James Comer Vows to Subpoena Biden Family Members in ‘Next Step’ of Biden Business Probe

House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) stated Tuesday that the next step in the committee’s probe into the Biden family business is to issue subpoenas to Hunter and James Biden if they fail to provide requested documents and communications relevant to the ongoing investigation of the family for tax evasion, wire fraud, and money laundering.

James has apparently not responded to Comer’s letter dated February 7, while Hunter denied the demand, claiming the committee has no legitimate oversight or legislative purpose to compel the information.

“The next step will be subpoenas,” Comer told Fox News. “We will use the subpoena power.”

“For the subpoenas to win in court, we have to give them every opportunity to supply that information to us,” Comer said. “The ball is in their court.”

Comer said his investigation into the Biden family business is legitimate because it has a legislative purpose. Hunter’s high-powered lawyers claimed Comer’s demand letter lacked a legislative purpose.

“The Democrats have been complaining about influence peddling. The Biden family has obviously been influence peddling. So we need to define what is ‘influence peddling.’ We need to make stricter ethics laws,” Comer explained. “We also need to increase disclosure laws for family members doing business overseas with our advisories while they have a relative that serves in the White House.”

“We can’t fully understand the extent of what these laws need to be until we know the exact amount of money that the Biden family took in, including from the sources,” Comer said, noting the family has made at least “tens of millions of dollars” from many business deals spanning at least 12 separate nations over the years, including when President Joe Biden was vice president.

Several members of the Biden family have engaged in influence peddling while Joe Biden was an elected official. Frank Biden, Joe Biden’s younger brother, admitted he did so while Biden was president, CNN reported.

On Tuesday, reported court documents show James Biden, Joe Biden’s older brother, secretly negotiated a $140 million settlement deal in 2012 between a U.S. company and the Saudi Arabian government because of his relationship with then-Vice President Joe Biden.

The instances of Hunter influence peddling are more well known. In multiple examples from whistleblowers, Joe Biden has been directly involved in the family business, despite claims he has not been.

According to Hunter’s “Laptop from Hell,” an email shows a proposed percentage distribution of equity in a company created for a joint venture with CEFC China Energy Co. and Hunter’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, the Biden family, and high-ranking members of the Chinese Communist Party. Sent on March 13, 2017, the proposed business venture included “10 held by H for the big guy?” Bobulinski confirmed “the big guy” was a reference to Joe Biden.

In another example of influence peddling, Hunter sent a detailed email to his business partner on April 13, 2014, about Ukraine in relation to a Ukrainian business deal. The email was found on Hunter’s “Laptop from Hell.” In April 2014, Hunter also joined the board of Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, four years before Joe Biden “bragged” he forced the firing of prosecutor Viktor Shokin in 2016 for investigating Burisma.

Despite Hunter’s lack of experience in Ukraine or the energy sector, he was paid $83,000 per month by the energy company — just weeks after his father was announced “point person” on U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine, Peter Schweizer, senior contributor at Breitbart News reported.

In 2018 and 2020, Breitbart Senior Contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer published Secret Empires and Profiles in Corruption. Each book hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and exposed how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden flew aboard Air Force Two in 2013 to China before Hunter’s firm inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China less than two weeks after the trip. Schweizer’s work also uncovered the Biden family’s other vast and lucrative foreign deals and cronyism.

Breitbart Political Editor Emma-Jo Morris’s investigative work at the New York Post on the Hunter Biden “laptop from Hell” also captured international headlines when she, along with Miranda Devine, revealed that Joe Biden was intimately involved in Hunter’s businesses, appearing even to have a 10 percent stake in a company the scion formed with officials at the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party.

Joe Biden Celebrates Tax Enforcement While Family Business Probed for Tax Evasion

President Joe Biden stated Sunday that corporations and the wealthy are finally paying “their fair share,” while he and his family are being investigated for money laundering, wire fraud, and tax evasion by House Republicans and his son is under federal investigation for tax crimes.

“Look, I’m a capitalist. But the wealthiest and biggest corporations need to pay their fair share,” Biden stated on Twitter.

