Three months earlier, when candidate Obama spoke in July 2008 to the open-borders group, National Council of La Raza, he stated that “together, we won’t just win an election; we will transform this nation.”
The Democrats Create an Alice in the Looking Glass World
Like Alice dropped into an illogical world, I’m looking at the past week and seeing a chaotic, topsy-turvy, irrational series of policies, events, and outcomes. There are many possible examples to choose from. I’ve chosen four: The open border, the inexplicable disparities in the handling of crimes by Democrat district attorneys, the Administration’s song and dance with Iran and UNRWA, and China, and there’s a degree of overlap in some of these.
North of the Border
Millions of people -- mostly military-age men -- from almost every country on the globe are being processed by the Borden Patrol and released with orders to show up for hearings, many not set for several years distant, during which time the Democrats will certainly seek an electoral advantage. Since districting for voting and disbursement of federal funds is based on the number of residents, regardless of their legal status, districts with lots of illegals will get a weighted advantage. Most of the asylum applications are groundless, but most likely, the Democrats will seek amnesty for these millions. President Trump had begun wall construction and set in place policies to stop this. Within 100 days of taking office, Biden took 94 executive actions which smoothed the way for the massive influx of illegal immigrants. Legalizing them will effectively create a one-party state. Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is now facing impeachment proceedings, worked to make deportation of these people nearly impossible. Elon Musk on X:
“Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas issued written guidance making it clear that: 1. Illegal presence alone is not grounds for deportation. 2. Criminal charges, convictions or gang membership alone are not enough for deportation. You basically have to be a convicted axe murderer to be deported!“
The Supreme Court has made it nearly impossible for states to act when the federal government will not stem the invasion. Jonathan Turley:
[T] his crisis is the result of decades of court rulings expanding executive powers while limiting the ability to challenge those policies. The court’s decisions narrowing standing have been deleterious, limiting those who can challenge unlawful or unconstitutional acts by the federal government.
States such as Texas are absolutely correct that this is a breach of the original understanding with the federal government. The combination of the sweeping preemption by the courts and diminishing enforcement by the agencies has left states as mere observers to their own destruction. It is like watching your house burn down as the fire department works primarily to prevent anyone else from putting it out.
The Biden fire department is claiming that, just as it has the authority to put out fires, it has the authority to let them burn .
Irrational Democrat Law Enforcement
A pack of illegal migrants attacked New York City policemen. Videos captured the assault, and several of the men were arrested. District Attorney Alvin Bragg arranged for them to be released on bail, and they were photographed laughing and flipping off photographers. Then, using false names, they persuaded a sympathetic-to-illegals charity to give them bus transportation to California, where they will receive “free health care, housing, food 
subsidies, scholarships for illegal aliens in Gavin Newsom’s $ 68-billion-in-the-red state.” Confronted by a reporter concerning the no-bail policy for illegal criminals, New York's Governor Kathy Hochul suggested they be deported, contrary to sanctuary cities in both states.
Questioned why he chose to arrest and demand $100,000 bail for Daniel Perry, who saved a subway car full of passengers from a violent man threatening them, while at the same time seeking no bail for illegals who beat up cops, Bragg said he lacked evidence to hold them, this despite all the passengers who supported Penny and thanked him, and the assault of law enforcement officers being on videotape. The message is this -- in Bragg’s NYC jurisdiction, we’re going to allow people to brutally attack you with little consequence, and you dare not defend against that.
A congressional aide engaged in anal intercourse in a Capitol hearing room, videotaped it, and made it public. The U.S. Capitol Police declined to charge him, though imprisoned Jacob Chansley and most of the other January 6 defendants engaged in no misuse of government property when they walked through rope lines in the Capitol and engaged in friendly exchanges with the Capitol Police while there. Instead of prosecuting felonies in the District of Columbia, the U.S. attorney for D.C. is still directing massive amounts of manpower to track down January 6 trespassers who reside around the country to prosecute them.
The District of Columbia is the site now of a really horrendous crime wave, including many brutal carjackings. The D.C. attorney general Brian Schwalb claims we can’t stop this by arresting the young men engaged in these crimes.
Fani Willis, who seeks to convict Donald Trump under some notion of RICO, now admits that she has a “personal relationship” with the man she hired to prosecute the case, a man with no experience in such prosecutions. Her paramour’s friends bankrolled her campaign and, in return, received lucrative contracts, and she is charged with having misused federal funds.
