Arizona Supreme Court Upholds 1864 Law Limiting Nearly All Abortions

The Arizona Supreme Court issued a historic decision on Tuesday, ruling that the state must abide by a 123-year-old law which bars all abortions except to save the life of the mother. 

The law, which goes back as far as 1864, also calls for a prison sentence of two to five years for abortionists. Justices heard arguments in the case, Planned Parenthood of Arizona v. Mayes/Hazerigg, in December, and were asked to answer whether Arizona’s 15-week abortion limit signed into law in March of 2022 overrides the older law. 

While the court did not rule on the constitutionality of the 1864 law, the court issued a 4-2 decision with one recusal finding that the 1864 law is “enforceable” over the newer 15-week limit.

“We consider whether the Arizona Legislature repealed or otherwise restricted [the old law] by enacting…the statute proscribing physicians from performing elective abortions after fifteen weeks’ gestation,” Justice John Lopez wrote for the majority opinion. “This case involves statutory interpretation—it does not rest on the justices’ morals or public policy views regarding abortion; nor does it rest on [the old law’s] constitutionality, which is not before us.”

“Absent the federal constitutional abortion right, and because [the fifteen-week limit] does not independently authorize abortion, there is no provision in federal or state law prohibiting [the 1864 law’s] operation. Accordingly, [the 1864 law] is now enforceable,” Lopez continued.

The Arizona Supreme Court ultimately affirmed a lower court’s decision vacating an injunction against the near-total ban, but stayed the total enforcement of the law for 14 days to allow for parties to decide how to pursue further action. The state’s high court also remanded the case to trial court for potential consideration of remaining constitutional challenges.

“The abortion issue implicates morality and public policy concerns, and invariably inspires spirited debate and engenders passionate disagreements among citizens,” the opinion reads. “A policy matter of this gravity must ultimately be resolved by our citizens through the legislature or the initiative process. Today, we decline to make this weighty policy decision because such judgments are reserved for our citizens. Instead, we merely follow our limited constitutional role and duty to interpret the law as written.”

The state supreme court decision comes as pro-abortion activists are moving forward with a proposed amendment that would create a constitutional right to abortion in Arizona.

Arizona for Abortion Access — a coalition of groups including ACLU of Arizona, Affirm Sexual and Reproductive Health, Arizona List, Healthcare Rising Arizona, NARAL Arizona, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona — said last week that they had amassed more than 500,000 signatures, well past the 383,923 required for the proposed amendment to qualify for the ballot in November. If the abortion measure makes it on the November ballot, it would need a simple majority to pass.

Arizona is one of nearly a dozen states where pro-abortion activists are working to codify the right to kill the unborn.

The belief that the federal government is a threat to Americans’ religious rights has surged under Pres. Biden, beyond that of both the Trump and Obama presidencies, a new national survey reveals.

A Rasmussen survey (conducted March 21, 24-25) finds that 56% of U.S. likely voters now say that the federal government poses a threat to religious rights, up from 38% in October of 2017 (under Trump) and 48% in July of 2014 (under Obama).

Today, more than twice as many voters consider the federal government a “threat,” instead of a “protector,” of religious rights (56% vs. 26%), the survey finds. The remaining 17% say they’re not sure.

The Biden Administration has been increasingly prompting concern regarding religious freedom, particularly within the Christian community. From sending a SWAT team brandishing weapons to arrest a pro-life activist, to classifying traditional Catholics as domestic terrorists, to insulting Christians by designating Easter Sunday “Transgender Day,” the Biden regime has consistently raised fears that it is attacking religious rights.

Fully 78% of Americans who believe their rights come from God, and not from the federal government or U.S. Constitution, view the federal government as a threat to their religious rights.

Conversely, only 28% of those who say their rights are given by the federal government perceive a threat. Among those who see the Constitution as the source of their rights, just over half (53%) think the government poses a threat.

Four times as many voters say politicians do not “govern as though they believe in God” as say they do (59% vs. 15%), according to a separate question asked in the survey.

Nearly three-fourths (72%) of those who think most politicians in Washington, D.C. do not govern as though they believe in God view the federal government as a threat to religious rights. But, a 54% majority of those who believe D.C. politicians are guided by faith also consider them “protectors” of religious rights.

Among all voters, 26% say their rights come from God, 10% credit the federal government and 60% cite the U.S. Constitution. Voters under 40 are the most likely to think the government is responsible (17%) for their rights, compared to only 6% of older Americans.

Ironically, the U.S. Declaration of Independence expressly declares that all people are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable” and that governments are instituted “to secure these rights.” It goes on to express “a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.”

While 33% of Republican voters and 26% of unaffiliated voters see their rights as coming from God, just 19% of Democrats agree.

Meanwhile, Democrats (15%) are more likely than Republicans (5%) or those belonging to neither party (8%) to think their rights are handed down by the federal government. About sixty percent of Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliated voters all share the belief that the Constitution bequeaths their rights.

As a President, you have to make countless difficult decisions. Some things are simply more important than others. Choosing to celebrate Easter, the holiest Christian holiday, over LGBTQ propaganda shouldn’t have been one of them.

