A Thanks to Rep. Robert Ramirez For Thinking of AMERICANS above Illegals!

April 28, 2011

Please take time to say thank you to Colorado lawmaker Robert Ramirez, for without his 'No' vote the Colorado Dream Act (SB 126) - giving illegal aliens in-state college tuition - would have passed through the Colorado House of Representatives Education Committee.

Rep. Ramirez is a Colorado lawmaker who is upholding American law, despite the pressure to do otherwise. Per his interview in the Denver Post, he is now hearing from those who wish to see the ASSET Bill, also known as SB 126, made law.

(SNIP FROM THE DENVER POST, April 28, 2011)

Since the vote,
Ramirez

said he has received "tons" of angry e-mails from Latinos. One e-mail said, "How do you dare call yourself a Mexican-American?"

"Well, I don't," Ramirez said. "I call myself an American."

Carmen Medrano, a community organizer for Metro Organizations for People, which supported the bill, said illegal-immigrant students attending Monday's packed hearing were furious about Ramirez's vote in light of his being the son of a Mexican immigrant.