Iran and UNRWA
Either Biden is stupid or he thinks we are. After repeated aggression by Iranian proxies, including the killing of three U.S. servicemen and women, the Administration said it was going to take countermeasures. It announced six days before acting where it was targeting and unsurprisingly, by the time it did so, the targets certainly had moved to safety. This is in line with its policies of giving Iran a free pass.
While Robert Malley was placed under FBI investigation and was removed from office as Biden’s Iran envoy, the administration has not deviated from the never-disclosed policy he set in 2016 while he was with the non-governmental agency, the International Crisis Group -- a Memorandum of Understanding with the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Biden will not enforce sanctions against Iran, has instituted no arms embargo against Iranian drone purchases, and has not interfered while Iran builds up its nuclear arsenal. Those drones Iran purchased are apparently the very ones the Iranian proxy Houthis are firing at vessels in the Red Sea. We keep announcing that we are shooting down those drones, but it’s a costly “victory.” The drones are worth about $50 thousand each, and the cost of destroying them before they damage our ships is in the millions. Certainly, reason suggests it’s time to destroy the drone launch pads and launchers and abandon Malley’s plan.
As to UNRWA, in the face of its proven collaboration with Hamas and participation in the attacks on Israel, a significant number of countries and the European Union have announced suspension of further contributions to the organization. Biden did as well. But -- hold on a minute -- we only suspended $300,000 of our contributions. So far this year, we have contributed $121 million dollars to UNRWA, doubtless a good deal of it after October 7. Remember, Trump suspended contributions to UNRWA, and Biden reinstated them.
The Great Afghan Folly
Regarding our disastrous fast-footing out of Afghanistan, leaving a fortune in military equipment behind, a new Department of Defense IG report indicates that, in 2022 and 2023, we spent a total of $5.1 billion in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 to house, feed, transport, and resettle Afghan evacuees, and here’s the kicker: the beneficiary of all our labors, lost troops, and fortune expended in Afghanistan will be – guess who -- China.

I wish, like Alice, we could all realize this was some kind of weird dream, but I know it isn’t.
Open Borders are Biden’s Pandora’s Box
A nation’s border lies at the intersection of domestic and foreign policy. How a country manages its border, immigration, trade, and related policies informs foreign and domestic stakeholders about governance of the country. It’s a reflection of those that govern and those that elect them.
President Biden opened the border the minute he took office. This decision is a detriment to the American people. Biden’s immigration policy is a chaotic, costly, and confusing mess. He chose to allow human trafficking, criminal import of drugs and prostitution, and the entry of terrorists and Chinese citizens who are positioned to wreak havoc within the country. Joe Biden is blithely undermining the security and interests of the people he swore to protect.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas proclaimed in a congressional hearing that the border is secure. In testimony to the Homeland Security Committee, FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed the security of the country is in jeopardy saying, “the threats that come from the other side of the border are affecting every state.” To fix the problem, President Biden requires empowerment, saying, “I’ve done all I can do. Just give me the power.” The position of the federal government is as clear as Rio Grande mud.
Biden realizes his re-election is jeopardized by his immigration policy. He desperately wants Congress to pass a new law hoping it will provide political cover for his bizarre open border policy. If the law is passed Biden will tell the American people that Congress finally listened to his wise council and passed a wonderful new law empowering him to do his job. If Congress doesn’t pass an immigration law, Biden will blame Republicans for the invasion of immigrants and accuse them of playing politics forcing him to leave the border open.
The Mexican border is difficult to police, but President Trump did a good job of securing it. The same laws that render Biden powerless were in place for Trump. Biden and Democrat politicians are frantically looking for a message they can deliver that will absolve them of their inane border policy. Republicans should take a step back and watch Democrats attempt to put the lid back on the can of worms they opened.
Biden proposed a new immigration law when he took office. It includes:
- A roadmap to citizenship for undocumented individuals
- Immigrant and refugee integration and citizenship
- Protect workers from exploitation and improve the employment verification process.
- Embracing diversity
Biden proposes an open border with a shortcut to citizenship.
Senator James Lankford has the unenviable position of negotiating an immigration law with Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Democrats want to put the country on a yellow brick road to a new demographic they’ve schemed to achieve for a generation. Lankford said in an interview, “We all have an oath to the Constitution, and we have a commitment to say we're going to do whatever we can to be able to secure the border." Senator Lankford and Congress have no obligation to pass a new law. Biden, Mayorkas, and Lankford all took an oath to “defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.” The United States has an immigration law that Biden refuses to enforce. Biden has failed to uphold his oath of office.
