Tucker: Biden is in serious trouble tonight

I’d be inclined to disagree with Don except for one thing: Biden has proven to be a very adept criminal mastermind. For decades, he has funneled millions of dollars to his children and siblings and, especially, to his debauched, deviant son, Hunter. ANDREA WIDBURG

There it is.  That's the issue.  To begin, you have the corrupt family Biden.  They've been scamming us and our system well for almost fifty years.  The man is supposedly worth over 250 million dollars.  How is this possible on his salary?  It's not.  So where did his wealth come from?  Not from being a brilliant businessman. DAVID PRENTICE

"And it's curious that Joe Biden, you know, is the one that everybody jumped out of the race -- you know, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar all, like, tearfully backed out of the presidential race, all to back Joe Biden because they have this false narrative that Joe Biden was a regular guy that rode Amtrak, living in $10 million homes, having the lifestyle -- not just Joe, but his family.

(CNSNews.com) - This week's announcement that classified documents were discovered on Nov. 2 in at least one of Joe Biden's offices, including a Washington office that was funded by the University of Pennsylvania, is "just the beginning of what we need to investigate," Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) told "Mornings With Maria" on Thursday.

"But look, we know there's more coming out on Joe Biden," Tenney said:

"The laptop revealed so much that that's just the beginning, that's just the -- as I say, the tip of the iceberg, it's the bread crumb trail to what we could see. Where are the documents we don't know about around the world -- with China, with Ukraine and Burisma, and all these others? This is just the beginning of what we need to investigate.

"So I think if there's a lot the Democrats had to cover up...I have to wonder if the Democrats are like, let him go now. Now we've got to find somebody else because we know this is going to be too much and an impossible mountain to climb for the Democrats coming into 2024, you know, as we look at a whole new crop of Republicans that are going to be coming forward.

"So I think there's a lot to be seen here and the Democrats are scrambling. I think they're about ready to throw Joe Biden over, and you can see, even his press secretary can't defend him."

Tenney did defend Biden's Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, albeit with faint praise: "Well, look, I give her credit, because to be the press secretary and have to lie for the biggest liar in modern politics is quite an extraordinary obligation and job. I mean, what's she going to say? He (Biden) may not even know where they (classified documents) are."

Asked if House Republicans will investigate Chinese ties to the University of Pennsylvania, which provided Biden with an office in Washington, Tenney said yes: "I think that should be right where we start," Tenney said:

"And look at the universities across the nation who are involved with these Confucius Institutes. Some of them have backed away from them, but the Chinese influence across this country in so many ways, whether it's corporate interest and especially intervening in these universities, you know, disinformation campaigns, foreign influence, money is the big thing, and the Bidens are at the center of it.

"And just think, why aren't we seeing all those documents that are under seal at the university of Delaware for Joe Biden? I'd love to go and get an expert on analysis to go through and just -- what's in there? I'm not sure he even knows.

"This is information about a real scandal with a really corrupt president who is a true pathological liar, always has been, and now the Democrats have to own him. And I think the Republicans have to be strong in this. We have to fight just like the Democrats did. And we have the truth behind us, and we know there's more there.

"It's just a matter of getting to that, and a rigorous investigation -- good people on our committees is going to make that happen -- and I think one thing that we can all agree on --as you've seen, there's a little bit of disagreement among the Republicans -- we all agree that this is a problem.

“And I think, even among Independents and some Democrats, they think it's a problem, too, which is is why I think this is going to be an interesting year and to see how much Merrick Garland tries to scramble as we try to get the information that we need."

(CNSNews.com) - President Joe Biden admitted at a press conference on Thursday that he had kept documents that bore classification markings next to his Corvette in what he called “a locked garage” at his Delaware home.

At the press conference, reporter Peter Doocy of Fox News asked Biden: “Mr. President, classified material next to your Corvette. What were you thinking?”

