As Obama Assault the Legals of Arizona ... 70% STILL WANT CRACKDOWN!

70% Support Crackdown On Those Who Hire Illegal Immigrants
Friday, June 04, 2010

Seventy percent (70%) of U.S. voters favor strict government sanctions on employers who hire illegal immigrants, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Only 21% oppose such sanctions.
A year ago, 68% supported tough employer sanctions. Four years ago, when the Senate debate over immigration reform was at its height, 60% supported such sanctions.
Voters also are more strongly supportive of strict government sanctions on landlords who rent or sell property to illegal immigrants. Fifty percent (50%) now favor such sanctions, up from 48% last year and 44% in 2006.
Thirty-three percent (33%) oppose cracking down on landlords who rent or sell to illegal immigrants, and 17% more are undecided.
Right now, 56% of voters think the policies of the federal government actually encourage illegal immigration.
Still, there is a big distinction in the minds of voters between dealing with illegal immigrants and overall immigration policy. Sixty percent (60%) favor a welcoming immigration policy that excludes only national security threats, criminals and those who would come here to live off our welfare system. Twenty-six percent (26%) disagree with such a policy. These sentiments have held steady over the past four years.
Yet those who support such a policy feel even more strongly that there should be strict government sanctions against both employers and landlords who deal with illegal immigrants.

Drug cartel reportedly plotted to blow up Texas dam (CLOSE THE FUCKING BORDERS)
Date: 2010-06-03, 1:37PM PDT
Reply to: see below

Mexican and U.S. authorities were "secretly scrambling" last month to thwart a Mexican drug cartel's plot to blow up a Texas dam that would have flooded an area with about 4 million inhabitants, according to the Houston Chronicle's Dane Schiller and James Pinkerton.

Law enforcement officials were reportedly tipped off to a plot when they found one of the handbills that the drug cartel Los Zetas was distributing on the Mexican side of the river, warning residents to clear out ahead of the explosion. Authorities found "small amounts of dynamite near the dam," the Chronicle said.

Los Zetas wanted to blow up the Falcon dam not to hurt civilians, but to exact revenge on a rival gang called the Gulf Cartel, which smuggles drugs in the area, local authorities said. The gang has also been implicated in armed robberies of Texan fishermen in Lake Falcon, the reservoir behind the dam.

U.S. officials said they had "serious and reliable sources" informing them of the plot, the Chronicle reported. Officers placed hidden cameras on the dam and hid in the brush to watch.

Police Capt. Francisco Garcia of Roma, Texas, told the Chronicle that the traffickers would have needed a tractor-trailer full of dynamite to pull off the explosion.

Immigration Skyrockets as Americans Lose Their Jobs

by Virgil Goode

With 10% unemployment, one would think that the government would consider lowering the number of green cards issued to foreign workers until Americans were back on their feet. Amazingly, recently released data from the Department of Homeland Security shows that we have actually increased immigration. Far from reflecting supply and demand, our legal immigration numbers continue to climb no matter the state of the national economy.
The latest figures come from fiscal year 2009. The fiscal year began on October 1, 2008, which is when our economic collapse began and continued through September of 2009. Over five million Americans lost their jobs during that period.
America issued 1,130,818 permanent green cards, 808,478 of which were given to immigrants of working age. This is an increase over 2008 and 2007. Excluding the extra green cards given after the 1986 amnesty, this was the second highest number of green cards issued since 1914. From 2000 though 2009, we issued 10,299,430—the highest decade in American history.
In addition to the green cards, the government issued 881,840 temporary work visas and gave refugee or asylum status to 96,721 aliens. The total increase to the American workforce was 1.75 million foreign workers. According to the Census Bureau, 1 out of every 6 workers is foreign born.

What are the possible justifications for this policy? Are these immigrants taking jobs Americans won’t do? With the unemployment rate at nearly 10%, no one can say this with a straight face.
Does this create diversity? The pool of legal immigrants is rather un-diverse. Less than 10% of them come from Europe.
Does more legal immigration decrease illegal immigration? If that were the case, you would have expected the illegal immigration numbers to decline as legal immigration increased. In fact, they have both skyrocketed.
Instead of talking about reducing these numbers, politicians are calling for raising the level of legal immigration. Senators Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.), Robert Menendez (D.-N.J.), and Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) recently released an outline for their ideas for “comprehensive immigration reform.” They call for adding an additional 3.4 million family visas and 550,000 work visas.
In the house, Representatives Luis Gutierrez (D.-Ill.) and Solomon Ortiz (D.-Tex.) introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity Act (H.R. 4321) which makes the same proposals for increasing family and work visas, but one ups them by adding a special new visa category of 100,000 permanent green cards a year to go specifically to Latin American countries.