Governor Greg Abbott of Texas is doing his best to protect his state’s border with Mexico. In January of 2023, he had a letter hand delivered to President Biden saying, “you have violated your constitutional obligation to defend the states against invasion through faithful execution of federal laws.” Last month Governor Abbott sent another letter to the President saying, “James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and the other visionaries who wrote the U.S. Constitution foresaw that States should not be left to the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to stop external threats like cartels smuggling millions of illegal immigrants across the border.” Governor Abbott has established that an invasion is underway and Biden has done nothing to stop it. Biden has had three years to do his job. He has failed.
Abbott is now taking steps for the State of Texas to do the President’s job. “I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary.” The Supreme Court has not ruled in favor of the Biden Administration or ordered Texas to remove material used to fortify its border. The Supreme Court merely vacated an appeal, sending the decision back to a lower court. Abbott’s actions will gather momentum, likely forcing the Supreme Court to decide the matter. Texas may lose in court, but its case is clear.
Twenty-five states stand with Texas. New Mexico, Arizona, and California, which also have a border with Mexico, do not. Biden’s open border is an affront to all states no matter their proximity to the border. All Americans are damaged by the invasion identified by Governor Abbott. Democrat politicians whine while requesting money, but their states and cities remain open sanctuaries to illegal entrants.
It wouldn’t be prudent for Republicans to support a Biden-Schumer immigration law. If Biden must have a new law, the House of Representatives has passed a bill which will secure the border. The Senate can approve this bill so that Biden can sign it into law. The law could be renamed The More Power to Joe Biden Act. A better solution is to let the American people decide the issue. The elections this year should be a referendum on border security. The cost of open borders to Americans is a half-trillion dollars and will only grow if Biden and Democrats remain in office. If Americans want their tax dollars spent on wasted resources and open border chaos, they should vote for Democrats. You get what you pay for.

According to a new report, Joe Scarborough, not Obama, is Biden’s real muse
Biden is, without doubt, the most disastrous president America has ever had. On his watch—and thanks to his policies—every aspect of America’s well-being is collapsing: her economy, border, national security, social cohesion, ability to stay out of WWIII… It’s all going downhill. A lot of people see Barack Obama’s “fine Italian hand” (to use an old-fashioned expression), but it now appears that someone else may be driving Biden’s policies: Joe Scarborough, a fanatic MSNBC talk show host.
According to a scoop from Axios, not only is Biden a fan of the show, but there’s an open line between the White House and Scarborough:

Of course, it’s not just Biden who tunes in to the show to gain wisdom about how to govern America. Kamala Harris is also a fan. In addition, Biden’s aides watch it, too, so that they can be up to date on the things that matter to their boss.

Axios hastens to add that other recent presidents have had their favorite outlets. Trump liked (and still likes) Fox News, while Obama went for the once-highbrow sites such as The New Yorker and The Atlantic. However, one never got the feeling that the reporters at those sites were driving policy. Trump and Obama went to those sites (a) to get a feel for how the base felt about them and (b) to get their message out to their base. Axios, though, implies that Joe Scarborough and his team are shaping American policies under Biden.
So, who is Joe Scarborough? A one-time Florida lawyer who was elected to the House in 1994 as a Republican because he’d raised his profile by fighting against a Pensacola property tax increase, he remained in Congress through the end of 2001. While there, he was a signatory on the Contract with America and received a 95% rating from the American Conservative Union. He was, during this time, a conservative’s conservative, even going so far as to vote for Bill Clinton’s impeachment.
And then something changed—and that change was a 2003 job on MSNBC. Early during his MSNBC tenure, he criticized George W. Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina and became a Democrat celebrity. By May 2007, he was the host of Morning Joe, which is Joe Biden’s favorite show. His eventual co-host was Mika Brzezinski, who’s always been a hard-left Democrat.
As is so often the case in American politics, starting with Peggy Shippen and Benedict Arnold, when Joe fell for Mika (for whom he eventually left his second wife and children), his politics shifted to align with hers. And, like many converts, Joe is now a zealot.
Joe’s MSNBC program is now the top “leans left” (or really, “collapses completely on the left”) morning cable news program. Like Jon Stewart, the left’s beloved evening clown, Joe reserves his firepower for Republicans, especially Donald Trump, whom he despises, although he will occasionally criticize Democrats. These latter moments, few and far between though they are, lead leftists to consider him to be a serious, balanced analyst.
