White House Expresses Condolences to OJ’s Family, No Mention of Victims

The White House sparked controversy on Thursday when it expressed condolences to the family of OJ Simpson without mentioning the families of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman – the two people he had been accused of (and acquitted of) murdering before being found unanimously responsible for their deaths in a civil trial.

“Our thoughts are with his families [sic] during this difficult time — obviously with his family and loved ones,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a briefing.

“And I’ll say this: I know that they have asked for some privacy. And so we’re going to respect that. And I’ll just leave it there,” she added.

Simpson’s family announced his death at the age of 76 on Thursday following a battle with prostate cancer.

“He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” a statement from the family said. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

As Breitbart News reported, Simpson’s star power following a prolific football career, which included 11 NFL seasons as a star running back with the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers, cratered in the early 1990s when he stood accused of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman. Though he was acquitted of those murders following a lengthy and controversial trial, a jury later unanimously declared him liable for their deaths in a civil trial.

The Goldman family only expressed sorrow upon learning of OJ’s death, saying it reminded them of Ron Goldman’s absence.

“The only thing I have to say is it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years,” Fred Goldman told NBC News.

“It’s no great loss to the world. It’s a further reminder of Ron’s being gone,” he added.

‘Murderer’: Social Media Reacts to the Passing of O.J. Simpson

DO BLACKS END UP IN PRISON BECAUSE OF WHITEY, OR BECAUSE THE COUNTRY IS NOT SAFE FROM BLACK CRIME? THE STATS DOCUMENT VOLUMES.

CUNY Professor and race commentator Marc Lamont Hill weighed in Thursday on the death of troubled NFL star O.J. Simpson, who Hill says was guilty but also whose acquittal was necessary to address “racism” in the legal system.

Hill jumped to his X account on Thursday to regale his followers on the reason why a guilty murderer should be acquitted of his crime.

“O.J. Simpson was an abusive liar who abandoned his community long before he killed two people in cold blood,” Hill insisted.

But he went on, adding, “His acquittal for murder was the correct and necessary result of a racist criminal legal system. But he’s still a monster, not a martyr.”

Hill’s claim that an “abusive” killer deserved to get off because of systemic racism certainly brought replies on X.

Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson died on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. He was 76.

“He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” a statement from the family said. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

Simpson made headlines in February when it was announced that the former NFL player and accused murderer had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Reports also indicated that Simpson had entered hospice care while he received chemotherapy treatment. However, Simpson himself refuted that report on X.

“Hospice? Hospice? You talking ‘bout hospice?” Simpson said in a video posted to X.

Simpson achieved fame as a college football star at the University of Southern California (USC) and followed that up with a stellar 11-year career in the NFL before launching a successful broadcasting and movie career.

However, in 1994, Simpson’s fame gave way to infamy as video of him fleeing Los Angeles police officers in a white Bronco after he was charged with the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

Simpson went to trial to contest the charges in 1995 and was acquitted of criminal murder. The verdict came as a shock to many who believed Simpson was the murderer and that the verdict was fraudulent.

Two years later, Simpson was found civilly liable for the murders.

During his time at USC, Simpson was seen as a breaker of racial barriers during the turbulent 1960s.

Simpson was one of the biggest stars in the NFL during his time in Buffalo. In 1973, he became the only player to rush for 2,000 in a 14-game season. He also had an 1800-yard season in 1975 and a 1500-yard season in 1976.

Anyone who watched television in the 1980s remembers the Hertz car commercials featuring a running, spinning, and jumping O.J. Simpson as he hurried to make his flight.

The former Heisman Trophy winner also gained notoriety for his marriage to a former homecoming queen, Nicole Brown.

After the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman, O.J. Simpson assembled one of the finest legal defense teams in history. A significant amount of the evidence in the case centered on the fit of the gloves the prosecution alleged Simpson wore.

“We don’t need to go back and relive the worst day of our lives,” Simpson said of the killings in 2019. “The subject of the moment is the subject I will never revisit again. My family and I have moved on to what we call the ‘no negative zone.’ We focus on the positives.”

Former NFL running back, convict, and accused murderer O.J. Simpson died on Wednesday after a battle with cancer at the age of 76. And social media users have thoughts.

The family said in a statement, that Simpson was “surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

Simpson’s prostate cancer diagnosis was just recently revealed in February. Reports say the NFL star had found out about his cancer not long before it was revealed publicly.

Known as “The Juice,” Simpson parlayed his amazing and still record-breaking NFL career into an acting career and appeared in movies and on TV.

But he also fell into infamy after being accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in 1994. He was eventually acquitted of murder but lost several civil cases over the murders.

While he escaped jail in the murder charges, though, he was later convicted of armed robbery for stealing a group of sports memorabilia from a dealer in Las Vegas in 2007. He served several years in jail for that crime and was paroled in 2017.

With this controversial history, social media has gone gonzo upon the news of Simpson’s death at 76.

NFL Network host Kyle Brandt did not mince words.

The murder accusations against Simpson also led to much comedic content on Saturday Night Live.
