How Democrats Recreated the Middle Ages in America’s Cities
And they want you to pay for it.

When it comes to federal aid, all Democratic mayors (backed by Democrat governors) are saying is: Don’t ask questions. Don’t expect accountability, or concern for public safety or the national interest. Just keep the money flowing.
The happy combination of ideology and gross incompetence which characterizes the administrations of most Blue cities has led to the current crisis.
The president has asked Attorney General William Barr to see if some federal funding can be withheld from cities that have allowed Antifa and Black Lives Matter to run rampant while crime rates soar.
The howls of outrage were deafening. Sounding like a mafia don (his alter ego), New York Gov. Dumbo said Trump would need an army to walk the streets of his hometown. He later walked that back, realizing that it sounded like he was channeling his inner Lee Harvey Oswald.
Having just emerged from the lab where his bolts were tightened, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said reducing federal funding for his city is “racist” (now that’s novel) -- unlike removing police protection from high-crime neighborhoods, which is a boon to minorities.
Mayors who’ve run their cities into the ground demand that the hard-working taxpayers of Indiana, Alabama and South Dakota bail them out.
According to the municipal watchdog Truth in Accounting, in 2019 (well before COVID-19), the unfunded debt of America’s 75 largest cities was $330 billion. Of these cities, 63 were insolvent.
The municipal response to the urban insurrection that threatens to destroy America is beyond disgraceful. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (who agrees with the mob on almost every point and fought to keep federal agents from his fair city) was forced to flee his $840,000 condo when peaceful protestors tried to burn it to the ground.
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is a social justice warrior nonpareil. Her Facilities and Commemorative Expressions Committee is working on recommendations to remove statues and rename public buildings to stop honoring those who participated in “slavery, systematic racism, mistreatment of, or actions that suppressed equality for, persons of color, women and LGBTQ communities” – in other words, those like Christopher Columbus, Andy Jackson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Francis Scott Key who offended the gods of political correctness.
Bowser has her priorities straight. Forget the violence of anarchist mobs and everyday crime that plagues our nation’s capital, including the cowardly assault on Senator Rand Paul and his wife leaving the White House. Bowser thinks the average DC resident doesn’t care if his kid is shot dead on the playground, as long as all “public assets” reflect her ideology.
They may be losing businesses at record rates, but crime is booming. Even before the George Floyd riots, mayors like de Blasio and Chicago’s Lori Lightfoot decided that police budgets should be sacrificed to social spending. The latest madness is defunding the police.
The results have been painfully predictable. According to the Wall Street Journal, in the first half of this year, America’s 50 largest cities saw a 24% increase in homicides over the same period in 2019. Robberies, rapes and other violent crimes are also surging.
Homelessness is another municipal growth industry. No matter how much money cities throw at it, things keep getting worse.
San Francisco is the public poop capital of the U.S. Due to the rise of homelessness and the city allowing vagrants to treat public places like toilets, reported cases of human feces on the streets almost tripled between 2011 ad 2017. Public safety and sanitation, two of the pillars of civilization, have fallen together.
As the middle class flees California, illegal aliens and the homeless have made it their domain. Almost half of the nation’s unsheltered homeless call California home.
Los Angeles is becoming notorious for its homeless encampments -- distinguished by discarded needles, crime and disease. For some strange reason, crazies and addicts don’t make model citizens.
Statewide, reported cases of Typhus increased from 13 to 167 between 2008 and 2018. Tuberculous, Hepatitis A and Staph infections are, according to one account, “spreading aggressively in San Francisco and other California cities.”
Exotic diseases bred in Third World conditions are making a comeback. Public health experts warn of a resurgence of bubonic plague. Leave it to Democrats to recreate the Middle Ages in America’s cities.
The Medieval Party has finally taken notice of growing public disgust which will impact on the election.
A Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll shows 77% of Americans are extremely or very concerned about the crime wave engulfing our cities, while a majority lay the blame on local officials (who belong to the party of catch and release) for not arresting and vigorously prosecuting the perps.
It doesn’t matter how much money Washington shovels at Democratic cities, nothing will change – except the taxpayers will be poorer and middle-class flight will accelerate.
Once again, the president considers a common-sense approach, and Democrats meet it with cries of “racism,” “political pandering” and illegality.
Cuomo says Trump has it in for Gotham, because “New York City rejected him always.” But not the New York City Police Benevolent Association, which just endorsed the president’s bid for re-election.
Fancy that.
Donald Trump: Black Lives Matter Protesters Harassing Elderly Couple in Pittsburgh Are ‘Thugs’
President Donald Trump reacted Tuesday to videos of Black Lives Matter protesters harassing a group of diners at a restaurant in Pittsburgh.
“These Anarchists, not protesters, are Biden voters, but he has no control and nothing to say,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Disgraceful. Never seen anything like it. Thugs!”
The videos on social media show protesters shouting at two elderly people sitting outside a restaurant and quietly enjoying their Sunday.

