COVID-19 rampant among musicians despite “end of the pandemic”

COVID-19 rampant among musicians despite “end of the pandemic”

A remarkable number of musicians—from Ringo Starr to Harry Styles—have canceled concerts and other appearances in the past year due to acknowledged cases of COVID-19 or, more frequently, due to undisclosed illnesses. While governments have averted their eyes from the COVID pandemic, halting its reporting of cases and other crucial data, observable phenomena such as an epidemic of canceled shows demonstrate that the deadly, highly contagious disease is still very much with us.

Starr admitted he had COVID last October and canceled his remaining fall dates with his All-Star Band. Styles canceled shows last November when band members had an undisclosed illness and Styles himself became sick with what he called “the flu.”

Singer Adele announced last week that she would no longer be posing for pictures with fans at her shows, saying she is “hanging on by thread [sic] trying not to get COVID.” She added, “Everyone that I know that I work with has f**king COVID, so it’s a miracle that I haven’t had it yet.” Her fans of course are also at risk. Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa performed with the E Street Band in Newark, New Jersey last April while sick with COVID, testing positive hours after the show.

Rock band Guns N’ Roses pulled out of a September 10 show “due to illness.” Billy Joel canceled a Madison Square Garden date last December due to a “viral infection” that he now acknowledges was COVID. Stevie Nicks canceled shows in April, disclosing that there was COVID among her band members. Paul Simon revealed in May that he had recently recovered from a severe case of COVID. The singer-songwriter now suffers from hearing loss that may be attributable to the disease and claims that his performing days are over. And James Hetfield of the band Metallica has revealed he has COVID. On Friday, Travis Barker, 47, the drummer for the rock band Blink-182, shared his diagnosis on Instagram, holding up a positive COVID test.

More commonly, performers remain vague about health issues that result in their canceling shows. Here are just a few such examples in recent months:

  • Lizzo canceled performances last spring when she was sick for weeks with what she described   as “flu-like symptoms,” claiming she had not tested positive for COVID but for strep throat.
  • Singer Lorde has battled undisclosed health issues throughout 2023.
  • John Mellencamp canceled shows in April “due to illness.”
  • Country group the Chicks canceled shows throughout the summer due to “ongoing illness.”
  • Ryan Adams canceled the remainder of his tour in August “due to illness.”
  • The band Paramore canceled tour dates in August because of frontwoman Hayley Williams’s struggle with what she has only referred to as a “lung infection.”
  • Skid Row canceled a show last week due to “a band member’s illness.” Members of the band missed performances last October and in April of this year because they had COVID.
  • Sufjan Stevens has developed Guillain-Barre syndrome, a neuromuscular condition often found to be consequential to COVID.
  • Pearl Jam postponed a concert on September 10 “due to illness.”
  • Stromae, the Belgian singer-songwriter, canceled several tour dates last April due to “health issues.”
  • Louis Tomlinson, formerly of One Direction, canceled the Asian leg of his recent tour on April 11, claiming “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason.

It is unlikely that all such cancellations are the result of COVID infections, but it is equally unlikely that none are due to the virus. Thanks to the virtual abandonment of public health measures to counter, let alone eliminate the disease, a plethora of variants and strains of the novel coronavirus now threaten the public. The current diversity of the virus’s mutations is suggested when we consider that the most common strain, EG.5—nicknamed Eris—accounts for only 21.5 percent of all COVID cases.

Two of the leading anti-COVID advocates active on Twitter/X, @MeetJess and @LauraMiers, have highlighted the spread of COVID-19 among musicians and at concerts in numerous tweets, many of which have gone viral.

Jess told the World Socialist Web Site, “More and more we are seeing concerts being cancelled due to ‘illness.’ These venues are creating a perfect storm for onward transmission. We are constantly seeing people posting on social media their positive COVID tests after attending a concert. We are talking about thousands of people crammed into spaces with zero mitigations put into place to keep anyone safe.”

Commenting on the pressures placed upon artists, Jess added, “We are also watching artists potentially putting their careers as musicians and performers on the line to join this ‘urgency of normal.’ Some even posting about performing while sick. ‘Pushing through illness’ for the sake of the ‘show must go on’ is dangerous for the artists’ own health and for whoever they may be infecting while doing so. We know how to keep safe, we know how to protect each other by using simple measures like respirators and clean air. Why not offer safer venues?”

There are a couple of notable exceptions to the prevailing trends among artists getting sick and holding unsafe concerts. Indie rock group Deerhoof has been outspoken against the efforts to normalize the pandemic, and requests that their fans wear masks at all of their concerts. Contrary to the anti-masking propaganda, the overwhelming majority happily do so to safely see the artists perform. Similarly, indie rock artist The Anchoress has advocated for masking and clean air at her concerts, with strong support from her fans.

But the vast majority of artists, along with the population more generally, have not been able to withstand the ruling elites’ unrelenting propaganda campaign aimed at falsely portraying the pandemic as over and COVID-19 as no more harmful than the common cold or flu. This is understandable, as it has been driven from the highest levels of the state and involves the entire political establishment and corporate media.

On September 18, 2022, President Joe Biden proclaimed in a “60 Minutes” interview, “The pandemic is over.” That week, 2,543 Americans would lose their lives to COVID-19. On May 11 of this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) in the United States. Two days later, the seven-day average for COVID deaths in the US was 829. Since then, the seven-day average has not fallen below four hundred.