There are two bills in Congress that will reduce legal immigration. Rep. Phil Gingrey’s (R.-Ga.) Nuclear Family Priority Act (H.R.878) will limit family-based immigration and reduce 111,800 green cards. Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s (R.-Va.) SAFE for America Act (H.R.2305) will eliminate the Visa Lottery category that grants 50,000 visas a year. Unfortunately, the Republican leadership is not backing these bills and they only have 30 and 57 co-sponsors, respectively.
These bills are a great start, but even if they passed we’d still issue nearly one million green cards a year. If we really want to put Americans back to work, we need a moratorium across nearly all categories of legal immigration. A moratorium will free up jobs for American citizens, reduce the stress on social services, and allow the immigrants already here to assimilate.
The only people who will lose out from a moratorium are the ethnic interests who want new constituents and the business lobbies who want cheap labor. Unfortunately, both political parties are more concerned with the well-being of these special interests than the well-being American citizens.

JUDICIAL WATCH - Rapist Had Been Deported 9 Times

Illegal Immigrant Rapist Had Been Deported 9 Times
Last Updated: Tue, 05/25/2010 - 9:24am
In what appears to be a growing national trend, an illegal immigrant with an extensive criminal record and multiple deportation orders remained in the U.S. long enough to commit yet another atrocious crime.
The tragic case in Washington State marks the latest of many examples illustrating the government’s inefficiency in keeping dangerous illegal aliens out of the United States, even when they have well-documented criminal histories and federal orders to leave the country.
In this case a Mexican national with an extensive criminal record and nine deportation orders raped a woman in Edmonds, a picturesque waterfront town famous for its views of the Olympic Mountains rising above Puget Sound. The illegal immigrant (Jose Lopez Madrigal) was first deported in California more than two decades ago and has since been convicted of a multitude of violent crimes, including armed theft, sexual assault and drug-related offenses.
The crimes were committed in different states—California and Colorado among them—and Madrigal had a staggering number of encounters with law enforcement in the last two decades, according to the local news report that broke the story of his multiple deportations. When he got arrested this last time, it took authorities longer than usual to learn his real identity because he had well over two dozen aliases.
The level of incompetence among federal immigration authorities in this case would be comical if Madrigal’s crimes weren’t so heinous. After the first deportation in 1989 for using a firearm to commit theft, Madrigal got deported several more times in the next few years. In 1999 he was deported three times in a four-month period after drug-related arrests. After a similar offense in 2000 he got deported yet again and in 2002 he got deported after pleading guilty to sexual assault in Denver. In 2003 Madrigal got deported three more times.
It would seem like a huge joke if the illegal immigrant didn’t brutally rape a woman last week. Evidently ashamed, officials at the Homeland Security agency (Immigration and Customs Enforcement—ICE) responsible for removing such thugs refuse to comment on the case. One criminal justice source quoted in the news report says Madrigal is a “poster boy” for the federal government’s ineffectiveness at keeping the most serious criminal aliens out of the United States.
It’s not like this is an isolated incident. In the last few years alone similar cases have rocked the nation. On Mothers’ Day last year a 17-year-old girl was murdered in Nevada by an admitted illegal alien gang member who had been convicted of a felony years earlier and deported.
A year earlier authorities in Arizona discovered that a serial rapist who targeted young girls was a twice deported Mexican who lived and worked in the U.S. despite his documented history of drug charges. He was caught only because the sheriff’s department in Arizona’s largest county (Maricopa) bothered to confirm his immigration status.

Did You Vote to Fund THE RECONQUISTA? You're Paying For It Anyway!

By Dave Gibson (09/17/2006)

In 2005, the Latino group known as La Raza (The Race) was given $15.2 million in U.S. federal grants. La Raza also received an additional $4 million in so-called 'earmarks' tucked into the 2005 Housing Bill, which our Congress passed and President Bush signed. Considering the racist agenda of La Raza, giving federal funds to this group is tantamount to the U.S. funding the Nazis in the 1930's. The comparison to the Nazi Party is well deserved. La Raza openly supports pushing all but Latino Americans out of a portion of the United States (ethnic cleansing – DO A SEARCH ON THE BLOG, OR LOS ANGELES TIMES ON MEXICAN GANGS MURDERING BLACKS IN LOS ANGELES TO “ETHNICALLY CLEANSE THEIR HOODS), they call for 'Reconquista' or the re-conquest of the American Southwest by Mexico (the re-occupation of the Sudetanland), and the establishment of 'Atzlan' which is the utopian all-Latino version of the American Southwestern states (Adolf Hitler planned to called his utopia Germania). Karl Rove was one of the keynote speakers at this year's annual National Council of La Raza Conference. The event was held in Los Angeles (the eventual capital of Atzlan). Other speakers included Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, and the virulent racist L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The fact that Karl Rove is the President's top political adviser and addressed the group with Bush's blessing, is a strong indicator that this nation is being subverted at the very highest levels. If La Raza was a white supremacist group with equally deep pockets, the U.S. government would place them on a terrorist watch list, infiltrate them with undercover FBI agents, and subject them to constant harassment by the Internal Revenue Service. Eventually, the group's leaders would be jailed and the group itself would be rendered irrelevant. However, because La Raza is a Latino supremacist group, the Bush administration and most of Congress offer them financial support!

