Texas Cops Find 40 Migrants Locked in Horse Trailer

A Culberson County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a pick-up truck pulling a horse trailer on Friday just south of the tiny West Texas Town of Van Horn. Normally, in cattle country, a truck pulling a livestock trailer is part of the normal landscape. On this occasion, the deputy was surprised when he discovered 40 illegal migrants crammed into the hot trailer.

A Culberson County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a horse trailer and found multiple migrants locked inside. The deputy also found more migrants locked inside the compartment used to store tac gear in the sweltering West Texas heat.

Deputies arrested the driver on human smuggling charges and turned the migrants over to Border Patrol agents. The incident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The border crisis is leaving no geographic regions of the southwest unaffected. In the remote Big Bend Sector, the Border Patrol usually makes the fewest migrant arrests of any sector on the southern border. The area is void of any large cities. Its remote isolated roadways make it uninviting for human traffickers who usually stand out amongst local travelers and tourists.

This year, however, is different. Since October, the Border Patrol in this region apprehended more than 25,000 migrants illegally entering the sector. This compares to slightly more than 4,000 during the same time frame last year. The increase of over 400 percent is staggering.

Like in many areas along the southwest border, Border Patrol agents in the Big Bend Sector are overwhelmed with processing and caring for the vulnerable population of migrants streaming across the border. Like other sectors, they too rely heavily on the cooperation and vigilance of local law enforcement authorities to meet the shortfall in available Border Patrol agents in the field.

On Tuesday, Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a vehicle that failed to yield to their emergency lights. The pursuit ended when the smuggler’s vehicle overturned, sending multiple migrants to a local hospital.

Los Zetas Cartel Kidnaps Texas Family Traveling Through Border State in Mexico

Gunmen from one of Mexico’s most violent drug cartels kidnapped three members of a Texas family as they traveled through a border state towards the United States. The kidnapping took place in an area controlled by a faction of Los Zetas known as Cartel Del Noreste.

The kidnapping is believed to have taken place seven days ago when 39-year-old Gladys Cristina Perez Sanchez traveled with her 16-year-old son, Juan Carlos Gonzales, and her nine-year-old daughter, Cristina Duran. The victims were driving to Laredo, Texas, from the town of Sabinas Hidalgo in the border state of Nuevo Leon.

Relatives alerted authorities when their loved ones failed to arrive at the designated time and their cell phones would go straight to voice mail. Soon after the kidnapping, Nuevo Leon state authorities issued a series of posters asking for information on the missing victims.

According to information shared by relatives with Breitbart Texas, the victims were traveling to Sabinas Hidalgo every two to four weeks to visit a sick relative. Israel Garza, a relative of the missing travelers told Breitbart Texas that several of his acquaintances have been stopped by cartel gunmen along the highway that connects Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, with Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, particularly between the 16th and 28th kilometer markers.

In recent months, Nuevo Laredo has seen a rash of highway kidnappings with unsuspecting motorists being the prime targets. The true number of missing persons along those highways remains unknown.

The location where the kidnapping took place is controlled by the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas — a criminal organization that has not only made a name for themselves for their acts of extreme violence, but also for having absolute control over the city of Nuevo Laredo and surrounding areas. Mexico’s federal government remains unable to regain control of the region while CDN-Los Zetas gunmen routinely patrol the city in armored vehicles with complete impunity.

Texas Dedicates $250 Million to Build Border Wall

The State of Texas announced the dedication of $250 million to a disaster fund to build wall systems along its border with Mexico. The $250 million is being transferred from appropriated funds from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

“Though securing the international border and protecting the life and property of its citizens surrounding that border is the duty of the federal government, the current administration has shown time and time again an unwillingness to embrace this fundamental responsibility,” a letter to TDCJ Executive Director Bryan Collier signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, House Speaker Dade Phelan, Senate Finance Committee Chair Jane Nelson, and House Appropriations Chair Greg Bonnen on Wednesday stated. “As noted in the disaster declaration, Texas has invested a significant amount of its own resources to take action where the federal government has failed.”