With the end of the PHE, the CDC ceased its program of keeping track of cases by means of test results at county health departments and now only monitors hospitalizations and deaths. This means that any assessment of the occurrence of COVID in the population depends on analysis of wastewater (sewage), which counties conduct and report on a voluntary basis. Knowing the incidence of cases, however, is critical to any responsible public health regime regarding COVID.

It is the height of irresponsibility, amounting to criminality, not to have in place a complete testing and contact tracing program nationwide for so contagious, lethal and adaptable a disease. Further, the vast majority of cases do not result in either hospitalization or death, but every case, even those in which the patient remains asymptomatic, can result in severe aftereffects, including Long COVID. Finally, though no less importantly, the US is only one country. The spread of COVID here, which is now utterly unchecked, poses a dire threat to people in every other country in the world.

Open Borders Boondoggle: Biden’s DHS (MAYORKAS) Sends Millions in Taxpayer Money to NGOs Facilitating Illegal Immigration

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) aiding border crossers and illegal aliens are raking in millions in American taxpayer cash from President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), an accounting of public records shows.

This week, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the administration was sending more than $12.2 million to NGOs like Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army, United Way, Annunciation House, a Baptist Church association, an Episcopal Diocese, and Lawyers for Good Government Foundation, among others, for their facilitating illegal immigration.

Likewise, the taxpayer money is going to jurisdictions like Albuquerque, New Mexico; Brownsville, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; McAllen, Texas; Riverside County, California; El Paso, Texas; and Pima County, Arizona.

Much of the taxpayer money is flowing through a new route under Biden after he created the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) to funnel funding from the federal government to NGOs and sanctuary jurisdictions that help with their mass immigration goals.

“SSP grants have provided critical support to communities receiving migrants and the need for this support is ongoing,” Mayorkas said in a statement:

With this announcement, DHS has completed allocating all available FY23 SSP funding authorized by Congress. We urge lawmakers to act on DHS’s request for an additional $600 million for SSP in the FY23 budget supplemental to continue supporting border and interior communities receiving migrants. [Emphasis added]

The additional millions announced this week are on top of $290 million previously announced in June of this year as well as another $77 million announced last month. In total, the Biden administration has awarded NGOs and sanctuary jurisdictions close to $800 million through the SSP grants route.

As sanctuary cities like New York City and Chicago have quickly learned, illegal immigration imposes an enormous burden on American taxpayers.

Annually, the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. cost American taxpayers $163 billion. That amount does not include any of the social and economic costs — such as higher housing prices, depleted wages, lost jobs, increased crime, and strained public resources at hospitals and schools.

Texas Gov. Abbott: ‘Outrageous’ That Biden Did Nothing When Internal Docs Warned Him Migrant Surge Was Coming

“This is outrageous. The Biden Admin knew full well of an incoming surge of illegal immigrants and did nothing to stop it,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) said Tuesday, reacting to the news that the administration’s own internal documents warned the surge was coming.

Gov. Abbott made the comment in a social media post, regarding an article published Monday by Washington Free Beacon reporting that it has obtained the revealing internal documents:

“The Department of Homeland Security was aware that a large population of migrants was preparing to cross the southern border months before a near-record number surged into the country this month, internal documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show—but appears to have taken no action to forestall an influx that has overwhelmed local officials across the United States.

“The documents show that Mexican immigration authorities have seen a spike in apprehensions since May, an indication that border crossings were likely to rise, and that federal agencies documented a large buildup of migrants on the Mexican side of the border at the beginning of September.”

“On top of that, the Biden Admin CUT razor wire Texas installed. Texas didn't back down. We DOUBLED our efforts,” Gov. Abbott’s post adds.

On Thursday, Gov. Abbott posted video of two uniformed men first cutting the wire barrier, then pulling it open, allowing illegal aliens to begin walking in, unencumbered.

As illegal aliens continue to flood into Texas and overwhelm his city, Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas has declared a state of emergency. Many of the illegal immigrants are single males who “don’t want to listen to instructions and they’re leaving the [processing] facility,” the mayor said in an announcement.

“Not all of these people come in peace,” the mayor warned.

Meanwhile, Pres. Biden continues to shirk responsibility for his administration’s failure to address the border crisis, blaming “MAGA Republicans” for refusing to pass legislation to allow even more illegal aliens into the U.S. – and grant them citizenship, once they get here.

Used as a slur by Democrats, "MAGA" is an acronym for "Make America Great Again."

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg to Joe Biden: Kill American ‘Xenophobia’ by Importing More Migrants

President Joe Biden should smash the public’s growing opposition to migration by importing migrants into Americans’ jobs, according to Mike Bloomberg, the multi-millionaire, pro-migration chief of the Bloomberg news empire.

By “taking more steps forward, [Biden] can strengthen the economy, support cities, and strike a blow against xenophobia [emphasis added] and candidates who promote it,” Bloomberg wrote Wednesday.

Wealthy Bloomberg is saying that “the American people are the problem, and if you change our society through mass immigration, you’ll reduce the political opposition that he’s encountering,” Jon Feere, who served as an immigration official in former President Donald Trump’s administration, told Breitbart News.

It “is a perfect example of how the wealthiest people in our society … have insulated themselves to such degree that they couldn’t care less the about the [damaging] impact on our middle class and low wage workers,” Feere added.

