The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on
United States Taxpayers

Executive Summary
This report estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84.2 billion at the state and local level. The study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy. Those receipts do not come close to the level of expenditures and, in any case, are misleading as an offset because over time unemployed and underemployed U.S. workers would replace illegal alien workers.

Key Findings

Illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers about $113 billion a year at the federal, state and local level. The bulk of the costs — some $84.2 billion — are absorbed by state and local governments.
The annual outlay that illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers is an average amount per native-headed household of $1,117. The fiscal impact per household varies considerably because the greatest share of the burden falls on state and local taxpayers whose burden depends on the size of the illegal alien population in that locality
Education for the children of illegal aliens constitutes the single largest cost to taxpayers, at an annual price tag of nearly $52 billion. Nearly all of those costs are absorbed by state and local governments.
At the federal level, about one-third of outlays are matched by tax collections from illegal aliens. At the state and local level, an average of less than 5 percent of the public costs associated with illegal immigration is recouped through taxes collected from illegal aliens.
Most illegal aliens do not pay income taxes. Among those who do, much of the revenues collected are refunded to the illegal aliens when they file tax returns. Many are also claiming tax credits resulting in payments from the U.S. Treasury.
With many state budgets in deficit, policymakers have an obligation to look for ways to reduce the fiscal burden of illegal migration. California, facing a budget deficit of $14.4 billion in 2010-2011, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal aliens. New York’s $6.8 billion deficit is smaller than its $9.5 billion in yearly illegal alien costs.

The report examines the likely consequences if an amnesty for the illegal alien population were adopted similar to the one adopted in 1986. The report notes that while tax collections from the illegal alien population would likely increase only marginally, the new legal status would make them eligible for receiving Social Security retirement benefits that would further jeopardize the future of the already shaky system. An amnesty would also result in this large population of illegal aliens becoming eligible for numerous social assistance programs available for low-income populations for which they are not now eligible. The overall result would, therefore, be an accentuation of the already enormous fiscal burden.

Is the GOP shedding a birthright?

By E.J. Dionne Jr.
Thursday, August 5, 2010; A17

Rather than shout, I'll just ask the question in a civil way: Dear Republicans, do you really want to endanger your party's greatest political legacy by turning the 14th Amendment to our Constitution into an excuse for election-year ugliness?

Honestly, I thought that our politics could not get worse, and suddenly there appears this attack on birthright citizenship and the introduction into popular use of the hideous term "anchor babies": children whom illegal immigrants have for the alleged purpose of "anchoring" themselves to American rights and the welfare state.

Particularly depressing is that the idea of repealing the 14th Amendment's guarantee of citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" was given momentum by one of the nation's most reasonable conservatives.

"People come here to have babies," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). "They come here to drop a child. It's called, 'drop and leave.' To have a child in America, they cross the border, they go to the emergency room, have a child, and that child's automatically an American citizen. That shouldn't be the case. That attracts people here for all the wrong reasons."

Drop a child? How can a strong believer in the right to life use such a phrase?

I can't do better on this than the Cleveland Plain Dealer's estimable columnist Connie Schultz: "I have lived for more than half a century, and I have yet to meet a mother anywhere in the world who would describe the excruciating miracle of birth as 'dropping' a baby."

Graham has long favored comprehensive immigration reform, so it's hard to escape the thought that his talk of child-dropping is designed to appease a right wing out to get him because he's "too liberal."

Just as dispiriting: Sen. John McCain, another once-brave champion of immigration reform, has tried to duck the issue. McCain, facing an Arizona Republican primary challenge on Aug. 24, has said he supports "the concept of holding hearings" on the meaning of the 14th Amendment's birthright citizenship clause.

This is better than endorsing outright repeal, but what a difference from the McCain whose conscience once compelled him to say of illegal immigrants: "These are God's children as well, and they need some protections under the law, and they need some of our love and compassion."

Nothing should make Republicans prouder than their party's role in passing what are known as the Civil War or Reconstruction amendments: the 13th, ending slavery; the 14th, guaranteeing equal protection under the law and establishing national standards for citizenship; and the 15th, protecting the right to vote. In those days, Democrats were the racial demagogues.

Opponents of the 14th Amendment used racist arguments against immigrants to try to kill it, even though there were virtually no immigration restrictions back then. President Andrew Johnson played the card aggressively, as University of Baltimore law professor Garrett Epps reported in his 2006 book on the 14th Amendment, "Democracy Reborn."

"This provision comprehends the Chinese of the Pacific States, Indians subject to taxation, the people called Gipsies, as well as the entire race designated as blacks, people of color, negroes, mulattoes, and persons of African blood," Johnson declared. "Is it sound policy to make our entire colored population and all other excepted classes citizens of the United States?"

Republicans were taken aback that Gypsies were suddenly transformed into a great national peril as part of the campaign against the amendment. In his definitive book "Reconstruction," historian Eric Foner cites a bemused Republican senator who observed in 1866: "I have lived in the United States now for many a year and really I have heard more about Gypsies within the past two or three months than I have heard before in my life."

The methods of politics don't change much, even if the targets of demagoguery do.

Epps cites an 1859 oration by Carl Schurz, the German immigrant and Republican leader who helped deliver his community's vote to Abraham Lincoln in 1864. Schurz later became a leading backer of the 14th Amendment.

"All the social and national elements of the civilized world are represented in the new land," Schurz declared. In our nation, "their peculiar characteristics are to be blended together by the all-assimilating power of freedom. This is the origin of the American nationality, which did not spring from one family, one tribe, one country, but incorporates the vigorous elements of all civilized nations on earth."

That is the American tradition and the Republican tradition. Senator Graham, please don't throw it away.

Arpaio: Cartels' toughest foe

Border: Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is hated by activists for his tough enforcement of immigration law. But now a Mexican smuggling cartel has put a price on his head. T his is about big money, and Arpaio's hurting business.

To hear open borders supporters tell it, the trouble on the Arizona line is about civil rights — most specifically anti-Latino racism. Never mind that as illegal immigrants flow in, U.S. territory is being ceded to Mexican smuggling syndicates and Arizona now has the world's second-highest kidnapping rate.

But the Justice Department is more interested in civil rights suits and protestors like La Raza are more interested in amnesty.

For both, the biggest threat is Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who cracks downs on illegal immigration with intensity.

But now there's been a threat on his life, picked up from a disposable cell phone call from Mexico, most likely a cartel that smuggles illegal immigrants. Whoever it was offered a $1 million bounty to kill the U.S. lawman. Fact is, Arpaio's sweeps are a threat to the Mexican cartels and they're lashing out.

Cartels like the one in Juarez fight for smuggling routes, use technology such as YouTube to publicize their crimes and no doubt hate it when Arpaio applies the heat.

Federal officials and the Obama administration ought to take the threat to Arpaio seriously, because the Drug Enforcement Administration has already warned that Mexican cartels will soon take their war from Mexico to the U.S. and start firing at U.S. lawmen.

Arpaio's ground-level enforcement of illegal immigration violations has worked. Using the "broken windows" theory, Arpaio has attacked the small crimes that create the conditions for larger, more serious crimes to occur. This explains the cartel's fury.

Arpaio is a rare lawman who understands that Mexico's war and Arizona's are the same. His work to halt illegal immigration damages the cartels and benefits both Arizona and Mexico.

It's a war against a common enemy that should trigger a united front and a common — and merciless response.

I'm starting to have a sick feeling about prospects for American workers - but not, or not entirely, for the reasons you might think.

Yes, growth is slowing, and the odds are that unemployment will rise, not fall, in the months ahead. That's bad. But what's worse is the growing evidence that our governing elite just doesn't care - that a once-unthinkable level of economic distress is in the process of becoming the new normal.

And I worry that those in power, rather than taking responsibility for job creation, will soon declare that high unemployment is ``structural,'' a permanent part of the economic landscape - and that by condemning large numbers of Americans to long-term joblessness, they'll turn that excuse into dismal reality.

Not long ago, anyone predicting that one in six American workers would soon be unemployed or underemployed, and that the average unemployed worker would have been jobless for 35 weeks, would have been dismissed as outlandishly pessimistic - in part because if anything like that happened, policymakers would surely be pulling out all the stops on behalf of job creation.

But now it has happened, and what do we see?

First, we see Congress sitting on its hands, with Republicans and conservative Democrats refusing to spend anything to create jobs, and unwilling even to mitigate the suffering of the jobless.

We're told that we can't afford to help the unemployed - that we must get budget deficits down immediately or the ``bond vigilantes'' will send U.S. borrowing costs sky-high. Some of us have tried to point out that those bond vigilantes are, as far as anyone can tell, figments of the deficit hawks' imagination - far from fleeing U.S. debt, investors have been buying it eagerly, driving interest rates to historic lows. But the fearmongers are unmoved: Fighting deficits, they insist, must take priority over everything else - everything else, that is, except tax cuts for the rich, which must be extended, no matter how much red ink they create.

The point is that a large part of Congress - large enough to block any action on jobs - cares a lot about taxes on the richest 1 percent of the population, but very little about the plight of Americans who can't find work.

Well, if Congress won't act, what about the Federal Reserve? The Fed, after all, is supposed to pursue two goals: full employment and price stability, usually defined in practice as an inflation rate of about 2 percent. Since unemployment is very high and inflation well below target, you might expect the Fed to be taking aggressive action to boost the economy. But it isn't.

It's true that the Fed has already pushed one pedal to the metal: short-term interest rates, its usual policy tool, are near zero. Still, Ben Bernanke, the Fed chairman, has assured us that he has other options, like holding more mortgage-backed securities and promising to keep short-term rates low. And a large body of research suggests that the Fed could boost the economy by committing to an inflation target higher than 2 percent.

But the Fed hasn't done any of these things. Instead, some officials are defining success down.

For example, last week Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, argued that the Fed bears no responsibility for the economy's weakness, which he attributed to business uncertainty about future regulations - a view that's popular in conservative circles, but completely at odds with all the actual evidence. In effect, he responded to the Fed's failure to achieve one of its two main goals by taking down the goalpost.

He then moved the other goalpost, defining the Fed's aim not as roughly 2 percent inflation, but rather as that of ``keeping inflation extremely low and stable.''

In short, it's all good. And I predict - having seen this movie before, in Japan - that if and when prices start falling, when below-target inflation becomes deflation, some Fed officials will explain that that's OK, too.

What lies down this path? Here's what I consider all too likely: Two years from now unemployment will still be extremely high, quite possibly higher than it is now. But instead of taking responsibility for fixing the situation, politicians and Fed officials alike will declare that high unemployment is structural, beyond their control. And as I said, over time these excuses may turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, as the long-term unemployed lose their skills and their connections with the work force, and become unemployable.

I'd like to imagine that public outrage will prevent this outcome. But while Americans are indeed angry, their anger is unfocused. And so I worry that our governing elite, which just isn't all that into the unemployed, will allow the jobs slump to go on and on and on.

County Spends $600 Mil On Welfare For Illegal Immigrants
Last Updated: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 3:14pm
For the second consecutive year taxpayers in a single U.S. county will dish out more than half a billion dollars just to cover the welfare and food-stamp costs of illegal immigrants.
Los Angeles County, the nation’s most populous, may be in the midst of a dire financial crisis but somehow there are plenty of funds for illegal aliens. In January alone, anchor babies born to the county’s illegal immigrants collected more than $50 million in welfare benefits. At that rate the cash-strapped county will pay around $600 million this year to provide illegal aliens’ offspring with food stamps and other welfare perks.

The exorbitant figure, revealed this week by a county supervisor, doesn’t even include the enormous cost of educating, medically treating or incarcerating illegal aliens in the sprawling county of about 10 million residents. Los Angeles County annually spends more than $1 billion for those combined services, including $500 million for healthcare and $350 million for public safety.
About a quarter of the county’s welfare and food stamp issuances go to parents who reside in the United States illegally and collect benefits for their anchor babies, according to the figures from the county’s Department of Social Services. In 2009 the tab ran $570 million and this year’s figure is expected to increase by several million dollars.
Illegal immigration continues to have a “catastrophic impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers,” the veteran county supervisor (Michael Antonovich) who revealed the information has said. The former fifth-grade history teacher has repeatedly come under fire from his liberal counterparts for publicizing statistics that confirm the devastation illegal immigration has had on the region. Antonovich, who has served on the board for nearly three decades, represents a portion of the county that is roughly twice the size of Rhode Island and has about 2 million residents.
His district is simply a snippet of a larger crisis. Nationwide, Americans pay around $22 billion annually to provide illegal immigrants with welfare benefits that include food assistance programs such as free school lunches in public schools, food stamps and a nutritional program (known as WIC) for low-income women and their children. Tens of billions more are spent on other social services, medical care, public education and legal costs such as incarceration and public defenders.
Anchor Babies Grab One Quarter of Welfare Dollars in LA Co

The anchor baby scam has proven lucrative for illegal aliens in Los Angeles County, at considerable cost to our own poor and downtrodden legal citizenry.

The numbers show that more than $50 million in CalWORKS benefits and food stamps for January went to children born in the United States whose parents are in the country without documentation. This represents approximately 23 percent of the total benefits under the state welfare and food stamp programs, Antonovich said.

"When you add this to $350 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for health care, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year -- not including the millions of dollars for education," Antonovich said.

I love children and I'm all for compassion -- smart, teach-them-to-fish compassion. But when laws, the Constitution, and enforcement allow illegal aliens (the operative word here being "illegal") to insinuate themselves into our nation and bleed us of our precious financial resources, then laws, the Constitution and enforcement need to be changed.

I am so sick and tired of people using the sales tax defense for illegals. Sales tax in Sacramento is 8.75%. I make $600 a week in gross wages. I bring home $488 a week. Thats $448 a month in taxes which equals 18.6% in taxes I pay. Not to mention I also pay sales tax on everything I buy. Lets say an illegal brings home $2000 a month and all that money is used to buy taxable products (which in real life it is not), that equals $175 he pays in sales tax a month. WHile I pay $488 in payroll taxes a month PLUS the sales tax I pay. Me = $488, ILLEGAL=$175. Does this seem fair to you? On top of all this, I do not qualify for government funded anything and have NEVER been on government funded anything including unemployment. So not only do they get to keep more of their money, they get to spend more of mine in the form of government subsidies. And even if they use a stolen SSN, they are allowed by law to claim 9 exemptions, therefore have little to no payroll taxes taken out of their paycheck. What happened to things being equal? WHy is it that the people who work hard everyday are the ones being abused. Most of the time I feel like a donkey going to work everyday with a whip cracked at my back and some illegal shouting vamanos while a bunch of illegals and their children get their free food, medical, housing from my sweat and blood. Its not fair. Equality for all I say. Like Obama says everyone needs to pay their fair share.

Ben Shapiro Welcome to the Second Great Depression
Last Tuesday morning, Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner "welcomed" us to the recovery. Seriously. "[A] review of recent data on the American economy shows that we are on a path back to growth," he assured us. "The recession that began in late 2007 was extraordinarily severe, but the action we took at its height to stimulate the economy helped arrest the freefall, preventing an even deeper collapse and putting the economy on the road to recovery."

This is what we call whistling through the graveyard. It's Geithner channeling Groucho Marx circa "Duck Soup": "Who're you gonna believe? Me or your own eyes?"

The Obama administration wants us to believe them. What evidence do they provide to the effect that they "saved" the economy? Vagaries heaped upon vagaries; meaningless phrases piled atop meaningless phrases. No hard numbers of any value.

In fact, the Second Great Depression is just beginning. And just as during the First Great Depression, economic liberals are declaring that it doesn't exist. "The depression is over," President Herbert Hoover told a group of clergymen in 1930. "I am convinced," he said in 1931, "we have passed the worst and with continued effort we shall rapidly recover." In 1930, the national unemployment rate -- which was a true unemployment rate, not today's watered down version, which doesn't count people who have totally dropped out of the job market -- was 8.7 percent. In 1931, it was 15.8 percent. Today, our real unemployment rate is somewhere near 20 percent.

Hoover was wrong and so are Obama and his lackeys. And just like Hoover, Obama will take measures that are economically feasible in a strong economy but absolutely disastrous in a weak one.

After declaring the economy on the rebound, Hoover pursued three economic measures: raising tariffs, raising spending and raising taxes. Despite his personal opposition to the disastrous Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930, Hoover signed it into law, stating, "With returning normal conditions, our foreign trade will continue to expand."

He raised government spending as well; between 1929 and 1933, Hoover raised real per capita federal spending by 88 percent. He forced through the construction of the Reconstruction Finance Corp., an agency designed to lend money to banks and building and loan associations, among other businesses. "I have been called a socialist, a Bolshevik, a communist and a lot of other terms of similar nature," fumed Rep. Fiorello La Guardia (R-N.Y.), "but in the wildest flights of my imagination, I never thought of such a thing as putting the government into business as far as this bill would put it in."

Even as he raised spending, Hoover hypocritically called for tamping down the deficit. His solution: raising taxes. "Nothing will contribute more to the return of prosperity than to maintain the sound fiscal position of the federal government," he declared in 1931.

Sound familiar?

President Obama's supposedly rosy view of the economy is designed to justify further intrusion into the economy. And the measures he seeks are eerily reminiscent of Hoover's favored policies. Cap and trade, Obama's environmentalist plan, nearly started a trade war when it was merely introduced in Congress. Like Hoover, Obama opposes a carbon tariff that would level the playing field for American businesses disadvantaged by cap and trade -- and like Hoover, he has made no suggestion that he would veto cap and trade were it to include such a provision.

Obama clearly favors more spending -- in all of his talk about bringing down the deficit, he has never embraced wide-ranging cuts in federal expenditures. Rather, he attempts to blame President Bush for spending that created deficits, despite the fact that in Obama's first two years, he will have raised the national debt more than President Bush did in all eight years of his presidency.

Obama has focused, as Hoover did, on raising taxes. This week, Obama warned Republicans that he would "call them on their bluff" with regard to deficits. By that, he meant that he would push Republicans to raise taxes in order to prove their dedication to a balanced budget.

Obama justifies all of this, as Hoover did, with empty bravado about the strength of the U.S. economy. The difference between Obama and Hoover is that Obama knows that the economy remains weak. Hoover wasn't an ideologue; he was ignorant. Obama has Hoover's example to examine -- and he's willfully imitating it for redistributionist ideological reasons.

We're entering the Second Great Depression. Unlike the first one, our current administration is pushing America knowingly into the pit, all the while singing, "Happy Days Are Here Again."

ObamaCare: A Tangled Knot Around America's Throat

Bureaucratic Web: Those who wondered what was in the health care overhaul bill now have a chance to look inside. What they see is a snarl of lines, arrows and geometric shapes that will do nothing to improve medical care.
Republican Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, GOP Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas and the minority staff of the Joint Economic Committee have provided a priceless public service by creating a flow chart (below) of the federal health care system that is being created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The chart displays, in words we can't improve, "a bewildering array of new government agencies, regulations and mandates."
At the center of the new federal health care universe is the secretary of Health and Human Services, who has been granted supernational powers. Radiating from that hub are the lesser celestial objects, such as Congress in the upper right corner, the president in the upper left, and doctors in the lower left.
Patients can be found near the bottom right corner. Remember them? They were supposed to be what the health care overhaul was all about. But they've been nudged, as almost an afterthought, to the fringe of this expanding universe.
Between patients and the secretary of Health and Human Services sit galaxies of red tape, taxes, regulations, federal programs, state agencies, mandates — and thousands of bureaucrats.
But the HHS secretary does not treat patients. Doctors do. And the expanse between them, according to this chart, is vast. They are separated by a government that is growing deeper, wider and more labyrinthine, an administrative state that will ration, dilute and ineffectively manage health care.
Perhaps what is most disturbing about the chart is its size.
As imposing as it looks, it is a mere partial representation of the national health care maze forced by congressional Democrats and the White House on a country that didn't want it.
"This portrays only about one-third of the complexity of the final bill," Brady said. "It's actually worse than this."
No exaggeration there. The Congressional Research Service says it is "impossible" to tally the number of agencies, boards and commissions that the law will yield.
Government programs might be created to "help," but they fail because bureaucrats don't respond to people's needs. They respond to legislation, an entirely different goal and typically contrary to the interest of the people. Though they have built many a Rube Goldberg machine, Washington's bureaucracies simply follow the instructions of lawmakers who design programs that are too complex to work.

“If you’re in this country illegally, should you be able to get health care?” CNN’s John King asked Mrs. Pelosi.

“No, illegal immigrants are not covered by this plan,” she replied.

Mrs. Pelosi’s remarks are downright deceptive, according to Congressman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), who points out that the proposed health care legislation “ contains gaping loopholes that will allow illegal immigrants to receive taxpayer-funded benefits .”

These loopholes, Rep. Smith maintains, are “no accident.” He maintains that the proposed legislation, despite months of debate, still contains no mechanism for verifying if applicants are legal residents or not.

The Republican members of the Ways and Means Committee attempted to address this loophole by an amendment proposed by Congressman Dick Heller (R-Nevada) which would have required applicants for government provided or subsidized health care to demonstrate eligibility through the Income and Eligibility Verification System (IEVS) and the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) systems.

But, on July 29, the Heller Amendment was soundly defeated by the following 26 Majority Members of the House Ways & Means Committee: Xavier Becerra (Calif.), Shelley Berkley (Nev.), Earl Blumenauer (Ore.), Joe Crowley (N.Y.), Artur Davis (Ala.), Danny Davis (Ill.), Lloyd Doggett (Texas), Bob Etheridge (N.C.), Brian Higgins (N.Y.), Ron Kind (Wis.), John Larson (Conn.), Sander Levin (Mich.), John Lewis (Ga.), Jim McDermott (Wash.), Kendrick Meek (Fla.), Richard Neal (Mass.), Bill Pascrell (N.J.), Earl Pomeroy (N.D.), Chairman Charlie Rangel (N.Y.), Linda Sanchez (Calif.), Allyson Schwartz (Pa.), Pete Stark (Calif.), John Tanner (Tenn.), Mike Thompson (Calif.), Chris Van Hollen (Md.), and John Yarmuth (Ky.).

The Federal for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) believes the legislation is now purposefully self-contradictory in order to ensure that the millions of illegal Latinos will receive coverage. FAIR points out that while one provision of the proposed health care reform bill states illegal immigrants will not be eligible for benefits, the legislation remains without any system of verification for determining if a patient is a legal or illegal U. S. resident.

Moreover, Fair insists, the bill leaves open the possibility that if one citizen family member is eligible for benefits, then the entire family — including illegal immigrants — is also eligible for the benefits.

“At a time when the federal government is running trillion dollar deficits, and the projected costs of the proposed health care overhaul seem to grow with each passing day, the committee that writes our tax laws wants Americans to pay for the health care costs of illegal aliens,” says FAIR President Dan Stein. “Given the opportunity to close loopholes that would cost the public billions of dollars each year, Democrats on the committee unanimously rejected an amendment that would bar illegal aliens from a national health care program.”

The cost of treating illegal aliens amounts to nearly $11 billion a year, according to calculations done by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a non-profit group that opposes illegal immigration. And that cost is not expected to go away if a health insurance reform bill becomes law.

According to FAIR’s Director of Special Projects Jack Martin, illegal immigrants presently cost U. S. taxpayers $10.7 billion a year for health care. The numbers are contained in a report that FAIR plans to publish in the near future.

“The current health care bill is looking as if it is leaving a very large loophole for medical coverage being provided to illegal aliens,” Martin said.

So again, yes, the speaker of the House can say: "We've made no provision for Health Care for Illegal Aliens". But, is she in fact telling you the WHOLE truth or only half a truth. I am an independent voter and I, at this point, have my opinion. You be the judge for your own opinion.
The politics of Healthcare Reform

from the AP -

"Immigration analyst James R. Edwards Jr. reported last week in National Review that "no health legislation on the table requires federal, state or local agencies -- or private institutions receiving federal funds -- to check the immigration status of health-program applicants, so some of the money distributed via Medicaid and tax credits inevitably would go to illegal aliens." Moreover, the Senate Finance Committee plan creates a preference for illegal aliens by exempting them from the mandate to buy insurance.

That's right. Lawabiding, uninsured Americans would be fined if they didn't submit to the ObamaCare prescription.

Lawbreaking bordercrossers and deportation fugitives would be spared.

For years, advocates of uncontrolled immigration have argued that illegals aren't getting free health care, and that even if they were, they'd not be draining government budgets. The fiscal crisis in California gives lie to those talking points. In March, the Associated Press reported that Sacramento and Contra Costa counties were slashing staff and closing clinics due to the prohibitive costs of providing nonemergency health services for illegals.

"The general situation there is being faced by nearly every health department across the country, and if not right now, shortly," Robert M. Pestronk of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, told the AP."

THE BANKSTER OWNED LA RAZA LIFER POLITICIANS - The Culture of Corruption They've Built

Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters: a culture of entitlement in Congress
By Ruth Marcus
Syndicated columnist
WASHINGTON — My favorite part of the ethics report on Charlie Rangel involves his efforts to "close" a $10 million gift "to create AIG Hall" as part of the Rangel Center at the City College of New York.
Yes, that AIG.
At a meeting in April 2008, the New York Democrat, then the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, "asked AIG, at least twice, what was necessary to get this done," according to the report. The insurance giant wasn't so sure about writing the check, citing the "potential headline risk."
When AIG — the company that paid out hundreds of millions in bonuses after being rescued by a government bailout — recognizes an appearance issue, you know you've got a problem.
Unless, that is, you're Charlie Rangel. Or, for that matter, Maxine Waters, the California Democrat who this week joined Rangel in being charged with ethics violations and awaiting a public trial by the House ethics committee.
Which gets to my favorite part of the ethics report on Waters. Fast-forward a few months after Rangel's meeting with AIG, to the first weeks of September 2008. This was, to put it mildly, a busy time for then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson. The economy was tanking. Lehman Brothers was about to go down.
But when a senior member of the Financial Services Committee calls, the treasury secretary tends to listen. Waters said she had "some people in town who were important to her," Paulson recalled, and asked for a meeting with Treasury officials to discuss their concerns.
How important to her? As Waters told the Office of Congressional Ethics, which conducted the preliminary investigation of her activities, "You don't use your chits for nothing. You call when there is an important issue."
The issue broadly involved the government takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and its impact on minority-owned banks. But when Paulson's aides got to the meeting, they discovered that all but one of the banking industry participants were from one such institution: OneUnited.
On whose board Waters' husband had served until a few months earlier. In which he continued to have investments worth between $500,000 and $1 million. A fact Waters somehow neglected to mention to Paulson — although she was most certainly aware of it. As the report notes, Waters mentioned to Congressman A — better known as Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank — that "Sydney's been on the board." Frank twice advised Waters to "stay out of it."
The obvious question is: What is wrong with these people? The tempting answer: They're members of Congress.
This may sound both harsh and glib. I'm certainly not suggesting that most lawmakers are as heedless of ethics rules as Rangel and Waters appear to have been — although many members of the public appear disposed to believe so, and the seemingly endless stream of ethics revelations reinforces this misperception.
But there is something in the congressional atmosphere of compliant aides and fawning courtiers that enables and encourages their sense of ordinary-rules-don't-apply-to-me entitlement.
The longer they stay — nearly 40 years in Rangel's case, going on 20 in Waters' — and the safer their seats, the sloppier they tend to get, and the more there tends to be an unseemly merger of the personal and the official.
In Rangel's defense, his conduct appears less directly self-serving than Waters'. But to read the lengthy report is to wonder how Rangel has refused to cop a plea — especially when the recommended punishment took the relatively mild form of a reprimand.
Rangel failed to pay taxes on rental income from his Caribbean villa. He neglected to report $600,000 in income on his financial-disclosure forms. He hit up companies with business before the Ways and Means Committee for donations as high as $30 million to the Rangel Center — improperly using official letterhead and directly soliciting corporate lobbyists.
You might think he would be inclined to make it all go away as quickly as possible. But contrition does not come naturally to politicians, certainly not to Rangel. "If they're so confused after 18 months that they can't find anything, then that is a story," Rangel said in June. Several days earlier, Rangel had received the precise charges against him.
Speaking of the "very troubling" allegations against Rangel, President Obama told CBS News, "I'm sure that what he wants is to be able to end his career with dignity." It may be too late for that.

From the Desk of Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton:
Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington's "Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians" for 2009
1. Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT): This marks two years in a row for Senator Dodd, who made the 2008 "Ten Most Corrupt" list for his corrupt relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and for accepting preferential treatment and loan terms from Countrywide Financial, a scandal which still dogs him. In 2009, the scandals kept coming for the Connecticut Democrat. In 2009, Judicial Watch filed a Senate ethics complaint against Dodd for undervaluing on his Senate Financial Disclosure forms a property he owns in Ireland. Judicial Watch's complaint forced Dodd to amend the forms. However, press reports suggest the property to this day remains undervalued. Judicial Watch also alleges in the complaint that Dodd obtained a sweetheart deal for the property in exchange for his assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon (during the Clinton administration) and other favors for a long-time friend and business associate. The false financial disclosure forms were part of the cover-up. Dodd remains the head the Senate Banking Committee.

2. Senator John Ensign (R-NV): A number of scandals popped up in 2009 involving public officials who conducted illicit affairs, and then attempted to cover them up with hush payments and favors, an obvious abuse of power. The year's worst offender might just be Nevada Republican Senator John Ensign. Ensign admitted in June to an extramarital affair with the wife of one of his staff members, who then allegedly obtained special favors from the Nevada Republican in exchange for his silence. According to The New York Times: "The Justice Department and the Senate Ethics Committee are expected to conduct preliminary inquiries into whether Senator John Ensign violated federal law or ethics rules as part of an effort to conceal an affair with the wi fe of an aide…" The former staffer, Douglas Hampton, began to lobby Mr. Ensign's office immediately upon leaving his congressional job, despite the fact that he was subject to a one-year lobbying ban. Ensign seems to have ignored the law and allowed Hampton lobbying access to his office as a payment for his silence about the affair. (These are potentially criminal offenses.) It looks as if Ensign misused his public office (and taxpayer resources) to cover up his sexual shenanigans.

3. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA): Judicial Watch is investigating a $12 million TARP cash injection provided to the Boston-based OneUnited Bank at the urging of Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank. As reported in the January 22, 2009, edition of the Wall Street Journal, the Treasury Department indicated it would only provide funds to healthy banks to jump-start lending. Not only was OneUnited Bank in massive financial turmoil, but it was also "under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses, including owning a Porsche for its executives' use." Rep. Frank admitted he spoke to a "federal regulator," and Treasury granted the funds. (The bank continues to flounder despite Frank's intervention for federal dollars.) Moreover, Judicial Watch uncovered documents in 2009 that showed that members of Congress for years were aware that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were playing fast and loose with accounting issues, risk assessment issues and executive compensation issues, even as liberals led by Rep. Frank continued to block attempts to rein in the two Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs). For example, during a hearing on September 10, 2003 , before the House Committee on Financial Services considering a Bush administration proposal to further regulate Fannie and Freddie, Rep. Frank stated: "I want to begin by saying that I am glad to consider the legislation, but I do not think we are facing any kind of a crisis. That is, in my view, the two Government Sponsored Enterprises we are talking about here, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not in a crisis. We have recently had an accounting problem with Freddie Mac that has led to people being dismissed, as appears to be appropriate. I do not think at this point there is a problem with a threat to the Treasury." Frank received $42,350 in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac between 1989 and 2008. Frank also engaged in a relationship with a Fannie Mae Executive while servi ng on the House Banking Committee, which has jurisdiction over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

4. Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner: In 2009, Obama Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner admitted that he failed to pay $34,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes from 2001-2004 on his lucrative salary at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an organization with 185 member countries that oversees the global financial system. (Did we mention Geithner now runs the IRS?) It wasn't until President Obama tapped Geithner to head the Treasury Department that he paid back most of the money, although the IRS kindly waived the hefty penalties. In March 2009, Geithner also came under fire for his handling of the AIG bonus scandal, where the company used $165 million of its bailout funds to pay out executive bonuses, resulting in a massive public backlash. Of course as h ead of the New York Federal Reserve, Geithner helped craft the AIG deal in September 2008. However, when the AIG scandal broke, Geithner claimed he knew nothing of the bonuses until March 10, 2009. The timing is important. According to CNN: "Although Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told congressional leaders on Tuesday that he learned of AIG's impending $160 million bonus payments to members of its troubled financial-products unit on March 10, sources tell TIME that the New York Federal Reserve informed Treasury staff that the payments were imminent on Feb. 28. That is ten days before Treasury staffers say they first learned 'full details' of the bonus plan, and three days before the [Obama] Administration launched a new $30 billion infusion of cash for AIG." Thro w in another embarrassing disclosure in 2009 that Geithner employed "household help" ineligible to work in the United States, and it becomes clear why the Treasury Secretary has earned a spot on the "Ten Most Corrupt Politicians in Washington" list.

5. Attorney General Eric Holder: Tim Geithner can be sure he won't be hounded about his tax-dodging by his colleague Eric Holder, US Attorney General. Judicial Watch strongly opposed Holder because of his terrible ethics record, which includes: obstructing an FBI investigation into the theft of nuclear secrets from Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory; rejecting multiple requests for an independent counsel to investigate alleged fundraising abuses by then-Vice President Al Gore in the Clinton White House; undermining the criminal investigation of President Clinton by Kenneth Starr in the midst of the Lewinsky investigation; and planning the violent raid to seize then-six-year-old Elian Gonzalez at gunpoint in order to return him t o Castro's Cuba. Moreover, there is his soft record on terrorism. Holder bypassed Justice Department procedures to push through Bill Clinton's scandalous presidential pardons and commutations, including those for 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican terrorist group that orchestrated approximately 120 bombings in the United States, killing at least six people and permanently maiming dozens of others, including law enforcement officers. His record in the current administration is no better. As he did during the Clinton administration, Holder continues to ignore serious incidents of corruption that could impact his political bosses at the White House. For example, Holder has refused to investigate charges that the Obama political machine traded VIP access to the White House in exchange for campaign contributions—a scheme eerily similar to one hatched by Holder's former boss, Bill Clinton in the 1990s. The Holder Justice Department also came under fire for dropping a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. On Election Day 2008, Black Panthers dressed in paramilitary garb threatened voters as they approached polling stations. Holder has also failed to initiate a comprehensive Justice investigation of the notorious organization the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which is closely tied to President Obama. There were allegedly more than 400,000 fraudulent ACORN voter registrations in the 2008 campaign. And then there were the journalist videos catching ACORN Housing workers advising undercover reporters on how to evade tax, immigration, and child prostitution laws. Holder's controversial decisions on new rights for terrorists and his attacks on previous efforts to combat terrorism remind many of the fact that his former law firm has provided and continues to provide pro bono representation to terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. Holder's politicization of the Justice Department makes one long for the days of Alberto Gonzales.

6. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL)/ Senator Roland Burris (D-IL): One of the most serious scandals of 2009 involved a scheme by former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to sell President Obama's then-vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder. Two men caught smack dab in the middle of the scandal: Senator Roland Burris, who ultimately got the job, and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, emissaries for Jesse Jackson Jr., named "Senate Candidate A" in the Blagojevich indictment, reportedly offered $1.5 million to Blagojevich during a fundraiser if he named Jackson Jr. to Obama's seat. Three days later federal authorities arrested Blagojevich. Burris, for his part, apparently lied ab out his contacts with Blagojevich, who was arrested in December 2008 for trying to sell Obama's Senate seat. According to Reuters: "Roland Burris came under fresh scrutiny…after disclosing he tried to raise money for the disgraced former Illinois governor who named him to the U.S. Senate seat once held by President Barack Obama...In the latest of those admissions, Burris said he looked into mounting a fundraiser for Rod Blagojevich—later charged with trying to sell Obama's Senate seat—at the same time he was expressing interest to the then-governor's aides about his desire to be appointed." Burris changed his story five times regarding his contacts with Blagojevich prior to the Illinois governor appointing him to the U.S. Senate. Three of those changing explana tions came under oath.

7. President Barack Obama: During his presidential campaign, President Obama promised to run an ethical and transparent administration. However, in his first year in office, the President has delivered corruption and secrecy, bringing Chicago-style political corruption to the White House. Consider just a few Obama administration "lowlights" from year one: Even before President Obama was sworn into office, he was interviewed by the FBI for a criminal investigation of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's scheme to sell the President's former Senate seat to the highest bidder. (Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and slumlord Valerie Jarrett, both from Chicago, are also tangled up in the Blagojevich scandal.) Moreover, the Obama administration made the startling claim that the Privacy Act does not apply to the White House. The Obama White House believes it can violate the privacy rights of American citizens without any legal consequences or accountability. President Obama boldly proclaimed that "transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency," but his administration is addicted to secrecy, stonewalling far too many of Judicial Watch's Freedom of Information Act requests and is refusing to make public White House visitor logs as federal law requires. The Obama administration turned the National E ndowment of the Arts (as well as the agency that runs the AmeriCorps program) into propaganda machines, using tax dollars to persuade "artists" to promote the Obama agenda. According to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, the idea emerged as a direct result of the Obama campaign and enjoyed White House approval and participation. President Obama has installed a record number of "czars" in positions of power. Too many of these individuals are leftist radicals who answer to no one but the president. And too many of the czars are not subject to Senate confirmation (which raises serious constitutional questions). Under the President's bailout schemes, the federal government continues to appropriate or control—through fiat and threats—large sectors of the private economy, prompting conservative columnist George Will to write: "The administration's central activity—the political allocation of wealth and opportunity—is not merely susceptible to corruption, it is corruption." Government-run healthcare and car companies, White House coercion, uninvestigated ACORN corruption, debasing his office to help Chicago cronies, attacks on conservative media and the private sector, unprecedented and dangerous new rights for terrorists, perks for campaign donors—this is Obama's "ethics" record—and we haven't even gotten through the first year of his presidency.

8. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): At the heart of the corruption problem in Washington is a sense of entitlement. Politicians believe laws and rules (even the U.S. Constitution) apply to the rest of us but not to them. Case in point: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her excessive and boorish demands for military travel. Judicial Watch obtained documents from the Pentagon in 2008 that suggest Pelosi has been treating the Air Force like her own personal airline. These documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, include internal Pentagon email correspondence detailing attempts by Pentagon staff to accommodate Pelosi's numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft, as well as the speak er's 11th hour cancellations and changes. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also came under fire in April 2009, when she claimed she was never briefed about the CIA's use of the waterboarding technique during terrorism investigations. The CIA produced a report documenting a briefing with Pelosi on September 4, 2002, that suggests otherwise. Judicial Watch also obtained documents, including a CIA Inspector General report, which further confirmed that Congress was fully briefed on the enhanced interrogation techniques. Aside from her own personal transgressions, Nancy Pelosi has ignored serious incidents of corruption within her own party, including many of the individuals on this list. (See Rangel, Murtha, Jesse Jackson, Jr., etc.)

9. Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) and the rest of the PMA Seven: Rep. John Murtha made headlines in 2009 for all the wrong reasons. The Pennsylvania congressman is under federal investigation for his corrupt relationship with the now-defunct defense lobbyist PMA Group. PMA, founded by a former Murtha associate, has been the congressman's largest campaign contributor. Since 2002, Murtha has raised $1.7 million from PMA and its clients. And what did PMA and its clients receive from Murtha in return for their generosity? Earmarks—over ten million dollars in earmarks. In fact, even with all of the attention surrounding his alleged influence peddling, Murtha kept at it. Following an FBI raid of PMA's offices earlier in 2009, Murtha continued to seek congressional earmarks for PMA clients, while also hitting them up for campaign contributions. According to The Hill, in April, "Murtha reported receiving contributions from three former PMA clients for whom he requested earmarks in the pending appropriations bills." When it comes to the PMA scandal, Murtha is not alone. As many as six other Members of Congress are currently under scrutiny according to The Washington Post. They include: Peter J. Visclosky (D-IN.), James P. Moran Jr. (D-VA), Norm Dicks (D-WA.), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), C.W. Bill Young (R-FL.) and Todd Tiahrt (R-KS.). Of course rather than investiga te this serious scandal, according to Roll Call, House Democrats circled the wagons, "cobbling together a defense to offer political cover to their rank and file." The Washington Post also reported in 2009 that Murtha's nephew received $4 million in Defense Department no-bid contracts: "Newly obtained Robert Murtha mentioning his influential family connection as leverage in his business dealings and holding unusual power with the military."

10. Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY): Rangel, the man in charge of writing tax policy for the entire country, has yet to adequately explain how he could possibly "forget" to pay taxes on $75,000 in rental income he earned from his off-shore rental property. He also faces allegations that he improperly used his influence to maintain ownership of highly coveted rent-controlled apartments in Harlem, and misused his congressional office to fundraise for his private Rangel Center by preserving a tax loophole for an oil drilling company in exchange for funding. On top of all that, Rangel recently amended his financial disclosure reports, which doubled his reported wealth. (He somehow "forgot" about $1 million in assets.) And what did h e do when the House Ethics Committee started looking into all of this? He apparently resorted to making "campaign contributions" to dig his way out of trouble. According to WCBS TV, a New York CBS affiliate: "The reigning member of Congress' top tax committee is apparently 'wrangling' other politicos to get him out of his own financial and tax troubles...Since ethics probes began last year the 79-year-old congressman has given campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him." Charlie Rangel should not be allowed to remain in Congress, let alone serve as Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, and he knows it. That's why he felt the need to disburse campaign contributions to Ethics Committee members and other congressional colleagues.

Michelle Malkin Mad Maxine's Minority Fat-Cat Bankers
Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California is notorious for her high-decibel rants against corporate executives and career exploitation of identity politics. Class warfare and racial division are her two-decade-long stock and trade. She would normally be first in line (and in front of the cameras) to lambaste the very kind of Porsche-driving, luxury beach house-partying bank officials who begged her for a government handout. If they were white, that is.

But the minority fat cats who lobbied her during the fall 2008 financial meltdown represented the black-owned OneUnited Bank. They were her longtime friends, donors and fundraisers. Her husband was an investor in one of the banks that merged into OneUnited. He later served on the company's board of directors. Both Woman of the People Waters and her hubby have owned six-figure sums of OneUnited stock at various times over the past six years. Mr. Waters remained a OneUnited stockholder at the time Rep. Waters went to bat for the company. However, that indelible conflict-of-interest odor didn't stop her from intervening to arrange a high-powered meeting between OneUnited and then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and 20 of his minions, who engineered a special federal rescue of the teetering company behind closed doors.

The taxpayer price tag of this textbook case of cronyism of color? Twelve million dollars in TARP bank bailout cash.

On Monday night, the House Ethics Committee filed three charges against Waters for using her influence to gain special favors for a woefully mismanaged financial institution run by politically correct suits living high on the hog. In a nutshell: OneUnited, a "minority depository institution," was seeking a stealth government bailout after squandering nearly $52 million of its bank capital on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac preferred stock.

After the federal bailout of those troubled financial behemoths, OneUnited's securities in the government-sponsored enterprises plunged to a value estimated at less than $5 million. OneUnited initially demanded $41 million from the feds in exchange for unloading the junk stock. Truth be told, the bank was already in dire straits before the feds put Fannie/Freddie into receivership. Regulators criticized its unsound lending practices and lavish executive benefits (including fancy sports cars and a $6.4 million Santa Monica, Calif., beach house).

Only through Waters' direct intervention was OneUnited Bank able to secure an emergency meeting with Paulson and Treasury, according to the ethics probe. The Treasury Department said so itself. At the confab, Waters' pals purported to represent the 130-member "National Bankers Association." But records obtained by congressional investigators show that OneUnited Bank's legal counsel, vice president and president (the latter two are married to each other) spearheaded the meeting, directed its agenda and drafted the talking points/briefing material for Waters at her request -- so that she could "speak intelligently" about their demands.

On the Rev. Al Sharpton's national radio show on Tuesday afternoon, Waters played the persecuted champion of urban America to perfection. She claimed the meeting was arranged on behalf of all black banks in the country. Sympathizers are now framing the matter as a threat to "advocacy for black businesses" and whispering loudly about a "racial profiling" campaign against Waters, her embattled colleague Rep. Charlie Rangel and other ethically challenged members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

But congressional investigators concluded that "OneUnited's exclusive representation at the meeting" was the "cause for concern," not Waters' noble-sounding social justice agenda. Stonewalling by OneUnited top officials Robert Cooper and Kevin Cohee exacerbated the Office of Congressional Ethics' concern. As did fellow Democratic Rep. Barney Frank's ignored warning to Waters to "stay out of" the matter.

In her defense, Waters pooh-poohs the OneUnited Bank rescue as a pittance compared to the rest of the monstrous TARP bailout. She'd have a teensy bit more credibility on the fiscal responsibility front if she had opposed TARP from the start, instead of playing an instrumental role in throwing the Congressional Black Caucus' full support behind it.

As is usually the case in Washington, these alleged violations dwarf the wheeling and dealing Waters has continued to broker as an entrenched incumbent and senior member of the House Financial Services Committee. The so-called financial "reform" bill she helped shepherd is stuffed with color-coded mandates and favoritism. From "We Shall Overcome" to "Get Mine" -- ah, racial progress. - JOHN McAMNESTY PUSHES FOR TEA BAGGER SUPPORT & VOTES OF ILLEGALS!

Tea Party Distress Call

August 5, 2010

All activists, please work hard to assure that multiple copies of this distress call are received by local and national Tea Party groups and leaders from coast to coast.

Attention all Tea Party movement leaders, groups, and supporters.

We respectfully request that each of you give strong consideration to contacting the US Senate campaign of JD Hayworth to offer your endorsements and support.

We just received word that incumbent Senator John McCain is reaching out to Tea Party groups to desperately trying to find one or more groups to support his campaign. So far there are no takers, but McCain is trying to sweeten his offers.

McCain and some Tea Party elements, inside the GOP in Washington, are trying to prevent a landslide of Tea Party support coalescing around JD Hayworth's bid to unseat John McCain, in about twenty days on August 24, 2010.

While John McCain is flip flopping again on illegal immigration and talking tough about border security, McCain supports President Obama's plan to turn over 12 million illegal aliens into US Citizens and future voters.

If McCain defeats Hayworth on August 24, he will return to openly supporting Obama's immigration reform plan just as he did shortly before JD Hayworth announced his run against McCain.

All Tea Party leaders, groups, and supporters MUST REALIZE, if Senators McCain and Graham succeed in passing Obama's Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty plan, the Tea Party movement will be politically destroyed by millions of new illegal alien voters.

Many Tea Party groups are already responding due to our previous support and coalition efforts with the Tea Party movement. Many new groups are responding to my appeal in the article I released yesterday that is going viral on the web...

John McCain's Deception & Betrayal Must Be Stopped

As this call for aid courses through the veins of the Internet, Tea Party activists are fighting McCain supporters toe to toe in Arizona. Your brethren in this cause are making calls, planting yard signs in the heat, canvassing neighborhoods, attending events, and preparing to work polls for JD Hayworth! Several of them have asked ALIPAC to send out this call for aid because right now McCain is ahead by ten percentage points, but that can change rapidly in the final days.

Our team is being massively outspent by McCain's millions flowing in from Washington special interest groups that want more business as usual in DC.

JD needs votes, volunteers, endorsements, and funds!

This is the best opportunity for the Tea Party movement to show that the movement is not simply a tool of the GOP establishment and corporate lobbyist in Washington who are throwing millions of dollars behind McCain.

We need your help and we need it now.

JD Hayworth now has the backing of over 16 grass roots Tea Party groups and leaders. McCain and his vote spoiler Jim Deakin have NO TEA PARTY GROUP SUPPORT.

Whether your group is in Arizona, Florida, or Texas, you can still help. You can endorse as a group, if your state laws and tax status allows or the leader of you group can endorse Hayworth separately from the organization. This is what McCain's campaign staff is asking Tea Party leaders to do.

JD Hayworth is clearly the choice of a super majority of Tea Party groups, leaders, and supporters.

Please help us create a landslide of national Tea Party movement support for JD Hayworth and a massive and unified rebuke for big spender and illegal alien amnesty supporter John McCain.

Let us remind all Tea Party supporters that John McCain's number one ally, and proxy, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently announced the Tea Party movement would soon be meaningless and destroyed.

Those of us who have studied John McCain closely and his attempts in 2006 and 2007 to help ultra-liberal Senator Ted Kennedy pass Amnesty for illegal aliens know exactly how McCain and Graham plan to help Obama destroy the Tea Party and replace the entire Conservative base of voters with millions of beholden illegal aliens turned into welfare dependents and US Voters.

Please contact JD Hayworth's campaign as soon as possible to offer your support at

Please help us make sure this appeal for aid to all Tea Party Groups, leaders, and supporters reaches them.

John McCain's Deception & Betrayal Must Be Stopped to Save America on August 24, 2010

August 4, 2010

By William Gheen
President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC)

US Senator John McCain is the top GOP advocate for Obama's Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty legislation that would turn over 12 million illegal aliens into US citizens and voters thus destroying any future peaceful political hopes for border or immigration enforcement.

Luckily for Arizonans and all Americans, McCain's future plans can be stopped, if enough people will vote for JD Hayworth in the August 24 GOP Primary in Arizona.

Some people may not want to believe this about John McCain because he has proven to be a skillful liar, a master at deceit, and one of the dirtiest campaigners I've ever witnessed in my career in politics. McCain is everything that voters claim they dislike and he has spent millions of dollars trying to smear JD Hayworth, while marketing himself falsely as an opponent to Obama on immigration issues and a champion of border security.

During the 2008 GOP Presidential primaries, we thought that John McCain could not win because of his advocacy for Amnesty for illegal aliens in 2006 and 2007. Surely, no member of the Republican party could win a primary after being in every newspaper and on every TV in America with their arms around liberal Senators Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid pushing for an Amnesty that is opposed by 2 out of 3 Americans and well over 80% of Republican voters!

Boy were we wrong. We underestimated McCain's abilities to deceive backed by amnesty supporting media outlets and million dollar PR campaigns using TV, Radio, direct mail, and phone banks. We overestimated the memories of GOP voters and what information those voters were making their decision on. We also underestimated the political theater games that went on with other GOP candidates playing the "I'm the toughest on illegal immigration" game to split GOP voters several ways.

John McCain was immediately rebuked by GOP voters at one of his first town hall style campaign meetings when he launched his Presidential run. His campaign quickly realized, like we did, that McCain was unelectable because of his unpopular Amnesty positions. They also realized that his repeated mantra and lie of "I oppose Amnesty" was not fooling enough voters! So John McCain invents the "Secure the Borders First" slogan.

Secure the Borders first equates to a spoon full of sugar helping the lethal poison go down! Every state in America could adopt Arizona's SB 1070 and you could place 30,000 combat troops on our borders and it would all be to no avail once McCain and Obama's millions of illegal aliens displaced millions of Americans at the ballot box!

When McCain won the GOP Primary in 2008 a great scream of anguish went up from those who knew the man well.

Within a few short weeks John McCain had abandoned his "Secure The Border" language and went on the Spanish language networks promising Hispanic voters Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty. His campaign hired and deployed the despicable invasion leader Juan Hernandez who in turn went out to promise the illegals and their supporters that McCain would deliver Amnesty.

As reported on CNN's Lou Dobbs Show on September 15, 2008. John McCain not only supports Amnesty, but he both praised Obama for his support of Amnesty in 2006 and then criticized Obama for not supporting Amnesty enough in 2008!

When the dust settled, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) conducted a poll that unearthed some amazing findings. The poll found that most voters were not accurately aware of candidate positions on the issue of illegal immigration and that McCain supporters were the furthest off the mark. VIEW MORE DETAILS OF CIS POLL ABOUT MCCAIN

The CIS poll using neutral language found that only 34% of McCain voters knew McCain as "favoring eventual citizenship for illegal immigrants who meet certain requirements." By comparison, 42% of Hillary Clinton's voters knew she favored that and 52% of Obama voters knew his position.

While ALIPAC opposes any form of Amnesty, I've often said that I have more respect for liberal Democrats who are honest about their support for Amnesty, as opposed to some of the high profile Republicans like McCain who lie about their true positions!

The CIS poll not only discovered that McCain supporters were more misinformed than Obama supporters, but that many were drastically misled about McCain's positions. Of John McCain supporters, 35 percent mistakenly thought he favored enforcement that would cause illegals to return home, another 10 percent thought he wanted mass deportations, and 21 percent didn’t know his position on immigration at all.

The most important finding of the CIS poll was that only 31% of those who voted for McCain in the GOP Primary for President shared his true views about making illegal aliens into citizens and voters! Obama voters were again more true to the mark as 61% of Obama's voters shared his positions.

The McCain deception is working again in 2010, unless we all pull together and take steps to stop him!

Of course John McCain's latest flip flop from Amnesty supporter to "Border Defender" is designed to make Arizonans believe that he is listening to them and responding to their desires.

