House Democrats on the Oversight Committee on Tuesday voted against a Republican resolution that would have ordered President Joe Biden’s administration to turn over documents about Hunter Biden’s business deals.
Reflecting on the country’s last 15 presidencies, from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Joe Biden, conservative radio legend Michael Savage argued that Biden is the “worst” president to lead the country during his lifetime, claiming a “criminal enterprise [is] running the country,” while highlighting the current border crisis, the recent Afghanistan withdrawal, the return to energy dependence, and the “authoritarian” COVID-19 mandate.
Detailing “the good, the bad, and the ugly” aspects of the presidents who ruled America over the last several decades, Savage weighed in on today’s issues during his latest podcast .
Having been born in 1942, when Roosevelt was president, Savage claimed “we are now living under another Democrat President called Joseph Biden, who is not really a president in any sense of the word.”
Arguing the way to objectively judge a president is by his “domestic and worldly successes and failures,” Savage explained why it was up to the individual to decide if the president met these standards.
“With a very small cadre of extreme far-left or Marxist-light so-called presidential historians as the only source to answer our question, we really have to rely upon our own observed realities,” he said.
“We can’t rely upon so-called presidential historians — they’re all part and parcel of the same machine that’s destroying this country,” he added. “They’re of the far-left variety, the socialist variety, the Marxist variety.”
For example, he noted, “almost all Americans would say they respect and love” John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States.
“Is this a product of a sort of mass hypnosis? Media propaganda? Or his actualities?” he asked. “Likewise, in reverse, most knowledgeable Americans know that Jimmy Carter was an abject failure.”
“Both domestically and on the international stage, Carter was a disaster for this country,” he added.
Open Borders
According to Savage, we are currently “living with a presidency that seems to be a foreign power dominating this country rather than an actual presidency in a party of the United States of America,” especially considering this administration has “welcomed 4 million illegal aliens” from South and Central America, Africa, and the Middle East, “almost all of whom have not been vetted for terrorist ties, for diseases… nor for plain old criminal activities such as smuggling drugs.”
As a result, he added, one can conclude “that when they’re bringing in a population larger than that of some states, we have a criminal enterprise running the country.”
Though Savage admitted there have been other presidents “who were weak, like Jimmy Carter,” or “whose loyalties were questionable, such as Barack Obama,” and yet others “who may have been as corrupt as Joseph Biden,” the country has never “had a package of such evil and corruption as we currently have.”
Savage accused Biden of creating “the worst border crisis in American history.”
“He has literally melted down our border with Mexico,” he said. “Four million illegal aliens have not only come in, but have been invited in.”
“That’s larger than some states,” he added, as he pointed to the fact that many are “diseased,” “criminals,” or “drug carriers,” often appearing as “gang members.”
Noting the problem “isn’t abating,” Savage accused the media of turning US Border Patrol agents into “dummies.”
“They’re made into the enemy of America instead of the guardians of America,” he lamented.
Afghanistan Withdrawal
He called attention to Biden’s actions in Afghanistan, which he urged Americans to “never forget.”
“A shamble of a withdrawal from Afghanistan, [it is] one of the low points of his presidency and one of the lowest points of American foreign policy since the fall of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War,” he said. “He left $175 billion of military equipment picked up by Islamic radicals.”
In addition, Savage stated, the Biden administration “assured the country that the withdrawal would be orderly and the Afghanistan government was stable upon America’s departure.”
Calling it a “massive failure of intelligence” after the Afghan government collapsed and the radical Taliban took over the country in just weeks, Savage also detailed how Biden “abandoned our Afghani partners,” and armed terrorists.
“He gave equipment to the Taliban and other Islamic radicals — American equipment — they’re now wearing American uniforms and driving around in American Humvees,” he said.
Energy Dependence
Savage also accused Biden of “taking us back to energy dependence.”
Though during the Trump presidency, the US “became a net exporter of oil for the first time in 75 years,” according to Savage, the “psychos in the Biden administration took away this strategy.”
“Instead, these sickos encourage an increase in green energy at the expense of fossil fuels and good clean nuclear energy,” he said.
“These renewable energy zealots are a long way from meeting global energy needs, and Biden put more regulatory burdens on the oil and natural gas industry slowing its production considerably,” he added.
Most importantly, Savage argued, “the nutcases in the Biden administration shut down the Keystone XL pipeline project to move oil from Canada to the United States while effectively greenlighting the financing of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline to carry natural gas to Germany.”
Domestic Threat
Addressing the “disaster of the Joe Biden presidency,” of which “we’re only halfway through,” Savage insisted “our country is facing an existential threat, where an enemy within has finally shown its face, and it’s nakedly saying it wants to destroy and intimidate its way into a transformed state and nation, a transformed nation that we cannot recognize.”
He also compared the Biden administration to a “radical vigilante woke mob that knocks down and steamrolls anything and anyone that gets in their way:”
They attack the American way in a clear and intensifying manner. They stifle dissent. They’re using the FBI as a personal Gestapo. They publicly shame parents who stand up to the perverse agendas of the radical, perverse left. They encouraged the violence of Antifa and Black Lives Matter. They perverted, distorted the realities of our great history, not only tearing down monuments and buildings, but tearing down the American spirit itself.
Savage then accused the current administration of encouraging the “mobs of wokesters” to “go after the family unit, go after parental rights, go after the traditional moral values, tear down the meaning of the church, [and] tear down fact-based education.”
“We’re all watching as this evil group tries to brainwash our young babies into thinking we live in an evil, racist, irredeemable nation,” he said.
The Biden administration, Savage argued, has “denied science and data.”
“They say that a boy is a girl and a girl is a boy if they say they are such.”
In addition, “they trample over personal liberties that are enshrined in the Constitution, throwing teachers out of jobs who refuse to bend their knee to their perverse agenda,” he continued. “They take to the streets like criminals, burning, looting and destroying everything in sight while we are told by the vermin in the media that these are mostly peaceful and passionate protests.”
Big Tech and Media
Savage also called out “big tech moguls in Silicon Valley” as “the only arbiters of truth, deciding who gets to speak and who gets silenced through the digital public squares that they own.”
“We watch the legacy media muffle legitimately verifiable news stories that do not align with their preferred narrative, only to see the truth seep out months later at a more politically expedient time,” he said.
“The enemy within has taken over media,” he added.
Noting that “corporate boards, professional sports, foundations, [and] professional institutions have steamrolled and left no corner of our lives untouched,” Savage suggested what could be done in response.
“The first thing to do is have knowledge of what the enemy within is doing to us,” he proposed. “Only by knowing what they’re doing to us can we stand up to defeat their false pretenses and predetermined narratives and false promises.”
As a result, Savage argued, “we must know more about Biden than we already know,” as he ripped the media for its portrayal of the “disaster” taking place at the southern border.
“The security at the southern border is an ongoing disaster, given almost no coverage by the worthless stooges in the legacy media,” he said. “The Jake Tappers, the Wolf Blitzers; they are nothing but mouthpieces for a Stalinist regime.”
“The massive spike in border crossings [was] initially excused by the Biden allies in the media as a ‘seasonal problem,’” he added. “Yeah, well, it was really ‘seasonal.’ It was called ‘open borders’ season.”
COVID-19
Savage then slammed the Biden administration’s “authoritarian COVID-19 mandates” whereby “private employers and other organizations with over 100 [or] more employees [were] to enforce a vaccine mandate, despite [Biden] saying that he didn’t think it was exactly constitutional.”
“This liar tried to turn us all into guinea pigs for this unproven vaccine, not really tested except on a massive population,” he added. “And we still do not know what the long-term effects of this vaccine are.”
Crime
In addition, Biden’s presidency has seen “an explosion of violent crime” that began in the summer of 2020, Savage stated, in a trend that was “exacerbated by the Democrat-controlled media tied in with the ‘defund the police’ movement.”
“In fact, because many Democrat-run cities made good on this slogan by defunding their police departments and stemming the use of proactive policing, the criminals are running wild in the streets: rapes, murders, beatings, robberies, break-ins,” he said.
“Cities that defunded police agencies make the list of places with the largest increases in violent crime,” he added.
However, Savage noted that now “these so-called city leaders are changing their tune and restoring police funding after much of the damage has been done, but it will never be good again because not only have the police been defunded, they have been demoralized.”
“They’ve been turned into the bad guys instead of the good guys,” he added. “How many times over the years did I tell you that the thin blue line was the only thing standing between us and total and absolute anarchy? I was right.”
Economy & Ukraine
On the economy, Savage noted today’s rising inflation as he called out the president for having said inflation would be a “temporary problem” his administration had a handle on.
“Right now we have unchecked inflation,” he said. “And they can’t control it because they’re printing money, and they’re spending money on a foreign war that nobody voted for.”
Savage blamed President Biden for having “dragged us into a proxy war against Russia.”
“We all want to see poor little Ukraine survive. We all don’t like the evil wolf or the big bear of Russia. But putting aside what we like and don’t like, it’s not our business,” he said.
“Putting aside the fact that he’s sending our military equipment and billions and billions of our money, billions and billions of our tax dollars, to Ukraine,” Savage continued, “how much of it is being tracked?”
“How do you know how much of this money isn’t going into the pockets of the corrupt officials in Ukraine? How much of it is being kicked back to Democrat officials in America? Do we know?” he asked.
Trump Supporters
However, “worst of all,” Savage argued, is that President Biden “attacked Trump supporters.”
“He called those of us who support Donald Trump a threat to democracy. He used U.S. Marines as political props during [his] September 1 Mussolini speech in Philadelphia,” he said. “The president said ‘We’re not bystanders in this ongoing attack on democracy. There are far more Americans from every background and belief that reject the extreme MAGA ideology than those that accept it.’”
Addressing the president, Savage asserted that “most Americans accept the MAGA ideology.”
“What does it really stand for? It stands for ‘America First,’” he said.
“That’s not a good thing, Biden?” he asked. “It stands for borders, language and culture. That’s not American, Mr. Biden? Which side are you on, Mr. Biden?”
Savage concluded by stating that “some of us can see the future, some of us can see around corners.”
“I hope you understand,” he said. “I’m one of those.”
Last month, following the FBI raid on former President Trump’s estate, Savage accused the Biden administration of having brought a “nightmare” upon America as it “dragged us into the Dark Ages” and “raped half the nation,” as he slammed hypocritical “liberals” for “cheering” on “fascism.”