Bloomberg is a political progressive with $100 billion in the bank in a nation where half of Americans have a net worth below $123,000.

Based in New York, Bloomberg and his billionaire peers have repeatedly called for more migrants to replace the many Americans who do not meet their economic priorities.

“This country needs more immigrants, and we should be out looking for immigrants,” Bloomberg told the San Diego Union-Tribune in January 2020, adding:

For those who need an oboe player for a symphony, we want the best one. We need a striker for a soccer team, we want to get the best one. We want a farmworker, we want to get the best one. A computer programmer, we want to get the best one. So we should be out looking for more immigrants.

But Bloomberg’s call to use migration for political purposes — “a blow against … xenophobia” — is an elite-driven escalation of the current fight with populists over migration, jobs, housing, and wages.

Unfortunately for Bloomberg, Americans are increasingly opposed to migration and its damaging impact on their pocketbooks, communities, hospitals, schools, and politics.

For example, Biden received a 23 percent approval rating for his border policy, according to a September poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News. Sixty-four percent declared opposition to Biden’s policies.

The poll shows an eight-point shift since February when Biden had 28 percent support and 59 percent opposition.

A September NBC poll of 1,000 registered voters showed that only 20 percent of voters believe Biden and Democrats will do a better job than the GOP on border security. Only 27 percent say Democrats will do a better job than the GOP on migration policy.

Like other Democrats, Bloomberg complimented the illegal migrants who violated the nation’s border laws. He wrote:

Last week, Biden announced that he would grant temporary protected status to the nearly 500,000 Venezuelans who have entered the US over the past 18 months … They have come here in search of work and a better life, as immigrants have always done, often showing enormous courage and determination in making the long and perilous journey.

Under federal law, U.S. officials must reject asylum claims from migrants who “come here in search of work and a better life.”

But nearly all of President Joe Biden’s migrants are economic migrants, according to a poll by the pro-migration Los Angeles Times:

Bloomberg — like many other investors, CEOs, and landlords — wants the government to provide them with waves of legal and illegal migrant workers, consumers, and renters, regardless of the damage done to their fellow American citizens.

So Bloomberg urged the government to subsidize illegal migrants — but not Americans — with economic aid:

Congress and the White House should work to ensure that all asylum-seekers who have been admitted into the country are granted work authorizations. Cities also need Washington to provide more financial support for the safety-net programs that some asylum-seekers must rely on as they get on their feet.

Many Democrats are calling for migrants to replace the millions of Americans who have been sidelined in the economy.

Extraction Migration

The Biden migration added at least four million workers to the nation’s workforce. That flood was urged and welcomed by business groups because it cut Americans’ blue-collar wages and white-collar salaries. It also reduced marketplace pressure to invest in productivity-boosting technologyheartland states, and overseas markets, as well as reduced economic pressure on the federal government to deal with the drug and “Deaths of Despair” crises.

Biden’s easy-migration policies deliberately add the foreigners’ problems to the lengthening list of Americans’ problems — homelessness, low wages, a shrinking middle class, slowing innovation, declining blue-collar life expectancy, spreading poverty, the rising death toll from drugs, and the spreading alienation among young people.

Democrat-run New York City plans to hand out flyers at the southern U.S. border telling migrants not to come to the city and urging them to go elsewhere.

Local authorities announced the move on Wednesday, and images of the flyers show a list of warnings to migrants flooding across the nation’s border, according to WPDE.

In bullet points, the blue flyer reads, “New York City’s (NYC) resources have been exhausted,” and “Asylum Seekers are now getting letters to move out of the shelter.”

The announcement also warns them, “You will not be placed in a hotel,” adding, “NYC is one of the most expensive cities in the world; you are better off going to a more affordable city.”

The flyer further states, “NYC cannot help you obtain a work permit, and you will not be able to easily find work.”

In addition, Democrat Mayor Eric Adams recently limited adult migrants to 30 days in the city’s facilities as shelters are overwhelmed, NewsNation reported Tuesday:

The mayor said in July officials would begin distributing flyers at the United States border with Mexico in an effort to push migrants to other areas, AFP reported at the time.

It is the “radical” sanctuary policies of Democrats such as President Joe Biden, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and Adams that are responsible for the state’s immigration crisis, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) told Breitbart News in August.

“Unfortunately, because of these extreme Democrats’ policies, every community is now a border community,” and those communities are “reaping the havoc these policies have caused,” she added.

She also said House Republicans “know that border security is national security, and that is why we made restoring border security a key pillar of our ‘Commitment to America’ that we ran and won on in 2022.”

According to the WPDE article, Adams recently said the migrant influx may cost the city $12 billion in the next three years.

Michael Lind: Democrats Revive Blue Cities with Infusions of Poor Migrants

The major Democratic-run cities cannot survive without their Ponzi scheme of low-wage migration, says author Michael Lind.

“An international migration Ponzi scheme is the only thing that averts a demographic doom loop for cities like New York and San Francisco,” as Americans flee the Democrats’ huge and badly-run cities, Lind wrote in the September 26 article for Compact Magazine.

“It is time for the euthanasia of the [immigration-addicted] city — by, among other things, stopping the urban immigration Ponzi scheme,” he said.

