Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told Norah O’Donnell of CBS News’ 60 Minutes on Sunday evening that the goal of the Biden administration was not to “contain” China, but to protect a “rules-based order” in international relations.

The relevant section of the interview was as follows (emphasis added):

Blinken: It is the one country in the world that has the military economic diplomatic capacity to undermine or challenge the rules based order that we, we care so much about and are determined to defend. But I want to be very clear about something, and this is important. Our purpose is not to contain China, to hold it back, to keep it down. It is to uphold this rules-based order that China is posing a challenge to. Anyone who poses a challenge to that order, we’re going to stand up and defend it.

O’Donnell: I know you say the goal is not to contain China, but have you ever seen China be so assertive or aggressive militarily?

Blinken: No, we haven’t. I think what we’ve witnessed over the last several years is China acting more repressively at home and more aggressively abroad. That is a fact.

O’Donnell: What’s China’s goal?

Blinken: I think that over time, China believes that it can be and should be and will be the dominant country in the world.

Notably, Blinken did not rule out the possibility that China would overtake the United States as the world’s dominant power. Instead, the Biden administration appears willing to accept global Chinese dominance, provided the “rules” are maintained.

Blinken’s approach implies that unlike its predecessor, the Biden administration appears to see America’s role as shaping China into a more responsible superpower, once it overtakes the U.S., rather than challenging China’s rise or restraining its ambitions.

In March, China rebuked Blinken to his face at the first meeting between the U.S. and China since President Joe Biden took office. When Blinken brought up Chinese human rights abuses, China cited Black Lives Matter on America’s supposed flaws.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin, who drew attention to the interview on his program Monday, said that the video was a provocation, highlighting U.S. weakness.

“This interview, I believe, will be what sparks an attack on Taiwan,” he warned.

Biden’s Stimulus Springs Leaks as March Trade Deficit Explodes to Highest Level Ever

The direct stimulus payments that hit bank accounts across the U.S. in March increased incomes by a record amount—but much of it found its way into foreign coffers, pushing the trade deficit up to the highest level on record.

The U.S. international trade deficit rose to a record $74.4 billion in March with more imports on the books than exports, the Commerce Department said in a report Tuesday.
Exports of goods and services through international trade for the month rose 6.6 percent to $200 billion compared to imports of goods and services (up 6.3 percent to $274.5 billion), the report said.

The reasons so much of the stimulus leaked out of the U.S. economy are straightforward. U.S. production was expanding but still restrained by pandemic restrictions in March and low tariff barriers mean that increases in consumer spending typically translate into higher imports. It’s likely that other countries where domestic demand is depressed by the pandemic are off-loading goods and services to the U.S.

PNC Senior Economist Bill Adams says demand for foreign-made goods was aided by $1,400 stimulus payments given out last month for pandemic relief.

“Stimulus has kept American consumers spending through the pandemic, but restrictions on high-contact industries have diverted consumer spending from domestically-produced services to goods, much of which are imported,” Adams wrote in Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly. “As the pandemic comes under control in the United States, American consumers will spend less on imported goods, shrinking imports; and foreigners will buy more U.S. exports as their economies recover further.”

The record deficit — the difference between what the United States buys from overseas and what it sells to other nations — represents a 58 percent increase from the same period a year ago and marks the highest deficit since the data series began in January 1992.

In March, imports increased most ($4.5 billion) in consumer goods, including textile apparel, furniture, household goods, toys, games, sporting goods and cellphones.

The March deficit was up about $4 billion from February and occurred amid widening gaps with China ($36.9 billion) and Mexico ($8.4 billion). The deficit with the European Union decreased more than $2 billion.

The United States recorded a $681 billion deficit for all of 2020, the largest yearly gap since 2008, largely because the near-economic collapse around the world due to the pandemic and restrictions severely depressed demand for U.S. goods and services.