Since its inauguration, the Biden administration has displayed its absolute contempt for freedom and democracy.
Some examples:
The January 6 probe 's sole function is to prevent President Trump from running in 2024. Parents who opposed the teaching of Critical Race Theory to young children were branded as domestic terrorists . The Disinformation Governance Board 's function is to intimidate citizens from freely expressing themselves. Biden recently called Trump supporters " the most extreme political organization that's existed in recent American history."
The Democrat government-ordered vaccine and mask mandates encroached upon freedom of choice and lockdowns that restricted the movement of citizens.
But beyond these overarching anti-Democratic acts, the Biden administration has also baselessly targeted specific political opponents.
Tucker Carlson reminded his viewers of political opponents who have been targeted since Biden’s inauguration in his monologue yesterday.
The following is the gist of what Carlson referred to:
On Jan. 27, 2021, days after Biden's inauguration, the Justice Department arrested Douglass Mackey, known online as Ricky Vaughn for creating Internet memes that made fun of Hillary Clinton.
On Feb. 3, 2021, the FBI raided the homes of Russell Taylor and Alan Hostetter for organized a lawful political rally on January 6 for which they had a permit.
On April 28, 2021, the FBI seized the cell phones and computers belonging to Trump’s former lawyer , Rudy Giuliani, despite not charging him. This was a violation of client-attorney privilege
On June 24, 2021, the FBI raided the home of a Giuliani associate, George Dixon who was working on a documentary about Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and their shady business dealings in Ukraine.
On Jan. 19, 2021, Infowars's Owen Shroyer was arrested and charged because he told the crowd on January 6, "Today we march for the Capitol because on this historic January 6, 2021, we have to let our congressmen and women know, and we have to let Mike Pence know, that they stole the election."
On Nov. 6, 2021, the FBI raided the homes of journalists who work for Project Veritas and the organization's founder, James O'Keefe. They reported on a diary written by Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley, in which she revealed, that Biden behaved inappropriately with her which made her a sex addict later in life.
On Nov. 15, 2021, the Justice Department arrested one of the most prominent critics of Biden and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon for refusing to cooperate with the January 6 probe.
On Nov. 16, 2021, the FBI raided the home of Sherrona Bishop, a former campaign manager for Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado. The FBI confiscated Bishop's cell phone but never charged her with a crime.
Also on Nov. 16, 2021, the FBI raided the home of Mesa County Republican Clerk Tina Peters. Peters had questions about the legitimacy of the last election.
On June 3, Peter Navarro, a trade aide to Donald Trump, was arrested at Washington National Airport, put in leg irons, and sent to jail. Navarro had sued the January 6 Committee, he claimed executive privilege in his communications with the president .
On June 9 of this year, the FBI arrested a leading Republican candidate for governor of Michigan Ryan Kelley. Kelley had participated in the January 6 protests.
On June 22, the FBI seized the phone of former Trump attorney John Eastman in a parking lot. Eastman wasn’t even presented with a warrant.
On June 23, the FBI searched the home of former Trump DOJ official Jeff Clark . The search came one day before the January 6 Committee held a televised hearing claiming Clark had a role in attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
The Biden administration has also targeted the January 6 protestors. Some of the protestors were placed in solitary confinement for prolonged periods of time. Such was the torment that one among them committed suicide.
The criminalizing of political opponents only occurs in third-world dictatorships where the despot wants to leave no stone unturned in his monopoly on power and the narrative. All opposition is outlawed. Questioning journalists, members of the opposition party, protestors, activists, and even artists are targeted.
These are not the kind of occurrences expected in one of the world's leading democracies.
The goal behind these arrests, confiscations, and raids is to outlaw political opposition and association with political opponents.
The targeting is also supposed to function as a deterrent.
Most people just don't want the hassle of being arrested in public or having their devices confiscated so they stay away from Trump or the GOP and keep their ideas to themselves.
If Trump wins in 2024, there may be several talented individuals, perhaps in the private sector, who could serve in Trump's cabinet present fresh ideas, or even run for president themselves later and work toward the betterment of the nation. But they look at the various witch hunts and choose to stay away because they do not want any suffering or the destruction of their reputation. The result is progress is halted and Washington's stale and inept ideas prevail.
This is how the power grab succeeds.
In addition to the overt targeting of opponents. The Democrats also want to make elections irrelevant. They infiltrate election infrastructure. They also amended electoral laws to enable fraud. They use big tech and suppress stories critical of Democrats and concoct stories about their opponents. The list of assaults on Democracy is relentless. It is ironic that they even call themselves Democrats.
They leave the border open and allow an uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens. They even attempted to give voting rights to non-citizens in local elections. The attempt failed, perhaps they will try again or resort to fast-track citizenship for illegal migrants, hoping to increase their vote base.
Unabashedly working alongside the Democrats in this power grab is the news media.
Once upon a time, a few papers and TV channels had a monopoly over the news. They could push whatever narrative they desired and consumers really had very little choice.
Those days are over. The consumer now has numerous news sources to draw from. The facts can no longer be suppressed. However, the undesired side effect of the news boom is consumers have volatile short-term memories.
They may remember minute details about a news broadcast when the Berlin Wall came down, but they may not recall any details about an explosive news story from the previous day.
This volatile memory often enables the powerful to incrementally commit violations. Each violation may seem insignificant on its own, but put together we see a trend.
When the state of affairs descends into chaos, the opposition has a function to beat the drums of warning to inform the citizens.
In addition to high inflation, surging gas prices, and the open border this authoritarian power grab should be a leading campaign issue.

