July 8, 2024. That’s the date RFK, Jr., by law, is entitled to Secret Service protection. Title 18 U.S.C. 3056(a)(7) states that the U.S. Secret Service is authorized to protect major Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates and their spouses, as identified by the DHS secretary, within 120 days of the general presidential election (November 5, 2024).
You would think Biden would want to help candidate RFK, Jr. After all, Democratic pundits are opining that independent candidate RFK, Jr will help Biden’s bid for a second term. Example: MSN reports, “…right now, of all the things Biden supporters need to worry about as obstacle to the incumbent’s second term, RFK Jr. is likely to become a minor consideration and perhaps even an ace in the hole.”
Conspiracy theories aside, if you, as the DHS secretary, were presented with the following how would you decide on a request for protection.
On October 25th -- an intruder, Jonathan Macht, climbed the fence at RFK, Jr’s Los Angeles home and was arrested. After being released from police custody, the trespasser returned to the home later in the day and was arrested again. According to the New York Post, Gavin de Becker & Associates, the private security firm employed by Kennedy Jr., has informed the Secret Service about “this specific obsessed individual several times in recent months and shared alarming communications he has sent to the candidate.”
On Sept. 15th -- when Mr. Kennedy was scheduled to speak at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, the LAPD reported receiving a call reporting a man who “claimed to be a U.S. Marshal” standing in front of the event venue with “a badge on [his] lapel, a gun, and a shoulder holster,” a spokesperson told the Epoch Times.
The suspect, Adrian Paul Aispuro, was charged with carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, and impersonating a law-enforcement officer.
The LAPD detective who investigated Aispuro’s case said in court testimony that the suspect, “poses a significant danger in the near future of causing personal injury to others by having access to firearms, magazines, and ammunition (The Epoch Times).”
Dennis Kucinich served as Kennedy’s campaign manager until early October 2023. He sent a letter to President Biden in September urging him to authorize Secret Service protection for Kennedy.
“The threat level to our candidate, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is increasing every day. He is not the only one in danger -- every person who attends a campaign event is at risk,” Mr. Kucinich wrote.
He added, “A specter of violence haunts our political process. Indeed, political assassinations pose a grave threat to democracy. It is not hard to imagine the civil chaos and political disintegration that could ensue with the return of the kind of assassinations of public officials and presidential candidates that marred the 1960s.”
Further, “It is astonishing that under such circumstances, you would deny Secret Service coverage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has polled more than 20 percent in the first five primary states, and whose net favorability rating exceeds both yours and Donald Trump's.”
And, “I know that you do not want to see America reeling again from the consequences of another political assassination. Therefore, I ask you in the spirit of patriotism, of fairness, and of good conscience to grant Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. the Secret Service protection that his circumstances so obviously warrant.”
On October 18th, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) sent a letter to Mayorkas, asking why Mr. Kennedy had not yet been provided protection.
The letter said, “This near assassination attempt hardly came as a surprise given that Mr. Kennedy’s original request for Secret Service protection included a 67-page report from a leading private security firm detailing a myriad of unique and well-established safety risks.”
Not long after the assassination attempt, Judicial Watch obtained records detailing the Secret Service’s denial of Kennedy’s protection request. Judicial Watch received 11 pages of Secret Service records detailing the denial of protection to presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., despite having received numerous threats from “known subjects.”
“Every presidential administration for 55 years has afforded early protection to candidates who requested it. The Biden administration is the sole outlier,” the campaign claims.
Based on events to date, there is a strong risk that lives are in imminent danger that could be prevented with a stroke of Secretary Mayorkas’ pen. Biden has the authority to instruct Mayorkas to affix his signature to the authorization, but won’t, and no one knows why, as the Biden administration is mum on so far three separate requests for protection.
Based on the history of assassinations in the Kennedy family alone it seems incomprehensible that authorization is not forthcoming. But then again, this is the same administration that is trying with all its might to prosecute a major presidential rival for specious wrongdoings.
There are nine months between now and July 8, 2024. Let’s hope and pray nothing happens to Robert F. Kennedy, his family, or his supporters at campaign events during that nine months.

