PELOSI SAYS 'WHY BOTHER ABOUT THE PRESIDENTICAL DEBATES? JOE IS STILL ASLEEP IN THE BASEMENT! - "The result of their lies and distortions will be an ever growing populace watching ever more closely."

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign called a “lid” for all public activities on Saturday — the tenth time in September that the Democrat nominee will not be on the campaign trail.

Around 9:30 a.m. the campaign informed reporters the former vice president had no public events or travel scheduled for the rest of the day. A “lid” usually also means the candidate will not conduct press conferences or dispense press releases.

The announcement was not surprising given that Biden, himself, told the media on Wednesday he would be “heavily” engaged for the rest of the week with preparations for the upcoming presidential debate. Given that the general election is less than 40 days away, however, the act by Biden’s campaign elicited rebuke on social media. Many were quick to note that the former vice president was on track to be off the campaign trail more than a third of this month, with at least four lids called in the past seven days alone.

More than a few reporters were quick to note that the Democrat nominee’s schedule stands in stark contrast to that of President Donald Trump, who has increased his travel in recent weeks as the general election has kicked into gear. On Saturday alone, Trump is scheduled to announce his nominee for the Supreme Court seat vacated by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, before flying to Pennsylvania for a rally with supporters.

The differences in schedules between Trump and Biden is quickly becoming a topic on the campaign trail. On Friday, during a visit to Atlanta, Georgia, Trump took a shot at Biden’s team for the frequency with which it allows the candidate to disappear from the campaign trail.

“If I lose to [this] guy — that’s like you losing to a fighter that, you know, hasn’t worked out in the last six months,” the president said. “This guy never goes out! It’s terrible, huh?”

Pelosi: ‘Why Bother’ Holding a Presidential Debate? — Trump ‘Isn’t Committed to Our Constitution’....AND JOE IS DEEP IN HIS DEMENTIA DOWN IN THE BASEMENT

With many criticizing 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden of hiding in his basement for the majority of his campaign, presidential debates seemingly would be a good way for the former vice president to refute claims of a decline in mental cognizance and that he is pushing a socialist agenda.

During a Friday interview on CBS’s “This Morning,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) doubled down on saying Biden should not debate President Donald Trump. Pelosi argued that Trump “has no fidelity to fact or truth” and “isn’t committed to our Constitution,” thus she asked “why bother” holding a debate with him.

Host Gayle King asked, “You had earlier suggested that you didn’t think Biden should debate. Do you still feel that way?”

“I do,” Pelosi replied. “Not that I don’t think he’ll be excellent. I just think that the president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually, in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution of the United States. He and his henchmen are a danger with their comments, are a danger to our democracy. So, I didn’t want to give him — you know, why bother — you know, he doesn’t tell the truth, he isn’t committed to our Constitution.”

King pushed back against Pelosi, referring to Trump’s supporters as “henchmen,” suggesting it could be “just as insulting” as the things he says about her.

“Your language to some is just as egregious as what they’re saying by calling the president’s people henchmen. Some could say that’s just as insulting as what he’s saying about you,” King advised.

Pelosi responded, “Well, I don’t care what he says about me. Every knock from him is a boost for me. If he wants to help me raise money, he can keep knocking me. But I’m speaking truth. Our Constitution is at the mercy of people who have no allegiance to the Constitution of the United States.”

Biden's decline and the debates

The first debate will be a reckoning for both Joe Biden and the media.  Despite the MSM's "nothing to see here" reporting of the lifeless Biden campaign, the entire country is finally noticing that there is, in fact, something to see, and it's very, very troubling.  While Trump zigzags his way across multiple states per day, his masked competitor is fading faster than the setting sun at equinox.  The Biden campaign has been shutting down completely for days at a time by calling a lid on any activity or interviews, while President Trump's incredible vim and vigor on the campaign trail shines the spotlight on his opponent's apparent decline.  The media, however, can only keep calm and carry on as the alarm bells grow ever louder.

Spectators, especially on the right, will be laser-focused next week on the first presidential debate.  We will be especially fixated on media fairness and impartiality, or the lack thereof.  If Chris Wallace or any of the other moderators think they can get away with double-standard treatment of the opponents (softballs for Biden, hardballs for Trump), they have another thing coming.  We've been witness to debate bias, à la Candy Crowley, and never want to see that again.  The media may think they are helping Biden with their complete and utter lack of transparency as to the gravity of his issues, but any blatant assists to their favored candidate during these debates will backfire spectacularly.

The media continue to perform a great disservice to the American people and to their own cause — they have downplayed the remarkable decline of a U.S. presidential candidate with claims that there is nothing to see.  The result of their lies and distortions will be an ever growing populace watching ever more closely.