Try to imagine a President doing a worse job than Joe Biden. Think about how that would even be possible. Would they have to set the White House on fire while vomiting on Boris Johnson? Maybe a President in a Nyquil-induced stupor trying to start a nuclear war with Canada? Jimmy Carter on his worst day couldn’t hold a candle Joe Biden on his best, provided Biden ends up having a best day.
Remember this one: “I’m gonna ask the public for 100 days to mask, just 100 days to mask. Not forever, 100 days. And I think we’ll see a significant reduction if we occur that, if, if, if, if that occurs with vaccinations and masking to drive down the numbers considerably, considerably”? That was Joe Biden 1 year ago Friday, part of his “plan” he swore he had to “shutdown the virus.” How’d that work out again?
Has there ever been a bigger disconnect between what a candidate for President promised and what they delivered? It’s not even that Biden tried and failed, it’s that the entire premise of his campaign was a lie. He had no plan, he had no clue. All he had was an objective and handlers determined to get him there, for their own reasons.
It’s unclear to me that Joe Biden ever wanted anything more than the trappings that go with being President of the United States – the house, the being waited on hand and foot, and most importantly to a career politician with wild insecurity and unrivaled narcissism like Joe, the guarantee of being remembered. Senators are forgotten, quickly, Presidents are remembered forever. Someone who loves themselves as much as Joe does, who desperately needs others to love him just as much, that matters.
There’s also the added bonus that former Democratic Party Presidents are showered with money after their term, often times by the industries they pretended to “fight” when they were running. And Joe Biden loves money. He made a bunch after his stint as Vice President on the prospect that he would run in 2020 (leftists hedge their bets and spread their money around). That’s, of course, in addition to the millions his family raked in through Hunter’s string of jobs and contracts for which he was wildly unqualified. Joe pretends he isn’t, but he’s all about the money.
But to get to the rewards of being a former Democrat President, those Presidents tend to want to accomplish some things; they usually believe in things. Joe Biden believes in nothing. His biggest, and really only accomplishment in the Senate was the 1994 crime bill and he had to denounce it because Democrats had gone from being against crime and supporting police to supporting criminals and wanting to defund police.
On abortion, Biden changed his tune completely as well. There isn’t a person serving his administration, either in the White House or the media, who won’t insist Joe labored between running for President or becoming Pope, such a devout Catholic is he. And in his time in the Senate he used to pretend to be personally against abortion, but refused to allow his religious beliefs to dictate his policy positions. It was and is BS, but many politicians play this game (looking at you, Nancy Pelosi).
Now, he’s no longer pretending. The party of “safe, legal, and rare” abortions is now the party of abortions for everyone, on demand, with no restrictions on when. It won’t be long, maybe 5 years, before they start advocating post-birth abortions, taxpayer funded, of course. That’s where Democrats are now, so that’s where Joe Biden is now. Biden is such a weathervane on everything, and always has been, that he’d perform abortions in the White House if that’s what the fringe of his party demanded.

That Joe Biden hasn’t come close to fulfilling any campaign promises, or even that those promises were made, is a testament to what he was willing to do to get the job. Just imagine what he’s willing to do to keep it. Even scarier, just imagine how much worse things have the potential of getting as he works to do just that.

Hunter told The New Yorker in 2019 that he got the diamond from the chairman of CEFC, following a dinner in Miami, but insisted he gave it away because he “just felt like it was weird.” The younger Biden also insisted the diamond was not a bribe.

However, according to emails on the first son’s hard drive, the “extremely valuable” diamond was brought up as a sticking point in his divorce with now-ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who claimed Hunter was in possession of it.
In a 2017 email, Buhle’s lawyer demands Hunter “provide proof that the diamond has been placed in a safety deposit box – accessible only by both parties together – by noon tomorrow or we will have no choice but to ask the court, on an emergency basis, to enjoin his further dissipation of assets, including the diamond.”
The “Laptop From Hell” also contains a photo of an appraisal of the diamond.
The “gift” from the vanished Chinese energy tycoon is reportedly part of the ongoing probe into the first son, according to CNN .

Hunter Biden developed a close working relationship with CEFC China Energy Co. Chairman and majority owner Ye Jianming beginning at the end of 2015. Ye had a number of ties to Chinese military intelligence and his company provided energy to China’s People’s Liberation Army, according to reporting by Breitbart News Senior contributor Peter Schweizer, in his bestselling book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends .
Through Ye, Hunter established a relationship with his associate Patrick Ho, who Hunter Biden called “the fucking spy chief of China” in a phone call.
In his business relationship with CEFC, via Ye and Ho, the Biden scion raked in about $5 million in energy deals, despite having no experience in the East Asian energy industry.
Ho was eventually arrested in New York City on bribery charges by the FBI in November 2017, and when that happened, his first phone call from jail was to James Biden, seeking Hunter. Ye was disappeared by Chinese authorities in 2018.

Hunter Biden is trying to avoid child support for his Arkansas child
Hunter Biden is trying to scale down the child support he pays for his four-year-old daughter with Lunden Roberts, a former stripper in Arkansas. While Roberts seems to be a lovely mother, Hunter is a disgrace of a father, first refusing to acknowledge the child and then, despite living an excessive Los Angeles lifestyle for a couple of years, doing his best to stiff the little girl.
One of the great mysteries about Hunter Biden is how he’s able to get so many women into his bed. His first wife seems to have been a very decent woman. Then, he had an affair with his dead brother’s widow. Somewhere along the line, he got into bed with Lunden Roberts, whom he impregnated, only to refuse to acknowledge the child of that union. Following that sordid (the only word) affair, Hunter suddenly married a seemingly successful South African filmmaker. Along the way, as his hard drive shows, he’s also had an endless supply of paid women he’s bedded. Let’s just say I wouldn’t ever want to shake his hand or even touch anything he’s touched first.
On top of this compulsive womanizing was Hunter’s compulsive drug use. Again, as his hard drive shows, Biden used so many drugs that it’s something of a miracle that he’s still alive.