An armed man was arrested by police at an event attended by Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Photos provided to The Epoch Times show the man, who was wearing a shirt with "EMS" on the back, being held in handcuffs by police officers outside the event venue in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon. Multiple police vehicles were at the scene.
As the candidate himself revealed on X, the potential assassin carried a United States Marshals badge:
I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight. The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID. He identified himself as a member of my security detail. Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest. I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response. I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection.
It is absolutely outrageous that the feds denied RFK Jr.’s request for protection last July. Via The Hill:
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Friday that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) denied his request for Secret Service protection.
“Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. But not me,” Kennedy said on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.
“Our campaign’s request included a 67-page report from the world’s leading protection firm, detailing unique and well established security and safety risks aside from commonplace death threats,” he added.
The Secret Service is authorized to protect major presidential and vice presidential candidates and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election. The Homeland Security secretary, in consultation with an advisory committee of House and Senate leadership, determines which candidates are in that “major” category.
The 2024 election, in which Kennedy is a candidate, is more than 460 days away.
Reached for confirmation, the Secret Service referred The Hill to DHS, which did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of DHS, who has lied about the border being secure and has bungled his job, bears ultimate responsibility for denying protection. But in the wake of the Secret Service declaring that it could not determine who secreted cocaine in the world’s most heavily monitored building, the White House, that agency has also lost credibility in its senior ranks.
RFK Jr.’s very name attracts assassins, and his father was killed not far from the site of the current incident. He is by a wide margin, the leading announced opponent for President Biden’s campaign, which makes him “major” by any reasonable understanding of the term.
It's almost as if assassination of an inconvenient opponent is okay with Team Biden.
A couple of weeks after being denied protection, campaign chairman Dennis Kucinich noted the rise of assassinations. He could have mentioned that a transformative former prime minister of Japan was also recently shot dead in a country where private ownerships of handguns is virtually non-existent.
Ecuador presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio who recently promised to get rid of corruption and lock up the country's drug runners, was shot and killed at a political rally in Quito, the capital.
Mr. Villavicencio, 59, was killed on Aug. 9, less than two weeks before a special presidential election. He was known for speaking out against drug gangs, and while he wasn't a front-runner, his death has caused increased concern about organized crime.
"The killing of Mr. Villavicencio proves how volatile the political climate has become," Mr. Kucinich said in a press release sent to The Epoch Times. "Yesterday the FBI confronted a man who had threatened President Biden, an incident that led to the man being shot dead by government agents."
It is time now for Sec. Mayorkas to reverse the decisi9n and provide protection for the president’s leading intra-party opponent. To stay the current course invites other potential assassins. I am deeply concerned that the current polarization invites crazed individuals to attempt to change the course of history with a bullet.

Biden Out of Step with Non-White Working Class as Democrats Champion Upper-Class Liberal Values