Democratic mayors pretend to oppose the unpopular migration while calling for more migrants and more federal funds to help replace the Americans who leave the corrupt, expensive, and badly run cities, said Lind:

There is one thing that Democratic mayors in New York, Washington, and Chicago are not doing — and that is calling for a reduction in the numbers of immigrants waved in under various categories expanded by the Biden administration. Instead, Democratic urban politicians like Adams are merely calling on the federal government to subsidize the costs created by the influx and to make it easier for the migrants to join the urban labor force. To put it another way, Democratic cities want to nationalize and socialize the costs of mass low-wage migration, while localizing the benefits.

Lind is a former establishment advocate, who has zig-zagged towards populism in the last several years.

Most cities were built around industrial-age factories, but post-industrial employers quit the cities and moved their workplace out to the suburbs, he wrote.

A few cities have survived that loss by building a “rentier” economy around an executive-level workforce who oversee distant investments in many businesses, such as healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, or services.

In turn, the elite management class is supported by many professionals, and by a huge population of disposable, low-wage service workers. The service workforce of Americans — alongside many poor legal or illegal migrants — hold low-productivity food, sanitation, delivery, and retail jobs.

This structure is a bonanza for privileged economic groups in the cities:

The rentier cities have come to depend on a constant influx of new immigrants from other countries to replace the immigrants and natives who move out in search of lower prices or higher wages. Low-wage immigrants are welcome as servants for the urban managerial elite, tenants for urban slumlords, clients for public agencies and nonprofits, riders for mass transit, and taxpayers for urban governments.

The — but much-ignored — civic problem of the immigration-stuffed cities is that they simultaneously drive down wages and push up housing costs. That process leaves Americans and immigrants unable to afford homes for families, and it pushes them — and their few children — out to lower-opportunity cities in heartland states.

The New York Times, for example, recently described the tenement-like housing that contributed to the murder of an immigrant by another immigrant:

The apartment had three rooms; Ms. Zhao and her children occupied one, a single person lived in a second, and a 9-year-old boy took up the third with his father, who was charged in the killing. The families had argued over the state of the kitchen and bathroom, and internet access — the various inconveniences and deprivations that come with living on top of one another.

Overcrowding is common in the neighborhood. Ms. Zhao and her family “were trying their best to survive, to make rent, to have every room occupied,” said Alexa Aviles, the City Council representative in Sunset Park. The city has turned away from these realities, she told me, “even as it knows that overcrowding is problematic.”

To some extent that is vastly understating things. A few years ago, a fire in another apartment building in Sunset Park revealed the scope and hardship of the situation, given that there were roughly 160 people living in 40 small units. Those families are now dispersed throughout the city, their community and social networks having dissolved.

The same housing problem is expanding to American towns because the Democrats’ cities are trying to offload their poorest populations to nearby towns. Breitbart News reported on September 19:

Officials in Rockland County, New York, announced Monday that they are taking legal action against a landlord for allowing her single-family rental home to become a “migrant flophouse” housing some 31 illegal border crossers.

The illegals — from Ecuador and Guatemala — were discovered when county officials launched a surprise inspection of the residence in the Clarkstown hamlet of New City, which is on the banks of the Hudson River.

“We knew something was amiss. What we saw was so bad. This was by far the worst flophouse we’ve seen,” he added, calling the situation “unacceptable.”

Lind’s article is titled “The Sanctuary City’s Ponzi Scheme.”

This migrant-exploitation economy is perfumed by the city establishment’s Cold War-era narrative that Americans’ homeland is really a “Nation of Immigrants.”

“We’re nothing if we’re not a nation of immigrants,” Democrat leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told a December 2020 online meeting of business leaders who have been made wealthy by exploiting migrants. He continued:

Immigrants built this country with their hands, enriched our culture with their minds and spirit, and provided the spark that drives our economy …

Many of you may not know this; My middle name is Ellis. Guess what? I was named after Uncle Ellis, who was named after Ellis Island, and in keeping with that tradition, our second daughter, we chose her middle name to be Emma for the poet Emma Lazarus, who wrote on this pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, “Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses yearning to be free.” So this is in my bones as a New Yorker, as someone whose grandparents immigrated to the country in search of a better life.

Progressive reporters mimic billionaires as they tout the infusion of migrants which pushes many ordinary Americans — including blacks — and their kids out of the big coastal cities.

“New York City has long been a magnet for new Americans,” gushed a four-reporter article in the New York Times, adding:

Aqdas Shahnoory, 17, and her family fled the Taliban in Afghanistan. On Ellis Island, she gave a speech in Dari, an Afghan variant of Persian: “We must remember that immigrants are not just numbers or statistics, but people with dreams.”

The cities’ addiction to migrants ensures that city officials constantly push for more immigrants and also fight public demand for the enforcement of popular immigration laws, he says.

But the blue cities’ addiction to migration makes them obsolete and inefficient for Americans’ needs, Lind wrote:

Far from representing the future in the information age, cities like San Francisco and Gotham are technologically obsolete, socially dysfunctional, and economically parasitic. Only a steady morphine drip of low-wage international immigration and subsidies from taxpayers who live elsewhere keep these legacy cities from shrinking to more sustainable dimensions, like Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cleveland, and St. Louis after World War II.

Extraction Migration

The federal government has long operated an unpopular economic policy of Extraction Migration. This colonialism-like policy extracts vast amounts of human resources from needy countries, reduces beneficial trade, and uses the imported workers, renters, and consumers to grow Wall Street and the economy.