Biden, chose instead, to highlight on Good Friday -- the day Christ sacrificed Himself in a brutal crucifixion to set us free from sin -- a “Transgender Day of Visibility” proclamation. One might expect this from an atheist President, but certainly not one who claims to be a practicing Catholic. Biden proclaimed, in part, on the White House website: “On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union -- where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.”

So, now, a man appropriating womanhood is “courageous”? A man trading his masculinity for faux femininity is brave? Men displacing and replacing women in sports is something extraordinary? Drag Queen story hours, where some with criminal records imitate striptease acts, are “contributions” to our society? Are we “more perfect,” or are we more perverted as “trans” adults simulate sex acts in front of young children at “family-friendly” drag shows? The most pro-abortion American President, whose party champions the destruction of the most marginalized, tries to wax eloquent about equality. And he fails.

In fact, it’s the equality part that I want to explore a little further. 

Biden released a 635-word Proclamation that worshiped transgenderism declaring: “Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation… You are loved.  You are heard.  You are understood.  You belong.  You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.” No such statement was made about Christians during the Easter holiday. In fact, Biden issued a measly 94-word blurb about Easter. Despite nearly 5,000 Christians killed for their faith every year around the world, nothing was mentioned about their courage, their contributions, their ministries and charities alleviating suffering, or their deaths at the hands of real persecution. 

Earlier this month, President Biden managed to issue a 492-word statement celebrating the Islamic “holy month” of Ramadan. That’s over five times more words than his statement for Easter. And again, he expressed how much Muslims mean to America: “To Muslims across our country, please know that you are deeply valued members of our American family.” He said no such thing of Christians. Guess we didn’t make the Diversity Inclusion & Equity (D.I.E.) cut. 

Well, to offer a little balance in my criticism, former President Obama did offer an even shorter message on Easter that was merely 75 words. George W. Bush offered 206 powerful words; Trump offered three hundred fifteen. But you know what wasn’t a short obligatory statement from either Obama or Biden? Their lengthy tributes given in early March (594 words and 948 words, respectively) to American labor leader, Cesar Chavez, nearly deifying him without mentioning his psychological deterioration into paranoia, frenzied purging of anyone who contested him, and his retreat to a cult rehabilitation center (Synanon). Chavez was no Jesus, but he apparently deserved far more praise and adoration than the Savior for Democratic Presidents. 

Biden’s administration is unquestionably hostile to the faith that he claims to hold. We’ve seen it in his policies and his propaganda since his first day in office. The “Transgender Day of Visibility,” regardless of it falling on the same day as Easter, doesn’t deserve to be legitimized, let alone worshiped on such a day sacred to the nearly 2.5 billion Christians around the world. There’s too much disinformation in Biden’s proclamation to dismantle but one assertion stood out more than others. He claimed that “transgenders deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves.” I’m all about freedom of expression. That doesn’t translate, however, into their movement’s freedom of oppression. This is exactly what the cult of transgenderism has led to as the Democratic Party passes local ordinances and laws controlling speech, erasing women’s sports, fining and firing “offenders,” and shutting down people’s businesses for not bending the knee.

Is our “most fundamental freedom” actually to be our true selves? Is this absolute? Does that apply to pedophiles? Does that apply to racists? Does that apply to misogynists and rapists like Harvey Weinstein? The irony is that transgenderism isn’t about being one’s “true self” but one’s altered self -- materially, chemically and surgically. Biden posted on X: “You are made in the image of God, and you're worthy of respect and dignity.” Made in the image of God but, sure, go through bodily mutilation to reform yourself into your own image.

Every human has equal worth and value. Every human action does not. We’re a nation where mainstream media and politicians are demanding more mental-health awareness. The issue isn’t that we’re not aware of mental illness. The issue is that it is glorified on TV, in films, in schools, and in Presidential Proclamations.

People rising up to rescue America

On the evening of April 6, 2024, an event for President Trump in Florida raised about $50 million.  Earlier the same day, Republicans in Colorado held their State Assembly in Pueblo, Colorado.

Both events — one ritzy and glitzy, the other humble and focused on process — had something important in common: individuals stepped up to serve and donate when they had never done so before.

Lara Trump said on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo that some of the people who came to the event in Florida contributed at a level that they never had before.

As a delegate to the State Assembly at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo, Colorado, I noticed all the Coloradoans who showed up as candidates ready to run for office when they never had run before.  To me, that stood out after all the processes of the assembly and the speechifying — Congresswoman Lauren Boebert and Congressman Matt Gaetz keynoted — and jockeying for position were done and we were headed home.

Also, my husband Peter commented that several individuals told him the same story as his own about how they had decided to run for office at this time.  They had not intended to seek office but had wished for someone else to do it instead.  When no one did, they felt called to run, so they stepped up.  Most of them were running for county or state offices, wanting to rescue Colorado and save the USA.

