Study: More than 7-in-10 California Immigrant

Welfare

More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals.

The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S.

Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California.

All four states with the largest foreign-born populations, including California, have extremely high use of welfare by immigrant households. In Texas, for example, nearly 70 percent of households headed by immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare. Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of native-born households in Texas are on welfare.

In New York and Florida, a majority of households headed by immigrants and noncitizens are on welfare. Overall, about 63 percent of immigrant households use welfare while only 35 percent of native-born households use welfare.

President Trump’s administration is looking to soon implement a policy that protects American taxpayers’ dollars from funding the mass importation of welfare-dependent foreign nationals by enforcing a “public charge” rule whereby legal immigrants would be less likely to secure a permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using Obamacare, food stamps, and public housing.

The immigration controls would be a boon for American taxpayers in the form of an annual $57.4 billion tax cut — the amount taxpayers spend every year on paying for the welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the country’s mass importation of 1.5 million new, mostly low-skilled legal immigrants.

As Breitbart News reported, the majority of the more than 1.5 million foreign nationals entering the country every year use about 57 percent more food stamps than the average native-born American household. Overall, immigrant households consume 33 percent more cash welfare than American citizen households and 44 percent more in Medicaid dollars. This straining of public services by a booming 44 million foreign-born population translates to the average immigrant household costing American taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare.

Fact Check: Joe Biden Correctly Claims ‘There’s Not a Single Thing American Workers Can’t Do’

CLAIM: Presidential candidate Joe Biden said, “There’s not a single thing American workers can’t do.”

VERDICT: True, yet Biden and his campaign repeatedly contradict the statement by claiming that Americans’ economy needs immigrants.

Biden said in his August 21 acceptance speech that “there’s not a single thing American workers can’t do.”

The text of Biden’s speech portrayed economic growth as tied to continued immigration. But Biden also ad-libbed his “not a single thing” statement, creating a massive contradiction in his speech.

Biden’s ad-libbed comment is in italics:

My economic plan is all about jobs, dignity, respect, and community. Together, we can, and we will, rebuild our economy. And when we do, we’ll not only build it back, we’ll build it back better.

With modern roads, bridges, highways, broadband, ports, and airports as a new foundation for economic growth, with pipes that transport clean water to every community, with five million new manufacturing and technology jobs so the future is made in America.

With a healthcare system that lowers premiums, deductibles, and drug prices by building on the Affordable Care Act he’s trying to rip away.

With an education system that trains our people for the best jobs of the 21st century, — there’s not a single thing American workers can’t do! — and where cost doesn’t prevent young people from going to college, and student debt doesn’t crush them when they get out.

With child care and elder care that make it possible for parents to go to work and for the elderly to stay in their homes with dignity, with an immigration system that powers our economy and reflects our values, with newly empowered labor unions, with equal pay for women.

So the speech text ties economic growth to the Democrats’ priority of “an immigration system that powers our economy.” But Biden declared, “There is not a single thing that American workers can’t do.”

Biden’s website also touts the Democrats’ near-unanimous demand for more immigration, despite his ad-libbed comments.

The site says immigration is essential:

It’s the reason we have constantly been able to renew ourselves, to grow better and stronger as a nation, and to meet new challenges. Immigration is essential to who we are as a nation, our core values, and our aspirations for our future.

Key sectors of the U.S. economy, from agriculture to technology, rely on immigration. Working-age immigrants keep our economy growing, our communities thriving, and country moving forward.

Immigrants are essential to the strength of our country and the U.S. economy.

But the historical evidence suggests that Biden’s ad-lib is correct and that immigration is just an option — not a necessity — for economic or technological growth.

In the century after 1940, the United States suppressed slavery, built railroads across the country, contrasted a vast industrial economy, invented flight, electricity, and autos, and delivered near-universal education and suffrage. But immigration was sharply reduced after 1925, and it then dropped to very low levels in the 1940s and 1950s.

During the 50 years of low immigration after 1925, Americans created Social Security, destroyed Aryan socialism and contained international socialism, invented suburbia and rock and roll, and flew to the moon. They designed the Boeing 747, ended smallpox and polio, invented numerous other life-saving drugs, the computer, the Internet, and cellphones, and created the wealthiest population in history.

In 1860, almost 60 percent of the population worked on farms. In 1920, 27 percent worked on farms, and that number plummeted to 2.6 percent in 1990.

In 1860, roughly 34 percent of children died before reaching age five. By 1925, it had dropped by half to just 14 percent. From 1925 to 1965, the death rate plummeted to only 2.9 percent, amid the arrival of clean water, clean food, suburbs, and novel antibiotics.

“Drivers on the road nearly tripled from 8 million in 1920 to 23 million in 1929. … From 1940 to 1960, auto ownership in the United States more than doubled from 27.5 million registered vehicles in 1940 to 61.5 million in 1960,” according to Cityscope.com. Roughly 60 percent of American families owned autos in 1960, and that number rose to 90 percent by 2000, freeing hundreds of millions of people to range far for work, recreation, and freedom.

Americans invented aircraft and air travel, allowing humans to free travel through a new dimension — and then built the Boeing 747 to enable everyone in the world to follow them.

Americans raced the Russians into unexplored space, got the moon first, and built a new world of satellites for everyone to use — without a care about how the satellites got into space.