Through those years, there was always money, lots and lots of money. Thanks to his father’s political connections and willingness to sell influence, literally tens of millions of dollars have passed through Hunter’s hands. It’s true that Hunter complains in one of the many missives on his hard drive that he was expected to help support an apparently greedy family with all this money, something that included giving half to Joe himself. However, Hunter’s 50% was still more money than many people will see in a lifetime.
Over the past three years, after having married his second wife, Hunter was living in a $ 12,000-a-month mansion in the Hollywood Hills and driving a very nice Porsche . In addition, his flirtation with “art” to prove he was off drugs was pretty lucrative too. Five of his prints sold for $75,000 each . Other artworks were priced from $300,000-$500,000. Nobody knows if those works sold and, if so, to whom or for how much.
When it comes to poor little Navy, though, Hunter somehow can never find the money. In 2019, when Roberts was finally able to prove through DNA that Hunter was Navy’s father, Hunter announced that he was too poor to pay for the child, despite all the money he’s made. His claim was that his first wife and the three children they had together were draining him try.
Now, he’s back in court again claiming that he’s too poor to pay for Navy’s upkeep. In his motion , Hunter claims a “substantial material change” in his “financial circumstances, including but not limited to his income....”
I’m a cynical person, so I can think of a few reasons for this “substantial material change”: One, he’s started using again. It’s a good bet that much of the money he earned in the past went into his crackpipe or up his nose. Addicts are notoriously unable to hang onto money, and Hunter was no exception. Two, now that Joe is completely in the spotlight in the Oval Office, Hunter’s grift has finally ended. Joe can no longer put him in the path of foreign countries that want to buy influence in the White House. Three, Hunter deeply resents Roberts’ daring to come after him—a Biden!—and is making her life difficult just to make her life difficult.
The most exciting thing about this whole sordid, depressing affair is what Robert’s attorney has to say: “Ultimately, this is going to require us to look deeply, more deeply, into Hunter’s finances.” Yes, please! I can think of few things that could be more revealing for the entire Biden clan than a look at those finances. This would be a more informative search, I bet, than the FBI’s tax fraud investigation will probably prove to be.
Ultimately, there’s something very wrong in the Biden family. Joe’s two surviving children—Ashley and Hunter—have both had sex and drug problems. While I know Roberts wants a fair deal for her little Navy, and that it’s incredibly insulting that Joe Biden pretends the child doesn’t exist while Hunter keeps trying to stiff her, it strikes me that Roberts would be wisest to keep as far away as possible from the Bidens. Everybody who comes near Joe and Hunter seems to end up broken.

The new film My Son Hunter includes a scene in which the fictionalized Hunter Biden proudly boasts of the million-dollar deals he made with Chinese businessmen, only to appear momentarily chagrined when reminded that Beijing was committing genocide while Hunter and his partners were happily raking in Chinese cash.
The scene briskly dramatizes Hunter going into business with Ye Jianming, once a high-flying Chinese oil tycoon and youthful “princeling” of the Chinese Communist Party, who came to a mysterious and probably very unhappy end after he became an embarrassment to the regime in Beijing.
In the movie, as apparently in life, Hunter seemed untroubled by Ye’s links to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Chinese intelligence. The Biden scion became part of Ye’s lavishly-funded effort to develop influential connections in the United States, as extensively chronicled in Peter Schweizer’s bestselling book Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win.

The Biden family made millions dealing with Ye and other questionable Chinese tycoons, facilitating deals in both the U.S. and abroad. Hunter, for example, partnered with a Chinese state-owned, PLA-linked shipping company that attempted to buy the national railroad of Greece in a bid to push Beijing’s colonialist Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) into Europe.
My Son Hunter depicts Ye developing both a business relationship and friendship with Hunter. The shooting-star Chinese billionaire seems greatly amused by Hunter’s penchant for scoring high-six-figure salaries and astronomical consulting fees despite being a human train wreck with no relevant business skills. Hunter sarcastically attributes his success to his “superpower,” which the movie dramatizes as a spectral Joe Biden floating around Hunter’s business meetings wearing a superhero cape.
The emails uncovered in Hunter’s “laptop from hell” shed new light on Ye and his CEFC China Energy mega-corporation, including revelations about Ye’s role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
One of the emails discussed Hunter potentially taking on a chairmanship or vice-chairmanship in a venture with CEFC, with perks including an $850,000 salary and a hefty share of equity in the newly formed company. This was the email that included the now-infamous, but evidently not infamous enough, comment that ten percent of the equity would be “held by H for the Big Guy.”
My Son Hunter frequently hectors corporate media for not being very curious about the details of these murky business arrangements, or the coded references made to various parties in Hunter’s laptop files. The film leaves viewers with no doubt as to who “the Big Guy” was.
The movie dramatizes the beginning of the end for Ye Jianming, when a top member of his organization named Patrick Ho was arrested in 2017 by U.S. federal agents over a bribery scandal in Uganda. Ho immediately called Hunter’s uncle James Biden for help; James Biden claimed Ho was actually trying to get in touch with Hunter.
Ho’s arrest triggered the extremely rapid downfall of CEFC, which was officially declared bankrupt in 2020 after Chinese financial media exposed its finances as “a house of cards, precariously stacked on loans to cover loans.” Ye Jianming vanished without a trace a few days after these reports began appearing.
My Son Hunter also makes prominent mention of Face++, a division of a Chinese company called Megvii that developed a system for intensively monitoring the Uyghur people. Human rights activists have long denounced the pervasive surveillance state established by China in the Uyghur homeland of East Turkistan, which the Chinese government refers to as Xinjiang province.
Face++ caused a fresh uproar when it reportedly developed a facial-recognition system that could spot individuals of Uyghur ethnicity, a capability that was supposed to be incorporated into a phone app that would help Chinese police monitor Uyghurs with a horrifying level of detail.

Hunter told The New Yorker in 2019 that he got the diamond from the chairman of CEFC, following a dinner in Miami, but insisted he gave it away because he “just felt like it was weird.” The younger Biden also insisted the diamond was not a bribe.

However, according to emails on the first son’s hard drive, the “extremely valuable” diamond was brought up as a sticking point in his divorce with now-ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who claimed Hunter was in possession of it.
In a 2017 email, Buhle’s lawyer demands Hunter “provide proof that the diamond has been placed in a safety deposit box – accessible only by both parties together – by noon tomorrow or we will have no choice but to ask the court, on an emergency basis, to enjoin his further dissipation of assets, including the diamond.”
The “Laptop From Hell” also contains a photo of an appraisal of the diamond.
The “gift” from the vanished Chinese energy tycoon is reportedly part of the ongoing probe into the first son, according to CNN .