Greg Lopez, former mayor of Parker, Colorado, has been in the news recently as the person who was picked to be a placeholder in Congress for Rep. Ken Buck’s seat in CD4.  He expressed that he felt led to step up just to be a placeholder, and not to run for office later, which is unusual for someone who has run for office numerous times.  His doing so enabled Rep. Lauren Boebert to serve out her term for CD3 on Colorado’s western slope and wait to participate in the primary for CD4 on Colorado’s eastern plains in June.  (“Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert will appear in the first position on the Republican primary ballot for the Fourth Congressional District,” according to Just the News.)

So why is all this goodwill arising at this time?  My theory is that God is saving the USA, and He is calling some people to serve as candidates and other people to support candidates.  My theory is informed by what leaders and prophetic voices in the Christian community have been saying about these things.

Flashpoint is a program where guests share what is going on at the nexus of politics and faith.  During a January Flashpoint episode, when the Iowa Primary was going on during a cold snap, host Gene Bailey talked with Dutch Sheets of Dutch Sheets Ministries.  Sheets said, “The American People are waking up, Gene.  They just are.”

Bailey asked him to talk about praying.  Sheets said, “I try to keep it in a vein that is Kingdom-minded, not political. ... You can pray without politicizing it just by praying for truth, praying for integrity, praying for wisdom, praying for God to turn the nation.  He knows how to do it. He knows how to orchestrate things.  The one thing I pray about very specifically is I pray against deception.”  

He also said he prays for protection for President Trump, and he went on to pray, at Bailey’s request, with the other guests and the audience.

During the same show, Pastor Hank Kunneman, of Lord of Hosts Church in Nebraska, a Prophet, said to Bailey, “America’s had enough. ... Even though it’s cold outside, there’s a fire burning inside us.  We want our country back.  We want our freedom.  We want election integrity.  We want closed borders.  The list goes on and on and on, and what the Democrats have done, and the RINOs, is touch people at a personal level, and we say enough.”

After a discussion of prophecies and dreams concerning the election, Bailey interpreted to the audience, “You have a part to do.  We have a responsibility.  You have skin in this game.”

Lance Wallnau (LanceWallnau.com) said, “This time the Church is on the front lines, and they are trying desperately to suppress Christian engagement.  They’ve made a full-court decision that they’re going to go after Christian Nationalism. ... This is the year the Church shows up.”

Bailey concluded, “That should be encouraging.  It ought to light you up, man.  This is what we’re seeing.  God is on the move.  Listen, we have our part to play.”

God is raising people up for that purpose, to serve and to donate.

With Biden and his Democrats, the damage is intentional

When California forces certain businesses to pay unreasonably high wages, the result is clearly going to be destructive. Businesses will close, layoffs will occur and higher prices will harm everyone.

Businesses will clearly have to automate more. Some are employing cashiers from foreign countries on Zoom screens. Businesses that were exempt would also have to raise their wages to compete. A $20 an hour wage actually costs businesses $25 to $30 an hour with all the mandatory taxes and benefits. Wages for higher paid workers would also have to go up.
The damage has to be intentional. The policy does not make things more affordable for the poor and middle class.

It's more damage when states enact no bail laws and let career criminals roam the streets, because it is obviously dangerous.

 

When Oregon and other Democrats decriminalize drugs or make them free, it does not make things better.

 

When California and other places make theft under $950 a non-crime, they will get more of it. It is not a surprise when businesses close and costs go up.

 

When a presidential candidate campaigns on opening borders and issues executive orders opening the border and when Democrats run cities and states are sanctuaries that don't punish illegals, the flooding of the country with illegals is intentional. The policies are causing massive harm to the United States. Blaming Trump and Republicans for the problem is a lie. 

 

Closing schools and keeping children out of sports was clearly going to cause massive harm to children, especially vulnerable children who were already behind.  Yet supposedly educated people claimed they had no idea these things would happen and they absolve themselves of the harm they intentionally caused.

 

Democrats always say they are the party for children. They say they like freedom of choice. They claim they are for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Yet, when policies are suggested to offer poor and minority children to leave poorly performing schools and go to schools that better off parents can send their kids to, Democrats block those options. The intentional destructive result is to hold those vulnerable children back.

 

When the CDC, and White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, continually lied to push the dictatorial edicts on COVID and its lockdowns, it was obviously going to cause people not to trust them. Yet the media and other Democrats continue to pretend they should be trusted and everything they did was based on science. 

 

When Democrats hand out freebies to buy votes, intentionally open borders and flood the country with millions of illegals, and when they have a goal to destroy companies that produce reasonably priced energy, the result is going to be one problem after another. Continually blaming others is an intentional lie. 

 

When Biden's policy is to destroy oil companies, it is clearly going to raise prices which helps Russia and Iran finance their wars and their terrorism. The high prices also greatly harm all Americans, especially the poor and middle class.

 

The results are so predictable that the destruction has to be intentional. 

 

Are Biden and Obama so stupid that they believe giving the tyrants in Iran access to hundreds of billions of dollars that it would make the world and the Iranian people safer? How is that working out?

 

Instead of focusing on defending America, our military seems to have prioritized pronouns, DEI, CRT, white privilege and going after right wing extremists (Trump supporters). Now there is a major shortage of recruits. While China and other adversaries are building their military we are focused on not hurting people's feelings. The damage is intentional. 

 

Forcing women to compete against men in sports and to share locker rooms with men is clearly going to harm women. Democrats should stop pretending that they are the party that respects women's rights. 

  

Democrats implemented great society and anti-poverty programs sixty years ago that essentially promoted the breakup of families. The clear result is that we now have a huge percentage of single parents and generational poverty. The fact that Democrats continue to promote and expand these policies indicates that the results are intentional. 

 

Forcing people to buy specific health insurance policies with massive mandates including no lifetime or annual limits was clearly going to take away choice, reduce competition, and raise prices. For fourteen years, insurance costs have skyrocketed, and for fourteen years Democrats have lied that Obamacare has made healthcare more affordable. The bad results are intentional because the goal of Democrats is to force government insurance on all of us. 

 

Forcing businesses to make electric vehicles and forcing people to buy them makes vehicles more unaffordable. Forcing people to switch out their furnaces, appliances, lawn mowers will greatly harm the poor and middle class and these radical green policies will not have any effect on temperatures or storms or sea levels. The intentional destruction is massive.

As America has an explosive increase in demand for power due to data centers, AI, Crypto, electric vehicles and factories pretending to be green Democrats are focused on closing down oil, gas, and coal plants as fast as they can.  That is intentionally destructive. While Democrats want to close down efficient plants with affordable energy, China is rapidly building coal plants. Which country will be more successful? 

Amid explosive demand, America is running out of power

Vast swaths of the United States are at risk of running short of power as electricity-hungry data centers and clean-technology factories proliferate around the country,

Democrats are throwing money at daycare expenses to supposedly make it more affordable, but the policy, like all subsidies, makes prices go up much faster for people who pay. The policy is intentionally damaging.

 

Since the 1960s, the government has been throwing money at colleges to supposedly make them more affordable. The result of this largess is that colleges have used these funds to jack up their costs rapidly. Instead of having colleges control their costs, throwing money at the problem disincentivizes cost-control.  After all, most educators vote for Democrats so they don't care. The result is students have massive debt. Biden's solution is not to hold colleges accountable for screwing parents and kids, it is to dictatorially and unconstitutionally force taxpayers to pay off the debt to buy votes. 

 

When Biden politicizes the Justice Department to go after parents, Catholics, Trump, and Trump supporters who mostly peacefully trespassed at the Capitol, people understand how dangerous and biased the Justice Department is. 

 

When the Justice Department lets Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden off for crimes and taking massive kickbacks for access, the result is we get more corruption in government and people further lose the trust in government institutions. The damage is massive and intentional. 

 

When the Biden administration closed the air force base in Afghanistan, cleared out a prison with terrorists, and left billions in weapons for the Taliban. did they expect good results? The Taliban just brought back stoning.

 

Obama ran on remaking America. The disastrous consequences of Democrat policies are so obvious that they must be intentional. It is as if a community organizer who is a disciple of the radical Saul Alinsky was intentionally trying to destroy America so he could remake it in the radical image. Sadly, most of the media just cheer while this intentional destruction of America is clearly happening. Either the journalists don't understand or  don't care how many people and businesses they intentionally destroy. 

 

I would challenge everyone to name current Democrat policies that are meant to help the poor and middle class vs. making the government more powerful. I can't think of any.

Joe Biden is the least religion-friendly president in United States history despite his claims of being a “devout Catholic,” writes Catholic League President Bill Donohue.

The latest case in point is the Biden administration’s attempt to portray its controversial ban on Christian-themed Easter eggs as standard White House practice.

This misinformation — which Snopes and Politifact have echoed — is verifiably false, Dr. Donohue noted in an essay on Wednesday, citing former President George W. Bush’s practice of allowing religiously themed eggs.

In 2002, the state of New Mexico submitted an Easter egg bearing the image of El Santuario de Chimayo, a small Catholic shrine located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Chimayo, New Mexico, a favorite destination for Good Friday pilgrimages.

Highlighting one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage centers in the United States, that egg was displayed in the White House alongside the other 50 Easter eggs.

In 2024, the Biden White House sponsored an Easter egg youth art competition that expressly banned content including “religious symbols” or “overtly religious themes” despite the quintessentially Christian origin and meaning of Easter.

As part of its annual Easter Egg Roll event, the White House called for egg artwork inspired by the theme “Celebrating our Military Families,” which could depict “a favorite activity, scenery in your state, your military family, a day-in-your life,” as long as the material had no religious content.

Biden has consistently agitated for positions diametrically opposed to Catholic teaching despite his insistence that he is a devout Catholic.

He has pushed for taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand, the inclusion of biological men in women’s athletics, the administration of puberty blockers for children suffering from gender dysphoria, and same-sex marriage, all the while attacking religious freedom.

The U.S. Bishops have sharply criticized Biden for his transgender war on Catholic Charities as well as his support for the Equality Act, which “hinders quality health care, endangers the privacy and safety of women and girls, regulates free speech, severely undermines religious freedom, and threatens charitable nonprofits and the people they serve.”

The bishops also took issue with Biden’s aggressive abortion advocacy, which facilitates “the destruction of defenseless, voiceless human beings.”