“I’m going to get a chance to speak on all of this, God willing, soon,” said Biden. “But, as I said earlier this week, people—and, by the way, my Corvette’s in a locked garage. Okay. So, it’s not like they’re sitting out in the street.”

Doocy: “So, the material was in a locked garage?”

“Yes,” said Biden, “as well as my Corvette.

“But as I said earlier this week, people know I take classified documents and classified material seriously,” Biden said.

Early on Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland had stated at a press briefing that President Biden’s “personal counsel” had informed John Lausch, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois who was then investigating the matter, that “documents bearing classification markings” had been found in Biden’s Delaware garage.

Garland said the following: “On Dec. 20, President Biden’s personal counsel informed Mr. Lausch that additional documents bearing classification markings were identified in the garage of the president’s private residence in Wilmington, Delaware,” Garland said. “President Biden’s counsel informed Mr. Lausch that those documents were among other records from the period of the president’s service as vice president. The FBI went to the location and secured those documents.”

Here is a transcript of Biden’s discussion at today’s press briefing of the classified material discovered at this Delaware home:

Peter Doocey: “Mr. President, classified material next to your Corvette.  What were you thinking?”

President Biden:  “Let me— they’re—I’m going to get a chance to speak on all this, God willing, soon, but as I said earlier this week, people—and, by the way, my Corvette is in a locked garage. Okay?  So, it’s not like they’re sitting out in the street.  But at any rate—.”

Doocey: “So the material was in a locked garage?”

President Biden: “Yes, as well as my Corvette. But as I said earlier this week, people know I take classified documents and classified material seriously.  I also said we’re cooperating fully and completely with the Justice Department’s review.

“As part of that process, my lawyers reviewed other places where documents might of — from my time as Vice President were stored.  And they finished the review last night.

They discovered a small number of documents with classified markings in storage areas and in file cabinets in my home and my—and my—in my personal library.  This was done in the case of the Biden Penn—this was done in the case of the Biden Penn Center.

The Department of Justice was immediately—as was done, the Department of Justice was immediately cla—notified, and the lawyers arranged for the Department of Justice to take possession of the document.

So you’re going to see—we’re going to see all this unfold.  I’m confident—.”

Reporter: “When did you find there was a second batch of documents?”

President Biden: “Thank you very much.  Thank you.”

President Joe Biden’s alibi for storing troves of classified documents in three separate locations has shifted from claiming no knowledge of the documents to reassuring citizens they were stashed in a locked garage.

Biden was asked Thursday by Fox News why he would stash classified documents in his garage in Delaware. Biden responded the documents were in his “locked” garage with his Corvette.

“My Corvette’s in a locked garage, okay? So it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street,” he said.

The president claimed he would cooperate with the Justice Department to recover classified documents.

Biden’s alibi that the documents existed in a locked garage has shifted from his statement about the first trove of classified documents found by his lawyers at Penn Biden Center on Tuesday.

Biden said he was “surprised” about the trove of classified documents and that he did not know which exact documents were stashed in the Penn Biden Center.

“I don’t know what’s in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I not ask what documents they were,” Biden said.

“I was briefed about this discovery, and surprised to learn that there are any government records that were taken there to that office,” Biden added.

Meanwhile, the establishment media has tried to defend Biden for the incident, claiming the president’s first and second trove of classified documents were not stored at a personal residence like former President Trump’s alleged incident.

That narrative fell apart Thursday, when Biden’s lawyers revealed the third trove of stashed classified documents at Biden’s home in Delaware.

White House: Biden ‘Inadvertently Misplaced’ Classified Documents in Three Different Locations, ‘Surprised They Were Found’

The White House defended President Joe Biden on Thursday after classified documents from his time as vice president were uncovered by his lawyers and reported to the National Archives.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre read a statement from Biden’s lawyers during the daily press briefing.

“We are confident that a thorough review will show that these documents were inadvertently misplaced, and the president and his lawyers acted promptly upon discovery of this mistake,” she said.