Congress Wants Answers on How China’s Slave Labor Goods Are Getting Into US Admin ignores law that bans products made by Uyghur slave labor

Congressional investigators recently found that grocery stores around the country, including in Washington, D.C., and its surrounding suburbs, are selling red jujube dates, an Asian fruit that is produced and packaged using Uyghur slave labor in China's contested Xinjiang province. A coalition of 27 Republican lawmakers is demanding answers from the Treasury Department and Customs and Border Protection about how these goods are making their way to American shelves and enriching Communist companies that rely on slave labor, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon .
Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which was passed in June, the importation of Chinese Communist Party goods that are produced with Uyghur slave labor is illegal. But this has not stopped a sanctioned Chinese company known as XPCC from selling its jujube dates to a middleman, Qingdao Daochuan Food Company Limited, which offloads the products to a Brooklyn-based distributor, according to the lawmakers. The sanctions-busting scheme, congressional sources say, is reminiscent of tactics used by the Iranian regime to skirt similar human rights sanctions. The appearance of these products in the United States is fueling accusations that the Biden administration is failing to uphold the law.
"Selling products made by Uyghur slave labor is both illegal under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and morally abhorrent," Rep. Mike Gallagher (R., Wis.), one of the letter's signers, told the Free Beacon . "Customs and Border Patrol has been directed by Congress to ensure no goods made in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region are permitted to enter American markets, and the presence of these red dates in American grocery stores is a clear failure by the Biden administration to enforce this law."
XPCC, the company producing the dates, is a Chinese state-owned economic and paramilitary organization operating in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, or XUAR. The company was first hit with sanctions in 2020 for human rights violations, and all U.S. persons and entities are barred from conducting transactions with it.
But jujube dates produced by XPCC were recently found in several locations, including a supermarket in the D.C. suburbs, according to photographic evidence taken by a congressional staffer and presented in the letter. The packaging "unambiguously indicates that XPCC is the producer," the lawmakers write, adding that some of the products are even "labeled with XPCC branding—a logo of XPCC soldiers saluting a red communist banner printed on the bags themselves."
Third-party sellers on Amazon also are selling versions of these dates.
The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act "mandates that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detain all products" emanating from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region "on presumption that the goods were produced with forced labor," the lawmakers write. Still, exports from the region "hit a two-year high," raising questions about the Biden administration's enforcement efforts.
"The fact that the red jujube dates sourced from XUAR are widely available in the U.S., even through online retailers such as Amazon and often explicitly having XPCC symbols, raises important questions about how serious [Customs and Border Protection] is enforcing U.S. laws against China's forced labor practices," the letter states.
The lawmakers are demanding the Treasury Department and Border Patrol disclose how many shipments of red jujube dates have been allowed into the United States since sanctions went into effect and explain why XPCC is not facing any civil penalties. They also want to know if Qingdao Daochuan Food Company Limited, the alleged middleman in the transactions, could be found "complicit in serious human rights abuse."
"U.S. supermarkets are carrying XPCC-labeled products with Communist imagery," Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), who helped spearhead the letter along with Gallagher and Rep. Mike Waltz (R., Fla.), told the Free Beacon . "The Biden administration isn't taking the issue of Uyghur forced labor seriously and is failing to enforce bipartisan laws prohibiting business with entities using Uyghur forced labor."

The report did not use the word "genocide."
The report, which was released by the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, found that China has undertaken "arbitrary and discriminatory detention" of Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities and that "allegations of sexual and gender-based violence, including of rape," were credible.
Both the United States and an independent tribunal in the United Kingdom have declared China's actions to be genocide.
U.N. investigators had the report on High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet's desk nearly a year ago, the Times reported, but Bachelet, a former socialist president of Chile, delayed releasing it. Bachelet, whose term ended minutes after her office released the report, visited China in May, where she praised Communist Party officials and failed to mention the Uyghur genocide.
Bachelet said at a recent news conference that "she had given priority to reaching agreement with Beijing."
International Service for Human Rights program director Sarah M. Brooks told the Times that the report is "the bare minimum" Bachelet and her office could have done. Diplomats in Beijing told the paper that the late release prevents Western governments and human rights groups from building "a robust response in the Human Rights Council, which starts its last session of the year in 12 days."
The Trump administration pulled the United States out of the U.N. Human Rights Council, which has embraced anti-Semitism and covered up for human rights abusers such as China and Russia. The United States rejoined the council under the Biden administration.

Former ambassador Max Baucus has given at least four different interviews to Chinese propaganda outlets in the last two weeks, repeatedly comparing the U.S. rhetoric about China to both the McCarthy era and Nazi Germany.
"Joe McCarthy [and] Adolf Hitler … rallied people up, making people believe things that were really not true," Baucus said during a May 12 interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), a regime mouthpiece. "The White House and some in Congress are making statements against China that are so over the top and so hypercritical, they are based not on the fact, or if they are based on fact, sheer demagoguery, and that's what McCarthy did in the 1950s."
Since his retirement in 2017, Baucus has been a reliable critic of the Trump administration's increasingly confrontational China policy—chiefly the decision to wage a trade war with Beijing. He once warned that the White House's decision to impose additional tariffs was a "slap on the face" to China. But Baucus's recent comments in the pandemic era have been more sympathetic to China—and critical of the United States—than ever before.
His post-retirement public statements praising China have coincided with his burgeoning overseas investments. In 2017, he founded the Baucus Group, a consulting firm that advises both American and Chinese businesses, according to his U.S. Chamber of Commerce biography . He also sits on the board of directors for Ingram Micro, a U.S. subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned conglomerate, as well as the board of advisers for Alibaba Group, one of China's largest tech companies.
Walter Lohman, director of the Asian Studies Center at the Heritage Foundation, said that it was "inappropriate" for a former ambassador to speak ill about his own government on a foreign propaganda outlet.
"It's like going to China and … talking about your own government that way in meetings. I think that would be pretty inappropriate," Lohman said. "So it would be inappropriate speaking on state media."
Baucus's public statements have received considerable attention from Beijing's propaganda outlets. When the former ambassador compared President Donald Trump's criticism of China to rhetoric used by Adolf Hitler and Joe McCarthy during a May 6 interview with CNN, Chinese propaganda outlets quickly amplified Baucus's comments about how Trump was "a little bit like Hitler in the '30s" and that Americans were worried about "getting their heads chopped off" if they voice their disagreement with the U.S. government's China policy. Xinhua News Agency, a state-owned outlet, extensively cited Baucus's attacks in a May 8 article, using it as evidence that the Trump administration is attempting to "deflect criticisms about their blunders by blaming China." The article was syndicated in party-controlled mouthpieces such as Global Times and People's Daily , according to the Investigative Research Center.
Baucus then appeared on CGTN on May 12 to double down on his Hitler and McCarthy comparison, blaming the Trump administration for flaming "sheer demagoguery."
"[The current U.S. rhetoric] is somewhat reminiscent, nowhere close to that yet, somewhat reminiscent of the McCarthy era and somewhat reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s," he told CGTN.
The former ambassador also gave an exclusive interview to Global Times on May 14, where he said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's claim that the virus may have originated in a Wuhan laboratory "makes no sense" and accused both Democrats and Republicans of being tough on China to score political points in an election year.
Baucus again appeared on CGTN on May 15, where he claimed that America is "sliding toward a form of McCarthyism" because the Trump administration is pressuring policymakers to be tough on China. The former ambassador did another CGTN media hit on May 16, this time appearing alongside his wife Melodee Hanes, who blamed the presidential election for making dialogue "difficult."
"There are a lot of pretty smart people in the United States who are not speaking up. People in office, moderates, especially moderates on the Republican side," Baucus said on May 15. "They are afraid to speak up, they are intimidated, intimidated by President Trump. And it's kind of sliding toward a form of McCarthyism—how it is politically incorrect to speak the truth, speak the truth to power."
When the Washington Free Beacon called the phone number listed for Baucus's home address, no one answered. A lawyer representing Baucus Group, the ambassador's consulting firm, also did not respond to a request for comment.
While Baucus rarely enjoyed this much attention from Chinese state media outlets after his retirement, this is not the first time he has spoken to Chinese media outlets in recent years. Baucus also gave an exclusive interview to People's Daily in March 2018, criticizing U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods as the "wrong policy" and "too confrontational." He has also spoken at events backed by the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation, a registered foreign agent of the Chinese government according to a 2018 congressional report.
Lohman, the Heritage Foundation expert, said that while Baucus has the right to appear on any domestic and foreign outlets, he should not have addressed a propaganda outlet with the same degree of candidness that he did with CNN.
"I think he must have gotten wrapped up in the media performances because when you shift from CNN to Global Times or CGTN, you've gone to an entirely new level," he said. "And there I think you just have to express yourself differently. It's not an appropriate place to air political differences."