During a press conference in Austin on Wednesday, Abbott said Texas is stepping up to address the humanitarian crisis being faced by Texans living along the Mexican border.

“I will tell you this,” Abbott said while addressing the Texas border crisis, “the federal government is spending seemingly, all of its resources concerning the border on the people who are trying to enter into the state of Texas.”

“I’m focused on the humanitarian crisis that Texans are suffering through,” he continued. “Texans on the border are suffering through a humanitarian crisis by having their lives disrupted with guns and gangs and being riddled with crime. As Texans, we have a responsibility as leaders in this state, to step up and address their humanitarian crisis in that is what began today.”

Texas State Senator Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) added that the Legislative Budget Board has the authority under Article 9, Section 14.04 to make the transfer during a disaster declaration. At the request of county judges along the border, Governor Abbott made such a declaration earlier this month.

Abbott called the $250 million transfer a “down payment” on what he anticipates to be hundreds of miles of new border walls to be built on land already owned by the State or private property where owners volunteer their land for this purpose.

“My belief based upon conversations that I’ve already had is that the combination of state land, as well as volunteer land, will yield hundreds of miles to build a border wall in Texas,” Abbott explained.

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R) said that up to three million people could illegally cross the border into the United States this year including hundreds of thousands who are never apprehended. He called the governor’s letter to President Joe Biden demanding the return of land to Texas the “most consequential letter signed by any governor in modern history.”

“This document will go down as one of the most important documents in the history of Texas,” Patrick stated. “Because it’s reclaiming our land, our border, our country, our state, for the people of Texas and America.”

House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Orange) also praised the governor’s leadership and ingenuity for “finding a Texas solution to a Washington, D.C. problem.”

“This is a legal crisis. This is a security crisis. This is a humanitarian crisis,” Phelan said. “These are children and families being smuggled across the border. “These are drug cartels, bringing in weapons that end up on the streets of not just Texas but this entire country.”

Governor Abbott declared this program to build a Texas border wall begins today. “This program is officially funded in the State of Texas,” he declared with the signing of the order to transfer the $250 million down payment.

The governor also announced a website, BorderWall.Texas.gov, where people can learn about the plans and contribute money to help build the wall. “Many have already sent checks to the State of Texas for this purpose and many more have a desire to do so,” the governor said. “This provides a donation site, as well as the site we can find out more information about what the process is about building the border wall.”

“The Biden Administration has abandoned its responsibility to apply federal law to secure the border and to enforce the immigration laws, and Texans are suffering as a consequence of that neglect by the Biden administration,” Abbott said in conclusion. “In the federal government’s absence, Texas is stepping up to get the job done.”

“We will build a wall. We will secure the border. but most importantly, we will restore safety to the citizens who live in the Lone Star State,” the governor said.

Shameless: Biden shows up to mass as communion issue rages

So as the bishops of the Catholic Church debate whether to give abortion-enabler Joe Biden communion as a Catholic in good standing, Joe Biden and his once-divorced wife showed up for mass as the press stood by.

According to the Daily Mail:

President Joe Biden attended Mass on Saturday afternoon near his Delaware home ignoring a growing controversy as U.S. Catholic bishops try to block him receiving Communion because of his liberal stance on abortion.

He walked through the churchyard of St Joseph on the Brandywine before entering the church for its 4pm service.

He is a regular at the church when spending the weekend in Wilmington, and it was a familiar moment on a day marked by heartbreak. [Death of one of their dogs.]

Biden made sure to answer one reporter's shouted question with his own stance on the issue:

For his part, Biden dismissed the bishops' move on Friday.  

'That’s a private matter, and I don’t think that’s going to happen,' he told reporters at the White House when asked the possibility that he and other politicians could be denied Communion. 

 Which is a little arrogant, given that he wouldn't exactly know unless someone among the bishops is leaking to him. It's in the same vein as Democrat clowns "daring" the bishops to deny wonderful-them communion, too. LifeNews described his attitude as "defiant" and "smug."