Classified documents from when Biden was vice president in former President Barack Obama’s administration have now been discovered in three different locations: The president’s residence in Wilmington, his garage, and his private office at the Biden-Penn center in Washington, DC, according to reports.

Jean-Pierre refused to clarify details about where the documents were found but confirmed that the president was “surprised the records were found” in his garage next to his Corvette.

“He did not know the records were there when they were found,” she said.

National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby was similarly vague when asked for details about the documents that were discovered in Biden’s possession.

“The president has spoken to how seriously he takes the handling of classified documents,” says John Kirby, noting he did “exactly the right thing” by turning over the documents to the archives.

When asked if Biden having classified documents at his home is a threat to national security, Kirby replied, “That would be a question for the Justice Department.”

Comer: Biden Classified Material Storage and Handling ‘Worse’ Than Trump

1:38

Representative James Comer (R-KY) said Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “The Faulkner Focus” that in light of a second set of classified documents being found in President Joe Biden’s garage, his handling of classified material was “worse” than former President Donald Trump.

Comer said, “Everything he accused President Trump of with respect to storage and handling and possession of classified documents, we now know that President Biden did the same thing, only worse because they are in multiple locations, and we really don’t know what process was involved.”

He continued, “None of this makes sense. They have not been transparent or truthful. That’s why we’re investigating the Biden family. We believe that they are come compromised because of the millions of dollars they’ve received from our enemies around the world.”

He added, “If they did know when the first set of documents was found and didn’t talk about the second, then that’s a huge problem because they aren’t being transparent with the American people. The Biden administration has a history of covering things up. We are seeing that with the Biden family influence-peddling investigation. They are trying to cover things up. It is getting to the point people are starting to realize this isn’t a political investigation. This is serious because there are too many connections to China and anonymous donations in the tune of millions of dollars.”

Comer concluded, “The fact that we haven’t heard anything from the Department of Justice yet shows again that there is a two-tier system of justice here.”

Shameless media immediately make excuses for Biden’s mishandled classified documents

Scott Pelley:  When you saw the photograph of the top -secret documents laid out on the floor at Mar-a-Lago, what did you think to yourself looking at that image?

Joe Biden:  How could … anyone [Trump] could be that irresponsible?  … It's just totally irresponsible.

                               -CBS, 60 Minutes, September 2022

A stash of classified and top-secret documents, some with the “sensitive compartmented information” designation, has just been found at Joe Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement at the University of Pennsylvania and, just breaking, at least one additional batch has been found at other locations.

Unfortunately, the administration that boasts “Highest Standards of Transparency” has not condescended to say where the new stash has been found, the peasants having no right to know.  Quite surprisingly (or maybe not), the reaction to this from just about everybody in what passes for our “news” media was completely different from the reaction to Trump’s classified and top-secret documents at his guarded compound in Mar-a-Lago, which was raided last August.  In Trump’s case no distinctions, no qualifications, no nuance needed to be considered.  Trump was guilty of putting our national security at risk.  He’s going to get us all killed!

Michael Beschloss, a “presidential historian” with no history degree and a dependable virtue-signaling Democrat party groupie, suggested that Trump deserved the death penalty for retaining classified documents.  Former CIA Director Michael Hayden, who has been accused of lying to Congress, agreed, saying, “sounds about right.” CNN’s Laura Coates, atypically at a loss for words, said she simply does not know what to say about “the seriousness of [Trump’s] threats to national security.”  Carl Bernstein, who was fortunate to be standing beside Bob Woodward when the latter brought down Nixon, said that Trump “has played fast and loose with American national security."  Nicole Wallace, who used to pretend to be a Republican until MSNBC made her an offer she couldn’t refuse, described the situation as a national security crisis. Joy Reid of MSNBC was deeply upset with the “extreme risk Trump was willing to take with our national security” and so on.  Biden himself, prompted by Pelly’s invitation to trash Trump, was very clear that there could be no excuse whatsoever for a president’s taking classified documents when they left office.

Quite surprisingly, once Biden was found in possession of classified and top-secret documents, all sorts of excuses have suddenly materialized.