Worse, 23% of Americans believe that the country is on the right track, while 71% of those polled say America is on the wrong track. We are five months from the congressional elections, and it currently appears that the Democrats will lose control of both the House and the Senate.
Biden's embrace of open borders and green energy policies is very unpopular with the general public. Still, it's very popular with the far left of his party, who are currently calling the shots. I fear that Biden is too old and feeble to make course corrections as Clinton once did. With Harris as vice president, we are stuck with Moonlight Joe until January 2025. Sixty-two percent of registered voters believe President Joe Biden likely consulted and perhaps profited from Biden family business deals, a Tuesday Rasmussen poll found.
Only one-third of respondents said they do not believe Joe Biden was likely consulted about his family’s business dealings with CCP-linked companies.
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters August 31-September 1, 2022 with a three point margin of error.
April polling revealed 58 percent of voters believed Joe Biden played a role in his family’s business. Sixty percent said Hunter Biden has sold “influence and access” to the president.
The polling comes after overwhelming evidence suggests that Joe Biden has been involved in his family’s business deals since 2012, when he was vice president. Joe Biden and his staff have claimed seven times Joe Biden has had no part in the family scheme, but 17 instances show otherwise.
“I’ve never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings. Here’s what I know — I know Trump deserves to be investigated,” Joe Biden claimed in 2020.
“It’s a smear campaign,” he said another time in October of 2020. “My son has no made money from China,” he reiterated a few days afterward.
But texts from Hunter’s laptop indicate Joe Biden received 50 percent of Hunter’s “salary” for a 30-year period. The reported texts do not reveal when the 30 years began or ended and whether Joe Biden is still a part of the payment scheme as president.
“I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years,” Hunter texted his daughter. “It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike Pop [Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary.”
According to former Utah U.S. attorney Brett Tolman, the Biden family’s payment mechanism of collecting 50 percent of family salaries for 30 years could be legal “predicates” for racketeering charges.
Trump-appointed United States prosecutor David Weiss is deliberating whether Hunter and associates “violated money laundering, campaign finance, tax and foreign lobbying laws, as well as whether Hunter Biden broke federal firearm and other regulations,” CNN reported . A grand jury has been convened in the probe, whereby a witness who testified before the jury was reportedly asked to identify the “big guy.”
The “big guy” refers to Joe Biden potentially receiving a 10 percent cut of a deal with a now defunct CCP-linked company, according to former business associate of Hunter, Tony Bobulinski, who personally met with Joe and Hunter Biden in 2017 for an hour to discuss “the Bidens’ family business plans with the Chinese.”
Bobulinski later came forward as a whistleblower and reportedly handed over intelligence about Biden family business dealings to former FBI “point man” Timothy Thibault, the New York Post reported . Yet Thibault, who left the bureau in August, reportedly never followed up on Bobulinski’s information. Bobulinski has also never reportedly testified before the Delaware grand jury probing Hunter.

The new film My Son Hunter includes a scene in which the fictionalized Hunter Biden proudly boasts of the million-dollar deals he made with Chinese businessmen, only to appear momentarily chagrined when reminded that Beijing was committing genocide while Hunter and his partners were happily raking in Chinese cash.
The scene briskly dramatizes Hunter going into business with Ye Jianming, once a high-flying Chinese oil tycoon and youthful “princeling” of the Chinese Communist Party, who came to a mysterious and probably very unhappy end after he became an embarrassment to the regime in Beijing.
In the movie, as apparently in life, Hunter seemed untroubled by Ye’s links to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Chinese intelligence. The Biden scion became part of Ye’s lavishly-funded effort to develop influential connections in the United States, as extensively chronicled in Peter Schweizer’s bestselling book Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win.

The Biden family made millions dealing with Ye and other questionable Chinese tycoons, facilitating deals in both the U.S. and abroad. Hunter, for example, partnered with a Chinese state-owned, PLA-linked shipping company that attempted to buy the national railroad of Greece in a bid to push Beijing’s colonialist Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) into Europe.
My Son Hunter depicts Ye developing both a business relationship and friendship with Hunter. The shooting-star Chinese billionaire seems greatly amused by Hunter’s penchant for scoring high-six-figure salaries and astronomical consulting fees despite being a human train wreck with no relevant business skills. Hunter sarcastically attributes his success to his “superpower,” which the movie dramatizes as a spectral Joe Biden floating around Hunter’s business meetings wearing a superhero cape.
The emails uncovered in Hunter’s “laptop from hell” shed new light on Ye and his CEFC China Energy mega-corporation, including revelations about Ye’s role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
One of the emails discussed Hunter potentially taking on a chairmanship or vice-chairmanship in a venture with CEFC, with perks including an $850,000 salary and a hefty share of equity in the newly formed company. This was the email that included the now-infamous, but evidently not infamous enough, comment that ten percent of the equity would be “held by H for the Big Guy.”
My Son Hunter frequently hectors corporate media for not being very curious about the details of these murky business arrangements, or the coded references made to various parties in Hunter’s laptop files. The film leaves viewers with no doubt as to who “the Big Guy” was.
The movie dramatizes the beginning of the end for Ye Jianming, when a top member of his organization named Patrick Ho was arrested in 2017 by U.S. federal agents over a bribery scandal in Uganda. Ho immediately called Hunter’s uncle James Biden for help; James Biden claimed Ho was actually trying to get in touch with Hunter.
Ho’s arrest triggered the extremely rapid downfall of CEFC, which was officially declared bankrupt in 2020 after Chinese financial media exposed its finances as “a house of cards, precariously stacked on loans to cover loans.” Ye Jianming vanished without a trace a few days after these reports began appearing.
My Son Hunter also makes prominent mention of Face++, a division of a Chinese company called Megvii that developed a system for intensively monitoring the Uyghur people. Human rights activists have long denounced the pervasive surveillance state established by China in the Uyghur homeland of East Turkistan, which the Chinese government refers to as Xinjiang province.
Face++ caused a fresh uproar when it reportedly developed a facial-recognition system that could spot individuals of Uyghur ethnicity, a capability that was supposed to be incorporated into a phone app that would help Chinese police monitor Uyghurs with a horrifying level of detail.