Biden then celebrated the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act into law, which sets a 15 percent minimum corporate tax rate. The law also provides funding for 87,000 new IRS agents.

“Thankfully now, because of the law I signed, billion-dollar companies have to pay a minimum 15 percent in taxes,” Biden said.

Biden’s comment comes as House Republicans have begun investigating the Biden family for nine potential violations, including money laundering, wire fraud, and tax evasion.

In addition, the Justice Department is investigating Hunter for tax and gun violations. The probe, which has been ongoing for years and debated for months among Justice Department officials, also centers on the Biden family’s foreign business schemes while Joe Biden was vice president.

“I want to be clear, this is an investigation of Joe Biden,” House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) stated in November. “The Biden family’s business dealings implicate a wide range of criminality from human trafficking to potential violations of the constitution.”

“In the 218th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars or influence,” he said.

Comer’s investigations are being attacked with stonewalling tactics from Hunter and the U.S. Treasury. On Thursday, Hunter refused to provide relevant documents to the committee, citing no “legitimate legislative and oversight basis.” Comer responded with hints of compelling testimony by subpoena.

In January, the Treasury Department denied the committee’s request to disclose 150 suspicious reports flagged by U.S. banks concerning Biden family business transactions, causing the committee’s chairman to threaten a subpoena.

“It’s no surprise that Hunter Biden is trying to stonewall Congress’ oversight and hide information about Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s suspicious business practices,” the committee’s communications director, Jessica Collins, told Breitbart News.

“The American people demand transparency and oversight, not political coverups,” she noted. “The Oversight Committee will continue its oversight and use all tools at its disposal to gather information critical to our investigation and to inform legislative solutions.”

Biden's Right: His Word Means Nothing

Installed (p)Resident Joe Biden loves to make promises secured by the supposed worth of his family name.  "I give you my word as a Biden," he said back in March of 2020, "When I'm president, I will lead with science, listen to the experts and heed their advice, and always tell you the truth."  Again giving his solemn word before the 2020 mail-in ballot presidential selection, he promised both "to turn division into unity and bring us together," as well as to "be an ally of the light, not the darkness."  Just over a week ago, he declared, "My word as a Biden: I've never been more optimistic about America's future than I am today."  My goodness, if only Biden's family name possessed more value than that of Benedict Arnold's, we would be blessed with a man in the White House committed to truth, unity, spiritual guidance, and American success.  Yet Biden's name is synonymous with none of those things, is it?

Instead, the Biden family name has really stood for only two things: buffoonery and corruption.  For fifty years, Joe Biden has managed to hold onto some slice of power in D.C. as a senator, vice president, and Oval Office stooge not because he is renowned for his erudition or virtue but rather because his doltish behavior and venal character make him ideal for others to control.  Perhaps no other Washington relic has accomplished so little for the American people over such a prolonged government career or managed to harness those defects for lucrative advancement more successfully than China Joe

He is known as a serial liar, a "public servant" who has somehow managed to accrue tremendous wealth, a race-baiting opportunist, a Catholic-in-name-only, and a bought-and-paid-for politician in bed with criminal cartels and foreign foes.  In another era, Joe Biden would have been run out of his country much the same way Benedict Arnold was two and a half centuries ago; in an era when integrity, honor, fortitude, fidelity, and grit have been jettisoned for immorality, unscrupulousness, weakness, betrayal, and craven pliability, however, he is elevated to king sleazeball in a city drowning in sleaze.

Perhaps when America's Scumbucket-in-Chief gives his "word as a Biden," he is depending upon the solid reputations of notable relatives.  Alas, no.  His brother James has been repeatedly implicated in allegations of fraud and quid-pro-quo financial schemes leveraging Joe's political office as a means to advance the Biden family's interests and wealth.  His daughter Ashley struggles with sex and drug addictions, problems she has attributed in part to her memories of taking showers with her dad at a young age (no wonder Creepy Joe excuses pedophilia and transgender madness so effortlessly).  And then there is the "smartest guy" Joe claims to know — his son Hunter — whose illegal drug usesexual debauchery with prostitutesemployees, and relatives alike; gun crimes; occupation as an undeclared foreign agent; and serially-excused role as the family's point man for turning the powers of Joe's political office into seedy profit are all well known to the American people (even if habitually ignored by the corrupt Department of [in]Justice).  In any other family concerned about its reputation for probity and honor, Hunter Biden would have been cast off as some sort of uncontrollable "black sheep."  In the Biden herd, though, Hunter blends right in with his unseemly, scuzzy kin.  The Biden pedigree is made from rotten stuff — more like a pustule than a bloodline and filled with dreck, mediocrity, selfishness, pusillanimity, and unrepentant sin.

