Adjusted for inflation, Americans earned less in August – even though they worked more hours – the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Wednesday.

Due to a seasonally-adjusted 0.6% jump in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) compared to July, real average weekly earnings decreased 0.1% over the month, despite a 0.3% increase in the average number of hours worked.

August’s 0.2% improvement in average weekly earnings from July fell short of the month’s 0.6% increase in prices, resulting in the dip in real average weekly earnings.

For production and nonsupervisory employees, the loss in real wages was even more severe. Here, real average weekly earnings decreased 0.3% over the month, as a 0.3% increase in the average workweek failed to offset a 0.6% drop in real average hourly earnings.

In August, a seasonally-adjusted 10.6% increase in the cost of gasoline was the largest contributor to the 0.6% spike in the price index for all-items, accounting for over half of the rise from July. A 0.3% rise in the cost of shelter – the 40th straight monthly increase - also contributed to the increase in prices.

Ortiz: Hispanics Running Away from Democrats, Bidenomics Making Things Even Worse

Hispanic voters go to the polls for early voting at the Miami-Dade Government Center in Miami on Oct. 21, 2004.Gaston De Cardenas / Getty Images

Alfredo Ortiz of Job Creators Network writes for foxnews.com. “The biggest story of Hispanic Heritage Month, which began last Friday, is that Hispanics are coming home to the Republican Party:

Earlier this month, the New York Times published a bombshell article headlined “Consistent Signs of Erosion in Black and Hispanic Support for Biden.” The piece chronicles the ongoing political migration among minorities, especially Hispanics, from Democrats to Republicans. It highlights twelve “high-quality” 2024 election polls that show Biden holds a mere 50% to 40% lead among Hispanic voters. That’s down significantly from the 65% of Hispanics who voted for him in 2020.

This polling destroys the media narrative that Republicans are a racist party. It debunks Democrats’ Great Replacement theory, which posits that America’s increasing number of minorities and immigrants will inevitably generate an enduring Democrat majority.

. . .

Consider how Bidenomics disproportionately hurts Hispanics. Who is more impacted by the 17% inflation since Biden took office: Hispanic food service workers or white yuppies? Who feels greater pain from $5 a gallon gas: Hispanic transportation workers or the work-from-home laptop class? And who is impacted more by Democrats’ opposition to school choice: the Hispanic family who has to live wherever they can find an affordable apartment or the suburbanites who can choose their zip code based on its schools? No wonder Hispanics are migrating to the Republican Party.

For George Soros it was about control to gain influence, access, and special treatment.  After the election Biden formed a transition team that staffed itself with people connected to Soros.

But his money also played a part.  Soros spent over $70 million on activities that backed Biden's candidacy.  Soros bought frequent access to Obama.  That access returned under Biden.  Biden's Kampf

Who are all these thousands of unvetted Venezuelan migrants marching into Eagle Pass?

A few weeks ago, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre assured a press questioner that Joe Biden "had done more than anyone to secure the border."

Today, the situation looks like this:

(The wry Spanish comment, by noted Venezuelan film director Jonathan Jakubowicz, says: "At the rate we are going, there will soon be more Venezuelans in the U.S. than in Venezuela.")

They are all single young men, marching in single file, the way people do who are certain they will not be cheated, so no need to rush, and one of them says, in response to apparently a Border Patrol-shouted question, "We are fleeing a dictatorship."

He'd get arguments from Venezuela apologists Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar about that, but no arguments from them about their "right" to claim asylum here.

The situation is getting bad, with 9,000 or 10,000 people, mostly Venezuelans, crossing into Eagle Pass. It's so bad normal border traffic has been halted, leaving the people who properly use the border for trade and work without a means of getting to work and getting paid. Supply chains, in other words, are disrupted, based on the Biden administration's priority to "process" the incoming migrants instead.

Which is outrageous.

After all, what do we know about these migrants? The "dictatorship" claim is obviously rehearsed, an argument for letting this parade of at least a thousand young military-aged men into the U.S. as asylum applicants.

