Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly working to fix the Biden campaign strategy — nine months from election day.
Harris, whose favorability rating is worse than President Joe Biden’s, appears to be positioning herself as an alternative if he decides not to run for reelection before the Democratic National Convention (DNC). A majority of voters say there is no chance they would vote for Biden in 2024, a recent CNN poll found.
The convention is the only feasible route Harris could take to replace Biden, 81. Politico reported a three-step process:
- Biden Must Voluntarily Step Aside Before Democratic National Convention
- Delegates Nominate a New Candidate at the Convention
- Tie Lose Ends
While pundits speculate, Harris criticized the Biden campaign for often being in a “bubble.” She aims to rectify the campaign’s strategy and tactics, according to a recent CNN report. However, some Democrats fear the campaign is past the point of no return:
More than two dozen sources tell CNN that Harris has been gathering information to help her penetrate what she sometimes refers to as the “bubble” of Biden campaign thinking, telling people she’s aiming to use that intelligence to push for changes in strategy and tactics that she hopes will put the ticket in better shape to win.
Multiple leading Democrats, anxious about a campaign they fear might be stumbling past a point of no return, say their conversations with Harris have been a surprising and welcome change, after months of feeling sloughed off by the White House and Biden campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.
“The ‘bedwetting’ complaints are running thin with people,” a person who attended one of the meetings told CNN about the general state of anxiety in Democrat circles. “The West Wing and the campaign need to be better.”
Harris, known for word salads, announced a nationwide tour in December to proclaim the virtues of the abortion agenda with her first stop on January 22, the fifty-first anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Harris appears to believe abortion is an issue that will help Biden defeat former President Donald Trump.

White HouseThe tour is the latest initiative for the vice president. After assuming office, Biden gave Harris the responsibility of securing the U.S. southern border. Customs and Border Protection estimate that there have been more than 1.7 million known gotaways at the Southwest border under the Biden/Harris administration.

President Joe Biden is polling at under 50 percent against former President Donald Trump in blue New York as his likely challenger has already made it clear that he is making a “heavy play” for traditionally blue states this election cycle.
The New York survey from Siena College showed Biden leading Trump by just 12 percentage points in the Democrat-run state, leading Trump with less than a majority, 48 percent support, to the former president’s 36 percent support. Another six percent said they would not vote, six percent said they do not know or refused to answer, and four percent said they would support someone else.
Further, when independent candidates are tossed into the mix, Biden’s lead over Trump decreases to a ten-point gap, leaving him with 42 percent support to Trump’s 32 percent support. Another 13 percent go to independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., followed by six percent for Cornel West.
When asked who they prefer to be the next president — if they could have their way — Biden and Trump came out tied, with 28 percent choosing each one. Another 41 percent, however said “somebody else,” although it should be noted that independents, on this question, break for Trump over Biden, as 28 percent said they would prefer Trump compared to 16 percent who said the same of Biden.
The survey was taken February 12-14, 2024, among 806 registered New York voters. It has a +/- 4.2 percent margin of error and comes as Trump has previewed his play for Democrat strongholds in this election cycle, telling Breitbart News in December that he will work to expand the universe of battleground states, aggressively competing in blue states including New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Mexico.
“One of the other things I’m going to do — and I may be foolish in doing it — is I’m going to make a heavy play for New York, heavy play for New Jersey, heavy play for Virginia, heavy play for New Mexico, and a heavy play for a state that hasn’t been won in years, Minnesota,” Trump said, explaining that he will do rallies and speeches in those states.
“I’m going to work them,” Trump said. “That doesn’t mean I’m going to work them as hard as I work Pennsylvania, where I’m doing very well.”
“But we’re going to do these other states too, and it will be a heavy move,” Trump continued, floating the idea of renting Madison Square Garden.
“That’s the belly of the beast, right?” he asked.
This plan is likely even more tempting if surveys continue to come out, showing Biden’s weakness in blue strongholds, including the Empire State.
Members of the established media in recent weeks defended President Joe Biden’s “poor” memory by claiming the president’s health is “acute” and that any speculation to the contrary is “ageist” and a “right wing media” conspiracy theory.
The media’s defense is the latest effort to support Biden, who is trailing in national 2024 polling to former President Donald Trump.
The media apparently felt compelled to defend Biden before and after special counsel Robert Hur described the president as an “elderly man with a poor memory” in his report on Biden’s classified document scandal:
- Hur described Biden as not competent to stand trial for taking classified documents.
- Hur said Biden could not remember simple facts about his life, such as when he was vice president or when his son Beau died.
NewsBusters, an organization dedicated to “exposing and combating liberal media bias,” recently posted a video on X highlighting how media “spent years gaslighting the public about Joe Biden’s mental acuity”:
