Video shot this week in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas shows firsthand, the never-ending stream of migrants illegally entering the United States. Many of the migrants shared their stories as they made their way to a receiving area set up by the Border Patrol. The migrants, depending on where they illegally enter, walk up to several miles to reach the area where they will surrender.

In a few short hours, near Mission, Tx, Breitbart Texas observed more than 250 migrants illegally crossing the border from Mexico. The endless groups of migrants consisted mostly of whole families and unaccompanied children. Some unaccompanied children, as young as 9 years old, walked through the brush and farm fields in search of Border Patrol agents. The migrants guided themselves by following makeshift signs on sheets of plywood placed strategically to keep them from getting lost.

All of the migrants Breitbart Texas spoke to were from Central America. Some claimed to be fleeing poverty in their home country while others hinted at persecution.

Very few Border Patrol Agents could be found in the area as many are removed from front-line patrols due to the humanitarian needs of caring for the surge in unaccompanied children. Border Patrol facilities are reported to be overcrowded due to the sheer volume of apprehensions made during the last two months.

A never-ending stream of Border Patrol buses arrived at a temporary processing center near the Rio Grande to transport migrants to other facilities for later release. Earlier this week, the Border Patrol implemented a plan to release migrants into the United States with minimal processing of their asylum claims. Their cases are not being reported to immigration courts, saving Border Patrol Agents processing time in order to accommodate the increased migrant flow in the area. The increased migrant traffic is still troubling to Border Patrol agents in the field.

Border Patrol Agent Chris Cabrera, in his role as vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, finds the situation concerning.

“This is more than a crisis; we need more boots on the ground in this area,” Cabrera told Breitbart. “We still have aliens running from us and not enough agents to chase them.”

“We don’t know who those people are and what threat they may pose unless we can apprehend them,” the veteran border agent explained. “That’s getting harder every day”.

Although some migrants are returned swiftly due to the CDC’s Title 42 COVID-19 protection protocol, those with small children are exempted and released into the United States.

There simply are not enough Border Patrol agents to respond to the surge of crossings, process, and provide care for those currently in custody. The Border Patrol is struggling to even provide transportation from the river to processing centers as the numbers continue to grow.

Border Patrol Agent Cabrera is concerned that the situation could prove deadly as the summer months approach. “The dangers out here are deceiving,” he said. “A person can become dehydrated in this heat in a very short amount of time.”

“The river poses an equally dangerous hazard,” Cabrera continued. “We’ve seen enough drownings out here as well”.

As darkness fell, the groups continued to cross the Rio Grande searching for the Border Patrol. Many carried small children on their shoulders on the long walk through the brush country. Many appeared worried and exhausted. Helicopters flew overhead at times, attempting to assist the few Border Patrol agents in the area to round up those migrants attempting to escape apprehension.

The migrants who flee are usually those who do not qualify for release. The number of those who escape apprehension by the Border Patrol increases daily.

As for the Border Patrol agent’s morale, Agent Cabrera says, “The job has never been easy, we still have to come to work and give it our all. That’s what we always do”.

Cruz: ‘Biden Administration Has Over 16,000 Children in Custody. We Went and Toured the Biden Cages’

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joined some of his Republican colleagues on a tour of the Southwest border on Friday, getting a first-hand look at the jam-packed housing for thousands of unaccompanied children who continue pouring into the United States, welcomed by President Joe Biden and his administration as they prioritize "humanity" over border security.

"We spent a day-and-a-half down at the border," Cruz told "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo:

And I will tell you, it is bad. I have been to the border many, many times. It is the worst that I have ever seen. It is a full-blown crisis. Last month, the month of February, we had over 100,000 illegal aliens crossing over. Roughly 30,000 of them were unaccompanied minors, kids.

And just today, the Biden administration has over 16,000 children in custody. We went and toured the Biden cages. For four years, we heard Democrats and the media talking about kids in cages under President Trump. Joe Biden has built more cages. The cages are bigger and they're more full.

The Donna facility, where that video you just showed was taken, the Donna facility is this giant tent city that they have built. It's massive. It's designed to hold 1,000 people. But under COVID restrictions, its capacity is 250. It right now has over 4,000 people in it. It is at a 1,500 percent capacity.

And that meant you saw in these cages, children, little boys and little girls, side by side. They're not six feet apart. They're not three feet apart. They're not even six inches apart. They're lying on the floor. There are no beds. They're lying on the floor side by side. They're covered with aluminum foil emergency blankets.

And in that facility, the children there are testing positive for COVID at roughly a 10 percent rate. So, they're locking them in these cages where COVID in a pandemic is a real risk. It is inhumane. It is unconscionable. And it's the direct result of the political decisions that Joe Biden has made.

'Renting Kids, Renting babies'

Cruz said human smugglers get up to $6,000 for each person they bring across the border:

We are seeing an instance of more and more young males arriving with kids. When those kids are DNA-tested against those males, many of those males are not related to those kids. And what the cartels are doing is, they understand the weakness and the loopholes in the Biden administration's policy.

And if a young adult male, possibly a criminal, possibly a gang member, if they want to come into this country, all they have to have is a kid. And so we're seeing the cartel members renting kids, renting babies, renting little children. Of course, many of those kids then are physically abused or sexually abused.

And they're seeing those kids then coming multiple times with multiple different adults. It is tragic. And, Maria, it's one of the things that's frustrating, because many Democrats like to pretend their open border policies are somehow humane.

There is nothing humane about what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are doing at the border. They're subjecting kids to horrific abuse. They're endangering their lives in a pandemic by keeping them locked up in cages right on top of each other. And then they're releasing illegal aliens into the United States who are testing positive for COVID at a rate seven times higher than the U.S. population. This is a humanitarian crisis. It is a health crisis. And it's a national security crisis.

Cruz faulted President Biden for stopping construction of the border wall, allowing illegal traffic to flow through the holes. Biden also reinstated the failed "catch and release" policy that allows people to stay here pending their immigration hearings, for which they do not show up.  And Biden ended the "remain in Mexico" policy that required would-be asylum seekers to apply for U.S. asylum in Mexico. That Trump policy discouraged people from flocking to the border.

Cruz said Border Patrol officials warned the Biden administration that ending the remain-in-Mexico policy would produce a "massive influx of illegal aliens."

"The Biden team knew this," Cruz said. "But their politics forced them to make a decision that is now resulting in massive human suffering and tragedy. And they don't know what to do, because their politics won't let them change. And so this is getting worse every day."

Cruz said Democrats are encouraging illegal immigration believing the foreigners, many from Central America, will eventually become U.S. citizens and vote for Democrats.

What’s Happening at the Center
In her latest report, Nayla Rush explains that the Biden administration is reviving and expanding the Central American Minors Refugee/Parole program (CAM) in order to bypass the border and fly migrants straight to the U.S. The earlier version of the program, started by the Obama administration, was terminated by the Trump administration in 2017. The new version of CAM will have more outreach, but the rationale is the same: Don't come here illegally because we will design in-country processing programs to get you in legally. Dr. Rush examined the Biden-Menendez amnesty bill, which points to the administration's plan for a three-part CAM program intended to reduce illegal crossings. The earlier version failed in that goal, and the new one is likely to have the same result.