However, according to emails on the first son’s hard drive, the “extremely valuable” diamond was brought up as a sticking point in his divorce with now-ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who claimed Hunter was in possession of it.
In a 2017 email, Buhle’s lawyer demands Hunter “provide proof that the diamond has been placed in a safety deposit box – accessible only by both parties together – by noon tomorrow or we will have no choice but to ask the court, on an emergency basis, to enjoin his further dissipation of assets, including the diamond.”
The “Laptop From Hell” also contains a photo of an appraisal of the diamond.
The “gift” from the vanished Chinese energy tycoon is reportedly part of the ongoing probe into the first son, according to CNN .

Congress Wants Answers on How China’s Slave Labor Goods Are Getting Into US Admin ignores law that bans products made by Uyghur slave labor

Congressional investigators recently found that grocery stores around the country, including in Washington, D.C., and its surrounding suburbs, are selling red jujube dates, an Asian fruit that is produced and packaged using Uyghur slave labor in China's contested Xinjiang province. A coalition of 27 Republican lawmakers is demanding answers from the Treasury Department and Customs and Border Protection about how these goods are making their way to American shelves and enriching Communist companies that rely on slave labor, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon .
Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which was passed in June, the importation of Chinese Communist Party goods that are produced with Uyghur slave labor is illegal. But this has not stopped a sanctioned Chinese company known as XPCC from selling its jujube dates to a middleman, Qingdao Daochuan Food Company Limited, which offloads the products to a Brooklyn-based distributor, according to the lawmakers. The sanctions-busting scheme, congressional sources say, is reminiscent of tactics used by the Iranian regime to skirt similar human rights sanctions. The appearance of these products in the United States is fueling accusations that the Biden administration is failing to uphold the law.
"Selling products made by Uyghur slave labor is both illegal under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and morally abhorrent," Rep. Mike Gallagher (R., Wis.), one of the letter's signers, told the Free Beacon . "Customs and Border Patrol has been directed by Congress to ensure no goods made in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region are permitted to enter American markets, and the presence of these red dates in American grocery stores is a clear failure by the Biden administration to enforce this law."
XPCC, the company producing the dates, is a Chinese state-owned economic and paramilitary organization operating in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, or XUAR. The company was first hit with sanctions in 2020 for human rights violations, and all U.S. persons and entities are barred from conducting transactions with it.
But jujube dates produced by XPCC were recently found in several locations, including a supermarket in the D.C. suburbs, according to photographic evidence taken by a congressional staffer and presented in the letter. The packaging "unambiguously indicates that XPCC is the producer," the lawmakers write, adding that some of the products are even "labeled with XPCC branding—a logo of XPCC soldiers saluting a red communist banner printed on the bags themselves."
Third-party sellers on Amazon also are selling versions of these dates.
The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act "mandates that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detain all products" emanating from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region "on presumption that the goods were produced with forced labor," the lawmakers write. Still, exports from the region "hit a two-year high," raising questions about the Biden administration's enforcement efforts.
"The fact that the red jujube dates sourced from XUAR are widely available in the U.S., even through online retailers such as Amazon and often explicitly having XPCC symbols, raises important questions about how serious [Customs and Border Protection] is enforcing U.S. laws against China's forced labor practices," the letter states.
The lawmakers are demanding the Treasury Department and Border Patrol disclose how many shipments of red jujube dates have been allowed into the United States since sanctions went into effect and explain why XPCC is not facing any civil penalties. They also want to know if Qingdao Daochuan Food Company Limited, the alleged middleman in the transactions, could be found "complicit in serious human rights abuse."
"U.S. supermarkets are carrying XPCC-labeled products with Communist imagery," Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), who helped spearhead the letter along with Gallagher and Rep. Mike Waltz (R., Fla.), told the Free Beacon . "The Biden administration isn't taking the issue of Uyghur forced labor seriously and is failing to enforce bipartisan laws prohibiting business with entities using Uyghur forced labor."

The report did not use the word "genocide."
The report, which was released by the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, found that China has undertaken "arbitrary and discriminatory detention" of Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities and that "allegations of sexual and gender-based violence, including of rape," were credible.
Both the United States and an independent tribunal in the United Kingdom have declared China's actions to be genocide.
U.N. investigators had the report on High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet's desk nearly a year ago, the Times reported, but Bachelet, a former socialist president of Chile, delayed releasing it. Bachelet, whose term ended minutes after her office released the report, visited China in May, where she praised Communist Party officials and failed to mention the Uyghur genocide.
Bachelet said at a recent news conference that "she had given priority to reaching agreement with Beijing."
International Service for Human Rights program director Sarah M. Brooks told the Times that the report is "the bare minimum" Bachelet and her office could have done. Diplomats in Beijing told the paper that the late release prevents Western governments and human rights groups from building "a robust response in the Human Rights Council, which starts its last session of the year in 12 days."
The Trump administration pulled the United States out of the U.N. Human Rights Council, which has embraced anti-Semitism and covered up for human rights abusers such as China and Russia. The United States rejoined the council under the Biden administration.

"The White House and some in Congress are making statements against China that are so over the top and so hypercritical, they are based not on the fact, or if they are based on fact, sheer demagoguery, and that's what McCarthy did in the 1950s."
Since his retirement in 2017, Baucus has been a reliable critic of the Trump administration's increasingly confrontational China policy—chiefly the decision to wage a trade war with Beijing. He once warned that the White House's decision to impose additional tariffs was a "slap on the face" to China. But Baucus's recent comments in the pandemic era have been more sympathetic to China—and critical of the United States—than ever before.
His post-retirement public statements praising China have coincided with his burgeoning overseas investments. In 2017, he founded the Baucus Group, a consulting firm that advises both American and Chinese businesses, according to his U.S. Chamber of Commerce biography . He also sits on the board of directors for Ingram Micro, a U.S. subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned conglomerate, as well as the board of advisers for Alibaba Group, one of China's largest tech companies.
Walter Lohman, director of the Asian Studies Center at the Heritage Foundation, said that it was "inappropriate" for a former ambassador to speak ill about his own government on a foreign propaganda outlet.
"It's like going to China and … talking about your own government that way in meetings. I think that would be pretty inappropriate," Lohman said. "So it would be inappropriate speaking on state media."
Baucus's public statements have received considerable attention from Beijing's propaganda outlets. When the former ambassador compared President Donald Trump's criticism of China to rhetoric used by Adolf Hitler and Joe McCarthy during a May 6 interview with CNN, Chinese propaganda outlets quickly amplified Baucus's comments about how Trump was "a little bit like Hitler in the '30s" and that Americans were worried about "getting their heads chopped off" if they voice their disagreement with the U.S. government's China policy. Xinhua News Agency, a state-owned outlet, extensively cited Baucus's attacks in a May 8 article, using it as evidence that the Trump administration is attempting to "deflect criticisms about their blunders by blaming China." The article was syndicated in party-controlled mouthpieces such as Global Times and People's Daily , according to the Investigative Research Center.
Baucus then appeared on CGTN on May 12 to double down on his Hitler and McCarthy comparison, blaming the Trump administration for flaming "sheer demagoguery."
"[The current U.S. rhetoric] is somewhat reminiscent, nowhere close to that yet, somewhat reminiscent of the McCarthy era and somewhat reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s," he told CGTN.
The former ambassador also gave an exclusive interview to Global Times on May 14, where he said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's claim that the virus may have originated in a Wuhan laboratory "makes no sense" and accused both Democrats and Republicans of being tough on China to score political points in an election year.
Baucus again appeared on CGTN on May 15, where he claimed that America is "sliding toward a form of McCarthyism" because the Trump administration is pressuring policymakers to be tough on China. The former ambassador did another CGTN media hit on May 16, this time appearing alongside his wife Melodee Hanes, who blamed the presidential election for making dialogue "difficult."
"There are a lot of pretty smart people in the United States who are not speaking up. People in office, moderates, especially moderates on the Republican side," Baucus said on May 15. "They are afraid to speak up, they are intimidated, intimidated by President Trump. And it's kind of sliding toward a form of McCarthyism—how it is politically incorrect to speak the truth, speak the truth to power."
When the Washington Free Beacon called the phone number listed for Baucus's home address, no one answered. A lawyer representing Baucus Group, the ambassador's consulting firm, also did not respond to a request for comment.
While Baucus rarely enjoyed this much attention from Chinese state media outlets after his retirement, this is not the first time he has spoken to Chinese media outlets in recent years. Baucus also gave an exclusive interview to People's Daily in March 2018, criticizing U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods as the "wrong policy" and "too confrontational." He has also spoken at events backed by the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation, a registered foreign agent of the Chinese government according to a 2018 congressional report.
Lohman, the Heritage Foundation expert, said that while Baucus has the right to appear on any domestic and foreign outlets, he should not have addressed a propaganda outlet with the same degree of candidness that he did with CNN.
"I think he must have gotten wrapped up in the media performances because when you shift from CNN to Global Times or CGTN, you've gone to an entirely new level," he said. "And there I think you just have to express yourself differently. It's not an appropriate place to air political differences."

