Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said Tuesday’s Senate hearing entitled “Jim Crow 2021: The Latest Assault on the Right to Vote” will be used by Democrats to frame voter-ID laws as “racist” while promoting election law changes that “make it easier to cheat.”

“What the Democrats are trying to do is to put in place a platform for Stacey Abrams and the Georgia Democrats to say that all voter ID is racist,” Blackburn said on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with with host Alex Marlow, author of Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption. “So that is what they are seeking to do today, they want to establish that as a fact.”

Blackburn noted widespread requirements for photo ID across many situations, including requests for government benefits, registrations at public universities, applications for passports, picking up packages at post offices, and opening bank accounts.

She remarked, “[Democrats] are trying to put in place a federalizing of elections, and thereby institutionalize some concepts like mail-out ballots, like not verifying signatures on mail-in ballots, having drop boxes, so all of this is making it easier to cheat.”

Marlow remarked, “If you don’t make it easier to cheat, it’s now Jim Crow, and there is no room for dissent, at all, which is just so unhealthy for a society. Any disagreement is just branded as literal racism.”

“[Democrats frame] anyone who is in the Republican party [as] a racist now,” he added, “I guess, presumably, even if you’re a black or brown person. Once we start treating other Americans as racists simply for having normative viewpoints, then we’re doomed if this continues.”

Blackburn said that H.R. 1 and S. 1 — the proposed House and Senate legislation dubbed the For the People Act — are designed to “make it easier to cheat” in elections and to “keep corrupt politicians in office.”

Mexico’s President Obrador Offers Deal to Joe Biden: Work Visas for Border Security

Mexico’s president is offering to curb Central American migration if President Joe Biden lets more Mexicans take U.S. jobs needed by Americans, according to Bloomberg news.

The site reported Mexico’s offer on Sunday:

“President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that he would propose the plan to U.S. President Joe Biden at a summit on climate change on Thursday. He said the plan could create more than a million jobs and that participants in the reforestation program should be given a chance to obtain U.S. work visas and, eventually, even U.S. citizenship.

“This would allow us to order the flow of migration, which overflowed in March,” Lopez Obrador said in a video posted on Sunday from his ranch in the southern state of Chiapas.

“This is the way to strengthen productive commercial and economic activities of North America,” he said. “If we don’t unite in the Americas, Asia will out pace us.”

“As a fossil-fuel nationalist, AMLO [Obrador] has so little to offer on climate at this week’s Earth Day Summit,” said a tweet from José Díaz-Briseño, the editor of Mexico Today. “He opted to change topic & is now expected to present Biden with a migration ‘deal’ for Central Americans to gain access to US citizenship in exchange for tree planting.”

Many Mexicans use the H-2A and H-2B visa programs to take agriculture-sector and manual labor jobs in the United States, including the forestry jobs sought by young Americans in rural towns.

Many Mexicans also use the L-1 and TN visa programs to take white-collar jobs from American graduates, who are already losing careers to Fortune 500’s resident foreign workforce of roughly 1.5 million white-collar visa workers.

Mexico has been trying to extract some advantage from Biden’s political predicament.

Biden’s progressive base is pressuring him to adopt very unpopular mass migration into Americans’ jobs, housing, and schools. So far, Biden has zig-zagged between his open-borders base and the increasingly worried American public, while his deputies talk about possible diplomatic deals with countries in the region.

“If you look at the region from different points of view, but especially demographics and economics, it is clear the flows are going to be constant and growing in coming years,” said Mexico’s foreign secretary Marcelo Ebrard, according to an Associated Press April 8 report.

“The United States will have to allocate $2 billion per year for development in these countries, in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” said Ebrard, who is involved in the slow-motion negotiations with the White House about the migration surge into the United States.

The $2 billion per year is roughly twice as much money as the $1 billion per year that President Joe Biden has suggested the U.S. should spend in Central America.

But Biden’s prior offer of $1 billion in aid per year is equivalent to just $30.22 per person in Central America — and is only a tiny slice of the economic damage caused by U.S. extraction-migration policies to ordinary Americans, Mexicans, and the people in Central America.

Also, there is little evidence the Biden will anger his base of left-wing programs to stop migration from Central America, Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, told Breitbart News.

Many U.S. business groups and donors want to extract migrants from nearby countries because they stimulate the U.S. economy,  minimize wage gains by Americans, pump up consumer sales, and boost rental prices. For example, business groups are pushing a bill that would allow wealthy farm owners to import replacement labor via the H-2A visa program.

The 2021 inflow under Biden’s border welcome is likely to add roughly 1 million people — or about one migrant for every four Americans who turn 18 and begin looking for jobs.

21 Black Leaders Denounce Democrats’ ‘Despicable Smear Campaign’ of ‘Misinformation’ About Ga. Election Law

Twenty-one prominent Black leaders, ranging from former Mayor Ken Blackwell and Heritage Foundation Pres. Kay James to Dr. Alveda King and Col. Allen West (Ret.), have sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee denouncing Democrats’ “despicable smear campaign” portraying Georgia’s new election integrity law as a return to Jim Crow.

“Critics of the law have substituted passion for reason, hysteria for judgment,” the Black leaders write, slamming the “despicable smear campaign” and attacks against the law and its supporters:

“They have launched a despicable smear campaign against supporters of the law and economic reprisals against the state of Georgia – punishing the very people they claim to champion.”

The politically-motivated attacks on the law have been dishonest, uncivil, and unfair the letter says:

“The public discourse about Georgia’s new voting reforms has not been civil, fair, nor honest. Politically motivated attacks against the new law have generated much heat, but little light.”

….

“Political agendas that have nothing to do with enhancing election security and voter access are involved.”

“They have tarred with the brush of racism people whose only sin is a desire for confidence in our elections,” the Black leaders tell the senators.

“It’s time to end these campaigns of misinformation, division, and hate,” they say, condemning comparison of the law to Jim Crow. That tactic trivializes “the literal life and death struggles of previous generations” and ignores evidence that a majority of Blacks actually support the law’s main components, such as its voter identification requirement, the Black leaders write:

“The policy differences of today pale in comparison to what was overcome by the noble generations that preceded us. To compare today’s policy differences with the literal life and death struggle of previous generations is to diminish those heroes’ struggle, sacrifice, and enormous accomplishments.”

….

“And it is clear they have no idea that a majority of Black voters across the country support the key provision under attack by critics – the simple requirement that voters be able to identify themselves when voting. This is the same simple requirement needed to pick up baseball tickets or board a plane - activities hardly as important as voting.”

Most importantly, they say, people who have been duped by the false claims need to be made aware of Democrats’ “real agenda” - “a sweeping new power grab” accomplished “under the guise of expanding voting access”:

“Those who have been deceived by a political campaign to discredit the new law and punish the state of Georgia, should stop, take a step back, and understand the real agenda here.

“The real agenda behind these attacks on Georgia’s new election law and the smears against supporters of voter identification is to create the political environment for a sweeping new power grab by folks in Washington. Of course, all of this is being done under the guise of expanding voting access.

“The reality is it is an unprecedented attempt to take control of our elections, and have taxpayers pay for political campaigns. Yes, tucked into the mammoth 800-page bill HR1 is a little provision where taxpayers will be forced to subsidize the campaigns of the very politicians now supporting HR1. What a massive conflict of interest.”

“The effect of this takeover will be to strip states of the power to ensure the integrity of our elections through voter identification and other measures,” the Black leaders warn, concluding with an unequivocal endorsement of Georgia’s new law.