The migrant inflow has successfully forced down Americans’ wages and also boosted rents and housing prices. The inflow has also pushed many native-born Americans out of careers in a wide variety of business sectors and contributed to the rising death rate of poor Americans.

The lethal policy also sucks jobs and wealth from heartland states by subsidizing coastal investors with a flood of low-wage workers, high-occupancy renters, and government-aided consumers.

The population inflow also reduces the political clout of native-born Americans, because the population replacement allows elites and the establishment to divorce themselves from the needs and interests of ordinary Americans.

In many speeches, border chief Alejandro Mayorkas says he is building a mass migration system to deliver workers to wealthy employers and investors and “equity” to poor foreigners. The nation’s border laws are subordinate to elite opinion about “the values of our country” Mayorkas claims.

Migration — and especially, labor migration — is unpopular among swing voters. A 54 percent majority of Americans say Biden is allowing a southern border invasion, according to an August 2022 poll commissioned by the left-of-center National Public Radio (NPR). The 54 percent “Invasion” majority included 76 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents, and even 40 percent of Democrats.

Texas Isn't To Blame for New York's Migrant Crisis, Governor Says—Biden Is

(Photos by Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images and Scott Olson/Getty Images)
September 28, 2023

Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) during a Wednesday event in New York City criticized Democrats' attempts to blame him for New York's migrant crisis, saying, "The lead importer of migrants to New York is not Texas, it's Joe Biden."

Abbott said that New York's influx of illegal immigrants is "unsustainable," but he sharply disagreed with Democrats who say his decision to bus migrants to New York is causing the problem. The Biden administration, the governor said, is not using its "authority to 'repel' migrants at the border," leaving Texas to enforce immigration laws, the Associated Press reported.

The crisis worsened after the Biden administration in May allowed border security measure Title 42 to lapse. Two months later, Biden's Justice Department sued Texas for setting up a barrier in the Rio Grande to block migrants from crossing the river.

The Border Patrol is logging roughly 8,000 migrant crossings per day, the highest number in U.S. history, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Until Biden enforces the laws, Abbott said, "Texas is going to continue to use every tool that we can to secure the border the best that we can."

Texas last week bused more migrants to New York, prompting criticism from New York City mayor Eric Adams (D.) and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. So far, Texas has sent 15,800 migrants to the Big Apple since spring 2022, according to the AP.

Abbott said that New York is experiencing only a fraction of Texas's migrant crisis. "What is going on in New York is calm and organized compared to the real chaos of what we see on the border," the governor said.

The crisis has prompted New York Democrats to turn hawkish on immigration. Adams said this month that unrestricted migration "will destroy New York City," while Gov. Kathy Hochul told immigrants to "go somewhere else" other than the Empire State.

Close the Border...Then What?

By some estimates, there are thirty million illegal aliens in the United States.  Illegals have been pouring in at the rate of at least two million a year, and now that influx is being deliberately increased.  Leftists want to give them amnesty.  Illegals are being issued driver's licenses.  Illegals will also be allowed to vote in municipal elections.  They are even being given payments, which will ensure they'll vote Democrat.  Does anyone doubt that mail-in shenanigans are planned for the 2024 election?  Leftists are willing to intentionally demolish this country if that's what it takes to stay in power.

Inevitably, the day will come when the government will be forced to control the border.  We will then be stuck with all the illegal aliens who made it in.  To nobody's surprise, the government has "lost track" of most of them.

I'd like to propose a model for decisively dealing with these illegal aliens once the border is finally secure.  Here are some of the necessary, commonsense measures we'll need.

First, these basic immigration laws should be instituted immediately:

  1. No "sanctuary states" or "sanctuary cities" will be permitted.  Federal immigration law supersedes state and local laws.  Any state or city proclaiming itself a "sanctuary" for illegal aliens will forfeit all federal funding for that state.  States or cities trying to thwart Border Patrol or ICE enforcement will similarly lose all federal funding for that state.
  2. "Birthright citizenship" for the children of illegal aliens born in the U.S. must be abolished immediately.  No child of an illegal alien will qualify as a U.S. citizen simply by being born on U.S. soil.  No more "birth tourism" — the practice of coming to the U.S. on a visa, giving birth while here, and the child automatically becomes a U.S. citizen.  Only the children of permanent, legal immigrants will have birthright citizenship.
  3. "Chain migration" — the practice of expediting the immigration of the extended families of immigrants — must be abolished immediately.  That system has been deliberately abused and needs to be scrapped, or at least revamped with tightened controls.
  4. "Asylum" rules must be strictly enforced and significantly tightened.  Migrants shouldn't be allowed to cross several other countries to seek asylum in the U.S.  Economic reasons at home, or nebulous claims of "being afraid," do not justify asylum.  Asylum must be restricted to defined, demonstrable emergencies only, not abused to facilitate easy entry into the U.S., as it is now.
  5. There will be no "expedited citizenship process," or "amnesty," for any illegal alien, no matter how long he's been in the country or how he got here.  Criminal behavior must not be rewarded, and aliens who broke the law cannot be allowed to "cut the line" ahead of law-abiding immigrants.

Second, we need a process to deal with illegal aliens who are already here.  I suggest something along these lines:

A "deadline date" would be selected by which all illegal aliens must leave the U.S. or register.  This includes DACA recipients, people already granted temporary asylum, those who have pending immigration court dates, and any other illegal alien whose status has not been fully, legally settled.