Biden is “the least religious-friendly president in American history, and attempts to rescue him from being tagged as such are pathetic,” Donohue writes, adding that Biden is “an embarrassment to practicing Catholics everywhere.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat turned independent running for president in 2024 as a third party candidate, said the argument can be made President Joe Biden is a “much worse threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump.

Kennedy made the remark during an appearance on CNN’s Outfront with Erin Burnett, who asked, “A moment ago, you said you essentially see Trump and Biden as the same, different issues, but do you really believe that?”

“When people talk about the threats of democracy that Trump poses, do you really think that is as equal — equal to Biden?” she pressed.

In turn, Kennedy responded by stating, “I can make the argument that President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy,” pointing to the fact that Biden, 81, has weaponized federal agencies, using them to censor his political opponent.

RFK Jr. said:

And the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent. I can say that because I just won a case in the federal Court of Appeals and now before the Supreme Court that shows that he started censoring not just me — 37 hours after he took the oath of office, he was censoring me.

“No president in the country has ever done that,” Kennedy continued, explaining that “the greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns, but a president of the United States who uses the power of his office to force the social media companies, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to open a portal and give access to that portal to the FBI, to the CIA, to the IRS, to CISA, to NIH to censor his political critics.”

“President Biden, the first president in history, used the Secret — his power over the Secret Service to deny Secret Service protection to one of his political opponents for political reasons,” Kennedy continued, concluding that Biden is “weaponizing the federal agencies.”

“Those are really critical threats to democracy,” he added.

But Burnett pressed Kennedy after he did not identify Trump as a bigger threat to democracy — a favorite narrative of the left.

“Donald Trump, of course, tried to overturn a free and fair election. He tried to overturn one, right? He’s still fighting in court,” she said, adding, “How is that not a threat to democracy?”

“Well, I think that is a threat to democracy if he — him overthrowing — trying to overthrow the election clearly is a threat to democracy,” Kennedy said, sticking by his original assessment that Biden is a worse threat to democracy.

He said:

But the question was, who is the worst threat to democracy? And what I would say is, I — I’m not going to answer that question, but I can argue that President Biden is, because the First Amendment, Erin, is the most important. But Adams and Hamilton and Madison said, we put the guarantee of freedom of expression in the First Amendment because all of our other constitutional rights depend on it. … If you have a government that can silence its opponent, it has license for any atrocity.

“So, just to be clear, you’re saying you could make an argument that President Biden is a worse threat to democracy than Donald Trump?” Burnett asked again.

“Absolutely,” Kennedy added, emphasizing that weaponizing federal agencies is abhorrent.

Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is lighting up Democrat Joe Biden and the White House for the president’s “appalling and insulting” behavior towards Christians on Easter.

“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,’” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Breitbart News on Saturday. “Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

The Trump campaign’s move here comes after Biden issued an official proclamation as president of the United States on Good Friday declaring that Easter Sunday this year will be “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

“We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives,” Biden said in the proclamation.

In addition to that, Biden and his White House have now banned children from submitting “overtly religious” artwork at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The annual event is normally nonpartisan and not controversial, but Biden and his radical leftist White House employees have got their agenda infiltrating even this yearly tradition.

The event, hosted by First Lady Jill Biden, sent out a flyer to participants barring children from submitting any Easter eggs from containing religious content on their designs. “The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements,” the flyer stated.

These latest developments come after Biden previously skipped a wake of a slain New York City Police Department officer, Jonathan Diller, to instead hold an all-hands-on-deck desperate fundraiser with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton in New York. Trump actually went to Officer Diller’s wake, and afterwards delivered brief remarks in which he noted that the nation needs to see law and order restored after Biden and his Democrat allies have gutted police protection nationwide the past few years. The Trump campaign similarly ripped Biden over the mistake he made.

Biden came straight out of that ritzy fundraiser hosted by actress Mindy Kaling—on the stage of which late night comedian Stephen Colbert interviewed him, and at which several elitist entertainers like Lizzo and Queen Latifah performed—to issuing this official proclamation on Friday declaring that Easter Sunday this year will be the new national “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

These overt cultural missteps by the Biden team—this stuff over Easter, and on Thursday over law enforcement—provide major contrast opportunities for the Trump campaign, which has been seizing them to show America how much better it was under Trump than it is under Biden and how much better it will be if Trump comes back.

Did you think that someone was pulling your leg when you heard this? Early April Fool’s Day joke? I did and had to confirm it several times. 

This is what I mean:

President Joe Biden was slammed on social media Saturday after marking Easter Sunday, the most solemn Christian holiday, as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility.’

 

Prominent Christians, politicians, and commenters flooded social media platforms with criticism after the announcement from the White House. While March 31 has been designated to honor the transgender movement since Biden took office, this year it falls on Easter Sunday, one of the most important days for Christians, as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

 

"On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives," a statement released by the White House read.   

 

"Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans:  You are loved.  You are heard.  You are understood.  You belong.  You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back," it continued. "NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility."

 

You have their back on Easter Sunday, don’t you Joe? 

 

I mean, you couldn't wait another week or pick another day to show that you have their back. 