One of La Raza's biggest supporters is Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV). In 2001, Reid asked the Senate Appropriations Committee for $5 million to help further the racist goals of that organization. That same year, La Raza gave Sen. Reid their Capital Award for "his commitment to advance legislation priorities of the Latino community." Reid in turn praised La Raza by saying: "La Raza is like the biblical David (MEXICAN OCCUPIERS?), fighting all these Goliaths (AMERICAN PEOPLE?)."

Taxpayer funds are also funneled to La Raza through the Department of Health and Human Services, The Environmental Protection Agency, and even NASA. Tax dollars are hidden in these government agencies, earmarked to be specifically given away to La Raza. Inside the halls of Congress, the practice is known as discretionary funding...In the real world it is known as money laundering! In 2005, $7.9 million was stolen from the American taxpayers and given out to Latino-only charter schools in the form of U.S. Department of Education grants. The following is a list of a few of those schools: -La Academia Semillas del Pueblo (Los Angeles) -Atzlan Academy (Tucson, AZ) -Mexicayotl Academy (Nogales, AZ) -The Dolores Huerta Prepatory High School (Pueblo, CO) -Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School (St. Paul, MN) These schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the reconquest of the American Southwest, ethnic cleansing and the establishment of the mythical Atzlan, and even Aztec math!...Again, all taught on your dime! According to the Capital Research Center, La Raza has assets well in excess of $50 million. This same group reports that La Raza spends about $1 million annually on lobbying and fundraising. Can you imagine a high-ranking member of the Roosevelt administration making a trip to Berlin to show support for the Nazi Party? Or perhaps the Congress appropriating money to the Ku Klux Klan? While those scenarios both sound absurd, the support that our elected officials are giving to the racist group known as La Raza is no different. One has to wonder, if the KKK offered extremely cheap labor to unscrupulous American businesses and potential votes to equally unscrupulous politicians...Would Congress fund whites-only charter schools?

MEChA-the Mexican Nazi Movement

MEChA (“Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan” or Chicano Students Movement of Aztlan) is neither a fraternity nor a “good-natured and altruistic college campus organization”. Rather, it is the Hispanic version of the Nazis, Ku Klux Klan or Islamic Jihad—take your pick or mix ‘n match. MEChA’s news organ La Voz de Aztlan (“the voice of Aztlan”) regularly and consistently prints opinions and “news” stories that vilify Israel and Jews, in general. Amongst others, one of its staff writers-Ernesto Cienfuegos-has written numerous anti-Semitic articles including but, not limited to “Jews against Islam: The War of Cartoons”, “Jewish Maquiladora Owners Scam Tijuana Workers”, “The Kosher Nostra Scam on the American Consumer”, “Zionist Plot to take over Mexican Presidency” and “Jewish Rabbi gives three infants Herpes”. WHEW! The site also blasts Los Angeles KFI talk-show host Bill Handel in its statement: “The radio show is hosted by a Jew named Bill Handel who has a history of making obscene and racist remarks against non-Jewish ethnic, racial and religious groups including Mexicans.” Another of its “news” stories includes “Anti-Mexican Jewish Bigot Identified” in which it states: “The racist Jew who filmed a video in which he humiliates a group of Mexican workers (Jornaleros) has been identified. La Voz de Aztlan has received information on the hateful Jew who produced the shameful video. This is more proof that these sinister, malevolent, malicious and nefarious people will stop at nothing.” The site also firmly aligns itself with Islam. If one is looking for good old-fashioned no-holds-barred “hate speech against Jews”, La Voz de Aztlan is the site to visit. But, the Aztlan Movement is much more than just a small and inconsequential “hate-Jew movement”—much more, indeed. On its site, La Voz announced its participation in the 2004 "Forum on Binational Thought" which was held in Mexico City. The speaker from the Aztlan Movement was named as no other than Henry Cisneros! La Voz writes: “From Aztlan, Henry Cisneros will deliver the speech "Future of the relationship between Mexican and Mexican-Americans". Cisneros was Bill Clinton's Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and is presently a John Kerry campaign aide within the Mexican-American community.” And if that doesn’t curl your hair, current California Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa are “former” MEChA members. But, one has to wonder if the “former” designation is accurate. Note: This definitely takes MEChA and the Aztlan Movement out of the “fringe” category and places it into the mainstream Hispanic Democrat camp. And it is patently chilling. Most certainly, MEChA’s Aztlan Movement does not represent the majority of Hispanics in the United States. The mere fact that lawmakers in the US are members (or claim to be “former” members) should at least give all US citizens pause—if not creating a call to action. This hate-filled organization is growing, folks—and so is its influence on other US lawmakers. Bear in mind, MEChA’s Aztlan Movement is also the organization that is working for the Reconquista (“reconquest”) of the US’ Southwestern states, which include California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. And with increasing backing from US “leaders”, including a US Senate that appears to be feckless in passing any Immigration Reform bill that has real teeth and viability, they just might affect it. However, this time the New Nazi movement won’t have a German accent. Comprende usted?