  1. There were not as many classified documents found in Biden’s possession.
  2. Biden’s lawyers voluntarily disclosed the existence of the documents after they found them rummaging through his closets at the University of Pennsylvania, in an amazing coincidence, just before the Republicans were predicted to take over the House and just after the November 2022 election had been concluded.
  3. Biden did not know anything about the documents and is, therefore, as innocent as a new born babe (or a senile octogenarian).
  4. Biden has been instructed by his lawyers not even to ask what is in the documents so he can maintain his blissful ignorance, for which he seems to have a peculiar knack, and what passes for our “news” media readily agreed to that request (almost as if they are “an arm of the Democrat Party”).

Unfortunately, none of these arguments are convincing.

In response to the first argument, the number of classified documents is not the issue. The issue is what is in the documents. One extremely sensitive classified or top-secret document could do far more damage if it falls into the hands of our enemies than a plethora of classified or top-secret documents that deal with outdated matters.

In response to the second argument, the fact that Biden’s lawyers voluntarily disclosed the existence of the documents (at a politically convenient time) does not negate the fact that national security secrets could already have been compromised. Indeed, Biden himself, to Pelly, stated that there was no excuse for a president having such documents in his possession after he left office.

In response to the third argument, it may be true that Biden does not seem to know much about what is going on about anything, a fact that is evident to many of us, but that does not absolve him of the fact that it is his responsibility to know what classified and top-secret documents are in his possession.

In response the fourth (bizarre) argument, that Biden has been instructed by his lawyers not even to ask what is in the documents, Biden and what passes for our “news” media appear to have forgotten that the present imperative is not to keep the man who had promised to be the most transparent president ever in a state of blissful ignorance but to explain to the American people what damage may have been done to their national security.

Further, there are numerous reasons why the Biden classified documents story is, arguably, considerably worse than the corresponding Trump story.

First, since Trump left office in early 2021 the classified documents were in his possession only about two years before the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago compound with guns drawn, whereas since Biden left office in 2016, his classified documents were in that “think tank” at the University of Pennsylvania for about six years before they were “found” at a politically convenient time, giving malicious actors much more time to access them and damage the nation.

Second, since the ultimate right to declassify documents belongs to the president, not the vice president, Trump has the right to declassify virtually any documents he pleased while he was in office whereas Biden, as a mere vice president, had no authority to declassify them.

Third, since all presidents are protected by the Secret Service for the remainder of their lives after they leave office, and since the documents in Trump’s possession were at his Mar-a-Lago compound, Trump’s walled compound with locked gates and rooms in the presence of the Secret Service, those documents were extremely well protected.

By contrast, since Biden’s classified and top-secret documents were kept at think tank at the University of Pennsylvania funded by $22 million from anonymous sources in China, there is plenty of reason to worry that the Biden document’s may have been accessed by China, the greatest threat to the U.S., according to FBI Director Christopher Wray.  One would have thought that anyone with a modicum of common sense would not have kept the documents in such a compromised location in the first place.  One can only wonder why this never occurred to Biden, specifically, whether the fact that his son Hunter has pocketed $31 million from Chinese elites had anything to do with his memory lapse.

They’re [the Chinese] not bad folks, folks. … They’re not competition for us.

Joe Biden, Campaign event, Iowa, 2019

Although the continuing refrain from the Democrat-Media Collusion Team has been that Trump has put the national security at risk, the real threat to our national security is a “news” media that shamelessly protects Biden and Democrat incompetence and malfeasance.

Note:  Beschloss and Hayden have not yet called for Biden’s execution.

Merrick Garland appoints special counsel to investigate Biden’s handling of classified documents

Within 24 hours of the public learning of the existence of a second trove of classified documents stolen from the White House by Joe Biden, this time in his Delaware garage, AG Merrick Garland disposed of a hot potato by appointing Robert Hur, a DC Lawyer and former US Attorney for Maryland as special counsel.