When you stop to consider how shockingly meaningless Joe's "word as a Biden" schtick really is, it actually becomes tempting to consider whether the old, fatuous fraud is ironically — and just this once — telling the American people the truth!  Perhaps when he says, "I give you my word as a Biden," he is really saying: "I give you my word as an incestuous pervert who cannot learn to keep my hands off little girls or keep from sniffing and grabbing women against their will; as a shameless liar who distorts everything, including the circumstances of my own wife and daughter's tragic deaths, when those lies induce public sympathy or are otherwise advantageous; as a plagiarist with no original thoughts or accomplishments of my own; as a lifelong racist who has had many friendships with segregationists and race hustlers while lying about having been active in the civil rights movement; as a corrupt politician who has ties to the mob and whose family has profited generously from my public office; and as a traitor to the United States who has repeatedly sold out my country for the benefit of foreign interests in Ukraine, China, and anywhere else I can make a buck."

I guess when you see how long it would take to vomit forth that mouthful of insidious nastiness, using the shorthand, "I give you my word as a Biden," just means that whatever is said next is almost certainly untrue.

Seen from that perspective, Biden's time as installed president makes a lot more sense.  When he promised to unite the country by ridding it of petty divisions, what he really meant was that he planned to exacerbate racial animosities to the best of his abilities, rub salt in old wounds to ensure intolerance festers and anguish lingers, and incite hatred among groups of Americans who would otherwise get along.  When he promised to "bring us together," he meant that he would promote propaganda reframing the J6 protest for fair elections as an "insurrection" seeking to topple the government and use that laughably fraudulent pretense as an excuse to persecute and imprison his political enemies.  When he promised to be "an ally of the light, not the darkness," he meant that he would threaten concerned parents with criminal prosecution should they resist the government's program of sexualizing childhood, encouraging bodily mutilation, brainwashing innocents with "transgender" delusions, and promoting abortion-on-demand.

When he promised to "lead with science," he meant that he would use the unscrutinized declarations of unelected government health bureaucrats with secret political agendas as a sword and shield for imposing a dictatorship of unconstitutional mandates, censorship, ephemeral freedoms, and unjust orders contrary to established law.  When he promised to "listen to the experts and heed their advice," he meant that he would further empower an already-out-of-control Deep State to police Americans' thoughts and words for alleged "misinformation" and "hate"; expand the national security surveillance State to spy on Americans' every move; and target for criminal punishment those who nonetheless insist on engaging in "wrongthink."  When he promised to "always tell you the truth," he meant that his administration would construct "politically correct" falsehoods, propagate those falsehoods through a willingly compliant and compromised State-aligned news media, vilify dissent as harmful "disinformation," and characterize contrary viewpoints as mere "conspiracy theories."

Finally, when Biden recently claimed that he has "never been more optimistic about America's future," what he meant is that he has given China permission to send spy balloons loaded with explosives across the continent; criminal cartels permission to flood America with illegal aliens; the pharmaceutical companies permission to reap windfall profits from harmful, untested, yet government-mandated products; the World Health Organization and United Nations permission to usurp U.S. sovereignty; the Federal Reserve permission to print money on our way to economic Armageddon; and the World Economic Forum permission to usher in a "great reset" of centralized control and loss of individual liberty.  Surely all that carnage is worth a relatively small finder's fee of 10%.

When Commie Joe's statements are viewed in their proper context, he is just a presidential truth-teller.  Really.  After all, he gives us his word as a Biden!