Illegal immigration into the United States is a highly profitable proposition for both employers and the U.S. government, and it also benefits Mexico, which is the largest source country of undocumented immigrants into the US.
The US and Mexican governments actively entice illegal immigrants to enter this country and to work illegally for profit-hungry U.S. employers. Poverty-stricken immigrants , who are often desperate to house and feed their families, respond to the financial enticements...and then are blamed by U.S. citizenry for illegally being in the US.
The purpose of this 4-part article is to explain why the US federal government can't afford and doesn't soon plan to to end illegal immigration.
Part 1 - United States Borders Are Barely Enforced
Ten million illegal immigrants live in the US, according to estimates by academic and government agencies, although Bear-Stearns investment firm analysts claim that the US illegal immigrant population "may be as high as 20 million people."
About 75% of undocumented immigrants arrive across the US southern border with Mexico, and hail from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia and other Central and South American countries. The bulk...about 50% of all illegals....are Mexican-born people.
Time magazine stated in 2004 that illegal immigration accelerated under the Bush Administration, with the US gaining 3 million additional illegal immigrant residents in 2004. A third of all illegal immigrants in the US live in California. Other states with large illegal populations are, in descending order, Texas, New York, Illinois, Florida and Arizona.
After more than 100 years in existence, President Bush dissolved the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)in March 2003 and absorbed it into the new Homeland Security Department, along with FEMA and dozens of other federal agencies created to help citizens and residents.
Until its dissolution, the INS had been part of the Justice Department since 1940, and before that, part of the US Labor Department. After the September 11, 2001 tragedy, the Bush Administration complained that the INS was insufficiently focused on deporting and expelling illegal immigrants, and thus asked that it be transferred to Homeland Security.
The US Border Patrol is charged with the responsibility of enforcing illegal immigration across US borders. Until 2003, the Border Patrol was part of the INS, but was also folded into Homeland Security (as a separate agency from INS).
The massive US intelligence agencies overhaul passed by Congress and signed by President Bush in January 2005 required Homeland Security to hire 10,000 more Border Patrol agents, 2,000 per year starting immediately. The Border Patrol currently employs 9,500 agents who patrol 8,000 miles of border.
But Bush Administration ignored the law mandating the hiring of new agents. Said Congressman John Culberson (R-TX) to CNN's Lou Dobbs, "Unfortunately, the White House ignored the law, and only asked us for 200 more agents. That's unacceptable." Culberson was referring to the federal budget for 2006 in which President Bush provided funds for only 210 new agents, not 2,000 additional agents.
Both houses of Congress worked together twice in 2005 to bypass the White House, and hire 1,500 new Border Patrol agents......500 shy of that required by law, but far surpassing the mere 210 planned by President Bush.
The US-Mexico border remains significantly under-patrolled. On October 7, 2005, 80 members of the House of Representatives sent a letter to the President, calling on him to enforce immigration laws, and deferring consideration of the White House's proposed guest-worker immigration program. "History has shown that enforcement provisions are ignored and underfunded..." said the Congressional letter.
Meanwhile, Congressman Culberson told CNN's Lou Dobbs on October 7, 2005, "We've got a full-scale war going on our southern border. You don't need to go to Iraq to see a war. We've got widespread lawlessness...We need boots on the ground...ASAP."
Part 2 - Widespread Poverty and Hunger in Mexico
According to the World Bank, 53% of Mexico' population of 104 million residents live in poverty, which is defined as living on less than $2 a day. Close to 24% of Mexico's population live in extreme poverty, which means they live on less than $1 a day.
The bottom 40% of Mexican households share less than 11% of the country's wealth. Millions live in extreme poverty, and children are compelled to work on the streets in order to help provide food for their families.
Unemployment in Mexico is realistically estimated near 40%, and there are no governmen
Poverty wasn't always as pervasive as it is today in Mexico. A bit of economic history is in order.....
In 1983, the devaluation of the Mexican peso triggered an explosion of US-owned factories, called maquiladoras, along the Mexican side of the US-Mexico border. Corporations closed thousands of factories within US borders, and relocated them to Mexico to take advantage of cheaper labor costs, few required benefits and legally-acceptable poorer working conditions.
Hundreds of thousands of poor Mexican workers and their families moved to northernmost Mexico to labor in the maquiladoras.
Within ten years, though, those same US corporations closed the maquiladoras, and again relocated factories, this time to Asia, which proffered even cheaper labor costs, no benefits and often abject working conditions acceptable to local governments.
Those hundreds of thousands of Mexican workers in the maquiladoras, and their families, were left with nothing. No benefits, no severance. Nothing.
To complicate economic matters more, Mexico's 1994-95 privatization of its banking and telecommunications industries thrust millions more into poverty with increased consumer prices, rising unemployment and wage and benefit cuts.
Mexico's massive privatizations in 1994-95 also created a new privileged class of home-grown millionaires and billionaires. As of 2002, Mexico ranked fourth in the world in billionaires, behind the US, Japan and Germany.
To summarize thusfar, millions of Mexican families live in soul-stripping poverty...unemployed, hungry, without healthcare...and the US border with Mexico is significantly under-enforced.
Part 3 - US Employers Routinely Hire Illegal Immigrants, With Little Penalty
In March 2005, Wal-Mart, a company with $285 billion in annual sales. was fined $11 million for having untold hundreds of illegal immigrants nationwide clean its stores.
"The federal government boasts it's the largest of its kind. But for Wal-Mart, it amounts to a rounding error---and no admittance of wrongdoing since it claims it didn't know its contractors hired the illegals" wrote the Christian Science Monitor on March 28, 2005.
"If it weren't so easy for illegals and employers to skirt worker ID verification, the settlement's requirement that Wal-Mart also improve hiring controls might have a ripple effect in corporate America. but the piddling fine will hardly deter businesses from hiring cheap labor from a pool of illegals that's surged by 23 percent since 2000....But enforcement is pathetically inadequate, especially since 9/11."
The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 provides for sanctions against businesses that hire undocumented workers, which means workers without proper identification. The legislation was enacted once Mexico-US border maquiladoras run by US corporations began closing, and those workers streamed across the border, searching for jobs of any kind.
But here's the rub. In 1999, under President Bill Clinton, the US government collected $3.69 million in fines from 890 companies for employing undocumented workers. In 2004, under President George Bush, the federal government collected $188,500 from 64 companies for such illegal employment practices. And in 2004, the Bush Administration levied NO fines for US companies employing undocumented workers.
In 21st-century America, it's an unspoken agreement between employer, the undocumented employee and the federal government: the employee provides acceptable ID that appears authentic, the employer asks no questions, and the US government looks the other way. Fake ID...Social Security cards, US permanent residency cards (i.e. "green cards"), US temporary employment authorization cards....are readily available for about $100 to $200 in every major American city, and plenty of smaller ones, too.
Wrote reporter Eduardo Porter in an April 5, 2005 New York Times article, "Currently available for about $150 on street corners in just about any immigrant neighborhood in California, a typical fake ID package includes a green card and a Social Security card. It provides cover for employers, who, if asked, can plausibly assert that they believe all their workers are legal."