It's actually a bit of a moot point in that Biden is married to a divorced woman whose spouse is still living, a hardline 'no' for communion, although one wouldn't be surprised if the bishops broke their own rule and gave it to him while going hardline and denying it only to the little guys.

The problem here is that Biden wears his Catholicism on his sleeve as a means of personally profiting, a means of reaping votes. He's using his membership in the Church to advance his political power. Joe Biden being Joe Biden, fully in the control of spinners, it's quite likely someone at the White House press office called in the Daily Mail to cover his attendance at mass as a way to tell voters he was a "devout Catholic," just as his spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, told us.

He may well have been trying to reap political hay off the controversy around him. Then, during the week, he doesn't just hold anti-life views, but he uses his government power to act on them.

The bishops themselves are three-quarters in favor of keeping Biden off the communion list, but a vocal minority, such as Bishop Robert W. McElroy of San Diego, a devout leftist, say the bishops shouldn't "politicize" the matter. By his logic, Hitler, who was raised Catholic, would be fine by him to get communion, too.

Pope Francis's minions in the Vatican are problematic, too, claiming that communion is a "hospital for sinners" which is perfectly correct long-standing Church teaching. Where their logic runs aground is that Joe Biden doesn't think he's any sort of sinner for his abortion-promoting presidency, so that wouldn't include him. Biden's openly stated that he "disagrees" with Church teaching, for one thing, which means he's fine with what he does and thinks the rest of us are wrong.

The Biden-side bishops continue their problematic logic by arguing that it would be quite a task to exclude from communion every Catholic who believes as Biden does in the "right" to kill an unborn baby. Many Catholics may think that, but Biden goes a lot further. He's a man of action on this, not just a mere voter with anti-Catholic views. According to LifeNews, he's done these things all by executive action, ruling by fiat instead of representative democracy, to ensure that abortion is made more available than ever:

• An Executive Order issued January 28th repealing the pro-life Mexico City Policy that had been reestablished and expanded by the Administration of President Trump.
• On the same day, President Biden issued an Executive Order that began the process of overturning the Trump Administration’s “Protect Life Rule” on Title X. That rule ensured that Title X family planning money did not flow to abortion providers and that everyone receiving Title X funds would not refer for abortion. In March, HHS announced it will repeal the Protect Life Rule by the end of the year.
• President Biden signed the $1.9 Trillion Reconciliation Package which includes billions of dollars available for taxpayer-funded abortions.
• President Biden’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspended protections established for women undergoing chemical abortions, such as seeing the abortionist in person. The in-person requirement is vital because it ensures that complications, such as an ectopic pregnancy, are ruled out in advance of a woman undergoing a chemical abortion. Mifepristone, the “abortion pill,” has no impact on an ectopic pregnancy which is a life-threatening medical condition.
• President Biden nominated California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who was confirmed by the Senate, to head HHS. Becerra’s support of abortion on demand for any reason and at any time during pregnancy, as well as his campaign against pregnancy help centers, is extensive and well documented.
• President Biden’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) reversed Trump-era fetal tissue requirements. In its internal research, NIH will again fund research using tissue from aborted babies. It will also no longer convene the Human Fetal Tissue Research Ethics Advisory Board, established under President Trump that was designed to review extramural research grant applications.
• Though he long supported the Hyde Amendment in the past, as a presidential candidate, President Biden flip-flopped in 2019. President Biden is now on record in support of eliminating the Hyde Amendment which prevents the use of federal funds to pay for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother. Named after its original sponsor, pro-life Congressman Henry Hyde, the original amendment was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976. It was estimated that before the Hyde Amendment took effect, approximately 300,000 abortions were paid for by Medicaid programs each year.

He's the most pro-abortion U.S. president ever.

So now the shameless usurper has decided to play Mr. Catholic by showing up for mass. Why this gets any coverage whatsoever is obnoxious in the extreme. Biden isn't changing any. He's telling the Church that it needs to change its views and open the gates to abortion as a free for all, not him. That's the hallmark of arrogance and conceit. Why is this bounder undermining the cause of life in the Church at all?