Report: Hunter Biden to Guest Teach Tulane University Class on ‘Fake News’ this Fall

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, who has no media or professional teaching background beyond publicly touting his ability to cook crack with ease and his experience with the drug, will help guide a “media polarization” class at Tulane University this fall, the Daily Mail revealed Monday.

Hunter will serve as a guest professor despite having no media background other than being the subject of numerous news reports about his lucrative business dealings overseas and drug-addled lifestyle.

Amid the presidential election last year, Big Tech companies such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and Democrat-allied mainstream media outlets also attempted to cover up an explosive story from the New York Post about the contents of a laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Tulane University, attended by Andrew Breitbart, confirmed that Hunter would be one of several guest speakers helping to teach the course titled “Media Polarization and Public Policy Impact.”

“America’s rapidly advancing partisan divide is fueled substantially by the growing political polarization increasingly evident in our news media,” a syllabus obtained by the news outlet noted in describing the class.

“This course will explore the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the news business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C.,” it continued.

Hunter, a 51-year-old Yale-educated lawyer, has no background working in the media industry or dealing with reporters and policymaking like the other guest speakers associated with the course.

The course targets explicitly “those interested in media relations and policy,” the Daily Mail reported, citing the syllabus.

“Donald Trump coined the term ‘fake news’ during his 2016 campaign for president where he insisted liberal-leaning media outlets were paining him in a false light and reporting fake stories on him – specifically regarding Russian collusion,” the news report acknowledged.

Not having experience has never prevented Hunter, who critics accuse of leveraging his father’s political influence to obtain jobs, from applying or getting lucrative gigs.

Despite no background in the industry, Hunter worked for the corruption-linked Ukrainian gas conglomerate Burisma for at least $50,000 monthly between 2014 and 2019.

Serving as vice president when Hunter got the job, his father was in charge of U.S. policy towards the Eastern European country.

Even Obama administration officials warned that Hunter’s position at Burisma, which paid him tens of thousands monthly, created a “conflict of interest” for his father. Still, then-Vice President Biden’s office dismissed the concerns.

Hunter also made a failed attempt to get a law professor gig at the University of California Los Angeles, touting his family name and political connections, emails reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation revealed.

In 2019, Hunter reportedly offered to teach a class on drug policy and identified a list of possible guest speakers with close ties to his father.

“It’s not rocket science,” Hunter jokingly told the host of the New Abnormal podcast Molly Jong-Fast about cooking crack, eliciting laughs in the studio despite the emcee vowing not to glorify illegal drugs.

“It didn’t take, you know, a physics degree to be able to figure out how to do it, and once you do it, it’s unfortunately pretty simple,” he added.

His remarks came in response to the host, who admitted using drugs in her youth, asking Hunter to comment on his crack cooking skills, which she said “impressed” her.

Hunter shared his experience with crack cocaine in his memoir, Beautiful Things, the subject of his interview with the New Abnormal podcast.

“Cooking crack took practice, but it wasn’t rocket science,” Hunter wrote in his book.

Ex-politicians signing up to 'teach a class' (actually deliver a few guest lectures while some adjunct does the actual work) is nothing new. Even if it's easily mockable. But Hunter Biden isn't an ex-politician or even a politician. He's a politician's kid. That's also not wholly unprecedented. Ask Chelsea Clinton, but at least she put in enough time to build some sort of resume.

Hunter Biden has gone from drug fiend to the classroom in a ridiculously short amount of time while still under FBI investigation.

Hunter Biden is helping teach a class on fake news at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana this fall.

The course titled 'Media Polarization and Public Policy Impacts' will include several guest speakers throughout its 10 weeks, including the president's son.

The course description, according to a copy of the syllabus obtained by DailyMail.com, says: 'America's rapidly advancing partisan divide is fueled substantially by the growing political polarization increasingly evident in our news media.'

'This course will explore the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the news business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C,' it continues.