Americans invented the computer age in 1950, so creating a new virtual dimension for humans explore, and then built the first personal computer so the world could follow Americans.

Jonas Salk’s 1950s cure for polio was just the most visible of the revolutionary life-saving drugs produced by the U.S. pharmaceutical sector in the 1960s, ensuring many millions of saved lives around the world.

The evidence shows that Biden’s ad-libbed comment — “There’s not a single thing American workers can’t do” — is true.

Democrats Wish Upon a Star

Welcome to the Happy Land of pathetic progressive make-believe.

Last week, the Democrat Party had its national convention at the summit of the Big Rock Candy Mountain in the Happy Land of Make Believe – a place of magic and wonder where reality is shaped by whim and whatever you wish is true, just because you wish it. Joe Biden is now the Mayor. Kamala Harris provides hair-sniffing morale.

Democrats have been accused of lying. But to be guilty of that, you have to be able to distinguish between lies and the truth.

For the Democrat Party, reality is like the lyrics from “Pinocchio” -- ”anything your heart desires will come to you.” As Slow Joe once said, his party chooses truth (that which confirms its ideology) over facts (that which contradicts it).

Here are a few of the truths Democrats cling to:

  1. There is no rioting in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Denver, etc. just “peaceful protests” the President is trying to suppress with his “stormtroopers,” as Nancy Pelosi would have it.

Reality check: It’s lovely on the banks of denial this time of year. Portland, Oregon has had over 80 consecutive nights of rioting. On August 18, a man was pulled from a truck, beaten savagely, kicked in the head repeatedly, and left unconscious and bleeding. On 10 separate occasions, the Portland police declared a riot.

  1. Trump is responsible for COVID-19 deaths. In his convention speech, Barack Obama said the consequences of Donald Trump’s failure to “grow into the job of president” include “170,000 dead Americans.”

Reality check: The virus was developed by the Democrats’ friends in Communist China, who waited too long to tell us about it. When Trump banned travel from China early on in the pandemic, the Democrats called it racist. Trump moved heaven and earth to increase the production of everything from ventilators to surgical gloves – after years of neglect of our Emergency Medical Service Systems by guess-who.

  1. The Postal Service will do superb job of delivering ballots, if only Trump will fully fund it.

Reality check: USPS is such a model of efficiency that it lost $69 billion in the 11 years ending in 2019. In New York City’s June 23 primary, 84,000 mail-in ballots were disqualified. Mail-in ballots are the perfect vehicle for voter fraud. If the Democrats have their way, in November, there will be special pickups at graveyards and points of entry for illegal aliens.

  1. Obama presided over an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity.

Reality check: In December 2016, the unemployment rate was 4.7%. Without a substantial drop in the labor participation rate, it would have been 9%. Before the Coronavirus, Trump got it down to 3.5% During the Obama years, American prestige was at an all-time low, due to the Benghazi disaster (the administration’s refusal to lift a finger to save the lives of four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya), among the more notable disasters.

  1. Democrats don’t want to defund the police. Democrats support the police.

Reality check: In Democrat-controlled cities, crime rates and police retirements have soared simultaneously. From June 29 to July 7, New York City police officers filing for retirement increased 411% over the same period in 2019. The city is cutting a billion from the NYPD budget, one-sixth of the total. Cops are so appreciative of Democrat support that, thus far, Trump’s reelection has been endorsed by New Jersey’s largest police union, the New York Police Benevolent Association (for the first time in 36 years), the International Union of Police Associations and the National Association of Police Organizations.

  1. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s deployment of a praetorian guard around her home is necessitated by threats she’s received and has nothing to do with the crime wave she can’t control.

Reality check: There have been as many as 140 officers assigned to guard the mayor’s home. Lightweight says it’s due to the “specific threats made every day to my person, wife (not a typo) and my home.” It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact that in the first seven months of this year, there were 440 homicides and 2,240 shootings in Chicago, compared to 290 killings and 1,480 shootings in the same period in 2019.

  1. Higher taxes, growth-killing energy regulations and massive unfunded spending will lead to job growth and prosperity.

Reality check: If so, the 1970s should have been Fat City, instead of the era of stagflation and Jimmy Carter, whose sole accomplishment was paving the way for Ronald Reagan.

  1. Democrats aren’t socialists.

Reality check: The party’s rising stars, including AOC and the Squad, are avowed socialists. Bernie Sanders, arguably the most revered figure in the party, was a socialist before it was popular. In 2018, 57% of Democrats told Gallup they had a positive view of socialism, compared to only 47% who had a positive view of capitalism.

  1.  Trump wants to destroy democracy. He rules by executive order. He uses troops against (all together now) “peaceful protestors.” If he loses the election, he won’t leave office.

Reality check – Obama shielded up to 5 million illegal aliens from deportation by executive order (something he’d earlier said was unconstitutional). Trump used troops exactly once, to defend the Church of the Presidents after anarchists attacked it. He used agents to protect a federal courthouse in Portland that Antifa tried repeatedly to demolish. Members of the Obama administration used a document they knew to be false to get a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. Their articles of impeachment were so ludicrous that not a single House Republican voted for them. Going on four years later, Democrats still refuse to acknowledge the outcome of the 2016 election. They believe fervently in democracy – when it’s convenient.

For the location of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, the finalists are Never-Never Land, Camelot, the Merry Old Land of Oz, and Joe’s Bargain Basement.