“Fuck 12 and fuck the white people that built the system set against mine,” one man says, taunting the couple.
One woman protester with a “Nazi Lives Don’t Matter” t-shirt walks over and takes a drink from the couple’s table and drinks it in front of them. Another protester tips over a glass that shatters on the sidewalk.
The president blamed Democrats for failing to enforce the law, allowing protesters to act violently.
“[B]ecause of weak and pathetic Democrat leadership, this thuggery is happening in other Democrat-run cities and states,” he wrote. “Must shut them down fast. Biden and his most Liberal in Senate running mate, Kamala, won’t even talk about it.”
Black Lives Matter protesters have confronted other diners in Washington, DC, and Rochester, New York.

At Least 51 Shot, 7 Fatally, Labor Day Weekend in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago
At least 51 people were shot, seven fatally, over Labor Day weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
On September 7, 2020, Breitbart News reported that 40 people had been shot, six fatally, Friday into Monday morning of Labor Day weekend in Lightfoot’s Chicago. By 10 p.m. Monday night, the Chicago Sun-Times reported at least 51 shooting victims—44 non-fatal and seven fatal—for the weekend.
ABC 7 reported the total number of Labor Day weekend shooting victims as 54.
Breitbart News reported that an eight-year-old girl was among Chicago’s Labor Day weekend fatalities. She was in a vehicle with her mother and two other adults Monday just before 6 p.m. when someone in the vehicle behind them opened fire, shooting her, a 31-year-old man, and a 30-year-old woman, all in their backs.
The eight-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
ABC 7 reports a 21-year-old man was also shot to death Monday “in Stony Island Park on the South Side” and a 22-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle in Humboldt Park.
As for non-fatal shootings, a Sunday incident in Chicago’s South Shore left four people on a sidewalk wounded when an SUV pulled up beside them and someone in the vehicle opened fire just before 6:30 p.m. Just hours before—at approximately 1:40 p.m.—three people were injured during a drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Gresham neighborhood.
Similar violence played out again and again during the weekend.
Breitbart News reported at least 46 were shot in Lightfoot’s Chicago last Friday, August 28, 2020, into Sunday night, August 30, 2020.

SF Mayor: No One's Immune From Virus Except BLM
This level of hypocrisy ought to be unsustainable and yet Democrat politicians and their media easily pivot from furiously scolding people for their selfishness as long as they gather for any other reason than a leftist rally or riot.
Even Burning Man isn't exempt.
"Last night, over 1,000 people crowded on Ocean Beach to celebrate Burning Man. This was absolutely reckless & selfish. You are not celebrating. You are putting people's lives at risk. You are putting our progress at risk. No one is immune from spreading the virus," Mayor London Breed tweeted.
Unless, you know, they're at a Black Lives Matter event.
Burning Man is stupid and its key demographic consists of lefties, but if you can gather in huge crowds for political reasons, you can gather in huge crowds to get high and set a statue on fire. And at least Burning Man sets their own statue on fire, instead of other people's statues.
It's impossible to take this self-righteous scolding seriously from the same politicians who take part in BLM events. All you can do is treat it and them with contempt.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed wasn't mincing words when she addressed a group of George Floyd protesters Monday at City Hall.
"You know, my heart has been heavy," she said to the crowd. "Yes, I'm the mayor, but I'm a black woman first."The mayor was joined by actor Jamie Foxx and other black community leaders at the kneel-in.

22 Arrested in Labor Day Seattle Protest, Hurl Molotov Cocktails at Police: ‘All My Heroes Kill Cops’
Twenty-two individuals were arrested as a result of the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Seattle on Labor Day, which saw protesters hurling Molotov cocktails at police officers.
Hundreds of activists marched to the Seattle Police Officer’s Guild (SPOG) building on Monday in a demonstration that descended into chaos, hallmarked by attempted arson, vandalism, and a sign reading “All My Heroes Kill Cops”:

Rioters clashed with officers, reportedly using bear spray and hurling incendiary devices at them. Seattle Police Department provided a picture of Molotov cocktails, which were “dropped by rioters outside the building as officers began making arrests,” according to the department:

KTTH’s Jason Rantz reported that police took swift action after spotting Molotov cocktails in the crowd of rioters. Demonstrators continued to hurl various projectiles at officers, including rocks and explosives:

Police arrested nearly two dozen rioters for “arson, assault, obstructing and failure to disperse” as a result of the protests.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) has largely failed to condemn the violent unrest in her city, reserving her sharp words for President Trump, blaming him for the escalation of violence in Democrat-run cities such as her own.
“Again, the president’s actions clearly have escalated things in Seattle, and across the country,” she said during a July appearance on CNN’s Outfront.
“I was just talking to a number of mayors throughout the country who saw a similar thing that — people wanting to act out against the president and his administration coming to the streets,” she continued, accusing Trump of “using law enforcement as a political tool.”
“I hate to say it, Erin, but I really believe that we are seeing the dry run for martial law,” she added. “This is a president that is using law enforcement and federal forces for political purposes, and that should be chilling to every American.”