You hear American citizens grumble over these high prices, but again, do you hear Senator Mitch McConnell or Minority Leader McCarthy pounding tables in Washington over the high prices their constituents are paying? Biden's popularity for doing the bidding of his party is worrisome for Democrats. Forty-one percent of Americans approve of what he is doing, while 57% disapprove of his leadership. Worse, 23% of Americans believe that the country is on the right track, while 71% of those polled say America is on the wrong track. We are five months from the congressional elections, and it currently appears that the Democrats will lose control of both the House and the Senate.
Biden's embrace of open borders and green energy policies is very unpopular with the general public. Still, it's very popular with the far left of his party, who are currently calling the shots. I fear that Biden is too old and feeble to make course corrections as Clinton once did. With Harris as vice president, we are stuck with Moonlight Joe until January 2025. Writing this gives me no pleasure, but "we the people" are not his first concern. He has other employers overseas who pay him much more.

The family of former Vice President Joe Biden has earned millions of dollars since the start of his political career, often from dealings with heavy political overtones. The book, titled Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite. , lays out how Hunter Biden and his business partners, in addition to his numerous Rosemont-branded entities and ventures, was deeply involved with an entity called the Burnham Financial Group.

Sixty-two percent of registered voters believe President Joe Biden likely consulted and perhaps profited from Biden family business deals, a Tuesday Rasmussen poll found.
Only one-third of respondents said they do not believe Joe Biden was likely consulted about his family’s business dealings with CCP-linked companies.
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters August 31-September 1, 2022 with a three point margin of error.
April polling revealed 58 percent of voters believed Joe Biden played a role in his family’s business. Sixty percent said Hunter Biden has sold “influence and access” to the president.
The polling comes after overwhelming evidence suggests that Joe Biden has been involved in his family’s business deals since 2012, when he was vice president. Joe Biden and his staff have claimed seven times Joe Biden has had no part in the family scheme, but 17 instances show otherwise.
“I’ve never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings. Here’s what I know — I know Trump deserves to be investigated,” Joe Biden claimed in 2020.
“It’s a smear campaign,” he said another time in October of 2020. “My son has no made money from China,” he reiterated a few days afterward.
But texts from Hunter’s laptop indicate Joe Biden received 50 percent of Hunter’s “salary” for a 30-year period. The reported texts do not reveal when the 30 years began or ended and whether Joe Biden is still a part of the payment scheme as president.
“I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years,” Hunter texted his daughter. “It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike Pop [Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary.”
According to former Utah U.S. attorney Brett Tolman, the Biden family’s payment mechanism of collecting 50 percent of family salaries for 30 years could be legal “predicates” for racketeering charges.
Trump-appointed United States prosecutor David Weiss is deliberating whether Hunter and associates “violated money laundering, campaign finance, tax and foreign lobbying laws, as well as whether Hunter Biden broke federal firearm and other regulations,” CNN reported . A grand jury has been convened in the probe, whereby a witness who testified before the jury was reportedly asked to identify the “big guy.”
The “big guy” refers to Joe Biden potentially receiving a 10 percent cut of a deal with a now defunct CCP-linked company, according to former business associate of Hunter, Tony Bobulinski, who personally met with Joe and Hunter Biden in 2017 for an hour to discuss “the Bidens’ family business plans with the Chinese.”
Bobulinski later came forward as a whistleblower and reportedly handed over intelligence about Biden family business dealings to former FBI “point man” Timothy Thibault, the New York Post reported . Yet Thibault, who left the bureau in August, reportedly never followed up on Bobulinski’s information. Bobulinski has also never reportedly testified before the Delaware grand jury probing Hunter.

Ye, who has ties to Chinese intelligence, disappeared in 2018 after being taken into custody by the Chinese government.
Hunter told The New Yorker in 2019 that he got the diamond from the chairman of CEFC, following a dinner in Miami, but insisted he gave it away because he “just felt like it was weird.” The younger Biden also insisted the diamond was not a bribe.

However, according to emails on the first son’s hard drive, the “extremely valuable” diamond was brought up as a sticking point in his divorce with now-ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who claimed Hunter was in possession of it.
In a 2017 email, Buhle’s lawyer demands Hunter “provide proof that the diamond has been placed in a safety deposit box – accessible only by both parties together – by noon tomorrow or we will have no choice but to ask the court, on an emergency basis, to enjoin his further dissipation of assets, including the diamond.”
The “Laptop From Hell” also contains a photo of an appraisal of the diamond.
The “gift” from the vanished Chinese energy tycoon is reportedly part of the ongoing probe into the first son, according to CNN .

Hunter Biden developed a close working relationship with CEFC China Energy Co. Chairman and majority owner Ye Jianming beginning at the end of 2015. Ye had a number of ties to Chinese military intelligence and his company provided energy to China’s People’s Liberation Army, according to reporting by Breitbart News Senior contributor Peter Schweizer, in his bestselling book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends .
Through Ye, Hunter established a relationship with his associate Patrick Ho, who Hunter Biden called “the fucking spy chief of China” in a phone call.
In his business relationship with CEFC, via Ye and Ho, the Biden scion raked in about $5 million in energy deals, despite having no experience in the East Asian energy industry.
Ho was eventually arrested in New York City on bribery charges by the FBI in November 2017, and when that happened, his first phone call from jail was to James Biden, seeking Hunter. Ye was disappeared by Chinese authorities in 2018.