They are unvetted and unknown.

Perhaps they are all Amish refugees fleeing government persecution, but more likely, they are denizens of the vast Caracas slums, known as "ranchos," which are pits of violence, crime and disorder..

I've been to the ranchos, and they are vast, I nearly wanted to faint when I first laid eyes on them in late 2005, crime pits, criminal-gang dominated hellholes so dangerous even the Lonely Planet travel guide to Venezuela warns its hardy backpacker clientele never to enter them. They are dangerous because everyone is involved in some kind of crime, it's not a matter of a few criminals and a vast innocent citizenry, there's zero social capital in those dog-eat-dog places, and it's a savage existence.

Might they be from these places and this class of people? Based on their entitlement mentality and the many incidents of violence seen among them one can draw one's own conclusions.

How many of these young men were emptied from Venezuela's prisons for migration purposes, which is what Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro reportedly has done? Venezuela is famous for its quantity of criminals.

Worse still, how many of these unvetted young men being let into the states were shock troops for Hugo Chavez's socialist revolution, the one that made Venezuela the hellhole it is?

How many of these unvetted young men in this procession put on the red tshirt for Hugo and cheered at all his many rallies? There were a lot of people in those crowds. Were these migrants among them?

How many of these Venezuelan migrants "served" in Chavista motorcycle gangs, terrorizing residents to vote for Hugo or else and engaging in random shootings, old-lady-beatups, and random crime on the side, all fully protected by the state? How many of them sprayed FARC graffiti on storefronts in Caracas, on little bakery and bicyle shops, rendering ordinary shopping streets into nasty, menacing slums? How many engaged in flash-mob lootings of shops -- bakeries, groceries, gift shops, butchers -- which were fully encouraged by Hugo as early as the early 2000s as a means of "taking back" from the capitalists, since everyone was supposedly hungry? (Hugo used the same talking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did when she justified flash mobs, but much earlier). How many of these migrants joined motorcycle gangs to shoot up newspaper and television stations that dissented from the official Chavista party line, as I saw in the bullet-pocked offices of Globovision in Caracas in late 2005? How many of them engaged in ATM thievery and identity theft all the other things that go on in Caracas without consequences?

Maybe none of them did, maybe they are all monks, but given the numbers seen, the odds are that a lot of them did.

That's why migration requires vetting and none of these young men in this army-like invasion marching single file into the U.S. as "asylum applicants" have been vetted in the slightest.

Lonely Planet warned indeed about not going to the Caracas slums, but odds are, these are the Caracas slums -- coming to us, bringing Chavista values and all the socialism that flows from it.

Hugo Chavez always dreamed of conquering America and occasionally said he would even camp out at the U.S. border with illegals to achieve it. Chavez's closest Colombian ally, Gustavo Petro, a former M-19 guerrilla who is currently president of Colombia, summed up the migrant surge as an conquering invasion against white privilege at the United Nations this week, as if it was part of a plan.

These migrants have been steeped in hate-America sentiment from the day they were born, so it wouldn't be surprising to learn that America is a conquest to them as they march on in.

Not one of these young men should be allowed in even to claim asylum without the most thorough of vetting. Americans have a right to that much.

Exclusive: ‘DHS Out to Lunch,’ Plans Massive Migrant Releases at Texas Border, Says CBP Source

EAGLE PASS, Texas — According to a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has no cohesive enforcement strategy to address the border incursion of more than 2,500 migrants into one Texas border town on Wednesday. The source, not authorized to speak to the media, told Breitbart Texas every Border Patrol station in the region is beyond capacity. The only instructions received from DHS is to quickly process and release the mostly Venezuelan migrants who made landfall in Eagle Pass to a non-government shelter.

Breitbart Texas posted in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, on Wednesday morning and watched as the more than 2,500 migrants moved through the city streets headed to the Rio Grande to begin the border crossing. Piedras Negras is the city directly across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas, a city of 30,000 residents. Some migrants carried children on their shoulders and the few belongings they possessed while they moved to surrender to federal and state authorities waiting in Eagle Pass. Many were single adult migrants.

