Pelosi Explains Why There's a 'Humanitarian Crisis' at the Border But Her Arguments Don't Apply

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Sunday called the illegal immigration crisis at the southern border a "humanitarian challenge" that the Biden administration is attempting to resolve. The comments come after El Paso Congresswoman Veronica Escobar visited the border on Friday and sounded the alarm on the conditions unaccompanied minors are being held in.
"The facts of these are more children, about 600, 700 more children, unaccompanied children, coming over the border. This is a humanitarian challenge," Pelosi told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. "What the [Biden] administration has inherited is a broken system at the border and they're working to correct that in the children's interest."
"I'm so pleased that the president has sent, as a temporary measure, has sent FEMA to the border to help facilitate the children going from one facility into where they are cared for until they are transferred into family homes or homes that are safe for them to be," the speaker explained.
According to Pelosi, illegal aliens are crossing the border in hopes of finding work. She cited corruption in Mexico and "climate change" in the Northern Triangle – El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras – that makes farming almost impossible, as reasons the migrants make the trek to the United States.
The speaker said the Refugee Resettlement Program, which provides protections to refugees from a third country, is considered "the crown jewel of American humanitarianism." She also mentioned that there are asylum seekers flocking to the southern border.

Pelosi's statements are riddled with errors. FEMA was deployed to the southern border because a facility for unaccompanied minors soared to 729 percent capacity. As a result, many are going five-plus days without a shower and, even then, basic necessities, like soap, are nonexistent. That's a health concern in general. Throw COVID on top of it and these facilities are a breeding ground for COVID infections and another outbreak.
If someone is seeking asylum they legally have to show up to an official port of entry to begin that process. They cannot illegally cross the border and say they're seeking asylum. Once they make that trek and go the illegal route, asylum protections are thrown out the window.
While the Refugee Resettlement Program is nice to point to, this has absolutely nothing to do with the crisis at the border. The resettlement program is designed to take in those who fleed their home country and found shelter as a refugee in another country. They then request to come to the United States as a refugee, with the protections that come with being deemed a refugee in America. Again, there are legal channels for this and they don't include illegally coming into the U.S.
The crisis at the border is taking place for a handful of reasons. President Biden refuses to say the border is closed. It didn't help that one of Biden's immigration advisers, former Ambassador to Mexico, Roberta Jacobson accidentally said the "border is not closed." Couple that with executive action he took halting deportations for the first 100 days, something he promised before inauguration day, and pulling funding from the border wall.
President Biden has metaphorically said the United States' southern border is open. And it's why people are flocking to America before Biden's first 100 days are up.

Why is Biden releasing thousands of Covid-positive migrants into the country?
The answer to that question may be in his absurd speech on Thursday when he said “we may have to reinstate the lockdown restrictions” if… If what? What if the migrants the Biden Administration is allowing to come across the southern border without being tested, even if showing symptoms, then given bus tickets to any American city they hope to reach, is a grand plan to spread this flu throughout the country again in order to reinstate all the unconstitutional restrictions to which millions of Americans willingly submitted? Chances are that the powers that be never dreamed so many people would give up their freedom to work, shop, eat, go to movies, vacation, have their kids in school, etc. without a fuss… but they did.
The carefully calculated, thoroughly propagandistic fearmongering the media has done over the past year in service of the left was embarrassingly effective. Too many Americans have lost the ability to question authority and have accepted the covid “mandates” as if we are all subjects of a benevolent oligarchy. Nothing could be further from the truth. This past year has been about several things:
(1) defeat Trump by any means necessary, no matter how illegal;
(2) use this flu, a variation of Sars-2 to do it;
(3) convince the citizens of the world that this flu is a death sentence so they will comply with any and all restrictions on their basic freedoms;
(4) proscribe any and all existing effective treatments for this flu – HCQ, Ivermectin, for example, both inexpensive and widely available;
(5) make disobeying any of the mandated restrictions a crime; maskless people and those who choose not to be vaccinated, must be rendered outcasts and/or criminals. That pretty much sums up where we are today.
The left thinks it has won and it seems perhaps they have but as usual they are overstepping. So jubilant at their bare majority in the House and Senate, they seem to think they’ve achieved power in perpetuity. They successfully rigged the 2020 election, blatantly, and got away with it. If they pass their HR-1, the “election reform” bill, they will have cemented vote fraud in stone. That’s their plan.
And how easy it will be since they have at least half the population scared to death of a manipulated seasonal flu, ready to cower in self-quarantine to survive. The teachers’ unions have successfully won billions of dollars in “covid relief” without ever having to go back to work. They want to make virtual school the new normal!
And these are the people, like the ever-invidious Nancy Pelosi who are always claiming their every move is “for the children.” Yeah. Right. They could not care less about anyone’s children but their own. They’ve proven that over and over and over again.
At this moment they are importing hundreds of thousands of migrants from all over the world through the now porous southern border that Trump had gained control of, many of them with Covid.

They desperately want to re-impose all the lockdown restrictions. They are drunk with power over our daily lives.
But here’s the thing! Covid is no death sentence. It is preventable and treatable with inexpensive drugs that have been around for decades. The vaccine is unnecessary. They are not even vaccines in the true sense of that word. These vaccines are actually “hacking the software of life.” Masks are unnecessary and actually dangerous. The lockdowns were just a purposeful power grab to punish all the small businesses who the left assumed supported President Trump who had so successfully energized the economy.
They are basking in their success at stealing the election, putting millions of Trump supporters out of business. They’ve further ramped up racial divisions even beyond Obama’s wildest dreams and thoroughly tanked the economies of California and New York.
China, the “man behind the curtain” of all of this, is laughing its way to global domination with the obedient acquiescence of the Biden administration and his party that is clearly willing to sell out the United States for their own personal financial gain.
Biden, or whoever is calling the administration’s shots, is sending migrants into the vast reaches of the American interior on purpose. It’s part of their plan to create a new covid surge so they can then shut us all down again. Will we the people stand for a replay of what was an effective coup d’etat?
As the Democrats plot to disarm those of us who revere the Second Amendment, they may be skating on thin ice, overplaying their ill-gotten hand. But their agenda is obvious. The handwriting is on the wall people. The leftists have a plan and they are sticking to it. Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country.
Pelosi: Climate Change Causing ‘Humanitarian Challenge’ at the Border
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that climate change has contributed to the surge of migrant children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
Pelosi said, “There are more children, about 600, 700 more children, unaccompanied children coming over the border. This is a humanitarian challenge to all of us. What the administration has inherited is a broken system at the border, and they are working to correct that in the children’s interest. I’m so pleased that the president, as a temporary measure, has sent FEMA to the border to help facilitate the children going from one 72-hour issue where they are cared for as they are transferred into family homes or homes that are safe for them to be. So this, again, is a transition for what was wrong before to what is right. Of course, we have to also look to Central America, Mexico, and the rest. The corruption, the violence, all of that.”
She added, “My most recent trip to the northern triangle, that would be Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador. You saw the impact of climate change. These people were leaving because of the drought. They couldn’t farm, and they were seeking other ways to survive. There are many reasons to go into this, but the fact we have to deal with it at the border, and some of the people coming there are seeking asylum. I always like to quote our friends in the Evangelical movement. At one of our hearings, we had before the majority of the representatives said to us. The United States refugee resettlement program is the crowned jewel of American humanitarianism. So we have certain responsibilities that we must honor. We have to have a system that accommodates that, and that is what the Biden administration is in the process of doing.”