 

I guess not.  It must be urgent! More urgent than Easter. 

 

Before I forget, no religious references at Joe & Jill's party this year, either.   

 

No, we can't have that.  The memo went out to all the kids and please don't include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.   

 

Maybe "He is Risen" is now a partisan political statement?    No Latin please!

 

Honestly this is obscene and disrespectful to people who celebrate Easter Sunday for a different reason.  Joe Catholic is either a fraud, a man signing whatever they put in front of him or maybe both.

 

Imagine a president signing a proclamation honoring Ho Chi Minh on Memorial Day, or one honoring Jim Crow on Martin Luther King Day or one honoring King George II on July 4th.  

 

The insanity goes on in large part because they know at the White House that the press won't ask the president about it.  They never do and KJP may hang up on them if they do.   

 

And Joe Catholic will go to mass Sunday morning, rosary in hand, and take communion.

Joe Biden Tells ‘Trans Americans’ They Are ‘Made in the Image of God’

President Joe Biden’s secular deputies kidnapped Christian theology to champion transgenderism on the holiest weekend for Christianity.

On Sunday afternoon, Biden’s X account tweeted: “Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I have a simple message to all trans Americans: I see you. You are made in the image of God, and you’re worthy of respect and dignity.”

The aggressive appropriation of Christian themes for political advantage — on Christianity’s holiest days —  suggests Biden’s campaign staffers are trying to provoke a political fight over religion and sex that could rally demoralized progressives to his failing presidential campaign. 

However, the Easter Sunday provocation will likely fail — and may backfire. 

Christians recognize the need to suppress anger, forgive, and even love their enemies, even as they also fight hard to do good in the world. For example, the Bible reports that Jesus told Christians: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”

Moreover, many polls show that transgenderism is losing public support as more people — including many progressives, and gays and lesbians — feel the impact of transgenderism’s civic aggression, personal violence, criminal behavior, intellectual incoherence, medical damage, hostility to parents and women, and danger to pitiable children. women, men, and gay men.

The “made in the image of God” phrase and claim is a theological statement by a government that vigorously enforces secularism outside churches.

For example, author Wayne Grudem says the phrase means:

Every single human being, no matter how … marred by sin, or illness, or weakness, or age, or any other disability, still has the status of being in God’s image and therefore must be treated with the dignity and respect that is due to God’s image-bearer. This has profound implications for our conduct toward others. It means that people of every race deserve equal dignity and rights. It means that elderly people … and children yet unborn deserve full protection and honor as human beings.

Biden’s transgenderism statement was slammed by Christians and critics of transgenderism, including “Billboard Chris“:

To say that humans who block puberty, take cross-sex hormones, and cut off their body parts because they were ‘born in the wrong body’ are “made in the image of God” is quite an insult to God.

Progressives argue that the desire to change sex is legitimate and should be forcibly enabled by government intervention.

That goal has been embraced by millions of Democratic-leaning voters who deeply empathize with people they see as afflicted minorities, such as “transgender kids,” migrant “kids in cages,” blacks, and even criminals. This progressive demographic is critical to Democrats because it is far larger than the tiny population of self-declared transgender people — few of whom even undergo cosmetic surgery on the genitals.

This transgender-focused empathy was expressed in 2020 by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in language taken from Christian theology:

There is nothing holy about rejecting medical care of people, no matter who they are, on the grounds of what their identity is … There is nothing holy about turning someone away from a hospital.

The empathy-minded progressive voters are a critical slice of Biden’s political coalition — but they are fracturing from Biden amid the damage caused by mass migration, economic turmoil — such as high rents — and the Israeli response to HAMAS’ October 7 massacre of Jewish civilians.

So multiple Democrats are amping up their portrayal of “transgender” people as bullied victims as they try to spur an emotional conservative backlash and a progressive turnout in the November election.

This weekend, Biden’s staffers touted their political  “Transgender Day of Visibility” claim on Easter Friday, which marked the start of Christianity’s holiest days. His deputies and political allies repeated the theme over the weekend and topped it off with the “made in the image of God” tweet on Sunday. 

The White House’s weekend messages implement the progressive mobilization strategy, but it also risks further alienating millions of swing-voting Christians, including Latino Christians.

Christianity says that God created men and women as naturally equal, complementary, and distinctly different. The view is matched by science and is recognized by evolved cultural norms, such as marriage, single-sex changing rooms, and different obligations on men and women.

This “different and complementary” understanding of the two sexes is directly opposed by the Biden-backed transgender claim that the two sexes are interchangeable with a bit of makeup, a change of clothing, and perhaps some surgery

Many polls show that transgenderism is unpopular — and is losing support. For example, a Gallup poll in September showed that almost 70 percent of Americans say that athletes born male should not be allowed to play against women, and 55 percent say it is “morally wrong” to claim opposite-sex status.

But Democrats have successfully dodged public opposition by mobilizing progressives with the claim that politicians who oppose transgenderism are mean bullies.

Last November, for example, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear fended off a GOP rival by declaring himself the good-hearted defender of vulnerable kids. He told MSNBC on November 20:

The way these super PACs and my opponent went about their campaign, it was just mean. It was gross. It was cruel. And people don’t like that. That’s not who we are. This ought to be a message that you can’t scapegoat people just to get folks angry. And is wrong think about what some people are doing, trying to dehumanize other human beings.

‘Good’ Catholic Biden declares open war on Easter and the Bible

Tomorrow is Christianity’s holiest day, for it commemorates Jesus’s resurrection three days after he was taken off the cross. A man like Joe Biden, whom we’ve been assured is the most Catholic of all Catholics, should surely be honoring this day with reverence. Well, he’s not. He’s issued a proclamation celebrating 2024’s “Transgender Day of Visibility,” which, not coincidentally, falls on Easter, while his White House has warned families participating in the White House Easter Egg art contest to keep all religious symbolism off White House grounds.

The proclamation about Transgender Day went out yesterday. It spends paragraphs celebrating the wonder and courage of mentally ill and/or brainwashed people who deny reality. It wraps up by stating,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.  I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.

It’s not a coincidence that 2024’s Transgender Day of Visibility falls on Easter. As Logan Lancing and James Lindsay explain in their must-read The Queering of the American Child: How a New School Religious Cult Poisons the Minds and Bodies of Normal Kids, Marxism is not an economic theory; it’s a religious cult, and Christianity is one of the things that stands in its way.

At its most simple level, Marx’s theory posits that people’s inner divinity lies in their inherent creativity. There is no God; we’re all gods. However, everything in Western society—its history, institutions, and norms—operates to quash that divinity.

Originally, Marx simply attacked capitalism, believing that the ownership class, by forcing people to work for it, sucked out the worker’s creativity, destroying their divinity. He reasoned that, if people no longer worked for each other but with each other, they’d be able to ascend to their true god-like status. (Yes, the theory is that stupid and, when it comes to human nature, naïve.)

When the affluent West rejected this cultic economic gobbledygook, Marx’s ideological heirs devised a new theory: The answer to releasing inner divinity wasn’t getting rid of capitalism (although they’d like to) but getting rid of norms. And the normiest norms in the West are reality and Christianity. If you can undermine both, they say, people will be liberated.

That’s at a societal level. At the individual level, our body is the ultimate norm. It is the one thing we know with certainty. This knowledge continues when it comes to whether we’re of the sex that plants the seed or grows the baby. That’s the ultimate male-female binary. It’s both a biological norm and, thanks to Genesis, it’s the Judeo-Christian norm of the West. God didn’t create Adam, Eve, and It. Just Adam and Eve, “male and female, He created them.”

So, what better thing to do to smash the gender binary than to take the holiest day on the Christian calendar and turn it into the complete denial of the foundations of the Bible itself?

But Biden isn’t content with mere symbolism. When it comes to Easter, this central Christian holiday, Biden wants to make sure that the White House celebration is unsullied by…Christianity. Thus, in the White House announcement for the art contest, the instructions are clear. No actual Easter iconography is allowed (emphasis added):

Restrictions:

The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or any other intellectual property rights;

• The Submission must not in any way disparage Sponsor or any other person or party;
• The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
• The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
• The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of the United States or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created.
• The Submission must not promote illegal drugs or firearms (or the use of any of the foregoing), or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous;
• The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements; and
• The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of Sponsor and be consistent with and satisfy the purpose of the submission.

Do you know what Easter is without Christian iconography? It’s not Easter. I mean, as someone Jewish, I love that America has created a non-religious gloss on Christmas and Easter. Christmas lights and music, the abundance of delicate spring colors on Easter décor, along with the pretty chicks and bunnies, and, for both holidays, all the chocolate…what’s not to love?

But I never lose track of the fact that these sanitized, ecumenical holidays exist above a religious foundation. Apparently, though, that most Catholic of Catholic American presidents has forgotten that…or Biden agrees with Marx that the pathway to a utopia filled with human divinities is paved with the abandoned norms of the most prosperous, stable, accomplished culture in human history.

(Now let’s see which norms he smashes for Ramadan…)

Republican Party of Florida chairman Evan Power blasted President Joe Biden on Saturday for declaring March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday, “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

“There appears to be no limit to what the Biden administration will do to try and shove their radical agenda down the throats of the American people,” Power said in a statement released on Saturday.

“As Christians gather tomorrow to celebrate Easter Sunday, one of the most holy days of the Christian calendar, President Biden thinks that it is appropriate to issue a proclamation designating Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,'” he continued, pointing out that this “comes the same day that it is reported for the first time that Christian symbolism was not allowed in the White House Easter Egg contest.”

“President Biden should issue a retraction and an apology to the American people, and Nikki Fried along with all Florida Democrats should demand the same,” he added.

Indeed, Biden officially declared Easter Sunday the “Transgender Day of Visibility.” In the proclamation, he demonized those who defend children from transgender ideology as “extremists.”

Biden’s proclamation continues:

Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation.  Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families or running businesses, they help America thrive.  They deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves.  But extremists are proposing hundreds of hateful laws that target and terrify transgender kids and their families — silencing teachers; banning books; and even threatening parents, doctors, and nurses with prison for helping parents get care for their children.  These bills attack our most basic American values:  the freedom to be yourself, the freedom to make your own health care decisions, and even the right to raise your own child.  It is no surprise that the bullying and discrimination that transgender Americans face is worsening our Nation’s mental health crisis, leading half of transgender youth to consider suicide in the past year.