Why would employers hire undocumented workers?
According to Catholic priest Dr. Daniel Groody, Associate Professor at University of Notre Dame and a director of the university's Center for Latino Studies, "If they make it across the border, most immigrants will work at low-paying jobs that no one except the most desperate wants. They will de-bone chicken in poultry plants, pick crops in fields and build houses in construction.
As one person in Arizona noted, 'It looks like entering the US through the desert as undocumented immigrants is some kind of employment screening test administered by the US government for the hospitality, construction and recreation industries.'
Willing to work at the most dangerous jobs, an immigrant a day will also die in the work place, even while for others the work place has become safer over the last decade."
And undocumented workers, grateful for any job, will work for lower wages and minimal or no benefits, therefore enabling employers to make higher business profits. Cheaper labor costs and lesser working conditions equal greater profits for business owners.
In a January 2005 World Net Daily article, a report by investment firm Bear Stearns was cited that clearly illustrates that millions of US jobs have shifted from the legal workforce "as employers have systematically replaced American workers with lower wage illegal aliens."
For illegal immigrants, it's about finding any work to feed, clothe and shelter their families. For employers, it's about profits.
But why would the US government look the other way, allowing employers to replace American workers with undocumented workers from other countries?
"...experts blame the twin pressures of ethnic advocacy and business interests" reports the Christian Science Monitor.
Translation...."ethnic advocacy" means buying favor...and votes....within the illegal immigrant community. If an immigrant doesn't vote, he/she has relatives who do. In the 21st century, Hispanics surpassed African-Americans as the largest ethnic group in the United States. Many believe that the Bush Administration's lack of immigration enforcement in 2004 was directly connected to the Republican Party's goal to court the Hispanic vote, and to entice Hispanics to join Republican ranks.
Translation..."business interests" means profits. When labor costs are lower, business profits are higher. When thousands of businesses have higher profits, then the US business community is stronger (and happier). More votes and more voter perception of success.
A major economic drawback, though, to allowing thousands...probably millions...of US businesses to pay under-market wages and benefits to undocumented workers is that it depresses wages for all workers in the US. All Americans workers, then have decreased incomes, lower benefits and higher rates of poverty and hunger.
An obvious moral drawback to allowing US businesses to pay under-market, lower than even minimum wage rates, is that it's wrong. Minimum wage and standard minimal working conditions are established to humanely provide for the safety and welfare of all workers...not just American-born workers. It's a matter of decency and human rights, rooted in the United States' Christian-Judeo heritage. It's wrong and exploitative, and it's immoral. It's an updated form of economic slavery.
Writes Dr. Groody, "Immigrants die cutting North Carolina tobacco and Nebraska beef, chopping down trees in Colorado, welding a balcony in Florida , trimming grass at a Las Vegas golf course, and falling from scaffolding in Georgia....
With an economic gun at their backs, they leave their homes because hunger and poverty pushes them across the border....Every day, immigrants dehydrate in deserts, drown in canals, freeze in mountains and suffocate in tractor trailers. As a result, the death toll has increased 1,000 percent in some places."
And there's one more reason why would the US government would look the other way, thus allowing US employers to replace American workers with undocumented workers from other countries. A huge, seemingly insurmountable reason. A $7 billion a year problem: Social Security.
Part 4 - Undocumented Workers Give $7 Billion Annually to Social Security
According to a New York Times article on April 5, 2005, "...the estimated seven million or so illegal immigrant workers in the United States are now providing the system with a subsidy of as much as $7 billion a year....Moreover, the money paid by illegal immigrants and their employers is factored into all the Social Security Administration's projections."
However, since illegal immigrant workers are here illegally, and ostensibly presented fake ID to the US employer, they will never collect Social Security benefits. "For illegal immigrants, Social Security numbers are simply a tool needed to work on this side of the border. Retirement does not enter the picture," reports the New York Times.
The Social Security Administration remains solvent in large part due to deductions taken from the paychecks of illegal immigrant workers, yet Social Security will never pay benefits to those workers. The workers pay in, but they never receive back.
Wouldn't the federal government detect fake Social Security numbers? According to that April 6, 2005 New York Times article, "Starting in the late 1980s, the social Security Administration received a flood of W-2 earnings reports with incorrect---sometimes simply fictitious---Social Security numbers. It stashed them in what it calls the 'earnings suspense file' in the hope that someday it would figure out whom they belonged to. The file has been mushrooming ever since: $189 billion worth of wages ended up recorded in the suspense file over the 1990s, two and a half times the amount of the 1980s.
In the current decade, the file is growing, on average, by more than $50 billion a year, generating $6 billion to $7 billion in Social Security tax revenue and about $1.5 billion in Medicare taxes.
...the mismatched W-2's fit like a glove on illegal immigrants' known geographic distribution and the patchwork of jobs they typically hold. An audit found that more than half of the 100 employers filing the most earnings reports with false social Security numbers from 1997 through 2001 came from just three states: California, Texas and Illinois."
As shown by this information, the federal bureaucracy clearly knows which companies employ probable illegal immigrant workers, and it even knows which workers are likely illegals.
And the government does nothing about it. Not one penalty was levied by the federal government against an employer in 2004 for hiring undocumented workers.
The equation to explain the whys of illegal immigration into the US is simple:
Add: Widespread abject poverty and starvation in Mexico after US corporations relocated their cheap-labor plants from the US-Mexico border to Asia, and after Mexican banks and telecommunications were privatized, creating dozens of instant billionaires and plunging millions into poverty.
Add: An extremely porous, under-enforced US-Mexico border.
Add: US employers anxious for more profits, and willing to exploit the poverty and fears of illegal immigrants to do so.
Add: The federal government anxious to curry favor with , and garner votes from, business owners and the Hispanic community...thus, willing to under-enforce borders and immigrations laws, and ignore illegal hiring by employers.
Add: The Social Security Administration dependent on taking in $7 billion annually of contributions from illegal immigrant workers who will never receive benefits from the system.
THE RESULT: Millions of illegal immigrants working for low wages and in poor working conditions, grateful for "scraps to fall from the US table of prosperity," per Dr. Groody.
Wealthier US businesses, and a much-richer Social Security Administration, neither which reimburse local and state authorities and taxpayers for the costs (education, health care, law enforcement and more) associated with illegal immigrants.
And a very angry US citizenry, who vilify immigrants for being here, rather than blaming the business owners who hire and exploit them, the US government which lets them enter the US and profits greatly from them, and the Mexican government which is happy to see them immigrate out of their country.
"Our nation virtually posts two sign on its southern border: 'Help Wanted: Inquire Within' and 'Do Not Trespass," says Pastor Robin Hoover of Humane Borders.
"Without the help of immigrant labor, the US economy would virtually collapse. We want and need cheap immigrant labor, but we do not want the immigrants."

