The California Supreme Court affirmed that a viable fetus is a legal life
Much to my surprise, California law limits abortion once the fetus is viable. That’s why the California Supreme Court held that the state could bring murder charges against a woman who gave birth to a stillborn child after using meth. The state’s leftist Attorney General – who will join a hypothetical Biden administration – finds this ruling disturbing. However, a story out of Novato, California, ought to make him rethink the value of life.
The Supreme Court’s ruling addressed the case of Chelsea Becker, a resident of Kings County, California. Becker was eight-and-a-half months pregnant when she gave birth to a stillborn baby that had methamphetamine in its system. Becker admitted to using the drug but nevertheless pleaded not guilty.
Attorney General Xavier Becerra intervened in the case to try to get the charge dismissed. However, Kings County, which is located in California’s Central Valley, gave 54.9% of its votes to Donald Trump. Perhaps that’s why the county prosecutor charged Becker with murder in the first place.
If Becerra’s name seems familiar, that’s because Joe Biden, when putting together his hypothetical cabinet, nominated Becerra to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, despite his lack of any meaningful experience in that area. He’s a leftist and “diverse” (Becerra is Hispanic), so he fits the Biden checklist.
Becerra is devoted to “reproductive rights”:

The case could also prompt extra scrutiny by law enforcement on miscarriages and stillbirths, he said.
The Supreme Court, however, has held firm. At eight-and-a-half months, there’s no doubt that the fetus was viable and, as Philip Esbenshade, the executive assistant to Keith Fagundes, the Kings County DA said, the law allows a murder charge for “the reckless or indifferent unlawful conduct of a mother that results in the unlawful death of her fetus.”
The Supreme Court’s decision not to stop Becker’s prosecution was reported on Christmas Eve day. Then, on Christmas Day, the Marin IJ published a sweet story about Janet Jones, a nurse in Novato, California, who finally got called into work after three months of forced time at home due to the pandemic. When Jones got the call, she picked up the phone for the first time in three months and called 26-year-old Kelsey Formslag, her dog sitter, to let Kelsey know that she’d be dropping off her teacup poodle, Noche, before dawn.
The drop-off time arrived and Jones did not show up with Noche. When ten minutes had passed, Kelsey decided something was wrong and texted her mother, Sara Formslag, who lived near Jones and asked Sara to check on Jones. Sara took her daughter’s warning seriously, went to Jones’s house, and discovered that Jones was seriously ill.
When Sara arrived, Jones was running a 105-degree fever and showing serious speech, vision, and memory impairment. It turned out Jones had gotten meningitis which had gone untreated (I’m guessing because of the lockdown), and she’d then developed a brain abscess:
“It was really in nick of time,” Sara Formslag said. “Honestly, the doctor told Janet if it would have been any longer she wouldn’t be in the condition she is today. It was just a matter of minutes. All the pieces fell into place.
“Kelsey has a little bit of a sixth sense. She definitely senses things and she knew something was wrong.”
I’m sure you’re wondering what this story has to do with Becker’s criminal case. This is why it matters:
The 26-year-old has Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic condition that affects behavior and intellectual and physical development.
In other words, it’s entirely possible that, when it comes to academic matters, Kelsey has a lower-than-average IQ. Also, like most Americans, she probably will never be a rocket scientist.
Prader-Willi syndrome can be detected prenatally, and it’s probable that many parents, if they are advised that their child has the syndrome, will opt for an abortion. In Iceland, for example, almost all Down syndrome babies are aborted.
Kelsey, however, was not aborted. She grew up, became a loving and loved child, a responsible adult, and a person who might have a sixth sense. Because Kelsey lived, Janet Jones lives.
Every life has the potential for value, just as every life has the potential to be destructive. Given that we can’t see the future, we should always err on the side of believing in the good that every life has within it.
And that’s something that Xavier Becerra, with his devotion to abortion, might like to consider.