At Burisma, Hunter Biden traded on the family name to help a Serbian who wanted to run the United Nations

Apparently there was no bottom to what Hunter Biden would do to make his buddies at Burisma happy.

One of them wanted to run the United Nations

That brings us to Chuck Ross's latest Washington Free Beacon report about Biden Junior's bid to help a Serbian associate make his dreams of becoming the United Nations secretary-general come true.

He writes:

Hunter Biden enlisted then-vice president Joe Biden's national security adviser to help with a Serbian business partner’s campaign to become secretary general of the United Nations, a scheme that is now drawing scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee as it attempts to piece together Hunter Biden's web of foreign business dealings.

Hunter Biden arranged a meeting in July 2016 for Vuk Jeremic and Colin Kahl, a Pentagon official who served as then-vice president Joe Biden’s national security adviser, emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show. Jeremic, an energy executive and former Serbian foreign affairs minister, was at the time looking for American support in an upcoming vote for secretary general. Jeremic recounted that Kahl, who is now undersecretary of defense for policy and an amateur DJ, "promised" to find out more about the election.

While Jeremic’s bid for the top United Nations post was unsuccessful, his ties to Hunter Biden could shed light on the troubled presidential son’s foreign business dealings. Rep. James Comer (R., Ky.) inquired about the link in a letter to Biden on Friday as part of their sprawling probe into the Biden family’s activities in Ukraine, China, and elsewhere.

Hunter's Burisma ties to this influence-peddling operation came about in 2014 because Jeremic had a directorship at Mexico's PEMEX state oil company and Hunter on the board of Burisma in was "involved in discussions" for a partnership between the two companies. The revelations were revealed on Hunter's abandoned laptop.

One can only imagine how that conversation must have come about amid the dealmaking -- can you throw in a good word for me for your dad for me to run the United Nations as part of this partnership so we can sign the deal on the dotted line?

Obviously, Hunter was asked for a favor, and sure enough, Hunter did the favor.

Who Hunter got the Serbian the appointment with is worth looking at, too, one Colin Kahl, who served as Joe Biden's "national security advisor" during his vice presidency and who has since been implicated in a slew of dirty tricks during the Trump administration. Now that he's ensconced in power as the Defense Department's undersecretary for policy as part of the Biden administration, he's been involved in some mind-blowing incompetence as the number three guy at the Pentagon.

A couple examples of it, the first of which I summed up earlier:

His appointment to the number-three spot in the Pentagon, responsible for military-civilian affairs, last year was approved in Congress with zero Republican votes.

He not only was rejected by the GOP House members because of his foul-tempered tweets, but had been the architect of the God-awful Obama-era Iran deal, which empowered the mullahs of Iran to pursue their nuclear weapons and made them cash-rich and happy.  Like Joe Biden, whom he was "advising," Kahl had a horrible history of calling every foreign policy shot wrong, and he surpassed his record for that as he settled into his defense job.  Kahl became the policy author of the Afghanistan pullout.  He was the one who failed to plan for evacuating Americans (detailed here), leaving 9,000 Americans behind; he was the clod who ignored intelligence warnings of a mass casualty attack on one of the gates to Kabul Airport, which left 13 service members dead; and he may have been the bright bulb who decided to pull civilians out only after the military had departed the country.

The Washington Free Beacon details his incompetence here.

More recently, there was this from the Washington Examiner's Tom Rogan, dated Thursday:

In an interview with Defense News this week, Kahl offered extraordinary overconfidence that China will not attempt an invasion of Taiwan within the next two years and likely far further into the future. This bears note because U.S. military and intelligence officials increasingly do believe that Xi is likely to order an invasion before this decade is out, possibly before 2027. Their assessment is vested in intelligence reporting and comprehensive political and military analysis.

Kahl, however, is unconcerned.

"I don't see anything that indicates that [an invasion] is imminent in the next couple of years," Kahl said. Identifying China's investment in capabilities and strategies designed to counter the U.S. military within the waters west of Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines, Kahl added, "I see nothing that indicates Xi Jinping believes his military is ready to do this. Nothing."