A Mexican clan of document forgers operates in 33 states, including Illinois. In Chicago, their annual take is around $2.5 million, and their main collaborators are gang members. Los Angeles - In 1848 what came to be called the Gold Rush started. People came to California from all over the world to seek their fortunes. The idea of getting rich without much effort was the main reason they left their countries and headed for the promised land to seek the precious metal. And so did Pedro Castorena-Ibarra and Manuel Leija-Sánchez, albeit 138 years later. In 1987 they found their goldmine in California. At that time the United States Congress had just passed a law giving amnesty to the undocumented who were living in the country. This was when the boom in forged documents got going. Everybody wanted to get the paperwork and, whatever the cost, have the documentation to show length of stay in the country so they could work legally. Pedro and Manuel took advantage of the situation and made document forgery into a highly profitable family business. Authorities estimate that this organization generates earnings of $300 million annually. The Castorena and Leija families, according to reports by the federal government, run a criminal organization dedicated to the production and distribution of fake documents. It is a criminal network extending into 33 states across the country. Its main leaders are Pedro Castorena and Manuel Leija, both in prison, but still in control of the cartel. The organization is run from their native Mexico by their parents, Alfonso Castorena and Natividad Leija, according to a federal agent involved in the investigation, ongoing for five years, which last month led to the arrest of Pedro Castorena in Guadalajara in the Mexican state of Jalisco. In terms of financial organization and operation, the organization has been compared to the Arellano Félix cartel in drug running and the Peralta-Rodríguez brothers´ organization in the human trafficking business. Specializing in forged ID cards, mainly the residency and work permit document called "green cards," the Castorena-Leija cartel is not above activities associated with the drug trade and human trafficking "coyotes." Suad Leija, Manuel Leija´s stepdaughter, described in an interview the secrets of the organization , disclosing that it is also involved with human trafficking gangs which bring people across the United States border illegally. "They also have connections with the Monterrey gang. Pedro knew the most about those people, and after him, my stepfather," Suad commented. This organization is considered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a branch of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as one of the largest internationally, with connections in Central America and Mexico. Friends from their childhood days, Pedro and Manuel became so good at the counterfeit document business that they used other identities, with which they managed for quitea while to outwit whoever was hot on their heels. They came to the US almost 20 years ago. Los Angeles was their cradle, where they first "went into business." Later they expanded to Chicago, where Manuel Leija ran the show. Little by little, they established themselves in New York, and then in Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Albuquerque and Denver, among other cities. US Attorney Bill Leone has described this organization as a large-scale threat to national security, as it provides tools to criminals to evade justice. "These tools help criminals hide their identity and gain access to places where they should not be allowed. They facilitate other forms of identity theft," Leoni declared, revealing this organization´s operations. "They serve as a store for not just illegal immigrants but also for drug smugglers, money launderers and potential terrorists." For ICE Director of Investigations Marcy Forman, the Castorena-Leija organization, which can provide forged documents to terrorists intent on violating national security, is one of the largest and most sophisticated counterfeiter networks. Los Angeles City Prosecutor Arturo Martínez, who has prosecuted several cases of forged documents, explained that the proliferation of counterfeit documentation leads to the crime of identity theft and is a national security problem while generating multi-million dollar losses to the economy. It concerns a problem which goes beyond just getting a fake document to show proof of age for getting into a bar, Martínez explained. "It´s a highly complex problem, not just the crime of forging a document, but because other crimes are committed. There are criminals who get these documents to hide their identity, to get through airport security or to commit fraud." In the year 2004, according to the prosecutor, there were around one million victims of identity theft registered in California and ten million across the entire country. © La Opinión Counterfeiter´s stepdaughter puts family on display Suad Leija doesn´t care if she unmasks her family. This 22-year-old young woman feels that national security is more important. Her stepfather is Manuel Leija-Sánchez, identified by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as