If Joe Biden’s policies are indeed evidence of Scarborough’s influence, Morning Joe seriously needs to up his game.

In Biden’s case, age doesn’t beget wisdom; it begets idiocy
With polls showing that voters across the political spectrum are concerned about Biden’s age, his handlers are spinning that he’s wise. While there can be a correlation between age and wisdom, it’s decoupled in Biden’s case.
There are two main reasons for this:
First, Biden hasn’t learned from experience. He lacks experiential intelligence.
Second, the part of the brain most associated with wisdom is the prefrontal cortex. Biden’s brain is ravaged by dementia, something that even those who work closely with him will not deny, instead hiding behind the euphemistic “slowing down.”
Age alone does not engender wisdom. Wisdom also requires an openness to learn. Wisdom is often defined as the ability to make sound decisions and to advise others to behave in ways that are more likely to bring about desired outcomes. By that measure, Biden is not only unwise, but he also repeats so many mistakes as to indicate insanity.
A trait of wisdom is having the humility to recognize that a change of course is necessary. But Biden is stupidly stubborn, jeopardizing America just so he can spite Trump and his supporters by overturning Trump’s successful policies, especially on immigration and energy independence.

Not only is Biden lacking the soundness of mind required for wisdom, but there’s empirical evidence that his brain itself is incapable of rendering the traits associated with it. Neuropsychiatrist Dilip Jeste informs laypeople that “The prefrontal cortex, hands-down, is the most important part of the neurobiology of wisdom… It’s the region in the brain responsible for reasoning, judgment and behavior control. “
Unfortunately for Biden—and, more importantly, us—the prefrontal cortex is the area of the brain most affected by dementia. Admittedly, no MRI or other potential Biden brain-scanning results are public (assuming they exist). However, one indication of Biden’s diminished capacity is his boorish behavior, which makes it evident that his frontotemporal region, which is especially susceptible to dementia, is malfunctioning.
The part of Biden’s brain that’s supposed to regulate social behavior and control impulsive instincts is clearly dormant. His frequent bad-tempered outbursts are unbecoming even for a tin-pot dictator. Oh, I almost forgot: He’s trying to transform us into a banana republic, the regimes of which are often led by paranoid madmen, not wise men. But he’s the president of America, not the Americas.
There’s consensus that experience wrought from aging is a prerequisite for wisdom. As Will Rogers is reputed to have said, “Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.” Given his huge reservoir of bad judgment, Biden should have an ample reserve of good judgment. But he’s like a toddler, acting more like his shoe size than his age. If he weren’t so loathsome, one might even feel some compassion for him since severe dementia can impede wisdom.
Another feature of wisdom is the capacity to exercise agency. But rather than take control, Biden is dependent on a bunch of handlers manipulating his feeble mind. Attributed to Aristotle, but oft-repeated through the ages, is the observation that “nature abhors a vacuum.” Biden’s puppeteers intuitively know this and have gleefully filled his empty mind with leftist orthodoxy.
But there’s a reckoning pending, for we are not a banana republic. We are a constitutional republic that only flourishes with informed citizens and wise leaders. It’s time for Jill Biden to eschew the trappings of office. Wise-up: take hubby’s hand (he’s bipedal but has issues with locomotion) and usher him from the White House to a more suitable place—the madhouse. Biden’s age hasn’t begotten wisdom; it’s begotten idiocy.
Will 2024 Be the Most Dangerous Election of Our Lifetime?
It’s election season and the talking heads are all singing the “this will be the most important election of our lifetime” chorus -- for real this time. While this year’s election will certainly be important, I’d argue that 2008 was the most important election in our lifetime. That’s the year in which we were offered a fork in the road, and we chose the “fundamentally transform America” left turn. We’ve just been looking for the “transform it back” off-ramp ever since. However, I am willing to say that 2024 is likely to be the most dangerous election in our lifetime. The deep state has invested a lot to prevent us from “changing it back,” and appears to have no limits on what it’s willing to do to that end.
We got a glimpse of how our bureaucratic overlords view the voters in 2016 when the DoJ, FBI, and CIA worked to influence the election. When their gal failed to win, they continued their efforts to unseat our electoral choice. But all of that was just a warmup for January 6, when they took things to a whole new level.