Nothing? That's a very bold statement for someone who holds an office that must wager against unknowns. But Kahl was just getting started. Describing Beijing's calculations, Kahl observed, "I think that they understand well that the United States continues to have pretty significant overmatch in a lot of critical domains."

So Hunter's go-to guy for guys who wanted political favors, such as U.S. support for the United Nations secretary-generalship, was Colin Kahl, dirty-trickster extraordinaire, and a guy whose global-scale failures of U.S. foreign policy, ranging from the Iran deal, to the Afghanistan pullout, to the current China fiasco, are never good enough to get him fired.

Maybe this congressional investigation ought to do it though we won't hold our breath. As I argued in my piece earlier, wondering why the heck this guy still had a job:

The only thing we do know is that Biden isn't keeping this clown on staff for his talents.  He obviously has some other purpose.

Obviously, Kahl may know a lot of secrets about how the Bidens operate, ensuring that his job will always be secure. That may be a good deal for him  but it's a horrible deal for the country, far more horrid than Hunter's bid to make a Serbian oil buddy the chief of the United Nations.

One thing is sure now: Hunter's influence-peddling extended in many directions and it's not just Biden who may be implicated. "The big guy" seems to have had a lot of minions.

Exclusive: Hunter Biden Lived in Wilmington House with Classified Documents While Bagging Millions Linked to the Highest Levels of Chinese Intelligence

While addicted to drugs, cavorting with prostitutes, and making deals with businessmen tied to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence, Hunter Biden lived in the house where Joe Biden stored classified documents.

On a background-check application dated July 2018, Hunter Biden claimed that he paid $49,910 per month in rent and that his “current residence” at that time was 1209 Barley Mill Road in Wilmington, Delaware, according to a document found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop.

Hunter also listed that Wilmington address as his primary residence on at least one form of identification (his Delaware driver’s license) and used the same address as his billing address for both his personal credit card and Apple account in 2018 and 2019, a review of files from Hunter’s abandoned laptop reveals.

According to the background check document, Hunter claimed that he paid rent from March 2017 until February 2018 (11 months) at the Wilmington address leading some to wonder if he was paying rent to his father, who has owned the home since 1996. But Hunter apparently filled out the form in error.

Contrary to some reporting, Hunter Biden was not paying his father $49,910 per month; rather, that figure represents the amount Hunter was paying to rent prime office space at the prestigious House of Sweden in Washington, D.C., materials in Hunter’s laptop show.

Nevertheless, the period that Hunter claimed he was living at 1209 Barley Mill Rd (the Wilmington house where classified documents were found) overlaps with the time multiple Biden family members were taking money from foreign businessmen linked to the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intelligence apparatus.

Hunter claimed on various documents and financial statements that he lived at the Wilmington House between early 2017 and 2019—immediately following his father’s second term as vice president and as Joe Biden was gearing up for his presidential run.

Given the discovery of the classified documents at multiple unsecure locations, the timeline of the Bidens’ Chinese business deals paints a troubling picture.

Beginning in late 2015, while his father was still vice president, Hunter Biden began making plans to meet with officials from the Chinese energy company CEFC. CEFC and at least four of its principals and associates, Ye Jianming, Patrick Ho, Gongwen Dong and Jiaqi Bao, have been linked to the Chinese government and its military intelligence apparatus. Hunter once described Patrick Ho as “the fucking spy chief of China.”

Many observers viewed CEFC as a state-directed entity. CNN, for example reported in 2018:

From the yellow stars in its logo to the fact it had China in its name – a privilege normally reserved for state-owned companies – CEFC China Energy’s messaging strongly suggested state ties.

By early 2017, Hunter was directly corresponding with CEFC personnel and flew to Miami in February of that year to meet with CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming. During this trip, Ye Jianming gave Hunter a 3.16 carat diamond valued at approximately $80,000.

Photo from Hunter Biden’s laptop showing the diamond he received from the CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming.

When Hunter’s ex-wife discovered that he had obtained something of such immense value, she had her divorce attorney send an “Urgent” email seeking to determine the whereabouts of the diamond and secure the asset before Hunter could “dissipate” it. Hunter’s attorney offered a shady denial:

There is no diamond in Hunter’s possession. I don’t know where Kathleen is getting access to this information, but on this score, what your email purports below is inaccurate.

Metadata gleaned from photos of the diamond on the abandoned laptop indicate that Hunter lied about not having the diamond and he in fact had the diamond with him in Wilmington. The current location of the 3.16 carat diamond remains unknown.

After the fateful February 2017 meeting with Ye, and around the time Hunter claimed to have moved into the Wilmington house where classified documents were found, the Bidens’ business with CEFC exploded.

Nine days after Miami meeting, Hunter received two separate wire transfers of $3 million which the Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network flagged as suspicious.

CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming (Photo: CEFC)

Between April 2017 and September 2018, CEFC and its affiliates funneled millions of dollars to the Bidens (mostly to Hunter, but some of that money flowed to Joe Biden’s brother and sister-in-law, James and Sara Biden). Joe Biden met with Hunter’s business partners during this time. All the while, top secret and sensitive compartmented information documents were just lying around in unsecured locations (such as the closet of the Penn Biden Center and the Wilmington garage), easily accessible by the Bidens and their associates.

James Biden, Joe’s brother, was central to the Biden business dealings with CEFC. One of Hunter’s former business associates, Tony Bobulinski, messaged another associate, James Gilliar, on April 30, 2017, wondering “what is the deal [with] Jim Biden as he wasn’t part of the discussion and now seems a focal point.” Likely alluding to Hunter’s addictions, Gilliar replied:

[With Hunter’s] demons, [it] could be good to have [Jimmy as] a backup…he strengthens our U[nique] S[elling] P[roposition] to [the] Chinese as it looks like a truly family business. [Emphasis added]

Bobulinski met with Hunter, James, and Joe Biden for at least an hour on the evening of May 2, 2017, and he alleges that they discussed the Biden family business dealings in China with which the former vice president was “plainly familiar.”

On May 13, 2017, Gilliar emailed Bobulinski an equity breakdown of a new business venture involving CEFC wherein Gilliar proposed Hunter will hold a 20 percent equity stake and 10 percent will be held by Hunter for “the big guy.” Tony Bobulinski alleges that Joe Biden is the big guy.

According to messages Bobulinski provided to congressional investigators, Hunter claimed he talked to Ye on a “regular basis” because “we have a standing once a week call as I am also his personal counsel (we signed an attorney client engagement letter) in the U.S.” Hunter also claimed he was advising Ye “on a number of his personal issues (staff visas and some more sensitive things).”

The chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, has been linked to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence and CNN reported that Ye was a suspected “princeling” of People’s Liberation Army top brass.

In their summer 2017 correspondences, Hunter sent “best wishes from the entire Biden family” and Ye concluded his reply “please accept my best regards to you and your family.”

Between February 9, 2017, and December 20,2018, tens of millions—perhaps more than $150 million—flowed between a dizzying web of CEFC-linked companies and shell corporations. And some of that money went directly into Biden family coffers.

On August 8, 2017, CEFC wired $5 million to an entity called Hudson West III. That same day, Hudson West began wiring payments that would ultimately total $4,790,375.25 to Hunter Biden’s Owasco LLC. The last payment was on September 25, 2018, according to congressional investigators. Between August 14, 2017, and August 3, 2018, Owasco sent 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 to James and his wife Sara Biden’s consulting firm.

The following photo retrieved from Hunter Biden’s hard drive appears to show a flow chart describing the ownership breakdown of Hudson West.

Throughout the summer of 2017, as the CEFC arrangements were being hashed out, Hunter talked with Ye Jianming about the impending legal troubles of another CEFC principal, Patrick Ho (the “spy chief”).

In September 2017, Hunter agreed to represent Ho and executed an agreement to provide “Counsel to matters related to US law and advice pertaining to the hiring and legal analysis of any US Law Firm or Lawyer.” Hunter was ultimately paid $1 million through his Owasco LLC (the wire transfer memo line read “Dr Patrick Ho Chi Ping Representation”) to represent Ho.

Patrick Ho was arrested on November 18, 2017 and he was convicted in December 2018 on international bribery and money laundering charges, according to the New York Times. Upon incarceration, Ho’s first phone call from jail was to James Biden. He was looking for Hunter and James Biden gave him Hunter’s contact information.

Notably, Hunter Biden had never been a serious attorney, so his receiving one million dollars to represent Ho is notable given that Hunter was apparently living in a house with classified documents at the time.

The same month that Hunter executed the representation agreement for the Patrick Ho matter, September 2017, CEFC-linked companies provided three separate credit cards for Hunter, James, and Sara Biden. These credit cards allowed the Bidens to go on extravagant shopping sprees and the racked up more than $100,000 in purchases.

Also in September 2017, Hunter Biden leased the plush office space at the House of Sweden for an entity called the Biden Foundation and for a CEFC branch. A September 2017 email shows Hunter requesting keys to the building for Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Jim Biden, and “Chairman Ye CEFC emissary.” It was here that he paid $49,910 per month. in rent.

And it was at this time that Hunter claimed 1209 Barley Mill Road as his residence. That home, owned by Joe and Jill Biden, is where Joe Biden kept the sensitive documents next to his Corvette in the garage (“so it’s not like [these classified documents] were just sitting in the street,” Biden said in his own defense last week).

By spring 2018, the business with CEFC was beginning to fall apart. Patrick Ho was tainted by his international bribery charges and Ye Jianming was under investigation in China for “suspected economic crimes,” and had essentially vanished after detention by CCP officials.

In a now famous January 2019 text message, Hunter complained to his daughter Naomi that Joe Biden (whom the family called “Pop”) had demanded half his (Hunter’s) salary for decades:

I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family [for] 30 years. It’s really hard. But don’t worry unlike Pop I won’t make you give me half your salary.

Joe Biden benefitted from Hunter’s business dealings which helped to finance father’s monthly bills, paid for repairs to the Barley Mill road estate in Wilmington, and bankrolled the office space for Joe and Jill Biden’s foundation at the pricey House of Sweden complex.

My colleague Peter Schweizer’s runaway bestseller, Red Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, first revealed that the Biden family received some $31 million from the highest levels of Chinese intelligence at the same time Hunter was paying the vice president’s bills. Schweizer believes that there is a slam dunk case to indict Hunter Biden.

The latest developments involving apparent mishandling of classified information underscore the gravity of the ongoing Biden corruption scandals.

Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), Breitbart News senior contributor, and author of Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, said on Monday he believed the incoming Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives would investigate conflicts of interest pertaining to President Joe Biden via his second son, Hunter Biden, including the issuance of subpoenas to testify before congressional committees.

“What I think we’re going to see with this new Congress are actual congressional hearings where Hunter Biden is subpoenaed,” Schweizer stated while guest-hosting the Sean Hannity Show alongside GAI colleague Eric Eggers.

Schweizer emphasized his role in breaking the initial investigations of Hunter Biden via his own research into the president’s son’s foreign financial dealings.

He recalled joining Hannity on the latter’s radio and television shows in 2018 to explain Hunter Biden’s foreign financial ties to state entities in China and Ukraine, as detailed in his book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends.

He added, “It’s been four years since we first broke this story with Sean Hannity in 2018, but it’s now finally coming to fruition, and that’s something we should all be very excited about.”

Schweizer was mentioned by journalist Michael Shellenberger in the latter’s latest series of revelations as part of the “Twitter Files” — internal company documents from Twitter forwarded by its new CEO Elon Musk — in relation to the technology company’s censorship of information related to the contents on Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”

Shellenberger spoke with Schweizer recently about the latter’s research into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.

Asked by Eggers about Shellenberger’s references to his investigative reporting, Schweizer said it was “quite positive.”

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chair of the House Oversight Committee, said on Thursday night he wants to follow the trail of anonymous Chinese money to the Biden family, and the possible influence China's Communist Party may have had on Biden policies.