Call this a contribution to Hunter's redemption tour. A completely unjustified and unqualified one. But Hunter is the son of the guy in the White House. And Tulane would be happy to wet its beak. As Tulane notes, it's got 4 alumni in the new administration, including Rick Levine. And it scored a $1.6 million cancer grant. I'm not saying it's quid pro quo. But it's not just the Chinese who get to politicians through their kids.

Hunter spends some time at Tulane. Gets treated like a VIP. And good stuff happens. At the very least Tulane is much more on Biden's radar.

That's public policy.

Biden from the Beginning

Right from the start, the Delaware Democrat was all about power and money.

White House resident Joe Biden was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972, at the age of 29. Two years later, in 1974, the Delaware Democrat was the subject of a 4,000-plus-word Washingtonian profile, but not for anything he had accomplished in office.

“I have no illusions about why I am such a hot commodity,” Biden told Kitty Kelley.  “I am the youngest man in the Senate and I am also the victim of a tragic fate which makes me very newsworthy.” Biden’s wife Neilia and the couple’s infant daughter were killed in a car accident shortly after Biden’s election in 1972. Biden wanted to resign, but Senate majority leader Mike Mansfield promised him prestigious committee assignments. The grieving newcomer had higher goals in mind.

“I know I can be a good Senator, and I know I can be a good President,” Biden told Kelley. “I know I could have easily made the White House with Neilia. And my family still expects me to be there one of these days. With them behind me anything can happen.” As Biden’s sister Valerie explained, “Joey is going to be president someday. He was made to be in the White House. Just you wait and see.”

Biden proclaimed “there is no other walk of life which can do more good for mankind than politics,” but money was also part of it. “I am worth a lot more than my salary of $42,500 a year in this body,” Biden explained in the Senate. “It seems to me that we should flat out tell the American people we are worth our salt.” That brought a response from William Loeb, editor of the “right wing”  Manchester Union Leader.

“Can you imagine the conceit and stupidity of a young man of 30 who would say that? The voters of Delaware who elected this stupid, conceited jackass to the Senate should kick him in the rear to knock some sense into him, and then kick themselves for voting for such an idiot.”

As Kelley noted, Biden framed Loeb’s editorial and hung it in his office. “When you get a blast like that you really know you’re worth something.” Kelley had reason for doubt.

In the course of the interview, Biden leaned over his desk, shook his finger and said,  “And whether you like it or not, young lady, us cruddy politicians can take away that First Amendment of yours if we want to.”  Kelley took the threat as confirmation that Joe Biden “defines politics as power.”

In 2010, Mark Bowen cited Kelley’s “notoriously revealing” profile in his 9,000-plus word Atlantic piece on the Delaware Democrat. As Bowden recalled, when Biden ran for president in 1988 he was “discovered passing off as his own passages from a speech by a British Labour politician.” In 2008, Biden finished the Iowa caucuses with less than one percent of the vote, and Bowden wondered if the Delaware Democrat might be seeking something else.

“I would not be anybody’s secretary of state in any circumstance I could think of,” Biden said at the time, “and I absolutely can say with certainty I would not be anybody’s vice president. Period. End of story. Guaranteed. Will not do it.” Biden did do it, and Bowden recalled his statement to Kelley that he would be a good president. Bowden wasn’t sure.

“Though plenty smart, Biden is not an intellectual,” Bowden explained. Biden was an “indifferent student” in college and law school, and “he makes few references to books and learned influences in his speeches and autobiography.” Bowden named no books that someone aspiring to be president of the United States might want to read, perhaps landmark works by Solzhenitsyn, Orwell, F.A. Hayek and many others. As Mark Twain said, the man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.

In a 1987 campaign speech, Joe Biden “borrowed liberally, and without attribution, from the British Labour politician Neil Kinnock.” At the time Kinnock and his party were heavily embedded with the Soviets, so Kinnock was perhaps the worst choice Biden could have made. On the other hand, Biden credits his humiliating plagiarism with “saving his life.” If he had stayed in the campaign, “he likely would have ignored the warning signs that sent him to the doctor.” What, exactly, the doctor needed to treat is not explained, but it is possible to guess.