When pipe bombs were discovered outside the Democrat and Republican headquarter buildings in Washington D.C., it triggered a nationwide investigation. Thousands of MAGA supporters were intimidated interviewed by FBI agents for the suspicious behavior of being in the same zip code as the bombs on January 6 -- oh, and attending a Trump rally.
Also on January 6th, an unarmed insurrection nearly took down our government, at the encouragement of undercover federal assets planted in the crowd (snark intended). Our federal criminal justice system has subsequently imprisoned hundreds, for little more than trespassing and taking selfies -- many at the invitation of Capitol police. Now the DoJ has announced plans to prosecute thousands more for daring to cross an unmarked line on the Capitol lawn that their taxes pay for.
After the Republicans took control of the House, the “stop MAGA” operation seems to have moved into the coverup stage. The Swamp’s desperation to keep something hidden reveals just how dangerous our own government has become.
The bomb threat that triggered the nationwide interrogation of MAGA supporters is starting to look fishier than a Wuhan wet market. The device found outside the DNC headquarters was found by a person in civilian clothes (who many believe was a Capitol police officer). He reported the device to a uniformed police officer, who showed no sign of alarm, and even allowed civilians to continue walking within feet of the bomb.
Security video of the location where the DNC bomb was found shows a hooded “person of interest” sitting on a bench while using a phone. The FBI was able to use security video to track this “person of interest” throughout the Metro subway system and back to an automobile in Virginia. Investigators also tied the hooded person to a Metro transit card and license plate owned by a retired Air Force chief master sergeant who was working as a contractor with a security clearance.
Former FBI agent and current whistleblower Kyle Seraphin led a team surveilling the contractor who owned the license plate and transit card. Yet his team was denied permission to interview the contractor, and the matter was handed over to counterintelligence investigators -- the same FBI division in which Peter Strzok (of the stop Trump “insurance policy”) had been the deputy assistant director. Seraphin has since gone public with his concerns about the investigation.
Then head of the FBI’s Washington field office, Steve D’Antuono, was not happy about Seraphin coming forward with his concerns. In his congressional testimony he said:
People like Kyle Seraphin and others that are not a case agent, have no knowledge of the case, have no knowledge of what happened in the case, he also made another accusation too that there was an individual with a Metro card. My understanding is all that was chased down.
But when asked what the FBI had discovered when it “chased down” the lead, he said he didn’t know the details -- for the most important investigation under his supervision at the time.
If the name “Steve D’Antuono” sounds familiar: he was the special agent in charge of the Governor Gretchin Whitmer kidnapping case. When it became apparent in court that the “kidnapping” was an FBI setup all along, D’Antuono was promoted and moved to the Washington Field office -- just in time for January 6th. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
We’ve recently learned that the bomb investigation is being hindered by technical problems. Even though the location of the DNC bomb was under security surveillance, D’Antuono testified that video of the bomb being placed wasn’t helpful because “the cameras weren’t the best.” Apparently identifying bombers requires a higher resolution than identifying MAGA protesters. In addition, even though the hooded person of interest is seen using a cell phone, the cellular metadata was found to be corrupted as well.
The House January 6 committee investigated the bomb incident in parallel with the FBI, but hundreds of documents and hours of taped testimony have since been destroyed -- in violation of federal records retention statutes. Yet nobody has been arrested for this felony. Documents associated with the bomb threat that were not destroyed, were encrypted and the encryption keys have since been “lost.”
Radio host and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino asserts that the Secret Service’s behavior on January 6 is highly suspicious. We’ve learned that Kamala Harris was in the DNC headquarters at the time the DNC bomb was discovered. Bongino reports that there is no way that the VP would be in a building which had not been swept for explosive devices. Yet the “best in the business” failed to spot a pipe bomb in plain view next to a park bench. Was the bomb actually there overnight, or did it “appear” after the bomb sweep?
Bongino also noted two significant things about the bomb. First, it had a one-hour timer, but had not detonated after 17 hours -- raising operability questions about the device. This is corroborated by Kyle Seraphin’s claim that FBI experts had assured him that the “bombs” would not have detonated. Second, Bongino said the bomb looked identical to training devices used at the Secret Service training academy.
If inert “bombs” were planted to cast suspicion on MAGA supporters, who would have been involved?
- Capitol police?
- FBI?
- DoJ?
- Secret Service?
If what we are observing is a massive coverup, how dangerous might our “public servants” become this year as the threat of exposure increases?