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R.-Texas) forwarded a tweet sent out today by CBS News that reported on a question that Julia Johnson of CNSNews.com had asked House Speaker Pelosi (D.-Calif.) at her press briefing today.

The CBS News tweet quoted the question Johnson asked and Pelosi’s answer and included a video of the exchange. It said:

“Reporter asks Nancy Pelosi, ‘Is an unborn baby at 15 weeks a human being?’

“Pelosi: ‘Let me just say that I am a big supporter of Roe v. Wade. I am a mother of five children in six years. I think I have some standing on this issue as to respecting a woman's right to choose.’”

Commenting on this, Cruz said: “Barbaric. Speaker Pelosi refuses to say an unborn baby at 15 weeks is a human being. Science doesn’t matter to today’s radical Dems—it’s all politics.”

A 7-year-old Dallas girl whose mother was recently arrested in her death was stabbed over 30 times, according to a court document.

Madison Petry died after being stabbed on Thursday. Troyshaye Mone Hall, 23, faces a capital murder charge in her daughter's slaying, as well as a charge of aggravated assault in the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.

An arrest-warrant affidavit says that Hall's mother said she was taking a bath Thursday when she heard screaming. Hall’s brother then told her that Hall had stabbed his teenage friend, the affidavit said.

The affidavit said Hall's mother and brother tried to take the knife from her, but she got away from them and stabbed her daughter.

Madison was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The affidavit said that the initial autopsy found that the child had over 30 stab wounds.

Hall was being held Saturday in Dallas County Jail on $1.5 million. Court records did not list an attorney for her who could be reached for comment.

23 Shot Friday into Saturday Night in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago

Twenty-three people were shot, two of them fatally, Friday into Saturday night in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.

ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reports one fatal attack occurred Friday night, leaving a 28-year-old woman dead and a man and a 15-year-old boy injured. The three were standing “in the 5400-block of South Bishop Street” when someone opened fire on them.

At 5:20 p.m. Friday a 31-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk near “64th Street and King Drive” when someone pulled up in a vehicle and opened fire. The 31-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Chicago Tribune notes 294 people were killed in Chicago January 1, 2021, through June 12, 2021. That is 21 more deaths than were registered during the same time in 2020.

The Tribune points out a total of 1,587 people were been shot January 1, 2021, through June 14, 2021. That figure represents fatal and non-fatal shootings combined and means 195 more people were shot in 2021 than were shot during the same time-frame in 2020.

On June 16, 2021,  Breitbart News reported Mayor Lightfoot is seeking federal gun control as a solution to Chicago’s gun violence.

Chicago, like all of Illinois, already has a 72-hour waiting period for gun purchases, a red flag law, and a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card requirement for would-be gun buyers. The process to acquire a FOID card includes a background check.

Moreover, Cook County, the county in which Chicago is located, has an “assault weapons” ban.

Six Shot, One Killed Near Juneteenth Celebration in Oakland

Six people were shot, one of whom died, on Saturday evening near a Juneteenth celebration at Oakland’s Lake Merritt.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

Oakland police received reports of shots fired in the 2200 block of Lakeshore Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Saturday, police said, just as roughly 1,000 people were celebrating around the lake.

The gunfire victims were five males aged 16 to 27, and one 21-year-old woman, police said.

The shooting sent hundreds of people running away from the scene. By 7:30 p.m., police had largely locked down the scene with police tape and the commotion had subsided.

Mayor Libby Schaaf condemned the shooting, saying that the “joyous occasion at our Lake Merritt was marred by a senseless act of gun violence.” Large crowds had spent the day in the area celebrating the first federally designated Juneteenth holiday.

Crime has skyrocketed in Oakland, as in other major cities, since the unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota — and the “defund the police” movement that has seen many police forces under new pressure.

“Through May 23,” the Chronicle reported on May 31, “the city had recorded 51 homicides for the year, a 132% increase compared with the same period last year and a 70% increase compared with 2019. San Francisco, across the Bay, will consider a proposal this week to cut police funds and use the money to pay for “community-led” homeless responses.