This registration would be done, in person, at the local city hall, and a special card, with a photo and a biometric fingerprint, would be issued to the registrant to carry.  This registration would be kept on file by the federal government so local authorities can verify an identity through a photo and fingerprint if no card is present.

Immediately after the deadline date, an active effort to verify immigration status and apprehend unregistered illegal aliens must begin.

  1. After the deadline date, anyone entering the U.S. illegally for any reason, and anyone who has already entered but failed to register, will be arrested and summarily deported.  He will permanently forfeit any opportunity for future legal immigration.  Future attempts by that person to illegally immigrate would result in jail time in the U.S., followed by immediate deportation.  Anyone harboring or employing an unregistered illegal alien would face jail time.
  2. Anyone who entered the U.S. illegally during the six months prior to the deadline date, but who registers by the deadline date, won't be allowed to stay, but he will be allowed two months to leave the country.  He would qualify for government assistance to return home if he cannot afford to do so (flying him home is cheaper than keeping him).  This help must be requested before the two-month time limit expires, and the request will be noted in his record.  However, because he cooperated with the process and registered, he will still be allowed to apply for entry after he goes home.
  3. Aliens who can prove they entered the U.S. illegally more than six months prior to the deadline date, but who register by the deadline date, will be offered a choice:

a. If they return home within two months, they will still be allowed to apply for entry after they return home.  They also qualify for government assistance to return home if they cannot afford to do so on their own.

b. If they want to stay because of roots they've set down in the U.S. while they were here illegally, they can stay.  However, they will not be allowed to vote in any election.  They will not be eligible for Social Security, a regular driver's license, welfare, or food stamps.  They will not receive cash handouts, "free phones," or other such benefits.  These aliens can apply for legal entry while they stay, but they will start that process at the end of the line.  These aliens cannot be allowed the opportunity to "cut the line" ahead of legal immigrants who applied for citizenship, waited their turn, and obeyed U.S. law.  They will not receive any of the rights accorded to legal immigrants until they have fully completed the legal immigration process.

Note: The only exception to this "benefit ban" should be this: an illegal alien who is registered and allowed to stay may apply for a special, boldly marked "driving permit" so he can be employed and pay taxes, but not a regular driver's license.

  1. No illegal alien will be counted in the U.S. Census.  Instead, a separate tally of registered illegal aliens allowed to stay will be kept by the federal government.  The practice of adding illegal aliens to the Census for the purpose of increasing representation in Congress and adding electoral votes will be outlawed.  States caught adding illegals to their census numbers will lose federal funding.  Any illegal alien, registered or not, caught trying to be counted in the Census will be deported and lose the right to apply for citizenship later.  Any illegal alien caught trying to vote in any election, whether federal, state, or local, will be deported and lose the right to apply for citizenship later.

The corrupt politicians who've deliberately caused this crisis don't want it solved, but it must be solved.  If Republicans can take power in 2024, we need to demand that they adopt a solid plan to solve this problem and act on it immediately.

BIDEN PARTNERS WITH MEXICO TO ORCHESTRATE ANOTHER MASSIVE MEX INVASION OF DEM VOTING ILLEGALS.

https://mexicanoccupation.blogspot.com/2020/11/the-biden-amnesty-and-mexicos-planned.html

"Mexican president candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador called for mass immigration to the United States, declaring it a "human right". We will defend all the (Mexican) invaders in the American," Obrador said, adding that immigrants "must leave their towns and find a life, job, welfare, and free medical in the United States."

"Fox’s Tucker Carlson noted Thursday that Obrador has

previously proposed granting AMNESTY TO MEXICAN DRUG

CARTELS. “America is now Mexico’s social safety net, and that’s

a very good deal for the Mexican ruling class,” Carlson added."

"Many Americans forget is that our country is located against a socialist failed state that is promising to descend even further into chaos – not California, the other one. And the Mexicans, having reached the bottom of the hole they have dug for themselves, just chose to keep digging by electing a new leftist presidente who wants to surrender to the cartels and who thinks that Mexicans have some sort of “human right” to sneak into the U.S. and demographically reconquer it." KURT SCHLICHTER

As in 2016, Democrats advance a corrupt ruling-class candidate. Like the dead man Gary Ernst, Democrats want people to vote for Joe Biden so they can swap him out for Kamala Harris, already a beneficiary of voter fraud and with the exception of Xavier Becerra possibly the worst attorney general in California history.

Kamala Harris Urges Illegal Migrants to Help Elect Joe Bidenwrence Jackson / Biden

NEIL MUNRO

Sen. Kamala Harris promised Sunday to reduce detention space for migrants as she asked an illegal immigrant activist to help Joe Biden win the election.

BLOG EDITOR: WHY DIDN’T LAWYER KAMALA HARRIS TELL THE ILLEGAL TO GO HOME??? SHE’S THE ONE WHO AS ATTORNEY GENERAL OF CA DECLARED THAT NEARLY HALF THE MURDERS IN MEXIFORNIA ARE BY MEX GANGS!

“I’m undocumented … I can’t vote …What can we do during this election to help make sure that we get you elected?” asked Astrid Silva, who was brought into the United States as a child by her illegal migrant parents.