To what lengths might our law enforcement agencies go to keep whatever they’re hiding hidden? Will they step up prosecution of Republicans and hide behind a wall of “part of an ongoing investigation.” Will they fight congressional oversight, and dare it to do anything about it? Will they create another electoral “insurance policy” to help Joe win? Will they unleash the Left’s horde of radicals to intimidate voters and burn our cities -- as a distraction from their own actions? Finally, if the Secret Service is involved, how safe will our next President be if he looks for the truth?

Has there ever been a President as cold-hearted as Joe Biden?
No. There never has. No previous president in US history has been as willing to sacrifice America, American lives, and American power and standing in the world solely for political purposes. Are his traitorous actions purely political? Perhaps his motives are personal as well.

Where there’s smoke, look for fire. Biden came from humble means, never worked in the private sector, but somehow became wildly wealthy. Several of Biden’s family members essentially work in the family business of apparent influence peddling. Does Biden’s frequent refrain, “I never spoke with my son about his overseas business deals” come to mind? It makes one wonder if “never” really means “never!”. Biden has nine relatives receiving millions in foreign cash. What were they talking about when Vice President Biden and his cronies met 80 times at the White House? Veracity is everything when you solicit the public’s trust, and Biden’s persona is wrapped around his supposed trustworthiness. However, the facts here point to a person who uses hyperbole, manipulation, and outright lying to sway public opinion. ALLAN J FEIFER

Recently President Biden asked for a moment of silence for the three dead American troops killed by Iranian proxies. He mentioned no immediate action for retaliation or future acts to protect our troops. Biden has not spoken nor met with the families of these troops.
In 2021, the family of a Marine killed in Afghanistan slammed President Biden’s meeting with them as scripted. They said Biden appeared to show a "total disregard to the loss of our Marine. Biden spoke about the service of his veteran son, Beau Biden, and his death from brain cancer -- a topic Biden also brought up while both addressing the nation after the deadly Kabul suicide bombing and speaking with the new prime minister of Israel. Many parents of our dead troops sensed a disconnect with President Biden’s empathy about their grief.
President Biden's intended empathy toward the parents of the dead troops did not connect because his son Beau did not die in combat, as Joe Biden often implies. Until his battle with brain cancer, Biden’s son Beau had a career, a family, and full life. Joe Biden's unresolved and pathological grief causes him to blur his son Beau's life with our U.S. troops.
An Important and Emotion-laden Tale of Biden and Sons
As described in his 2008 memoir, Promises to Keep, Joe Biden decided to commute to D.C. and back to Delaware every day, making sure to be there when his sons woke up and went to bed. The devotion to family life helped Joe, Beau, and Hunter recover from the life-altering loss of their wife and mother and forged an unusually tight bond.
Beau, a natural leader, was elected to the Delaware Attorney General's office in 2006. He also joined the Delaware National Guard in 2003, eventually rising to the rank of major. Beau also developed into an invaluable campaign presence for Joe Biden. Shortly before being deployed to Iraq in 2008, Beau made a speech at the Democratic National Convention describing his father's impressive efforts as a single parent. Four years later, Beau delivered another speech at the Democrat convention that concluded with him citing his dad as "my hero" and calling for a vote by acclamation to renominate him for Vice President.

n 2013, Beau was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. He opted for an experimental treatment and attempted to carry on business as usual, even announcing in spring 2014 that he planned to run for Delaware governor in 2016. By early 2015, the pressure was on for Joe to announce whether he intended to run for president. Biden was already leaning toward the affirmative, but that dream turned into a nightmare as Beau's condition took a turn for the worse in April. Brief recoveries turned out to be illusions, and Beau died at Walter Reed Medical Center on May 30, 2015. Joe Biden said, “his absolute honor made him a role model for our family and was, quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known."
In his memoir, Promise Me, Dad, Biden wrote that he came to understand that, more than anything else, Beau wanted him to remain active in public service. That engagement led right back to the campaign trail with Joe's announcement that he was running for president in 2020. On the TV show Morning Joe in January 2020, Joe Biden said, "Beau should be the one running for president, not me," he told Joe Scarborough. "Every morning I get up Joe, not a joke, and I think to myself, 'Is he proud of me?'"