one of the ringleaders of a band of document ounterfeiters. She confirmed this. In recent months, Suad has worked as informant for the federal government. Investigators from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have been able to clear up several questions. Last month, together with Mexico´s Federal Investigations Agency (AFI, per its Spanish initials), managed to arrest Pedro Castorena in Guadalajara, one of America´s most wanted for the crime of counterfeiting documents. Pedro Castorena, aged 43 years, and Manuel Leija, aged 39, godparents of each other´s children, are both in jail. The former is in the process of extradition from Mexico; the latter is close to completing a one-year sentence. They are the ringleaders of a band of counterfeiters operating in 33 states across the country, according to Suad, whose explanation is backed up by the ICE investigation. From somewhere in the state of Georgia, Suad Leija offered a telephone interview to La Opinión. Her first words were, "My stepfather Manuel killed my real father in order to marry my mother." At that time, she said, she was a baby. They were living in Mexico City. When Manuel got her mother, they moved to Los Angeles, California in 1987. Suad was two years old. Together with Pedro Castorena, Manuel Leija and a few other relatives got started in the counterfeiting business. "My job was counting the money. I put it in envelopes, making envelopes of a thousand, two thousand, five thousand dollars." Suad remembered her work as a child, for which she was paid fifty dollars. In just a few years, the Castorenas and the Leijas managed to amass a fortune. In Mexico they have chains of motels, bars and restaurants, the result of money laundering. "When we arrived in Los Angeles, we lived in Pedro´s apartment - he was called `Perico´ [parrot] - and with his wife, Julieta León," the young woman explained. "That´s where they got started. Pedro and my stepfather sold documents and counted the money on weekends. That was my job, counting the money." In the early 90´s, the business now flourishing, Manuel took charge of the Chicago market, where they were expanding. The whole family moved together. "My stepfather took the Chicago area. My uncles, Julio and Pedro Leija, shared the other cities. In Chicago, my stepfather took in 2.5 million dollars a year," Suad commented. The young woman assured that, in spite of being in jail, Pedro Castorena and Manuel Leija have kept control of the organization. Federal agents consulted by La Opinión indicated that this organization has a few hundred people operating across the country in various cells. From Mexico, where the money is laundered in motels, bars, brothels and gyms, Suad said the business is controlled by Alfonso Castorena (in Guadalajara), Pedro´s father, and by Natividad Leija-Herrera (in Tlanepantla), Manuel´s father. A report in the Library of Congress, called Organized Crime and Terrorist Activities in Mexico, 1999-2002, points out that the founders of this organization, based in Guadalajara, are Alfonso Castorena and Juan San Germán, who have members of the Latin Kings gang as collaborators in the Little Village neighborhood in Chicago. In Las Vegas and Los Angeles, members of the 18th Street gang have also been linked to this organization. Suad fears for her life. She says she has already been threatened, so she moves from one place to another, under protection from the federal government. And for certain the Castorenas and Leijas have money and power aplenty. Authorities estimate that every year their document counterfeiting generates $300 million. "I don´t know how they figure tha amount, but my stepfather is always the first one to have the latest model car. He is quite the showoff in Mexico, although in the United States he is ever so humble, appearing to be a low-level worker so as to not call attention, but there in Mexico he´s quite the opposite," Suad said. Manuel Leija used to put on huge, rowdy parties in his parents´ home in the Jiménez Cantú section of the city of Tlanepantla in the State of Mexico. He liked drinking sprees and to have the band Los Tigres del Norte play "El Jefe de Jefes" [The Boss of Bosses] for him. With a glass of Azteca de Oro brandy in his hand, wearing a Versace shirt, fine boots and jewels on his neck, Manuel would sing noisily. He would say he was The Boss of Bosses. While Manuel lingers in jail, every third month his brothers Pedro, Julio, Elías and José Luis take turns with the business in the United States, Suad remarked. "That is, everybody gets a chance to make money. They take turns with the business, each one putting together his sales team, and then my aunts take charge of handling and managing the money." Why inform on your family? "For me, it´s like they never were. I am not of their blood. When I was little, they never treated me like I was part of the real family. Besides, it doesn´t matter to them if one of the documents they forge falls into the hands of a terrorist...All that matter to them is money." .................................................................
Illegal Aliens Turn To Identity Theft ..................... (Wait Till Victims Try To Retire......!!!)