Mark Bowden is the author of Black Hawk Down, Huế 1968, and The Finish: The Killing of Osama Bin Laden. With Joe Biden the serious writer took a softer approach.

“Joe Biden doesn’t just meet you, he engulfs you. There’s the direct contact with his blue eyes, the firm handshake while his other hand grasps your arm, the flash of those famously perfect white teeth, and an immediate frontal assault on your personal space. He shoulders right through the aura of fame and high office. Forget the Secret Service, the ever-present battery of aides and advisers, the photographers clicking away: the vice president of the United States moves in like an old pal with something urgent to tell you—just you. If he’s in a chair, he’ll scoot it closer; when the furniture’s not portable, he’ll lean forward, planting his elbows on his knees, gesturing with both hands while he speaks, occasionally reaching over to touch your arm or leg for emphasis.”

Joe Biden is also a “virtuoso talker. That fluency is not a gift but an accomplishment.” Biden’s “occasional well-publicized gaffes have served to humanize a leadership team that all too often seems aloof, cerebral, and elitist.” Readers might think Biden’s gaffes are a positive accomplishment, and his politics largely a matter of style.

Contrast this highly promotional account with Kitty Kelley, known for unauthorized biographies of Nancy Reagan, Frank Sinatra and the Bush Family. Biden’s threats to take away First Amendment rights convinced Kelley that the Delaware Democrat “defines politics as power.”

Jump ahead to 2021 and the First Amendment is under attack as Joe Biden seems determined to take away the Second Amendment rights of every American. In the White House, Victor Davis Hanson notes, Biden is “as he always was,” as incompetent as Jimmy Carter, as corrupt as Bill Clinton and “a greater racial divider than Barack Obama.”

This is what happens when a cruddy politician taps the “most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.”

No one cares about former president Barack Obama anymore, least of all the Democratic Party's most fashionable influencers. It's almost as if his presidency never happened.

Last week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) said President Joe Biden's first 100 days in office "have been impressive" and "exceeded" the expectations of trendy young progressives such as herself. Historians, journalists, and other liberals have anointed Biden the next FDR or LBJ—a once-in-a-generation "transformative" leader.

Not that long ago, it was Obama who was considered a hot young progressive and was hailed as the next coming of the 20th century's most transformative leaders. The similarly fawning coverage of Biden, the former running mate whose presidential ambitions he repeatedly sought to discourage, must be utterly humiliating for Obama and his excessively large ego.

Biden, meanwhile, just "loves the growing narrative that he's bolder and bigger-thinking than President Obama," according to the short-form gossip blog Axios. And why shouldn't he? As New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd argued, the former vice president was often treated horribly by Obama and his loyal cadre of insufferable bros, who considered dropping Biden in favor of Hillary Clinton ahead of the 2012 election. Politico wrote in 2014 that, among other things, Biden resented being "managed into a box by Obama's cocky campaign team."

In eight years, the Obamas never invited Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill (Ed.D.), to the White House living quarters. The former First Couple, millionaires many times over, didn't contribute a single dollar to Biden's presidential campaign last year. That shouldn't come as a shock, given the lengths to which Obama reportedly went to stop Biden from running for president—first in 2016 and again in 2020.

"It had stung Biden badly in 2015 when Obama made clear his preference for Hillary Clinton," journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes wrote in Lucky: How Joe Biden Barely Won the Presidency. "Adding insult to injury, Obama's advisers told Biden aides back then that they didn't think he could beat Clinton. They pressured him to get out of the way."

Biden was especially insulted because he thought, correctly, that Hillary was a "terrible candidate" who would be easy to beat. Hillary's devastating loss to Donald Trump did little to change Obama's mind about 2020. He continued to worry that Biden would "embarrass" or "dishonor" himself on the campaign trail and urged him not to run, telling his former running mate, "You don't have to do this, Joe."