“You can tell people who can vote what life is like for you now, and what life can be like,” Vice President nominee Harris told the Nevada-based political organizer who runs the pro-amnesty Dream Big Nevada group, adding that:

We are committed to shutting down private detention centers and ending policies that have been about separating children from their parents at the border.

Harris’s comments may be a coded message to would-be illegal migrants and their supportive legal-immigrant relatives.

For example, if implemented, Harris’s promise to start “shutting down private detention centers” could cripple border enforcement. If the enforcement agency does not have commercial prisons to hold detainees prior to their asylum hearings, the agency would be forced to release waves of job-seeking migrants into the U.S. labor market.

Similarly, Harris’s promise to end “policies … about separating children” echoes the media-magnified demand by pro-migration activists that officials release migrant mothers and children when they cross the border. That demand would let migrant families freely travel to relatives — including their illegal migrant husbands and fathers — who are working illegally in the United States.

Last week in Nevada, I caught up with my friend @Astrid_NV, to discuss the Biden-Harris plan for immigration reform and how Dreamers can make a difference in this election.

If you're eligible to vote, show up at the ballot box for those who can't: https://t.co/VbrfuqVy9Ppic.twitter.com/knU2qFSYmn

Like Biden, Harris pushed the Cold War “Nation of Immigrants” claim, even though only about 10 percent of people in the United States are legal immigrants:

We want to have a president who understands we are a nation of immigrants. This is a country that was built and that has derived its strength from immigrants coming here over the generations.

Harris also tried to blur the legal and civic differences between illegal migrants, legal immigrants, and American citizens. For example, she told Silva:

Define who you are, and you tell the world who you are. Don’t let anybody ever put you in a box because they have a limited perspective on who can do what and who can be one.

[…]

We are all in this together. And so, chin up, shoulders back, right? We speak our truth and know that there will always be people applauding and supporting that even if you can’t see them at that one moment, know that there are so many of us who are supporting your leadership and the power of your voice. It’s really important.

Harris also claimed President Donald Trump vilified immigrants: “We’ve seen under the current president the kind of vitriol, the kind of hate, the vilification of immigrants in such a horrible way.”

But a Washington Post poll showed in April that Latinos are the strongest advocates for a near-total halt to legal immigration during the coronavirus epidemic and economic crash.

Biden’s 2020 plan promises to “reassert America’s commitment to asylum-seekers and refugees,” wipe out Trump’s asylum reforms, bar any deportations for 100 days, and end migration enforcement against illegal aliens unless they commit a felony.

Joe Biden’s asylum and open-border policies will destroy the American middle class by releasing millions of foreign migrants into the United States, Stephen Miller told reporters October 28. https://t.co/BaeLSIud7y

— Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) October 28, 2020

Biden also wants to let companies import more visa workers, let mayors import temporary workers, and allow an unlimited flow of foreign graduates through U.S. universities into white-collar jobs. Biden would “exempt from any cap [the] recent graduates of Ph.D. programs in STEM fields.”

Biden also wants to accelerate the inflow of chain migration migrants and dramatically accelerate the inflow of poor refugees to at least 125,000 per year.

“The influx of low wage workers from all across the world will drive down incomes, drive down wages, deplete the middle class, bankrupt Social Security, bankrupt Medicare, bankrupt Medicaid, bankrupt federal entitlements, overcrowd schools, and overcrowd every hospital in the middle of a pandemic,” White House aide Stephen Miller told reporters on October 28.

“It is an assault on reason, it is an assault on law enforcement, and it’s an assault on the very idea of having a country, having a Republic,” Miller added. “This is not about left or right or Center. This is about between having a country, or not even having a country.”

Mexican Ambassador: Let’s Restart Mass Migration into U.S.

NEIL MUNRO

The United States should reopen itself to migration, amnesties, refugee inflows, asylum seekers, and more temporary contract workers, Mexico’s ambassador to the United States said Tuesday.

BLOG EDITOR: IS IT TIME FOR MEXICO TO DO MORE FOR THEIR PEOPLE THAN EXPORT THEM TO LOOT AMERICA AND THEN VOTE DEM FOR MORE?

The U.S. immigration system “has to be based on facts and realities,” Ambassador Martha Bárcena Coqui told a forum arranged by the National Immigration Forum (NIF). She continued: ‘The facts and realities is the need to protect the most vulnerable, the need to keep open the generosity towards refugees, the need to recognize the complementarity of labor markets and demographic profiles, the need for temporary workers in the United States.”

The United States should not view migration as a security threat, she said, adding, “If you conceptualize migration as a national security issue, if you [push for] securitization of migration, and what is even worse, if you criminalize migration, then your approach always be policing, contentious [and] reduction of migration. So what we need is really to conceptualize migration …  as an economic and social and political phenomena.”

“With all due respect to Madam Ambassador, she should mind her own country’s business, not ours,” responded Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

“The Mexican ambassador is going to tell us what is in the best interest of Mexico,” responded Rosemary Jenks, policy director at NumbersUSA. “But that doesn’t mean we have to do it — we have to do what’s in the best interest of the United States. of American, of Americans and legal immigrants,” she told Breitbart News, adding:

You know we have the pandemic still raging, we have economic lockdowns still going on, we have unemployment way too high. We have underemployment way too high. We have American citizens hurting. We absolutely do not need to reopen mass immigration — and certainly don’t need to give amnesty and taxpayer benefits to people who came here illegally. If Mexico thinks its plan is to just open up its own southern borders in the hopes that America will open our southern borders, that’s just going to reignite the caravans. I hope that the Biden administration is planning for that because that’s not going to go well, and 2022 is not going to go well for Democrats.