Jan. 8, 2008

When U.S. Air Force veteran Marcos Miranda had his identity stolen, he went from being a valued customer and employee to a government statistic — one of thousands of identity theft victims caught up each year in the crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Identity theft has been a growing worry in the United States, but a rise in federal prosecutions of immigrants offers a new wrinkle on the problem. As better systems are developed for verifying employment, illegal immigrants are assuming the names and government-issued ID numbers of Americans like Miranda to thwart detection at workplaces, get driver's licenses and obtain credit.

Miranda first learned someone else was using his identity in 2000 when he was arrested on a warrant for unpaid traffic tickets at the border after a visit to relatives in Mexico. The 24-year-old Texas man was released after paying a $340 fine for violations he never incurred. Although his money was eventually returned, his nightmare was just beginning.

The most common start to identity theft is for the perpetrator get hold of someone's Social Security number, which is part of the system used to record people's earnings for federal retirement benefits. Once a person takes a job in the U.S., the first thing his employer will likely ask for is his or her Social Security number.

In Miranda's case, that's why he has gotten repeated letters from the federal tax officials demanding thousands of dollars in back taxes for wages paid to someone using his name and Social Security number to work at a pork slaughterhouse in Holton, Kansas. Miranda watched his once-high credit rating plummet as creditors reported unpaid bills incurred by others.

"Even though I am Hispanic, I am against illegal immigration," Miranda said. "Even though a lot of them come to work, there are always bad apples. (Identity theft) has really made my perspective ... negative about immigration."

A Mexican national accused of stealing Miranda's identity pleaded guilty last month to one count of using fraudulent documents in a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Joel Rojas-Morales, 27, will be sentenced in March.

"That way he knows crime doesn't pay in America. Maybe in Mexico it does. But here, it may take some time, but the long arm of the law catches up to you," Miranda said.

Chris Joseph, the defense attorney representing Rojas-Morales, is sympathetic to identity theft victims like Miranda.

"I have no reason to doubt that is absolutely true. There is no question he is a victim of identity theft," Joseph said.
