Bezos bought the original property in 2007. It has a separate guesthouse, a six-car garage and a motorcourt
Bezos' first complete property was nothing short of breathtaking, and was compromised of 'rolling lawns, a formal garden, a long, gated drive, a pool and a sunken tennis court. There is a separate guesthouse, a six-car garage and a motorcourt,' the report said.
'The house also has soaring, beamed ceilings and tile detailing, a media room, a gym, an office, a veranda, a patio for outdoor entertaining and city views.'
Along with the addition of the half-acre estate, Bezos owns 2.5 acres of land within the upscale neighborhood.
Last week, Bezos, 53, temporarily surpassed Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates as the world's richest man when his net worth reached a whopping $90billion Thursday morning.
Later on in the afternoon, a decline in Amazon's stock price brought Bezo's numbers below Gates yet again, with a net worth of $88.8billion, subsequent to Gates' at $89.8billion.
Amazon.com first launched in 1994 as a merchant of books and products, and has grown to be the world's largest and most popular online shopping retailer. It is currently the most successful Internet sales company.
Bezos is also the founder of Blue Origin, a privately funded aircraft manufacturer based in the United States.
The company constructs 'ground-breaking spaceflight systems and builds a 'culture around methodical innovation and exploration' of aerospace technologies, according to its official website.
Bezos has taken part in several other business ventures, and has funded major companies such as Airbnb, Uber, Google, Twitter and MakerBot Industries, to name a few.