All of this is, if we can be permitted to use Biden’s catchphrase, “malarkey.” Harris has already proven herself as a trusted servant of the interests of the rich and powerful at the expense of the working class. The Wall Street Journal wrote last week that Wall Street financers had breathed a “sigh of relief” at Biden’s pick of Harris. Industry publication American Banker noted that her steadiest stream of campaign funding has come from financial industry professionals and their most trusted law firms.
There is something fitting in the selection of Harris to co-lead the Democrats’ ticket. The response of the Democrats to the mass multi-racial and multi-ethnic protests against police violence that erupted earlier this year was to divert them into the politics of racial division, using the reactionary and false claim that what was involved was a conflict between “white America” and “black America,” rather than a conflict between the working class and capitalism.
California Judge Orders Video Journalists to Pay $13.6 M to Planned Parenthood
A federal judge in California ordered the video journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s practices in the harvesting and sales of aborted baby body parts to pay the abortion giant $13.6 million to cover its legal costs in its case against them.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge William Orrick III ordered David Daleiden and his associates at Center for Medical Progress (CMP) to pay $13.6 million over the $2 million in damages they were ordered to pay last year for recording the abortion vendor’s officials while they discussed how they harvest the fetal tissue for sale.
Daleiden and his advocates have now appealed the verdict to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In November 2019, a jury found the pro-life journalists violated the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), causing significant harm to Planned Parenthood with its video series, and awarded the punitive damages to the abortion provider.

Orrick, Daleiden told SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight soon afterward, “is actually the founder of a Planned Parenthood of Northern California clinic in San Francisco.”
He added what he and his legal team discovered about the relationship between Orrick and high-level Democrats:
Planned Parenthood, very intentionally and very strategically and with a lot of gamesmanship, filed this case specifically to get it in San Francisco in front of Judge William Orrick, who is an Obama appointee, who was a bundler for the Obama campaign for hundreds of thousands of dollars, is best friends with Tom Steyer.
Daleiden and his attorneys unsuccessfully attempted to get Orrick recused from the case several times.
The judge blocked the jury from viewing all the undercover video he produced during his undercover investigation, Daleiden said.
In addition, Orrick’s wife’s Facebook account was found to have included posted public comments — along with a photo of her and her husband — that indicated support for Planned Parenthood and criticism of Daleiden and CMP.
Planned Parenthood has yet to be prosecuted for any of the allegations of profiting from the sales of the body parts of babies aborted in its clinics.
In June 2019, Senate Judiciary Chairman(SJC) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and his predecessor Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), wrote to Attorney General William Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray, seeking an update on the federal investigation that was supposedly launched in 2017 into the allegations raised, in part, through the video documentation by CMP.
The senators asked Barr and Wray to respond to their inquiry no later than July 2 of last year.
In August 2019, Breitbart News reached out to the Senate Judiciary Committee (SJC) press team for an update on the Department of Justice/FBI response and was informed SJC was still awaiting a response.
In January 2020, Daleiden told Breitbart News the civil and criminal cases against him and his colleagues “are really all part of the same conspiracy.”
“Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation and Kamala Harris and the California Attorney General’s office,” he said. “All violating our First Amendment civil rights.”

In an op-ed at Breitbart News in October, Daleiden wrote that Harris, who ordered a raid on his California home, is “one of the biggest threats to First Amendment civil liberties that our country has ever seen.”
He continued:
Does anyone doubt that if I had been investigating and publishing undercover video reports on unlicensed gun sales, factory farming, or unsanitary grocery practices, that Harris never would have dreamed of raiding my home? Local news reporters in California tape and publish undercover conversations with corrupt chiropractors in their offices, fraudulent repairmen in private homes, and vendors in unlicensed marijuana dispensaries, but are not prosecuted under the California video recording law. Yet I, who filmed in crowded public restaurants and hotel lobbies, had my home raided and face the first-ever criminal charges for newsgathering under the recording law.
“Is there any doubt why Kamala Harris subjected me alone among undercover video reporters in California to this selective standard of ‘justice?’” he asked. “It is because I dared to question Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, and to speak the truth: Planned Parenthood sells baby parts.”