The approved narrative is already emphasizing that he was a Trump appointee but will not mention that presidents usually nominate candidates recommended by a state’s senators, in Hur’s case, liberal Democrats Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen in 2018.

Hur is an expert in crisis management. He is:

…a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, [one of the largest (1400 lawyers) law firms in the country] and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Crisis Management Practice Group. (snip) He is also a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Group and the National Security Practice Group

Gibson, Dunn is not known as a Democrat or Republican-affiliated firm. Hur’s fields of concentration as a lawyer are a good fit with the needs of this investigation. So far, so good.  From his bio, you can tell he was the kind of hyper-student that impressed faculty at all the elite schools where he studied.

Mr. Hur received his J.D. from Stanford  Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Stanford Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and won the Kirkwood Moot Court Competition. He served as a law clerk for William H. Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States, and Judge Alex Kozinski of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Hur received his A.B. degree, magna cum laude with highest honors, from Harvard College and studied philosophy at King’s College, Cambridge.

His clerkships seem to indicate he’s not a raving leftist, so I’d say for now that he deserves the benefit it of the doubt. Because everything is about race, we are told, it is worth noting that Hur is a Korean-American.

The special counsel appointment may put a lid on the Republican-led House investigating the cover-up of news of the first batch of documents before the 2022 election. That would amount to election interference by the DOJ, and is a legitimate path of inquiry. But the SC’s office can claim that the matter is under investigation and stonewall the public until well after the 2024 election.

But as to the timing of Garland’s announcement, Charlie Savage of the New York Times reports:

Garland’s statement filled in some missing dates on timing. He said that on Dec. 20, Biden’s team reported finding the second batch of documents in the garage at his house in Wilmington. The White House earlier today acknowledged finding that batch and said Biden’s team had reported it “immediately” but did not say when that was. Garland also indicated one additional page

So, Garland and Biden have both known for more than 3 weeks about the second batch and never mentioned anything to the public. And he says that he made the decision to appoint a special counsel before even the first batch become publicly known:

Garland says he made the decision to appoint a special counsel on the recommendation of John Lausch, a United States attorney in Illinois, last week. Notably, that was before the leak to CBS News on Monday that created, tremendous political pressure on Garland to take this step.

Why did Garland wait so long to announce his decision? Waiting until after the “leak” created a bigger furor than would have announcing both sets of documents and the appointment of a special counsel at the same time.

I’ve all along suspected that puppet masters don’t want Biden to run for re-election. Now that the public is on to his senility, the basement strategy of 2020 won’t work in 2024. His track record of inflation, stagnation, and overseas blunders makes matters even worse. Yet we heard unsourced reports that he was planning to announce a run for re-election.

The way the existence of these documents has come to light, and the way Garland orchestrated the appointment of a special counsel adds more evidence to the hypothesis that he is part of a cabal that is easing Biden out of office. If that’s the case, I’d expect Special Counsel Hur to be told to take his time and be very thorough, such that any action would follow the 2024 election. Face it, nobody but Kamala Harris wants Biden driven from office the way Nixon was, before the end of his term. But the same logic they applied to Trump applies to Biden. Running for the presidency with a special counsel investigation and possible criminal prosecution hanging over your head is awkward.

Glenn Thrush of the New York Times previews a talking point to come from Biden apologists, one that conflates documents taken home by Biden from his presidency (which he has the authority to declassify) and documents taken from his term as vice president (which he couldn’t declassify and which, if removed from  the White House were therefore stolen.):

In August, President Biden was asked if it was ever appropriate to take classified materials home. He said yes, with caveats. “I have, in my home, a cabined off space that is completely secure,” he told reporters, adding that he often takes home sensitive documents.

When a reporter followed up by asking if he thought it was acceptable to bring top secret material home, he said: “It depends on the document, and it depends on how secure the room is.” On Dec. 20, Biden’s lawyers found classified documents dating from the Obama era in his garage in Wilmington.

Update: The scene of the crime:
