House GOP Sen. Ted Cruz Has also said he expects Republicans to consider impeaching president Joe Biden “whether it’s justified or not” if the party retakes Congress following the 2022 Midterm elections, which is a strong possibility.

Senator Ted Cruz also said that House democrats weaponized impeachment. Ted Cruz was referring to House Democrats impeaching the former President twice.

Ted Cruz said that democrats used impeachment for for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with his policies and leadership skills . But they forgot that the more you weaponize it and turn it into a partisan cudgel, you know, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, in other words, pay back is a b**ch.

Angry Senator Ted Cruz also said there were “multiple grounds to consider for impeachment” against Biden, like his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, the numerous economic crisis the country is facing, and much like Jordan, cited the president’s failure at the southern border as the primary reason to remove him from office.

Americans are dying and losing valuable properties at the hands of illegal immigrants.

The obvious and most compelling reason is the lawlessness of President Biden’s refusal to enforce the border laws.

Biden’s decision to just defy federal immigration laws and allow over 2 million people to come here without any restrictions in direct contravention of his obligation under Article 2 of the Constitution to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.

They have been drastic increase in the number Immigrants encountered by the US border patrol agents since President Biden took office. Most immigrants are well armed, consisting of mostly cartel members who are ready to die for their course

Expert: China Is Harvesting as Many as 150,000 Organs from Concentration Camp Victims Annually

One of the world’s top experts on China’s forced organ harvesting industry told Congress on Thursday the Communist Party may be “harvesting” as many as 50,000 concentration camp victims, killing them to sell their organs, a year.

Ethan Gutmann – a senior research fellow in China studies at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and co-author of the landmark works on the subject, “Bloody Harvest” and “The Slaughter” – noted each healthy individual killed to extract his or her organs could yield two or three organs, meaning China would be selling as many as 150,000 organs from these victims.

Gutmann testified alongside several other experts – including Enver Tohti, a surgeon from East Turkistan who claims to have been forced to harvest organs from a political prisoner in 1995 – at a hearing organized by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), the chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, on Thursday titled “Forced Organ Harvesting in China: Examining the Evidence.”

The hearing followed the publication of years of evidence that China was killing healthy people to sell their organs on the black market to wealthy buyers, most recently a study published by researchers at Australian National University (ANU) in April accusing China of “execution by heart removal.”

China has built a network of upwards of 1,000 concentration camps in occupied East Turkistan, its westernmost region and home to the majority of members of the Uyghur ethnic group, in the past half-decade, using them to torture, indoctrinate, enslave, rape, and kill Uyghurs and other members of religious and ethnic minorities. Chinese officials do not deny the existence of the camps, but claim they are “vocational training centers” where indigenous people Beijing perceives as backwards learn trade skills to compete in the modern Chinese economy.

Citing interviews with concentration camps survivors, Gutmann told Congress that testimonies indicate that China screens concentration camp victims to see if their organs would be useful for transplants and those who pass the test abruptly disappear.

“There are two kinds of people who leave the camps early: The first are young people, about 18 years old. The announcement that they are ‘graduating’ is often made during lunch. Sometimes light applause is encouraged,” Gutmann explained. “‘Graduation’ is a euphemism for forced labor, often at a factory out east.”

“The second group’s average age is usually 28 or 29 – the exact stage of physical development that the Chinese medical establishment prefers for organ harvesting,” he continued. After medical tests, he noted, those chosen in this group “vanished in the middle of the night. Witness testimony from approximately twenty camps is strikingly consistent: between 2.5% to 5% annual disappearances for the 28-year-old age group.”

“If we assume that at any given time since 2017, there are approximately a million Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and Hui in the camps, my estimate is that 25,000 to 50,000 camp detainees are being harvested every year,” Gutmann explained.

“Twenty-eight-year-olds from the Xinjiang [East Turkistan] camps can be theoretically harvested for two or three organs, translating into a minimum of 50,000 organs or a maximum of 150,000 organs,” he further concluded.

Gutmann and Tohti both noted in their testimonies that Chinese airports have express lanes for shipping organs and this phenomenon appears most prominent in airports in East Turkistan. Gutmann stated that he believes he has identified at least one “probable end user near Shanghai” that connects to an airport in Aksu, East Turkistan: “First Hospital Zhejiang Province.”

“First Hospital liver transplants increased by 90 percent in 2017. Kidney transplants increased by 200 percent,” Gutmann observed.

Gutmann called for the free world to cut all ties to the Chinese transplant industry and ban Chinese doctors with ties to the industry from cooperating in any way with their Western counterparts.

“This catastrophe was created by Beijing, yet it was continuously enabled by a handful of Western doctors who thought they could ride the Chinese dragon and come back home as if everything was normal,” he testified. “I don’t know the policy mechanisms that can reverse that. But the precedent is clear. We need to abolish all Western contact with the Mainland Chinese transplant industry. No Chinese transplant surgeons in our medical journals, our universities, and our conferences. And a freeze on all sales of surgical equipment, pharmaceutical development, and testing in China.”

Tohti narrated his experience as a young surgeon in 1995, dragged to an execution site and forced to rapidly cut the heart out of a political prisoner killed in front of him. He referred to East Turkistan as “a gigantic open-top human laboratory” that he accused the Chinese of using not just for live organ harvesting, but for copious nuclear weapons tests and, potentially, bioweapons research.

“A former Colonel Ken Alibek, of the Russian Red Army laboratory in Kazakhstan reported in his book that Chinese may have tested bioweapon in Xinjiang in 1980,” Tohti noted. “I certainly remember that – that was the first year of my medical university, that many students were late for registration because of the barricade from plague and typhoid fever in southern part of Xinjiang.”

Tohti’s testimony concluded with an ominous anecdote:

In October 2017, Taipei, after I gave a talk on organ harvesting, a Taiwanese man approached me said: my brother went to Tianjing for his kidney, since he was aware of Falungong situation, that he asked his surgeon that he does not want Falun gong organs, his surgeon assured him that: now, all organs are coming from Xinjiang!

Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), who chairs the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, called for an “immediate concerted effort to stop this barbaric practice—not only in China, but also by its global enablers” at the hearing on Thursday. Smith introduced legislation last year to sanction individuals found engaging in forced organ harvesting or the traffic of organs stolen from political prisoners called the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2021. The bill would also require the State Department and Health and Human Services to provide regular annual reports on the topic so that lawmakers can properly know who to sanction and what further actions to take.

Rep. McCaul: Time for U.N. to Release Its Findings on China’s Human Rights Abuses in Xinjiang

(CNSNews.com) – The lead Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), is calling on the U.N.’s top human rights official to release a long-delayed report on Xinjiang, where the U.S. and other governments have accused China of committing rights abuses on a massive scale.

“First announced in 2018, it is time for this investigation’s findings to be made available to the world,” McCaul wrote in a letter Thursday to U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.

“Failing to release this report will send dangerous signals that the United Nations does not intend to hold the PRC accountable for well-documented human rights abuses, and it will raise serious doubts about the investigation’s independence from political pressure.”

McCaul also voiced concern that the Chinese government could use Bachelet’s upcoming trip to China “to manipulate the United Nations and promulgate lies about their atrocities against the Uyghurs and other minorities.”

Bachelet has been trying to arrange a visit, a first by U.N. high commissioner for human rights since 2005, for almost four years. The visit was finally approved in January, but some human rights advocates suspect Beijing has made it conditional on her not releasing the report.

Last September, Bachelet said the report by her department, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), was in the process of being finalized, “with a view to making it public.”

In December, an OHCHR spokesperson said the report was expected to be issued within several weeks.

But five months later, it remains unreleased, and an OHCHR spokesperson said recently it would have to be submitted to the Chinese government for its input.

The Chinese foreign ministry has stressed repeatedly that Bachelet’s visit this month is not an investigation, but one designed “to promote exchange and cooperation.”

McCaul told Bachelet he had “grave concern” about the visit.

“I am convinced that CCP [Chinese Communist Party] leadership will undermine the purpose of your visit to investigate and observe the state of human rights in the PRC,” he wrote.

He stressed the importance of “freedom of movement for the OHCHR delegation, freedom of inquiry, confidential and unsupervised contact with local populations through U.N. translators, freedom to record video and gather evidence, and complete access to PRC government documents.”

“[A]ny visit that includes less than full, unfettered, and independent investigative access will be used by the CCP to facilitate the very type of atrocities that your office was created to condemn and will diminish the credibility of your office,” he wrote.

More than 190 human rights and other organizations called on Bachelet in March to release the report immediately.

A spokesperson for the World Uyghur Congress (WUC) said in response to recent queries that it was “extremely disappointed and frustrated with the fact that the high commissioner has been withholding the report since September.”

“Although sharing the report with the country in question might be standard practice, withholding this report from the affected community is extremely regrettable,” the WUC said.

“It reflects the high commissioner’s priorities and concern in keeping the Chinese government more informed in the process than the affected community and civil society organizations.”

The OHCHR has not responded to queries about the process of providing a draft of the report to Beijing, including when this would happen, and how long China would be given to provide its response before its final public release.

‘Delay and evade’

Last five U.S. senators urged U.N. secretary general Antonio Guterres to “work with” Bachelet to release the Xinjiang report immediately.

“It is imperative that the report be released quickly and not be dependent on, nor delayed because of, a planned trip to [Xinjiang],” they wrote.

“Either of those scenarios would send a terrible message that Beijing is able to delay and evade international scrutiny of its heinous crimes by staging what will likely be a limited trip with access only to areas hand selected by the CCP.”

The appeal came from Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Chris Coons (D-Dela.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.)

China is accused of egregious abuses in Xinjiang, including incarcerating more than a million Uyghurs and other minority Muslims in camps.

It denies the allegations, saying the inhabitants of Xinjiang live “happy” lives, and describing the camps as part of a government educational and vocational program designed to “deradicalize” Islamic extremists.

In early 2021 the outgoing Trump administration determined that China had committed crimes against humanity and genocide in Xinjiang, citing the mass deprivation of liberty, torture, forced sterilization, forced labor, and “draconian restrictions on freedom of religion or belief, freedom of expression, and freedom of movement.”

The Biden administration agreed. “Genocide and crimes against humanity occurred during the year against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang,” the State Department said in its annual report on human rights, released in March last year.

Ohio Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance, running against Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), says the nation’s ruling class is interested in preserving its “managed decline” of the United States by weakening former President Trump’s tariffs on China.

During an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Daily, Vance detailed how Washington, DC, lawmakers, bureaucrats, and corporate special interests have kept the U.S. in a “managed decline” for decades while profiting for themselves.

“I use this phrase a lot on the campaign trail, managed decline,” Vance said. “It feels sometimes like our leaders are just slowly allowing the country to slip into decline and sometimes it’s hard to see and I think right now it’s very obvious.”

“This highlights one of the reasons why we need an America First trade policy, an America First supply chain policy,” Vance continued. “We’re finding out the hard way with China — they make way too much of our stuff — when they shut down their entire economy, when they shut down the country as they’re doing right now, we become affected by that.”

“This is the problem with allowing other people, people who don’t really like you that much, to make all your stuff is they actually have you by the you-know-what when they decide to shut down their economy,” he said. “… this highlights why we have to make our own stuff in this country.”

Vance also called out President Joe Biden for suggesting that he may cut U.S. tariffs on China as well as the Republicans who have lobbied the president to do so.

“Biden and a lot of Republicans have talked about weakening the tariffs on China which is one of the reasons why you started to see under President Trump some of those companies, some of that manufacturing, some of that supplies, moving back closer to home,” Vance said.

“This to me is the economic question for the next 30 years of our country: Are we going to commit to being self-sufficient and making our own things or are we going to continue to allow our entire prosperity to be held hostage by countries like China?” he continued.

“That is the issue and unfortunately far too many Republicans and of course the entire Democrat party that’s gotten rich off the way we do business with China, this is one of the things … you know managed decline is bad for normal Americans but it’s actually pretty good if you’re one of the people who’ve profited from the decline,” Vance said.

As Breitbart News reported this week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has called on the Biden administration to cut U.S. tariffs on China and return to the decades-long GOP-Democrat consensus on free trade that persisted before Trump took office.

Already, Biden has eliminated U.S. tariffs on more than 350 China-made products.

In particular, Vance said, Republicans “have to wake up” on the trade issue.

“We’re being led by people, many of whom have gotten rich by doing business with our biggest geopolitical foe, and they’re … not as worried about the lack of baby formula, they’re not worried about the fact that things are getting more and more expensive, of course, because they’ve profited greatly from what’s gone on,” Vance said. “We’ve got to reverse course.”

From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China has eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy — 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.

In Ohio, alone, at least 136,700 American jobs have been eliminated from 2001 to 2018 as a result of U.S. free trade with China. Nearly 10,000 of those jobs were outsourced in Ryan’s district.

Vance has been endorsed by Trump, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, among others.

Speaking at a recent conference, Tesla CEO Elon Musk once again spoke glowingly of Communist China and its workers, calling Americans lazy in comparison. According to Musk, America’s manufacturing sector employees are “trying to avoid going to work at all.”

Futurism reports that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently praised China again while speaking at the Financial Times‘ Future of the Car summit this week. Musk stated that he believes that the Chinese workforce is significantly harder working than Americans.

Musk stated: “I think there will be some very strong companies coming out of China. There [are] just a lot of supertalented hardworking people in China who strongly believe in manufacturing.”

He added: “They won’t just be burning the midnight oil, they will be burning the 3:00 a.m. oil, they won’t even leave the factory type of thing, whereas in America people are trying to avoid going to work at all.” Perhaps Musk is referring to the fact that the workers in his Chinese factory aren’t even allowed to go home.

In April, Musk praised and thanked the Chinese Communist government for allowing his Tesla facility in the country under a “closed-loop system,” in which employees live on the factory premises and sleep on the factory floor. The company reportedly supplied sleeping bags and a mattress to employees and instructed them to set up camp on a free area of factory floor space.

“All employees will have to take a nucleic acid test daily for the first three days, have their temperature checked twice a day and wash their hands four times a day, twice in the morning and twice again in the afternoon,” Bloomberg reported at the time.

Musk is known for pushing his workers to meet his high demands, a former Tesla manager who claimed to work directly with Musk told Business Insider in 2020: “The worst part is the toxicity that Elon creates — unrealistic stretch targets without a realistic plan in order to achieve them. It’s a culture in which, if you don’t have a solution to a problem and you don’t have that problem resolved within a few days or a week or two, you’re gone.”

Previous stories also surfaced in the past of Musk walking through Tesla facilities and firing employees over minor issues. Other employees were forbidden from calling 911 over significant injuries.

The toxic workplace culture is a hallmark of Musk’s companies including infamous brainchip company Neuralink. On the other hand, Tesla employees seeking abortions can be reimbursed for travel costs associated with ending the life of a baby.

Elon Musk’s Tesla Recalls 130K Vehicles as Touch Screens Can Go Blank

Elon Musk’s Tesla has recalled approximately 130,000 vehicles across the U.S. as the cars’ touchscreens can overheat and go blank. At the end of 2021, Tesla recalled 475,000 cars, or about half of the vehicles sold in the entire country.

TechXplore reports that Tesla is recalling 130,000 vehicles across the U.S. in yet another major recall. The reason this time relates to the vehicles’ touchscreens which can overheat and go blank. Many cars feature touch screens or digital displays, but unlike other vehicle screens which offer GPS navigation or music displays, the Tesla touch screen is responsible for many of the car’s basic functions.

Without the use of the touch screen, drivers lose access to rearview camera displays, windshield defrosters, and indicators stating whether the car is in drive, neutral, or reverse, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) state that during the fast-charging process, the central processing computers may not be sufficiently cooled and can cause the computer to lag, restart, run slowly, or appear completely blank.

Tesla reportedly plans to fix the issue via online software updates that improve temperature management for onboard computers. The company says that the problem was discovered during routine endurance testing and it has no reports o crashes or injuries but did receive 59 warranty-related claims from January to May.

This is not the first time that Tesla has been forced to recall a large number of vehicles in the U.S.  Breitbart News reported in December 2021 that Tesla was recalling 475,000 of its vehicles in the U.S. — approximately half of the vehicles it has sold in the country — to address a number of safety issues, one of which is potential front trunk latch failure which would result in the hood of the car flying up while driving and obstructing the driver’s view through the windshield.

The recalls apply to all Model 3 units sold between 2017 and 2020 and a number of Model S units. The Model 3 issue primarily relates to the car’s review camera which can be damaged by the opening and closing of the rear trunk. This can cause the camera to fail and is considered a safety problem.

The Model S issue affects the front trunk latch which appears to be prone to failure. This means that the car’s hood can fly open while driving, covering the windshield entirely. In the Model S vehicles  “the front trunk latch assembly may be misaligned, preventing the secondary hood latch from engaging,” Tesla said in an NHTSA filing.

Tesla boss and green energy advocate Elon Musk’s private jet recently took a nine-minute flight of just 31 miles, a distance easily drivable in one of his own electric vehicles.

Futurism reports that the Twitter account ElonJet, which tracks Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s flight patterns — and which Musk attempted to bribe to shut down — has revealed that the billionaire’s plane recently completed a flight of just nine minutes, covering 31 miles in the Bay Area. It isn’t known if Musk himself was aboard.

The flight left San Jose, California on Friday morning and just 9 minutes later landed in San Francisco. The information comes from automated public flight information software connected to the ElonJet Twitter account. Many were quick to criticize the billionaire who has branded himself and many of his companies as “eco-friendly.”

Last month, Musk took issue with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, stating that Gates was a hypocrite for publicly talking about climate change while holding short positions in Tesla essentially betting against the failure of the company.

Musk said that he could not take Gates’ climate change philanthropy seriously if he was shorting an electric car company. Gates discussed the situation stating: “I don’t think whether one’s short or long Tesla is a statement about your seriousness about climate change. I applaud Tesla’s role in helping with climate change.”

Musk’s private space exploration company Tesla has also been facing environmental issues as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pushed back SpaceX’s launches in Texas as the agency examines the facility’s environmental impact.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted Musk over his climate hypocrisy. Musk had tweeted his displeasure with President Donald Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord, which drew ire from many conservatives including Cruz.

Hours later, Cruz mocked Musk’s outrage, pointing out that he regularly travels around the country in his own private jet. If the billionaire CEO was so dedicated to reducing the world’s carbon output, Cruz snarked, he would choose to fly commercial planes rather than private ones.

Musk has come under fire previously for his liberal use of his private jet, which he upgraded last year from a Dassault Falcon 900 B to a Gulfstream G650 ER. It was reported in 2010 that Musk took private jets to Washington on at least 12 occasions over the course of two years to lobby the Department of Energy for a loan of $465 million, which Musk’s company Tesla was eventually granted.

Around the same time, Tesla also struck deals with the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority that made the company exempt from up to $320 million in California State sales and U.S. taxes.

WSJ: SEC Is Investigating Elon Musk over Late Disclosure of Twitter Stake

The SEC has reportedly launched a probe into Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s late disclosure last month of his large stake in Twitter, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the SEC has launched an investigation into Elon Musk’s late disclosure of his large stake in Twitter last month, a delay that allowed him to purchase more stock without alerting other Twitter shareholders to his ownership.

The SEC is reportedly probing Musk’s late submission of a public form that investors must file when they purchase more than five percent of a company’s shares. The disclosure acts as an early sign to shareholders and companies that a large investor could aim to control or exert influence over a company.

Musk made his filing on April 4, well after his stake surpassed the trigger point for disclosure. Daniel Taylor, a University of Pennsylvania accounting professor, stated that Musk likely saved more than $143 million by not reporting that his trades had crossed the five percent threshold as the share price could have been higher had the market been aware of Musk’s stake in the company.

Investors who cross the threshold are required to file a form with the SEC revealing their stake within ten days. Musk’s holdings moved past the five percent threshold on March 14, which means that he should have disclosed his stake by March 24.

After March 24, Musk purchased around $513 million of stock at prices between $38.20 and $40.31 per share, making him Twitter’s largest individual shareholder with a 9.2 percent stake in the company. As Twitter’s closing price was $49.97 on April 5, the day Musk disclosed his stake, he could have saved more than $143 million according to Dr. Taylor.

Dr. Taylor discussed the situation stating: “The case is easy. It’s straightforward. But whether they’re going to pick that battle with Elon is another question.”

Uyghur-American Religious Freedom Official Nury Turkel: China’s Genocide Is a ‘Threat’ to U.S. Sovereignty

Communist China’s genocide of the Uyghur people is a “threat” to American sovereignty through “transnational repression” of Uyghurs and the sale of slave-made products to Americans, Vice Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) Nury Turkel told SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily on Wednesday.

Turkel, the first U.S.-educated Uyghur attorney and co-founder of the Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), appeared on the program with host Alex Marlow to discuss his recently released book, No Escape: The True Story of China’s Genocide of the Uyghurs. In it, Turkel describes his early life in East Turkistan, the Uyghur homeland now occupied by China and renamed the “Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,” as well as retelling the harrowing stories of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities who escaped East Turkistan after enduring a litany of human rights atrocities including torture in concentration camps.

Turkel told Breitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow that Americans can help Uyghurs enduring a genocidal campaign at China’s hand by pressuring government officials to “fully implement the existing laws” that ban American companies from importing products manufactured through Uyghur slavery and by understanding the threat China poses to their country, beyond that which it poses to its own citizens.

“The American people need to recognize that this is about our future – lending your voice, speaking out on behalf of the Uyghurs against this criminal regime in Beijing [is] not only moral obligation, this is about our future,” Turkel said. “We have a history of speaking out when we see religious persecution, when religious liberty is under attack. And now, not only that, our sovereignty is under threat.”

“The transnational repression is here. The Chinese keep sending tainted consumer products made by our fellow human beings who are enslaved to our marketplace … products like cotton products, solar panels, electronics, PPEs, beauty products.”

Human rights researchers and state governments throughout the world have declared China’s attempts to eradicate the Uyghur ethnic group a genocide. Slavery is a critical component of that genocide, Turkel explained.
“East Turkistan is rich in natural resources: rare-earths, vegetables, fruits, cotton, and also natural gas, oil,” Turkel detailed. “Under the normal circumstances, the Uyghur homeland would have been a very rich, prosperous country.”

“There is ongoing slavery in the region, in the Uyghur homeland, because of the reasons that I mentioned – solar panels, tomatoes, food,” he continued. “More than 80 global brands have been implicated in the ongoing modern-day slavery using Uyghur forced labor.”

Turkel referred to a report published by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) titled “Uyghurs for Sale” that found at least 82 companies – many of them household names like Nike, Apple, Nintendo, BMW, and Google – had business ties to factories and suppliers using Uyghur slaves.

Turkel also detailed the use of Han Chinese “relatives” to brutalize Uyghur families. Under a program known as “Becoming Family,” the Communist Party would tear the male head of household from families, usually sending him to a concentration camp, and force the wife and children in the household to receive a Han Chinese “relative” to live with them.

“They sent at least 1 million Chinese cadres – as profiled by Professor Darren Byler in early 2019 … the story is that they take the men out of the homes first, and then bring in Han Chinese cadres [who], uninvited, sleep and eat with the woman who has no male household leader in the house to protect them,” Turkel narrated.

“In some instances, as I described in the book, they demanded sexual favors. And I’ve seen the pictures – they’re laying down in the bed of somebody else’s home uninvited, eating at their dining table uninvited,” he continued, adding that, in addition to sexually assaulting the women, the “relatives” often weaponized the children in the house against the adults.

“After they leave, they will come back in a week or two and what they do is interview children, kids. The kids are honest, they just say whatever they saw and whatever they feel,” Turkel noted, citing one example of “a kid’s honest answer [having] landed their mom into one of those camps because she was privately praying to God, continued to practice.”

The “Becoming Family” program, Turkel said, was adopted after the failure of programs to tear Uyghur children from their families and send them “to inland high schools, middle schools, to dilute or change their preference – everything from first language to future marital preference, employment.”

“That didn’t seem to really work for the state. I profiled one of the camp survivors, Mihrigul Tursun, who was sent to inland China years ago to study and become Chinese. Blue-eyed, European-looking woman, did not really fit — it didn’t work,” he noted.

Tursun was eventually imprisoned in a concentration camp and torn away from her infant triplets. Chinese authorities killed one of the children – Tursun has said she believes the baby was overfed or killed by a feeding machine, but she does not know for sure, as she was being tortured with electricity in a concentration camp when it happened. Tursun escaped to the United States and is currently an outspoken advocate for her people; Turkel details her story in No Escape.

Turkel told Marlow that Uyghur identity is a threat to the Chinese government because its values are at odds with the Communist Party’s.

“The Uyghur religion [Islam] is considered by the ruling Communist Party as a foreign religion along with Christianity and Judaism, so they essentially have a problem with Abrahamic religion,” Turkel explained, “because they are the three religions that the Chinese thought leaders and policy advisors [believe] bring in or introduce free speech and the things that the Communist Party, communist ideology reject.”

“Things as simple as loving, caring, forgiving. The communist ideology is all about revenge – all about forcing people to give up certain beliefs religious or otherwise, to adopt the communist ideology,” he concluded.