The source told Breitbart Texas the recent increase in migrant incursions in Eagle Pass, some 7,000 over the previous 72 hours, has filled a local soft-sided Border Patrol processing facility to more than three times its capacity. The lack of detention space at this facility has forced the movement of the migrants to all other Border Patrol stations in the immediate vicinity, resulting in overcrowding at those locations as well.

At most locations, according to the source, many migrants are detained in outdoor “sally-port” settings used to load and unload migrants from the facility. The source says no plans or instructions from Customs and Border Protection or DHS, their parent agency, were received.

“We got crickets from them while this was going on. We have become well practiced at moving bodies around quickly and moved everyone into place to avoid heat-related health issues,” the source said. “The only instructions we have received thus far is to quickly process and release as many of the migrants as we can to accommodate more expected large crossings.”

On Thursday, a new, larger non-government shelter is slated to open in Eagle Pass, accommodating more migrants released by the Border Patrol to pursue asylum claims within the United States. The new Mission Border Hope shelter, operated by the United Methodist Church, will begin receiving the migrants at their new location and coordinating travel to other parts of the country.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, the shelter recently began forcing some migrants out of the facility if they have no funds to complete travel arrangements away from the border region. Those migrants have increasingly appeared on city streets asking residents for help to leave the border city. Some have resorted to walking away from the border city to San Antonio — a journey of more than 150 miles.

The source says word of the releases into the United States is causing the increased border surges.

“This all started here when we began releasing single adults. Once word got out, it just got worse from there,” the source lamented. When it concerns the latest surge of 2,500 migrants on Wednesday, the source says if the mostly Venezuelan migrants have no serious criminal records in the United States, they will be released, and people will be seeing them on the streets soon, not only at the border but in cities across the country.

On Wednesday, shortly after the incursion began, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued a statement announcing the extension and redesignation of Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months.

The designation will provide temporary protection from removal and work authorization for Venezuelans who have been present in the United States before July 31, 2023. According to CBP enforcement statistics, that will protect from removal the more than 124,000 Venezuelan migrants who have entered between October and July 31, 2023. In all, the agency expects that the new order will afford protection from removal and work authorization for up to 472,000 nationals of Venezuela in addition to the 242,700 Venezuelan migrants already receiving Temporary Protected Status.

The source told Breitbart Texas the approval of protection from removal and work authorizations for the Venezuelans will only serve as a magnet for more to begin the journey to the United States.

“Mayorkas is shooting us in the foot, news travels fast, and if they are willing to give status that may last for years, it’s amnesty, plain and simple, regardless of what we call it,” the source stated.

WATCH: 'Sanctuary' Dems Decide They Don’t Love Migrants So Much After All

Cities that urged immigrants to 'join us' during Trump presidency have become 'literally full' on Biden's watch

September 20, 2023

When Donald Trump was president, Democratic-run cities and states were more than happy to declare themselves "sanctuaries" for illegal immigrants and refugees. Then Joe Biden took office and "solved" the border crisis.

Except he didn't. Obviously.

As border states became overwhelmed by an influx of immigrants, Republican mayors and governors began sending these sanctuary-seeking migrants to the Democratic cities that had promised to provide it.

Suddenly, the same Democrats who once boasted of being so welcoming to immigrants have changed their tune. New York City mayor Eric Adams recently ranted that sending migrants to Manhattan was "unfair" and predicted it would "destroy New York City." Gov. Kathy Hochul (D., N.Y.) said her state has "reached a breaking point."

The Democratic mayors of Chicago and Washington, D.C.—both proud sanctuary cities—have declared states of emergency and asked the federal government for help dealing with an immigration crisis that until recently had been confined to border states hundreds of miles away.

Mayor Michael Hancock said in 2019 that Denver "would be a welcoming city for folks who are seeking asylum." These days he's complaining that the city is "stretched" for resources and needs support from the Biden administration, which has been reluctant to provide it because that would involve acknowledging the problem.