For example, in February 2022, the Biden administration ended the Trump-era China Initiative, established by the Justice Department in 2018 to counter national security threats from the People's Republic of China.

"So we're sending a letter to Penn, requesting documents related to the Chinese donations," Comer told investigative reporter John Solomon Thursday night:

"We want the list of the individuals involved, whoever was involved in soliciting donations from China -- we want all communications, because I think this is very important. This is another aspect of the potential for this family to be compromised.

"Look at the pattern here, from China. Anonymous donations to the Biden Center for diplomacy, which paid Joe Biden a salary; anonymous donors into Hunter Biden's shady LLC from China; anonymous purchasers of art from China at Hunter's new art gallery in New York City: There is a pattern here of massive amounts of money flowing into Biden interests. And this is why we're investigating this family.

"And I think what's happened in the last 48 hours with the mainstream media -- they see the legitimacy of this investigation. And I think we've got a lot of momentum now and a lot of purpose behind what we're doing, and hopefully, we'll be able to get some answers very soon."

Penn -- the University of Pennsylvania -- established the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., providing Biden with office space after he served as vice president.

Penn reportedly received millions of dollars in donations from China, among other sources, to establish the Penn Biden think tank -- where some classified material was found in Biden's office last November.

Threats from China

Looking back one year to February 2022, Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen explained the threat from China, even as he announced the end of the DOJ's China Initiative:

"I’ll give you a few examples of what the PRC government is doing," Olsen said in a speech at George Mason University in Virginia:

"First, it has targeted U.S. citizens with connections to the intelligence community to obtain valuable government and military secrets. In recent years, we have prosecuted four espionage cases involving the PRC, reflecting a concerted effort to steal our most sensitive information.

"Second, the government of China has also used espionage tools and tactics against U.S. companies and American workers to steal critical and emerging technologies. Agents of the PRC government have been caught stealing everything from cutting-edge semiconductor technology to actual seeds that had been developed for pharmaceutical uses after years of research and the investment of millions of dollars.

"Third, the PRC government has used malicious and unlawful cyber campaigns to pursue technological advancement and profit. The PRC reaps the benefits of these criminal activities, while the victims, including governments, businesses and critical infrastructure operators, lose billions of dollars in intellectual property, proprietary information, ransom payments and mitigation efforts.

"Finally, China’s government has gone to great lengths to silence dissent. It has intimidated journalists and employed a variety of means to attempt to censor and punish U.S. citizens, residents, and companies for exercising their rights to free expression. I mentioned earlier Operation Fox Hunt — the PRC’s illegal effort to coerce the return of certain Chinese dissidents to China — which is just one example."

Then Olsen explained why DOJ was scrapping the China Initiative:

"We have heard concerns from the civil rights community that the 'China Initiative' fueled a narrative of intolerance and bias. To many, that narrative suggests that the Justice Department treats people from China or of Chinese descent differently. The rise in anti-Asian hate crime and hate incidents only heightens these concerns...

"There are also increasing concerns from the academic and scientific community about the department’s pursuit of certain research grant fraud cases. We have heard that these prosecutions — and the public narrative they create — can lead to a chilling atmosphere for scientists and scholars that damages the scientific enterprise in this country.

"Safeguarding the integrity and transparency of research institutions is a matter of national security. But so is ensuring that we continue to attract the best and the brightest researchers and scholars to our country from all around the world — and that we all continue to honor our tradition of academic openness and collaboration.

"In light of these concerns, we began a review soon after I took office...While I remain focused on the evolving, significant threat that the government of China poses, I have concluded that this initiative is not the right approach. Instead, the current threat landscape demands a broader approach.

"I want to emphasize my belief that the department’s actions have been driven by genuine national security concerns. But by grouping cases under the China Initiative rubric, we helped give rise to a harmful perception that the department applies a lower standard to investigate and prosecute criminal conduct related to that country or that we in some way view people with racial, ethnic or familial ties to China differently..."

Olsen said the DOJ's National Security Division would be "relentless in defending our country from China," but instead of calling it the China Initiative, DOJ would lump China in with other hostile nations, through a so-called "Strategy for Countering Nation-State Threats." .