President Joe Biden is struggling specifically with non-white working class voters, polls show, as the White House’s attention to a green energy agenda and far-left social causes as well as its shrugging off rising crime turns them off.
In the 2020 presidential election, Biden swept critical swing states against then-President Trump with the help of non-white working class voters — those without a college degree. He won the group by a 48-point margin.
Today, a recent New York Times/Siena College poll reveals Biden is leading non-white working class voters by just 49 percent compared to Trump’s 33 percent. For comparison, former President Obama won this key group of voters by a 67-point margin in 2012.
The dropoff of support for Biden, American Enterprise Institute (AEI) senior fellow Ruy Teixeira writes, is a result of the Democrats’ embrace of Critical Race Theory (CRT) that proclaims “systemic racism” runs throughout every institution in the United States, soft-on-crime policies, a green energy agenda, and transgenderism that suggests gender is a spectrum with variations.
To come to such conclusions, Teixeira reviewed a massive survey conducted by AEI and the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) which found that on these major policy issues, non-white working class voters differed greatly from the Democrat Party’s base of upper middle class, college-educated non-white and white liberals.
On economics and cultural issues, the survey shows Biden and elected Democrats adopting a national agenda driven by college-educated liberals and few others.
In one example, 61 percent of moderate-to-conservative non-white working class voters said racism derives from individual people and not society as a whole. In contrast, 82 percent of white college-educated liberals said racism stems from American society and 78 percent of non-white college-educated liberals said the same.
“That tells you a lot about who influences the Democratic Party today and who does not,” Teixeira writes.
On transgenderism, seven in ten moderate-to-conservative non-white working class voters said sports ought to require athletes to play on teams that match their biological sex. Among non-white and white college-educated liberals, though, allowing athletes to join teams based on their so-called “gender identity” is backed by a 40-point margin.
Likewise, on the vital issue of crime, 63 percent of moderate-to-conservative non-white working class voters said police departments should be fully funded to fight crime. Meanwhile, 69 percent of non-white college-educated liberals said police funding should be moved to social services instead, as did 76 percent of white college-educated liberals.
Perhaps most surprising for Democrats is the unpopularity of the Biden administration’s rapid green energy push that could eliminate millions of American jobs in the oil and gas industry as well as in the auto industry.
Moderate-to-conservative non-white working class voters said by a 50-point margin that they want to see oil, coal, and natural gas, along with renewable energy, used in the American economy.
Conversely, 64 percent of non-white college-educated liberals said they want oil and gas banned entirely and for the United States to rely solely on renewable energy. About 66 percent of white college-educated liberals said the same.
In the last two presidential elections, in 2016 and 2020, research repeatedly found that most likely U.S. voters are populists and nationalists when it comes to the American economy and lean slightly conservative on cultural issues.
“Democrats should think very carefully if they can afford an image and policy commitments that are so unattractive to so many nonwhite working-class voters,” Teixeira writes.

NLRB Complaint: Google and Accenture Violated Labor Laws by Laying Off Contractors Who Voted to Unionize

Google parent company Alphabet and Accenture are facing allegations of violating labor laws, after about 80 Google Help subcontractors who recently voted to unionize were laid off. The workers have filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that claims the layoffs were in retaliation for the union vote.
Engadget reports that around 80 Google Help subcontractors who recently voted to unionize were fired, prompting accusations that Alphabet and Accenture violated labor laws. The Alphabet Workers Union-Communications Workers of America (AWU-CWA) has filed a complaint with the NLRB, claiming the layoffs are retaliatory and in violation of labor laws.

“When my coworkers and I announced our union with overwhelming support, Google and Accenture management refused to acknowledge us,” said general writer at Accenture and Google, Anjail Muhammad. “A few short weeks later they announced their response — that they would be laying off dozens of employees. These jobs aren’t going away though, we’re just being asked to train our replacements abroad.”
The team, primarily involved in content creation, will be reduced from 130 people to around 40. They were reportedly instructed to train replacements working from India and the Philippines.
Alphabet’s response to the situation has been to distance itself from the issue, stating that “Google does not control [the contractor’s] employment terms or working conditions” and that the situation was “a matter between them and their employer, Accenture.” The company further added that the layoffs were for savings and efficiency and no other reason, and that it “chooses its partners and staffing agencies carefully and reviews their compliance with its Supplier Code of Conduct.”
The situation has raised significant questions about the rights and protections of contract workers, especially in the tech industry, where the majority of Google’s employees have been contractors since 2018.
“We had exercised our right to organize as members of the Alphabet Workers Union-CWA in order to bring both Google and Accenture, a Google subcontractor, to the bargaining table to negotiate on several key demands, including layoff protections,” said senior writer and union member Julia Nagatsu Granstrom.
“If it’s Accenture and Google’s goal to demoralize us, they have failed,” said Casey Padron, a general writer on the team scheduled to lose her job in August. “We are more united than ever and will continue to fight for this job that so many of us love and rely on.”