At the same time, an epidemic of violence against transgender women and girls, especially women and girls of color, continues to take too many lives.  Let me be clear:  All of these attacks are un-American and must end.  No one should have to be brave just to be themselves.

Many across the board expressed both shock and disgust.

“The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter — which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said.

“Banning sacred truth and tradition—while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day”—is outrageous and abhorrent. This is why the American people are taking note,” he added:

“Biden is banning religious symbols from Easter celebrations at the White House, while flying the trans flag and declaring Easter Sunday to be ‘Trans Visibility Day,'” Donald Trump Jr. said.

“This is the left’s new religion. They want people worshiping the trans flag instead of God. They must be stopped,” he added:

“Joe Biden declares that Easter Sunday is transgender visibility day while he bans Christian symbols from the White House Easter egg roll,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said.

“Disgraceful. Easter will forever be the celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection,” she added as others expressed similar reactions:

President Joe Biden’s Democrat administration is taking flak for prohibiting children from submitting Easter eggs featuring religious artwork for a contest.

The event, which is part of the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll, is called “Celebrating National Guard Families” but will not allow submissions to feature symbols related to the holiday that Christians celebrate all over the world, the Daily Caller reported Friday.

The 2024 “Call for Youth Art” flyer said:

On behalf of First Lady Jill Biden, The Adjutants General of the National Guard are asking youth from National Guard families across the United States and all U.S. territories to submit artwork inspired by the theme “Celebrating our Military Families”. Children should depict on an egg template (see Art Submission form) a snapshot of their life – a favorite activity, scenery in your state, your military family, a day-in-your life, etc.

Under its restrictions list, the flyer noted, “The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.”

Social media users shared their thoughts on the Daily Caller’s story regarding the ban, one person writing, “A snapshot of your life excluding part of your life.”

“They’ll ban religion all together as soon as they think they can get away with it,” someone else said, while another person commented, “What does the Biden White House think Easter is all about? The Easter Bunny?”

UPI reported Thursday that the White House is bringing back its “EGGucation” theme for the Easter Egg Roll.

“First lady Jill Biden, a longtime educator, will lead the festivities, which will include a reading nook, picture area, farm field trip, STEAM school and snack area. The Easter Egg Roll is a White House event that dates back to 1878,” the outlet said.

Meanwhile, inflation and supply chain issues in Biden’s America are making the price of the eggs themselves (along with chocolate) rise, Breitbart News noted Friday.

President Joe Biden’s White House has declared the holiest of Christian holidays “Transgender Day of Visibility,” announcing that “transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our nation.”

Biden issued an official proclamation on Good Friday, reading, “We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.”

The official proclamation continued:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.

Biden’s chosen day for the inaugural celebration is Easter Sunday, a day on which Christians — including Biden, who discusses his Catholic faith often — celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Biden White House has made the promotion of transgenderism a cornerstone of its policy agenda, with Biden in his 2024 State of the Union address pledging loyalty to transgender Americans. His proclamation touts the work he has done to promote that agenda:

I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect.  I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military.  I am proud to have signed historic Executive Orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more.  I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that every American can marry the person they love.

The proclamation continues:

My Administration is working to stop the bullying and harassment of transgender children and their families.  The Department of Justice has taken action to push back against extreme and un-American State laws targeting transgender youth and their families and the Department of Justice is partnering with law enforcement and community groups to combat hate and violence.  My Administration is also providing dedicated emergency mental health support through our nationwide suicide and crisis lifeline — any LGBTQI+ young person in need can call “988” and press “3” to speak with a counselor trained to support them.  We are making public services more accessible for transgender Americans, including with more inclusive passports and easier access to Social Security benefits.

Biden’s proclamation calls for Congress to pass the Equality Act, which would codify Democrats’ embrace of gender identity, the made-up concept that one can identify as a sex other than what they were born as. Democrats have tried to pass the bill for years but have yet to get it across a president’s desk.

In June 2023, the White House held an event for “LGBTQI+ families,” during which transgender activist Rose Montoya and other transgender activists flashed their bare chests. The White House has even pushed transgenderism on children.

So they want billions and billions in assistance to foreign countries, such as Ukraine, which is not a NATO country, but a big hog wallow for the U.S. foreign policy consulting establishment, nearly all Democrats, drawing lots of "contracts," if not losing track of the money entirely, as a top Ukrainian official admitted, but they refuse to lift a finger to halt Joe Biden's open-borders policies, which have created untold misery on city streets as migrants are dumped, human trafficking networks are empowered, cartels are growing so rich they are driving Mexicans out of their homes, families are being separated and broken up and kids sold into slavery based on Biden's immigration incentives, migrants are dying en route through dangerous crossings, illegal alien crime is growing, and Democrat-led cities are seeing their budgets blown out and vital police and fire services cut. MONICA SHOWALTER