Behind Biden's back, Obama reportedly told Democrats that the former VP "really doesn't have it" and warned them not to "underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up." Being the political genius that he is, Obama and his closest advisers "seemed to be enamored with" Beto O'Rourke, the failed Senate candidate whose disastrous presidential campaign flamed out months before the Iowa caucuses.

Nevertheless, Biden was one of the only candidates who stood up for Obama during the Democratic primary. Obama's name was rarely mentioned during the Democratic debates, and most of the candidates implicitly attacked his record on a host of issues, including health care, immigration, and trade.

That dynamic has largely persisted since Biden took office, with Democrats such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) retroactively bashing the "small" and "measly" stimulus package Obama championed in 2009 while touting the "big things" Democrats planned to accomplished under Biden.

No one cares about Obama anymore. His legacy is nonexistent. It's as if his presidency never happened, doomed to be overshadowed by the transformative leadership of the former running mate he despised.

In fact, Obama handed the robber barons and outright criminals responsible for the 2008–09 financial crisis a multi-trillion-dollar bailout. His administration oversaw the largest redistribution of wealth in history from the bottom to the top one percent, spearheading the attack on the living standards of teachers and autoworkers. 

This was not because of difficulties in securing indictments or convictions. On the contrary, Attorney General Eric Holder told a Senate committee in March of 2013 that the Obama administration chose not to prosecute the big banks or their CEOs because to do so might “have a negative impact on the national economy.”

The President and his top economic advisers bought the “too big to fail” concept, the notion that regardless of how profligate, irresponsible, even criminal, heads of the leading financial institutions in America had been, it would be worse for the nation if those institutions were to collapse. Consequently, while pushing a legislative agenda of public bail-outs, the Obama Administration maintained a secret program of multi-trillion dollar loans, including billions at below market interest rates. Trump criticized Dimon (Obama’s fave bankster donor) in 2013 for supposedly contributing to the country’s economic downturn. “I’m not Jamie Dimon, who pays $13 billion to settle a case and then pays $11 billion to settle a case and who I think is the worst banker in the United States,” he told reporters.

There is an unquestioned disconnect between the vast majority of the American people and the so-called elites or ruling class.  Whenever I am in the company of those that are members of this exclusive fraternity, and when the conversation inevitably turns to the subject of the irascible mood of the electorate, I offer what I consider to be a valid theory as to one of the primary reasons why.  That is: a plurality of the populace, myself included, firmly believe the United States is approaching the point of no return to its founding as a nation of individual freedom and opportunity, and that the 2016 election is the most significant in 150 years insofar as determining the long term fate of the country.

More often than not these acquaintances react as if Chicken Little had just escaped the asylum and was running amok claiming the sky is falling.   However, in an effort to be kind to the loon in their midst, I have been told, as a figurative pat on the head, because of my personal background as displaced war orphan from World War II that I am hypersensitive and what is going on in America really isn’t as bad as I claim.

Not as bad as I claim? 

Not since the presidential election of 1932 has the American electorate been so mired in discontent.  Despite the best efforts of the media to portray this discontentment as limited to the Republican base, a variety of polls have confirmed a vast majority of the populace shares this same sense of disgruntlement.  Innumerable polls taken over the past seven years are consistent in showing nearly 7 in 10 Americans believing the nation is headed in the wrong direction. 

Further, nearly 60% think that the next generation will be worse off than they are. And few have any faith that the economic outlook for the country will improve in the near or distant future.

Beginning in the late 1980’s, the cognoscenti declared that expansive government spending, globalization and free trade, combined with a comprehensive and overarching regulatory regime determined to root out so-called corruption and inequality as well as save the planet from the over blown evils of global warming, would be the course the nation should pursue.  The result of this foolhardy and myopic scheme:

1. In 1988 the national debt of the United States stood at $2.6 Trillion, today it is over $19.0 Trillion-- an increase of 635% (and projected to reach $29.0 Trillion by 2026).  On the other hand the debt of all the nations on earth has grown by only 135% since 1988.