I know better because I stood outside of John McCain's US Senate office back in 2007 for over an hour. I patiently eavesdropped on his office staff and counted with a notepad as calls came in from across AZ and America against the McCain Kennedy Amnesty bill fifty to one! That's right, just like the other Senate offices reported, McCain received calls, emails, and faxes from you great citizens who took the time to speak out against the McCain Kennedy Amnesty bill (SB 2611). It was fifty against his bill to everyone one that was for it and he, John McCain refused to listen to, or represent you!

If you reelect John McCain, it will not be long until you are calling and begging McCain to oppose Amnesty again and your voice will not be heard or acknowledged by John McCain. Please trust those of us who were there fighting toe to toe for you and fighting for America in the last Amnesty battles. By the next time McCain is up for reelection, your votes will not matter much as the illegals will take control of the elections as new voters. McCain did not listen to America before and we have no reason, other than his empty promises and lies, to believe that he has changed his stance on Amnesty.

Fool us once, shame on you McCain. Fool us twice and shame on Americans who let you get away with it.

John McCain has become the poster child of how Republicans promising Amnesty to illegal aliens is a losing strategy. He promised the illegal alien supporters the moon and they still voted Obama. McCain blew the race to Obama on many occasions and while he attacks a true conservative like JD Hayworth with millions in attack ads and a slash and burn ruthlessness, McCain refused to go after Obama at all even after Obama told the nation "Learn English? You need to make sure your children learn Spanish!"

VIDEO: Obama says your kids should learn Spanish and McCain remains silent!

Yes, Obama said that as you can see in the video here on Youtube, and if John McCain had simply spoken out for the vast majority of Americans who feel immigrants should learn English, he would be President today. But McCain did not do that because both McCain and Obama are servants to the same political factions that wants Amnesty and Open Borders in America regardless of how many Americans lose their jobs, homes, health, security, and lives in the process.

A defeat for John McCain in the August 24, 2010 primary in Arizona would throw a monkey wrench into the entire Amnesty agenda in Washington. Our DC sources tell us that President Obama is short one vote for Amnesty and he is waiting on John McCain to finish duping the GOP voters in Arizona before proceeding to move forward.

The reason Amnesty has not already been pushed down the throats of the 70-80% of Americans who oppose it is because JD Hayworth is running against John McCain.

While JD may not be a flawless angel of perfection, he is a base conservative who is much more aligned with Conservative America than John McCain on most test issues especially immigration. He has enthusiastically agreed to be a champion for Americans that oppose Amnesty for illegal aliens.

JD Hayworth has made it clear he is running to stop McCain's Amnesty plans and to give Arizona voters a clear choice on the matter. Hayworth wrote a book about the perils of amnesty and illegal immigration called "Whatever It Takes" and we were very proud that he sourced our organization, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, in his book. Hayworth's campaign ads draw a clear distinction that JD Hayworth is against McCain's Amnesty plans. (VIDEO)

JD Hayworth has been endorsed by ALIPAC and the true blue illegal immigration fighters in Arizona such as Sheriff Joe Arpaio who now has a million dollar bounty on his life due to his opposition to illegal immigration. State Senator Russell Pearce, the architect of Arizona's controversial SB 1070 bill has also endorsed JD Hayworth.

JD Hayworth dedicated much of his talk radio show to opposing illegal immigration and opposing any form of Amnesty for illegal aliens. He is the clear choice for anyone who has looked into the issue of illegal immigration and what must be done to stop it.

John McCain has been the best friend illegal aliens and corrupt businesses have in the Republican Party.

Now we have news that one of the things John McCain has feared the most is happening. Although some of the national Tea Party groups have not weighed in, JD Hayworth is now the clear "Tea Party Candidate".

ALIPAC helped pave the way for JD into the Tea Party movement due to our coalition efforts in support of the Tea Parties in April and July of 2009, combined with our Tea Parties Against Amnesty arranged by ALIPAC this past Spring and November.

The JD Hayworth campaign had a press conference earlier this week, to announce that 16 Tea Party groups have now officially endorsed his campaign against John McCain. John McCain has no Tea Party group endorsements. In fact, his only Tea Party related endorsement is Sarah Palin's lukewarm endorsement because she owes him for making her his VP candidate. McCain's vote splitter spoiler candidate, Jim Deakin, eagerly posts on Facebook and other forums "I'm the Tea Party candidate" although he has no backing from Tea Party groups. (VIDEO)

Now we need to turn JD's clear advantage in the Tea Party movement into a landslide of national support flowing into his campaign in the form of donations and volunteers just like what happened with Scott Brown's campaign!

If your Tea Party group is not on the list yet, ask your leadership to contact JD Hayworth's campaign to get on board!

The beleaguered, abused, and much maligned Tea Party movement needs a lift right now, and a victory against John McCain would not only provide a morale boost but would also prove that the Tea Party is not just a front group for the GOP DC insiders like Dick Armey of Freedomworks who is a corporate lobbyist who supports the McCain Obama Amnesty plan as well as you can see this Youtube Video that we released.

Dick Armey has been working very hard behind the scenes to try and stop the Tea Party movement from coalescing around JD Hayworth because that is what his Global corporation paymasters want him to do. We know who Dick Armey really serves and it is time for all Americans to rebuke him and his buddy McCain on August 24, 2010.

Whether you like JD Hayworth like we do or not, we need every Arizona voter to understand that John McCain must be stopped and thrown out of office in the interest of national survival. GOP voters in Arizona will have very little voice or say in matters again, if McCain wins and turns those illegal aliens marching in your streets into citizens and voters who can in turn seek vengeance against all those who stood up to oppose illegal immigration and amnesty.

Arizona voters must make the right decision and I am confident they will, if we can get enough accurate information to them about John McCain before they make a terrible mistake.

Unfortunately, the latest polls show that JD Hayworth is within striking range of defeating John McCain but McCain is still ahead by over 10% points at the time of this article and approximately 47% of Arizona's GOP voters are misinformed enough to tell pollsters they plan to vote for McCain!

ALIPAC is about to launch emergency measures to do all we can to help JD Hayworth win against McCain. We have already sent in large donations and promoted JD online. We have worked hard to accurately inform Americans about John McCain, his support for Amnesty, his previous successful deceptions of primary voters, and what McCain and Obama's plans will do to destroy our borders forever. We have backed McCain's top ally, US Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) back away from the negotiating table with Obama to buy American voters just enough time to get it right at the ballot box.

I hope each of you reading this will understand our heartfelt and rational appeal.

If you are a voter in Arizona, please make the right decision by dropping any support for John McCain or his vote spoiler candidate Jim Deakin.

If you are an American who opposes illegal immigration and Amnesty then sign up for email alerts at so you can help us do our best to support JD Hayworth and defeat John McCain. You can help from any state in America by donating to JD Hayworth, traveling to Arizona to volunteer for JD Hayworth, contacting people you know in Arizona to make sure they know they must help us all by voting against McCain, or by signing up to help ALIPAC's efforts.

There is a much desired and long overdue political revolution active in America. Tea Party groups, immigration enforcement groups and many others are at the heart of it. Washington DC insiders are scrambling to protect their corrupt assets like John McCain as voters have thrown down incumbent after incumbent across America.

If John McCain wins on August 24, 2010 in Arizona the Revolution will suffer and much of our momentum will be slowed. If JD Hayworth defeats McCain, the Revolution will intensify leading to greater real change in Washington this November.

We must proceed with the faith that our fellow countrymen in Arizona are rational actors and loyal Americans who will make the right decision in this election, if we can afford to get accurate information to them about McCain's betrayal of the nation and his current and previous lies about his support for Amnesty.

Voters in Arizona must understand, if they do not throw John McCain out of office on August 24, that McCain will work to throw those borders down forever and pass Amnesty that will leave Arizonans and all Americans surrounded by an angry mob of millions illegal alien voters who are not going anywhere as the brutal violence in Mexico that is filling their streets with body parts and blood sweeps into every neighborhood in America.

On behalf of the thousands of Americans who are needlessly raped, robbed, and murdered each year due to the open borders betrayal from Washington, we must implore Arizonans to remove those responsible from office and Senator John McCain is one of those most responsible with American blood on his hands.

