the Justice Department's investigation of Hunter Biden, on Capitol Hill July 19, 2023 in Washington, DC. The committee heard testimony from two whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service who …

House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed James Biden’s Lion Hall Group and JBBSR, Inc., entities on Thursday because the committee could not identify “legitimate services provided by James Biden’s companies.”

Comer’s subpoena appears to be directed at obtaining records linked to President Joe Biden’s corporation, “CelticCapri Corp,” which received nearly $10 million in 2017 without specifying revenue line items. “So that’s an LLC account. It wasn’t a shell company — that was a real LLC account with more earnings in there than what we can find. So that is an account we plan to subpoena as we follow the money,” Comer said last week.

James Biden, an often overlooked member of the Biden family, is President Joe Biden’s younger brother and Hunter Biden’s uncle. James and Hunter were business partners with CEFC China Energy Co., an organization closely aligned and linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP.)

While Hunter’s complex web of wire transfers from CEFC received much attention in recent years, Comer expanded his focus to James Biden’s entities. Those entities received at least 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 through Hunter’s entities, according to the 2020 Senate Report by Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson:

[T]here is also evidence that Hunter Biden moved large sums of money from his firm, Owasco, to James Biden’s consulting firm, the Lion Hall Group. Between Aug. 14, 2017 and Aug. 3, 2018, Owasco sent 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 to the Lion Hall Group, a consulting firm that lists James Biden and his wife, Sara Biden, on the bank account. This transaction was identified for potential criminal financial activity. These transfers began less than one week after CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to Hudson West III and Hudson West III sent its first payment of $400,000 to Owasco. Most of the payments from Owasco to the Lion Hall Group had vague notes in the memo lines, 15 of which simply indicated that they were for further credit to James Biden; however, the memo line for one of the payments read “HW3,” which indicates some of the transferred money could be from Hudson West III. When the bank contacted Sara Biden regarding the overall wire activity, she stated that the Lion Hall Group and Owasco provide international and business consulting and that the Lion Hall Group was assisting Owasco with an international client through a contract that had since terminated. Sara Biden told the bank that she would not provide any supporting documentation, and she also refused to provide additional information to more clearly explain the activity. Consequently, the bank submitted the account for closure.

Hudson West III also sent funds directly to the Lion Hall Group. According to records on file with the Committees, James B. Biden is the principal contact for the Lion Hall Group, and between January 2018 and October 2018, Hudson West III sent the Lion Hall Group outgoing wires totaling $76,746.15 with the memo, “office expense and reimbursement.”These transactions illustrate a direct financial link between Hudson West III (which was connected to CEFC, the Chinese government, and Gongwen Dong) and James Biden.

On Aug. 17, 2017, three days after the first transfer from Owasco to The Lion Hall Group, it was publicly announced that Ye’s CEFC Energy was in talks to purchase a stake in the Russian state-owned energy company Rosneft, which, as noted, later fell through.

Through the Biden family’s suspicious activity reports (SARs), the committee discovered in March that Biden associate Rob Walker received a $3 million wire transfer from CEFC. In turn, four Biden family members — Hunter, James, Hallie, and an unidentified “Biden” — received a collective $1.3 million cut from the $3 million wire transfer.

“The Bidens are the best I know at doing exactly what the chairman wants from this partnership,” Hunter told a CEFC associate in 2017.

CEFC, closely linked to the CCP and Chinese President Xi Jinping, was chaired by Ye Jianming, a Hunter associate. Ye is a key individual in the Biden family’s Chinese business. Ye paid Hunter a $1 million retainer fee for legal services in 2017. Hunter also received a large diamond from Ye in February 2017 worth an estimated $80,000. Ye “had direct abiding and deep ties to Chinese intelligence when they were arranging these ideals for the Bidens,” according to Breitbart News senior contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer.

Breitbart News reported in June the Biden family business received a total of $5.1 million through multiple accounts within days of Hunter Biden’s 2017 WhatsApp messages to a CEFC associate. In the first text, Hunter demanded to be paid with Joe Biden “sitting” next to him. “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” the screen capture shows. “Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight.”

(CEFC; AP Photo; P. Richards, J. Watson/Getty Images; Twitter)

A few days later, Hunter asked a second CEFC business associate for $10 million, noting the Biden family is best at “doing exactly what the chairman wants.”

That same year, in 2017, Hunter told whistleblower Tony Bobulinski in a text exchange that he did not want to register as a foreign agent on behalf of CEFC. Now-special counsel David Weiss told a Delaware judge in July that FARA charges against Hunter were on the table. Weiss charged Hunter in August with three gun violations.