2. Since November of 2008 the working age population has increased by over 18 million. However, the number of those employed has increased just 5.5 million.  Meanwhile those unemployed or no longer in the work force has ballooned by 12.4 million to a staggering total of 102 million or 40.4% of the working age population.

3. Another factor impacting on the economic health of the American people is immigration.  In 1988 there were 16 million immigrants (including less than a million illegal aliens) living in the United States.  Today that number has skyrocketed to 42.4 million (including an estimated 12 million illegal aliens).  This enormous increase (165%) in the immigrant population has not only put pressure on a stagnant job market but it has also been a major factor in the decline of median income in the country.

4. The upshot of all the above is that since 1988 the income of the top 5% has risen 39.3% (adjusted for inflation) and the income of the bottom 50% has fallen by 1.9%.

5. Since 2008 the Obama cabal has added over 18,000 pages to the Code of Federal Regulations. It is estimated that complying with federal regulations costs the economy nearly $2 Trillion per year and is, along with taxes and innumerable mandates, one of the principle reasons for the lack of new business start-ups and loss of jobs to other countries.

One of the primary hallmarks of the United States had been that of a classless society wherein economic factors allowed the citizenry to take advantage of the marketplace in order to move up or down based on their efforts and willingness to work.  However, this scenario is disappearing as the opportunities for upward mobility cease to exist.  In its place a class driven society, similar to all other quasi-socialist nations past and present, is now becoming inevitable as even the Bureau of Labor Statistics admits that the level of Americans working and in the labor force will continue to decrease over the next 8 years.

Another of the primary factors in the decline of the United States is that the nation’s elites, rather than view education as the means for the people to attain success in a competitive world, have recast it into a vehicle for their pet theories and political views.  Whether it is the promulgation of faux self-esteem, the obsession with the so-called evils of capitalism and the nation’s past, and the theoretical joys of socialism among other inane curricula, the education establishment has assured that the American people are rapidly becoming among the least well-educated populations in the world.

In 2013 American 15 year olds ranked 32^nd among industrialized countries in math, 20^th in reading and 24^th in science.  In 1988 this same age group ranked among the top 5-10 nations in the world in these same categories. Further, recent polls have indicated that as a byproduct of the radicalized education establishment, nearly 7 out of 10 between the ages of 18 and 29 would vote for an avowed socialist. Thus it is clear that the future of the country is on very shaky ground.

As for the issue of freedom: in a recent analysis it was determined that the United States now ranks 12^th among the nations of the world in economic freedom (6^thin 2008) but a dismal 31^st in personal freedom (17^th in 2008).  The authors of the study commented:

The decline reflects the long-term drop in every category of economic freedom and its rule of law indicators. The US performance is worrisome and shows that the US can no longer claim to be the leading bastion of liberty in the world.  In addition to the expansion of the regulatory state and drop in economic freedom, the war on terror, the war on drugs and the erosion of property rights due to a greater use of eminent domain all likely contributed to the US decline.

Using the cudgel of the mainstream media, the entertainment complex and the education establishment, the Left and its surrogate, the Democratic Party, have successfully inculcated into a plurality of the American people a belief that there are no moral absolutes and that the state can grant any rights that it so chooses to whomever it chooses.  Further, the nation’s founding documents are arcane, racially insensitive, and unsuitable for today.  Thus religious liberty, property rights and freedom of speech are under aggressive assault.  The Judiciary is now almost under the complete control of these same statists, and with the death of Justice Scalia the last line of defense, the Supreme Court, is in peril.

The vast majority of the American people sense that the future of the nation and that of their progeny is in serious jeopardy.  However, one of the most troubling aspects of the current unease and angst among the general public is what this portends: when anger and frustration evolve into deep seated passion, reason is too often a casualty.  As Thomas Sowell recently wrote:

Too many nations, in desperate times, especially after the authorities have discredited themselves and forfeited the trust of the people, have turned to some new and charismatic leader, who ended up turning a dire situation into an utter catastrophe,

This has been true throughout history whether in England in the 1650’s, France in the 1790’s, or Russia, Italy and Germany in the 20^th century. 