At the end of each speech Joe Biden almost always says, “And may God bless America and may God protect our troops.” On August 25th, 2021, after his definitive insistence about getting our troops out of Afghanistan by August 31, Joe Biden ended his short speech before turning his back on the U.S. press by saying, “And may God bless America and may God protect our diplomats.” Biden’s diplomats, U.S. citizens, and Afghan allies will certainly need God’s protection, as well as “our troops.”
Joe Biden’s Denial, Defensiveness, and Defective Empathy
Joe Biden clearly shows ambivalence and conflict about the U.S. military and the use of military power. Joe Biden had presided with Barack Obama over the premature troop reduction in Iraq before the rise of ISIS there. Joe Biden opposed the surge of U.S. troops that helped quell ISIS in Iraq. Biden opposed the raid to get Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. He said it was too dangerous for the troops.
At an unconscious level, Joe Biden has seemed never to have fully resolved his grief over the loss of his ‘good son’ Beau Biden. Beau had urged his dad Joe to run for the presidency in 2016 but Joe declined at that time. Beau had a distinguished military career but did not die in combat. Joe Biden never served in our military. I think Joe Biden links in his mind an overprotective feeling about "our troops" with his beloved dead son Beau. For Joe Biden to leave any troops in Afghanistan would be to leave his beloved son Beau (who had served in Iraq), to symbolically die there in perpetuity.
In that sense, Joe Biden repeatedly said that he will take it on his presidential soul to be the heroic president to get us out of Afghanistan. No future president, Biden said, will have that task. To even leave a residual strategic force there would be an anathema for Joe Biden -- no more symbolic Beaus will die! -- even if it actually saved America from future Al Qaeda or ISIS-K attacks. Joe's mind, heart, and soul is invested in "protecting our troops" -- symbolically, Joe Biden’s beloved trooper Beau is protected in perpetuity in unconscious godlike fashion by Joe Biden.
Joe Biden's denial over this obsession about currently protecting the troops apparently prevents him from empathizing with troops and their families who served there over the last 20 years. Biden has not even mentioned those troops and their families in his sparse public comments about his Afghanistan debacle. The chaos and pain -- Joe Biden told Stephanopoulos -- was 'priced-in' to his lonely calculations! Joe Biden says he has no regrets about his decision.
Joe Biden's “prodigal son” Hunter is referred to by Joe Biden as "The smartest man I have ever known." I think Joe Biden's over-protectiveness of Hunter reflects massive denial of the major character flaws of Hunter and Joe Biden himself. Joe Biden’s protectiveness of Hunter is really self-protection. Hunter’s addiction, alleged corruption, and sexual boundary problems -- even incest with his widowed sister-in-law -- are described by Hunter in his book. Like father, like prodigal son.
Joe Biden’s ambivalent but powerful psychological protective and loving merger with his beloved sons results in a tragic flaw and psychological blind spot in his political decision-making. Biden's unresolved grief causes him to blur his son Beau's life with our U.S. troops. Joe Biden’s rigidity, defective empathy, and signs of early cognitive decline render him unfit for decision-making regarding protecting our troops from real danger.
Republicans Demand Drafts of Joe Biden’s Speech on Firing Burisma Prosecutor
The impeachment inquiry sent a demand letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel on Wednesday requesting the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) provide all drafts of then-Vice President Joe Biden’s speech about firing Burisma Holdings’ prosecutor Viktor Shokin.
The inquiry is interested in the original drafts of the speech because Joe Biden bragged in 2018 about successfully pushing for Shokin’s removal — a condition for Ukraine to receive a critical $1 billion loan guarantee, Joe Biden explained himself.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) requested the original drafts of Joe Biden’s speech more than five months ago, but the White House refused to allow NARA to release them to Congress.
During the Obama administration, Joe Biden was the designated foreign policy point person to Ukraine. The House Oversight Committee argues Joe Biden threatened to withhold U.S. aid to Ukraine in 2015 until then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko fired Shokin, who had jurisdiction for an investigation into the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
Hunter Biden sat on the board of Buramia, earning $1 million a year until his monthly compensation was cut in half two months after his father ceased to be vice president.
“This White House has previously permitted NARA to provide Congress with presidential records related to the Trump Administration after only one month of White House review,” the inquiry wrote the White House. “We expect the White House to do the same in this instance.”
“Such a lengthy delay in processing a discrete and limited category of documents is unacceptable and appears to represent an attempt to obstruct the Committees’ legitimate investigation,” it wrote. “These dilatory tactics must cease, and the White House must permit NARA to release these documents forthwith.”