Obama Links Immigration Overhaul in 2010 to G.O.P. Backing
President Obama said Thursday that he would proceed with an overhaul of the immigration system this year if he could attract substantial Republican support. But a leading Republican who supports an overhaul said an immigration bill could not go forward if the president used a legislative shortcut sidestepping Republicans to pass his health care bill.
Mr. Obama spent most of the afternoon in meetings on immigration, including one with Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, and Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, who have been holding closed-door sessions over the last six months to draw up a bill to revamp the immigration system.
The White House called the meetings to show its continued interest in an immigration overhaul, an issue that has languished since last year, in advance of a rally that immigrant groups have called for March 21 in Washington. The groups, who want to see immigration legislation passed this year, have pitched the rally as a maximum show of force with a turnout, they say, of 100,000 people.
The two senators said they gave Mr. Obama a three-page outline of the huge bill they are preparing, and they asked for his help to find additional Republican sponsors in the Senate.
But Mr. Graham, in a statement, said he had told Mr. Obama “in no uncertain terms” that the immigration debate “could come to a halt for the year” if the president moved to pass health care legislation by a method known as reconciliation, which requires a majority of 51 senators instead of 60 and would in practice require no Republican votes.
The White House has been laying the groundwork for a possible reconciliation vote since losing its supermajority in January after the Massachusetts Senate election and finding no Republican support. There was no indication Thursday that Mr. Obama would reconsider that in light of Mr. Graham’s warning.
In a separate meeting, the president sat down for more than an hour with immigrant advocates, labor leaders and Roman Catholic and evangelical Christian leaders who support an overhaul that would give legal status to millions of illegal immigrants. At a press conference in Washington on Monday, representatives of some of those groups publicly denounced Mr. Obama’s immigration policies for the first time.
Most of the advocates emerged heartened from the meeting with Mr. Obama, if only because he gave them so much time. They said the president offered a sober account of the political difficulties of an immigration bill this year, coming after the protracted battle over health care. Apparently chastened by that fight, he said that an immigration overhaul could not move forward without support from Republican lawmakers lined up ahead of time, participants said.
Mr. Obama pledged to begin rallying support from Republicans, but he also called on Mr. Graham and the immigrant advocacy and business groups to focus their efforts on building bipartisan support.
Joshua Hoyt, executive director of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, said of the president after the meeting: “He remains fully committed to pass immigration reform. We had a very frank discussion about the difficulties.”
In addition to opening a path to legal status for an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants, the bill Mr. Schumer and Mr. Graham are shaping would tighten enforcement against hiring illegal immigrant workers by creating a national biometric identification card for all workers, including American citizens and legal immigrants.
The bill would also further strengthen border enforcement and create a new temporary-worker program to allow immigrants to come to work in the United States in the future.
How to manage future immigration has been one of the most contentious issues for the senators, and they asked Mr. Obama for his help in breaking the logjam.
The labor movement has remained united behind a proposal for an autonomous commission to monitor the labor markets and determine how many visas for foreign workers would be needed in a given year. Unions oppose any expanded program to allow in temporary immigrant guest workers, arguing that those programs leave immigrants vulnerable to abuse and undercut American workers.
Business groups oppose labor’s proposal, favoring an approach that would allow the markets, rather than a government agency, to determine labor demand. They also want a greatly expanded program for temporary guest workers.
While top leaders from the Service Employees International Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers, and the Unite Here unions were in the meeting with Mr. Obama, officials from the A.F.L.-C.I.O. said they were surprised and disappointed that they had not been invited.
In advance of the March 21 rally, young immigrants in several cities have been holding “coming out parties” where they disclose publicly that they do not have legal immigration status. In downtown Chicago on Wednesday, eight immigrants made such declarations. Among them was Tania Unzeuta, a 26-year-old student from Mexico, who stood by a sign that read “Undocumented and Unafraid.”

In Rep. Dan Tancredo’s district there have been more than 10,000 mortgages owned by illegals that went into foreclosure. It’s only part of the border to border crime wave perpetrated by illegals from Mexico.

Rep. Kenny Marchant Proposes Bill to use E-Verify for Mortgage Applications
Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 9:56 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA

Rep. Kenny Marchant
Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Texas) has offered the Mortgage E-Verify Act that would require a mortgagor to be verified through E-Verify when applying for a modification of a home loan owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.

"As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, I am happy to introduce my bill, the Mortgage E-Verify Act, which would require, as a condition for modification of a home mortgage loan held by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac or insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), that the mortgagor be verified under the E-Verify program," Rep. Marchant said in a press release. "My bill will potentially save millions by cutting down on fraudulent claims from illegal immigrants and protect taxpayers from subsidizing the restructuring or renegotiation mortgages of illegal immigrants."

Rep. Marchant's bill is a result of a major case in Nevada where a loan officer submitted false income and employment documentation to help illegal aliens secure FHA loans. The scam totaled $6.2 million in loans with many going into default, costing HUD nearly $2 million. The loan officer was found guilty on 32 counts of submitting false information.

"E-Verify is a fantastic program which I have supported making permanent for employers," Rep. Marchant said. "Mandating its use as a condition for home mortgage loan modifications would help eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the system and bring integrity to the process. In fact, the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement division (FinCEN) estimates that mortgage fraud increased 1,411 percent from 1997 to 2005. Furthermore, two-thirds of fraud reports in the last decade are due to falsified statements on loan documents. My bill would curb these abuses and protect the taxpayers."

No. Of Illegal Aliens On Welfare Doubles In Nevada
Last Updated: Tue, 11/03/2009 - 12:51pm
A relatively new federal program that allows illegal immigrants to use their American-born anchor babies to collect welfare for the entire family has expanded nationwide and nearly doubled in a western state that already spends hundreds of millions of dollars to provide undocumented residents with public services.
The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (TANF) was created by the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services a few years ago so that illegal aliens could get monthly welfare checks to help support the entire family. It is the only public assistance program where parents can apply in their children’s name as opposed to applying in their own. It also does not require parents to demonstrate that they are in the U.S. legally since most aren’t.
In Nevada alone, the TANF program’s caseload has grown 96% since the recession hit the state like an atomic bomb two years ago. A news report reveals that around 4,250 of the families receiving the benefit in Nevada have “mixed immigration status.” In other words, U.S. taxpayers are supporting thousands of illegal alien families because they have at least one anchor baby.
Nevada already blows a whopping $630 million a year to provide its rapidly growing illegal immigrant population with public services that should be reserved for legal U.S. residents. The Silver State spends $470 million annually to educate the children of illegal immigrants in public schools and an additional $45 million for limited English programs. Eighty five million goes to healthcare for illegal immigrants and $31 to incarcerate them.

Illegal aliens are also largely responsible for Nevada’s home foreclosure crisis, reportedly the nation’s worst. Around 5 million fraudulent mortgages nationwide are in the hands of illegal aliens, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and it is no secret that a substantial chunk of them are in Nevada.

States that border Mexico caused the meltdown (simply loans to ILLEGALS)
September 25, 2008

It’s also no accident that the vast majority of the mortgages already defaulted on or about to default come from states where illegal immigration is the most rampant. According to the New York Times: California, Arizona, Texas and Florida. It was time to scam America internally and externally.

The mortgages, with an average size of about $450,000, were Alt-A loans — the kind often referred to as liar loans, because lenders made them without the usual documentation to verify borrowers’ incomes or savings. Some of the loans came only via an on-line application with no appearance of the person getting the loan was needed. Nearly 60 percent of the loans were made in California, Florida and Arizona, where home prices rose — and subsequently fell — faster than almost anywhere else in the country.

But there’s so much more, according to blogger and journalist Michelle Malkin:

Regional reports across the country have decried the subprime meltdown’s impact on illegal immigrant “victims.” A July report showed that in seven of the 10 metro areas with the highest foreclosure rates, Hispanics represented at least one-third of the population; in two of those areas – Merced and Salinas-Monterey, Calif. – Hispanics comprised half the population. The amnesty-promoting National Council of La Raza and its Development Fund have received millions in federal funds to “counsel” their constituents on obtaining mortgages with little to no money down; the group almost succeeded in attaching a $10 million earmark for itself in one of the housing bills past this spring. ( Proving corruption in high levels of our government) our SENATORS are opperating in a Clandestine manner.

(A clandestine operation is an intelligence or military operation carried out in such a way that the operation goes unnoticed).

Come on people it is 1776 all over again. Some of the owners of the Federal Reserve live in England and Germany. The largest shareholder in the illegal stock of the Federal Reserve lives in England, by the way, this is why England's money is worth the most on earth. Gold prices are set in London each morning. The Euro is the second strongest currency followed by the USA.....we are mere puppets for paying the piper to make these people rich beyond imagination.

So, once again, U. S. citizens will pay for the lawlessness of our leaders and their friends on Wall Street. It is a very bad time for our country!

“The principal beneficiaries of our current immigration policy are affluent Americans who hire immigrants at substandard wages for low-end work. Harvard economist George Borjas estimates that American workers lose $190 billion annually in depressed wages caused by the constant flooding of the labor market at the low-wage end.” Christian Science Monitor

Obama soft on illegals enforcement

Arrests of illegal immigrant workers have dropped precipitously under President Obama, according to figures released Wednesday. Criminal arrests, administrative arrests, indictments and convictions of illegal immigrants at work sites all fell by more than 50 percent from fiscal 2008 to fiscal 2009.

The figures show that Mr. Obama has made good on his pledge to shift enforcement away from going after illegal immigrant workers themselves - but at the expense of Americans' jobs, said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the Republican who compiled the numbers from the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). Mr. Smith, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said a period of economic turmoil is the wrong time to be cutting enforcement and letting illegal immigrants take jobs that Americans otherwise would hold.