In the current campaign for the next president, there are candidates attempting to tap into the ire of the citizenry by either promising that a purer form of socialism will magically solve the problems or by claiming that they, by sheer force of their will and personality, will part the seas and save the nation.  Unfortunately, due to the ill-education of the populace as well as their angst, far too many seeds of this demagoguery are falling on fertile ground.  The election of any of these candidates will only exacerbate and make permanent the nations woes.

So to my ruling class friends safely ensconced in Washington, New York and other enclaves among the like-minded and wealthy, this nation is at the point of no return to the country of freedom and opportunity that allowed you to be where you are.  The folks in fly-over country know it and so should you.

24 GOP Reps. Seek ATF Investigation Into Hunter Biden’s Alleged Gun-Purchase Crime

Twenty-four Republican House members are asking ATF nominee David Chipman to pledge an investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged false answers on background check form 4473.

Breitbart News noted that Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, allegedly gave a false answer regarding drug use when purchasing a gun in 2018.

The Daily Wire reports twenty-four House Republicans sent a letter to Chipman on Monday asking whether he will investigate Hunter’s actions if confirmed to head the ATF.

A pertinent portion of the letter says:

Many Americans are rightfully alarmed by these reports considering Mr. Biden’s history of drug use…In the past, the Biden family has been open about Mr. Biden’s struggle with substance abuse, and Navy records indicate his discharge from service following a positive drug test. Since lying on a background check form is a felony, this allegation merits investigation.

ATF form 4473, which Hunter allegedly lied on, asks:

Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.

The penalties for lying on the ATF form include fines up to $250,000 and/or ten years of imprisonment.

Biden will be a guest lecturer for the ten-week course, which will “explore the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the news business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C.,” a copy of the course syllabus obtained by DailyMail.com explains.

In another interview, he falsely claimed that the intelligence community had determined that the reports on the laptop contents by the New York Post were based on ‘Russian disinformation,’ which then-ODNI John Ratcliffe flatly denied.

“The laptop became the center of a political firestorm in October after the New York Post published bombshell reports based on information from the laptop, fueling allegations of unethical foreign business transactions by Hunter Biden while Joe Biden served as vice president.

“However, social media giants and members of the mainstream media went to great lengths to prevent the story from being seen.”

The censorship of The New York Post for reporting news potentially detrimental to Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is the last straw, and conservatives are going to fight back, Bozell said last October when the story was banned from social media, announcing a new MRC initiative to combat social media censorship:

“This isn’t a case of bias against conservatives – this is an outright attempt to suppress the conservative conversation and, maybe, even politicians that don’t subscribe to the radical views of Silicon Valley.” 

Darkness Falls: Bezos-Owned Washington Post To Stop Keeping Track of Biden’s Lies

The Washington Post will no longer maintain a database of President Joe Biden's false and misleading claims, executive fact checker Glenn Kessler announced this week.

The paper, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, will continue to fact check statements from Biden and others. Kessler, for example, recently challenged Sen. Tim Scott's (R., S.C.) claim that his grandfather—a black farmer who grew up in South Carolina during the Great Depression—did not lead a particularly privileged life.

Kessler has determined that Biden does not lie enough—he's more of a "flub" kind of guy; an old geezer who's trying his best—to extend the database of presidential mistruths beyond his first 100 days in office. The Post‘s readers, meanwhile, are presumably less interested in fact checks that don't involve Donald Trump (or any Republican), so the decision makes sense from a business perspective.

The move is the latest example of a journalistic organization abandoning a crucial "accountability" project in the post-Trump era. It could also be related to the so-called burnout many professional journalists have complained about in recent weeks. The New York Times announced last week, for instance, that Taylor Lorenz and other employees would get special days off for "exhaustion" in 2021.

The Post‘s motto is "Democracy dies in darkness."
