In Bernie Sanders' State of Vermont, "that giant sucking sound" is not jobs moving to Mexico — it is jobs being concocted in Montpelier. Of course, Governor Scott shields illegal immigrants working in Vermont, and Vermont provides driver's licenses to them. The capital city also grants non-citizen residents the right to vote. It is no surprise that Vermont is #1 in the country for illegal northern border crossings.
Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) said Thursday that Joe and Hunter Biden’s activity in Ukraine “goes to the heart of the matter” surrounding the upcoming impeachment trial in the Senate, and argued that GOP senators must be willing to call President Trump’s preferred witnesses, or “all hell is going to break lose.”
Appearing on Hannity, Paul stated that he believed the alleged corruption perpetrated by Hunter Biden in his role on the board of a Ukrainian gas company Burisma — while his father was overseeing official U.S. relations with Kyiv —needed to be explored.
“If the president is being accused of withholding foreign aid, and his argument is, ‘Well, we were studying corruption, and we wanted to know about corruption in Ukraine,’ and I think the Bidens are as corrupt as the day is long,” Paul argued. “No young man who is the son of a politician gets $50,000 a month who has no experience, working for a Ukrainian oligarch. You know, for goodness sakes — it smells to high heaven. It smells like corruption.”
Paul pointed to bias in the media as the reason why the issue has not been more thoroughly explored. In its Friday release of an interview with Joe Biden, The New York Times editorial board opened by saying “There is no indication that you or your son did anything wrong or were part of any corruption in Ukraine.”
“Every day on the mainstream media, they say, ‘Oh, there’s no there there. This has been investigated. There is no corruption.’ I think the American people don’t buy it,” Paul told Hannity. “Here’s the thing: Fair is fair. If they’re going to put the president through this, they’re going to have to have witnesses on both sides.”
The Kentucky Republican, who earlier this week threatened fellow Republican senators with consequences if they did not bring forward Trump-favored witnesses, reiterated his point Thursday night, saying his “fear” is that “if people play games with the witnesses . . . I think all hell is going to break lose.”
“If it turns out and the Republican base sees that this only looks like Democrat witnesses and no presidential witnesses, I guarantee that the Republican base will punish those people who set up that kind of scenario,” Paul stat
Bernie Sanders has spent over half of his 78 years in Congress. He knows it as well as anyone, and he knows that it is hopelessly corrupt — and getting worse.
The entire establishment in Washington, D.C. is corrupt, with few exceptions. The leadership, the committee chairs, minority and majority, Republican or Democrat — it makes little difference, just a matter of degree. The lobbyists, the big think-tanks, the media, the Business Roundtable and the Chamber of Commerce, they're all in on it. It's a gravy train, with enough goodies for everybody.
Bernie is not corrupt, or at least less corrupt; he's a holy warrior, on a mission to drastically change this country. His outrage at public corruption is real. But his solutions are 19th-century reactionary Marxist madness.
Joe Biden is a year younger than Bernie, but he's been part of the swamp longer, since 1972. He is, as much as any man, a creature of, by, and for the swamp. Naturally enough, he's dirty, very dirty — as Bernie well knows.
Maybe the way Bernie was ambushed by CNN at the debate on Tuesday will get him to react. CNN is part of the swamp, the establishment. The establishment took Bernie down in 2016. Is his campaign going to let it happen to him again?
Bernie never really criticized Hillary Clinton in 2016, even as she and the swamp denied him the nomination. He hasn't criticized Biden, either. But I don't think he has to. Somebody will do it for him. I suspect there will be plenty of volunteers.
Once Biden's corruption is exposed, he's going to sink like a rock, and the nomination will be Bernie's to lose.
The political disaster of Sanders in 2020 will be the last gasp of the socialist left in this country. The Democratic Party has been carrying the banner of more centralized government since Woodrow Wilson in 1912. Major successes were achieved under Roosevelt; more came under Kennedy/Johnson. The great goal is a single-payer health system, created by the federal government. Obamacare was as far as they got, and it's going to be all downhill for them from here on.
Sanders in 2020 is the end of the evolution of the modern Democratic Party, always drifting to the left, and farther left — until socialism, the end of the road.

BOMBSHELL: Book to Reveal How Biden Family Siphoned ‘Millions in Taxpayer Cash’—Hunter Biden Just the ‘Tip of the Iceberg’
A forthcoming bombshell book from publishing giant HarperCollins will reveal how five members of Joe Biden’s family—the “Biden Five”—siphoned tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer cash and guaranteed loans. And the recent scandals involving Joe and Hunter Biden, Ukraine, and Burisma are just “the tip of the iceberg,” say sources close to the publisher.
Publisher HarperCollins has the book under a strict embargo until its January 21 release. Sources with knowledge of its contents say the book will “upend official Washington,” similar to the way Schweizer’s past works like Clinton Cash and Secret Empires did when he broke the Uranium One and Biden-Burisma scandals.
Beyond the Biden revelations, Profiles in Corruption also contains chapters with breaking news on top progressive luminaries, including: Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Kamala Harris, Sherrod Brown, Eric Garcetti, and Cory Booker.
In a statement to Axios’s Mike Allen, the author described the book as “a sweeping, detailed look at how the leading figures of progressivism have leveraged the power of their positions.” The book reportedly took a year and a half to research.
Amazon’s pre-sale book description of Profiles in Corruption states: “Washington insiders operate by a proven credo: when a Peter Schweizer book drops, duck and brace for impact.”
The list of predicate crimes is extensive and includes bribery, embezzlement, fraud, theft, money laundering, and obstruction of justice.