More migrants are coming, the ambassador said, even though the coronavirus crash has blocked the northward flow for the moment:

The root causes of these migrations have [not] disappeared. On the contrary, we are seeing pent up, building pressure. People cannot move now because of the restrictions on movement because of the pandemic. But the root causes are still there, [for example], the drought in Central America  … a hurricane in Nicaragua and Honduras that have totally flooded Honduras.

The United States should amnesty many illegal migrants from all over the world, she said, and also import more migrants by accepting asylum applications at U.S. embassies, so the world’s migrants will not have to travel through Mexico. “What we would like to see, of course, is that the U.S. embassies in Central America could process even more of these requests for asylum, instead of having people crossing through Mexico and asking for asylum at the border.”

The ambassador was invited to speak by the NIF, which is a business-funded activist group that promotes cheap labor migration into jobs needed by lower-skilled Americans and by legal immigrants, and also into jobs that can be automated.

Roughly three million migrants have flooded over the southern border since the rules were loosened by Congress in 2008 and by President Barack Obama’s deputies in 2011. Trump stopped the flow in 2020, but few of the migrants — or of roughly 300,000 younger “Unaccompanied Alien Children” — have been sent home because they are being protected by pro-migrant immigration lawyers, by pro-diversity progressives, and cheap labor employers in sanctuary cities.

The Mexican government must help poor migrants travel to the U.S. border, says Mexican immigrant and Univision anchor Jorge Ramos. https://t.co/kHHU9ckxPG

— Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) October 8, 2019

The large U.S. population of illegal immigrants helps to push down wages for Americans, push disadvantaged workers out of the labor force, reduce corporate investment in technology and training, and spike corporate sales and profits. The large population also shifts the U.S. politics from a focus on Americans’ jobs and wages, and then towards a politics focused on business demands and the 1950’s claim by elites that the United States is a diverse “nation of immigrants,” not a cooperative nation for all Americans.

The flood of cheap labor that is being promoted by the ambassador would be a disaster for Americans, Jenks said. “They would absolutely destroy the employment opportunities for lower-skilled Americans, particularly for minorities and legal immigrants. It would reduce wages among the people who can least afford reduced wages and put downward pressure on everyone else’s wages. The people who would benefit from it, of course, would be the elites who can hire nannies, maids, and housekeepers, and who go stay at resorts and so on, while the rest of us suffer.”

The ambassador’s statement, Krikorian told Breitbart News, “suggests that the [President Donald] Trump really was getting Mexico to change its behavior [after 2018] and that once Trump is gone, the Mexican approach these issues will revert to form, and they will again usher large numbers of third-country illegal aliens into our country.”

But if Mexico is concerned about the migrants coming up from the South, it can take its own defense measures, said Krikorian.

“As far as refugees and asylees go, Mexico is a signatory to the U.N. Convention on these issues. Mexico is about half the population, maybe a little less, of the United States. It doesn’t take a nearly proportionate number of asylum seekers or refugees [as the United States. So, “Physician, heal thyself,” would be my first response.”

Also, Krikorian added, the ambassador may be overstating the view of the Mexican government. “Whatever the ambassador said, it is an open question whether Mexico will truly open the floodgates again. The country has its own interest in limiting this transit migration because Mexican citizens are getting sick of the migrations. And many of these people end up staying anyway, applying for asylum in Mexico, or just hanging around illegally, and that undermines the job prospects of Mexicans in the same way that it can undermine Americans’ job prospects.”

“The United States is a sovereign nation that should and can have complete control over its borders,” said Jenks. “Regardless of what our neighbors may think, our government owes it to the American people to have an immigration system that benefits America. Period. Full stop.”

It was a very good dialogue on the current situation and a way forward. Thanks to @mcbelz @DMiliband and you @anoorani for the invitation. #LTW2020 https://t.co/rm6jNBryZj

Overall, open-ended migration is praised by business and progressives partly because migrants help transfer massive wealth from American wage-earners to stockholders.

Migration moves money from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to real estate investors, and from the central states to the coastal states.

Migration also allows investors and CEOs to skimp on labor-saving technology, sideline U.S. minorities, ignore disabled peopleexploit stoop labor in the fields, shortchange labor in the cities, impose tight control and pay cuts on American professionals, corral technological innovation by minimizing the employment of American graduates, undermine labor rights, and redirect progressive journalists to cheerlead for Wall Street’s priorities and claims.

Liberal California Emigrants are Toxic

By R. Quinn Kennedy

When Arizona, a state that has historically leaned conservative, was won by Joe Biden and now-senator Mark Kelly this week, very few were taken by surprise. Extensive polling indicated Arizona was ripe for swinging liberal and in this instance, at least, the polling was correct.

https://mexicanoccupation.blogspot.com/2020/11/are-you-ready-for-bidens-blanket.html

The state of California is home to more illegal aliens than any other state in the country. Approximately one in five illegal aliens lives in California, Pew reported.

Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S.

“The Democrats had abandoned their working-class base to chase what they pretended was a racial group when what they were actually chasing was the momentum of unlimited migration”.  DANIEL GREENFIELD
